Kori Omoide was created 11 years ago, on September 7th, 2013. Originally created for a short story at that time, she was then the protagonist for an additional 900 page manga draft, and eventually she became the protagonist of my first published book and its series, the Myrios Series.
Congratulations on 11 years, Kori.

more dante more dante fuel my obsession
dantes relationships with the others? :>>
Oooo good question :0
I'm gonna make this mystreet exclusive lol if you want mcd you're just gonna have to send another ask >:3c
Nova: much like in mcd, regards her almost like a little sister, although that's a relatively recent change. In high school, when he was much closer with Garroth and Laurance, he was way more focused on playing wingman for them, and as such tended to accidentally treat her more like some kind of prize. He's doing his best to make up for it now though <3
Aaron: sorry danron fans but these two do NOT interact, not in my heart (or my rewrite).. they don't have a huge amount in common, and before becoming close to Nova Aaron was a completely closed book, so there's no really reason for this two to really know each other. As such I think dante would have super neutral opinions about him
Garroth and Laurance: close friends, but not as close as they were in high school.. as teens they were quite the trio, but most people's focus was always on Garroth (rich) and Laurance (charming), and not usually on him. It definitely affected his view of himself, and after becoming friends with Travis and Aphmau he started to distance himself from the others.
Travis: literally best friends, inseparable, attached at the hip and have been since high school lol. So attached at the hip, in fact, that they are constantly pushing the boundaries of a platonic relationship, always hugging and cuddling, sharing beds and stealing a few kisses, all they need to make it official is the label lol. They won't though, because while they are EXTREMELY close there's no real romantic feelings between them
Zane: pretty bad opinion of him in hs, and he kept that same view well into adulthood until Nova finally insisted that Zane was a good guy at heart. Nothing changed between them immediately, but Dante did open up to the possibility of change. Now a days he's got a pretty neutral opinion of Zane, leaning towards good. He still things Zane's cold, but he does understand what Nova sees in him :)
Katelyn: really respected her as teens, but as they've gotten older he's found he has less tolerance for her. Her treatment of Travis grates on his nervous, and while he understands why she defends Nicole with her life he really wishes that didn't involve talking down to him
Lucinda: he's genuinely terrified by her lol. She's gorgeous and intelligent and powerful, and it intimidates him a lot. He respects her a lot for it, despite how nervous she makes him, and does his best to stay in her good graces
Nana: he didn't used to ever really pay attention to her, but lately she's been catching his eyes and he's developed a lil crush 👀 he's incredibly nervous about asking her out though, given his previous dating history and her proximity to Katelyn. He doesn't wanna risk repeating what happened with Nicole with Nana
Nicole: his first love, the two have had a very rocky on-again-off-again relationship throughout the latter parts of high school, college, and even early adulthood. They broke it off again early in s1 on somewhat negative terms, and he tries not to dwell on how much he misses her
Gene: looks up to him a lot, even though he knows perfectly well that Gene got up to some shady shit back in the day. Their mom was always busy trying to support them as kids, and their father dipped shortly after he was born, so he's always considered Gene the closest thing to a real parent he's ever had
Zenix and Sasha: he's friendly towards them, but to him they've always be Gene's friends rather than his own. He knows them pretty well however considering how frequently they were around growing up, and he's pretty proud of how the whole group has changed since school

Okokok i have more questions about this au because I’ve been rotating it very rapidly in my head all day
1. How does everyone react to akiras betrayal? Does it hurt more or less than akechis? Because I’m assuming that he’s still an older brother figure to futaba based on how you said he still hangs out at Leblanc, but how would she react to learning that he’s a murderer?
2. Do they even suspect him like how they suspect akechi? Or are sumire and futabas good word enough to throw them off the scent?
3. How does the engine room play out? Does he confess everything or do they not realize what’s really going on until 3rd semester?
4. Interrogation room? 👀👀
5. How does sumire react when she learns what her sisters been involved in?
Ok that’s it for now I’m just… I’m buzzing thinking about this au
OH BOY OH BOY those are some 👀👀 interesting question 👀👀 you have there. i’ll try my best to answer the ones i’ve already thought about!! these answers are definitely subject to change further down the line though.
it would definitely hurt more than akechi’s betrayal, which is honestly a really low bar considering akechi pretty much only really talks to akira and sumire prior to him blackmailing his way into the phantom thieves. futaba is pretty chill actually with her older brother figure being a murderer part, she’s done actual criminal activity before and she’s super attached to akira. i’ve always kind of seen futaba’s beef with akechi to be more over the fact that he killed her mom than him killing in general? haru is the one you should be more worried about hehe.
they don’t really suspect akira! there isn’t a pancakes moment in this au and akira can’t help befriending ALL of the phantom thieves even despite their new roles. it’s a little funny that you bring up sumire and futaba here, because they (along with akechi but he is a new addition) are actually the ones that kind of know there is something going on. it’s a side effect of having a close relationship with akira. kasumi used to be part of that group too but she found out the truth already. the other two try to justify or turn a blind eye to whatever details they notice. the other phantom thieves hardly notice a thing though, and sumi + futaba’s good word definitely helps. i haven’t completely figured out exactly how a lot of the pt react to prince detective akira’s views on the pt yet though.
bold of you to assume akira would let goro get hurt in the same way he did in the original timeline. both the interrogation room and engine room scenes will be different from canon! it makes me giggle and kick my feet and im keeping it a secret for the full experience when i present it (which i hopefully will, if not i will describe what it would have been)
see above.
akira does a real good job hiding all traces of kasumi’s involvement (he is already risking a lot by even befriending some of the pt pre-canon, because they get on shido’s radar. he has the excuses of connections for the nijiimas and the yoshizawas at least, but he stayed away from the other pt for a long time because of this reason) so sumire doesn’t find out for a long time. kasumi is also a relatively new addition to akira’s team, since she only follows him into the metaverse in the beginning of april. sumire doesn’t find out until akira’s palace though, and with kasumi she is less upset about the accomplice part than the trust parts (also canon sumi’s complex about her sister shows its claws). she likely would have been more upset with the accomplice stuff if she had found out at the same time as finding out about akira’s role, but because she finds out after, she already had some reconciliation over that fact.
i’m so glad that you like my silly little self-indulgent au so much!!! i really didn’t think people would be that interested in it aldhlsjdk thank you for your questions!!

You know maybe Sha Po Lang's story is probably the closest Danmei to Saiunkoku Monogatari? Why?
Kou Shuurei and Gu Yun care about the politics of their country too much. A Censorate and a General. There are moments when other characters asked them why do they care that much to the point it will risk their life? Why Shuurei keep making herself involved in the world of politics despite people telling her to resign? Why Gu Yun keep serving the royal family even if they play a role in the reason why he's dying?
Chang Geng and Shi Ryuuki became a good ruler of their country because of their loved one. Chang Geng is only a regent but take his job seriously so his beloved general is at ease. Shi Ryuuki is not interested in governing originally but Shuurei as a consort tutor manage to persuade him. Of course, they both care about common people too but the main reason why they are a good ruler is their loved one. Both of them have growth where they witnessed the outside world thanks to their loved one so they decided to do something for it.
Kou Shuurei and Chang Geng experienced being the one who barely know what's going. Info about serious stuff are hidden from Shuurei because she's a consort that need to be protected in the beginning. She only learned about it once she became an official, censorate and governor. Chang Geng is the same during his stay in Yanhui where Gu Yun's Black Eagles protects him because he's the missing prince. Both care about economics side of the country originally but they also excelled in different fields. Chang Geng know medicine while Kou Shuurei is also an erhu player and a teacher.
Shi Ryuuki and Chang Geng experienced abuse from their mother despite being part of royalties when they are young. Ryuuki was abused by her mother because the emperor used to not favor him as a prostitute's son. Xiu Niang is Chang Geng's auntie but she's the closest bad mother figure to Chang Geng where she always attempt to kill him and even poisoned him.
Gu Yun and Kou Shuurei rejected their loved one's romantic feelings in the beginning and asked to find someone else but later they eventually learned to love them. Gu Yun already decided he will die in a battleground before he met Chang Geng and probably believe his existence is a bad omen that make people important to him keep dying so he's not interested in romance. Shuurei is too aroace for romance despite not minding getting married one day as part of her duty. Its easy for her to marry as duty and not for love.
Chang Geng and Shi Ryuuki do a lot of non-consensual kiss in the beginning as part of their advances. It make sense because the one they are courting is very dismissive of their feelings as suitors so they need to make sure that they expressed clearly they want them romantically. Tbh the relationship will not work if the other one is not pursuing that hard. It tones down later in the story tho because they are busy in their jobs. I swear they have great relationship as pair despite the noncon!
Both couple are power couple with sexy brain. Regent Emperor and General. Censorate and Emperor. The two pairs are not always together but what their investigating connects them in the end.
The main couple are distant relatives. Shuurei and Ryuuki are very distant relatives too but they are not blood related. It just that in Saiunkoku, royal Shi family marry a lot with influential Kou family. That's why they can be related. It also make sense why Kou is very powerful and influential family despite not being royalties because they have strong connection with royal Shi family. Shuurei's uncle, Reishin actually has a wife from Ryuuki's family. In Sha Po Lang, Gu Yun and Chang Geng are related too but very distant and Chang Geng's bloodline remained ambiguous because we didn't know which child survive so since he's the combination of two person we can still say he's distant related.

Sometimes I take more than enough to post something... Anyway, Allicia.
Tumblr media
She's basically a birdwoman mixed between two slightly different tribes of bird people, which is why her wings are slightly different. Its like a genetic thing yknow? They're bigger than they should and sometimes she can't fold her wings behind her back like Birdperson normally do to get them "round" like that. I like to think she also have some huge claws on her feet but I couldn't draw it
I ended up writing too much stuff here, sorry
I don't know exactly why but I wanted her to look like an angel in some points of the design, I mean, I really don't know, it just sounded like a good idea
For now I still don't know how to say precisely how she ended up working for the federation, like... How do they hire? I can't say for sure, but it shouldn't be too enigmatic, right? Like, it must be like an army I guess
What I know is that Allicia's parents were a couple of criminal scammers, they did some deceiving maneuvers to make a living from stealing and everything. They took relatively good care of Allicia, as despite being criminals and taking advantage of the system in various civilizations, they were not obligated to be bad parents.
They didn't do much to break the law and were always traveling, which made their journey longer. But they just couldn't make it forever. For a time, while Allicia was very young, they paused these activities for a while and settled in a city on a reasonably developed planet, On the same planet where Allicia lives by today
I believe she has a trauma, something related to a deep fear of losing her own wings, but I haven't had very good ideas yet to define that. I think this came about gradually as she had to oppress other species in her work, and she began to feel fear and empathy.
I like to think that she managed to live a normal life, until the federation took over the planet where she lives and she was forced to enlist in the federation army. Speaking of which, I guess this is how they employ people who aren't naturally mean.
Therefore, at work she always acts a bit apathetic, putting her feelings aside to avoid suffering any more from it
I also can't explain how exactly she interacts with Tammy, but what I do know is that It's like she keeps praising Tammy every now and then to keep her satisfied and away from her. Even so, Tammy distrusts her.
She also constantly neglects her work as much as she can without attracting too much attention. Like, when they send her somewhere alone, she comes home, changes her clothes and goes somewhere else. Then, she goes back and pretends nothing happened. Or she just walks around w the uniform anyway.
She neglects her job so much that when she took on the role of "checking agent" she began disguising the Ricks and tampering with the system to prevent them from being found, I believe this 'checking system' came about after the federation lost some very dumb wars because they didn't send someone there before to check how things were going. They were also wasting a lot of time and being tricked and distracted multiple times. Like, A LOT of times. And, since Allicia... like... flies, they thought she was a good candidate for this. And, like, she's always talking in that robotic way that make she looks like she' just can't do anything without receiving orders. But, like, she don't really care at all
She goes on a Rick and says: "now I'll make some questions and you'll lie to me. Say the most convenient things that come into your head and, most importantly, make sure you'll be CLEARLY DENYING ALL THE ACCUSATIONS IN THESE QUESTIONS, K?"
I like to imagine that she interacted with several Ricks in this thing of messing w her own job. Sometimes, she just goes to dinner at the house of some random family of some random Rick she helped and stays there, usually when that Rick isn't home. I guess because she's bad at cooking or she's just too tired and likes to be in a familiar place.

I have no idea who they are, so feel free to tell me everything about them. I feel like I'm super behind some of you guys' OCs lol
*Slams Dearil on the table and gently puts Chad next to him*
Okay so these are my rejuv and reborn ocs. They are related/part of the same universe. I made them both a while ago but properly using them again. (Well, Chad I did use a lot, but Dearil not at all.)
A bit of their info has changed since I made them.
Dearil has two versions, Renegade and Paragon. Chad does the Lin route in reborn.
I'm copying and pasting this from discord and have not spellchecked and stuff.
more under read more (No spoilers on new karma files content:
Okay so pre-reborn and rejuv events both of the them lived in Oblivia (region where the game Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs takes place)
TW: mentions of child abuse, death, witchcraft and gaslighting
When Chad was young (let's say around 7 years old) his house was set on fire and his parents and sibling died while he survived, he was taken in by a woman named Aasha (not real name, nor did she 'legally' adopt him) Aasha is a Giratina worshipper and is part of a cult, she practices witchcraft and stuff like that as well.
When he was 10 years old Aasha brought home a year old named Dearil (unknown if it's his real name or not), Chad had taken it upon himself to look after him and give him a relatively okay child hood.
Aasha was abusive, both physically more so than mentally. (The latter more so than the first, both of the kids received abuse but Dearil more so than Chad.)
Chad was Aasha's golden child and wanted him to be her successor, because of this Dearil was often left on his own a lot but Chad looked after him. Dearil is often VERY starved for affection which Chad provides, Chad has become very distant and stone cold towards everyone around him except Dearil who he'll put up a front for.
Chad like I said grows up to be emotionally distant, but also obdient. Dearil despite hating her has become a lot like Aasha. Rebellious and cruel. Dearil is only nice and caring towards Chad.
Despite attempting to protect Dearil from their adoptive mother's abuse Chad was still at the end of a day also a victim and would fall in line if Aasha's punishemts were too scary or too much for him to handle.
Although Dearil does think Chad is a coward for that, he does understand the fear and doesn't hold it against his older brother. Not always at least.
(This concludes their upbringing, it's brief and not detailed but enough)
Chad, at one point has become more powerful than Aasha, however the fear instilled in him was still great until one day he snapped and overpowered her.
At that point he tries to tell Dearil to run away with him, but Dearil refuses.
Despite hating Aasha she's still Dearil's authority figure and parental figure. She always promised the boy power and the chance to be better and stronger than everyone.
Dearil tried to convince they should stay home together and take on the world together. (Note, he's not looking to take over the world or anything, he's just wanting to survive and he constantly feels like he has to be on guard and attack mode. As does Chad ofc, but he wants to learn to not want to live like that anymore.)
Chad refuses and ultilmatly makes the hard decision to leave Dearil behind, he can no longer live there in the region with his abused and scarred past there. He takes the first boat and leaves to wherever with no destination in mind. He eventually arrives in one of the main game regions and sees a advertisement to the reborn league.
Not having much of a destination in mind he goes for it and the events of reborn main game start there.
At one point during reborn main game Aasha uses her power to connect herself with Chad and tries to convince him to go back.
A little before the glass factory events she uses her power to teleport Chad to a place similar to the distortion world alongside and they fight, she loses and Chad goes back despite her begging and manipulating.
Aasha has been weakened but when she returns she snaps and attempts to destroy everything around her in a frenzy. Dearil tries to take her down but he is simply on strong enough and perishes. This is when he ||meets Variya (Prob spelled her name wrong lol) and is given the role as interceptor||, he gets revived and his host is ||Aero||. (Timeline wise ||5|| years have passed for Chad but Dearil is still the same age from en he died) However Dearil's soul is now filled with hatred, hatred towards Aasha, Chad and the world. However he doesn't remember them and now they don't know WHY they feel so much anger and the constant need to take revenge on ||someone||. He doesn't trust anyone and has no interest in helping anyone out. He simply goes along with the others because he feels he has no destiny or path forward in life anymore.
Seeing ||Giratina in Wispy Tower|| awakens some memories, but not enough. He doesn't do any help center quests, he feels no need to be playful or nice to his friends. He does not seem to care about people who pass away.
When ||Clear and Kieran give him the option to help them destroy the world or whatever ||he takes it. At this point in time he has gotten *some* memories of their past back, but he isn't sure if it's their own memories. He just knows he wants revenge on *something* and|| Clear and Kieran ||are handing that to him on a silver platter.
The thing is Dearil wasn't supposed to have memories of his past, but whatever magic Aasha used against him as become part of him, which also fueled his need for revenge and his hatred. (Aasha felt like the world was against her). Aasha always had a connection to her sons and is always able to know where they are because of it, but they're always able to sense her because of it as well.
Although we're not that far in the game yet in what I assume will be the final battle time stops completely around Dearil.
At first he thinks is ||Tiempa || but then someone speaks to him, someone he thinks he's never heard before, yet the voice sounds so familiar. A golden gate to what seems to be a different world opens and they are told to come through it. They do.
Inside the world time seems to continued and ||the storm seems|| to have infiltrated as well there. Continuing further he sees the men from his memories, Chad. Alongside him is a Giratina (not the one in Aevium) and Arceus (this one looks weird, is it shiny?)
Chad starts with "It seems the ||storm ||has even affected in the new world, I had hoped to evacuate reborn to here if things went south but..."
They talk for a bit and then they fight. Dearil finally fully remembers where the pain, betrayel and anger comes from and attempts to kill Chad, but fails. Chad overpowers him in a pokemon battle and easily in hand to hand combat.
With help of Giratina the magic from Aasha is released from him and Dearil, although still feeling angry and betrayed by Chad slowly starts to feel regret about all his choices.
Chad finally apologizes, although Dearil doesn't forgive him he says he understands.
Dearil says he doesn't want to continue to hurt people anymore and asks if Chad will help out, his older brother explains that things have gone to far south to be fixed right now.
Chad explains that he can send Dearil back in time with help of Dialga and practically reset the events. Dearil won't remember the events in Aevium but will remember their past together and Chad's final words for him now. Words of affirmation, care, expression of guilt and love.
He explains that Dearil's memories might come back at some points, but he is afraid of the consequences what will happen if he allows Dearil to remember everything from the start.
Dearil agrees to it and is send back, at the paragon route starts there.
However although the magic was released from Dearil some of it is still part of him, so his old renegade self comes out from time to time.
That's the quick none detailed version of their story!
Chad specializes in Dragon and Ghost types
Renegade Dearil specializes is Ghost and Dark and Paragon Dearil specializes in Ghost and Dragon.
Chad's starter is Charizard and Dearil's Hisuan Typhlosian in both routes.
Chad (He/Him) is early to mid 20's during Reborn's story and Dearil (He/They) is 18 at the start of the SS Oceana stuff
During the events in Aevium Chad gets married (to you know who if you know me) and has had/is having twins.
Okay so this is their backstory and such, I can also give random facts but maybe for another ask because this is a lot.
Sorry for the long ass post 😭 I've always loved Chad but Dearil makes me INSANE rn with the rejuv brainrot.
Thanks for the ask!!

Through Rocks and Snow Ch. 17 - The Summit
FFN: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14146784/17/Through-Rocks-and-Snow
AO3: Through Rocks and Snow - Chapter 17
17. The Summit
Prompt: Rigid
Before that day, Madeline’s relationship with herself, and by extension, with Badeline, has been nothing short of a wretched one.
Now they’ve had made amends, their relationship had become rigidly tense. Tense as in “Meeting a new distant relative” Tense. Still, climbing the mountain had never been more exciting and Madeline has never thought of herself as more capable than ever.
Trees, undergrowth and sky grew in abundances as they reached the surface. Madeline and Badeline were climbing their way out of the caves just as fast as they have fallen.
In a moment of catharsis, both person and reflection spun into one being. With the determination of Madeline and the power of Badeline, time froze for a second as Badeline launched Madeline through the skies. Everything around around became a blur of snow, sky and sunset where Madeline floated despite the unparallel speed she climbed with.
The moment she reached the forsaken city, Madeline noted something different on the place.
The buildings lit bright and sunlight shone through the window frames and what little broken glass remained attached alike.
The once suffocating sensation of space became as old as the buildings Madeline now traveled through running with the chill wind hitting her face and her pink fluttering free as her.
Did the city change or had Madeline changed instead?
Not so long ago, change may have been the scariest thing for Madeline whereas now excitement and adrenaline rushed through her blood for her and Badeline to spring once more into the sky with the power of the mountain.
Even with her newfound vigor, Madeline couldn’t help but feel uneasy at the place she met the other part of herself, even if her relationship with literally herself was in a whole ‘nother world in comparison, the red-haired girl couldn’t shake the feeling of their lukewarm first encounter they had.
She noticed Badeline also carried mixed feelings in one of their breaks when Madeline had to rest and figure where to go. The person turned to her reflection reluctant. She could feel Badeline stare on the back of her head burning; Just like she felt on the city behind them.
“You’re thinking about too, right?”
Badeline pressed her lips together in a curved line and shied her eyes away from Madeline into the giant view of an once great city. “I just don’t know how to feel. I always thought we would be nothing more than enemies or allies at best, always trying to control everything about the other. Is so…complicated to put all that in words.”
“You don’t need to.”
Madeline’s word pulled Badeline out of her head, startling her as if she had just woken up from a bad dream.
Madeline smiled with smiled with shame and a tad of laughter seeing the same confusion and empty headedness that plagued herself since forever. “You don’t need to explain. I feel the same.”
Badeline opened her mouth but no words came out. Her breath stopped midway before shame invaded her and her lips pressed together in a twisted S form. “I’m sorry,” She whimpered with half closed eyes filled with tears on the edge.
“I know and it’s okay.” Madeline opened her arms wide.
“Are you seriously asking for a hug right now?” She asked between small coughs trying to contain her cry.
“I’m trying to do something nice for us.” Madeline’s tone grew irritated. Slowly but surely, Badeline accepted the hug. They stayed in that position until Badeline’s breathing soothed.
After a while they arrived to the backdoor of the celestial resort, expecting to find Oshiro as soon as they put a foot in. The storage room they entered was surprisingly clean of dust and webs.
“I remember this place in a lot worse shape,” Badeline said to the air as she idly grabbed a bag of food for birds with disinterest.
“Badeline.”
“What? Is true. That old weirdo forced you to do his job. It would not be the first time.”
“He needed help.”
“You needed help. Help I tried to give you, by the way, and you ignored me for the umpteenth time.”
“This time was dif–“
“This time was no different than all those times you ignored what was best for you.” Badeline teleported behind Madeline and grabbed her by her shoulders to turn her to the nearest exit. “Please.”
The new, cleaner and far more spacious Celestial Resort allowed person and reflection to get out of the large storage room in a matter of minutes, and before they knew it, the vast and colorful scenery of the golden and purple ridge filled their eyes. As soon as Madeline exposed to open air, wind fluttered against her hair and the cold breeze froze her red cheeks.
“This place was always this quiet?” Badeline asked upon materializing above Madeline.
“Er, sort of. I suppose that’s why I went here after…”
“Yeah,” She said irritated.
“Yeah,” She said ashamed.
“What is it with you running away like that whenever trouble appear”
“Were you not the cause of those impulsive ticks?”
Badeline stopped her “walk” mid-air. “Hey, don’t throw me under the bus like that.” She growled with her nose and some cold air could be seen coming out. “If anything, I was the one who learned that from YOU after you…kicked me out.”
“Sorry about that again.”
“Don’t care, didn’t ask.”
Madeline couldn’t help but notice the wind in the ridge blew stronger than last time. She soon became aware if it wasn’t for Badeline, she wouldn’t have made it to the Mirror Temple.
The once dark lit temple now was illuminated in almost every surface and corner. Madeline stopped to contemplate the temple, now in all of its magnific. “This is all my doing?” She asked to the large space in the room.
“This WAS your doing,” Badeline rectified. “I told you, the temple reflects your mind, but you didn’t listen to me, as usual.”
“Okay, okay, no need to gloat about it, what do we do now?”
“Miss problems asking for help? I thought I’d never live to see this day.”
“Don’t jinx about it,” Madeline poorly mimicked Badeline’s voice being done with it all.
“Okay, okay. Just listen to me and keep your mind calm.”
And so she did after Badeline returned to Madeline and her hair turned pink again. All she had to do was listen to her instincts and everything would be okay as her reward.
The full weight of her journey fell upon her head when she realized she had climbed what took her two—almost three days—in a couple of hours.
Strong and aggressive breezes of wind hit her body. They threatened to freeze her bones and hindered her every move rigid and tense. Madeline knew she could fly away if she was not careful.
Amidst the excitement and joy inflating her chest, Madeline couldn’t shake the feeling of shame. How much else could have she gained and achieved from the beginning, only if she had not been so messed up.
Madeline would always wonder about the “what ifs” and “coulds”, “woulds”, and of course, the “only ifs” alike. How could she not? What laid inside her had been the reason she almost gave up and now it was that very same thing the reason she was achieving her goal.
Right there, in the verge of reaching the summit, how could she forget?
She could not. She would not.
Not as an intrusive thought as before, but as a willful reminder.
And what a willful, cherishable reminder she’d have as her steps in the chill snow reached the red flag at the very top of the summit. Madeline could catch the sunset hiding in the horizon painting her skin in a dim orange tone and witness the view of her whole journey since she started at the very same drive that almost stopped her.

Thinking about pride -> thinking about homosexual relations in non-humans -> thinking about relationships in general for the Eight Worlds species
Pippans Pippans have relatively short lifespans for a sapient species (~35 years) and live in very densely-packed colonies with a lot of gossip and drama, it would make sense for them to typically have multiple short-term relationships, with a couple staying together for 5+ years being something extremely rare. Non-het couples are probably completely unremarkable since they don't have a gendered society and you can't tell the sex of a Pippan at a distance anyway without either smelling them or seeing their calf spots. Ace pippans are probably somewhat ostracised in a society of whirlwind romances but since children are raised communally they would still easily be able to experience parenthood.
Drakes & Snakes Long term exclusively Drake/Drake or Snake/Snake sexual partnerships are very rare, since Drake-Snake pairs almost exclusively hook up as duos, most commonly for short-term 4 member "marriages" for the purposes of raising kids. Long-term single-species sexual relationships are probably socially in the same niche as kink-based relationships among humans. Sexual relationships between Drake-Snake bonded pairs are considered completely unremarkable, as are non-sexual pairings; whether a pair are getting each other off or not is considered entirely their business. With both species being hermaphrodite gender isn't a topic, but long-term pair bonds with species outside of Drake or Snake is considered extremely outlandish and modern.
Covorayl Older Covorayl, who are generally the ones in power, love tradition and globally their courtships and sexual experiences haven't changed in centuries. Males are socially pressured to own property and wealth, to cultivate their knowledge and sophistication, and a male is judged heavily (mainly by other males) on the value and aesthetics of his home and possessions. All covorayl are hatched female so females are by nature always younger, and typically afflicted with wanderlust and lack of interest in any of the ideals that the older males hold dear. Traditionally a female has no home or property, but travels from place to place, with males obliged to show hospitality wherever she might go, or take care of any egg she might leave them with after a longer stay. Past a certain age a female is expected to settle down with a male she likes, as she too gradually becomes male, leading to male-male permanent partnerships. Sex is generally hush-hush in polite Covorayl society, often referred to euphemistically as "entertaining" someone, and engaging in non-procreative sexual activity is not talked about at all despite being common. With this rigid traditional approach, rebellion against it is both controversial and omnipresent, with rebellious covorayl often finding social sanctuary offworld, where aliens don't care if you chemically keep yourself female your entire life or decide to eschew gender completely.
Vox Vox have no sexes and their reproduction involves several vox coming together in a circle and essentially performing ritual bloodletting. It's generally an event that occurs only a few times in an individual's life and carries the risk of death or permanent injury every time. Vox do not understand romance or sexuality, or the concept of gender at all, though could maybe empathise with an asexual person on the level of "yeah I personally would like to avoid sex too, since I'm afraid I might die"
Lulops Lulops are another ungendered two-sexed species with very little sexual dimorphism, to the point that Lulops briefly conversing with each other may not be able to tell the other's sex at all. Lulops generally form strong lifetime bonded romantic/sexual pairs and family units, and in modern lulop societies homosexual pairs are a minority but not considered strange in any way, should they even be detected. Childcare being an immense priority among lulops, homosexual couples are always eager and willing to adopt a child without parents.
Nixians Separated by vast forests, Nixian societies are incredibly varied on this topic, with many viewpoints spanning the spectrum of narrow to broad. The most ancient form of Nixian relationships is a chieftain figure/s with many "wives", with others in the group heavily discouraged from having children. Most Nixian societies have drawn away from this oppressive structure however, with cross-cultural or interspecies hubs in particular having a more "do whatever you want" attitude.
Cronians I honestly don't know what sexes cronians even have (possibly hermaphrodite?) but for certain their clan plays a huge role. Breeding outside of the clan would be a big no-no that probably extends to casual sexual relations as well, though I'm sure individual opinion on that varies. Cross-clan breeding is probably a historically fraught topic, involving all the drama of arranged marriages, custody battles, and uneasy alliances. Larval cronians are as simple-minded as young children however, and the offspring of two clans growing up in the same nursery cavern together sounds like a wonderful story hook.

the body i have...
i hate going clothes shopping.
Some close relatives visited our house last week. I was home before they arrived after a quick date with my beloved. I stayed in my room for a while and when i went out, i was greeted by a really kind comment by an aunt.
"Why do you look more fat then before?"
My mom was quick to respond, "She gained her brother's weight,".
My brother has lost a lot of weight where he had to reverified his passport because he no longer has that chubby look to him. I had to reverified too, and my mom had joked that it was because i gained more pounds.
The next day, me and my dearest went shopping. We went shopping for clothes because he knew how much i wanted a denim skirt. I end up getting one, thanks to him. But i remember feeling anxious about trying stuff on. I had two different denim skirts and a pair of jeans. I entered the furthest changing room and looked at myself in the mirror. I never liked the way i looked. I took whatever pants i had on off and tried the jeans. It fits alright, not to tight and the length was perfect too. It didn't really help that we had to pick the largest size there since the comment from two of the women in my life echoed in my head. I convinced myself i needed a bigger size because im fat. Every shirt i picked, i told my beloved that i'd like a bigger size to hide the big boobs i have lol. but in reality, i feared it wouldn't fit me because i got fat. I had always convinced myself a bigger size never hurt because it means i could still wear it.
I feared trying out new styles because i fear my body will not cooperate with it. It felt like i was trying to hard to be pretty when i am not. I felt shame whenever i was next to him because i felt like i didn't fit the part. a pretty girlfriend. Maybe it was an image my mother had applied to me. I once wanted to try overalls, but my mother laughed saying i would look like a fisherman which could be true. My sister played a role in it too, saying i looked weird when i tried baggy jeans. So, i stuck with the same jeans and nirvana shirt and sport shoes that are easy to take off whenever i need to. Maybe with the occasional boots that hurt my feet too much.
Despite everything, i couldn't stop eating. i dread ever calorie i could devour, and each bite is like a knife going deeper into my chest. It is cyclic. Whenever i feel sad, i eat but when i eat, i get sad.
The clothes my boyfriend bought continues to be hung in my room. I admire how pretty it is and think how unfortunate it is for myself that i will never find the confidence to wear them again. maybe it is for the better.

Good evening or morning (wherever you are).... My request for today is Kaeya from genshin impact. What if he were to confess his love to a timid reader but *gasps* she reveals she has a boyfriend already. Smut is fine if you want.
Thank you so much 🦋
Thank you for requesting!! ♥ Part 2 of my trying to get back into smut OTL
Rated Lemon/Explicit!
»»———————— ♡ ————————««
Even after everything that happened, you weren't able to forget the look on Kaeya's face as you broke the news.
True, you and your boyfriend had wanted to keep your relationship on the low, but not because you tried to deceive your friends, just so you two could have some peace while finding out more about each other and developing your feelings. But you never meant for anyone to look at you so... disappointed. Even if you were happy with your choice of partner, having to reject someone dear to you still hurt.
"Oh, [Name]," Kaeya sighed, shaking his head. Of course, he wouldn't be happy to hear the person he just asked out confess that they had a boyfriend. Perhaps especially because you two had always been relatively close, even more so lately where you were out almost every day after work. You felt a tinge of regret not telling him earlier. Save him the embarrassment you assumed he must feel. Then again, how could you have known that the charismatic Kaeya had feelings for you? He could have any woman in town, so why had it to be you? Of all people, you wouldn't have expected Kaeya to confess his love to you. Even if you two always got along fine, you thought yourself to look rather gray next to the shining knight that Kaeya was. Someone who wasn't fit to be anything more than friends with him.
"W-We can still continue being friends?" was the best and stupidest comfort you could come up with on the spot. You saw his grimace of disapproval, and it took him a second to collect himself, taking a deep breath before pushing himself away from the wall he had leaned on after learning the truth. Kaeya truly appeared devastated by the realization that you were taken already, and part of you could understand him. Certainly, you had just ruined his night and whatever companionship you two had, just because you couldn't have been more open from the beginning. It would have at least saved him some heartache, if any.
"Friends?" Kaeya mumbled, unfolding his crossed arms as he walked back to your side, leaning on the backrest of your chair. Feeling uncomfortably cornered, you stood up, looking around you. The outside of the tavern was lonely, and Kaeya had chosen this place for his confession surely to avoid any curious listeners. There were still voices coming from inside Angel's Share, but the streets of Mondstadt were quiet at this time of the night, with only his smooth voice reaching out to you. "With all due respect..."
Wrapping his fingers around your chin, you were forced to look up, staring right back into the mocking expression of your 'friend', the mood suddenly shifting. You had regretted having to reject Kaeya's feelings before, Kaeya always having been a good friend to you and hurting him felt wrong. But you would come to regret it much more that you went outside with him, away from the safety of the masses.
"I'd rather be anything else than your 'friend'."
»»————————
"Come on, Dove! Say it! I'm better than him, aren't I?"
"N-No--"
Your attempt to refuse this assumption was meekly interrupted by your loud gasps as Kaeya pushed forward. The curve on his cock was so perfectly aligned inside of you, constantly hitting the good spots whenever he plowed it inside. A cocky grin was on his face as he showed you off in the reflection of the mirror before you, spread over his legs and hanging in his grip on you. It was the biggest taunt he could think of, constantly reminding you how good you were feeling despite your initial refusal of him.
The image inside of the mirror wasn't one you had ever seen of yourself. That sweaty, drooling mess of a human, eyes unfocused and yet filled with pleasure, was nothing you could relate to. And yet, except for the occasional blue strands of hair falling over your skin and peeking out from behind your shoulder, your brain recognized the sight as you. Still, it was hard to accept this side of yourself, especially with his marks and hands. All. Over. It.
Kaeya only laughed as you tried to refute him, smirking a cocky grin from behind you. "Oh? Did Mr. Boyfriend not touch you yet? Even though you're such a little slut?"
His hand falling between your legs, Kaeya first brushed up your thighs, causing you to squirm from the sensation. His hands were trained and roughed up from handling swords, but the way he used them showed how skilled he was. Settling at your clit, he slowed down the rocking of his hips for a moment to get his fingers wet with your juices before picking up the pace again. There was no way you could deny how you were feeling after riding him for the better portion of time ever since he brought you to this city apartment of his, your body shivering and moving on its own with his hand teasing your clit, the additional pleasure riling you up.
"Look at your cunt gaping open for me~" he purred, opening your lower lips wide for the mirror to reflect your exposed entrance. Seeing how his shaft disappeared inside you clearly, you only felt hotter from embarrassment, turning your head which was quickly caught by his free hand, Kaeya turning it forward again - painfully so. His grip wasn't even close to how he had touched you before when you two had still been 'only' drinking buddies. You weren't sure how long he had feelings for you, but you wagered that these feelings must have changed much in the last hour, just like his touch. It once had been so gentle, kind. But now, it was rough and demanding, leaving no room for how you felt.
"Let go!" you said firmly, tearing yourself from his grip to avoid looking at this strange self in the reflection. You felt ashamed and embarrassed. Kaeya made a fool out of you, now that he had you in this peculiar situation. It's not like you wanted to cheat on your boyfriend and betray him in any kind. But your body reacted positively to it, making Kaeya chuckle as you tightened around him after seeing yourself, "You are enjoying it a lot, aren't you?"
It brought tears to your eyes, knowing it was Kaeya deeply lodged inside of you, but your sobs were just another incentive for him to continue. You couldn't even blame him for that - they did sound a lot like sounds of pleasure that overtook their place. Soon you were back to gasping and moaning, glad you at least weren't begging him for more with how shameful you behaved.
"You can still leave him," Kaeya suggested. Though a smile still played around his lips before he hid them behind your shoulder, kissing it tenderly, he sounded very serious. "Leave him and stay with me. No one needs to know what kind of slut you are, going behind his back."
"But I didn't!" you sobbed. "You forced me too-- You forced yourself on me!"
Without hearing the sigh falling off Kaeya's lips, you found yourself breathing in sharply as he made a sudden push, burying his cock even deeper inside of you, the base of it touching your body. The gasp was followed by a long moan, tears streaming down your face after he exploited your sensitivity so much. It was a regrettable, disgusting moan signaling how much you enjoyed him hitting these sweet spots of yours.
Your gaze fell back to the mirror, showing the pleasure-stricken expression on your face. Even though you knew you shouldn't feel this way, Kaeya simply seemed to know all the right things to do, and he used all of them. It was bitter, but he did make you feel... erotic. Made you feel like something you never saw yourself as. Something your boyfriend couldn't make you feel.
With him, it was sugary-sweet puppy love, but with Kaeya, there was so much more. Desire, carnal at that. Love, demands, obsession. No matter how either of you moved your body, it was exciting, making your heart race. Every glance at yourself in the mirror made your body tingle, and every one of his pushes sent waves of excitement up your spine. You wished to have experienced these things with the person you truly loved instead of the hawk watching you from behind.
"I know," he mumbled, his hands driving up from your pussy to your chest, giving your breasts an equal squeeze. Taking in a sharp breath, you held back, instead having Kaeya be the one to groan lowly into your shoulder as you tightened around him. "I'll take so much better care of you than that boy. I can make you your true self, don't you think? You're wasted on everyone but me."
"Just finish it," you breathed heavily, and Kaeya sighed.
"As you wish."
Picking you up by the legs, Kaeya hoisted you up into the air, taking a few steps forward to stand right in front of the mirror. It was a breathtaking sensation to feel his cock carving you out from the dynamic motions, your walls gladly welcoming every inch before confining his member inside. You really could do without a closer look at how his cock slid in and out of you, sloppy sounds and tingling sensations running through you, but it almost made you wonder if you'd be able to experience the same sensations that Kaeya put you through, ever again once this was over.
"Hope you're ready for what you wished for," he reminded you, and you instantly began to realize alarming innuendos in his choice of words and the teasing tone of his voice, struggling in his hold.
"N-Not inside!" you yelled at him, slinging one arm over his head to be the one to tightly grip his face this time. "You can't cum inside!"
"Oh, really?" he taunted you. You squeezing his cheeks together didn't change the fact that he could grin like a Cheshire cat out of fairytales. "Give me one good reason not to."
"I can't bear your baby! I just can't!"
Grinning even wider, Kaeya let you drop a few inches to kiss your nose. "You'll need to do better than that."
Biting your lip, you thought about what he could want to hear from you, eventually realizing the level you'd have to stoop to. A baby would ruin everything, especially if it was Kaeya's baby. Even if things wouldn't turn out the worst way possible, it would still be a lifelong reminder of this ordeal he put you through. Your pride was worth nothing in exchange for the future you always wanted to have.
"P-Please..." you mumbled, the quick pace with which he was ramming into you making it hard to speak. At the same time, it urged you to hurry, as it wouldn't be long now before he'd fulfill the deed inside of you.
"I can't hear you~"
"Please don't cum inside me!"
Halting abruptly, Kaeya looked at the mirror image of you two, thinking for a split second before he resumed the pounding--this time, determined to finish. It was almost like you were hit by thunder, every movement releasing more shocks through you. You were a panting mess, but Kaeya wasn't far from it either. His eye would close halfway as he sunk into pleasure with you, both of you falling deeper and deeper into this hole.
Until it was finally over, your body curving and stretching, Kaeya's grip tightening to hold you throughout your orgasm, fingers digging into your supple thighs. Closing your eyes, you felt like flying, carried by a cloud, away from all the bad things and surrounded by the comforts and excitement that only intimacy could cause. You were almost lost in the orgasm before a part of you recalled the danger that was Kaeya, but much to your relief, when you opened your eyes again, he pushed in deep for the last time before suddenly lifting your up and off his cock.
Spurts of white semen shot through the air, landing on your reflection's stomach almost exactly where it would have landed inside of you. Both of you huffing, exhausted and spent, you watched as it dripped off the slick surface, leaving its stains there rather than inside of you.
Kaeya finally dropped you down, your legs unsteady, but his hold never ceased and kept you up. "Thank you..." you muttered, finding it hard to believe that after all he did, you were still thanking him for not cumming inside. Finding yourself in his arms rather than the ground, you refused the kiss he wanted to plant on your lips, instead turning your cheek, but Kaeya didn't seem to mind.
"I think you owe me something," he whispered into your ear before you felt his teeth bit into your lobe, making you flinch. "I did pull out like you asked me to."
"I owe you nothing, you... you bastard! You fiend! You...!" Your feelings took the upper hand as you heard what he demanded from you now. It was hard not to raise your voice when he dared to tell you about what you owed him after taking you against your will.
Laughing out loud, Kaeya quickly composed himself again, pretending to be hurt. "Ouch. I didn't know you knew these kinds of words."
A sudden rough pull in your hair yanked your head back, your body arching under the force and pressing against his while Kaeya towered over you, never letting his gaze stray from you. "Call me what you want. I don't care what you think, I'm not your friend, remember? I am anything but your stupid, little friend."
This time he took your mouth as he pleased, ramming his lips into yours and slipping his tongue down your throat. When he finally spoke again, his words were nothing but threatening to you, an anxious knot building in your stomach.
"That's why you'll break up with that asshole, you understand?"
"Why would I! Just leave me alone! You had what you wanted!"
"You still don't understand it," Kaeya sighed, releasing your hair briefly before tangling it around his fingers again, pulling you back even further and making you fear your spine would snap. "You are what I want! You belong to me! I was nice this time, but I will change if I must. Break up with him and make it easy for both of you. And then you'll come back to warm my bed, understand?"
Gulping, you put on a brave face, trying to face his stare head-on. This was getting out of control; you couldn't let him win with all his endeavors! No matter how you thought about Kaeya before, this wasn't the man you had come to like and appreciate in the past. He was something, but you could only hope it was still a human.
"And what if I don't?" you asked, using all the courage left inside of you.
"Oh darling, believe me," he laughed, unexpectedly pulling away all of his hands, your body unable to keep itself up and plummeting to the floor. Instant waves of shock and pain hit you, but when he stepped between your legs, you couldn't help but look up to him. How could you have been so wrong about a person you spent so much time with? Who was this man claiming to love you?
"You will do as I say, or everyone will know what kind of slut you really are. Especially your fine boyfriend. Who do you think the people will believe - their charming cavalry captain or some random chick that was seen laughing and hanging around him a lot?"
You opened your mouth to protest, wanting to prove him wrong, wanting to tell him Mondstadt cared about you as much as they did about him. But... was this wrong to assume? Would they really believe your word against his? With a reputation like Kaeya had, would you stand a chance to win against him? You couldn't imagine living a different life than you had so far, so would you be able to deal with the branding of a cheater? Realizing these questions, you closed your mouth again, scrambling to get up and collect your clothes from the ground. You were ready to storm out of the room, just go home and forget about everything that happened but reaching for the doorknob, Kaeya approached you from behind, holding the door shut with his hand.
"Don't hate me too much, okay? I really, really love you, [Name]."
He sounded anxious as he whispered these words against your head, leaving a trail of kisses. How could you believe this? How could you believe any of what he was saying? Just now, he had forced you into a level of intimacy you hadn't been ready for, threatened you, and made demands. And now he came to you, showing these rare moments of vulnerability and insecurity that made you special before all of this went down. What could you still believe about Kaeya?
"This isn't love," you mumbled, twisting and turning the knob to leave, deciding you couldn't listen to his voice anymore.
"You'll come to understand that this is love," Kaeya chuckled. You could hear the bittersweet smile on his lips as he planted one more kiss on top of your shoulder before he pushed himself away, letting you escape into the night.
Only when the cold, fresh air engulfed your heated body could you finally collect your thoughts. Your body ached, and yet, it tingled with every step, remembering you of the pleasure you had experienced through him. Disgusted and appalled by yourself, you made your way back home, crying the whole time, wondering what went wrong.
It was all Kaeya's fault, right? He went mad and did these unspeakable things to you. He was jealous because you had a boyfriend already and rejected him. None of this was your fault... right? But at the same time, would he make these threats come true? Was there really no other way than to break up with your boyfriend? Could you do nothing but obey his demands if you wanted to keep living your life? Was the love he had for you really love?
These questions kept you up all night.
All while Kaeya sipped on his drink, satisfied with himself, studying the image of you he had in his mind and the cum stains on his mirror. Stains he only planned to add to but never get rid of.
Just like you'd never get rid of him.

Mermaids exist in stardew, yes? So imagine a mermaid farmer for Zhongli, Kaeya and Diluc it could be in Yandere setting or not. I just wanna know their reaction when they found out and how it’ll effect their relationship. Will it brew angst, love, or both
Part of your world [Genshin x Mermaid!Reader]{Stardew Impact series}
Tumblr media
Synopsis: You came from the sea and he takes you through a journey of what it was like to live on land despite your differences.
Genre: Fluff
Characters: Diluc, Kaeya, Childe, Zhongli
"I threw in Childe because I had an idea for him xD It's fluff month so everything is going to be happy from now on >.>"
=============================
{Diluc}
It was a hot summer day when Diluc first found you lying unconscious ashore. You had just swam far and wide from the ocean world, the climate deemed unideal for your case. With no one else around, he took the initiative to help you out of your situation.
He shortly found out by the slight appearances of scales gracing your legs that you were neither a human or someone coming from the town nearby. As legendary as mermaids are, Diluc wanted nothing to do with you. His beginning plan was to find your relatives and send you out of his house (Additional work isn’t welcomed when he has so much already). However, you latched onto him pretty quickly since he was the one who saved you.
Here stands a human, a creature that you always wanted to interact with, in your perspective he may look a little stern but he must have plenty of knowledge to offer based on all the antiques he owns.
The only problem was that you two had no way to communicate. Different worlds meant different languages. Whenever Diluc told you that you couldn’t stay, all you did was tilt your head and whenever you tried expressing what you wanted to say, well, normally bubbles would come out of your mouth since they were an indication for your words.
He gave up on trying to kick you out and simply allowed you to take residence as long as you stayed out of his workaholic life. You would tend to his farm while he was absent on other matters and feeding animals in the barn (a lot to do but a win-win situation now that you were able to discover what it was like to live on land at the same time). Though you were also a handful, most of the time Diluc had to excuse himself from his desk when you thought the rake was some sort of hair brush and he forbade you from using the bulldozer. Quite honestly you caused him a lot of stress. He spent most of his hours teaching you and before he knew, it was already a habit of his.
The only words you knew were three words. If you wanted to eat you would say ‘fish’. If you were thirsty, you would say ‘water’. If it was anything else, you would say ‘Diluc.’
He allows you to take long baths since he knows how hydrated mermaids must stay at all times. Orders a pool to be built in his front yard (at least this way helps him save his costly electricity bills). Diluc also borrows books from the library museum for you to read, anything that you would find interesting, (mostly they were about alphabets and picture-based stories (it felt like he was raising a child).)
Easily gets worried when you step into town with him, he keeps a watchful eye in case you collapse and extra bottles when you need a drink. Most of the time, he had to keep an eye on you since you had the natural instinct to waltz into whatever interested you, such as dancing in annual festivities (which you dragged him along of course). It was how he grew attached to your presence because you truly knew how to appreciate the world around you when he himself was too busy to do so.
Two worlds merged and he was learning how to live in yours too, how you perceive things. Building sandcastles, collecting seashells, listening to the echoes resounding within them. Activities he thought were unnecessary suddenly gained the meaning he had lost long ago. Diluc grew too fast at maximum speed, trying to get as many things done as he could, until he was pulled back by the emotional waves of your kindness and compassion, onto the shore he failed to live on. How ironic reality can be.
{Childe}
Everyone knew how much Childe loved to fish. He sets out at sea every evening to capture a batch of flounders, hopefully stumbling upon a legendary one.
In a way, he did. Just not what he expected. What he pulled out of the waters seemed to be a human-sized fish sitting upon the other residues caught in between. ‘A mermaid…?’ he thought, still digesting the fact in front of him. (No wonder the net felt so heavy).
At the same time he wanted to take you with and sell you for a good price but knew how mad Tonia would get when she found out. So he lets you go free. The thing is, you swam behind his boat and followed him back to land. This was how your relationship with Childe started, to this day he continues to jest upon that memory.
Tonia took most of the responsibility to coach you about human life. One of them was table etiquette, before you ate with only your hands which caused a mess. Childe would laugh hysterically at it until Tonia reminded him, “This is also what happens when you use chopsticks, big brother.”
Teucer invites you to basically anything since you have so much patience. Childe shortly realizes that he was soon going to be replaced as the eldest caretaker and you couldn’t even talk at that time. So it was only fair that he included himself in the circle while interacting with your way of communicating: sign language (Surprisingly, he was naturally good at it. Though his movements are rather exaggerated and...ungraceful).
You were nice enough to accompany him to his fishing tasks and soon enough became your daily activities. Childe takes the lead as you follow him from the side, sometimes he lets go of the steering wheel and allows you to push the boat instead (he kept a note to himself that in your mermaid mode, your strength multiplied by a large number). Other times he felt a little risky and decided to jump in the ocean with you for a swimming session. It worried you immensely but your anxiety subsided when you saw how much fun he was having and for the rest of the time, you both explored what the ocean had to offer.
Childe used to be a fish-cook enthusiast. Not anymore (since that day you cried when glancing at the flounder dish he placed on the table). He had to stick to seaweed or any other plant-based meals with a little bit of meat but too much would cause your stomach to churn. Since his siblings complained at the sudden change, he had to make a separate meal plan for them. With a mermaid in the house was certainly high-maintenance indeed.
Cuddling with you in front of the cracking fire blazing under the chimney was one of the calmest moments indulged himself in. He often chooses the life where the waves crash constantly, anticipating a thrilling storm that comes ahead. But you were just a lull at the sea, the mediator he needed in times where his siblings needed a mother-figure. Sometimes he fears that you would leave him and return to where your true family lives but he was grateful that you chose him above all else. He was grateful that by chance, he captured you at sea. One thing he loved about life was the unpredictability the future brings, including the blessings. Even if you were a creature from far away, in your presence he felt like he was truly at home.
{Kaeya}
When the tides rose above his head, Kaeya was sure that he was done for. The surfboard he recently stood upon slips off beneath his feet and he falls into the ocean’s merciless waves. No oxygen, no time to catch his breath amidst the impact, his eyes were slowly closing and the last thing he saw was the sun’s light beyond the heavy surface, along with the murky visual of someone swimming in front of it.
Although he almost drowned, the idea of being saved by a pretty mermaid makes up for the fact (He has a natural tendency to flirt at anything eye-catching even if you were an outlandish being). You on the other hand was confused by his advances as you couldn’t understand a word he was saying, hence you swam away.
Those beginning days when you chose to explore the land, Kaeya remembers how much trouble you had with walking using your new legs. He had to hold both your hands while leading you forward, he found it rather cute when you tighten your grip the moment you felt that he was going to let go (he was only bluffing of course but you still hissed at him). Still, Kaeya ensures that you don’t fall to the ground, he catches you in time when you collapse while laughing, “You’re doing great sweetheart.”
In return you teach him how to read the ocean’s movements so that he won’t drown again. Kaeya spends more time around the beach since he knows that the water bodies are where you were most comfortable with. He tells you that you always smell like saltwater whenever he buries his face in your hair, perhaps that was how he grew attached to the ocean as well.
In summer seasons there were several days where you had to sleep in his bathtub because the air was so dry. As a mermaid, he had to tolerate many of your unique quirks, in this case he had to deal with showering in cold water since you took up all the electricity. Another case was your wine tolerance, no one could challenge you to a drinking contest when your body could sustain large amounts of liquids. Kaeya sometimes jokes if you could turn him into a merman like those in fairytale books so he can have the same experience. You take it as a joke while he was also being half-serious.
When you have to take a temporary trip home, Kaeya visits the dock every evening and waits for you to come back, trying to see any signs of your colourful tail. He glances at the ocean he grew to love, knowing where he stood is as far as he could go and anywhere beyond the boundary was out of his reach. So many people left him in his life and even though he knew you wouldn’t do the same, he still worries. Uncertain if you would abandon him too.
Your existence became the center of his life the moment you chose to walk upon land with him. Side by side, through small hurdles the seashore and hurdles as big as the wave that almost killed him the day he met you, Kaeya keeps them all as if they were the most precious treasure a pirate could find. It didn’t matter if you were different from everyone else because despite your tail, all he could see was you.
{Zhongli}
While Zhongli strolls along the sandy beach, he follows the alluring sound of your singing voice. You sat upon the rock while humming along what seems to be an old folk tune, similar to what Guizhong once sang. The man folds his arms and closes his eyes. Many years have passed since he last heard something like this, “Your voice, it’s very lovely.”
He was a geologist who worked by the museum, collecting different types of rocks and seashells that would wash up shore. You became very familiar with his daily routine that before he pays a visit to the beach again, a pile of interesting rocks would be waiting for him by the docks. It was a gift. And Zhongli would bring snacks like seaweed soup as an accommodation for your kindness.
Unlike Kaeya, when you couldn’t walk because your legs were too weak to be used, Zhongli helps you with every step along the way even if the trip was a slow one. He even offered to have you carried when he saw you were having too much trouble but you insisted on trying. The whole trip that usually took ten minutes was a three hour walk.
Even though he knew many things, your language was not one of them. However he was willing to learn. Both of you have study sessions regarding each other’s culture. For you it’s the way humans drink with cups because of Zhongli being a tea fanatic himself, he even showed you how to hold a tea cup properly. You taught him how to swim since he had been so occupied on land that swimming never crossed his mind. Thankfully he was naturally good at it due to his tall stature (albeit a little scared when diving into an environment unknown and different to him).
Zhongli loves the way you sing and he would ask every time he wanted to read a book. Either under the tree on a warm spring day or on the couch when it was storming outside. Although he intended to get some reading done, Zhongli can’t help but fall asleep. You didn’t want to wake him up (and you could carry him if you wanted to thanks to your mega-mermaid strength) so by morning, you’d find yourselves in the same spot and your lap feeling numb.
Earth and sea were separated for a reason so that the creatures may stay upon the place where they belong. That wasn’t enough to separate you from him though. Zhongli would travel to the sea to see you and you mustered the courage to walk upon the hard surface of land. The two were only parts of the world but together they are part of the world, connected to form a whole new life.

My 4444-word review of NEO TWEWY (with personal illustration + heavy spoilers)
Tumblr media
My overall critical score for the game is 7.5/10, while my personal enjoyment score is 8.5/10. This review is posted as I have 80% completed the game, got the secret ending and achieved the Angel psychic rank. I’ll first start with the main pros and cons as follows.
PROS:
-        Enjoyable as a whole, still upholding the first game’s spirit in world building and sharing the same backbone - which was mostly revealed in the Secret Reports, it’s impossible to grasp the story without reading them.
-        The new cast and new game is charming in their own way
-        The old cast’s return is one of the biggest highlights for sure, it was fun and impactful. Everyone stays true to themselves and also had their own stories wrapped up nicely.
-        Boss designs are cool, new pins are fun to use and collect
-        The connection between the old and new cast is well written and executed, including but are not limited to the tension between the old and new protagonist, the weird but fun interaction between the 2 Composers, the new friendships revealed and formed
-        Sho being in the main cast is something so uniquely TWEWY and uniquely Sho
-        Still good music
-        Still many fun side quests, some of them really uphold the same quirky spirit of the old game and some are surprisingly touching
-        Many new nice stores and yummy looking foods to explore
-        The map is really easy to memorize for me, it’s fun to travel around the “current” Shibuya to see all the differences compared to the past
-        The social network is crazy and interesting to read through
-        Has an anti-frustration system to help 100% complete the game more easily and earn money faster, so post-game is relatively managable.
-        Overall, I really feel the efforts the team poured into making this as their passion project, not just during the development process but for all the last 14 years. They showed the vision of what they wanted to make, at the same time giving something to both the old as well as new fans.
CONS:
-        The biggest problem with the game is scenario writing. The story is so heavily back-loaded. The director himself thought it would be better to balance out the tension flow by adding more at the beginning but gave in to the scenario writer in the end, probably due to time pressure. This results in an underwhelming execution of characterization and lots of wasted potentials for the first half of the game.
-        I struggle to view it as a stand-alone game, since the backstory and the old cast both play such an important role in the core of the game. If someone plays this game without having played the OG, they can only enjoy it on surface value at best.
-        The new cast is nice but most of them aren’t quite as intriguing as the old cast, maybe it’s cuz they’re all too nice deep down that they lack a little bit of an edge, of that batshit craziness that everyone in the OG used to have? I think some characters (Fret, Nagi) ended up weaker in terms of characterization because the writer is too afraid of making them unlikeable – which kind of backlashed cuz they only became likable in the most expectable way to cater for a specific group of fans. I would have wished for the other team leaders to be more crazy too, had they not suffered 30+ loops of the Game…
-        The CAMERAWORK IS HELL.
-        Gameplay does get tedious at certain points with all the time travels.
-        Shiba is so badly written as a villain, some Shinjuku characters should be given more screentime cutting into Shiba’s– like Hishima or Kaie or even, Hazuki (though his limited presence also solidified his importance).
-        Some of the main character designs, for example Beat’s hairstyle and his food reactions are hilariously bad. What’s the point of covering up most of his unique facial features?
-        Some of the minor/side characters’ design are too cool for them to have such a small role (eg: Ayano, Eiru). Ryoji did get much screentime but is nowhere as fun as Makoto was.
-        Overall the scope of this game is made a little too big for the team to handle as perfectly as the last game that was very compact, it felt somewhat rushed in development too so the missing pieces are clearly there in the final picture
The entry fee versus paying for it all in the end
An important difference between the Neo game and the original Shibuya game was that the Shibuya rule asked for an entry fee that is the Player’s most important asset, stated as a chance the Composer gives them to reexamine themselves. Meanwhile, the Shinjuku rule neither encourages nor allows personal growth and ultimately aims to erase as many Players as possible. It’s a pity we were never introduced to the full Shinjuku rulebook, as it seems like the system there focuses more on building up power and a grand government to compare with the individuality-driven system of Shibuya.
When you have to compare the new game and the original game (OG), this is an important factor to consider. Also, the OG has a serious storyline running through and through, locked with a different partner/GM creating unique atmosphere for each week and you don’t get to see your old partners again until the end. NEO’s team system does not allow such deep insight and communication between the Players. All of your teammates are always there throughout, the dynamic does change with each new addition but it is not as prominent as a partner change.
Another important factor is how the OG was built from scratch for a new platform as “something no one has ever seen before”, while Neo recycled a lot of old unused ideas from the previous development (check out this interview for more details). The development team for NEO lacks 2 key members and had a change of writer so the final product is not as strongly bound together as the last game.
The new cast is definitely inspired by today’s teenagers (from the view of creators), compared to the old cast they’re more sociable and always seem to take whatever works for them despite feeling unstable inside. They are all innocent and genuinely nice kids, avoiding to hurt each other to a degree that they end up keeping some sort of distance. They’re also unable to communicate at deeper levels, always stagnant at this half-baked stage of equilibrium without any motivation to get to the core of things. That is the cost of entering the game without an entry fee, without even dying or having a reason to be there/to fight seriously. These kids were stolen from the RG into a Game that was decidedly the worst environment for them to change or develop, just wandering around cluelessly to find a way “out” until tragedies started to unfold one by one and they ended up being charged the total sum of the price for their actions – ultimately losing everything in the end.
That is, I believe, a story arc which can resonate more to the youth of today rather than of my generation. If the message of the old game was to “listen”, enjoy life to the fullest and accept to trust others, the message of the new game is to “speak up” from the inside, trying to understand yourself and take actions instead of just going with the flow and finally, to take responsibility for such actions.
If Neku was handpicked by the Composer for being the special one with an all-dense soul to ensure victory of the game then Rindo was just a normal kid chosen out of random by Kubo to be his back-up plan, who just happened to have a high enough imagination to awaken the incredible power from his pin. Rindo was then officially chosen by the Composer as Josh picked up and handed the pin to him again, this time not as Josh’s personal Proxy – but as the Proxy to represent the normal people of Shibuya and via whom he could gamble if humans can fight for their own fate.
The underworld heroine and the hero with little of his own
Tumblr media
Shoka is for me a refreshing and layered heroine. She’s the kind of character that took at least 3 trials of creators to form as a complete individual – that included Nomura who gave her the base design and Reaper background, Gen who gave a more cunning touch and the writers who made her English dialogues more punchy. Dishonesty equals “tsundere” is such a cliché, so the English writers tried really hard to avoid that trope in my opinion, while still letting her good intention come through.
She serves as the character who is informed of everything the players should have known, and there was almost nothing she could do about it. Almost. Until she met Rindo.
They were drawn to each other by sharing a state of “not having anything of their own”. They both started out with not being able to truly know themselves, Shoka even hated her RG life but also managed to mature from that stage before Rindo. She must have vibed with Shiki’s love and passion in the Gatto Nero threads, initiating her connection with Shibuya and understanding herself more. With Shoka as Swallow, they were able to open up to each other and offer mental support… but was still not getting to the centre of their problems because for all this time, Shoka could not tell Rindo the most important things about herself.
How did Shoka feel when she met Rindo at the UG? She probably didn’t want to hope that he would live the day until she witnessed the Twisters’ potentials. From the very beginning, they were both incredibly conscious of each other and also constantly frustrated that the person they happened to “notice” was such a condescending bitch/a clueless loser. The Shinjuku Reapers are overall quite drunk in power and uncompassionate to Players, Shoka included. She is also a master of dissociation, which results in her constant boredom, tone swings, haughtiness and subconsciously distancing herself from the friend – the boy she cares about – from false hope, as she judged from facts that it was a hopeless situation where nothing could ever be. Maybe she is naturally a bit of a chameleon just like her name suggests (Shoka 紫陽花 = hydrangea, the color-changing flower), so putting on an act and always dissociating herself from what’s important was easy, while hiding her contradiction was impossible. It was the ex-Reaper Beat who broke it out to her, that she should decide whether she really cared and wanted to do something for a change. He knew how it felt like to cross that line, and knew she wanted to too.
Shoka is endeared by many of the Shinjuku Reapers and has shown independent acts of kindness (the Shinjuku ghost), proving that her kind and truthful side is as real as her harsh and dishonest side – which makes her a nice mirror to the previous heroine Shiki, who also embraced a dichotomy of self-complex and self-love within her character. In the end, she was the first of the new cast to ultimately accept all that is important to her and independently made the decision to help save Shibuya despite all costs.
She was jealous at Rindo’s interaction with Tsugumi and Kanon but remained silent cuz she wasn’t at a place to have any say about it. She also didn’t reveal about Swallow because that would only add an awkward irrelevance to their current situation, as she was too ready to face erasure at the end of the Game. She only wished to “play a game” with him, be it FanGo or the Reapers’ Game. The tension that the team could only feel at the end, she’s felt it the entire time. The song “DIVIDE” is applicable to not just one bond in the game, but it always makes me think of theirs. There is always a “divide” between her and Rindo throughout the course of their journey, as the living and the dead, as a Player and Reaper, as someone who has a place to return to and someone who doesn’t, someone who knows little but wields too much power and someone who knows a lot despite not being able to do much.
“If only I had the chance to connect with you on the other side
But time goes on, and without us realizing it
The battle is getting heated
Time goes on, and without us realiazing it
Divided again”
To be honest, maybe I didn’t grow any affection for the new main cast from Rindo’s perspective but from Shoka’s. Since I started to sympathize with Shoka, I started to see the boy in a more “real” way. The real Rindo, behind his peaceful façade with others, would lash out on Shoka for her unfairly harsh attitude while none of the others cared. He could also subtly feel that mantle of unspoken secrets from her, her own contradictions, the unresolved chemistry between themselves – and not knowing what to do with it rather than to feel angry with all the unfairness he could not process. (As a Libra too, he’s triggered the most by unfairness!)
It is actually a positive development as he’s at least “reacting” to something strongly now rather than to keep evading his problems. During my replay, I clearly saw the difficult situation Shoka was in, her remaining harshness after the Motoi incident was due to her internal struggle with a mission to save her own life, versus a chance to really be with the team. Her decision was to do both at the risk of losing favour from both sides. Rindo started to accept her layer by layer, as the person who resonated the most to her contradicting nature from the start and knew that via learning her resolve, he has learnt his too.
Later into the game, she even got too much of his attention. Maybe even without knowing she’s Swallow, he’s familiar with her thinking direction and Swallow had always been closer to him than any other friend. It was only after she had to betray her important ones twice that she could start being truly honest. The scene when she died a 2nd time left a strong impression in me, the little reveal let Rindo know that he is also losing Swallow as he’s losing Shoka – and that only death could drive the last secret out of her. Her final “Later, loser” echoed through Rindo as it was the final truth, with only him remaining to hear it: they had actually, already lost everything.
Rindo was the boy who never dared to face all that matters to him until he lost it all, fighting an unfair battle in the faith that they would somehow still win. Shoka was the girl who always knew what was dear to her, but never dared to think she could be together with them ever after and still threw her all into a battle she knew was losing. I think they stir each other on naturally to fill out their gaps, similar to what the Shibuya game partner systerm would have aimed for. The end reward was a little divine intervention to help close up the divide between them once and for all.
During the game there was not enough space to process anything personal so at the ending when they officially became “friends”, it was an important affirmation of their bond. Some people complained it was friendzoning but it’s not, they just have arrived at the perfect place to start something more. “From now on, we will truly be together” – I read it as that kind of message.
The heroine from a lost battle, with her story taken away
Tumblr media
After reading the secret reports and playing the game to be surprised of how small a role Tsugumi had in the main game despite being the “Hype-chan” thought to be a major character of the next TWEWY installment, many fans would feel sad at a missed opportunity to see the Shinjuku arc in full depiction.
It was shown clearly that, a Shinjuku arc was very carefully planned out and is a vital part of the whole story, yet it could not be made due to various circumstances behind the development scene. I would assume, that the team were not able to make a TWEWY game that ended on a despairing note, but it already happened in their mind, thus becoming a mental burden that forced them to break away from it and started the game anew with NEO. A significant part of NEO became the healing arc for the Shinjuku characters, especially for Tsugumi though I really wished more emphasis should have been placed on her rather than Shiba. We didn’t even get to see her brother – Shinjuku’s Conductor who had a vital role and instead was given the clueless Shiba, who had absolutely no idea what’s going on all the way until the last day in NEO. It’s as if Tsugumi has had her story stolen away from her, because her own battle ended with a saddening loss.
I think every time the game creators look at Tsugumi, they would feel that sadness too. Maybe to them, she is a bigger character than what is seen by the fans, as despite their failed effort to depict her story, she’s lived in their mind for all these years through periods of destruction, healing and rebuild.  Though it is a pity we could not get to experience the full scope of the Shinjuku story, the creators was clear about the place they wished for it to arrive at.
Individuality, connection and the social network
Tumblr media
The team system adapted from Shinjuku rulebook does not allow much room for personal development, as the team dynamic is closer to a work relationship forced to bear results, than a spiritual bond to max out all corners of understanding as found in the partnership system. The old Shibuya system allowed only 1 winner and 1 week limit per game, while the new rule declares for a 1 winning team and only the team at last place will be erased – the other teams will enter another loop. Furthermore, whichever team to challenge the unwinnable Ruinbringers will face the risk of ending up dead last followed by erasure. As a result, the longest-standing teams are most likely not the strongest ever recorded, but the ones who have figured out a strategy to simply survive until something changes, enjoying their newly found social constructs while they are at it. Basically, it is a system to hypnotise players into the illusion that they are still “living”.
Therefore, we as players would not get to the core of each Player individually as fast and directly as we did in the last game. The Twisters were able to stand out not because they’re powerful, they only started to have a real chance after growing enough to each form a meaningful and personal connection to another teammate. It did not come as a team, nor did it intiate from the existing friendship between Rindo and Fret. In fact, I did not find much solidity or anything truly note-worthy about the main team and new characters within themselves until they started clashing with other team members, Reapers and new recruits from week 2 onwards. Rindo found his personal development with Shoka (via a clash with Motoi and pretty much a mini dating sim between them), then via the confrontation of his role with Neku; Fret found his with Kanon then Nagi, the team learned about the real Neku via Beat, Neku entered the UG via Coco’s wish to save Tsugumi… it was not the team but their personal links that empowered them to fight and solve each of their problems.
The other team leaders may have failed because they did not form such personal links, after 30+ hopeless loops Fuya’s team all fell apart to pursue their own interest even at the cost of erasure, Motoi quit his KOL façade to work like a dog for the Reapers (probably to save just his own ass not his team), while Kanon dropped her tricks to find changes via honest cooperation in acceptance of a fair loss. The despairing note in that is huge without making much of a scene because their failure didn’t happen at their best effort to “win”, but in their last attempt to find a way “out”. Even Shiba got his way “out” in the end thanked to his personal friendship with Hishima and Tsugumi.
Something has shifted in the mindset of the game creators in the last 14 years, as both games are about “connection vs individuality” but the last game focuses more on connection between just individuals and this one on the overall network that is formed out of those individual connections.
The introduction of Beat into the main cast was truly the bridge between old and new, they helped each other out in several turns before officially recruiting him. Beat is a character whom a lot of fans including myself have felt somewhat concerned about after Neku disappeared from the RG, so when the new kids welcomed Beat with warm and organic interaction and Beat seemed happy, I started to feel like I wanted to help them out too! I think the overall team chemistry is enjoyable enough for new players, but I could warm up to the new kids more from the pov of a returning character – whom I’m glad to be Beat, as the older brother figure who is genuinely kind, fun, serious and upbeat at the same time; who is needed and needs the kids in return.
The social network is a fun and refreshing feature. You can read all of the crazy tidbits about Shibuya and the links each character have formed with the town people, it’s also fun to visualize how the characters act off screen. Characters’ profiles provide extra insight into their background too, like how it reveals Tsugumi has been friend with Coco during her time in the RG. During the game when not all characters have showed up, you can sometimes guess which empty spot will belong to whom. For example there is a 1 character linking to Neky that is not linked to anyone else, so I could guess that was Joshua, and that another character linking only to Joshua was probably Hazuki, hinting that the 2 Composers are related before either of them even showed up.
Tumblr media
Hazuki only showed up for 5 minutes, but his presence is so vital and true to the game that I think he is the most memorable out of the new cast. The two Composers have such an intriguing bond, with their yin/yang or phoenix/dragon themes, opposite color design, the sempai/kouhai tone and the way they keep some sort of distance/work relationship as if it’s mandatory between Higher beings, yet at the same time they can talk so casually because they are truly equal – and different from one another. I have written a separate meta on them here.
Some people pointed out, that all Shinjuku characters’ names and themes are based off Hanafuda cards and the Phoenix in Hanafuda belongs to the Paulownia suit – which is Joshua’s name flower. This is so interesting because it feels like the creators somehow saw it as a sign to interweave the Shibuya and Shinjuku storylines together. Though it doesn’t come out much on the surface, it’s fascinating nonetheless considering both Josh and Haz had at some point interfered with the other town’s affairs.
“Shibuya tour with Haz” was such a special scene, as it happened between 2 characters who do not/no longer have a reason to care about Shibuya, on the subject of what is worth saving about Shibuya. Hazuki carried out the purification of Shinjuku and stepped in to restore Shibuya just as part of his job and unlike Hanekoma or Joshua who both possess profound understanding of humanity, he really didn’t know humans at all. Rindo’s irrational wish invoked in him a sense of curiosity, to try gambling on something irrationally and learning a bit of what his senior have experienced. With all the pieces put together, it provides an overview on Higher beings as a whole, and that Joshua and Hanekoma are really the odd ones out with Hazuki being somewhere in between them and the rest.
The old friends
Tumblr media
It’s easy to have returning characters overshadow the new cast as they have already matured out of their personal story arc and stayed in our hearts for all this time. In the end, I have managed to enjoy both the old and new cast separately and altogether, and they will both find their own place in our memory of this game for the long term.
Sho is truly as crazy as ever, the game wouldn’t be the same if Sho is any less of what he is. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like Neky or Beat is younger than Nagi at all, with moments when it seems like Neky has aged 14 years instead of 3 years. His friendship with Coco surprised me pleasantly, and their interaction together with Beat was fun to watch. Rhyme’s found a new dream and her friendship with Kaie is precious too, especially considering that she can still talk to him online after the game ended. Josh and Neku’s interaction suggested that they have resolved the past and are on equal terms now, they even parted ways in good spirit and I don’t feel any worry about them like I did before.
Tumblr media
Neku and Shiki’s reunion scene was beautiful, theirs is such a special bond that it has grown and supported them even without being able to see each other. I am so happy to see them all again and that they stay true to who they are, albeit looking more grown up, cooler and happier than ever before.
Overall, NEO can’t become a classic on par with the OG, but is definitely a good sequel and a good game in its own rights. I’m happy with whether or not there will be a 3rd game to complete the 3 monkeys theme, but if there will be – I hope the creators can really find the time to learn from the last 2 games and start over with a fresh mindset and strong core.

HCs abt an S/O of Lady D's who's struggling to get her daughters' approval? It's rarely addressed in fanfics, but y'all.. becoming a stepparent is a hard and frustrating journey, especially when mama and kids have such tight bonds. Makes small wins feel so rewarding, tho! What are your thoughts on that? How would D react, how would she help? (or make it harder, in true possessive Mother Hen™ fashion..) Which flybaby would warm up to S/O first? How would S/O try to win each of them over, etc..?
Oooh this is a really cool thought! Not that I have a lot of experience with stepparents but yeah, changes and adjustments in family dynamics like that can't be easy. I think I'm gonna have some fun with this.
When the Dimitrescu sisters found out you were the human dating their mother, at first they were mostly indifferent. Not like it's their business as to who Alcina gets it on with anyway (and they could also be thinking you would quickly turn to lunch if you fuck up badly enough, in which case they would gladly join her in the feast.)
They might quip with you sometimes, but for the most part, you're left alone.
But when they realized you were here to stay and might become a parental figure in their life... oh boy.
You're telling them they have to answer to you now? A mere mortal? On what grounds? Just because you have sex with their mom? They think the fuck not.
Hell, they're individually old enough to be your parent, so truly... what the fuck?
(Part of that fear of you joining the family may come from thinking that Alcina now has someone else to preoccupy herself with, so there's less time for them. Perhaps even less love for them. They can't have that. That can't happen.)
As for your partner's reaction? She's kind of torn. On one hand, she understands how her daughters feel about having a new family member suddenly join the dynamic -- someone they barely know relative to each other. You could have been around for a few years, but they've been all together for more than half a century, and they're doing just fine.
On the other, she wants to see you all getting along. She loves you and wants you to be a part of her life, and of course she also loves her daughters with all her heart.
She's not really sure what to do, so she kind of... ends up not doing anything.
But she is curious as to what you'll do about the situation though, since the sisters would hardly make it a secret that your presence is an annoyance at best, completely unwanted and unwelcome at worst.
Bela, surprisingly, might be the hardest to win over. You would think that, as the eldest, she should be the one to lead by example and be the mature one. Plus, she's always looking for her mother's approval, so approving of you may get her on her good side (and yours.)
But she's very opposed to change, especially one that affects her life this much when it's not her choice.
She lets Cassandra and Daniela get away with pulling harmless pranks on you to get under your skin, or make Alcina mad at you. She pretends to not have a direct hand in them and would passive-aggressively remark on whatever they did.
Oh, your clothes were misplaced and looking for new ones made you late to a date with the Lady? "None of them were very nice anyway. This is doing you a favor."
You found dog poop under your bed and now you reek? "I don't smell that much of a difference."
Getting doused in sticky honey and molasses somehow? "At least Mother has a reason to think you're sweet now."
They would never do anything to hurt you, not unless they want to incur their mother's wrath or sadness, just... little things (hopefully enough to get you to leave.)
But luckily, if you're a patient and persistent person, they (ever so) slowly warm up to you in different ways.
The most important thing to remember is that they're different people despite having a lot of things in common, so your manner of approaching them will have to vary for each sister.
Daniela might be the easiest to win over, such a sociable little fly. She might try to be standoffish at first, but if you bring up a book series that she enjoys reading as a topic for conversation, she can and will keep you there for hours talking about the characters, dissecting certain themes, and explaining her theories of the inner machinations of the plot.
If you actually start reading it upon her recommendation, she becomes ecstatic. Finally, someone other than her sisters she can explain these theories to! And someone who can actually relate and add on to them!
Eventually, she'll come to realize that having you around won't mean the end of their family. It just means they're getting more out of it -- a new member to love, and one who loves them.
Cassandra might be a little territorial about her current interests, so you'll have to take on a different approach.
Maybe try introducing her to something that peripherally matches what she likes now. She seems to really like hunting and torture to take her aggression out on, so uh... maybe try martial arts?
It would be more fun if it was something the both of you were new at, so you could bond over attempting to do things together. Nothing says "I want to get to know my stepdaughter better" like letting her throw you to the mat and laugh in excitement when she gets the technique right.
She is still very stubborn though, so she may take a while to fully convince. Even when it seems like you're on her good side, there's a tiny bit of denial. But she'll come around, no matter how reluctant.
Finally, as for Bela, she just needs to see that, though most of her family now genuinely likes you, that it doesn't have to change a thing about how they feel about her either. They're not going to abandon her or anything that drastic just because someone new has entered their lives.
Seeing her sisters approve of you can be jarring, no matter how long or gradual the process may have been. Like, weren't they switching out your shampoos and putting snakes in your closet last year? Why is everyone buddy buddy now? (Why are they leaving her behind?)
She'll start to act bitter toward everyone, feeling like she's been betrayed and shut herself away. She doesn't even want to see her own mother anymore.
But eventually, you have to talk to Alcina to do something too -- she could see you were making an effort, but she's not making it clear to her daughters what exactly was happening. She should be the first to approach Bela regarding the subject, along with her sisters.
You may need some time alone with her as well to drive the point home too. Having more people in the family doesn't mean less love, but in fact it means more, because now you're there to care for her too.
And she has to admit that seeing her mother care for you, having her sisters like you, it didn't really feel like they were any different towards her. They were more insistent in getting her to spend time with you, sure, but other than that... things were mostly the same.
The acceptance may be begrudging at first, but when she actually gets used to this new norm, she'll come around.
If you want to bond with her, you can teach her something. She likes learning new things, and she'll start to warm up to you more if she has reason to keep going to you to get this new information.
It can be anything -- music, arts, sports, cooking, you name it. Even introducing her to new technology will help get on her good side. You'd be surprised at how quickly she gets into it that you start to wonder why it was so hard to get her to like you in the first place.
Also, just talk to her. As a person, as your new daughter, whatever. Just acknowledge her and be honest. She appreciates the little things.
All in all, it's going to be tough. The journey will have its ups and downs, and not everything is going to be smooth sailing. Communication is key, though, as with any sort of relationship. Let the girls know you care for them just as much as you love and care for their mother. In a way, that's all they really want.
But they're not calling you "mom/dad/parental unit". First name basis with a stepparent (affectionate) all the way.

Hello!
Sorry this took a little while.
This is, and I don't say this lightly when Riptide exists, the saddest thing I have ever written. Please keep that in mind!

Haley initially survives Foyet's attack, but it still wasn't enough. All Emily can do it help Aaron through it.
Chapter 1 of 2
Words: 2.5
Warnings: character death, lots of talk of grief, hospitals, it's just very sad
Read over on Ao3, or below the cut
The sound of the beeping was keeping Emily grounded. A talisman. Something to remind her where she was, that despite how hard they’d tried, how hard Aaron had tried, it hadn’t been enough.
Haley’s heartbeat was filling the room, the repetitive beeping only sign of life apart from the hiss of the ventilator, a harsh reminder that she wasn’t breathing for herself. It was a miracle that she’d survived what Foyet had done to her, her pulse so weak when Aaron first found her he had thought she was dead. She’d coded, twice, in the ambulance, brought back by determined EMTs.
Emily almost thought this was crueller than Haley dying in the home she had once shared with Aaron. Machines keeping her alive whilst doctors did one last round of tests to see if there was anything to do, potentially leaving Jessica, Haley’s power of attorney since the divorce, with an impossible decision to make. Aaron desperately trying to figure out if he should let his son in here, allow this image to be the last thing the 4 year old saw of his mother.
Foyet was dead. His face a mess of blood and bone, destroyed by hands that had only ever treated Emily like she was made of something precious. He was dead and he was still somehow breaking the man she loved. It made rage flood through her, her nails digging into the palms of her hands as she sat in the chair next to Haley’s bed, leaning forward, her elbows on her knees. Keeping watch as Aaron and Jessica spoke to family, the sad truth repeated over and over again. Jack was with the team in a waiting room, distracted by JJ and Garcia, both of them putting on a brave face for him as they stopped him from truly knowing how much his life was about to change. Allowing him a last few minutes of the innocence he had experienced so far.
She wishes they could go back go to the versions of them that had existed before of all of this. Before the case in Canada that had led to her crashing at Penelope’s after one too many drinks, leaving Aaron alone the night Foyet had broken into their home and attacked him. His blood staining the floor in the same place they’d had sex on the day she had moved in. She wishes they hadn’t had to send Jack and Haley away, that her and Aaron hadn’t argued for days after she refused to go into hiding herself.
At the start, Aaron still in his hospital bed, his pain worse than he would ever let on, she worried it would break them. That the relationship they had built together would fall apart around them, something Foyet had destroyed without even really trying. She didn’t allow it to happen. Never leaving his side no matter how much he yelled or begged her too. She stayed, citing the promise they had made each other when he had slipped the ring onto her finger only a few weeks before, his injuries from the car accident he had put himself in to protect a potential victim still fresh.
He knew how much he needed her, he always had, their relationship intense from the beginning. The way he’d kissed her for the first time, on her doorstep just days after the beating she had received in Colorado, still seared into her memory. They’d rebuilt themselves despite what Foyet had done, able to find some happiness even though Haley and Jack were not there. The house they now called home, neither of them comfortable in their old apartment after Aaron had been attacked there, was still relatively new. Jack’s room with all his things was still undecorated, waiting for the little boy to pick the colour of his walls.
They had a spare set of keys ready for Haley, so she could always let herself in if she needed to. Keys that Emily knew would now never be used.
Everything was on hold. The wedding they still spoke about in hypotheticals, the unspoken agreement that they would wait until Haley and Jack were back before they planned anything hanging between them. The family they’d agreed to start once things were settled down, a baby she now wondered if she’d ever get to have.
Haley was never coming home, and Emily knew that would change everything.
Emily’s friendship with Haley had come as a surprise, although when she looked back on it, how nervous she was the first time she went with Aaron to pick up Jack for the weekend, it shouldn’t have been. Aaron would never have loved a woman who was anything less than kind. That wasn’t to say it hadn’t been awkward at first, finding her place in amongst what used to be a family, but they had made it work. Emily loved Aaron and Jack, and Haley loved them too, and that was their common ground. The thing that they built their own relationship on, laughing together about something Jack had said, or their mutual agreement that Aaron was terrible at vacuuming. It was enough, enough to mean that Haley became someone that Emily deeply cared about, the mother of the boy she loved as her own. Haley was someone Emily loved.
She wishes that love would be enough to save her, to stop Jack from losing his mother just after his fourth birthday. To save them all from the life they now found themselves in.
She hadn’t prayed in a long time, not since she was a teenage girl who had to take action into her own hands when prayer hadn’t worked, but she finds herself praying. Hoping for a miracle she knew wouldn’t come.
A cup of coffee enters her eyeline and she looks up, smiling at Jessica as she takes the offered drink.
“Thanks.” She says, her voice quiet despite there being no chance that she could wake Haley.
“No problem.” Jessica replies, taking the seat next to her. “Have the doctors come by?”
“No,” Emily says, grimacing against the taste of the battery acid the hospital called coffee, “not yet.” She pauses, looks around the room as she realises it's just the two of them, “where’s Aaron?”
“Out in the hallway.” Jessica replies, turning to look away from Emily to Haley, air stolen from her lungs as she stared at her sister. “He’s…not doing well.” She swallows against the lump in her throat, looking back at Emily with a sad smile. “I think he’s blaming himself.”
Emily huffs out a sad laugh, the sound catching in her chest. “It’s all he’s been doing since this all started. I can’t seem to change his mind.”
“If anyone can help him it’s you.” Jessica replies, her hand reaching out to rest on Emily’s arm. “Haley always says you understand him better than she ever did.” The small smile slips off of Jessica’s face, and Emily feels the light grasp she’d had on her arm go slack. “Said. Haley always said that.”
“Jess-”
“She was really excited about you guys getting married.” She laughs, but it turns into a sob. “She told me that she was looking forward to watching Aaron getting married again, but not having to deal with the stress of being the person he was marrying.” Jessica jokes, smiling at Emily as she puts her hand over hers, squeezing their fingers together. “He was a mess when they got married, nervous in a way I’ve never seen him since.”
Emily smiles softly, one corner of her lips flicking up. “He told me once that he called Haley’s room twice just to make sure she was still sure.”
Jessica barks out an actual laugh at that, reaching up to wipe a tear away from her cheek. “More like twice an hour. In the end she unplugged the phone.”
Both women sober up, the room silent except for the ever present hiss of the ventilator, and Emily squeezes Jessica’s hand again, another friend she had found in the most unlikely of places.
“I’m going to go check on him,” Emily says, tilting her head towards the door, “will you be ok?”
Jessica nods. “Of course, the doctors will be here soon.” She looks at her as Emily stands up, the lighting of the room catching the sparkle of her engagement ring. “If you see them…”
“We’ll come straight in.” Emily finishes for her, smiling reassuringly. She squeezes the other woman’s hand one last time before quietly leaving the room, seeking out her fiancee, hoping that simply being around him would ease some of the tension in her chest, even just a little.
She stops when she sees him, her fingers automatically seeking out her engagement ring, twisting it back and forth as she looks at the man she loves. He was sitting in the hallway, his head in his hands, perched on the edge of the seat as if he was ready to pounce, like he could be gone in a second. Skittish in a way that wasn’t like him, the events of the day tearing away the last of his defences. From where she was standing she could see the damage to his hands, his knuckles torn open, and she wonders what broke his skin, what sharp edge of Foyet’s face had caused damage to a part of him that she loved to press kisses to as she fell asleep at night.
She walks over, gently lowering herself into the chair next to him. He doesn’t move, doesn’t look up at her, but she can see how he relaxes a little at her presence, his frame seeming a little bit less tense as she slid in next to him. She seeks out one of his hands with her own, linking their fingers, his grip tight on her despite how sore his hands must be. She can feel the stiffness in them, can see the swelling. She places her other hand on his back, his ever present warmth seeping through his shirt. For the first time since they became them it doesn’t bring her comfort, his heat just reminding her how cold she was instead of bringing her the feeling of safety that it usually would.
“Hi love.” She says quietly, anything sounding too loud where they were. The hospital corridor had no room left for anything but grief.
“Hi.” He chokes out, turning his head to look at her. The cuts on his face, the only other physical evidence she could currently see from his showdown with Foyet, made her ache. Pain slicing through her like she was the one who had been hit. She knew there were other injuries below his clothes, bruising she would see later. When they had arrived at the hospital he had refused to be seen by anyone, adamant that he could wait until they heard about Haley.
In the end Emily managed to get him to agree to a nurse checking over the injuries to his face and hands whilst they sat there in the hallway waiting for an update. She’d played dirty, had no other choice, really pressing home how worried she was about him, that he had to make sure he was ok for at least Jack’s sake.
“Haley would have hated this.” He says, his hand gripping Emily’s a little tighter, as if he was trying to steal her strength. Like she wouldn’t give it all to him freely. “She told me once,” the corner of his mouth flicks up in a misplaced smile, “we were young. In college I think. She said ‘just unplug me if it happens Aaron.’” He clenches his teeth and Emily leans her forehead against his temple, hoping to silently show she was there, that she always would be. “I never thought I’d ever have to do it. Or help Jessica make the decision.”
“Did you come to a decision?” Emily asks, her hand still tracing circles on his back. “If the doctors confirm what they already think?” The look on his face, the way he clenches his teeth, tells her everything she needs to know. “Oh Aaron, I’m so sorry, honey.”
“What am I supposed to do with Jack?” He asks, his voice ragged, and she wants nothing more than to take him away from all of this. From the never ending responsibility life seemed to throw at him. She wants to give him the peace he so deserves, and even though she knows she can’t do it today she hopes that one day she’d be able to. “How do I tell my 4 year old son that his mother is dead?” He shakes his head, turning away from her and back to the ground, severing their connection. “Do I let him see her? Let that,” he nods towards the room Haley was in, “be his last image of her?”
“Aar-”
“Because I need you to tell me, Em.” He says, desperation she had never heard from him dripping from his words, making tears press at the back of her own eyes, her own control hanging by a thread. “I need you to tell me what to do, because I just don’t know.”
She feels tears fall from her lash line, the warmth of them burning her cheeks, leaving a track she’s sure will be permanent. She’s not sure it’s her place to make this call for him, almost tells him as much, but then she remembers. It was her place. She was going to marry his man, she loved him, and after today, no matter how much they all tried to pretend they didn’t know exactly what the doctors would tell them, she would be the closest thing to a mother his little boy would have.
She loved Jack, so much that she would take Haley’s place if she could, sure that would be preferable to all involved, and she had to think of what was best for him.
“I think…I think you should take him to see her.” She says, cupping Aaron’s cheek and making him look at her, her thumb gently tracing his skin. “Let him say goodbye. And then if…when it happens,” she says, not able to say it aloud yet, acknowledging the decision he and Jessica had made outloud seeming too much to bear, “I’ll sit out here with him. And I won’t leave him alone for a second, ok?” She smiles sadly at him when he reaches out for her, his own thumb wiping a tear away from under her eye. “Not for a second.”
He pulls her forward, presses his forehead against hers and she closes her eyes, breathes him in, takes one last moment before everything changes forever yet again. Leaving this version of them behind, a new version emerging from the ashes.
“I love you.” He says, his voice the most steady it had been since she had stepped out into the corridor, as if her love was the only thing keeping him afloat, the cornerstone that kept him standing.
“I love you too.”
She hears the clicking of shoes against the vinyl flooring coming down the corridor, they separate and see Haley’s doctor walking towards them.
The look on his face tells them all they need it to.

Could you do a Yandere Silva where the reader is getting hit on by a butler with a death wish and Silva freaks and it ends with rough sex where reader won’t be able to walk👀🍵
Warnings; lemon, rough behavior, yandere relationship, yandere behavior, mentioned non-con, reader gets threatened, reader has female parts, oral (female receiving), oral (male receiving), 69, peak into the yandere mind of an assassin,
~~~~~~~~
You sat quietly in your room, relaxing back on the large couch and idly listening to whatever was currently on the TV. It had been a fairly quiet day, but most days were quiet (other than when Silva decides he needs attention). You were rather bored, slightly considered taking a nap or even calling for Silva just for some kind of entertainment.
Just as you were in the middle of deciding what to do, the door slowly began to open. This immediately put you on guard since the only ones who would enter your room tended to fling it open despite how unbelievably heavy the door actually was. You were quick to retrieve your panic button, a distress alert Silva had given you just in precaution for someone getting to your room. It only happened once that some fool decided to kidnap you without anyone knowing until you were already gone, but he made certain it would never happen again.
You fiddled with the small device nervously, watching the door with great anticipation for whoever it was on the other side. You were surprised to see a man you had never met before. He wore a suit identical to that of the butlers that worked in the manor, but all of the butlers should know better than to even come within twenty feet of your room.
"So you're the famous Zoldyck treasure. I can certainly see why."
He looked you up and down, making you feel far more exposed than you actually were. The man was blond and had bright blue eyes that seemed to glimmer in the light of your cell. He was fairly tall, though not as tall as Silva, and he had sun-kissed tan skin. The way he looked at you like a piece of meat made your skin start to crawl, so you subtly pressed the button and hoped that this man wouldn't have the time to do anything to you.
"You're quite the big mystery. Most here don't know what's in this room, and It's even one of the most enforced rules; don't go near this room. I can see why you're considered a treasure, a lovely thing like you would attract a lot of attention. But, I don't see why you're kept away from everyone like this. Can you tell me?"
"..."
"It's okay, I don't bite, unless you want me to. You must be such a fragile little thing, being locked up like this for your safety."
"I'm not locked up for my own benefit."
"Oh?"
"I'm here because my husband doesn't like sharing."
This, instead of making the man back off like you thought it would, the man only seemed to become more interested in you due to your words. He began a slow approach towards you, making you retreat until your back was pressed against the wall and he was mere inches away from you. You tried to turn your head away from him, keeping as much distance as possible between the two of you, knowing just how Silva will react.
"He doesn't have to know... Isn't it exciting, though? Sneaking around like this."
"No."
"Oh come on, live a little, sweetheart."
"Leave me alone."
"Nah, I don't think I will. In fact, no one even knows I'm here, so no one will come check on you. I could do so many things to your tight little body with the time I have... And no one would even hear you cry for help."
"Stop- Stop it."
"So scared. Good. I like 'em scared. You're gonna be so much f-"
He was suddenly cut off by the door slamming open with enough force to make the walls shake, him turning on his heel to confront whoever just arrived. You were quick to slide past the stunned man as he turned away from you, hurriedly making it to Silva's side and hiding behind him. The man had a look of pure terror on his face, clearly not expecting the terrifying assassin to appear.
You gripped tightly to the back of Silva's shirt, pressing your forehead against his broad back as you hid from the intruder that had threatened you so gleefully. The small glimpse you got of Silva's expression was enough to tell you everything you needed to know. He wasn't just mad, he was furious. Luckily, none of that fury was directed towards you.
Not only were his burning blue eyes filled with pure hate, they seemed to glow in the light of the room with a predatorial glint. He never really seemed to smile anyway, but his expression wasn't his usual scowl, it was akin to the stone-cold expression of a wild animal ready to kill. There was a palpable hate in the air that made it quite clear Silva had no intention to let the man live.
"Did he do anything to you?"
"He threatened me."
A low hum that sounded more like a growl rumbled from his chest, clearly displeased. The man had yet to move from his original spot, frozen in terror at the intimidating visage of your furious husband. Had the situation been different, and had the man not threatened you, you would have felt pity for him, but you felt no pity now.
"Explain."
"Wha-What?"
"Explain just what you are doing in my wife's room."
The man had already been terror stricken, but now all of the color disappeared from his face as he realized just how stupid his decision had been. He had assumed you were just another family member, maybe a sister or daughter. He only began to now realize just how fucked he was. Even though he was a relatively new butler, he knew of Silva's infamous temper and he also knew to never talk about Silva's wife, lest he wish for the most painful death possible.
He had seen Kikyo around, and since Kalluto was always trailing behind, he had assumed that she was Silva's wife and did his damndest to stay away from her and stay out of her path. He had heard stories about what would happen to anyone who took any level of interest in Silva's wife, but he had just figured it was meant as a basic warning about the woman herself. Yet here he was, staring at the most terrifying man he had ever encountered after just having threatened and attempted to force himself onto the very woman he was warned to never speak of.
"Well?"
"I- I didn't- I hadn't- but-"
"You've already exceeded my patience, filth."
"I'm- I'm sorry! I didn't know who she was! I wouldn't have said those things to her if-"
"Said what 'things'?"
"..."
You pulled away to look up at your towering husband, seeing him glance over his shoulder at you, his eyes far more gentle and loving. The glance was a clear prompt to speak, and you'd rather not push Silva's buttons at that moment, given his unyielding rage about to overflow.
"He threatened to rape me and said no one would hear me scream."
There was a sudden change in the entire room the moment you finished your sentence. It was a crushingly heavy pressure that seeped into every corner like a rolling miasma, consuming everything. The pressure quickly lifted from you, allowing you to breathe though it was clear the intruder did not receive the same kindness as he choked and dropped to his knees.
If you thought Silva was mad before, he was as tame as a kitten in comparison to the rage that now consumed him. You were well aware of Silva's knowledge in ways to kill a man, but it seemed more like he was interested in a slow drawn out slaughter. He never once looked away from the terrified man, even as he spoke in a gentle tone to you.
"(Y/n), go wait in our room. Don't come out until I tell you to."
"Alright..."
Quickly scrambling to the room you two shared, you caught a glimpse at Silva's expression and felt your heart drop into your stomach. Even though you knew he was not angry with you at all, that look alone sent fear running down your spine and into your very being. You closed the door and sat on your bed, hearing a sudden shrill voice begin screaming.
It wasn't hard for you to guess the kind of mood Silva would be in once he was done dealing with the man. There was no doubt in your mind he was going to be rough as well, knowing how he got when jealous. You also knew he would be jealous as all hell due to the man being in your room. It may not have been your fault and the man may be dead, but with Silva, jealousy didn't fade away.
There were few things you could do at that point to soften Silva's mood, and honestly him being rough wasn't that bad (so long as he doesn't break your bones). Given how terrifying just a glance at him was, you figured you'd do something that should brighten his mood and help soothe his jealousy a bit. You dug through your clothes picking out your white and blue lingerie- Silva's favorite for obvious reasons- and waited on the bed.
The screams had yet to stop, though they certainly took on a more gurgling tone the longer it went. You shivered slightly, wondering just what Silva was doing to the man, since he was an expert at torturing people. Though he has hurt you in the past- most being accidental- you know just how strong he is and just how deeply his few emotions impact him. Looking from the outside, he feels nothing, but with you he is extremely expressive in everything he does.
You lay back on the bed, thinking about how much you truly impacted him and how much your wellness meant to him. Hell, the man would move heaven itself if you wanted him to. He was the dominant partner, but he was also a slave to your every emotion.
While you let yourself get lost in thought, you slowly slipped off to sleep with Silva's pillow cuddled in your arms.
Movement on the bed drew you out of your peaceful slumber, letting out an upset whine at being woken. You were slightly disoriented from your sudden awakening and blearily blinked the sleep out of your eyes. As your brain began to fully wake as well, you realized that Silva was right above you, his large hands on either side of your head.
There was a faint feeling of surprise as you noticed not a speck of blood on the giant man. You figured he would have been soaked in the blood of that idiot butler, but not a single fleck of red marred his flawless skin.
"Trying to cheer me up?"
There was the slightest of smiles pulling at his lips as his eyes slowly dragged over your barely covered figure, letting out a low hum of pleasure and licking his lips slowly. He seemed almost too calm at that moment, but you knew the beast that dwells within would easily come forth once he began.
"It certainly does help..."
"I thought it would be nice to surprise you... but I guess I fell asleep before you came back."
"You are a wonderful creature, (y/n), did you know that?"
"Well, there has to be some reason you keep me around."
"Sassy thing."
His tone was teasing, but you knew he wouldn't be teasing you for very long, not with the way his sharp blue eyes roamed your body. He sat up, now letting his hands roam your soft body and squeezing every few seconds. No matter what mark may be on you- be it a scar, a birthmark, a mole, didn't matter- he adored you and held such reverence for you. Even when you gain or lose weight, you are a Goddess in his eyes, and he made sure to treat his Goddess well.
"Mmm, you do know how to rile me up."
"Lots of practice."
You reached up to run your fingers through his hair, watching his eyes narrow in bliss from your gentle touch. When you suddenly tightened your grip and tugged on his long hair, that calm expression changed in an instant. He was now less of a man than he was a beast, moving you suddenly so your legs rest on his shoulders, your back against the pillows.
He didn't say a single word as he gripped the lacy panties you wore between his teeth, pulling back in one smooth motion and ripping the delicate fabric with ease. You were about to whine at the destruction of his favorite set but you didn't even manage to get a single word out before he buried his head between your thighs, tongue easily sliding through your soft folds. He didn't bother with being slow in working you up, he just slid his tongue as deeply into you as he could to slurp up your juices.
The noises coming from him were obscene as he sucked on your soft pussy, low moans vibrating against you as he gripped your legs tighter, pulling you closer to his mouth. You ran your fingers through his hair, gripping tightly and tilting your head back with breathy moans. He held your hips still, making it so you were unable to do anything other than writhe in the pleasure he gave you.
It was clear that him holding you still was more of a dominance thing to reassure himself and soothe his burning jealousy more than it was to show his dominance over you. He was using your presence and your sweet moans as his own validation of being your one and only. Reminding himself- and in some ways, you- that you were still his and he had no intention of sharing you in any way.
You truly have only had honest social interaction with three people on a consistent basis and your five children on the odd occasion for more than twenty years. If that didn't give you a good visualization of how deep his jealousy runs, then it would be the contempt he has for his own children. As far as he was concerned, you only truly needed him in your life and no one else would have the chance or ability to get between the two of you.
He was much like a religious zealot with how fiercely he coveted you and everything about you. His tongue was as deep in you as possible while his large thumb rubbed your clit, blue eyes closed in bliss as if he truly received deep pleasure from taking care of you and pleasuring you like a wild animal did its mate. You were his everything, and he wanted your everything desperately enough he had you kidnapped only days after meeting you, already in deep obsession and fanatical adoration for you.
Continuing with endless stamina, he brought you up to mindless pleasure and kept you there, every whining cry you made only served to fuel his desire and increase blood-flow to his achingly hard cock. In typical Silva fashion, he completely ignored his own needs to not only ensure your pleasure, but to test himself to see how long he could listen to you moan before snapping and giving in to the starving beast within him. He was quite the dominant masochist when it came down to it, always adoring every scratch and mark you make on his fair skin but also making sure he was the one on top and in control.
With a loud sucking sound, he pulled away from your soaked pussy, licking his lips with hazy bliss filled eyes never leaving your shaking form. He was completely lost in his desire to possess all of you, and he gently trailed his warm hands up your soft front until he lightly gripped your chin, holding your mouth open. You were faintly worried about what he planned on doing while in such a blissed out state, yelping when he moved you down the bed with both hands before moving so his muscular legs were on either side of your head.
He slid his large cock slowly into your mouth, your jaw stretching a bit further to accommodate the rock-hard length. A deep moan rose up from his chest as he thrusted his hips a few times before returning to digging his tongue into your slick heat. He did the majority of the work to pleasure you both, ensuring to keep himself from making you deep throat him just yet. You reached up to rest your hands on his hips for your own sake should he unintentionally begin to choke you, but to Silva the contact of your gentle hands on his pale skin was overwhelmingly intense.
He was extremely touch starved when it came to you due to his distant and cold upbringing despite how much physical contact he actually had with you on a regular basis. Just another reason for him to be obsessed with the touch of your skin and the feel of your body against his. Each small brush of your hand anywhere on his body sent intense sensations running through his very being. To feel not a hint of affection during the critical developmental beginning years of his life left him distant and made him believe all outside touch would bring only pain.
Of course, when he met you, his entire world changed drastically. Your touch was gentle and brought no pain with it, only the sweet sensation of honest care and empathy. He had to have you, and only you. Only your touch brought him such calming pleasure and consuming affection. Even as he bucked his hips into your warm mouth, he was past cloud 9 in absolute bliss, sinking his tongue into your extremely wet pussy and almost desperately trying to bring you the same level of pleasure that he felt even when simply in your presence.
That's what he always tried to do.
He felt so much from and for you that he couldn't help but attempt to reciprocate that pleasure any chance he got. His addiction to your touch was likely why you two were still so sexually active even after decades together, that and Silva used that intimate connection to soothe his own mind consuming anxiety. It was why he became so irritable whenever he is away from your side for more than 24 hours. His mind drowns him in anxiety with every outcome of you being attacked while he is away.
It would destroy him to know something hurt you or you were unwell in some way while he was gone. He would feel like he failed you as your husband and that he failed you as your protector. He refused to fail. The cost would be too great.
You, on the other hand, happened to be lost in the feelings of pleasure running through your veins, to the point you didn't honestly notice much other than the warm cock in your mouth and the hot tongue on your pussy. Every moan you made only made that large length twitch and throb, feeling the slide of your tongue against his flesh as you let your fingers slide over his hips. It was clear he enjoyed it as he let out deep moans and growls of pleasure, holding himself back as long as possible.
Just when you felt the pulse of his heartbeat flutter, he pulled away from you, leaving you confused and slightly dazed. He was watching you try to collect your thoughts, proud he made you so delirious with pleasure that you needed time to return to awareness. His movements were slow and methodical as he positioned himself between your legs, raising your hips up so he could slide through your soft folds.
"Look at me, (y/n)."
His deep voice drew your scattered attention, staring up into his intense blue eyes in an almost questioning way. There was a moment of silence as he stared at you in adoration, not looking away from you as he slowly slid his firm length into you, watching the way you gasped and writhed on the bed. He gave you only a moment to adjust to his size once more before he began to thrust into your welcoming body, drowning in the tight embrace of your warm insides.
You moved up and down on the bed with each rough thrust, clawing at the sheets beneath you. Silva pound into you with such intensity you could barely draw in a breath before it was being forced back out with another rough thrust. He leaned over your writhing and mewling form to start pressing open mouthed kissed against your neck, biting down a few times to hear you yelp and whine. You wrapped your arms around him and let your nails bite down on his fair skin, shivering from his rumbling moan directly against you ear.
As you felt your orgasm creeping up with alarming speed, you reached up to his hair and gripped on the long locks, tugging hard enough to remove his lips from your neck. You had to stop tugging on his hair and just cling to him as his thrusts became rougher, pressing one of his hands against your soft stomach and feeling the way he moved inside of you. The increased sensation of his large cock rubbing against your tight walls practically made you scream in delight, your pleasure overwhelming and consuming you as your orgasm flooded your body.
"So tight..! You are mine. You will always be mine. I'll never let you go. I'll never let you forget."
You barely registered his crooning words due to your overstimulated nerves sizzling in your brain. He adored the hazy look in your eyes as you were consumed by the pleasure he provided you. That sweet expression on your lovely face was enough to push him over the edge, his hot cum painting your soft insides with every intense pulse.
When he finally pulled out of you, you were still trying to catch your breath and clung to his body with all of the remaining energy you had. The low humming chuckle that came from him was a soft and soothing rumble that was quite like the purr of some feral beast. You curled close to his warm body, snuggling down into his grasp as he pulled the blanket over the both of you, kissing your forehead gently.
"Mine."
The Problem With Light
a/n i literally did not mean to write this, i was working on requests and then my mind was like ‘remember that lowkey love triangle kaz brekker x reader x darkling thing you always say you're going to write’ so yeah,, here we are :)),, two longer fics are coming!!
Summary: Kaz changes his plans after meeting the Sun Summoner and Kirigan teeters on a line the reader isn’t sure she wants.
--
Chapter One: The Conflicts of Prayer
--
Narrator.
--
Kaz knows a lot about patience. He knows how to bear the weight that the passage of time thrusts onto one's shoulder. He knows how to cultivate the seeds that he sews. If he wasn’t like this he’d stand no chance at one day avenging the ghost that refuses to leave him.
But Jesper is almost an hour late. Kaz has been standing in a dimly hit branch of a relatively important hallway in the Little Palace. Jesper was supposed to come while in disguise to bring Kaz his new disguise and his newly repaired cane. Kaz’s hand flexes again, wishing he could feel the detailed head of one of his few comforts beneath the broken-in leather of his gloves. A bitter part of him claims that if Jesper isn’t injured once he arrives, he’ll be injured once Kaz gets his hand on his cane.
He shifts his weight, the pain in his leg starting to take its toll. The slight relaxation disappears once he hears footsteps. Kaz turns, ignoring the ache the motion brings him. His entire body hardens, preparing for a fight. He doesn’t look like he belongs here yet and there’s nowhere to run. The person crossing his path will need to be taken care of--knocked out or something more permanent.
The person only pauses to look at him when Kaz angles himself forward in a fighting stance. He watches the person, a girl, shifts back slightly, eyes wide and defensive. She’s a mess--hair disheveled, nose slightly bleeding, and dirty kefta. Her appearance isn’t why Kaz finds himself frozen, not because of the girl’s appearance but because she’s her. Y/n l/n. The Sun Summoner.
“Sorry! I--” She almost winces, but then her eyebrows furrow together. “You’re not supposed to be here.” Kaz’s jaw locks. He could take her physically, but for all he knows she could raise her arms and blind him permanently with her light. “That’s okay,” she breathes, something in her looking a little relieved, “I’m not supposed to be here either.” Kaz watches her oddly, wondering if her trustingness is a trap in itself. “I won’t tell if you don’t.”
It’s a joke. That much is clear by the gentle uptilt of her lips. It’s as if she doesn’t know she’s bleeding and looks like she just ran out of a fight. Her expression doesn’t harshen at his silence. Kaz finds himself disliking that. It’s not enough that she can summon the sun, she also has to seem like it.
He needs to say something. Jesper was supposed to be watching her and now he’s not here and she is. The plan is unraveling and if he talks she’ll stay here or reveal where she’s going to next. That’s the kind of thing he needs to salvage this.
His lips part, but he’s not sure what to say. “You’re not supposed to be here?”
She shakes her head once. “No--I’m supposed to be in personal training, but I kind of got my ass kicked in group training and my pride needs a break.” The admission leaves her sheepishly. “It’s probably for the best, becoming a Sun Summoner overnight has given me a bit of an ego.” She sighs, the sound strangely light. “Then again, I kind of need an ego for what’s wanted from me and if one bad fight is all it takes to kill it then it’s not strong enough, considering--” Kaz tenses as she cuts herself off. “Sorry, I’m rambling, we both have places to be.” Hope presses into him stiffly. She’s going to say it. “Where--where are you supposed to be?” She shifts back slightly. “Not that I have to know, but you’re not from here, and--”
Kaz steps forward, pushing through the stiffness in his leg. Y/n’s gaze drops. Kaz’s discomfort worsens, someone like her doesn’t need to know his weaknesses. “Are you here for me to pray for you?” She scratches her arm, “I-I can, but I tell everyone I pray for I don’t consider myself a Saint.”
The honesty of the comment twisted something in Kaz’s thoughts. “Yes,” he lies, partially distracted by the beginnings of a scheme. He can feel Inej’s future anger as he lies again, “I’m here for prayer.”
“I spent so long rambling,” she says in a tone that implies apology.
He nods once, wondering how someone could  be that apologetic and survive. The weight of such power must strangle someone like her. That could be a good thing. Someone like her must be spiraling with all this change and sudden strength. Maybe this could be simpler than an abduction plan, a few choice words and he could convince the girl to come with him. He could get her to believe there was something she needed to do in Ketterdam. If she went there willingly, things could be much more efficient.
Inej won’t like this, and for this to work he’ll have to think of the right way to present the plan to her. He weighs his options and the details as y/n whispers words with her eyes closed and hands folded together. The words he can make out are kind. He expected that, but what he didn’t expect was the earnestness of them.
She means each part of her prayers. Kaz regrets noticing that.
“I can’t promise my prayers do anything,” she finishes, voice returning to its normal volume, “but I hope you get what you need.”
What he wants is within his grasp now that he knows what to do. “I’m sure good things are near.” It’s the most honest he’s been since her arrival.
Y/n nods once, “I should go before my reprieve costs me more than it's worth.”
He watches her disappear down the hallway. Her movements are light, calm and unweighted.
“Boss,” Jesper’s appearance is brash, “I’ve spent this entire time looking for her. She was in training like she was supposed to, took an awul blow, delivered an even meaner one, and then disappeared.”
Kaz tries to imagine the same hands that were just so neatly folded in prayer as fists. “You just missed her.” He doesn’t wait for Jesper’s reaction, he just takes his newly repaired cane back. “And we’re changing the plan.”
Y/n.
--
I tried going to Baghra. I told someone who believed my prayers meant something that I was going back to training. But then I remembered her words from last time and the shame I felt when I could not create light. I haven’t summoned light once without Kirigan’s touch.
I’m the Sun Summoner--I am the person that summons the sun by themselves. Kirigan and I aren’t the Sun Summoner together. I’m pathetic. And instead of trying to get better, I’m wandering the library because all anyone can talk about is the way Zoya punched me in the face.
Baghra picked me apart when I looked shiny. I can’t imagine the kinds of comments she’d make if she saw me with a bloody nose and dead leaves in my hair. I’ll go tomorrow, once Genya fixes both my matted hair and cracked self esteem.
For now, I have the one thing that’s always comforted me. My books. I wander the library, trying not to think of anything. Of Baghra, of Zoya, of the strange man in the hall.
He seemed weighted by something. I always wish I could do more for those that ask for my prayer, but the longing is sharper now. I don’t know him, so it’s ridiculous to want to help him so badly, but my uselessness itches beneath my skin in a way I’m not used to. I don’t know why I feel more protective about this stranger than others. I’ve had people fall to my feet weeping, begging for me to save them. That hurt me, but the desire to help this one stranger burns in a way I’ve never felt before.
“I don’t know why they don’t look for you here every time you disappear.” His voice is as soft and subtle as a shadow. “They’d save so much time.”
I fight the urge to defensively grasp the first book I can reach. “You’re making it sound like I have a habit of vanishing in order to make a point.” My defense is weak. We both know that this isn’t the first time I ran away from something here. “Sometimes absence is just that.”
“When you’ve waited for someone as long as I have, all absence is significant.” The words are not harsh but they should be. I don’t know how I could respond to that.
He steps forward easily, as he always does. I keep myself still despite the way that warmth settles against my chest uncomfortably. I manage to hold onto my stillness even when he raises a hand, one gentle finger brushing above my top lip. I tense at his lingering touch.
Kirigan turns his hand slowly, exposing the red on his fingertips. “How di--”
“Training,” I interrupt quickly, “I promise I got a decent hit in as well.”
When he nods, his expression is clearly weighted but I cannot interpret it. He almost always looks like that. I shouldn’t find anything about the man that stole me from everything I’ve ever known (even though he had good reason to do so) alluring, but I want to understand him. It’d feel like knowing a secret the rest of the world is desperate for.
For a moment we just stand there, Kirigan closer than he’s ever been. Sometimes when he’s quiet I think he knows my secrets. All of mine. Even my curiosity about him. “I don’t doubt that.”
At least he tries to be nice to me sometimes. It’s more than anyone else here can say. Except maybe Genya. “You don’t have to say that.” He knows it’s true. “Keep in mind you found me in the library, hiding from Baghra.”
He hesitates. “No one likes training.”
“I think I’d find it tolerable if…” Can I say this to him? Admit the extent of my helplessness? He looks at me patiently, waiting for me to give something to him. “I’m the Sun Summoner--that’s supposed to be me. That’s supposed to be mine, and I can’t do it by myself.”
The patheticness of my struggle hits me in full force. I drop my head as he weighs my words. “It’s in you,” he says it so surely I don’t think I could argue.
I smile politely. “Thank you.”
Kirigan reaches downwards, towards my wrist. He latches onto me so quickly I’m too surprised to back away. “Light,” he prompts like it really is that easy.
I know I can do it with him, so I don’t see the point in showing it. “It doesn’t count if I get help.”
“Y/n.” Sometimes I think his voice is softer when he speaks my name.
I raise my hands, overlaying them, letting the hand that he touches make up the base of my cup. Reaching into myself, I search for the power beneath my skin. With him, that power seems to sit directly beneath the surface, desperate and greedy. I don’t call to it, instead I simply let it flow. The light bleeds from me, a sphere of blinding light bursts into my hands. It’s bright, burning, and desperate to escape my control.
My mind clamps around the power tightly, restraining it without choking it out until the light in my hands is exactly as small as I want it to be. I hold it there, letting its warmth melt away all of the bad. I let it grow, the light illuminating a path I can barely see--a path in which I do not disappoint those that need to have faith in something and for some unknown reason decided to place it in me. I hold onto that feeling, and then I let the light disappear.
I smile at my hands. The only good that’s come from this is the way the light makes me feel. “Y/n.” I look up at Kirigan, who’s showing me both of his palms. “That was you.”
A feeling better than the light coils up my stomach and into my heart. I grin. I did it without him. I can do it without him. “That--how did you know that would work?”
“I knew that you could do it, you just needed to see it.”
Warmth fills me, light and easy. A little too light. I have to work at not reaching for him, not because I need to, but because I want to. “Thank you.” This time I mean it.
“Your gratitude is premature,” he warns, but nothing about it is harsh, “I’m here to send you back to training.”
At least the thought of facing Baghra no longer devastates me. “There’s always a catch.” I smile, hoping he understands what he’s done for me. “But I think this time it may be worth it.”
He almost smiles. “Tell me if you still feel that way after spending time with Baghra.”
A fair warning. It’s more than I expect from him. “Will do.”
Kirigan’s expression threatens to soften, but he turns away from me with a soft nod before I can try to decipher the look. I let him leave before disappearing down another hall, forcing myself to look for Baghra. I think of my interaction with both Kirigan and the stranger, at least Baghra won’t be the weirdest part of my day
