Sister, Sister: After the End
When Eliza invites the entire family to Midvale over Easter weekend, none of them offer a single squeak of protest. It's been a long few weeks of working on their own endeavors, with only infrequent, hectic teamups between them.
It's nice, Lena decides after dinner the first night. The warmth, the easy familiarity that sinks in as though it never left. But even so, she's grateful for a spare moment to snag a blanket and go out to the dunes, where waves crash steadily against the quiet of darkness.
She spreads the blanket out and lays back, folding her hands over her ribcage. Her magic fills her these days, and she can feel the power of the ocean tugging at her, as though inviting her to join its current. She can also feel the shifting energy of the sand beneath the blanket, and the sway of the reeds that obscure her from the view of the house.
She's not too difficult to find though, as footsteps whisper through the sand towards her. Lena closes her eyes, biting the smidge of irritation that creeps up on her unexpectedly.
"I'm fine," she issues pre-emptively. Kara settles down on the blanket next to her.
"Didn't think you weren't."
Lena's eyes snap open as her head whips towards Nia's voice. Not Kara.
She huffs a laugh. "Sorry," she offers readily. "Thought you were someone else."
"Mhmm," Nia returns. "Considering she's the only one able to get hold of you these days."
Lena grimaces. "I know, I'm sorry--"
"Me too," Nia assures her of no hard feelings. "I could have done more to make it happen. It's just been..."
"Busy."
"Yeah. It's a little crazy to think about, you know? I'm doing more as Dreamer for the foundation than I am as a crime fighter or whatever. And you're back to being on top--"
Lena scoffs a laugh that turns into a giggle as she turns her head to look at Nia. It takes a moment to click.
"Oh--! Lena! You know that's not what I meant!"
The light smack to Lena's ribcage only earns a throatier laugh. Nia joins in with a giggle of her own, and they laugh for a long moment before calming.
"I know what you mean," Lena concedes after a heavy sigh, returning to the moment. "The foundation is everything I hoped it would be, but--"
"It's different." Nia turns her head, and Lena echoes the movement to meet her gaze.
She nods. "Yeah. As much as I don't miss the entire world being in peril..."
"You miss how it was." Nia's voice is quiet. "Even if it's better now."
"Yeah."
They stare up at the stars for a long quiet moment. The sky is clear tonight, and the Milky Way spreads out before them in a wide, untouchable ribbon. A wave of nostalgia overwhelms Lena, and not just for the good old days. Sudden tears burn at her eyes.
"I miss my mom," she whispers.
Nia doesn't turn, but pats across Lena's hip until Lena reaches down to clasp the questing hand.
"Me too," Nia returns softly. Her next words curl with a gentle smile. "They'd be so proud of us though."
Lena chokes out a bit of a chuckle, which mostly sounds like she's being strangled. "Yeah." She squeezes Nia's hand. "She would have really liked you."
"Oh my gosh, are you kidding?!" Nia's voice lifts. "My mom would have gushed over you! Especially now with the whole earthy, witchy vibe you have going on these days. She'd love that."
Lena grins. "Could you imagine if they'd had the chance to meet?"
"Oh god." Nia covers her eyes with her free hand. "Inseparable. No embarassing childhood memory would be safe..."
Lena laughs, truly, as though she actually had memories with her mother to be embarassed by. In this fictional world they've created, she would.
"Hey." Lena catches Nia's gaze, and offers a wide smile. "I'm proud of you too."
Nia's lips pinch tight, her eyes sparkling in the moonlight. All she can manage is a trembling nod, and a firm squeeze on Lena's fingers to reciprocate the sentiment.
Neither of them keeps track of how long they stay out there on the shallow dunes. They simply lay there, hands clasped, as the galaxy slowly swirls above them.

i don't know what this says about me but i've been playing assassin's creed: odyssey for uh. 80-some hours now and last night i was doing a quest that's actually a series of quests and having a good time and kissing every lady who seems in the least bit interested and then i got to the end of the thing and the man in the mix (who had ALSO tried to kiss me but i'd refused on the basis of my own personal headcanons about kassandra's sexuality) got all upset that i'd fucked his girlfriend and the game was like well buddy there's nothing else for it you gotta kill this man and i didn't WANT to kill the man. he was fine! his only sin was not being built like a brick shithouse like me! and it seemed a little unfair to leave that ruin in my wake since i wasn't gonna be sticking around to live happily lesbianally ever after with his girlfriend--i have SO much more of ancient greece to map. nothing for it but to go back to a save from two hours previous and replay the entire back half of this quest to ensure that these two fictional people who will cease to exist in the game as soon as i sail away are happy together. i GUESS.
#kassandra does fuck men but on an extremely case by case basis#like he's gotta be a little pathetic#a little sad#all a woman has to do is smile#more information about penguins than i care to have

We Have an Update on Nanami.
After days of no contact, someone finally texts you with an update on Nanami’s whereabouts.
"We have an update on Nanami."
As soon as the message popped up on your phone, you were out of the door.
You thanked the heavens for the fact that your home was in such an isolated part of Kyoto but you undoubtedly missed the sounds of the city that accompanied much of your childhood. Kento was always on the fence about that topic, though he preferred a bit of quiet. The man was almost more fond of silence than jujutsu, that’s where you two were similar.
Your inattentive and hurried steps slipped your keys out of your hand and onto the ground by the car door allowing you a glimpse of your frantic state in the side-view mirror. With your right hand, you combed through some of the flyaways and knots in your hair that you neglected to notice and gathered yourself together. The bags beneath your eyes taunted your youth and the lack of moisturizer on your face was shamefully obvious.
And you couldn’t afford to worry Kento. Only one of you could be worried and you certainly reserved the right.
While standing up straight, you opened the car door with a newfound facade of calm and slid into the driver’s side. Placing your bag in the passenger seat, you jumped as the door slammed shut without you having grabbed it yet. This car was one of the newer models Kento bought with money from some freelance job he did for the government, so without needing to insert an actual key, you took in a breath as you pressed the button to start the engine. As you gathered your seatbelt and clicked it in, you pulled off towards Jujutsu Tech.
You hummed a made-up song as you rolled the windows down a bit, November has never been this beautiful. The weather felt hopeful. A small smile graced your lips as you spotted little landmarks that told you, you were going the right way. You were a bit excited to see the school again and hoped to run into Shoko to slide her your late birthday gift.
But you also couldn’t help focusing on that little feeling bugging you.
The government has called for a national emergency after the city failed to bring back power and service to all the residents. People have evacuated their homes to avoid what the public deemed “mysterious deaths.” No one truly knows what killed all those people in Shibuya.
And Kento is missing. Was missing.
You had reached the final turn of your journey, Jujutsu Tech was just up ahead. The school didn’t really have parking due to an incident that happened decades ago, so you pulled up on the grass right in front of the first entrance.
With an impatient quickness, you made sure the car was turned off, you pressed some face moisturizer and chapstick to your face and lips, grabbed your bag and flung the door open. Your winter boots were fast on the pavement as you walked towards the main building of the school.
Today was a special day, one you waited days for.
That’s when you see it, the short head of hair with thick black glasses and a woman in a lab coat speaking passionately about things you could only theorize.
“Masamichi, Ieiri!” you shouted but when neither moved you began to pick up the pace in your walk.”HEY SHOKO, YAGA, I’m here!”
Both sets of eyes turned to you in shock, it was obvious neither expected your arrival, especially because it seemed that both were leaving.
You relaxed as you joined them, the sweat on your body drying up with the cold air and just like a little girl, your inner game of i-spy got the best of you.
“What’s with all the boxes?” you questioned with a quirk of your brow. “And the handwriting I’m guessing is Masamichi’s?”
He looked between you and Ieiri with a knowing look and sighed, “Yes, it’s mine, I’m just boxing some stuff up to put in storage before heading off to Tokyo for a while.”
“Ah ok,” you smiled. “It has been a hard few weeks– months even, hasn’t it?”
“It truly has,” he placed a hand on your shoulder and gave it an affectionate squeeze. “Oh man, how about a hug before I’m off, huh?”
“It’s just Tokyo!” you comment.
“Oh just humor me, I’m getting old!” Yaga laughed and held his arms out expectantly.
“That you are.” Shoko sassed before dragging you into a brief group hug.
How unusual. You thought.
“Alright, you girls take care yeah? See you when I see you!” And with that, he and his boxes were off with a whistle.
The air was gentle in its movement and the silence the two of you stood in was antagonizing. Your fist was sweaty as you clenched it and your lips dried quickly in the late Autumn air. Your gaze wandered to Shoko as she looked out at Jujutsu Tech. So many memories and so few people to share them with.
“Let’s go inside, we can order something for everyone, what do you think?”
“Why are you here?” Shoko questioned you flatly.
“W-what?” You turned to her, confusion on your face. “You texted, said you had an update on Nanami so…”
“So I was going to come to the house.” She explained. Her face held some of its usual calmness but her eyes turned up with distress.
“Your attitude is unnerving at the moment, Ieiri.”
“Mine?” Her eyes widened. “Did you think logically at all while coming here?”
Her face was balled up in disbelief. She stepped back to take a look at you before composing herself. You on the other hand could not be more offended and frustrated.
“Think logically?! Shoko, what's your problem? I just came to see Kento.”
This is the first time you’ve seen the woman so distraught. Her eyes were teary and her hair stuck to her face as she clenched the strap of her bag, “I know you’re not dumb per se, you knew that when you walked up to me I wasn’t expecting you to come and even in the time we’ve stood here, I have not taken you to Nanami,” she took in a breath as she says your name. “I was on my way to yours.”
Her annoyance with you wasn’t pure, that much you could tell but you found yourself clueless as to why she was taking this tone with you. Instead of jumping on your friend and possibly having a huge argument when it’s evident that you both have been going through such a tough time, you opt for silence as you think about the past couple of days up to now.
“Did you even look at the rest of your texts?” she sighed. “Where’s your phone?”
Your hands were sloppy in going to grab it from your bag and five minutes into your search, you realized it wasn’t there. And while checking your pockets the image of you leaving it on your coffee table flashed strongly in your mind.
“I don’t… have it…”
“Figures…” Shoko tutted. “I texted that I’d meet you at your place because well… you know why.”
Her eyes were sharp and stern, like that of a mother reminding a child of the rules. And after wracking your brain for any possible answer, you concluded that you do. You know exactly why Shoko didn’t rush to take you to Kento. You know why he hasn’t at least texted or called, why he hasn’t tried to contact you at all. You know he went to Shibuya that night to watch out for Yuji, you know. You know why he isn’t in front of you right now. You just refused to admit it.
“Shoko…” you shook your head with wide eyes as your hand laid on the place between your chest and the base of your neck.
He couldn’t be. No not when you feel so much hope, it’s impossible. You and Kento are connected, your souls so intertwined you’d both joked about being lovers in past lives. You two are so close that you can decipher his emotions by reading the lines on his face, the slight movement of his lips, the change in his posture… you can even feel him when he’s not there. And you felt him, all these days you’ve felt him, at least you think you did.
“Everyone… they’re all… Satoru isn’t but he’s- I don’t,” she trails off as tears silently cascade down her face. “And they said Suguru was there but he- he wasn’t him.”
“Shoko, please tell the truth…”
There was a whiplash of emotion. You felt way too hot and way too cold. Everything around you moved all too fast and all too slow. A pint of nausea crept into your gut, the only reason it results in nothing is due to the lack of food and energy you failed to have while Kento was away. You were in agony, the feeling of horror and disbelief crawling into a hole so deep inside you it already began to rot.
“I’ve never even felt this way before, I usually feel so calm, not empty just a bit unbothered but this time, this time I feel so much, too much.”
“Oh, Shoko.” You joined her in her emotions, your knees weak, melting under distress, you fumbled to the stairs beside her. Your cough was girthy and your mouth furrowed with your eyebrows, you pleaded with her. “Oh, I- I… I’m sorry I just-, please say the truth.”
She slightly bends forward at your misstep to make sure that you’re okay and once she gets that overcompensating nod, she straightens up with despair almost permanently etched into her face. “He’s gone… Kento is gone, dead…and I’m so sorry,” she choked.
“Oh, w-what am I going to do? I can’t-… how am I supposed to live Shoko? Tell me, tell me Shoko how?!.” You retch, chest erratic as you struggle for air. You clutch your stomach as thick tears roll down your chin.”This hurts…so much.”
For the third time today, you were reminded of your childhood as you cried and hugged your legs on the steps of Jujutsu Tech. Shoko watched as you broke down and she couldn’t contain her composure as her bag fell from her arm and her hands searched to embrace you. Your sorrow was too great to suppress, so you gave up on fighting it.
Nanami, the man whom you named the love of all your lives, was gone, really gone in every sense of the word and there was nothing anyone could do to bring him back. You were sure you still felt him, and now you see that it was only your heart deceiving your mind.
Everything switched at the realization, causing pain and grief to strike your body in constant waves, and every sound, every figure, even the gushing of the wind, was blurred and muffled. You looked to Shoko, watching as her mouth trembled and stumbled on the words detailing all she tried to do to save him, but life was already too far gone. To try and save Kento Nanami would be like grabbing for air.
You were inconsolable, so much so that your emotions had spilled you from Shoko’s arms and placed you on the ground, bowing before your heartache at her feet.
Your home was no longer ours.
Your love was no longer shared.
You were empty, the only thing in you left was nothing at all. You might as well be dead too

Dec 4 - Scarf - @wolfstarmicrofic - Word count: 259
He was running late. He was always late. He could hear the low murmur of voices downstairs. His beloved family was gathered below. How he hated them all.
He heard the soft approach of footsteps on the landing outside, the knock at the door and then -
"Mistress wants Sirius downstairs at once," Kreacher hissed.
Sirius did not reply and stared up into the canopy above his bed.
"Kreacher will not leave until Sirius replies."
Sirius growled in frustration. He'd avoided them as long as he could.
"Fine," he ground out, getting up off the bed and walking over to the chest of drawers. He'd have to wear a tie. His mother would expect it.
On the other side of the door Kreacher muttered under his breath and waited.
Opening the drawer he saw it, half-hidden beneath his own things, the glimpse of soft brown wool. Sirius reached out to touch it, to remove it from its hiding place, unfurling the scarf he'd borrowed from his friend.
Borrowed. In truth he had stolen it. He'd watched as Remus had forgotten it, leaving it behind on the arm of the chair. Remus had looked for it for weeks. At first Sirius had helped him. But it had been pretend.
Remus had given up and had written to his mother. He'd hoped it wouldn't be too much trouble for her to make him a replacement. Eventually she'd sent a scarf - hand-knitted and soft green. Remus claimed it was better than the brown one he had lost.
And Sirius had kept the secret.

This halloween is dedicated to the ghosts of friends I used to talk to, the spectres of what-once-was and what-could-have-been, and the hauntings of habits appropriated from them - proof that they are still around in some small way.
Happy halloween everyone :)

Cheyennexshadow : I want to see starscream bonding with the children when he was trusted to be alone with them while the autobots including ratchet on a mission, then june darby came to visit as she's unaware of starscream recently joining the bots.
Oh I have a feeling it's going to be funny and fluff X), maybe also sad but cute in the end. Thank you for your request Cheyennexshadow.
~~~
The Autobots had left on a mission, leaving Starscream alone at the base with the children. The Seeker was initially reluctant, not understanding why it wasn't Ratchet who stayed with the humans.
"We need Ratchet for this mission. Optimus explained simply.
- But… I assure you that I can be useful…! the jet exclaimed. You don't need to leave me behind at the base!
- I don't doubt your skills, Starscream. But they are not needed for this mission."
The flyer couldn't stop his wings from lowering, as his paranoid mind kept screaming at him that they didn't want him anymore. Starscream knew he should have prepared for this possibility, but it was hard to accept.
"If... if it's about the previous mission... the Seeker began.
- It's not about that." Ratchet intervened, much to the jet's surprise.
The doctor sighed, before continuing:
"Look, Starscream, we need someone at the base, it's important."
- …”
The flyer looked away and clutched his wings, unconvinced by the ambulance's speech.
“See it as a mark of trust on our part. Ratchet added.
- What? Starscream wondered a little.
- We leave you alone in the base, with the children as a bonus. This is the biggest proof of trust we could give you."
The Seeker was for a time grateful to the doctor for his speech, but his previous anguish was quickly replaced by another. What if he failed at this?! What if he couldn't take care of the base or the children?! He liked them, there was no problem there, but he never had to be alone with them, much less take care of them. What if Miko decided to go on the run again, and he couldn't stop her?! And if…
“Don’t worry Screamer, it’s going to be fine. Wheeljack huffed with a laugh.
- I'm not worried… lied the jet.
- Hm, hm…
- Anyway! Go! It's good!"
The Autobots eventually entered the portal, and the flyer stood in front, wanting to prevent any sort of escape from the Japanese girl.
“It’s okay, chill! I'm not going to do anything! laughed the young girl.
- Do you think I'm a fool? Starscream huffed.
- At least I would have tried."
Miko returned to sit on the couch next to Raf, while Jack moved closer to the Seeker. He placed his elbows on the railing, and the jet came closer, his wings raised with stress, before saying:
“Be careful, don’t fall!
- You don't need to worry like that, Starscream. reassured the brown haired boy.
- …
- This isn't the first time you've spent time with us.
- Yes… ! But I was never alone...! The Autobots are unconscious, it's terrible...!
- Why would they be? Do you intend to harm us?
- Of course not!
- Then you have no reason to worry.
- …
- The Autobots trust you, but you also have to trust yourself."
The flyer could not hold back his wings which lowered, and Raf had a little look of sorrow, then asked:
“Want to watch a movie with us?
- What?"
Starscream had a surprised expression, and Miko jumped on the couch, before exclaiming:
"Oh yeah! Let's watch an action movie! A good blockbuster!
- Or something calmer. huffed Jack.
-How about we let Starscream choose." proposed Raf.
The Seeker shook his head sharply, before focusing back on the ground bridge.
“The Autobots may need a portal at any time. I don't have the freedom to watch a "movie".
- You need to relax a little… sighed the Japanese girl.
- …
- Oh! Otherwise, let's play a board game!
- You can play whatever you want, but don't include me in it.
- Would you do it if it was a mission?
- Of course, but this is not the case actually!
- So you only do something if it's a mission, it's boring.
- It's the war!" shouted the jet, his wings raised in anger.
The children could not hide their surprise, and the flyer quickly retracted, before stammering:
"S-Sorry... I didn't mean it like that... Just, don't tell the Autobots, okay...?
- We won't say anything, I promise. reassured Jack.
- …”
Miko came closer, and stood next to the brown haired boy, then said:
“Please do something with us. I don't like seeing you stressed like this."
Starscream looked towards the children, and scratched his helmet, eventually looking away. He didn't want to see their disappointed looks... Either way, they were probably going to end up hating him, like everyone else. He couldn't reveal too much about himself, or they would end up being disgusted...
“I can’t…” was the Seeker’s response.
The Japanese girl frowned, before rushing to her bag and grabbing something.
“Miko?” asked Jack.
The girl rushed towards the Seeker, who had his back to them, and shouted:
“Hey! Screamer!"
The jet turned around with a sullen expression, forbidding her to call him that, when he caught a balloon filled with red paint directly in an optic.
The flyer let out an exclamation of surprise, and put a hand to his eye, before his wings rose in anger. Starscream did his best to clear the paint, before shouting:
“Argh! You little…
- Paint fight!" declared Miko vigorously.
The Seeker had a slightly surprised expression, while the young girl pointed at her bag while smiling at the jet, inviting him to take his revenge.
“You don’t have any lessons in your bag?! Jack wondered.
- Hmm… No!" smiled the Japanese girl, before throwing a paint ball at the teenager's head.
The brown haired boy spit a little, after taking some in his mouth, and the flyer couldn't hold back a laugh. He ends up deciding to look in the young girl's little bag, determined to take revenge.
The balloons were too small for Starscream to grab with both hands, but he could see that Miko had done her best to make the balloons as big as possible to be caught by a Transformer.
The Seeker soon joined the battle, mainly targeting the Japanese girl. Raf went to take refuge in a corner, but Jack refused the boy with glasses to escape, and hit him in the back with a ball. The little boy fell backwards, before laughing at the ridiculousness of his fall.
Miko fired again towards the jet, which managed to dodge the girl's attack. He responded, not firing too hard so as not to hurt the Japanese girl, who jumped to avoid the ball, not seeing the second one coming, and taking it directly in the head.
She fell on her butt, and wiped the paint from her eyes, before sticking her tongue out, with a slightly disgusted expression, indicating that she had gotten some in her mouth. Jack laughed in the distance, then exclaimed:
“Karmaaaa!”
Starscream in turn made fun of Miko's situation, who soon joined them in their laughter. The Seeker found the situation so amusing that he didn't had a moment to think about his anxieties and the future. The Japanese girl moved closer to the jet, then said:
“I prefer it when you laugh. It shouldn’t be so rare to see you like this…”
The jet smiled a little, but there was far more sorrow than joy. The flyer looked away a little, when they heard the security alarm activate, then saw a car enter the base.
Starscream initially thought it was Agent Fowler, until the driver got out of the vehicle, and looked at him with wide eyes. The Seeker raised his wings in surprise, facing this complete stranger.
June froze when she saw this Decepticon close to the children, and couldn't hide her horror when she saw them covered in red liquid from head to toe. The nurse said absolutely nothing, like the jet.
The flyer turned to the trio, waiting for them to do something, but they too seemed unsure of what to do. Starscream decided to take matters into his own hands, and moved slightly closer, before the human pulled a taser out of her car, and threatened him with it.
“Get away from the kids and me!”
The Seeker tightened his wings, and backed away, not preferring to know what this weapon did. It might be tiny, but he'd rather not repeat the mistake he'd made with the MECH.
Miko rushed between the jet and Jack's mother, then took a protective stance in front of the flyer. June looked at this in surprise, while the Japanese girl shook her head, before exclaiming:
"Wait! He's not a bad guy! He's with the Autobots!
- But… But his optics are red! And… his a plane! Planes aren't always Decepticons?! replied the nurse.
- What stupid clichés!" Starscream shouted, his wings raised in anger.
The girl gave the Seeker a reproachful look, asking him to remain calm. Jack's mother quickly approached Miko, then asked:
“Are you hurt?!
- No, it's paint. replied the Japanese girl.
- Paint ?!
- Long story.
- Well you'll have to tell me, because I need explanations!"
The children ended up explaining everything to June, the fact that Starscream was a former Decepticon, and that he switched sides. They didn't lie about the fact that the integration wasn't easy, but they also added that the Seeker was now completely part of the family.
The jet did his best to hide that he was flattered by the trio's last sentence, then lowered his wings when he faced June's stern expression. Despite the children's speech, she was not convinced, her expression becoming more serious by the second. The nurse crossed her arms, before growling:
“Call Prime, I have two words to say to him!”
~
The Autobots were quick to return after June's call, who didn't wait until they all left the ground bridge to begin her sermon.
“When did you think that was a good idea?! Leaving the children to a former Decepticon, Optimus, have you lost your mind?!
- Starscream is perfectly capable of taking care of them. replied the Prime.
- He's a Decepticon!
- Former. Ratchet corrected.
- It doesn't matter, I don't want him near the children, especially not alone!
- But he's not evil!" Miko tried to defend.
While the others argued, Starscream watched all this in the distance, in a corner of the base. The less he stood out, the better he was now... The others were going to blame him for that, it was sure! The Seeker sighed discreetly, before hearing:
“Don’t you have anything to say to defend yourself?!”
The jet looked up at Arcee, unable to hide his surprise, while the motorcycle continued:
“Do you agree with what June said?!”
- …”
The flyer frowned, before responding:
“You could try to understand her point of view, no?"
The others had a surprised expression, and Jack's mother was no exception.
“Imagine you have a child, or know children and care about them. How would you react if they were alone with someone who was your enemy not long ago? Someone who others have portrayed as a monster.
- …
- I'll tell you, you will be suspicious, on the defensive. You will think about the safety of your Sparkling above all else. You will do everything to protect them... before it is too late... Because, for a parent, giving they trust to easily does not threaten only they life but also that of their child... You cannot blame her to distrust me…”
Everyone remained silent, before June approached Starscream, who raised his wings in surprise. The nurse held out her hand towards the Seeker, her gaze filled with understanding. The jet stretched out his hand in turn, and Jack's mother grabbed one of his claws, before saying:
“I don’t trust you completely.
- …
- But, I am now sure that you will never harm the children."
June tightened her grip on Starscream's finger, then whispered, away from prying ears:
“A parent doesn't hurt children."
The Seeker nodded gently, with a sad smile, before taking the nurse in his hand. The jet raised his wings, and declared:
"We had a bad start, and I haven't known you long, but you're already my favorite.
- Oh no ! I have been dethroned!" Miko exclaimed, before making a dramatic stance.
Everyone laughed at the Japanese girl's overreaction, and June gave Starscream a soft smile, before saying:
“Welcome in the team!”
Moon was looking at the ceiling in their room, lying flat on the big mattress. His arm was curled around Sun's middle, holding him close. Moon swore that he could see the star stickers glow.
"... Do you really think they don't like us anymore, Moonie?" Sun sniffled as he suddenly spoke, making Moon pause for a moment. "I don't know, Sunbeam..." Moon muttered an answer, his voice raspy yet comforting. He knew it was due to Sun's fans running a little smoother. "I think they don't like change is all... But that doesn't excuse them avoiding you- us." Moon said gently but firmly.
Sun hummed into Moon's chest, where he rested his head. "I suppose... I just miss them." He spoke quietly to Moon, almost as if it was some wild secret. "I was so ready those months ago when we got these bodies that we could invite them up here! And finally, have a slumber party and then- then..." Sun sniffled again, and Moon sighed as he tilted his head and kissed the other's forehead.
"Then they had the look of fear and ran. I'm sorry, Sunlight. I'm sure when they have had a good night's rest, they will come here tomorrow and apologize to you-" Moon said with a tender smile as Sun added a soft 'To Us.'
Moon hummed again as he held around Sun and hummed along to the soft melody from his musicbox in his chest. "Rest little bright Star. Be good for me and relax." Moon murmured as Sun mumbled something as Moon attached the charger in the neck port Sun had.
"Tomorrow will be better, my dearest and brightest Light. I promise." Moon softly spoke before attaching his charger, then went back to holding Sun close and let his eyes fall shut.
Hopefully, it will be better tomorrow. It had to be.
