I needed to do a Link's Awakening animatic or I would explode, it's been for too many months in my head, and after two days glued to my ipad I finally finished this muhehe.

I wanted to use Strawberry Blonde by Mitsky but ugghhh I couldn't think of how to draw it, BUT, I discovered this song like a month ago and couldn't stop thinking about them TAT.

So yeah instead of chapter 2 I give you this wonky ahh animatic that made me cry in various ways instead. HOPE YOU LIKE IT :·3!!!!💖

First Link sketches

We’ve seen in YE3 how Xia Fei lacks impulse control. This is evident in Vein watching over his snack intake and XF himself apologizing for his temper.

However, Xia Fei being short-tempered/impulsive doesn’t quite align with what we’ve seen of him in his flashback. He was calm and stoic for the most part. Even when his roommate knocked off his glasses and grabbed his face, he was still able to contain himself in spite of his obvious anger. It wasn’t until the other guy brought up the “make money off his face” thing that Xia Fei lost it.

So, I think XF actually used to be able to restrain himself just fine. But then something happened...

Until proven otherwise, I stand by my theory that Xia Fei burned down his dorm and killed everyone inside it. (His song is full of fire metaphors)

(Xia Fei’s frame in the OP also follows the burning dorm frame)

(edit: Turns out the burning building is not his dorm. But! XF was also in Bahati, so maybe it still counts jsdgfjgsjfgs)

Maybe he didn’t really mean to kill them. Maybe he got into a fight with his roommate and a lighter was knocked off or something. Maybe it was just something out of rage after someone suggested to him for the nth time that he’s a manwhore. And by the time he comes back to himself and realizes what he’s done, he’s panicking because he could go to jail for it, essentially ruining his future.

But then Vein comes along and finds everything amusing. The wet puppy he saved the other day is now committing arson. He tells Xia Fei he’ll handle everything, and from then on he shelters him.

And now, Xia Fei, who acted on impulse after years of self-restraint, finds that he is actually able to get away with it. And it feels so good. He actually doesn’t have to take it all in silence. Why has he been holding back this entire time?

And so, his impulse control became bad. He knows he shouldn’t, and yet, he also knows he could. Because Vein will be there for him.

Ladies snickering at him for being a manwhore? So what, Vein is the best.

Cheering for a team in a pub full of the enemy team’s fans? Well, time to call Vein to save his ass.

I’m sure Xia Fei has caused a lot more trouble prior to what we’ve seen him do in YE3. It’s so much so that his temper has become a recurring point brought up in Vein’s “scolding”

But I just know that, in spite of Vein telling him off, he actually finds Xia Fei’s temper endearing.

Vein’s song, Bloody Storm, has this line in the first chorus:

Bow your head, surrender, and hand your kindness over to desire

Vein loves it when people give into their dark sides.

on my personal interpretation of Voidwalkers, they're born from one single void star, their true form are nothing but floating void that forms the shape of a body - in X and Ex's case they were both borned from the same multicolor star, their forms separated and became two different entities from the two colors that shifted inside the void star, and this is shown both in their personality, shape, powers and especially hair and eye color, a very rare type of Voidwalkers, who usually are born alone, to be twins

It's to believe that when one of the Twin Voidwalkers succumbs to death, the remaining Twin, now a regular Voidwalker, will absorb the true form of their deceased half and they will become one single star once again

in some universe out there, Xisuma reamerged on hermitcraft with strikes of white in his hair and red tinted eyes, and something missing from his side

Idea:

Sky is very protective of the Zelda’s (bc those are HIS KIDS no matter how distantly they’re related, and they’re also all the reincarnations of his favorite person). He’s protective of the other Links too, but in a different way.

So one day they end up in Wild’s era pre-calamity and hear Rhoam insult Zelda. The rest of the chain watch as calm, peaceful Sky hands Fi to the nearest Link (so he doesn’t just slit Rhoam’s throat- he does have SOME restraint) and stalks between Rhoam and Zelda. He smiles, and it makes a few members of the chain remember that one of his titles is Godslayer. He punches Rhoam in the face.

Wild records it on the Shiekah Slate to show Flora later.

Sky would be the ULTIMATE badass father, also he’s such a girl dad, I don’t make the rules. Bro is ending the generational trauma by taking his daughter (and great great great great etc. grand daughters) out for tea and spending time with them. I need him to be in a room with all of them at the same time because they’d have so much fun

i now have the mental image of sky and all his badass descendants beating the fuck out of someone and calling it father daughter bonding

"Wild, you sure that's stable?" Twilight asked. He was eyeing the log skeptically. It was thick, but the bark was mostly gone and it was starting to decay. Wild looked up from where he and Legend were admiring the shelf fungi growing on the side of it.

"Hm? Oh, yeah, totally. I've walked across it before."

Twilight raised an eyebrow and glanced meaningfully between Wild and himself. "We're not exactly the same size, cub."

"You'll be fine," Legend interrupted. "Just transform into Wolfie if you're so worried."

Twilight tilted his head to the side and nodded. "Not a bad idea, actually." His wolf form was lighter and it would be easier to balance. If one leg slipped, he had three more to keep himself steady.

Twilight placed his candy bag on the ground with the handles sticking up. He stepped back and pulled on the chord holding the Shadow Crystal until it popped free tom his costume. He took a breath, braced himself, then grabbed it. The black crystals faded and the sensations of the shift settled, then he shook out his fur and stretched.

Wild was already on the other bank and Legend hopped off the log just as Twilight looked. Legend hit the end of the log with his cardboard shin guard then shrugged. "Should be stable enough."

Twilight grabbed the handle of his candy bag with his mouth. It swung easily above the ground, as all the bags he owned did. It was a habit he could never quite get out of, and it continued to come in handy. He trotted across the log then dropped the bag at Wild's feet to prepare to transform back.

"Wait, wait!" Wild exclaimed. Twilight froze and looked at him with a curious tilt of his head.

"You can't switch back yet. I've been waiting all month for this." Wild dug through his bag until he pulled out a plain white sheet. Twilight's ears and tail dropped before he even saw the cutouts for his eyes and snout.

Twilight growled and snapped at Wild's hand as it got close.

"Aw, come on! Just for a little bit?" Wild begged.

"You'll look very cute," Legend said smugly. Twilight glared.

Wild shoved him. "Not helping! C'mon Twi, please? Pleeeeeease? Please please please please please please please please plEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE-

"Dear gods please," Legend teased, hands over his ears.

Fine! Twilight gave in, and it came out as a sad, resigned bark.

"Yay!" Wild cheered. He rushed in to drape the sheet over Twilight before he could change his mind.

Twilight sat down and sighed, once again what he did to deserve this. Wild beamed and snapped a picture with his slate.
