Proposal to work Emmerich and Belisma into the modern Scroogeverses:

The Twins and Emmerich went to university together and were roommates. While they were in business and finance, he was in mortuary sciences, but they all got on quite well together. (Side detail: Twins also worked for Fezziwig through uni.)

Fast forward a few decades, they all meet up again at a class reunion, each bringing their prospective wifeys. The Twins are successful, billionaire businessmen, Emmerich is a well-known professor of mortuary science at a prestigious school. (He also has a side-hobby of studying the prospect of the supernatural: ghosts, spirits, etc.). Cue them all seated at a table, all the girls chatting animatedly, getting on famously, and all these distinguished silver-foxes just... exchange besotted and fascinated looks. Imagine: all three of them finding love later in life with equally lovely, wonderful, and vibrant women. (Probably all foreign? For some reason, I imagine Belisma probably wouldn't be English?) Apparently, good things really do come to those who wait. (And endure traumatic spiritual time travel to save their souls.😅)

OH MY GOSH. 🥹

This is so cute and honestly incredibly perfect for them! And it lines up with timelines, and the details in their backstories, perfectly.

Emmrich is canonically in his early fifties (51-55) so he and the twins would all be in college around the same time, especially for their more advanced degrees.

All of them were also poor growing up (Emmrich before AND after was orphaned when parents died in a building collapse) so I can see them bonding from that as well, surrounded by all these trust-fund kids in their prestigious classes. They share drinks and complain about it.

Life pulls them apart, and time passes.

Him being a professor is perfect, but with a heavy side-hustle studying spirits and ghosts. (Oh, he would LOVE to hear about the Twins experience - he’d actually believe them without any hesitation or judgement! Many intrigued questions await.)

They meet up again decades later, and I imagine they’re all pleasantly surprised that each of them has found love. The only past paramour Emmrich will reveal in-game is a woman who left him because (it’s heavily implied) that she didn’t want to commit. And we know what happened to the Twins too. 🥲

So when they all show up with ladies on their arm? Fascinating, indeed!

Belisma would not be English, you’re correct, haha. It’s funny you should mention nationality, haha.

She and Emmrich are technically both from the in-game country of Nevarra, but BioWare/EA could never decide on a canon accent, so everyone sounds completely different, lmao. In the Character Creator, Belisma uses the upper-pitch “American Female” (Erika Ishii) voice option.

Belisma was also orphaned as a baby (the game gave her that backstory, I promise I’m not making all my OCs orphans on purpose lmaooo) so she was found in Nevarra, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that’s where she’s from.

In the modernverse, I’d say she’s actually from the U.S. (LA) since that’s the accent her voice has. Connie and Orin have New Yorkers as voice claims, after all, lmao.

Belisma would get along with the girls splendidly! They can reminisce about life back home. She is a bookish woman, and definitely introverted. She’s not a social butterfly and comes across as a little over-eager and awkward with a morbid sense of humor sometimes, but she genuinely warms up easily when she sees Connie and Bess are kind and supportive. Also, they all have (ahem) similar tastes in men~

“Do you ladies like thrifting by any chance?”

“You know, um … My other friends made such a fuss about the 20-year gap between Emmrich and I. They’re supportive, but I can tell they don’t fully understand it. It’s nice to be with people who do and aren’t judgmental.”

“Oh my gosh, those blooms are gorgeous! Bess, would you ever consider offering gardening lessons? My husband adores flowers, but everything I touch just seems to die. I know I’m doing something wrong.”

“So, Connie, your family is into philanthropy too, yes? For unhoused children and families? That’s … nice to hear. I’m glad more resources are being created.”

“So, both your husbands are the CEOs of S&C? I’m dreadful with numbers and business sense, so I have no clue if this is helpful, but I’m working with the university to create more internship options for students who want to learn mortuary sciences, physics, chemistry and biology. I’m sure we could provide some financial aid if you have any programs in the works.”

I really enjoyed this chapter of project impact! I liked the fact that they got to explore so much but I was on the edge not knowing if Taeyong or Doyoung would spice it up the last hour and have something happen or not🫢 love the dynamics between y/n and the dreamies, the way you write them together makes me smile a lot❣️ also the sunglasses scene at the end was so cute😭💕

The only exciting thing that has happened to me this week was that I had my last shift this Thursday! It was a pretty uneventful shift and me and my coworker managed to leave an hour earlier. Yeah the scenario was very general, I wanted the reader to come up with their own thoughts or reasons as to why Donghyuck ended up where he was. Was feeling in the mood for some angst for sure, a small little scenario that had a punch of feels to it.

I’ve been alright, I ended up catching the flu which wasn’t fun during my work holidays but it’s fine. Yeah the albums came in which made my day, I actually did get the other version (extrovert version) but its only getting here on the 4th 😭😂 plus my other album is coming on the 4th which is the Glitch mode album (Glitch version) so I’m gonna probably post about them too. Yeah I like the small posters, I don’t want the big posters that much because i don’t want to hang anything other than abstract art currently around my home haha, my room can have the mini posters on the walls though. My bedroom has so many random things on it including other artists and music genres, and well art.

this month has been so exhausting but surprisingly i've been handling things rly well!!! despite the weekly physical pain from shoots and almost getting sick Twice ur girl is still standing strong<333 not tryna jinx it or anything but i'm happy where i am :)

and this month i've been meeting people w similar passions + better experiences in the photo and video field (aka where i'm headed) and i'm learning a lot! and tbh it's brought more benefit in my life in just a few weeks compared to the 5 years of friendship i had w my fake friends lol

my circle is a lot smaller (and better) now. the remaining close friends i have now don't know each other and idk i think that's better bc that way they can't talk shit abt me or anyone else we know to each other 😹 they've been my best friends since childhood actually and i realized i never rly felt uncomfortable w them in any occasion compared to the other 2.. idk if i mentioned but early this yr i already noticed some patterns in their behavior but oh well. i've accepted it was a canon event<3 the universe was telling me something abt them and i listened! still hurt like a bitch but i feel better and i've been slaying in my craft After the entire thing bff i'm proud!! the glow up after a bad relationship is real i get it now

Eyeroll emoji - Adam's Rib (1949). You can never really go wrong with a Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy romcom, they're both excellent actors with chemistry for days (like, god, there was a reason they were in nine romances together) and this one is probably my favourite. In it, they play a married couple who are both lawyers who end up working on opposite sides of the same case - a case where a neglected woman attempts to kill her husband. At the time of it's release, it was a bit of a grenade and it actively tackled conversations of changing gender roles in post-WWII America, and the social and relationship pressures a lot of people felt. You really feel the fact that it was co-written by a woman too, and even beyond the great premise, it's genuinely really funny. Eyeroll emoji only because - - well, it did come out in 1949 so some of the gender politics are outdated to say the least, haha.

Relieved emoji - Bright Star (2009). Yes, sure, this movie is technically a 'tragedy' or whatever, but it's totally a comfort film for me too. It's so exquisitely made, and is probably my favourite Jane Campion film. The story of the poet John Keats' romance with Fanny Brawne is just really tenderly told, and the cinematography is to die for.

Don't speak emoji - The Children's Hour (1961). This movie never seems to feature in conversations of early lesbian cinema, which is a real shame, because it's genuinely very good and I think features possibly both Audrey Hepburn and Shirley Maclaine's best performances. At an all-girls school, a vindictive student accuses two of her teachers of lesbianism, and it trickles out in ways most of them couldn't imagine.

Holding back tears emoji - Hold Back the Dawn (1941). Another teacher-themed one just for youuuu. The synopsis of this movie always sounds a little silly, but it has so much heart and is inherently a film about kindness. A Romanian male sex worker is trying to get into the US to meet up with his lover who's recently married a man there in a green card marriage. He gets stopped at the border though and ends up stranded in Mexico. While he's there, he meets a teacher from America who's out with her school group, and plans to marry her for the green card, only to actually fall in love with her in the process. Olivia de Havilland is always my #1, and she's just so, so sweet in this, as are Charles Boyer and Paulette Goddard. It's really a movie about how to find and build a home, and I just love it a lot.

Hot emoji - The Handmaiden (2016). Oh man, what can I say about The Handmaiden? In Japan-occupied Korea in the 1930s, a young Korean woman is hired to be handmaiden to a reclusive Japanese heiress, only the handmaiden is actually a pickpocket recruited by a swindler posing as a Japanese Count who's trying to rob the heiress blind. And that's basically just the first ten minutes. I know you're going to hate this, haha, but the best way to go into The Handmaiden is without knowing much about it, because it is a ride. It's also a deeply intimate and compelling love story and while I do think some of the sex scenes can be a bit much, on the whole it's a movie that oozes sensuality and I love that for it and for me.
