Jo-Ann spoke up, sitting up a bit from her once reclined stature. "Oh, that's Jim-Bob!" "That's Jo-Ann." They point at each other, grimacing in their own ways. The bubble finally comes to a stop at the crux of the mech's faceplate. "I was curious, what is your favorite rock?" Jo chirped, resting her chin on her hands, her dimples prodding at either cheek. Jim rolls his eyes in annoyance.

"Whirl, a moment, if you will."

Whirl looks behind his shoulder, then turns to Megatron.

"Oh, hey, long time no see. What's up?"

"You know," he starts, popping another oil cookie into his mouth with a pleased rumble, "I could get behind an actual 'Christmas', this time around. If nothing happens."

Dot glances up at Megatron from where she's half laying on top of her jeep, arms folded across her chest. She's exhausted, but at least he's always seemed to recognize that.

"If you say that out loud, Megs, you'll jinx it." But she pushes herself up fully regardless. "But if you're down, then I doubt the kids would say no. It'll bet he Terrans' first Christmas, too, so I think we could make somethin' real special of it."

one detail I really liked that I haven’t seen anyone touch on is how death only ever showed up when puss was close to potentially dying, which lead me to realize puss was probably going to drink himself to death at their first meeting

To delete does not mean that there's no existing copy. I save copies of everything. It means you remove it because it doesn't fit for that story. It may, however, fit for a different story. Or it can be disassembled and used in multiple works.
