20 questions for fic writers
(Ty @the-real-azalea-scroggs for the tag!! I know it took me a couple days lol)
1 - How many works do you have on A03?
11, apparently. That's remarkable!
2 - What's your total A03 word count?
57858. Which is pretty decent, nothing to write home about for me, but I'm cool with it.
3 - What fandoms do you write for?
Four Swords Manga (beloved) and LU, which is a subset of Legend of Zelda in the Links Meet area of things
4 - What are your top five fics by kudos?
A) Thoughts Like These
B) Piece It All Together
C) Beneath the Skin
D) Where We Are
E) Dancing With My Own Shadow
5 - Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Oh yes, all the time, thoroughly as I can, even though sometimes it might take me a few days. I enjoy comments! Just ADHD brain sometimes!
6 - What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Uh. So far it is the first chapter of Chasing Drabbles, which rather well implies the destruction of a town via natural disaster with no way of avoiding it.
7 - What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Thoughts Like These, maybe? Dancing With My Own Shadow has a fun ending,
8 - Do you get hate on fics?
I don't think so? Not that I know of? I've gotten a couple annoying comments about updating that I've had to delete, but never hate proper.
9 - Do you write smut?
No.
10 - Do you write crossovers?
Not really? I have one crossover with ideas but never a character crossover and really not usually setting crossovers either. I'm not too into the idea.
11 - Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope.
12 - Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13 - Have you ever co-written a fic before?
In a technical sense? Yeah, I suppose, although I am the primary writer and Ruby is the artist more than anything, so like. It os
14 - What's your all-time favorite ship?
Vidow. I have no regrets and I stand by it forever.
15 - What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Uh. I think some vague continuations for Dancing With My Own Shadow will probably be left by the wayside, though the work itself is finished. I had some plans, still have them, but no official prospects for another part.
16 - What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, building massive worlds that never leave my head, all kinds of joyful things that are wonderful for planning and not for completing bodies of work but that's what sprinting is for right? I'm also good at that, writing under lots of pressure for a deadline via the sprint bot, woo!
17 - What are your writing weaknesses?
Probably the description as it relates to scene setting and avoiding white room syndrome. I'm so guilty of this.
18 - Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I think it can work, provided it's not just thrown around! I haven't done it that I can recall, but it's sometimes useful and can be a fun little thing to have in.
19 - First fandom you wrote for?
Four Swords! Zelda! LU! All of the above! Ahhhhhhh!!
20 - Favorite fic you've ever written?
Uh, I suppose I like Beneath the Skin the most? I don't think I really have a favorite fic. I'm not much of a fic writer!
Other folks to tag... Oh, I don't know. I'll do that later.

Prompt 180
Danny looked at Wes, and Wes looked at Danny, both of their eyes saying the exact same thing: What the fuck is even happening right now.
Apparently they can be summoned. Apparently, a cult from a different dimension tried to summon something and got them instead. Apparently their bodies got shrunk, or de-aged or however one wanted to explain it. APPARENTLY, this universe has heroes, and apparently they seem to be their universe’s equivalent to two of the villains here.
Honestly, these “Cheshire” and “Riddler” people couldn’t be that bad compared to the Fentons. What are the chances they’ve committed war crimes or joined a government branch to legally vivisect things? That’s right, no chance. Probably.
They should probably leave the hero-people to their freakout and find a way home.

MAJOR TOTK SPOILERS
FINAL GEOGLYPH SCENE SPOILERS
.
So I still have beat the game yet but I know Zelda becomes the light dragon, so I’m assuming she stops being the light dragon at the end. Now, the chain re-meets up with Wild after he’s taken away for Totk, and now not only is Wild significantly more feral, they have to deal with Flora, who is tripple the amount of feral. She still has dragon like tendencies like growing and stuff. Now, her nails are also sharp, her eyes are still dragon like, and she has a thousand yard stare. She’s also noticeably taller than Wild, more so than before. And Wild just shows her off the the rest of the chain like
“There she is! Look at her! My former dragon gf!!! Isn’t she so pretty!”
And then Flora just stares at them all and tries to smile and act normal, but since she’s been a dragon for so long she’s kind of forgotten how to and just comes off as uncanny. Also she has sharp teeth.

||. 2am link thoughts bc there's something in the idea of a hero whose duty goes unfulfilled . the restlessness of that . the way it sits there , hot and heavy as an undeniable burden . it's how link kept himself silent because he didn't want to burden anyone else with the idea of a hero who had troubles of his own . it's how he bottled it all up and dealt with it all alone and kept his chin held high and let things pass through or around him because faltering isn't an option . it's about how that wasn't enough .
it's about how he's never really lost a battle in all of his incarnations ( save a singular branch of OoT anyways and even then //gestures at training TP!link. ) . it's about how the most ancient parts of link simply can't comprehend that . refuses to accept it . WILL NOT . it's about how he has to anyways . it's about losing . it's about the vengeance of it , at a point . the storming the front gates of the castle because SCREW YOU . it's about the ghosts he constantly interacts with in the king , the champions , the gravesites , the malice , the eventual poes and gloom .
it's about how he fell to the guardians anyways by no fault of his own , or really ANYONE'S fault besides calamity ganon himself , but how link won't ever really see it that way . maybe he will logically . but emotionally ? that's a harder sell .
it's about how they were blindsided and he wasn't ready . it's about the 100 years lost . it's about all of the lives lost . it's about the time zelda spends bridling the calamity in the castle by herself when link knows damn well he's been quite literally born to be at her side during this exact battle . it's about how it goes past that , though . it's personal . that's his best friend and confidante . that's his princess too . it's about how he's lost too much and he's most certainly not losing her . not again . not ever . certainly not after losing everybody else too .
it's about fear holding back instinct and stifling courage when that fear is left unreleased and yet , despite that , fear is exactly the fire to light beneath one's feet to be courageous enough to not repeat the past . it's about how courage isn't being fearless it's about what you do to rise about the fear . it's about how link is oh-so human . he's a teenage boy . it's about the terror and grief and guilt . it's about the courage and love and ( eventual ) acceptance .

AN IMPORTANT QUESTION.
If you don't know me, I'm waterspouts on AO3, and for some reason, you have probably read something of mine if you have a tendency towards Wild-centric content, especially Wild meets chain types.
I am working on my writing, but I need to concentrate on one item to meet a certain deadline. And thus, I need to ask.
I have both of these more than 50% complete, but I'm curious which people would want to see and I want to finish one of them for the aforementioned unspecified deadline. If you need a refresher, Thoughts Like These was a gift written in 2021 for artist appreciation for Dummy!
Link hasn’t got a lot left to him considering the state of his fragmented memory, but he does know a few things for certain at the moment.
1. The Ja’Abu Ridge hinox is mysteriously absent from its usual location.
2. The eight travelers distracted him enough that he broke his ankle fighting a regular lynel of all things.
3. They’re looking for the hero.
4. In his opinion, they can kindly mind their own business, and if they refuse, he can always have Zelda tell them. Tell them that the hero died a full century ago. Perhaps then they’ll leave him alone.
In which lynel riding, taking direct routes at the expense of cliff scrambling, tea and fruitcake, and fighting Flora with a spoon in the backyard occurs, along with a generous helping of introspection.
Also the chain is one step above the man standing emoji.
Currently Part 1 (But actually should be Part 3) of Wake Up, Hero.

Halsin x Calem has fun dynamics but Astarion is a better ship because I think Astarion would be more happy traveling around or living in separate spaces then Halsin. And Calem is very much not capable of being domestic. Guy gets more antsy until he's finally like a wild cat or parrot with no enrichment in their enclosure. He has to go and wander and fight. He could be a good partner if he's popping in an out to visit but not to stay, and even then he ends up looking for things to occupy him. Helping around the community.
That becomes very clear if he ever gets hurt badly enough on an adventure that he has to heal the slow way. By day three he's climbing the walls and wanting to do *something* even though he's still so injured he can only stand for a little at a time. Probably would drive poor Halsin insane.

Q&A time? Oh boy!
Question 1: Have you ever played a game called Celeste?
Question 2: What got you into the omori fandom in the first place?
Question 3: uhhhh not a question but your art is fantastic and always a joy to see on my dash
Answer 1: Nope, but I've heard of it, it's like a platformer game right if I'm correct?
Platformer games gives a rise to my blood pressure, especially Super Mario Deluxe. Hopefully Celeste is a single player game, I might loose my voice if I keep yelling at my siblings to stay on track.
Answer 2: My best friend.
One day she was like, "Yo check this new game out, it's so cool looking!!" Proceeds to share with me her bundle of OMORI fanarts.
Then I was like, "wait a min, ain't that super familiar like the trailer I saw 2 years ago?"
Then she was like, "Woah you knew this before?!" And I replied yeah, because I knew bo en before I stumbled across the then OMORI demo trailer. That time I was under the assumption that OMORI is just like those scrapped game that is never gonna be finished but I didn't know/didn't get the news that its actually announced and played. It was 2021 then.
I didn't really pay attention to it, maybe I kept OMORI over the back burner, then still obsessing over Zelda instead, but it's only until I watched a "OMORI story explained" video that I got interested in it again, back in May.
Then I gave in and bought the game to play back in July, and now here we are.
Saddest thing is, my best friend got a new thing to obsessed over (ahem- Genshin -ahem) and I'm left with this brain rot myself. We still talk about omori occasionally, in fact, this drawing/post I made was actually a challenge my best friend gave me to do :D.
Answer 3: Aw thank you so much, i love the seeing you in my inbox as well 💕
