I would love to know what people think of Mirabelle's act 5 super counter-shield. If you look at the shield book after Siffrin has already reminded her of the CARROT method, she says she'd like to learn how to reflect techniques someday, but those kinds of shields are really complicated. Even her friendquest shield doesn't repel attacks. So how can she do it in act 5? I feel like she would have realized some things about herself from fighting with Siffrin, but she would still be really upset and confused... it doesn't seem likely to me that she could have gotten a skill from that event, or at least not one that's better than her usual friendquest skill. Am I forgetting/did I accidentally skip any act 6 dialogue that covers this? I'm really curious about this, would love to know if there's any canon explanation I'm missing or any fan theories.

there's something to be said about the way that we both use facts about taylors life to interpret her music and how we use interpretations of her music to make assumptions about her life and how those are almost the same thing but not quite and what are the ethical and artistic and academic merits of these behaviors .

I have not posted any of my analysis to reddit yet and I think I might just post it and ghost it. I've already spent too much time looking at other people's threads on there to feel any way good about interacting with folks.

i love accommodating profs i love when they genuinely just want their students to enjoy the class and not make anyones life more difficult. like this prof always ends classes 10-30 mins early bc shes like why should i keep you guys longer if ive made my point for the lecture + she gives class wide extensions if she feels people are stressed or if just a few ppl ask for extensions + she just made our 2nd essay optional so if we like our grade for the 1st paper it just becomes 30% of our grade which i love her for and she also makes her tests v straightforward and easy and doesnt try to trick anyone she just tests you reasonably on what you should actually take away from the course content. i love you understanding profs

7kpp week: Letters

yes, this is technically the prompt for day 3, but I need a little more time to finish the prompt for today, and this one is done, so I'm switching them up and sharing a letter Elisabeth may have given to Hamin. A flowery shovel talk if you will. I usually imagine that she still invites Hamin to spend time with her on date day, for the sole purpose of giving him a shovel talk about Noah, which Hamin is far too amused about for his own good.

Yes Elisabeth is my ethical, compassionate, noble character. Her bark is worse than her bite. Mostly. Just don't hurt her brother and you should be fine!

Dear Pirate Prince Hamin,

Thank you for agreeing to meet with me on the coming Fireday. I am sure you would much rather spend the time finding mischief with my dear brother and he likewise. However, it is on my brother's behalf that I have requested a meeting and am writing this note.

i am sure multiple dozens of people would disagree with me but i LOOVE to think that zagreus eventually surpasses achilles' level of skill. im not actually sure if its stated in canon if zag can consistently beat him in a fight but like. all zag has is time. and hes 3/4 god, whereas achilles is uhh. either half nereid point blank period or like 1/8 god 7/8 nymph depending on the source BUT REGARDLESS i wouldnt say hes as divine as zagreus. like in a game of cards i think god overrules nymph but thats just me. anyway i love the idea that it does take time but zagreus does eventually pass achilles in terms of strength/tactics/speed but maybe im just incredibly biased. gets off my soapbox
