Life Update !!
this is so overdue but i've been crazy busy with college stuff (agh)
okay so you guys (probably) know that i'm in college getting a bachelors in social care and this whole semester (plus my second semester of third year) is work experience/placement.
for the americans and anyone else who doesn't know what that is: work experience is when students get a part-time or full-time job during the semester and shadow staff or professionals to get experience in their field.
my course has two work experience blocks, so i'm on placement for my entire first semester of second year (which is right now) and then also the entire second semester of third year, so i don't have any classes or lectures until January. we have to log 400 hours by the 6th of December so it's roughly 30 or 35 hours a week, for twelve weeks.
i started on the 9th of September and i'm working at a day service (or centre) for people with intellectual disabilities and mental health struggles (mostly the former). and it's actually pretty chill! my schedule is below
Mon to Thurs: 8.30 - 4.30
Wednesday: 8.30 - 12.30
Friday: 8.30 - 3.00
the place where i work always gives students a half-day so they can get more time for college work and lemme tell you, i was so hyped when i found this out because i thought it would be nine to five, monday to friday.
so like i said, it's been really chill, but adjusting to the new work routine has been really difficult because i finish at 4.30 but i don't actually get home until 5.00 and then i have to change and do stuff and it's been a little messy—but we're settling !!
the place is really chill, the service users (that's what the official term is for people who are involved with the social care sector) are all pretty nice. the majority of them are much older than me though, which is a little weird sometimes because i'm essentially in this position of leadership and 'authority' and telling a man who is a few decades older than me to go have his lunch 💀💀
the adjustment, again, has been a struggle because i've never had to create a work/life balance for myself? like when i'm at work i have to be present and focused, so i was on social media wayyy less and literally didn't message some of my friends for days outside of sending Instagram reels 💀 but like i said, i'm finally settling and finding some balance
my supervisor is also really cool, she's very flexible when it comes to missing days and says that i can make the hours whenever, like if i see an opportunity then i take it (if you don't have 400 hours logged by december, you fail placement) and she's always making sure that i'm comfortable and stuff because they haven't had a transgender student working for them before lol
outside of that uhhh not much? has happened?? i've gone through a lot of growth since August and i'm not really sure how it happened but like i'm just more confident now and i'm more comfortable in my sexuality (or should i say asexuality haha) and i've come to terms with a lot of things, been dealing with my anxiety really well (but i also got stress sick this last week because of procrastination and executive dysfunction kicking my ass)
also i got back into roleplaying bc my friend has this server and oh my God it's so good, i went ages without getting to roleplay anything because i didn't really have any partners (excluding reygn yes i see you gorgeous) and just ahh
also i'm back into anime, finally continued my hero academia and restarted jujutsu kaisen, slow going though because i'm fixating on other things simultaneously but holy shit mha season six?? goddamn
but uhh yeah so that's been my life :)
i have two fics in the works but when i'll get those finished is anybodys guess, could be next week could be next year, who knows lmao
i'm gonna try to post more on here—and i mean actually post not just reblogging shit lol
feel free to ask me whatever or leave stuff in my askbox

Looking to do a My Hero Academia roleplay!
Hey, it’s me, Galaxy 😎 Recently I’ve gotten back into MHA and I’m super invested in it. I originally watched it around 5 or 6 years ago I think? It was around the time I started roleplaying, and in fact, it was through MHA that I actually got into roleplaying, so it has a very special place in my heart. I’m currently on season 2 of the anime, but I watched up to season 4 a few years back so I know a good bit of lore and whatnot. I don’t mind spoilers or anything, well I mean I do to an extent, but I won’t be like mad if you tell me something that happens at a later time in the story.
I want this roleplay to maybe take place a few years before MHA, preferably more than five years into the past just so that we have some breathing room. I also kind of what it to be an AU, like maybe one of our characters is chosen by All Might to inherit One for All after his battle with All for One, or something like that. But of course, that wouldn’t have to be at the beginning of the roleplay, unless👀 I also want to do a MxF pairing with me being the male, and OCxOC is preferred!!
Please, PLEASE for all that is good and holy, don’t send me just a waving sticker or just “hey”, please give me an introduction about yourself. It doesn’t have to be a long one, just enough so that I know about my partner. Here’s one for example: *Hi! My name is Galaxy, I’m 16 years old and I’ve been roleplaying for 6 years. My literacy is literate, although I can mirror my partner’s length. I’m active most hours of the day, and my timezone is Eastern Standard Time.*
Also all of that above is true, my timezone is EST, I’m 16, and I’m literate👍 But anyways, I hope to see you in dms!!

Nation’s Top 10 Pro Hero Ingenium Saves Five People In Building Collapse
You can practically hear the headlines now, as Ingenium deposits you beside the other four victims. It doesn’t take him long to reprehend the villain with the earth crumbling quirk. As the small time crook gets escorted into the back of a police car, you watch the Turbo Hero give a quick interview. Shock strands you in place, your feet feeling as if they’ve grown roots into the concrete beneath you while the events of the last twenty minutes sink in.
Tenya Iida turns away from the camera as he begins to make his way back to his agency. As much as he loves his job, the paperwork would be the death of him, he swears it. You’re as quiet as you can be following him through the back alley shortcut. It’s no match for the seasoned pro, who turns on his heel to face you.
“If you wanted to speak to me, you could say so. There’s no need to stalk me through the streets,” he says politely.
“I- I, uh, I’ve never been part of a villain attack before. Y-you saw the way the roof caved in right where I was standing a second before. If, if it weren’t for you, I would be dead right now,” you let the words flow out of you like a tidal wave of nervous energy and mixed emotions. “Is, is there anything I could do to repay you? Anything at all.”
Tenya chews the inside of his cheek under his helmet. He helps people all the time without asking for anything in return. And you’re offering him so sweetly, it’d be rude to turn you down, he reasons.
“Anything?” he asks.
“Anything,” you reiterate. He takes a few gliding steps toward you as you freeze in place. M-maybe he’s got somewhere he wants to go for dinner? Saving people is hungry work, isn’t it? God, is that even a thing? You shake all your thoughts from your head. There’s no sense in overthinking things until he speaks. He lifts up his helmet and you see him, really see him, for the first time. Deep blue eyes, a handsome jaw, the face of the kind of man your parents would beg you to take home to them. He smiles at you, and it doesn’t quite reach his eyes.
“You can pay me back with your body,” he says.
“H-huh?” You take a step back.
“You said you’d repay me with anything, right? I think spending a night with me is worth having saved your life.” His eyes rake down your form, properly taking you in. The way your skirt is tight on your thighs, fuck, he’d love to bury his face in between them right now.
“I, I guess you’re right…” you say.
“You sweet little thing, it’ll be fun,” he promises. You don’t register that you’ve been taking small steps backwards until you feel your back bump into brick, Tenya’s arm coming down between himself and the wall to block you in. “What do you say?” He lets his other hand wander, lightly grazing your waist, your hip, your thigh, and back up to do it all again.
“I-if that’s what you want…” you stutter out.
“Good,” he says, removing his helmet entirely. His armour reflects the golden light of the setting sun in a way that makes him look like a knight, coming home triumphant from battle to woo his princess. With the press of a button, it all folds away and you’re left with a relatively ordinary man standing in front of you. His eyes, however, are dark with lust and are trained on your lips as if he’s going in for the kill.
“Heroes deserve a kiss, don’t you think, sweet girl? I’ve done such a good job keeping you alive. Reward me.” With honey dripping from his lips, his command sounds more like a request, one that’s easy for you to comply with. You look up at him, eyes innocent and wide, your lips slightly parted. He leans in and meshes his lips against yours. You feel him smile into the kiss, but it doesn’t feel warm. You’re a grown woman, well into your twenties, you know what a kiss feels like. What a kiss should feel like. Like attraction, affection, giddiness, lust. All you feel from him is power. But, he’s done a good thing for me, I owe him my life, this is a small price to pay, you think. And it helps that he’s handsome. Whether it helps you imagine you’re doing this for yourself, or it helps him prey on helpless girls in too tight skirts, you’re not sure.
Tenya slides his hand up under your skirt, teasing your pussy through your panties. His hands are large, but surprisingly soft for a hero. He leans his forearm against the wall, supporting himself on it. Despite yourself, despite the tiny red flags going off in your brain, you feel yourself getting wetter. He grazes his finger across your clothed clit and you moan into the kiss. Taking advantage of your open mouth, Tenya pushes his tongue inside, hellbent on tasting you.
“I don’t want to wait any longer. Do you think you can be a good, sweet girl and take me? I’m sure you can,” he murmurs.
“I, I think I can,” you say.
“Good,” he says smoothly. With a fluid movement, he’s pulling your panties down your legs. “Be a dear and step up, please. Good, now the other leg,” he instructs, sliding your underwear into his back pocket. He rolls the hem of your skirt up and licks his lips. The pinch of the fabric around the swell of your thighs looks just as delicious to him as your kiss tastes. He presses kisses to your neck as he nudges your thighs apart with his knee.
It’s not long before Tenya has his pants unzipped and is pressing the head of his cock against your entrance, lining himself up to ruin his pretty little fan. A lewd squelch fills the alley as he pushes into you, sheathing his cock entirely within you in one go. You let out a pathetic whimper at the mixture of pain and pleasure. The way he’s kissing your cervix already has you fluttering around him.
“Easy to please, aren’t you? It’s lucky for you that I am, too,” he smirks, punctuating his words with a soft thrust of his hips. He lifts one of your legs and wraps it around his waist.
“Y-you’re going to let me cum, right?”
“Of course, sweet girl. I want to feel it when I make your tight little cunt cream all over my cock,” he groans. He takes it slow for only a few more strokes, then looking down between your bodies, he sees the way your body’s being split open, punished almost for being in the wrong place at the right time, saying the right words to the wrong man. That? That is what drives self-professed upstanding hero, good citizen, all around nice guy Tenya Iida feral.
Seconds later, he’s pumping into you at a punishing speed. Your head thrown back, forgetting you’re in a dingy alley at sunset, forgetting the brick digging into the skin of your back, forgetting everything but his cock.
“I’m going to cum. I want you to cum with me. Understand?”
You nod, trembling from the stimulation and the situation. “Y-yeah, wanna cum, please, I wanna cum for you,” you whine. His dick twitches inside you. With your cheeks between his thumb and his fingers, he gives you one last command.
“Say my name. I want to hear you say my name when you break for me.”
You whimper, feeling your orgasm cresting as he speaks.
“I-in… Ingenium-!” you cry out as he bounces you into the wall. His orgasm follows immediately. He groans into your neck. As he pulls out, you feel his heavy load slide down your leg, staining the pavement with your deed. He tucks himself away, so easily composed despite the telltale signs in his flushed neck and his breathing still returning to normal. He pats your cheek lightly and smiles, the first smile you’ve seen reach his eyes in your brief time knowing him.
“Such a sweet girl for me. I’ll have to make sure I save you again sometime.”

mha boys jealous moments
w/ bakugo, deku, kirishima
warnings: slight season 3 spoilers, fem! reader
bakugo💥
bakugo rarely got jealous to be honest.
he was confident in your relationship and knew that you both loved each other more than you could express.
but there was something about the way that baldy, inasa yoarashi who used to go to shiketsu high school, talked to you so enthusiastically and made you laugh your ass off that had him fuming
it was the yearly meet up for the strange friend group, bakugo, todoroki, inasa, camie, and y/n.
the group that had to retake their license exam during high school, which resulted into a weird friendship that had the five meeting up every year to catch up.
the meet up itself was normal. at a fancy restaurant in a private area with an interesting conversation going on.
you were sitting between bakugo and inasa.
somehow, the conversation of first dates was brought up, and everyone was sharing the interesting stories of their first one.
todoroki explained how his first date was with momo, since everyone seemed to like them together. but it made him realize they had absolutely nothing in common
especially when it came to tea…
camie told everyone about how her first date was with some sleaze who only wanted her body for one night, which had you shaking your head is disgust.
anyways, the conversation resulted into you hearing about inasa’s first date, where he explained he was so nervous that his quirk went off involuntarily, blowing the food everywhere.
his enthusiastic story telling and the details he added had you laughing up a storm.
you were so engrossed in the story, that you hadn’t noticed your boyfriend staring at the man with an expression that could only be considered as pure acrimony
what the hell was so funny about what this baldy was saying?
“inasa that’s too crazy! i can’t believe that happened.” you breathed out, going to wipe some stray tears away from your eyes.
inasa looked at you with pure delight, pride filling his chest at the fact that he made you laugh so intensely.
you turned your head to look at bakugo who you hadn’t really been paying much attention to for most of the night.
right away you noticed his familiar grimace, that seemed way more irate than usual.
“what’s wrong kats?” you ask absentmindedly, taking a sip of your drink.
he just shook his head at you before looking at inasa. “that’s a pretty funny story baldy…” he mutters. “you know, my first date was with this beauty right here.” your boyfriend nudges you with a half smirk. “only girl i thought was capable enough to handle me.”
“i can see why. y/n’s quite fierce. i’d assumed she’d be able to put you in your place every now and then.” inasa shrugged, a competitive glint forming in his eyes.
“put me in my place?” bakugo scoffed. “please, a few dates after our first one, i already had her screaming under me. she could barely keep up.”
you gasp, turning to bakugo and slapping his hard bicep. “katsuki! why would you say that?”
he just chuckled, watching as inasa suddenly grew flustered and looked away. “just had to make sure that baldy knew who you’d be going home with tonight.” he kissed your cheek, and you turned away from him, pouting in embarrassment
deku 🥦
we know this precious boy had insecurities growing up, but as he got older they went away bit by bit
you played a big part in it. always reassuring him that he was perfect the way he is and he had nothing to be insecure about.
but being pro heroes and being in the public eye almost all the time did leave some room for those wondering thoughts and doubts to creep back up.
fortunately, izuku found new ways to handle those feelings. gave them head on with confidence like he did with most of his problems.
it was a cool night, and you and your boyfriend had just got done kicking some villain’s ass. of course, tons of reporters were surrounding you both.
“miss (hero name)! how would u describe the performance of both you and deku tonight!”
“was this particular villain hard to fight off? you seem a little more hazed than usual!”
you tired to answer every question as quick as possible, but one particular question you wish you didn’t hear had to stumped to the core.
“have you heard about the recent news of you being shipped with another pro-hero?” the reporter asked.
“wha…no.” you tried to respond, but the question just seemed to get other reporters more hyped.
“much of the public believe you should be with another pro-hero! one that matches your style more!”
“people are predicting the end of h/n and deku! what do you have to say about that?”
“um, no me and izu-ah deku are completely fine. i would never leave him!” you try to retaliate.
“but there are tons of other heroes who have their eyes on you h/n! it’d be stupid to not give them a chance!”
you scoffed at the reporter’s words, trying to go against what they were saying when you suddenly felt a hand wrap your waist and a big frame stand behind you.
“don’t you think if h/n and i weren’t perfect for each other, we’d have broken up already?” izuku comes into frame with a hard expression, his question leaving the reporters speechless.
“it’s been so many years, i don’t think we would continue to torture ourselves in an uncommitted relationship if we didn’t love each other, right h/n”
you nodded feverishly, letting izuku take over as he looked directly into the camera “oh, and to all the pro-heroes who have their eyes on my girlfriend, you better keep that fantasy in your head, cause this girl is all mine.”
he gave you an affection squeeze on the hips before pulling you away to the car.
you sighed out in relief and turned to him with a big smile. “thank you for helping me back there izu.” you smile, and peck his cheek.
“of course. anything for you but…you don’t actually think about being with other heroes? right?” you could basically see the sweat running down the side of his face.
“of course not! you’re my one and only deku.” you smile as he leans in, placing a loving kiss on your lips
kirishima 🪨
it’s really hard for kiri to get jealous
he just thinks everyone has positive motives and doesn’t like to assume the worst.
but when it’s really obvious someone is flirting with you, he’ll get involved quicker than he can harden.
you were out shopping with your red haired boyfie, and he had walked away for a bit to look at the men’s section.
it was only about five minutes when a weird looking man approached you, his aura already feeling off
“hey there sexy lady! saw you looking all pretty over here and i just had to talk to ya” he smiled crookedly, making you cringe.
“i’m flattered but, i have a boyfriend.” you try to smile, turning away and shuffling through clothes.
“well i don’t see him around.” the man says.
that’s always their response. isn’t it?
“he’s just over there in the men’s section. so i’d really appreciate it if you left me alone.”
“come on baby! there’s nothing wrong with having a little fun! i’m sure your boyfriend wouldn’t mind.”
god if this man says one more thing to me i swear i’ll-
“you thought wrong sir.” you hear kirishima say, his usual voice dropping a few octaves making the man in front of you clench up.
“i know she’s already told you she had a boyfriend. what will it take for you to leave her alone hm?”
“i’m sorry dude-“
“yeah you are. now get out of here of while you can still walk.” kiri said, making the man skedaddle.
after he was out of sight, your boyfriend put a hand on his chest and let out a breath. “jeez that was scary babe!”
“eijiro, you’re a pro hero who fights scary villains all the time.”
“yeah! but the thought of someone stealing my baby away is my biggest fear!” he yells.
you laugh “good thing that’ll never happen babe.”
posted 7/1/21
really sorry about kiri’s being a little shorter. anyways hope you guys liked this. i’ll be answering requests tomorrow. it’s about 3:30 AM where i am rn so i’ll get some sleep and work on them right away. hope you liked this. leave a request here -> 🥀

Pressure Points (My Hero Academia)
Primary Universe
Happy New Year’s Eve! WE MADE IT THROUGH 2020 EVERYONE!! :D
I have officially caught up on the MHA anime (movies included!) and I am so desperately in love with this show and these characters, I can’t even explain to you how amazing discovering this new fandom has been. I’m PSYCHED for season five in just a few months! In honor of what is definitely the best anime I’ve seen this year - and to celebrate surviving the year of the devil 2020 - I thought it fitting to wrap it all up with yet another MHA tickle fic! (For the record, I counted, and this fic makes the 45th one I’ve posted on this blog in 2020. That’s a crazy number! Haha!) I hope you enjoy, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
~
“Give me your foot.”
The words were so unexpected that for a moment Bakugou just stared at Todoroki, whose eyes were still trained on his textbook.
“What?”
“Give me your foot,” Todoroki repeated, glancing at him. “I need to practice these pressure points.”
“Like heck you do,” Bakugou growled. “Practice on your own dang foot.”
“It’s too difficult to get the right angle on my own.”
“Right angle? What are you talking about?”
Todoroki sighed. “What’s the problem? You have to learn them, too.”
“I am not giving you my foot.”
“Bakugou.” Todoroki tilted his head, watching him with that ever-cool, nonchalant expression. “We’re really behind the others. We’re the only ones who didn’t get our provisional licenses. The only way we won’t fall further behind is to stay on top of the game academically. So again I say: give me your foot. I need to practice.”
Bakugou knew Todoroki was right, and he hated that the half-and-half hero always had to bring it up. But still he growled and trained his eyes back on his own work. “And again I say: like heck you do.”
“Why are you being so stubborn about this?”
“I’m not. I just don’t want you…” Bakugou trailed off, shaking his head. “I just don’t want to.”
“Don’t want me to what? Are you afraid I’ll tickle you?”
Bakugou glared at Todoroki. “I’m not afraid of anything, idiot.”
“Then give me your foot, hothead.” Todoroki smirked. “I promise I’m just practicing pressure points. Nothing more.”
The blonde grumbled, but finally did as he was told and propped his foot up on the couch cushion between them. “Hmph. Hothead. You’re one to talk, Icy-Hot.”
For a solid few minutes Todoroki did exactly what he said he would and only focused on pressure points, gently massaging and kneading into Bakugou’s foot, watching silently as the explosive teen reluctantly relaxed and even sighed once or twice. When he was finally off his guard, Todoroki paused for a moment to scan his textbook, as if searching for something.
Bakugou had returned his own focus to the work he’d been doing, having gotten to the point where it no longer bothered him to have someone touching him in such a vulnerable area. In the next moment, however, he jolted sharply, nearly dropping his workbook from his lap as he tried – and failed – to pull his foot away from Todoroki. “Hey! Back off!”
“I’m not done yet,” the other replied in an even tone, betraying nothing. “I still have a couple more.” Again he swiped a finger from Bakugou’s heel to his toes, and again the blonde jolted.
“Agh! You said you were just doing pressure points,” Bakugou growled, trying to free himself from his classmate’s surprisingly strong grasp.
“I am.” Todoroki lifted his gaze from his textbook, eyes and features as serious as before. “Now I’m testing how much pressure is needed to actually relieve pain rather than…tickle.” He swiped again.
“That’s bullcrap and you know it!” Bakugou shouted, letting his book fall to the floor as he fought against the half-and-half hero. “Let go of me now, or I swear I’ll—”
“You’ll what?” Todoroki asked calmly, scribbling all five fingers into Bakugou’s sole.
“Hrk—hehehey! Stahahahahahahap!” The giggles spilled out of him before he could stop them, his face flushing a deep red within seconds. He tried to tug his foot away but there was no point. Todoroki’s grip was firm; vicelike, even. “Stop! Icy-Hohohohohohohot!”
Todoroki reached down while Bakugou was weakened and distracted to grab his other foot and pull them both closer. Then he swung his own legs over his ankles so the blonde’s feet were pinned down and scribbled his fingers along both soles.
Bakugou shrieked, hating himself for it. He quickly covered his mouth with both hands, writhing on the couch, trying to conceal his growing mirth. “St-Stop, Tohohohohodoroki—stop it, I d-don’t—ahahahahahaha!”
“You don’t what?”
“I don’t like it!” Bakugou yelled, trying desperately to pull his feet from Todoroki’s trap. “Gah! Stahahahahahahap it alreadyhehehehehe!”
Instead, Todoroki dug his fingers into Bakugou’s toes.
“AHAHAHAHAHAHAGH NOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!” Bakugou cried, tossing his head back with laughter that he couldn’t stop no matter how hard he tried to. His writhing became thrashing and he pounded the couch cushions. “FRICKING—STAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAP!!”
“Interesting,” Todoroki mused, the smallest of grins beginning to tug at his lips. “I applied more pressure, yet this still seems to tickle.”
“CUT IT OUT WIHIHIHIHIHIHITH THAT CRAHAHAHAHAHAHAP!! THIHIHIHIHIS ISN’T FOR SCIEHEHEHEHEHENCE ANYMORE!!” Bakugou howled with laughter, trying to twist out of Todoroki’s grip so hard he ended up toppling off the couch, landing awkwardly on his side with his feet still trapped and tickled. “YOU’RE JUST MOHOHOHOHOHOCKING ME NOHOHOHOW!! QUIHIHIHIHIHIHIT IT!!”
“Mocking you?” Todoroki quirked a brow. “At what point did I ever imply that I think less of you for this? Tell me one thing I’ve said or done to give you that indication.”
Bakugou knew he was blushing furiously, but he couldn’t help it. This was humiliating, being stuck helplessly like this, unable to control the shrieks of laughter that burst from his lungs from the sensations Todoroki was creating. He pounded on the couch desperately, unable to do much else.
“Can’t think of anything?” Todoroki shrugged. “That’s because I’m not mocking you. I’m just helping you lighten up.”
“GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! TH-THAHAHAHAHAHAT’S WHAT THEHEHEHEHEHE OTHERS SAID TOO, DAHAHAHAHAHANG IT!!”
“Others?” Now Todoroki was smiling fully. “I’m not the first to tickle you?”
“SHUT UP!!” Bakugou wanted to remain defiant and angry, but the longer this went on the more he just wanted to get out of it. He started pounding the floor. “STAHAHAHAHAHAHAP!! WHAHAHAHAHAHAT DO I HAHAHAHAHVE TO DO TO GEHEHEHEHEHET YOU TO KNOHOHOHOHOCK IT OFF?!”
Todoroki finally stopped, lifting his legs so Bakugou could free himself and curl into a ball on the floor, gasping for breath. When he’d recovered somewhat, he pushed himself up into a seated position and glanced at the half-and-half hero, who was watching him silently, a small smile on his face.
“Wh-Why’d you stop?” he asked.
Todoroki’s brows shot up. “You wanted more?”
“No!” Bakugou didn’t mean for it to come out as a panicked cry, but it did, and he blushed even harder. “Of course not, idiot! Just…what were you trying to do? Why humiliate me like that? Just for fun? To prove something?”
“No.” Todoroki shrugged. “When you asked what you had to do to make me stop, that’s when I knew you really needed me to. You never beg.”
“I wasn’t begging!”
“No, and I didn’t want you to.”
Bakugou frowned, climbing back up to his seat on the couch. “You’re not making any sense, Icy-Hot.”
“I wanted you to lighten up.” Todoroki looked at him. “You and I are alike in many ways. We both take things seriously. We do our best to make it to the top. But sometimes in the process we forget we’re just people. We need to relax and take breaks just like anyone else.”
“Tch.” Bakugou reached for his fallen textbook, straightening out some of the crumpled pages. “Maybe you do. I’m fine on my own, idiot.”
“My intention truly was just to help you relax with the pressure points,” Todoroki admitted, glancing at the open page that detailed where said points were. “But then I thought about Midoriya, and how he always seems happier after he’s tickled, and I wanted to help you that way, too.” He averted his eyes. “I’m sorry if I went too far.”
Bakugou stared at his classmate, unsure what to say for a moment. He didn’t enjoy being tickled, but he’d be lying if he said he didn’t feel a bit lighter after what had just happened. He growled out a sigh. “I’m nothing like Deku, Icy-Hot. Get that through your head before you try something like that again.” He glared at Todoroki. “And do not breathe a word of this to anyone, you hear me? Not a word!”
Todoroki smiled softly. “Not a word,” he agreed, before adding, “But wait – who else has tickled you, Bakugou?”
Bakugou pulled his textbook up to his face and groaned.

I really knew Season 5 was in trouble when I saw this one. I mean, to be fair there wasn’t much to work with in this arc. It’s so laid back and there’s not a lot of drama, so of course it’s a little underwhelming. Still tho. Could’ve been more stylish.
#8. Season 2 OP2 “Sora Ni Utaeba”
Tumblr media
There’s nothing really wrong with SNU per se, it’s just a little basic to me. A little disjoined probably because it’s adapting two really really different arcs.
#7. Season 5 OP2 “Merry Go Round”
Tumblr media
This one is growing on me, tho I still carry resentment for it having so little League of Villains stuff. Those artsy shots of the Big 3 really put it up a few notches. It’s nice to look at, it’s just not the right OP for this arc.
#6. Season 3 OP2 “Make my Story
Tumblr media
This one has some subtly brilliant symbolism, like Shoto and Kacchan looking away from the camera. It’s low for me mostly for aesthetic reasons. Tho that shot of Deku and Kacchan casting shadows is one of the best in all the OPS
#5. Season 4 OP1 “Polaris”
Tumblr media
This one used to be higher up, but the more I see it the more basic and bare bones it seems to me. It’s pretty much just a plot summary of the Internship arc, which isn’t one of my faves. Still, it’s gorgeous and the song gives me chills.
#4. Season 1 OP “The Day”
Tumblr media
The first and still one of the best! My emotions get all tripped up by those shots of Deku on the bridge. And those Deku and Kacchan shots are still emotional, even years of hand holding and collapsed-hugs and apologies later.
#3. Season 2 OP 1 “Peace Sign”
Tumblr media
The top 3 are a tight one. Peace Sign is a little lower because it’s a little simpler, but it still stands as the most...MHA of all the MHA openings. The most pumped up. It’s the Sports Fest arc, it’s the one that made this show.
#2. Season 4 OP1 “Star Marker”
Tumblr media
Ooh, I was so tempted to make this one #1. It’s so feel-good. But it’s not quite the top MHA op. Still, it’s amazing to look at and only gets better, more ynamic, exciting and gorgeous, every time.
#1. Season 3 OP1 “Odd Future”
Tumblr media
I kinda suspect this one won’t be topped. I’m rewatching the Hideout raid arc right now actually, and I can’t help but get chills every single time this one starts. I KEEP MY IDEALS ZORE ZORE....”
THE EDS:
#9. Season 3 ED 2 Long Hope Philia
Tumblr media
LOL definitely the most boring ED of the bunch. But it’s not that there’s anything wrong with it, it’s just really basic and not super energetic, with no really memorable shots per se.
#8. Season 2 ED 1 Dakara Hitori Ja Nai
Tumblr media
Again, don’t dislike this one or anything. It’s just kinda there. It has more of a gimmick than Long Hope Philia tho, being about the ladies, so it gets a small boost.
#7. Season 5 ED 1 Footprints
Tumblr media
The third one that’s mostly kinda boring and a little too basic. But it’s a little prettier than the first two and carries some nice peaceful Class A feels, so I’m ranking it a little higher.
#6. Season 3 ED 1 Update
Tumblr media
This one sorta ended up the highest of the “basic and boring” EDs for me, possibly just because of the Arc it’s attached to, possibly because it just tells more of a vignette series than the other three.
#5. Season 5 ED 2 Uso Janai
Tumblr media
This one carries the feels for this current arc, and has some nice Hawks, Trinity, and LoV imagery. Still, it doesn’t have a narrative like the top 4, so I’m placing it down here.
#4. Season 4 ED 1 About a Voyage
Tumblr media
Eri’s story. Beautifully told, emotional, and brilliantly put together. They really did not half-ass this one.
#3. Season 1 ED HEROES
Tumblr media
About a Voyaage and HEROES are both about a character journey narrative, but HEROES is Deku’s, and he’s our MC (even though I still have PTSD from the last year’s goddamn manga arc) so his one ranks a little higher for me.
#2. Season 2 ED 2 Datte atashi no Hero
Tumblr media
The beautiful Fantasy AU ED! Yes, it’s amazing and wonderful and we all love it. It has amazing BKDK vibes. But I think I ranked them before and stated that it’s the perfect ED for the Fantasy aU - but not for HeroAca. That distinction goes ti...
#1. Season 4 ED 2 Shout Baby
Tumblr media
This one reduces me to tears sometimes. The music, the imagery (throughout the whole thing, not just the last few minutes), the meaning behind each shot...it’s an ED as well put together as an OP.

Mariemaia hoists herself out. Her feet slip on the smooth floor and gooseflesh erupts on her arms and back. She climbs onto the block and wiggles her feet against the gritty texture. A couple deep breaths, back arched, legs bent, and toes dug in. Her eyes narrow as she moves her arms into position. “One-”
“Go.” His voice startles her and she does a half jump, landing in the water in an undignified mess. She resurfaces and he gestures for her to resume her position. “Lady Une says you’re on the swim team, you shouldn’t be scared to jump in. Go when I say go.”
“I go when I want to go,” she growls. She isn’t sure how she feels about Lady Une telling others about her activities. Especially him. She resumes position though.
“Not if you want to win.” Her shoulders stiffen. “Loosen up. Go.”
All Mariemaia wants is to be left alone while she practices her swimming and tries to survive the school year. She doesn’t know why she’s surprised that doesn’t happen - it’s not like the universe has been on her side in the past. Especially when it comes to meddlesome Gundam pilots.

His first knock was met by the door opening immediately. Five looked... well, honestly, Treize would have jumped that in a heartbeat, money or no money. He was shorter than Treize by a few inches, hair rumpled, pillow lines on his face. "He's definitely going to kill me," Five sighed, and moved to allow Treize to step into the room.
Treize waited until he closed the door, and then closed the space between them, setting hands curiously at Five's waist to see how immediately receptive he was. His pajamas matched, soft silk, worn a little and softened in a way that told him it wasn't an affectation. "He won't have to know. Hello."

Rolling over hurt. Wufei gave a grunt of sound, body aching even as he forced his eyes open to a ceiling that he didn't recognize. It was white with no embellishments, no gold flake, nothing, and adrenaline hit his bloodstream, forcing him up more quickly than was good for him.
He didn't know where he was. The windows were tall and arched, the walls were a soft blue, and the floor looked to be wood, natural and well-waxed. A chair pulled up to the side of the bed, a pillow and a blanket piled into it, and he could distantly hear classical music.
Wufei wasn't in his room, and he wasn't in any room in the brothel. Wufei wasn't even sure as to precisely when he should start panicking, but the best answer seemed to be any second now.

OC Master List
Obviously if you’ve followed me for any length of time you will know that I have a really nasty habit of making characters of my own design. I love to be creative and make my own realities through this medium. It’s actually one of my favorite things to do. I’ve wanted to make this for a while because my friends sometimes get confused as to which OC that I’m talking about so this is the master list for everybody.
My Hero Academia: If I have any fandom where most of my OCs go it’s into the MHA fandom. I have currently five OCs in this show so let’s talk about them one by one.
Mitsuki Haruka: My first OC that I truly ever created and invented with the knowledge of doing it. Mitsu has a really special place in my heart because she was the first and the one that I work for the most in this fandom usually. Her comfort character is Katara from Avatar The Last Airbender. Her quirk is water. She can pretty much do anything with water. She can heat it, freeze it, glide around on it, whip it out of her and use something that I stole from Fairy Tail called waterlock where she locks a person inside of a body of water. Her canon partner is Tenya Iida my favorite square boi. I often talk about her with her adopted brother and my amazing friend @bio-hazard0us OC Kaku.
Violet Katsuragi: Violet is one that I don’t really talk about in great detail a whole lot because every time I try to I cry. Her family is a massive shit show and I always feel so bad for making it that way.  I’m always like “My poor baby who is making you suffer so much-oh yeah it’s me sorry about that babe.” She is my “villain” OC. She is really only a member of the league so that she can stay close with her boyfriend and love of her life Twice (Jin). Her quirk is that she can control the plant tattoos that are on her arms by summoning them and using them in combat. Her comfort character is Mary Poppins because it reminds her of her older brother. Violet is an actress for a local community theater once the league disbands quietly. She and Jin also adopt Toga (a younger member of the villain league) as their own daughter to give her a second chance at life. I love her even though she’s the saddest backstory one that I have to work with it’s also the most fulfilling when I write fluff for her.
Shizuko Kanade: Another absolute baby with a crappy home life. I’m sorry that I made it that way hun but it gets better for you I promise. Shizuko is my quirkless OC and my genius tech girl. She lives below her best friend and brother in arms Denki Kaminari and they’ve been best friends since they moved into the same building together. Her comfort character is PJ from the Goof franchise especially from Goof Troop that was her favorite show to watch with her aunt when she was growing up. She starts off really chubby, the cute kind of chubby but starts drastically dropping pounds in order for her parents to love and accept her. When they still don’t Denki has enough and talks to his mom and they decide to call the police and foster Shizuko into their own home. They get a restraining order against her biological family and my best girl gets a happy home. She wants to be the first quirkless hero to rely completely on support items. (She is also partnered with Shoji if anybody is curious.)
Arashi Mitsuha: This absolute baby, I love them. Ari is my gender fluid OC that I made who started off as just your everyday cis male but then I had an idea that spiraled from Ari in eyeliner to Ari in a skirt and then we wound up with the gender fluid absolute icon that they are today. Ari has a weather quirk. Basically anything involving weather they can do it with their eyes closed. Thunder and lightning storms, tsunamis, tornados but also snow and sunshine. They’re really OP and hella versatile it makes it more fun to write their fighting style. I paired them up with Denki in your stereotypical meet-cute scenario. In terms of backstory they just had a really bad ex-boyfriend before Denki came into their life like a literal speeding bullet. Their comfort character is Hedwig from Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Litzy Diaz: My last and FINAL MHA OC I promise you. Litzy is from a small town in Mexico and transferred to UA giving herself a second chance to start anew with her new friends and away from her toxic parents. She is fostered by Aizawa and Present Mic who have already adopted Shinsou so they are brother and sister in every way but blood. Her quirk was very heavily inspired by my love of Dr Facilier in Princess And The Frog. She can control shadows, shadow travel through things such as walls and she can control her friends on the other side basically demons from the underworld. Present Mic sees her as his long lost daughter and basically worships the ground that she walks on. He loves her more than anything in the entire world. Her comfort character is Miguel from Coco and La Muerte from Book Of Life. Her canon partner is Juso from Class B.
DuckTales: I only have one DuckTales OC (thank the Gods) but she’s very special and important to me. I love the reboot of this show even if I’m way the hell behind on it (I promise I’ll catch up after Gravity Falls Donuts!!).
Sabrina Duck: Sabrina is a sister for Huey, Dewey and Louie!! She shares the title of oldest quadruplet by thirty seconds and often took over the motherly role for her siblings when their mom wasn’t there. She was always reminding them to do their homework, regulated who got TV time and who was in charge of the delegated family movie night. This resulted in a rift between her and her brother Dewey that only got bigger overtime. School was really hard for her to deal with. She was never the best at paying attention during her classes and had a really bad sensory overload one day. She was really close with her uncle Ludwig though and he offered to teach her. They have a really special bond between the two of them that I love writing for. Sabrina was the person that grounded Ludwig to not think up as many crazy inventions. She also knits!! She loves knitting sweaters for her friends and family around the holidays. I am partnering her up with Gosalyn eventually.
Star Vs The Forces Of Evil: To be perfectly honest with you guys, I have not seen the entire show. It’s really hard for me to get into it. Because when you only really love one character in the entire thing it gets harder to keep coming back for more. Especially because in the first two seasons you don’t get a whole lot of him and I’m stuck on season 2.
Allania (Nia) Alvez: I feel like out of all my OCs I am the most like Nia. She’s a half elf-half mortal princess that isn’t allowed to live with the elves so they sent her to live with her mortal father. Her dad’s run a bakery in town and she works there as an assistant baker when she isn’t preparing for her next drag show. She grew up in this family full of love and acceptance and grew excited about one day having a relationship just like her parents. Her first brush with love left her broken by the side of the road even though no relationship came of it. A lot of my feelings for my ex-best friend went into Nia’s personality. However, there is a bright side! Of course with every one of my fics so far there is a bright side that comes in the form of my favorite character Tom who gives her the love that she deserves.
Animaniacs: Of course this is me we’re talking about so there has to be an Animaniacs OC on this list! This is actually the first character that I ever made on my own free will! She has changed a lot throughout the years that I’ve had her mostly because my tastes have changed.
Elizabeth Martin: Lizzy is a member of the scene crowd, I was inspired by my best friend and what she wears every day. For the modern au that I have her in her and Yakko are dance partners in a musical theater style school. For the regular fic she’s cast as his love interest. I love this girl so much. To me she is everything that I want to be even now. Her strength and confidence to get through every situation, even the ones that she is afraid to deal with speaks volumes to how I want to be one day. One of the few things that we have in common is that we both did martial arts! She stuck with it for longer than me though and is currently a green belt in kempo karate. Her favorite musical is Fun Home because it’s the one that she relates to the most through the eyes of the mother Helen Beckdal. Her parents basically had three other kids and went here take care of these it’s your job. Every time I listen to Days and Days I think of how much she had to go through just to make sure that everything was going according to plan.
Looney Toons: Who doesn’t love Looney Toons?! We all have our personal favorite characters, mine has always been the schemer Daffy Duck. I thought that he was a combination of the funniest and had the most personality other than Bugs. I love his antics and get rich quick schemes and I thought to myself one day “How cute would it be if he had an adorable little niece who loved space?!”
Daniella Duck: This began the creation of one of the best ideas that I personally think that I have ever had. So Daniella is the only one out of all my OCs that does not have aspergers. Instead I looked at Daffy’s elongated tongue and was like “Hm something inside of me thinks that she would have down-syndrome...” At first she was just going to have a little bit of her uncle’s speech impediment but this is what happens when I get ideas when I’m working out. Daniella lives with her uncle on the warner movie lot in the show fic. I love writing for her and her uncle’s relationship because it’s soft Daffy (it’s very similar to writing for soft Grunkle Stan and I LOVE BOTH). Daniella also has an uncle figure in Bugs and Porky of course. I gave her canon partner to Wakko because I just thought that they would be SO cute together. He helps her work on her self confidence and working her way around her speech impediment. In the modern au that I have she has a brother Ding Dong (@oo-fabooo02 OC). She goes to school with Wakko, loves Ed, Ed N Eddy, helps her uncle on his podcast because Daffy is a comedian in this au and she helps him write his script for the episodes. She loves space in both aus but in the modern au she actually is able to become an astronaut!
Teen Titans\Promare: I have the same OC for both Teen Titans and for Promare but she’s more for Promare right now. What started off as just a happy au that she could have with her comfort character from the TT fic sort of spiraled into this whole other au.
Keiko Katsuragi\Fotia in the Promare au: Keiko is a really special OC in my heart. She’s adorable, fun loving, sweet and just an all around amazing girl. In the Teen Titans au she’s a lot more damaged emotionally. Her father gave her powers through a serum that she didn’t even really want (she thought that he was joking) and it caused her house to burn down. When she left Japan she was homeless until the Teen Titans found her. Keiko is a member of the decora community and loves cutesy, girly things (especially Pokémon, Sanrio characters, Spongebob, Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears). Her collection of stuffed animals is immense and intimidating. Her canon partner is Beast Boy. I’ve had Keiko since I was six and only just started to refine her and make her into an official OC. Promare au Keiko still has BB as her partner but I made him into a fire fighter for this au to work. She started off in a poly relationship with Meis and Gueira but I changed my mind. Writing the Promare au gave me the chance to make a happy unscarred Keiko. Her comfort character in this au is Dot.
Princess And The Frog: If you forced me to pick a favorite Disney movie this one would be one of the two answers that I gave to you. I have a very big soft spot for this movie in particular. It is one that changed my life when I sat there as a young child and watched the movie unfold in front of my very eyes. Every time I rewatch this movie I am reminded of how much of my childhood I spent loving hand drawn Disney animation.
Rhiannon (Rae): Rae is the daughter of Tiana and Naveen. I named her after Raymond the firefly. If you knew what a big comfort character my favorite cajun firefly is for me and my mom then her name will come as no surprise. She is the baker and pastry chef for Tiana’s Palace. Rae is a multi musically talented young girl she plays the ukulele, trumpet and accordion. When I first started writing for her I knew that I wanted her to be bisexual. So I turned to one of my favorite animation fun facts that I know. When Jim Cummings was first auditioning for Raymond they had him sing a song. This song that he sang is by Leon Russel and it’s called Cajun Love Song. It is also the song that he sings when he is untying Tiana and Naveen’s tongues. The song is about a girl named Alice. And part of my brain that makes these connections went perfect! That’ll be the name of her girlfriend. Rae is mostly a daddy’s girl. The relationship between her and Naveen was really what helped me refine her personality. Her comfort character is Rabbit from Winnie The Pooh. She is a gardener in her free time and that’s where she gets a majority of her fresh fruits and vegetables for her pastries and desserts. She isn’t really the best at being a princess. In fact she hates when she has to go and visit Maldonia. She doesn’t feel at home there and they won’t let her cook or bake anything at all because it’s not seen as ladylike. This is when she mostly feels like something is wrong with her. Why can’t she just do this one seemingly simple thing for her dad? When he does so much for her why can’t she do this? She learns that even though she isn’t perfect she is so very much loved that it’s ridiculous. Her family loves her so much and they’re willing to move hell or high water for her to be comfortable.
Gravity Falls: My most recent obsession (I did not have cable when the original show was being released please don’t kill me). I have recently been binging this show on Disney+ and have just started the second season. I hope to be done with it within the next week or so because I love it so much. My favorite character so far is definitely Grunkle Stan. I love his growth and development from a power hungry greedy old man to somebody that clearly loves the kids that are put under his care. Watching his adorable relationship with mother and the father son relationship with Dipper is something that is really close to my heart.
Twilight Pines: My most recent OC!! Twilight is the older sister of Mabel and Dipper and has been visiting Grunkle Stan for years prior to the start of the show. She’s used to his money scheming antics by now but she still loves her favorite Grunkle. Growing up, Twilight had a nervous stutter. She was shy, nervous a lot, socially awkward and was never really the best at dealing with other people. This made her comfort character Piglet from Winnie The Pooh. Her stutter is still there but it’s gotten a lot better!! She spent the year before the show starts at drama camp trying to get over her stutter. While it’s not gone completely it was a lot of progress. She has a really strong relationship with her caretaker for the summer because of the years that she’s spent with him in the past. Up until Mabel went with her for the summer she thought that she would be the only niece in his heart. See, after Mabel was born she took up a lot of the attention. Everyone wanted to look at the cute one instead of the nervous one. It’s just the way that life is. But during the summer she got to spend it being the favorite relative of somebody. When she notices how close Mabel and Stan are getting that’s when she knows that it’s over. She was naive to ever think that somebody would pick her as the favorite. Not when Mabel existed alongside her. It’s not that she doesn’t love Mabel because she clearly does. It’s just that well sometimes she wants to be loved and appreciated by her parents instead of constantly being sidelined. That’s why her summers with her Grunkle were so important to her. It was just three months out of the year. But for those three months working at the Mystery Shack and having all kinds of chaotic fun were the highlight of her year. She has to learn that she has her own values too. One’s that while don’t oversell her sister are still her’s and they are still beautiful. She learns that her parents love and care about her just as much as her sister. It’s just hard to be a show stealer in this house let’s be honest. Twilight is a pansexual and her canon partner is Wendy.

“Five Stages of Grief” - Kaoruko Awata x Reader
Oh boy, here I go, posting a Patreon (mistheartist) fic of mine.
I put a lot more angst on my Patreon and don’t worry, I am working on fics for here. This particular fic was on the $1 tier, as are almost all of my MHA fics.
WARNING: SPOILERS FOR SEASON FOUR OF MY HERO ACADEMIA
(Kaoruko Awata is the real name of Sir Nighteye’s sidekick, Bubble Girl)
Tumblr media
“Kaoruko, it’s not your fault that he’s gone. There was nothing you could have done, you weren’t even near him when he died. Besides, he was up against an enemy that almost killed everyone around him, he wouldn’t want you to be sad. Didn’t he always want the people around him to be full of joy and laughter?”
Kaoruko buried her face into your shoulder, sobbing uncontrollably. You managed to pick her up after the hospital where she had seen Nighteye pass away, and you had carried her inside of your house while she was being hysterical. You managed to get her into a large sweater and out of her hero costume, with her hero costume being in the wash. You were making hot chocolate in the kitchen, holding her close as she sobbed into your chest. She hugged herself tightly, mumbling words to herself that you weren’t able to understand. You wanted to support your best friend and give her the attention and care that she needed, but you had no understanding of what she had gone through. You knew she was suffering, but her life since she became a hero was surrounded by Nighteye. Nighteye was the person who gave her purpose, and she had just watched him die.
“He’s not dead. He can’t be dead. I don’t believe that he’s dead, I don’t believe it, I can’t believe it. He was in the prime of his life, he had everything going for him, he isn’t dead. Maybe they can bring him back?” She looked up at you, her eyes shining with tears, her bottom lip quivering. She looked like she was begging you for you to bring Nighteye back, begging for anything that could bring her boss back to life.
You left her to cry on the couch, wrapping her in a throw blanket and going to the kitchen. You poured the hot chocolate into a mug, humming gently to yourself. Kaoruko was grieving the loss of someone she cared about more than anything, the person who led her way through the world of heroes after she left the arms of UA. Nighteye was important to her, so you understood her grief, but even then you could barely understand just how much she was going through.
You made your way back to her with the hot chocolate, grabbing some cookies from the pantry and sitting next to her, giving her the items in your hands. “Kaoruko, sweetie, Bubbles, you can’t bring him back. You’re so strong and so good at what you do, I’m sure that you can get through this.”
Kaoruko took the hot chocolate and cookies, tears running down her cheeks once again. She took gentle sips of the hot chocolate, her hands shaking violently. She continued to sob to herself, mumbling incoherent words, before she threw the mug at the wall and screamed into the couch.
You grabbed onto her, holding her tightly as she screamed into your chest, punching the couch with all of her strength. She wailed into your shirt, her tears soaking through, as you ran your fingers through her hair. You tried to whisper gentle things into her ear, but they were all being drowned out by her crying. You kissed the side of her head, scratching her head gently and humming gentle lullabies into her ear. She screamed more, sometimes cursing out at the air or begging for Nighteye’s life to be traded with hers. Kaoruko dug her nails into your shoulders, sobbing more, begging for any chance she could have to see her mentor once again. You knew you wouldn’t be able to get through to her, so you sat there, powerless to make your close friend feel any better about her loss.
“Bubbles, he’s in a better place now. I’m sure that he is laughing with the funniest comedians that are up with him-”
“But you don’t understand! He shouldn’t be up there right now, he should be down here, with us, where things are warm and where he can see the result of his good work, where he can see that Mirio is okay and he can see that the raid he planned was a success, that we got the girl out safe, that everything is okay! He should be here to see that! He isn’t and I want him back, I want him home, I want to go into work and have to make a joke as I give a daily report, I need him back.”
You listened to her talk, running your fingers over her knuckles.
“I would give anything to see that happen. Even if I had to trade my own life for his, if I had to die, maybe he could be brought back. Please, just bring him back!”
“I’m sorry, Bubbles, that can’t happen.”
She collapsed onto the couch, trembling and sniffling from tears that never rolled down her cheeks. She shook her head, hugging herself tightly. “Then what’s the point? Why keep being a hero if I don’t have him beside me? He taught me everything that I know, there’s no way that I can do this without him.”
“If there’s anything that I know about Nighteye, it’s that he wouldn’t want you crying like this. Look at the good side, Bubbles, he would want you to be happy that there was only one death in this entire raid. You were up against a villain that was worse than anyone the heroes had faced before, and made it out almost completely okay. He would want you to continue being a hero who laughed and smiled and made others feel better, even when it was hard. And you don’t have to be happy right now for me, let your tears go. He would want that for you as well. But he would want you to continue your dreams and when you feel better again, to continue what he had. He left the Agency to Centipeder, and I’m sure that he will do an amazing job. You both will.”
She covered her face, whimpering gently to herself. You sat in silence for what seemed like forever, the only thing breaking that silence being her gentle sniffles from behind the fluffy sweater that she wore. Without moving her hands, she slowly laid her head on your shoulder, making a pained effort to calm her breathing. You wrapped an arm around her shoulders, squeezing gently to reassure her. You looked away from her, giving her emotional space while also giving her the physical affection that she desired.
“Buddy?” she whimpered, muffled from the sweater. It had been a while since either of you had spoken, and the sun had gone down.
“Yes, Bubbles?”
“Do you really think that he’s doing okay up there?”
“Of course, Bubbles.”
“I’m sleepy.” She curled into a ball, burying her face into your shoulder even more. You wrapped the blanket around her shoulders once more, kissing her forehead. You watched her as she drifted off to sleep, her body calming down. She looked calm in her slumber, the look of peace making you smile. She had a rough day, and the next few days were going to be endless cycles of her going through her grief, but you knew she would make it out okay. You had faith in her, and she had you to help her along.
You picked her up, making sure the blanket was wrapped tight around her. You kissed her forehead gently, carrying her to your room. You tucked her into bed, making sure her head was gently on the pillow. You walked out of the room as quietly as you could, going to clean up the (now cold) hot chocolate and the shards from the mug, getting a glass of water. You brought it back to the room, setting it on the bedside table, slowly making your way back out.
“Buddy?” Her voice was small, weak, trembling as if she were about to cry again.
“Yeah?”
“Can you stay here?”
You smiled gently, turning around and getting back underneath the blanket. You kissed her forehead gently, watching as she laid on your chest, drifting back to sleep.
You definitely knew she would be okay.

FEATURE: The Top 10 Fight Scenes of 2020 According to YOU!
Tumblr media
One of the defining features of anime as a medium are the fight scenes. From their diversity of visuals and dramatic staging to their use in narrative development to the off-the-wall powers and techniques their characters employ. Watching weightless CG battles in superhero flicks, it’s hard not to feel like Hollywood is decades behind. Let’s fix that by letting YOU decide who gets some accolades.
If you’ve read this article’s companion pieces on 2020’s OPs and EDs you know the drill. What follows is a list of the Top 10 fight scenes of 2020 as determined by viewership on the Crunchyroll Collection YouTube channel, weighted at 30 days so anime from earlier in the year don’t get an advantage and to balance flash-in-the-pan popularity vs iconic moments that will continue on in the fandom’s consciousness. It’s not a perfect metric but I’ve gotta say, the results do show some great taste ...
  10. Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? - Ais vs Asterius
youtube
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? has always been measured with its action, honing its greatest moments into dramatic peaks, so it was great we were able to finish 2020 with not only some of its biggest battles, but Ais finally stepping on the gas for the first time on television since 2017 by battling the legendary minotaur Asterius. Ais didn’t disappoint, as she shouldn’t with her place at the very top of the adventuring world and an unreachable ideal Bell aspires to. Also, opening the fight by shearing off her opponent’s arm may be the most brutal kickoff to a Danmachi fight we’ve seen yet. This battle topped 500k in its first 30 days and I’m confident will make a lasting impression.
  9. Tsugumomo2 - Kazuya vs Kyouka
youtube
Tsugumomo’s second season delivered some absolutely huge battles, but I gotta say I’m surprised the top fight wasn’t Kanaka terrorizing the entire cast of the series with their hunt for blood. That said, Kazuya’s battle against Kyouka had some spectacular effects, a few creative obi adaptations, a divine possession, and a shorted punch to secure the victory so it had all the primary features that make Tsugumomo fights great … And for fans of the series, yes it also had that … This fight drew 600k views in its first 30 days to secure its spot on the list.
  8. A Certain Scientific Railgun T - Level 6 Mikasa vs Touma and Sogiita
youtube
A Certain Magical Index and its various spinoffs have a penchant for going completely off the rails very quickly. This fight in spinoff A Certain Scientific Railgun T is every bit as absurd. Mikasa is pushed into Level 6, giving her godlike power and sending her into a berserk state that only Touma’s magic destroying hand can take down. We also get a guest appearance from one of the series' best side characters in Sogiita whose ability to literally turn guts into power is impossible not to love.
Basically, the fight was amazing, Mikasa’s Level 6 form and its absurd power were wonderfully adapted by JC Staff and Touma and Sogiita showed off some amazing combo attacks to prevents the destruction of the city. In particular, Sogiita’s “Super Amazing” punch and princess carrying Touma drew 700k viewers in its first 30 days.
  7. Golden Kamuy - The Stenka
youtube
The most common phrase I hear from Golden Kamuy fans is that the series is underappreciated and, as a Golden Kamuy fan, I’m inclined to agree. This series is so violent, I’m constantly surprised by what it gets away with. I’m hard-pressed to think of another series that has aired in the past five years with the same level of brutality. Basically, I’m saying I’m overjoyed to see Golden Kamuy made the list, even if it's from one of its most tame battles that is simply a no-holds-barred free-for-all where everyone gets their nose broken by a berserk Sugimoto.
Might have been the JoJo's reference (not really) but this battle got 700k views in 30 days and just barely beat out Railgun T by ~1k views.
  6. JUJUTSU KAISEN - Gojo vs Sukuna
youtube
Another series I’m unsurprised to see on the list but with an unexpected battle. I would have imagined Gojo’s battle against Jogo might have drawn more attention, or perhaps more recently, Itadori’s battle with Mahito. This clip does make sense after a fashion. It was a breakout moment where MAPPA showed they really meant business adapting JUJUTSU KAISEN and the fight was between two characters that have become fan favorites.
Definitely, a defining moment that pulled in double the seventh placer's views at 1.4 million in its first 30 days! Since JUJUTSU KAISEN is still attracting new fans and already topping popularity lists, I imagine it would have been even higher given a bit more time in 2020. Gojo vs Sukuna has continued its upward climb to almost 3 million views, putting it only a few days away from claiming the Number 4 spot in lifetime views. Not bad for an anime in the year's final quarter!
  5. Boruto - Sarada vs Sakura
youtube
BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS has delivered spectacularly animated battles for just about its entire run that prove this anime is no afterthought to the Naruto franchise. Despite a wide selection of quality battles that dropped in 2020, I must admit I knew this one would be at the top. What self-respecting Naruto fan wouldn’t be interested in seeing a less-than-friendly mother/daughter slugfest between Sarada and Sakura? Although theoretically a training match to help Sarada develop her Sharingan, the amount of destruction makes it clear that one wrong move and even Sakura’s medical Jutsu would have trouble putting either of them back together again.
The Uchiha family battle secured its place with 1.5 million views in its first 30 days. Sarada's family moments, even the ones without fighting, are always winners and Sarada vs Sakura is the third youngest clip on the list so I'm guessing this one is going to withstand the test of time.
  4. One Piece - Zoro vs Hitokiri Kamazo
youtube
One Piece has been on a tear since the beginning of its much-anticipated Wano Kuni arc. Even after delivering a huge battle between Luffy and Katakuri at the end of Whole Cake, there has been a notable bump in the frequency and quality of standout animation in the long-running series, which is great to see since the Wano arc is a series of back-to-back skirmishes that can be elevated by some explosive visuals.
No moment this year stands out more in my memory than Zoro’s battle against Hitokiri Kamazo and it seems the fans agree. Zoro borrowing his enemy’s weapon to pull off an amazingly animated Purgatory Onigiri may be one of the coolest sequences in One Piece’s almost 1,000-episode long run. This moment also got 1.5 million views in 30 days, narrowing beating Boruto by about 13k views.
  3. Black Clover - Everyone vs The Devil
youtube
Black Clover has grown as a production to develop a unique visual style for magic-heavy battles and really deliver some hugely impressive battles. It’s ramp up hit a peak in 2019 with the battle between Julius and Licht and it’s been riding high ever since. The top fight of 2020 is an obvious one, as the climactic moment of the series' insanely escalating arc kicked off by Julius and Licht’s battle. It seems like half the cast piled into Hell to take on the unnamed devil and his overpowered word soul magic. To be honest I was surprised the series kept going at all after a moment this climactic (I’m not complaining though).
The final attack of this battle drew 1.6 million views in its first 30 days and now sits proudly in the Number 2 spot for lifetime views on this list at over 5.5 million!
  2. The God of High School - Jin vs Jaegal
youtube
With its sheer number of lovingly animated battles, The God of High School was a shoo-in for this list and might represent 50 percent or more of its total entries if I hadn’t limited it to one entry per series. Jin vs Jaegal is a natural choice, as the climactic battle of the fast-paced fighting series which delivered on the much-anticipated reveal of Jin Mori’s charyeok. This one really put the god in the high school, jumping far past One Piece to pull 2.1 million views in its first month.
  1. My Hero Academia - Endeavor vs Special Nomu
youtube
My Hero Academia had a huge climactic battle to cap off the winter season, so I gotta say I’m surprised to see it’s the other one that secured the top spot as the Number 1 battle of 2020. Deku vs Overhaul was a huge moment for the series and definitely sits in the upper half of this list, if not the Number 2 spot — but something about Endeavor fighting a Nomu really pulled in a crowd, even putting the clip on YouTube’s trending list. It continues to creep upward at 7.5 million views. One of the most-watched moments of the entire year!
On reflection moments that show a theoretical power ceiling of a series are always impactful, such as Orochimaru’s battle with Sarutobi or even My Hero Academia’s own battle between All Might and All for One. Endeavor definitely pulled out the guns for this battle to leave an impression before the long wait until the next season ... Or maybe it was just because he said “plus ultra?” Regardless, Endeavor blasted past even the Number 2 spot on this list at 3.7 million views in its first 30 days.
Those were the best battles of 2020 according to you and, consequently, the last of this series of Top 10 lists. When it comes to fights there’s a lot more to look forward to in 2021. Boruto, Black Clover, and One Piece have all been building toward their current arcs' big conflicts and each seems primed to pull the trigger early next year. If that weren’t enough JUJUTSU KAISEN is about to kick off its school event and MHA is set to make its return.
That does it for 2020. Hope to see you all at the same time next year.

Looking to do a My Hero Academia roleplay!
(I’m a bit new to Tumblr so I apologize if this isn’t the best)
My name is Galaxy and I’ve been roleplaying for 6 years. My literacy is literate, although I can mirror my partner’s length. I’m active most hours of the day, and my timezone is Eastern Standard Time.*
Also all of that above is true, my timezone is EST and I’m literate👍 But anyways, I hope to see you in dms!!

Changeling: The League (1/3)
Being some errant nerdery combining two things I love very much into one thing that is exponentially more nerdy than either thing on its own: My Hero Academia villains as Changeling: the Lost characters!
This will(/should) be a series of three posts containing some mid-length write-ups on the League of Villains, the Metahuman Liberation Army, and some odds-and-ends on other characters/alternate takes.
Some prelude: The most prominent question that kept coming up as I was brainstorming the write-ups below was, “Is this retelling the story of My Hero Academia using Changeling: The Lost’s mechanics and world, or is this exploring Changeling: The Lost’s themes using the My Hero Academia cast?”  Would these versions of the characters be NPC villains in Izuku’s story, opponents (or possibly eventual allies) in some grand, epic clash between Heroes and Villains as begun with All Might and All for One?  Would it be the story of a corrupt system, pulled down by the PC group that was Shigaraki and his motley?  I had ideas for both, but in the end, I decided that, rather than oblige myself to the MHA canon, I was ultimately more interested in just letting the implied “story” focus on the League and their histories of loss, trauma and recovery, so that’s the spirit in which these are written.  (Though things do get a bit plottier when their story intersects with the MLA’s.)
Lastly, these are, of course, completely AU, but if you don’t know who the Liberation Army is, you’re probably still going to trip over manga spoilers, so be mindful.
First, let me lay down some backstory!  Specifically, the story of All for One, One for All, and the lives they drew into their story...
THE PROLOGUE
There is a realm in Faerie inhabited by a pair of binary-matched Fae, All for One and One for All, styling themselves as warring brothers.  They’ve been fighting for many long generations, each in their own fashion.  All for One has tended to keep his power mostly within himself, employing many underlings, but sharing his power with very few of them.  One for All, conversely, has shared most of himself with a succession of users, and in each generation, the pair clashes, with OFA not very "present" for the battles (and thus at less risk), while AFO is able to bring more of himself to the fights.  Before each battle, each user of OFA would be "freed" for a period to find and designate a successor (who would inevitably go missing a few weeks later), before returning for the battle.  They often did this with deeply tormented feelings, but saw little escape from the pattern.  Each one hoped that they might be the one strong enough to break the cycle, as OFA told them each time was a possibility--patterns grow stronger for being repeated, after all--but none of them was able to do so until recently.  Toshinori Yagi refused to designate a successor, and finally, for his stubbornness, was recalled to do battle without one--without having passed even a fragment of OFA's power on, he was finally able to defeat AFO.
In his defeat, AFO was cast out from Faerie.  He had little memory of who and what he was, but retained a sense for fae matters and a limited grasp on his powers.  He spent the next several years setting up shop in the local freehold, dabbling with Spring and Autumn Court matters as his fancy took him, and racking up a fair amount of renown with the latter in particular when the former found him too ruthless, and not only with humans.  One day, though, he stumbled across what would eventually become his way home--a little boy who felt startlingly familiar, black-haired with a mole on his chin.  AFO struck up a friendship, and when he eventually met the boy's father, things began to click into place--he knew this family because he once fought their matriarch, and that connection was the key to his return.  As he was once defeated by this bloodline bearing his brother's power, for his rise, he had to defeat someone of the bloodline--but he couldn’t just do it straight out.  With his brother, there were pacts in play, old bargains and arrangements.  He couldn’t just waltz in and kill Shimura Kotaro.
One of them needed to ask.
THE LEAGUE
Here are the League roughly as we might find them when they’ve been out long enough to build a motley, solidify their bonds somewhat, and start taking on bigger, toothier problems.  All have 7 dots of Contracts except Shigaraki, who has a modest leader bump.  Just assume he’s been out doing some level-grinding the others haven’t.
Shigaraki Tomura
Quote: “There’s always a win condition.”
Type: Gameplayer Wizened.  A trophy/souvenir of AFO’s time on Earth, Tomura survived a durance filled with little but tests in the guise of games.  Survival, combat, endurance, manual dexterity, reaction time, strategy, academics, even odd trivia--he learned them all under his Keeper’s tutelage, in preparation for the next battle with his brother's champion (AFO having seen that his brother's way of doing things has its merits).  Tomura grew up believing himself responsible for his family's deaths (though he's blocked most of the specifics, he knows in his gut that he's responsible somehow) and watching the realm celebrate the champion who'd defeated Tomura’s Keeper, but who hadn't done a thorough enough job to prevent the cycle from resetting after all.
Toshinori, for his part, initially had no idea that AFO had returned with a child, a new champion.  But he did know that AFO had returned (the realms are connected enough that you can't really miss it), and so waited for the next battle with some impatience.  He thought that he, perhaps, just hadn't done well enough, that he'd be more careful, more thorough next time.  After all, patterns become stronger when they repeat.  He doesn't truly understand that All for One can't be killed--not in Faerie, at least--and so there will be no end to the cycle as it stands.  Eventually, he got tired of waiting and sought out AFO on his own--and was shocked to find a kid, just a kid, where he expected to find AFO.  AFO did not think Shigaraki was ready for this yet, and was not prepared to watch several years' worth of effort and his cute keepsake get slaughtered (and he probably would have been; Shigaraki could have all the lives he wanted in training, but an official battle against the sanctioned bearer of OFA would have been different), so he ejected Shigaraki from Faerie and fought the battle himself.  As to what happened afterwards, Shigaraki has no way to know, but the gradual return of various other servants of AFO may eventually begin to shed some light on the subject…
Shigaraki is, when his story truly begins, still figuring out his current game--outside of Arcadia, second chances are harder to come by--but he’s a sore loser and a quick learner, so he never stays down for long, and he’s already made a friend in Toga, who he met in his escape from the Hedge.  He still has very ambivalent feelings about his Keeper, which makes him something of an outlier amongst changelings, who typically feel only terror and loathing for the Others that upended their lives and scarred them in ways that will never--can never--fully heal.  No one, including Shigaraki, has quite realized his connection to the Emperor of Darkness who caused so much havoc in the freehold when he escaped back to Faerie five years ago.  Likewise, Tomura’s fetch, only ten years old, is still in a mental care unit in juvie for the murders of the Shimura family, but dealing with that mess will have to wait until Shigaraki can stomach the idea of even looking at that version of himself.
Tomura looks much as he does in canon, thin and covered with scratching and scarring.  Behind his tousled white hair, though, his red eyes gleam and flicker as if they’re forever reflecting the dancing lights of a screen.  His masked form has black hair rather than white, and eyes the color of dark, old rust.
Court/Mantle: Autumn, the season of fear.  Shigaraki’s entire durance threatened him always with the fear of failure (and the fear of the consequences of failure), and he himself would rather intimidate than charm, but he also shares the Leaden Mirror’s inquisitiveness and discerning eye.  As such, even when he first emerged from the Hedge, it was with a strong Autumn mantle, and it’s only grown stronger over time.  He’s often trailed by dead, desiccated brown leaves, and Hedge foliage that’s in his presence for any length of time visibly begins to wither--but his mantle flares up even more when he’s being actively combative.  Chilly, dry bursts of air can wring involuntary chills from those on the receiving end of his wide grins and dire promises. When he’s feeling more playful, one can sometimes see small flickers of light in the shape of unknown words or hear odd little strains of music from unrecognizable (albeit somewhat tinny) instruments.
Contracts:
Fleeting Autumn I.  He’s not so concerned with becoming some kind of symbol of fear that he’s pursued this Contract very much, but it never hurts to get an idea of what your opponent’s afraid of.
Eternal Autumn I-III.  It takes time, glamour expenditure, and good dice rolls, but he can kill people this way, withering them down to nothing.  Conversely, he can also make plants bear fruit.  It’s occasionally useful.
Hours I.  He’s figured out how to consciously botch the activation of this clause so as to decay the targeted object instead of restoring it.  It usually works, but sometimes randomly backlashes onto him instead, causing him injury--the bigger the object, the worse the damage.  The Wyrd doesn’t like being toyed with.
Lucidity I-IV.  Clarity is a fluid, malleable thing for Shigaraki, which can make him extremely frightening--he can thank his Keeper’s lessons in control.  With this series of Contracts, Shigaraki can and does laugh off the kinds of deeds that would make other changelings quail back in fear of what their own minds would do to them in the aftermath.  He can also be shockingly perceptive for someone who by rights should have terrible trouble distinguishing the boundaries between Real and Unreal, Self and Other.  However, his use of these powers does make him somewhat mercurial and difficult to predict, even to his motley, as derangements come and go with the artificial inflation or drain of his Clarity.  It’s a downward slope, but one he’s taking more slowly than would otherwise be the case.
(Hypothetical Powered-Up Shigaraki: Adds two 5-dot Goblin Contracts, Blood-Binding and The Fatal Transformation.  Be it the power of glamour or the breath of life itself, if Shigaraki wants an enemy drained and is willing to pay his pound of flesh, Goblin magic will provide.  It’s a good thing he’s got friends to back him up, as both of these powers leave him in a pretty vulnerable state.)
Toga Himiko
Quote: “I met someone cute today.  Don’t wait up!”
Type: Mirrorskin/Leechfinger dual kith Darkling.  Toga served her durance in the chrome-tinted underbelly of a glass-and-brass dystopia full of mirrors, learning to steal life as easily as she stole food, and to slip from one form to another to keep ahead of everyone who’d chase her down for doing it.  More free than she’d been in her old life, to be sure, but still not free to truly do as she pleased, she dreamed of being able to hunt people down the way she’d been hunted down, with no one to answer to for it.  In time, she managed her escape and, on her path back through the Hedge, crossed paths with Tomura--distraught, lost, but still with plenty of fight left in him.  Each decided that the other was dangerous but sympathetic enough to be a better ally than an enemy, and they teamed up to find their way back to the real world.
Back in that real world, Toga is learning to put herself back together.  Getting back home only to find something waiting there wearing her face was a shock to her system, but after some agonizing (and a bloodbath in her parents’ kitchen), she’s decided it’s for the best.  If going back to being that girl means giving up the amazing psychic buffet the world now presents her, it’s not even a debate.
Toga in her masked form is dark of hair and eye, a school girl with a wide smile and swift, excitable hands.  In her true form, everything bleeds paler--she’s china white, even her hair turning paler than flaxen fiber, most of her features seeming somehow insubstantial except for the long points of her teeth and the gas lamp yellow of her eyes.
Court/Mantle: Spring, the season of desire.  Toga, more than anyone in the motley, has embraced the fact that she wants things now that she never would have before, that she has desires that no human would ever understand.  And why not?  She doesn’t kill people, after all; she just likes to taste.  The air around her is always infused with heady floral scents, and when she walks, phantom flowers trail up behind her.  Hemlock and cypress vine, spider lilies and nightshade--all lovely, to be sure, but the language of flowers does give her away.
Contracts: Everything about Toga’s Contracts heightens her skills as a predator, and she’s unquestionably the best in the group at it.
Mirror I-II.  Allows her to shape her form with more specificity and finesse.
Darkness I-II.  Makes her targets more suggestible.
Fleeting Spring I-III.  Lets her pinpoint what her targets want so that she can shape those wants or her reflection of them as needed.
Bubaigawara Jin
Quote: “Nothing’s too much for my friends!”
Type: Truefriend Beast.  Jin’s human life didn’t differ much from his canonical backstory, minus the super power, but went drastically off course when he was hunted down--even on a motorcycle, hunted down!--by a monster on horseback and the various other monsters tumbling before it.  His changeling life consisted of one cage, one chase after another, and while most of the people around him were shaping themselves into being better vessels for coursing, baying, sharp-toothed menace, what Jin most wanted was the pack solidarity.  His Keeper thought this was funny but not a very useful trait in a hunting hound, so they started taking him to dog fights instead, hoping to scour the excess sweetness off of him.  Lacking a pack to stay for, he escaped, but the wanting for one never left him.
Toga basically tripped over him his first night out, and her kindness then meant he was more than happy to follow her home.  He later made the acquaintance of Mr. Compress and Magne on a bar crawl and, wanting all of his friends to be friends together, introduced them to Shigaraki and Toga.  He’s also trying to make friends with his fetch, who is finding the whole experience of having a clone pop up at him at unexpected times to be unbelievably disorienting and nerve-wracking.  Which one of them is the real one, anyway…?
His mask looks much as Jin does in canon, though his scars are in different places.  In mien, he  always looks a bit rumpled, with short, sandy brown fur and bright, emotive eyes.  He’s dog-eared (literally), one alert, the other floppy, and his hands have stubby, darkened nails.  Unbelievably expressive and more overtly doggish body language--he didn’t keep a tail in his flight back through the Hedge, but people tend to remember him as having one anyway.
Court/Mantle: Courtless.  Jin’s too mixed up in his own emotions to pick just one to focus on.  He likes the idea of Spring, but he’s also skeptical that just wanting is enough to keep people safe, and that fear is rooted deep.  He’s also not without his old sorrows.  Of the High Court emotions, wrath is his rarest visitor.
Contracts:
Fang & Talon (Dogs) I-III.  Jin’s got an undeniable rapport with dogs.  He loves them and they love him.  There’s practically no mutt he can’t get some words out of if he asks nice.  He’s also still got a hunting hound’s nose, when he needs it.
Hearth I-II.  Deeply dedicated to his friends, the Contracts of Hearth make advancing the goals of the motley (or hurting the chances of their enemies) even easier.
Eternal Spring I.  Easier to be a people-pleaser when you know what pleases people!  Toga taught him this one.
Moon I.  It’s good to know what people want, but it’s also good to know what kind of crazy people (fetches especially) might be sitting on.  This one also helps the group nail down where Shigaraki’s head is at on any given day.
Spinner
Quote: “What a mess.  Where are we even going with this?”
Type: Steepscrambler Beast.  Spinner spent, by his best reckoning, four years in a Faerie jungle.  It was always sweltering, sickbed heat with air so wet you could choke on it, and after a few close calls with the serpentine river dragons and over-large birds of prey that prowled the place, he’d all but given up trying to search for a way out--the sea of trees just went on forever anyway.  A long-tongued madman named Stain convinced him otherwise, with talk of hidden trods and clues found in the bellies of gutted fish.  When Stain went missing, Spinner resolved to try again, and though he can no longer remember the method of it, whatever he did seems to have worked.  He got back to his shitty hometown, but found it just as bad as ever, if not worse, with a fetch still cooped up in his old bedroom, spiralling ever further into depression.  And so, fed up with the state of his life and the apathy his fetch reflected back at him, he did something that very few changelings are capable of doing--he left home.
Finding his way to the nearest big city with a proper freehold, Spinner gravitated to the Summer Court and got set up with an apartment in a small complex the freehold maintains for newbies to stay in while they get their feet under them.  Not too long after, Shigaraki and Toga wandered into a Summer recruitment drive, with Shigaraki immediately managing to get on Spinner’s nerves--which made it all the more exasperating when Spinner went home and found the both of them moving into the apartment next door to his!  Spinner’s still trying to figure out what he thinks of the mercurial and difficult Shigaraki, but they have been bonding over video games of late.
Spinner’s mask is a sun-darkened young man with a prominent nose and a thin, terse mouth.  He’s straight-backed but with a certain nerviness in his eyes, a stance that suggests he’s ready to throw the first punch.  He has a street punk look--pointy fingernails and pink hair--that people without the sight to know better assume is achieved with a nail file and hair dye.  His mask looks exactly like canon!Spinner with one exception--changeling!Spinner has ears.  They’re pointy, green and finely-scaled, but otherwise normal humanoid ears and they make his face look just a little wider and more humanoid than canon!Spinner’s lizard profile.
Court/Mantle: Summer, the season of wrath.  Spinner’s angry about a lot of things--the state of the world, the injustices served to his motley and the wrongs of his life in particular--but he’s also wrestling with a lot of self-loathing.  It’s easy for him to slip into fatalistic thoughts and get mired down in apathy, and every time he thinks he’s gotten past it, someone or something comes along that throws him off, and then before he knows it he’s back on the ground wondering how he’s ever going to get past this.  Leaning into Summer’s hot anger helps keep him focused.  His mantle is relatively weak, tending to manifest as a warm, dry wind only when he’s particularly fired up or activating Court contracts.
Contracts: Spinner’s well-rounded, but that’s because he has a hard time settling on anything.  His ridiculous spread of Contracts illustrates this.
Den I-II.  Not interested in leaning into his animal instincts and learning to talk to lizards, Spinner has instead leaned into possessive territorialism.  Unfortunately, he still feels like a small fish, so it’s hard to muster up the swagger that would allow him to progress this Contract further.
Fleeting Summer I.  Need to pick a fight and score some quick glamour?  This is the clause for you!  Just make sure Dabi’s not around; that guy’s angrier than the whole rest of the motley put together and it skews the readings.
Eternal Summer I.  Makes Spinner a walking thermostat. Yes, sometimes Toga and Mr. Compress take advantage.
Oath & Punishment I.  There’s a certain capital-R romance to this Contract that Spinner likes, but he’d need to find something (or someone) to whole-heartedly devote himself to first.  At least he can do sick parkour jumps in the meantime.
Artifice I.  Temporary repair magic.  Handy around the house and when you fight with cheap knives.
Dream I.  Useful facts about the local Hedge and he’s generally content to leave it at that--he doesn’t have a lot of use for dream-spinning, not when Magne’s so good at it.
Dabi
Quote: “You’re mad, huh?  So what are you gonna do about it?”
Type: Gravewight Darkling.  Once upon a time, there was a barren couple who wished desperately for children.  For many years, it was only a wish, until Todoroki Enji finally found someone who offered him a solution.  Nine months later, Todoroki Touya was born, to be followed by a string of children, each haler and heartier than the last.  Seven years later, the firstborn child was taken away in the night.  No fetch was left behind--after all, the Other was only claiming the price they’d been promised.  Fifteen years after that, a changeling calling himself Dabi dragged himself out of the Hedge, having spent most of his life lighting funeral pyres and digging graves in Faerie until he dug his way out.
Dabi fell in with the rest of the League motley after being found by Magne after a fight went sideways.  She patched him up and offered him a group to run around with for a while rather than doing the solo act.  He accepted, but his pledges with the rest of the group are a bit different--more paranoid, less supportive.  Dabi is distant from the motley, and only time will tell if he eventually lets them in or not.
In mask, Dabi’s a beanpole, wild black hair and bright blue eyes with a caustic grin, skulking about in a succession of black coats and heavy, workmanlike boots.  In mien, he’s even taller, a too-thin gaunt with great swatches of skin burned away by restless soul-fires, which still cling and flicker blue around his hands.  His skin fits him a bit too loose, and he wears staples to keep it all in place.
Court/Mantle: Summer, the season of wrath.  Could it ever be anything else?  Rather stronger than Spinner’s mantle, Dabi’s manifests as heat distortions in the air around him and, when he’s particularly riled up, blasts of hot air like you’d get opening up a hot oven.  He has some trouble advancing in the Court proper, though, as he prefers to only fight battles he knows he can win.  He feels, all the time, sick with rage, but until he proves willing to make stands even when the odds are against him, the Iron Spear’s time for him will be limited.
Contracts:
Shade & Spirit I.  If he’s going to see ghosts around all the time anyway, he might as well be able to talk to them.  They’re only sporadically helpful, but as a skeleton in the closet himself, he has some fellow feeling for them.
Elements (Fire) I-III.  He brought fire with him out of Faerie, but it’s a difficult thing for him to master, foreign to his seeming despite sometimes feeling as if it’s nestled in his very bones.
Fleeting Summer I-II.  Dabi’s much at home with wrath, and very willing to shape it to his own ends.  Whether or not he sticks around for them, he likes starting fights.
Punishing Summer I.  An odd branch of Summer magic, but one that he feels has some promise for him.  Compared to the more straightforwardly righteous Contract of Eternal Summer, this feels harsher, longer-burning, and that sings to him in ways he finds very appealing.
Mr. Compress
Quote: “If we’re going to break the law, why shouldn’t we do it in style?”
Type: Larcenist Fairest.  A simple stage magician of modest fame once upon a time, right up until he was offered a promising and lucrative gig by a stranger who thought he deserved a better stage for his talents.  The stage in this case turned out to be--well, you can guess.  His client (Keeper) wanted things stolen--they seemed to enjoy the taste of things ill-gotten--and there was always some new diamond or painting or antique.  Sako’s time in Faerie (which he came to share with Magne) was like a string of heist films: glamorous and bubbly and thrilling, but the underside was rife with lurid, impossible violence waiting on the slightest error, the stakes always seemed to be climbing, and of course you could never say no…  But one thing you can say for heist films is that they always allot a proper amount of time for planning, and so over time Sako and the others planned their last heist--the one to steal themselves into freedom.  If asked, Sako will tell a dozen different stories about how it went, but the truth is his memories are fuzzy, and the only thing he knows for sure is that he and Magne emerged from the Hedge alone.
Sako’s a bit disjunctioned in time--many more years have passed in the real world than he spent in Faerie, and he spent a good many years in Faerie.  His fetch washed up in a nursing home in the meantime, riddled with palsy and Alzheimer’s, and though Sako is not by habit or preference a violent man, the sight of it filled him with a primal loathing.  And it’s so easy, in an overcrowded environment, to make a mistake with a dosage…  Sako still has a piece of the detritus left over, just to remind himself of how his story could have ended, and how determined he is to not let such a future come to pass.
In his mask, Mr. Compress (well, he needed a new stage name) is a handsome, auburn-haired man in his forties who gestures constantly, frequently toying with a short white cane, and speaks in refined if somewhat dated language in a rich, theatrical voice.  He always dresses a bit more nicely than he needs to, preferring clothes with hidden pockets and long sleeves, and is rarely without a hat to flourish.  His mien mostly serves to heighten all of that--he becomes impossibly graceful and compelling, his voice catching the ear like a song, and his clothes are revealed to be Hedgespun, the feather in his hat belonging to no bird an ornithologist could name, the buttons on his coat and the stone accentuating his bolo tie shifting slowly in pattern and shade the longer you watch, and the cane almost certainly a low-level token of some kind.  The most eye-catching thing, though, is the mask--he wears a white mask that always seems to have a different pattern on it, though it never moves while you’re looking directly at it.  He doesn’t seem able to actually remove it all the way, though he can slide it around enough to eat or theatrically squint or blink his eyes (dark and bewitchingly expressive).  If it’s forcefully pulled off, it’s only to reveal another one beneath it--though he’ll complain that it stings and ask you to refrain.
Court/Mantle: Autumn, the season of fear magic!  Mr. Compress didn’t come out of the Hedge with a particular Court affinity, but he was drawn towards Autumn like a compass needle finding true north.  He’s only a limited interest in fear (though his response to his fetch shows that he has his share of it), but he’s endlessly fascinated by the ins-and-outs of faerie magic.  Trinkets, tokens, pledge-craft--if it’s a clever trick, he’s interested.  His mantle shows as pops and starbursts of light, and frequently as a cool, trailing mist about his feet.
Contracts: The only person in the group more focused than Toga.
Separation I-IV.  Escape magic fit for Houdini himself.  If it looks like Compress is locked up or restrained, it’s almost only certainly because he’s allowing himself to be.
Forge I-III.  Sleight of hand is even more impressive when you’re using magic!  Extremely convenient for those times when he needs a passable ID or a house key he does not in fact own.
Magne
Quote: “Take it easy, honey.  I’ll handle it.”
Type: Metalflesh Elemental.  Magne was a criminal before she was a changeling, and it was in that capacity that she--like Mr. Compress--fell prey to an offer that should have been too good to be true.  The heist team needed a bit more muscle, is the thing; they were getting caught too often without a good combatant.  And so came Magne, given a sturdier body (that could, incidentally, meld through safe walls when necessary) through processes she only remembers in her nightmares.  An odd thing happened with her, though--what Magne felt the pull of in Faerie was less the element she became and more the stuff of Arcadia itself.  Where her Keeper expected her to become hard as steel, instead she embraced dream conjury; where she was instructed to protect the rest of her band, that protection took the form of healing as often as it did squaring up for a fight.  It’s hard to argue with the results, though--Magne is a fierce and stubborn defender of any group that wins her loyalty.
Currently in a live-and-let live relationship with her fetch--she feels a bit sorry for the poor creature, and would rather see her find a way to break free of the image she was forged in and make her own path than kill her.  It’s painful to be around her, though, so while Magne’s willing to extend some help from a distance, she would rather the fetch keep her distance.  Time will tell if her fetch--who has her own desires and very much shares Magne’s willingness to bust some heads over them--is prepared to abide by this.
Magne in mask looks much as she does in canon, though she can afford nicer clothes.  Her preference for butch presentation is unchanged, but the jeans are designer and the shirts elaborate silk prints.  She has a collection of fetching sunglasses for any occasion.  Her mien is a gleaming ochre bronze, flesh hard and smooth, her hair (a bit darker in color than the rest of her) always a bit stiff but, on the other hand, difficult to muss.  Her body is in all ways a more chiselled, more perfected version of the body she went into Arcadia with, which Magne has mixed but overall relieved feelings about.  The flesh-to-metal transition her Keeper forced on her was bad enough; whyever would she trust the Others with gender affirmation?
Court/Mantle: Spring, season of desire growth. Magne’s desire is to never be held down by any sort of repression or expectation forced on her by others (the Others in particular), and this pride drew her strongly to the Antler Crown.  While she doesn’t exhibit the flowing, graceful beauty so prized in women of the Emerald Court, her passion for self-expression and her unstinting support of those fumbling their way towards the same has certainly won her her share of admirers.  Magne’s mantle takes the form of fresh-scented air and pleasant breezes.  She doesn’t leave flowers where she walks, but you can sometimes find ivy where her hands have been.
        Contracts:
Dream I-III.  By leaps and bounds the most talented dream-weaver in the motley, Magne’s oneiromancy is light-hearted and nonjudgmental while her oneiromachy is formidable.  Everyone in the motley can soothe one another’s nightmares, but Magne is the best at it.  She usually has at least one or two dream-task pledges active with mortals, too, so she rarely struggles to keep her glamour reserves--or her wallet--full.
Elements (Metal) I.  Magne’s retained only the minimum level of connection with the metal she was forged from; in truth, her body is less important to her than what she does with it.
Eternal Spring I-III.  Easing fatigue, curing wounds, and even bringing in         a gentle rain--Magne’s deeply in touch with the rejuvenative aspects of her Court.
BONUS TIDBITS:
Shigaraki experienced more deaths in Faerie than any other member of his motley.  After all, you might know the cheat code for unlimited lives, but that doesn’t mean you never die.  And it did feel like death, every time.  Of course, sometimes failure just meant Sensei shaking his head and Being Disappointed.  That still felt a bit like dying too, though.
Over the course of her durance, Toga had more than one knife fight with a cyber hero adventurer hunting through the city’s underbelly looking for a power core.  Also, changeling!Toga is much less murderous than canon!Toga because if she were as murderous as canon!Toga, Clarity loss would rapidly render her unplayable.
Spinner was pulled into the motley over a planned playdate heist to see how well Shigaraki and Toga could work as a unit with Mr. Compress and Magne.  Being very familiar with heist stories by that time, Sako and Magne decided the group needed one more guy to provide muscle, and as it happened, Shigaraki and Toga lived next door to just such a one.
I have not decided on whether the Todoroki family are a mundane equivalent of the way we see them in canon, all deeply damaged by Endeavor’s ceaseless drive to fulfill his goals by way of his children, or whether they’re actually pretty normal and well-adjusted with the exception of Enji’s one dark secret.  Either way, Natsuo is the only one who has any inkling that there was anything “off” about Touya’s death/disappearance.    He has no inkling of the truth, obviously, but he always felt that Enji didn't react quite the right way to Touya's death, or thought Enji was behaving suspiciously on the night Touya vanished.
The League’s basic motley pact includes the dreaming pledge, so they frequently take mental voyages into one another’s dreamscapes to clear out the nightmares and indulge in silly, impossible-in-reality lucid dreaming adventures.  The exception is Dabi, who would rather have nightmares than people in his head.
Mr. Compress doesn’t jokingly call himself an old man anymore because he’s too traumatized by finding out what he’d actually be like in old age.
Shigaraki, while beginning the story in a fairly ambivalent, uncertain place, eventually finds his way towards a goal of helping to free loyalists--from their hopeless circumstances, from their learned helplessness, from their starstruck adoration.  He finds this goal over the course of his late-game encounters with Kurogiri, Gigantomachia, and Re-Destro, and it is through helping them that he’s finally able to begin to process his own feelings of attachment and affection towards his Keeper.  It may well be that the fetch of Shimura Tenko is Shigaraki’s final boss.

Saw the My Hero Academia Heroes Rising Movie!
It was a lot of fun (and the animation in the second half was AMAZING eye candy) but also KINDA STRANGE in some ways.
The previous MHA movie was set between the second and third season, so I assumed this would be the same and be set between the third and the currently airing one, but this actually seemed to be concurrent with wherever the manga is right now, and referenced several events that haven’t happened in the anime yet, and featured characters that haven’t appeared yet. Not like super huge spoilers, but like, for instance, Todoroki quotes something I GUESS Endeavor must have told him in the manga but hasn’t said to him in the anime yet at a dramatic moment? even that dude who caused all the controversy with his name reveal recently factors in and appears for a few minutes. So if you’re an anime-only like me, fair warning for that.
There were also a lot of hilariously contrived things in this movie including the entire premise which was like
UA: so we’ve been roasted in the press and lost the trust of society for being irresponsible supervising our students who are currently being targeted by a villainous organization that will take any opening to attack them. what do we do?
Aizawa: well I think we should send the entire class of first years to an isolated island with ZERO adult hero supervision, where the nearest help is like a thousand miles away and they can easily be cut off from communication with the outside world! Also we should task them with protecting the entire populace, and do absolutely nothing to check up on them or keep the League of Villains from following them and attacking. This is a cool island with no crime on it usually so, y’know, it should be fine.
UA: brilliant!
It did make for some cool fight scenes and having all the peeps in class 1A get to show off their powers a bit, which is something the first movie didn’t do very well. The first half of the movie was very obnoxious in the ‘guys fight, girls are in charge of evacuation and don’t get to fight bc we’re not going to bother to hide our sexism here’ but the second half had all the kids teaming up for cool combo attacks which mitigated it a bit.
also Bakugou and Deku’s contrasting ways of dealing with the two little kids they were protecting WAS side-splitting; at one point poor Deku has to crawl on Bakugou’s back and SHOVE HIS FINGERS INTO HIS EYES and prevent him  raging out at these small children and it made me laugh so hard, as did the little girl saying “OH HEY IT’S THE MEAN ONE” when Bakugou arrived to rescue her.
BUT HEY SPEAKING OF BOTH COOL FIGHTS AND REALLY CONTRIVED THINGS, THAT ENDING.
in an article I skimmed, Horikoshi mentions the movie is basically an idea he considered for the final arc, and I was like “huh I wonder how that works” but when you watch the last half of the movie YUP it’s truly a bunch of climactic shonen final arc resolution events happening that are then immediately undone and it’s just SO awkward and hilarious. spoilers under the cut
Basically, Deku and Bakugou fight a villain who is basically All for One except it’s A Different Dude.
Deku is all: KACCHAN I WILL SACRIFICE ONE FOR ALL AND GIVE IT TO YOU SO WE CAN LIKE, BOTH HAVE IT  FOR A WHILE AND BEAT THIS GUY WITH DOUBLE POWER AND THEN  IF WE LIVE YOU’LL JUST HAVE IT I GUESS
Bakugou: wtf really. (his conflicted, upset and uncomfortable expressions here were REALLY detailed, like I said the animation was gonzo, but it was honestly rlly weird to see him experience a lot of emotions at once IM NOT USED TO HIM HAVING MORE THAN ONE)
DEKU:  YEAH WHY NOT, JUST FUCKIN’ TAKE IT, YOU GET TO HAVE EVERYTHING JUST LIKE WHEN YOU STOLE MY LUNCH MONEY
Bakugou: oh shit...we’re going to slowly reach and have our fingers brush each other and struggle until we finally clasp hands aren’t we...
Deku: YEAH THAT’S RIGHT BITCH!!! AND WE’LL MIX BLOOD WHILE MIGHT U TOUCHINGLY PLAYS IN THE BACKGROUND
Bakugou: fuck. Kirishima can’t ever know about this
Deku: NOW ACCEPT THIS HAND, AND THUS SYMBOLICALLY YOU ACCEPT THE HAND I OFFERED YOU WHEN WE WERE FIVE OR WHATEVER, CULMINATING YOUR ARC AS MY RIVAL AND GIVING YOU THE POWER TO BECOME SUPER SAIYAN
Bakugou: oh no you’re not kidding I look so stupid.
Deku: That you do, Vegeta.  NOW ARE YOU EXCITED TO BREAK YOUR ARMS!!!
Bakugou: didn’t you spend like, a whole episode realizing you have legs??? what happened to that? but yeah actually i am i have always wanted to show i can break my arms with these powers way better than u ever did!!!
Deku: honestly I couldn’t have chosen anyone more deserving than u to feel this pain
anyway they fight together and then pass out and All Might arrives ten minutes late with starbucks: what the fuck did you do young midoriya
Deku: I’M SO SAD I SACRIFICED MYSELF AND MY DREAM.
All Might: NOT AS SAD AS ME IF YOU GAVE MY POWERS TO YOUNG BAKUGOU! THAT MEANS I ACTUALLY HAVE TO SPEND A TIME WITH HIM NOW. DO YOU KNOW HOW ANNOYING THAT WILL BE FOR ME
Deku: sorry
All Might: oh thank god i guess Bakugou passed out conveniently before the powers fully transferred so you still have them or whatever
Deku: wow that is incredibly convenient.
All Might: alternately maybe my mentor was doing me a solid from beyond the grave and stopped the power from transferring to someone obnoxious with the other One for All-ers. Thanks Hero Mom :’). always looking out for me.
Deku: uhh when i proposed a similar theory about the people connected to One for All helping me you said it was stupid-?
All Might: YEAH WELL THAT WAS WHEN YOU SAID IT WASN’T IT??? SHUT UP.
Deku: anyway in the trend of convenient happenings, when Bakugou woke he remembered nothing about this fight...
Bakugou: Assagdsfasfasdasd WHY ARE MY ARMS BROKEN???
Deku:... so our relationship in the main series isn’t affected and -
Bakugou: WHY ARE MY ARMS BROKEN IN THE SPECIFIC EXACT WAY DEKU’S ARE ALSO BROKEN???
Deku: ...and the status quo can remain!
Bakugou: you know what. I’m not going to question this any further. because i don’t ever want to remember the fact i held hands with a nerd. god i love repressing.
***
Like can you imagine if Horikoshi had gone through with this, what a depressing ending this would be without the reset???. “all that stuff about this being the story of deku becoming the greatest hero lol we pranked you’  I’M GLAD HE CHANGED HIS MIND but also it tickles me that he apparently thought at one point that holding hands with Deku was the ultimate endpoint of Bakugou’s character. I hope in his original plan Bakugou had held hands with everyone else in Class 1A at that point and Deku was the Final Step.
Anyway, ridic contrivances aside it was a fun movie and it was very fun to see it in theatres with everyone very excited and cosplayers and all that. JUST PREPARE TO DRINK IN THE SHONEN, CUZ THEY AIN’T HOLDIN’ BACK.

Tsurune Book 2 Chapter 4-Unsolicited Statement (Part 1)
To all the people who sent me messages the past month: I swear I will answer them tomorrow!
Glossary here
Full list of translations here
Translation Notes
1. The word used here is sanpaku, a Japanese term referring to when the whites above or below the iris are visible. The literal translation here is “having a sanpaku with all his strength” but since that makes no sense I had to do some creative interpretation
2. I believe this refers back to the first chapter of Book 1 when Minato mistakes Masa-san for a ghost or zombie. Yokai has a lot of different meanings (since there’s so many types of them) including ghost or spirit, so that’s why Minato told everyone to forget what he just said,  probably
3. This is a real game. It’s the Japanese version of the Game of Life
4. Minamoto no Tametomo (1139-1170) was a samurai with many legends, such as sinking an entire ship by shooting a single arrow into its hull and having a left arm that was four inches longer than the right one so he had a longer draw
5. If you read/watched Chihayafuru you’ll probably be familiar with the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu, which are one hundred classic poems by one hundred poets.
6. This is poem 77 by Emperor Sutoku. I used the translation here
7. Shugendou is an old religion that combines Shinto, Buddhism, local practices, etc. Apparently they train in mountains a lot
8. Altair and Vega, aka Cowherd and Weaver Girl or Hikoboshi and Orihime, are the two stars involved involved in the Tale of Cowherd and Weaver Girl, which Tanabata is centered around. The tale involves two lovers separated by the Milky Way who could only meet each other on the seventh day of the seventh month by crossing a bridge of magpies
9. You’ve probably seen this in various anime, like MHA, but a cavalry battle or chicken fight is where a team with one person is carried by three people have to take headbands from the other teams
10. The school year in Japan starts in April and ends in March, so anyone born between April and March of the next year would be in the same grade, so even though Ryouhei is born in February he is one year younger than the other boys
11. The original combined guuguu neru (which means sleeping soundly or snoring as you sleep) and schlafen. I debated whether to keep it like that or not before deciding to translate it
12. Egg drop soup is a Chinese dish of chicken broth with wispy beaten egg
13. See Chapter 2 of Book 1 for this incident

Nanao grandly stretched towards the sky that signaled the end of the rainy season.
He was in the corridor on the third floor of the school building. As he walked, girls followed him in succession, and the other students trembled and gave way to them. Thanks to Shuu arriving at Kazemai High School a few days ago, the Nanao Fan Club was not able to admire Nanao in hakama, and they were falling into a state of starvation. Perhaps because of that reaction, he was more surrounded by girls than ever, and the boys, who felt nothing but animosity, made sour faces. However, there was a way to deal with this.
“Thanks for waiting, Kacchan!”
When he opened the classroom door and shouted that, there was Kaito, who made impressive sanpaku eyes. (1)
“I’m not a little kid, so stop coming to get me. We can go to club by ourselves, at least.”
“But Kacchan, weren’t you the one who said not to be late?”
“Good grief, what a pain.”
When Kaito stood from his seat, the girls surrounding Nanao left, scattering in all directions.
The power of the Kaito Barricade was immense. The fact that Kaito won’t sit back when it came to Nanao was a lesson etched into the bodies of those who adored and idolized Nanao. But, because he could also drove away the undesirable suitors—in other words, the girls who were secretly acting before the others—they maintained a reasonable distance as to not wake the sleeping gatekeeper.
How dependable. That kind of skill was not something one resolved to try to learn.
However, Nanao felt a little sorry.
“Nanao. Kaito-kuuun. You guys are early!”
Ryouhei ran up to them with a smile. By chance, he also met up with Minato and Seiya, and so the five walked to the kyudojo together.
Minato, who had a bandage around his left wrist, was chipper, raised his left hand as he was walking and made his tenouchi in mid-air. Similarly, Ryouhei was also pretending to shoot a bow. Seiya and Kaito kept watchful eyes on the two, who were both in a state of impatience for not being able to draw a bow sooner, so they would not get in anyone’s way. It was a charming scene with a fine combination of people, but Nanao’s heart was not there.
Because, recently, there were “footsteps” coming from an empty room in Nanao’s house.
On the second floor, there were sounds, as though a child was running lightly.
——Tap, tap, tap, tap.
Three years ago, they moved to their current house. For their parents, it was their dream home, and for Nanao and his three-years-younger sister, it was a newly built, beautiful home with large bedrooms. Their school districts changed by moving, and he and Kaito ended up going to different middle schools, but the distance between their houses hadn’t changed much and it was a comfortable home.
However, for the past few months it had become possible to hear footsteps. Although they hadn’t been deciding on a time, there were many instances of the inside of the house falling completely silent. It couldn’t be called a boast, but neither Nanao nor his parents had any psychic powers at all. They could not tell any experiences like seeing ghosts or talking to time travellers. And yet, everyone in his family had been hearing those footsteps. Thanks to that, it was a bit scary to stay home alone.
When he talked about it during their break in club practice, the girls covered their mouths with their hands.
“Uwah, scary!”
“Isn’t that really dangerous?”
Seiya mimicked Nanao’s tone.
“…There’s footsteps coming from an empty room, you know? On the second floor, there’re sounds, like a little kid is running lightly… Tap, tap, tap, tap…”
“Stop——!”
“Takehaya-kun, you’re awful—!”
Seiya gave a little chuckle.
“Sorry. But, what is that phenomenon, really? There’s also the possibility of rats, tanukis, or weasels.”
Nanao shook his head.
“Nope. We called someone to check to see whether or not there are small animals settling in the attic, but there was nothing unusual.”
“Is that so, hmm.”
Minato, quietly listening to everyone talk, muttered just a few words.
“A little kid’s footsteps…that sounds like a zashiki-warashi…”
“Zashiki-warashi…that’s the yokai that looks like a child and brings luck to those who see it, right?”
“Ah, no, forget what I said!”
At the word “yokai”, Minato hurriedly withdrew his remark. Beside him, Masa-san was holding back a laugh. (2)
Ryouhei’s eyes were sparkling.
“Awesome! Having a zashiki-warashi live with you is the best. I wanna meet it too! I wish one would come to my place as well.”
Hearing that, Kaito wrinkled his brow.
“Ryouhei, aren’t you no good with spirits?”
“Nah. I hate ghosts, but I like yokai.”
“Once again, the distinction between what you like and don’t like is practically nonexistent. How are they different?”
“They’re completely different. Ghosts are scary, but I want to be friends with yokai.”
“Yeah, I don’t get it at all.”
Next to Kaito, whose brow wrinkle was getting deeper and deeper, Nanao was thinking.
I see, so there is also that kind of explanation. If I think that, then those footsteps aren’t scary.
They’re lucky footsteps.
If that’s the case, let’s warmly welcome our sudden visitor.
A corner of Nanao’s mouth lifted.
The next day, the place Ryouhei headed for was a large estate surrounded by white walls.
Even when standing before the gate, the only thing that could be seen was a single path leading to the forest, and the essential residence could not be seen anywhere. Ryouhei could not hide his surprise at how a place like this was owned by one person.
“What a huge place. I wonder if this is the intercom?”
Ryouhei pressed the button.
“Sorry for how sudden this is. This is Yamanouchi Ryouhei from Kazemai High School speaking. Is Fujiwara Shuu-kun at home?”
“——Please excuse me, but have you made an arrangement with him?”
“No, I haven’t.”
“——I am afraid I must decline visits from those who have not made arrangements beforehand. I am sorry.”
“I understand.”
Ryouhei hummed while he walked along the white wall.
When Shuu returned home that evening, the butler, Toujou, was waiting for him. He seemed somewhat agitated.
“Yamanouchi—Ryouhei came here?”
“Yes. As he had been waiting before the gate for a long time, I allowed him to enter, based on my judgement. Please forgive me.”
“No, it’s no problem.”
“And, there is another matter. To tell the truth, I, Toujou, unintentionally succumbed to my youthful impulses… That young man is quite strong. I was overwhelmingly defeated.”
“Defeated?”
Toujou was speaking in an unusually roundabout way. In the first place, it was the first time he showed in a guest without confirming with him. Shuu opened the door to the guest room.
The room was decorated with a bamboo for Tanabata that was so tall it almost reached the ceiling. A single table was placed in the center of the room, and sitting in front of it was Ryouhei, who grinned at Shuu from ear-to-ear when he noticed him. He could practically see the illusion of a tail wagging back and forth. What’s more, to his surprise, even his little sister Sae and his mother were there.
Shuu felt vertigo and pressed his hand to his forehead.
“Shuu-niisama, welcome home!”
“…What are all of you having so much fun with?”
“It’s a board game, Shuu-niisama. Sae has made a lot of children!”
“Children?”
Sae showed him a Japanese board game with the slogan, “Life has many ups and downs. Aim to be a billionaire!” (3) His grandfather left it to him as a present when he was young. You spun a roulette and advanced your piece by the number of spaces you got, and aimed for the goal indicated on whichever space you landed on. The pieces were in the shape of automobiles, and pins of people were inserted into the seats, but as children were born, the number of pins riding in the car also increased. Sae’s car piece was full.
“Will Shuu-niisama be joining us next?”
“No, please, the four of you should continue on like this.”
At Shuu, who declined, Ryouhei grinned meaningfully.
“In that case, I guess you don’t feel like beating me?”
“…Alright. Let’s do this.”
After the game began, toy banknotes went flying. Thirty minutes later, the winning order was decided with Shuu’s mother in first, followed by Sae, Ryouhei, Toujou, and Shuu. Shuu could not accept himself being in last place, but it felt fresh having those faces surround the table. Afterwards, they played many other games, and then took dinner together. When the meal was finished, Sae was completely attached to Ryouhei.
Ryouhei sat next to Sae on the couch, and showed her something on his phone. It was the figure of Shuu drawing his bow at Kazemai High School.
“Shuu-niisama is so amazing! He looks so heroic!”
“For the Japanese bow, there aren’t only two choices of hitting or missing, and hitting correctly is in itself incredibly hard. Shuu-kun is super amazing. He is already a god.”
Shuu’s mother put a slim finger to her mouth.
“Well, I had thought that getting the highest score comes from hitting the centre of the target…”
Sae grasped Ryouhei’s hand.
“Shuu-niisama doesn’t talk about it at all. He told us not to come and cheer him on.”
“Hey, Sae.”
“Isn’t it okay? Ryouhei-san, could you please give me this picture?”
“Gladly.”
Sae borrowed her mother’s phone and took Shuu’s picture, then gently hugged it close.
“Well then, I also have a gift. Please write on it by time you go home and tie it on the tree.”
A strip of paper for Tanabata was placed in Ryouhei’s hand.
Shuu and Ryouhei moved to Shuu’s room.
The sight of his always prim mother swinging from joy to sorrow was strange and lovely. It had been a long time since he had heard his mother’s laughter from up close.
“Sorry about that, Sae said something unreasonable.”
“Not at all. Your mom is really pretty. As expected of a parent and child, you really look a lot like her.”
Shuu was shocked.
“…Where do you think we are alike?”
“When we were getting in the bath at the hotel we were staying at for the regional tournament, I saw you washing your hair, but I think it’s around the nape of your neck or behind your ears, like, the back of your head.”
“The ‘back of our heads’ are alike…?”
“Yeah, exactly alike. When you and Sae-chan and your mom are together, you really get the sense of, 'This is the bloodline.’”
At Ryouhei, who stated that so definitively, Shuu burst into laughter. Normally, when people said that they were alike, it was their eyes, voice, way of speaking, and other traits like that. That unexpected answer was unbearably funny.
He felt like that even if he and Ryouhei were standing in the same place, the scenery they both saw would be different. Ryouhei’s everyday was brimming with new discoveries, and it was brightly coloured.
“By the way, what kind of business did you have here, Ryouhei?”
“That’s right. I wanted to repay you for lending me your arrow.”
Ryouhei handed him an amulet.
“It’s from a shrine famous for the guardian of sports and Emperor Sutoku, but the god of improvement in kyudo is also enshrined there. My dad had a business trip so I asked him to get me one. You’re also matching with Minato and the other guys.”
“Thank you. This will encourage me.”
Shuu accepted the small pouch.
When it came to historical archery masters, the name of Nasu no Yoichi, who shot through a fan on a ship during the Genpei War, would come foremost to mind, but the person who was deified at the shrine was Minamoto no Tametomo, the eighth son of Tameyoshi and military commander during the Heian era who was said to have used a powerful bow and was unparalleled. Legendary tales of him, such as him being a giant who was over two meters tall and his left arm being longer than his right arm, and that it took five people to string his bow, remained through the ages. (4)
On the other hand, Emperor Sutoku was the seventy-fifth emperor, and famous as one of the poets for the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu. (5)
Though a swift stream is
Divided by a boulder
In its headlong flow,
Though divided, on it rushes,
And at last unites again. (6)
——The flow of a river is swift, and even if it is blocked by a rock and divided, I believe I will definitely meet with you——.
This poem was regarded as a love poem, and it still attracted the hearts of many women even now. It seemed that the feeling of longing for someone remained unchanged in any age.
Thought was humanity itself.
It was something brought into existence by people.
People were always thinking something. They were creatures who could not stop thinking.
Practitioners of Shugendou (7) meditate and become ascetics as a means to suppress the “thoughts” which were brought about by people, in order to reach the level of the gods and Buddha. By casting away worldly thoughts, which were part of a wicked heart, with the chanting of sutras and the relentless sounds of waterfalls, and by being forced to concentrate intensely under the circumstances of being side-by-side with death, one would recall the bodily intuitions which were naturally endowed humans, as living things.
Words were thinking itself. Those who were able to not think of anything without training to do so were probably babies who had yet to learn words, people who were sleeping, and the dead.
Reaching the level of the gods?
Babies and the dead—— ?
The wind that came dancing in from the window blew through Shuu’s and Ryouhei’s hair.
“Ryouhei…I can see it now. I found the hidden door…”
“Hidden door? Where is it?”
“You can also find it. Follow me, I’ll be waiting.”
“Shuu-kun, don’t say difficult things like that. I don’t really understand, but okay.”
Ryouhei laughed lightly, carefreely.
Let’s open that door.
A spiral staircase leading upwards is there.
A staircase that has the same shape as DNA. Inherited memories.
To the place we must aim for.
To where light is shining——.
Before he went home, Ryouhei tied the strip of paper, on which he had written, “Family trip to the southern islands”, to the bamboo.
“Shuu-kun, what did you write?”
“Nothing. Just my name.”
“Oh, so it’s a wish only the other person knows. Mm, I hope it comes true.”
Shuu smiled gently.
In his head, Ryouhei recited the words Sae whispered into his ear when she gave him the paper.
“This is kept a secret from Shuu-niisama, but when you write your wish here, it is not Altair-sama and Vega-sama who grants it, but Father——.” (8)
After his committee meeting, Nanao went to the kyudojo by himself. There were only a few scattered signs of people in the school, probably because most students were either already going to club activities or going home.
With the Nanao Fan Club no longer shadowing him, Nanao regained his everyday life. There were still the sounds of a child’s footsteps at his house, but it was charming if he thought of it as the mischief of a zashiki-warashi. With this, he was able to concentrate on practicing until the national tournament in August.
As he was walking in the hallway with a light gait, some people who were passing by deliberately bumped into him.
They were three third-year boys.
“Oh, sorry. No girls today, Nanao-sama?”
“You’re going to club now? Kyudo doesn’t suit a shallow guy like you at all. Or are you aimin’ for a university sports recommendation spot? Doesn’t seem like you’d have a lot of rivals for kyudo. Maybe I should do it too!”
“What about Kacchan?”
“Kacchaaaan!”
Nanao clenched his fists behind his back before the third-year boys whose faces were distorted in loud laughter.
Don’t say my cousin’s name with your filthy mouths——.
He wanted to say that.
He wanted to punch them hard.
However, if he caused trouble here, he would be playing into his opponents’ hands. If Nanao caused a problem, he would then not be able to go to the national tournament. Because their own activities for their future courses were going badly, they were looking for an unwitting scapegoat. At their cores, they were not dissatisfied with the other person, but irritation at themselves for not being able to study for university entrance exams, even though they thought they must do it.
“Yo, Nanao-chan, why so quiet?”
It happened when one of them roughly grabbed Nanao’s collar, and Nanao glared back at him. Someone ran in from ahead of his field of vision and tackled Nanao.
Ryouhei held Nanao, carried him over his shoulder, and ran away as they were. At this extremely sudden event, the left behind third-year boys stood still, open-mouthed.
Nanao was carried on Ryouhei’s shoulder, folded in half around his waist, until they passed through the hallway.
“…Ryouhei, could you put me down soon? There’s a lot of pressure on my stomach and it hurts, and blood is rushing to my head.”
“Oh, sorry.”
Nanao stretched his body with a sigh after he was dropped onto the ground. He had often been the one to ride on top in cavalry battles (9), but being a high schooler and getting shouldered like a sack of rice was proof that one never knew what was going to happen in life.
After he fixed his disheveled hair, he looked at Ryouhei and saw that he was frowning.
“I went to get something I forgot in the classroom, but does that kind of thing happen a lot? Why did you stay quiet even though they said all that to you?”
“It’s not like I don’t understand their feelings. We were walking in a big group and I guess it was an eyesore. Since a long time ago, I’ve been raved about by girls, which means that I’m trashed by the boys. I guess I’m, like, used to it.”
“Don’t get used to that kind of thing. It makes me sad.”
“Ryouhei…”
“So, I’ll listen instead. Tell me all about it, Nanao.”
Ryouhei’s earnest eyes pierced through Nanao.
The reason why so many people could not refuse Ryouhei’s requests was probably because rather than it being Ryouhei’s own desire, he seemed to have read the other person’s mind. He correctly guessed the hidden wish that the person concerned had not even noticed themselves. And, Ryouhei did not notice it either.
“I see, mm. Alright, then can I complain for a bit?”
Nanao opened his mouth wide.
“If you want to complain, come tell me one by one, not in a group! And, who the hell’s putting trash in my shoe cupboard and desk! Don’t do this sneaky, petty harassment. Don’t freakin’ underestimate me just because I’m short!”
“Yep, yep…hmm? Short?”
“While I’m at it, I’ll tell you this too. Even though you were born after me, why the hell did you grow so much taller! It’s unfair, you know!”
Ryouhei was born in February. (10) He scratched his head.
“I guess it’s because I do bouldering at the community center and I hang down? Also, maybe it’s because I sleep a lot. Since you aren’t conscious when you’re sleeping, the energy used by my brain might have been used for growing.”
“They do say that a sleeping child grows well. I’ll sleep a lot from now on too.”
“Yeah, sleep, sleep!”
“In German, sleeping is ’schlafen’, so combine it with 'snoring’, (11) and let’s call sleeping a lot 'snorefen’.”
“I want to snorefen?”
“Let us snorefen?”
The two clutched their stomachs as they laughed. If Hanazawa, Shiragiku, and Seo were there, they would probably have no idea what was so funny. The dumb conversations of boys were undecipherable codes to girls.
“That’s right, Ryouhei. Listen to one more thing I have to say.”
Nanao winked.
The area, which had undergone land readjustment, brought to mind the image of a Northern European townscape. The roadside trees were still young, and houses with the newest designs stood in rows.
Ryouhei was standing before Nanao’s house. The other Kazemai kyudo boys were also carrying supermarket bags in addition to their own luggage.
Nanao’s parents’ hobby was overseas travel. Moreover, they were free-spirited backpackers who loved budget travelling without knowing their whereabouts. On that day as well, they left without advance notice, and since his sister was staying at a friend’s house, Nanao was staying at home by himself. When Ryouhei heard about that, the first thing that came out of his mouth was,
“Let’s go meet the zashiki-warashi!”
And so, under the guise of a study meeting, this halfway test of courage was held.
Ryouhei tied the strings of his apron and took out foodstuff from the bags. He was responsible for the arrangement of the salad. Minato wrapped dumpling wrappers around the ingredients with practiced movements. Surprisingly, Kaito was also good at wrapping dumplings. Nanao and Seiya finished deep-frying the chicken and making the egg drop soup (12), respectively.
“Seiya, could it be that we’re really good at cooking?”
“Yep. I think we can probably live on our own right away.”
They sat at the table, and then Minato removed the lid of the hot plate. The room was filled with the smell of dumplings. They stretched out their chopsticks as though to say, “Finally!”
“Ittadakimaaaasu. Whoa, it’s really tasty! This is super good!”
Ryouhei was vigorously stuffing his cheeks, and Nanao also looked satisfied.
“How about that fried chicken and dumplings? There’s no way the zashiki-warashi wouldn’t come out if we make it smell such a nice smell, right?”
“Let’s set some aside for it. It’ll be disappointed if we have nothing for it, even though it took the trouble of coming here.”
Kaito spoke.
“You guys actually believe in it? Isn’t it just Nanao being scared?”
“And yet, didn’t you stop coming to my house for a while when you heard about the kid’s footsteps, Kacchan?”
“Shut up,” Kaito said, then gulped down his Oolong tea.
After they finished eating, they played games in the room. Nanao’s house was well-equipped with game consoles ranging from stationary to portable, and the number of games was impressive as well. They took turns entering the bath, and gamed until it was late.
They got tired of talking and soon decided to enter their futons. After they laid out their futons out in the guest room on the first floor, Ryouhei threw himself down, lying spread-eagled.
“The zashiki-warashi didn’t show up at all.”
“We might have been too noisy. If anything, there are lots of times when it’s quiet. I guess it’ll be a game once we enter our futons.”
They lowered their voices and waited for that time to come. However, even after one hour, there was not one sound. Before they knew, all five of them fell asleep.
Suddenly, Ryouhei woke up. He saw that it was still the middle of the night from his phone that was next to his pillow. Nanao, who should have been sleeping next to him, was not there. He wondered if he went to the washroom, but he never returned. Ryouhei left the room that was filled with the sounds of sleep.
He stood down the stairs and saw light coming from the second floor. He climbed the stairs, as though drawn in by the light.
He peeked into the room where the light was coming from, but there was no one there. The window was left open, and the night sky spread out outside the window. Wondering if it was carelessness after all, he entered the room to close the window. When he placed his hand on it, there was a sudden voice.
“Oh, don’t close it.”
When he poked his head out the window, he saw Nanao sitting on the roof of the first floor.
“What are you doing?”
Nanao pointed up at the sky.
“Look, a sky full of stars.”
“Can I join you?”
“Sure.”
Ryouhei sat next to Nanao on the roof. It was chilly and the soles of his feet were cool.
It was a starry night.
A star fell soundlessly.
Moonlit nights were nice, but nights where the moon was hidden were also special. The tiny stars that couldn’t be seen normally twinkled. Words failed him before that beautiful sight.
Ryouhei sighed.
“Is Kacchan sleeping?”
“Yep.”
“Good. He’s the one who’s scared, so I was wondering if he was too afraid to sleep.”
“Nanao, could it be that you’re Kaito’s guardian?”
“What, no way, too much work. Ryouhei, what’s your wish for the zashiki-warashi?”
“A family trip.”
“Ooh, that sounds nice. Like to a hot spring?”
“…My sister is timid, so she can’t leave the house. She’s been shutting herself in our house for a long time.”
“…Huh?”
Ryouhei looked up at the night sky.
“My sister is kind, smart, and athletic—a sister I can really brag about, but apparently there are people who hate that. At the school she transferred to, there was an unspoken understanding to not stand out more than so-and-so, but she didn’t realize that and did her best for everything. That’s why she ended up not going to school anymore.”
“Is that so… That’s terrible.”
“She found the ’Kaeru kerokerote e pero kero’ you taught me really funny. (13) You’re a genius at words that goes down well with her.”
“Well, as expected of the great me.”
“But, sometimes I can’t understand her. She says she doesn’t want to see me, and yet when I leave home for competitions, she orders me to call her… I don’t get her at all.”
“Oh, that’s because she spoils you. I think that if you try talking a bit selfishly to her, she would be relieved… Though if you try to test another person like that, they might leave instead.”
“She spoils me? No way. I’m worried if I did anything to make her hate me, but in the end, I can’t do anything.”
“I don’t think she hates you at all, in fact, I think she loves you. It’s really reassuring to have someone by your side.”
“I wonder about that…”
“You can bet on that, because I said it. Believe in me, 'kay?”
Nanao said, shining brilliantly with his back against the stars.
It was as though he was being told that by a prince. If the girls from the fan club were there, they probably would have swooned.
“Yeah. You’re Nanao-sama, after all.”
“That’s right. And, since you listened to me talk about my stuff the other day, next time, tell me more about anything that’s going on with you, like about your sister.”
“…Okay.”
He was wondering if he really had to talk about his sister, but Nanao listened to him without making fun or turning too serious and gloomy. Minato and Seiya knew about it, and that was precisely why he never mentioned her with them. He wanted the image of her in their minds to be as cool as she used to be.
When I meet with everyone, I’m so happy, I have so much fun, and I can’t help but feel pumped.
Right after the two brought their faces together and smiled, a boy with the face of a Deva king appeared.
“Hey, what the hell are you guys talking about in the middle of the night?”
“Kacchan!”
Kaito crossed over the window frame and sat between Nanao and Ryouhei.
“It’s pretty cold here. You guys need to get to bed soon.”
“But what are you doing, getting up in the middle of the night, Kacchan?”
“The two of you were gone when I woke up, so of course I would have to come and see what’s going on.”
“Pretty sure you woke up because you were scared, though.”
It happened when Nanao squinted.
——Tap, tap, tap, tap.
Footsteps.
The three exchanged glances.
“I could really hear the footsteps! So cool!”
“Isn’t it just someone who got up?” Kaito said.
“No, that’s definitely the sound of a little kid running!” Nanao said.
Ryouhei turned towards the house and placed his hands together.
“Zashiki-warashi-chan, please grant my wish!”
Nanao and Kaito also placed their hands together. Nanao sent a glance at Kaito.
“You have a wish too, Kacchan?”
“No, I’m just doing it because I got dragged into this.”
“Whaaaaat, that’s such a waste.”
“And what are you wishing for?”
“…It’s a secret.”
——Tap, tap, tap, tap.
The footsteps came again.
Right when Nanao and Kaito closed their mouths, somebody’s voice leaked from next door.
“Kou-chan, no running inside the house! It’s the middle of the night!”
The three looked at each other.
——The true identity of the zashiki-warashi is Kou-chan!?
The baby from the house next door, who still couldn’t walk yet when they moved there, had started walking, and it had only been the sound of the baby running around in the house that travelled into the adjoining Nanao’s house. He never knew that sounds from next door could be heard so well in wooden houses.
The three stared at each other for a minute, and then Nanao and Ryouhei burst into laughter, unable to hold it in any longer.
“What the hell were we doing, making our wishes to 'Kou-chan… Isn’t it one in the morning right now? Why is a little kid getting up so late at night?”
“I heard that babies are still bad at sleeping, so they inadvertently go to bed in the evening and get really energetic at night. But I can’t help it, this is too funny…”
Ryouhei couldn’t stop crying from laughter, and Kaito was too amazed to say anything.
In the end, Minato and Seiya also got up, and they also went up to the roof.
The five gazed at the starry sky for a long while.

Mysterylover watches MHA Episode 91: “At Long Last It’s Shinsou Time!”
Tumblr media
1. So we pick up where we left off with Deku’s visions of OFA past. And the cutesy Aoyama scene that followed. For a manger reader sadly the anime does not clear up the “Who are Users 2 and 3″ mystery that wakes me up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night. Much like Deku here.
2. We then cut to some awesome Nana and Young All Might flashbacks. i’m just now realizing that they probably avoided showing Nana in a few of the panels to obscure her quirk while she’s using it.
3. “DON’T MAKE IT SOUND LIKE YOU WERE CHEATING ON ME LOL” Aizawa. I love that translation. Anyway IT’S SHINSOU TIME YA’LL
4. But first WINTER KACCHAN. In color. Encountering the Deku Fanboying. YAS OMG THIS SEASON IS GONNA HAVE SO MUCH BKDK I AM SO HERE FOR IT.
5.Insert  Obligatory “annoying Uraraka crush counter” complaint here. I’ve already complained/meta’d enough about Deku/Ocha and BKDK in this arc in that popular post I did a while back, so let’s just concentrate on the 1b Feels for now.
6. Oh they’re doing all their quirks for Class B here? OR just the names, I see. Right, cause some of the quirks are surprises in later scenes.
7. ENTER SHINSOU nice and dramatically. And lookin’ good here in animation again at long last. And Deku spends like five straight minutes just staring at him smiling. Ready the Shindeku arc.
8. We get then Shinsou feels and flashbacks. OMG it’s finally happening. And !A and B instantly adopt him, with Deku smiling naughtily as before. Anyway rules get explained and teams are lined up.
9. I will now read way too much depth into Iida’s angst over playing ‘hero’ or ‘villain’ and Momo’s subsequent comment that ‘we see ourselves as heroes’.
10. Anyway Kaminari also gets on board the Shinsou fanboy train. Wonder how much more Shinkami fanfic there’s gonna be after this season airs? It’s already like the 10th or 9th most written about in the MHA tag. Kami gets to flirt with him for like five minutes too, as does Monoma. Shinsoubowl ensues.
11. Bones appears to be keeping the spirit of the manga and not letting Deku look at Ochako while she stares at him. LOl I’ll quit it.
12. They’re using similar sound effects here to the ones they used in Season 2 for the Final Exams. Anyway, Round 1! We’re already there and the ep’s not halfway over. Damn I wonder if we’ll finish Round 1 in one episode?
13. I rewatched the Sports Fest recently and I’m noticing that Kami has grown since then. Back then he didn’t want to admit that Shiozaki beat him and here he’s honest about it.
14. Shishida enters with what I thought was Dabi’s theme song of all things. Damn dude being generous with your theme music huh? Hope it doesn’t get appropriated as much as Momo’s and BKDK’s OSTS.
15. YAS SHINSOU’S VOICE CHANGER PERSONA CHORDS. OK that’s where the ep ends. We’ll get the rest of it in Ep 92, that’s more like I expected.
