Hi I saw your fairytale retelling recommendation list and I wanted to ask if you have recommendations for beauty and the beast retellings in particular? Thank you in advance!
Thank you for the ask! I saw your other ask clarifying that you were specifically looking for Fae Beauty and the Beast retellings. I do have a couple that I've read that I can suggest.
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
Curse of the Wolf King by Tessonja Odette
A Deal with the Elf King by Elise Kova
Heart of the Fae by Emma Hamm
An Enchantment of Thorns by Helena Rookwood
I know you weren't asking about nonFae Beauty and the Beast retellings, but here are a couple suggestions anyway because I like them a lot:
Hunted by Meagan Spooner
A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
I hope you find a good read or two out of these suggestions! Let me know!
Also if anyone has any other suggestions, feel free to reblog and add!

I need to read something easy so I picked up A Deal with the Elf King by Elise Kova. Wasn't sure about it at first, but it was fast-paced and interesting enough to keep me listening (on audiobook) and now 17 chapters in I can happily report that it is much better done than ACOTAR, which was boring and confusing and frustrating. Though I haven't finished it yet, so ... we'll see.

if i had a nickel for every time i read a book about a magical girl with heterochromia falling in love with a guy connected to death in some way, I would have two nickels. which isn’t a lot but its weird that it happened twice

Not every book you read has to change your life or be the worst book you've ever read. Sometimes books are just "alright" and there's nothing wrong with that! In this episode, we chat about these "just fine" books. If you stick around, you'll hear us talk about the most interesting woman in the world, our lack of self control in thrift stores, and our crystal meth reads.
Don't have BGE and skip this episode because you're too busy pouting that your crush doesn't like you back... have BPE (Big Peeta Energy) and show up for us no matter what!!

3.5 stars
This was actually a fairly enjoyable, lighthearted little fantasy romance. I struggle with fantasy romances that really put the main focus on the romance because I tend to always want more focus elsewhere or want more depth. I'm really trying to learn to just accept the vibes of books like these to enjoy them better.
I guessed exactly what needed to happen to solve the main problem of the book very early on because it's pretty painfully obvious. However that doesn't really ruin the book. I found the researching bit of her reading the journals and learning about her magic and the experiences of the women before her to be just as important. It does kind of make it a little dull because really a whole fat lot of nothing happens other than reading, healing, and stuff.
I really don't like the worldbuilding in mostly question and answer formula. The other half of it is crammed into very stilted and awkward dialogue that no one would ever say. The actual beginning of this novel was kind of wild and cringe-y but it evens out.
I did like Luella, although she's a tad bit too selfless at times. The Elf King was also good and I liked watching him warm up. I do like that they communicated quite well (again some weird dialogue but not terribly). I thought they were cute and enjoyed the romance. I actually liked Harrow and would have liked to see more of him.
I see how the world is open to other novels and I'd probably read them.
Overall, fairly good.
