and another wild thing from tuesday was vessel doing his thank-you routine after euclid - he got on his knees facing our side of the catwalk and bowed directly in front of where i was stood. DIRECTLY. was in shock tbh and it was over before i could comprehend it - gave him some heart hands with what must have been the most overwhelmed expression on my face, and he returned them which was nice. but holy shit was that real because it can't have been

1: Fresh From The Oven
Possible content warnings: injury to a child, body horror, blood, child abandonment, dismemberment, alcoholism, (technically) homelessness, crying
Word count: 3580
I tripped and fell after stepping through the entryway. My body crumpled to the ground on its side, and I could feel my bones, organs, veins, all of me, ripping apart slowly. I screamed and sobbed, clutching my legs and pressing my face into my knees, before everything seemed to stop, and I felt nothing.
My hands reached up and squeezed at my forearms. Ice cold, with a consistency not unlike mochi. A soft, pastel green. I shivered.
The right arm pressed upwards to my left bicep, and it tasted of fresh, clear mint as the palm touched it. Almost familiar, and comforting.
My hands reached down again, to where the section supported by my lumbar spine should have been. However, when my ribcage ended, there was a gap. The flesh I could see inside the lower half was a deep viridian.
The dress I wore, while ruined, was still soft and fluttering in the soft breeze. I brushed my left hand on the fabric, and then to the bloody woundy. I saw that the skin on my fingertips and outer arm faded into the same dark green. My inner arm, however, was painted like that of my favourite ice cream.
My insides were cold, and soft. My right hand smiled at the mild tickling sensation from its index finger prodding at the wound, but it was only slightly. A light twitch, before returning to a straight line when the tickle morphed into pain.
Sitting up, and then kneeling afterwards, I easily turned my upper body a full 180° to look back at the door. However, it was no longer there. The ebony ground beneath me had been splattered with green, and far off from the field, I could barely see the beginning of a deep purple ocean.
I then stood and spun around, arms up, watching the black skirt attached to my sliced off pelvic area whirl up so high as I danced that it became a flat sheet of fabric around my hips. I wore shorts under it, I noticed. The little twitch became a large grin on my hand, and I laughed, my hair whipping around me. My irises bounced around the hair, and I could see everything. But the moment ended right when it began, and I had to clasp my hands together to stop the right one from vomiting.
Smoothing out my vest and stretching, I once again extended my arms towards the pink sky. It was covered in glistening sparkles. Inky clouds were painted across the blush heavens, and from them fell tiny black snowflakes. My vision was distorted, still twisting and turning. Melting.
Dizzy from the euphoria.
From existing.
My irises were free to roam across my hair then, but I quickly caught them. I pulled the dark tan scrunchies off of my wrists and tied my hair into two spherical buns near the top of my skull.
Focussing on the skyline in front of me, not letting it double again, my ombré fingers tidied the buns, and my pupils aligned. The now ball-shaped eyes looked down, and I realised that my legs were also separate, a good chunk of my upper thighs missing. The inner flesh was that same green, as well as the outer skin, which faded to a darker shade as it moved to my feet.
What remained of my legs were completely bare, except for where the back snow slowly rose in height towards my shins as it fell from the sky. Though for a regular sized person, it would more likely be ankle-deep.
My legs stepped forward, leaving the rest of me behind to float in midair. The right hand huffed and my torso reached down to let my arms grab the free limbs.
Slowly, I dragged myself through the snow, having affixed the legs firmly below my hips. My pelvis also moved independently, and I concentrated hard to keep it aligned with the movements of my torso. I fell once, and then another 300 times.
In the distance were little crayon sketches of blocks and squares. My heart yearned to pull me towards them, but, even though I made it a couple of metres, I collapsed from exhaustion before I could go any further. The warm, dark snow was a bed that stretched out for thousands of miles, and all I wanted was to curl up and sleep for lightyears.
Laying on my back, I stared up at the sky. A pain crawled into my stomach - a sharp, dull ache that tightened my abdomen into knots. I went to rub at it, before remembering that it didn't exist. It never had. I could move my whole arm through the gap in my middle without having to do any magician's manoeuvres. But the sting remained.
“Hey there, young lady-”
The echoed voice was raucous and deep, but I couldn't help but grin when I saw its source. A school of giant black betta fish, which had formed from the clouds, were swimming through the sky above me. It was the one with beady white eyes that had spoken. They bore into my bun eyes as he glided down to the floor, away from his brethren.
"-do you need a hand?”
“Oh, yes, please,” I said, my voice scratchy and quiet, “I don't have a map.”
“You would never need a silly map with me,” he said, “I can fly so high you can see everything; every road, every house, everyone.”
“Amazing! Can I do that too?”
“Not on your own sadly, your soul is way too young. But I can give you a ride on my back, free of charge. It will feel about the same.”
“Thank you,” I beamed and climbed up. The creature took off, and I stared up into the now hot pink sky. Night was almost here. The fish’s scales were fluffy when I rested my hands on them.
“My name is Payekha,” he said.
“That’s nice.”
There were mountains far out, spewing the clouds from their tops. Another school of fish, just born from that cotton candy, smiled at me.
“We only come around here when it snows, so you were lucky to arrive now instead of later.”
The light breeze became a stronger wind, its sound deepening as it smacked my bangs against my featureless face and the fish swam effortlessly through the air.
I looked up into the magenta galaxy, fixating on the glittering sequins which seemed so close then, as we rose above black cotton candy clouds. I stretched as far as I could and grazed my fingertips against one of the nearest stars. It was freezing, yet it burned.
“Would I have died back there?” I wondered out loud as I rested my hand back down on the fish's back, “if you hadn't offered to let me sit on you and carry me through the pink, would I have ceased to exist before my life had even started?”
“Don't dwell on what could have been. We're almost there.”
“That's good,” I said, “I don't want your friends to wait.”
“Oh, that doesn't matter,” said Payekha, “we are all one, in the sky and the ice sheets and the earth. No matter what happens, no matter where we are, we will reunite once the snow melts.”
“I'm happy to hear that.”
I repositioned myself as he continued to fly through the aether, and I realised that the hand I had reached towards the stars had left a glowing white handprint on his fishy fur.
My other hand reached down and rubbed away the remnants of it, my chest tightening. Payekha barely reacted except for a low, barely audible purr. I smiled.
The crayon squares gradually morphed into tall, thin buildings that stretched up so high that it almost seemed like they went on forever, extending past the clouds and stars into whatever sat above. They were still as jagged and disordered as a child's drawing, but they were now made of melded shards of broken glass.
He let me jump off his back, and I slid down the fin that he had laid down onto the sidewalk. I sat there for a moment on the concrete before standing, and turning to face him. He had already begun to fly away.
“Goodbye, Mr Payekha!” I waved, “thank you!”
“Have a good life, kid!" he called back and, as the snowflakes froze into inky raindrops, he melded back into the clouds.
I exhaled through the nostrils on my left palm and turned back around. The skyscrapers glared down at me from their infinitely high horses, and I gulped.
There were vehicles speeding down the iridescent roads, but their swirly windows obstructed my view of the drivers and passengers inside. The serenity of the sky ride was instantly pierced by the trillions of sounds of the city; talking, shrieking, crying, roaring, laughing, dying - they all squeezed at my skull.
Picking a random direction, I pressed my three parts together as tightly as I could, and ran.
-
The sky was a darker pink, but I could see remnants of white and orange on the horizon as the biggest ball of glitter disappeared under it. There were thousands of trees around me, just as tall and spiky as the buildings that had threatened me an hour ago, but they invited me into their arms instead, showing that their intimidating exterior was mostly a defence mechanism. Like capsaicin.
I finally let go of my legs and pelvis, and they flew away from my torso like an uncompressed spring. I squeezed my eyes shut and breathed, slowly walking them back towards me. I moved the three-piece jigsaw back into a floating, loosely completed form.
Opening my double buns again, I realised some of the trees’ branches were soaked in my deep green liquid. Whatever the cause of this was already fizzling out of my memory. The overwhelming smell of mint assaulted any wildlife nearby. Ignoring it, and biting back an apology, I clumsily carried my parts along as I walked deeper into the woods.
It wasn't silent, but no longer noisy. A light breeze travelled through the trees, gentle and kind. The air smelled of blue raspberry.
“Oh dear! No, no no, no! No!” a high pitched squeaky voice echoed from another clump of trees. I could easily hear the cries, and peaked around a branch to see its source.
A little brown penguin-like thing, around my height, was kneeling facing a rock in between the trees; he was using his mouth-flippers, filled with human teeth, to slam two large sticks onto it, hastily scraping them along the stoney surface.
“Not again!”
I stared at the creature for a few seconds, the way his form shook with panic and tears captivating me. I realised that that was perhaps wrong, and my hand cleared its throat.
“...Excuse me, are you okay?”
The boy turned to look at me, his large, bloodshot human eyes instinctively stared at my blank face for a moment, until he then looked up at where my eyes actually were.
“Oh… hello,” his flippers moved with each word, his clearly taped-on beak unmoving, “are you lost too?”
“I don't know,” I said, “I ran from a spiny city just now. It was too noisy.”
“Ah, that's where I live!” his flippers grinned, “is it the way you came? Directly behind you?”
“What were you doing with the sticks?”
“I wanted to call home, I've been here for days.”
“It is the way I came. I was running for a while though, it might take you a long time to get to your parents.”
“Okay,” he nodded, “my name is Andrew.”
“That's nice,” I said again.
“What's yours?”
“I don't know,” I said again.
“Okay,” he said, again, “I like your leaves!”
“My what?”
“Your two leaves,” Andrew got up and poked his left flipper right above my head. It tickled, and I laughed. He grinned, again.
“They smell nice. All of you smells nice actually. Cool, and minty... Ooh, that could be your name!”
“‘Cool, and minty?’”
“No, just ‘Minty’, I mean. It's the colour of your skin too! It's a real name, and it would suit you.”
“Okay,” I, Minty, nodded.
“Can you walk me there please? The journey would be nicer with a friend to talk to.”
“Okay,” I nodded. Again. My right hand took his left flipper.
“Hold on,” he said abruptly, “your hair is loose.”
“Oh,” I felt some of the strands brush against my cheeks, "maybe it would be easier if I had the eyeballs lower, it would be harder for them to be pulled down then.”
“And they won't hit the tops of doorways when you're bigger and stronger,” he agreed.
Andrew gently fiddled with my hair for a minute. The locks fell out a few times and I had to hold back giggles at the child-friendly versions of curse words he whispered under his breath every time the scrunchies fell to the ground. Eventually, my eye-buns were fixed just above my shoulders.
Then, we were off, through the trees, passing velvet red rivers and blue leaves, chatting about nothing. The sky was the darkest pink now, nearly midnight. The glitter still shone.
“It's my first day, you know,” I mentioned at one point, “I came from a flesh door in the evening when the black snow fell.”
“What!” Andy yelled, “oh, I didn't know that! We must hurry then!” He gripped my hand and started running.
“Wait, why?” I tried to keep up with his pace, both of us pausing every once in a while for me to collect my other parts. My legs didn't like each other, and constantly tried to get away, like two North magnets being pressed together.
“You must sign up,” he said, “if you arrive through an entrance, you must get a family assigned to you. It's common courtesy.”
My chest tightened, “I don't want that.’
“Huh?”
“I want to be alone. Biologically, I mean.”
“Stay at my house then,” he insisted, “as a friend. Water, not blood. A very very very very very very long sleepover, maybe?”
“That sounds nice,” I smiled. We continued on. 7 hours later we saw the urban infinity again.
I stayed at Andrew's place for a couple of weeks after that. His parents, a floating 20-sided dice and a pizza man, welcomed me lovingly into their household. I couldn't stand it; it was too foggy, and warm. I felt like an outsider, intruding into a perfect family. Andy had only existed in the Peach Plains for a little over a year when I appeared, and his parents weren't ready for a newcomer, even if they themselves didn't know it. Even if they did love me, as a friend or something else, I knew I couldn't stay.
Hugging Andrew tightly on Movimbar 59th, I left for the woods again. He used to visit me every single day after that, with his parents sometimes accompanying him. We'd eat pizza and play board games for hours and hours. He once told me how he wanted to travel. To photograph real penguins. I told him about selfies.
It then became every other day,
Then every other week,
Then every few months,
And then I never saw him again.
They named me,
Fertilised me,
And sent me on my way to grow.
I hated it.
I regretted leaving their penthouse.
But my deal with the forest had been sealed. I was part of it now.
My thick gloopy tears were the same viridian as my flesh as they flooded the woods.
-
For years I stayed alone in a cottage that had grown around me in a clearing, birthed from the two little leaves floating above my head. From my mind.
Mint flowers sprouted in the bushes in front of the windows of my tiny mind palace, white and purple.
I found a laptop growing from a ginormous apple blossom tree a few couple of years after that. Teal vines connected it to the plant's roots, yet they were long and stretchy enough for me to leave the device on my window sill.
According to the computer, this world was expansive and, oh, so so wonderful. The skies were purple and blue elsewhere, far from my abode, though I still don't know why. There were videos and games to play. And many people. The computer told me how to talk to them, how to make myself loved.
Each day I tried to fly like Payekha, to see it all, but I would fall from the cliffs and lose my parts every time. But I'd never stop. I'll never stop.
7 years after I first walked through the door, I finally began to grow up.
-
University fees were expensive, I knew that much. I wasn't going to get far just lazing in my house everyday. Those things - they'd take me away, to somewhere I'd never come back from.
I began to go back to the glass city, to battle that debilitating terror. I was taller then, all those years later. Though the buildings still towered over my head, they no longer consumed me.
Then it happened, whilst I was standing at a bus stop, waiting to get carried to another end of the almost never ending city at an agonisingly slow pace. The snow had returned, deeper than ever, and the sky was a pastel pink.
Over the years I had managed to scavenge, collecting supplies from across the woods and fields. I learned how to create items of clothing other than the ruined black dress that welcomed me here. I pulled what I was wearing at that moment, a beanie and sweater vest, closer to my freezing skin.
My mind had wandered at some point, leaving the trisected body floating. Hours passed, it felt like, but eventually a familiar voice boomed above me.
“It's nice to see you again, kid.”
I gasped, shaken out of my trance, and looked up, seeing Payekha floating down to my level once again. A grin took over my right hand.
“Oh, hello!” I waved the same way I did last time I saw him, but my voice was higher, thanks to the tutorials, “I forgot the snow brings you here.”
“Yes,” he said, “you look like you've been waiting here for a while. Would you like another ride, like the one on your first day here?”
“Do I have to pay this time?” I grinned.
“Nah, I'll put it on your tab.”
My body clambered back up onto him, yet with less effort than the first time. He was just as soft as when I was newly born, and just as gentle. I almost fell once during my climb, when one of my hands failed to get a good grip on the scales. Before I could tumble to the ground, however, his fin was cradling my body, calmly setting me on him.
“Did you pick a name for yourself?” he had questioned later, as a form of small talk during the ride, right as we almost reached the stars once again.
“I'm… the name is- it's Minty.”
“Ah, that's good. It fits you well.”
“I'm looking for a job right now,” I changed the subject quickly, “but I can't find any businesses hiring near me. I don't want to get thrown out of my home...”
“How long has it been since you arrived? I don't have a calendar or a sense of the passage of time.”
“Er… 21 years, I think?”
“Hmm,” the fish thought for a moment, “I might know a place. Hold on tight.”
Before my hand could inhale we were speeding across the sky hundreds of times faster than in the trip I took. I barely blinked twice and we were at a completely different part of the city. The buildings were now short and stout and, directly in front of me, one stood out.
WaterWorks.
It was shorter and stouter than all the other buildings. The neon yellow sign was larger than the actual structure, yet it was crooked and the second W was barely hanging on.
“What's this?” I questioned as I slid off of Payekha’s back.
“You said you're 21, correct?”
“Yes?”
He didn't respond, so I brainstormed an answer in the silence for a short while, but right before I had my eureka moment a creature came stumbling out of the door, its jelly wings torn to pieces and frothing at the mouth. It collapsed to the ground and disappeared into a drain in the road.
“...Oh, it's that pub from the PeoLeo ad,” I craned my neck up to look into his beady eyes, “didn't someone get murdered here a couple of years ago?”
Payekha didn't seem fazed, “I'm sure you can handle it.”
I nodded silently and couldn't help but glance at the sewer that that inebriate had vanished to. Shiny light blue fragments of them had stuck to the drain’s metal bars.
We stood there, silent, before I finally realised. I perked up and rotated my eyes to look at Payekha.
“Wait, I don't have a-”
He was gone.
“-résumé… yet…”
Sighing, I looked back at the inn. Inside, I could hear all of the sounds of the city amplified by at least 1,000, especially the screaming. Not knowing why, I knelt down and scooped up a small amount of the sot’s blue jelly with my hand and shoved it into my hat before walking inside.

Pairing: George Weasley x reader Warning: NSFW! daddy kink, dom/sub, unprotected sex, thigh riding, dirty talk, spanking, slight degradation, crying kink?, cock warming, swearing, mention of alcohol.  Summary: Y/N wants to make George jealous.  Taglist: @hufflepuff5972 @inglourious-imagines @georgeweasleyswhre @horrorxweasley @amourtentiaa @anxiousblanketqueen send me an ask if you would like to be added  ——————————————————————————————————
You were playing a dangerous game and you knew it, flirting with another man only metres away from George. The two of you had arrived to the party separately, George not wanting anyone to be suspicious of your ‘relationship’ if you walked in together. You weren’t really sure what you and George were, you had been fucking each other for a few months but George was adamant on keeping it a secret. Something about why should everyone know about our business?’ and to be honest at the beginning you were happy with that. Your friends were nosy people and would definitely not stop asking questions if they knew about you and George.
So you went along with the late night visits to George’s apartment to have sex on the counter or the shower (honestly anywhere) and leave before sunrise, and quickly sucking his dick in the club bathroom before anyone of your friends would notice your absence and even letting him rub your clit at the dinner table surrounded by all your friends, none of them the wiser. You went along with it all because having even a fraction of George even if it was hidden from prying eyes was better than nothing at all.
But 4 months into your ‘relationship’ you’ve had enough. You wanted everything from George. You wanted lunch dates and walks in the park and snogging on the dance floor drunk for everyone to see. You wanted to be able to walk into a party holding George’s hand, so all the pretty girls knew this man was taken, by you and no one else could have him.
Blame it on the alcohol or the confidence this short silk dress was giving you, but somehow you decided that George needed a little nudge into growing some balls and hopefully taking this relationship to the next level. And what better way than to ignore George all night and flirt with another man to make him jealous?
You were currently chatting to handsome man with tanned skin and dark curly hair, who’s name you didn’t care to remember. He was good looking, a navy suit stretched across his figure made his biceps noticeable whenever he flexed and the maroon tie which say snuggly around his neck made your eyes dart to his Adam’s apple whenever he swallowed.
Out of the corner of your eye you spotted George falling right into your trap, he was blatantly ignoring whoever he was talking to and just watching you. You snap your attention back to Mark? Michael? Or was his name Matthew? He had just finished telling some story that you figured was meant to be funny so you lean your head back and let an obnoxious laugh knowing George is not only watching but he can hear you too.
“Oh my god, you’re hilarious you know? Funniest guy I’ve ever met,” your dainty hand wraps around the man’s bicep giving it a light squeeze before finishing the rest of your champagne and placing it on a nearby table. “Do you want to dance?”
The man nods and you lead the way to the dance floor making sure to stay on George’s line of vision. The dance floor is filled with people, mostly of groups of friends dancing together but some couples were scattered around, grinding on each other suggestively probably hoping to get lucky that night. You take inspiration from the horny couples and turn your back so it’s facing the man’s chest and begin swaying your hips. He rests his hands on your hips as you both dance together.
Your thoughts are clouded by a certain redhead, like they normally are. You can’t help but notice the way the man behind you doesn’t at all feel like George. His grip on your hips feels wrong, his hot breath on your neck is uncomfortable, his hard chest pressed against your back definitely does not feel like George. You close your eyes and imagine that it’s George dancing behind you. You imagine his large veiny hands gripping your hips tightly enough to leave bruises, you imagine all the sinful words he’d mumble into your ear as arousal pools in between your legs. You imagine his hard cock pressing into your back when you grind into it and how he’d growl in your ear telling you to behave.
Your daydream is interrupted by a rough hand wrapping around your wrist and pulling you through the crowd of sweaty dancers. You don’t need to look up at the red mop of hair to know it’s George and you can tell from his tense shoulders that he’s angry. Perfect.
The taxi ride to George’s apartment is eerily silent, you don’t dare to speak and George stares angrily out the window while his hand rests on your thigh possessively. Your pussy throbs with arousal at the fantasy of how your night will end. The taxi stops out the front of George’s place and he throws the driver a heap of cash muttering for him to keep the change before letting go of your thigh and allowing you both to exit the car.
It’s not until the two of you are standing in George’s bedroom does he break the deafening silence. “Don’t think you’re getting away with that little stunt, bunny. Strip.” His voice is dripping with irritation as he sits down on the edge of the bed facing you, his gaze burning holes in your body.
With trembling hands, you peel away the silk dress from your body and let it pool at your feet, leaving you bare and exposed due to your lack of bra and underwear. George groans under his breath at the sight of you naked in front of him. His eyes examine your smooth skin, the rise of your chest as you breath in shakily, your breasts are perky waiting to be touched, your nipples are hard and erect, screaming to be pinched and played with, his eyes scan down past your stomach and he notices the way you rub your thighs together, trying to create some friction.
You part you lips slightly, feeling extremely nervous under George’s intense gaze, “George I-“
“Shut your fucking mouth.” He cuts you off abruptly. “You don’t get to fucking speak unless I tell you. You were acting like a little desperate slut tonight, darling.” His eyes connect with yours; the normal caring glint which occupied George’s eyes were replaced with a darker more sinister look. “Thought you could just flirt with some random bloke in front of me and grind that pretty little arse of yours on him for everyone to see. So fucking desperate you are. It’s pathetic.” His words go straight to your core and you’re craving George’s hands on you or his lips or tongue, you’ll take anything.
“I think,” he leans his hands against the soft material of the bed behind him, “you need to be punished for your behaviour tonight bunny. Don’t you?” You meekly nod your head. George tuts at your response. “Words baby. Use that pretty little mouth and tell me.”
“Yes daddy, I need to be punished.”
“Good girl,” George motions to his lap, “come here bunny. Lay across daddy’s lap for me.”
You slowly make your way across the room, kicking off your high heels in the process and lay gently across George’s lap on your stomach, your face resting against the mattress awaiting George’s next move. You tense when you feel his rough hand massage your arse checks, your heartbeat quickens inside your chest thinking about what he’s about to do. A gasp slips past your lips the second George’s large hand connects with your bum with a wack. “Can’t believe that tosser got to feel your perfect arse pressed against him,” another wack, “bet he was hard for you,” wack. “I bet you could feel his cock against your back when you were grinding onto him,” wack. “You’re such a dirty little slut, I’m sure you liked feeling his dick against you,” wack. “Did you bunny? Did you like having his hard dick pressed against your arse as you rubbed on him? Hmm?” wack.
There’s tears springing in the corner of your eyes from the pain radiating from George’s hard slaps, you shake your head, “no daddy, didn’t like it. Wanted it to be you.” George lands another hard hit to your arse and you bite your lip trying to suppress a moan.
“Yeah? If you didn’t like it then why did you grind your arse on him then?” George massages the red skin of your arse, soothing the skin, waiting for your answer. You both knew why you were dancing suggestively against that man at the party, you just didn’t want to say it out loud. George growing frustrated with your silence connects 2 more slaps to your bum. “Tell me.” He grits through his teeth.
“I wanted to make you jealous.” You mumble into the sheets beneath you.
George hums, “you made me jealous alright, no one gets to fucking touch you like that. Only me.”
You nod in agreement, “only you daddy, please I’m so sorry.”
George lifts your hips and you sit up to straddle his lap wincing slightly from the burning pain shooting across your bum as you sit down. His hands cup your face, gently brushing away the stray tears that have fallen from your eyes. “That’s right; your cunt, that sweet little arse and that pretty mouth belong to me. No one else. Mine.”
George pushes his lips to yours and you moan into his mouth. You snake you fingers through his thick hair, desperately trying to pull him closer, even though you’re sitting on his lap he still feels too far away. You can feel his hard cock straining under his clothes when you brush your hips against his. You whimper into his mouth at the feeling. “You’re such a needy little thing bunny. Rutting against me trying to get off. You wanna come baby girl?”
You nod your head quickly, steadily dragging your soaking pussy against him. George lifts you up and positions you so your legs are on either side of his thigh. “Okay princess. Use my thigh then. Rub your sweet cunt on my thigh till you fall apart.”
Your face warms up feeling slightly self-conscious. George is still fully clothed in his expensive suit and asking you to rut against his thigh while you’re completely naked. George holds onto your hips encouraging you to move, a moan escaping from your mouth when the rough fabric of his pants graze against your clit. “There you go bunny. Feels good doesn’t it?” His hands don’t leave their position on your waist as you start to grind yourself against his thigh. Your whiney moans get louder and louder when that familiar feeling of arousal pools in your belly.
“Fuck, fuck.” Your head rolls to the side giving George access to suck on your neck, harshly nipping at the skin.
“My dirty little whore has a dirty mouth. Look at you fucking yourself on my thigh, bunny. Such a whore for me, daddy’s little whore.” George thinks his dick might rip through his pants with how hard he is. He can feel your juices soaking into his pants and the breathy moans leaving your lips are absolutely sinful.
“I’m your whore, daddy. Only yours.” You quicken your pace on the brink of your climax, you squeeze your eyes closed tightly trying not to fall apart. When you and George have sex, he doesn’t let you come without his permission and you don’t want to make him angrier tonight. “Close, I’m close daddy.”
George moves his head away from your neck to look at you; your mouth is agape, eyes screwed tight and brows furrowed trying not to come undone just yet. George thinks his favourite thing is watching you let go, he loves the way you look when you orgasm. “go on bunny. Come for daddy.” As soon as those words leave George’s mouth, the coil in your belly snaps and you’re realising all over his thigh. A trail of curse words falling off your tongue.
Once you come down from your high, George is laying you on down on the mattress then standing up to rid himself of his clothes. Your eyes already feel heavy from the pleasure, but you force yourself to watch him undress. You watch the way his fingers delicately unbutton his dress shirt and how the muscles in his shoulders move when he shrugs off the material. You watch hungrily when he discards his suit pants and boxers, watching at how his angry cock springs up when realised from his confinements. You’re practically drooling when George crawls on top of you, his forearms resting on either side of your head, trapping you.
“Careful bunny, you could catch flies with that mouth,” George smirks his index finger tracing your jaw, your quickly shut your mouth, stopping yourself from rolling your eyes. George stays in that position, his lone finger moving painfully slow against your hot sweaty skin. His finger moves down your neck, barely grazing the skin before inching down your stomach and closer to your core. Just when you think he’ll touch you where you want him most his finger travels back up your body, a frustrated sigh leaves your lips.
“Tell me, princess,” Georges finger skims against your lips, “who do these lips belong to?”
“You daddy.”
His finger leaves a trail of goose bumps and your breath hitches when his swirls his digit around your nipple, “who do these belong to?”
“You daddy.”
It takes an eternity for George’s finger to travel back down your body before they stop at your pubic bone. “And tell me,” he moves his finger down until its hovering over your clit, barely touching it, “who does this belong to?”
It takes everything in you not to buck your hips up into his hand, you look up into George’s brown eyes that are filled with arousal much like your own. You hope George understand the sincerity behind your words “you daddy. Only you.”
And with that George connects his fingers with your already sensitive bud circling and rubbing it. A sob escapes your lips and your head falls back into the pillows beneath you. “No one gets to touch you like this bunny.”
You’re whimpering and whining underneath George, you’re mind foggy from the pleasure that only George can give you. You start to grind your hips into George’s fingers, wanting more. “Please, more, please-”
“What? What do you want darling?” George asks condescendingly.
You’re lifting your hips to meet George’s fingers, “please daddy, need your cock. Please, please, please.”
If George wasn’t so desperate to be inside you, he would have teased you, asked you to beg more or maybe he’d make you come with just his fingers and then his mouth before even thinking about giving you his cock. But George has been painfully hard inside his trousers since the moment he saw you on the dance floor with that other guy. He doesn’t think he has the patience to wait a second longer. So he doesn’t, he strokes his length a few times before pushing into your dripping cunt. George doesn’t stop until his dick is fully inside you, his head rests against your shoulder as he waits for you to adjust to his size. “Fucking hell bunny, you’re so tight for me. Your pussy is eating my dick so well.”
You dig your fingers into George’s shoulders and wrap your legs around his waist encouraging him to keep moving. “God, please. I need you to move.”
George pulls back until his cock is almost completely out before snapping his hips back into you harshly, he sets a relentless pace and your eyes roll back into your head from the pleasure. The room is filled with both of your moans and the sound of skin slapping together. The tip of George’s cock is hitting your g-spot with each thrust causing a loud cry to leave your lips. George is groaning into your neck whispering huskily about how much of a good girl you’re being for him. Your nails are scratching into the skin on his back while the band inside your stomach starts to tighten, tears stream down your face when George’s thumb attaches to your clit once more.
“d-daddy, please I’m gonna come,” you feel George shake his head against your neck. “No,” he growls, “hold it.”
The headboard is squeaking and knocking into the wall from George’s hard thrusts, you can feel more tears leaking from your eyes as you try to hold off on your orgasm. “Daddy please, I can’t. It’s too much.”
George rubs his thumb in circles against your sensitive clit, he can feel your pussy tighten around his cock. His hot breath fanning your neck. “Yes, you can. Bunny don’t you dare come until I say so.”
The tightening inside your stomach builds and builds until you feel like you’re going to explode. You’re trying desperately to hold off; wanting, needing to be a good girl for George. You know George likes it when you two come at the same time, so you decide to help get him to his realise quicker. You clench tightly around his cock and hear him groan deeply into your ear, “fuck daddy, feels so good. Only you can make me feel this good daddy. No one else. I’m yours.”
“Mine, all mine,” he utters against your skin. “Okay baby – fuck. Want you to come all over my cock.”
You feel George release his load deep inside of you as you scream his name, clenching and tightening around him as you come also. George is uttering mine, mine, mine into your ear while you respond with yours, yours, yours. The both of you are sweaty and hot and panting, neither moving from your current position as you try to steady your breathing. After a few minutes you feel George start to shift about to pull out of you, you tighten your arms around him and shake your head. “No, wanna feel you still.”
He shifts to lay on his back carefully manoeuvring you to rest against his chest. You close your eyes and sigh contently, enjoying the feeling of George’s cock still inside you. George runs his fingers through your hair, smoothing it down before he speaks so quietly you think you might be imagining it. “I want you all to myself.”
“Hmm?” You roll your head to look up at him.
“I want you all to myself,” George declares louder. “I don’t want to hide this-us anymore. I want everyone to know you’re mine and I’m yours. I want you. All of you.”
A large grin erupts on your face at George’s words, “I want all of you too Georgie.”
The both of you groan as you move your body to catch his lips in a kiss, you feel him twitch inside of you. “You keep moving like that baby and you’ll have to get ready for round two.”
You smirk up at him and wiggle your hips and purposely clench around him, “okay bet.”

The beach part 2
We were excited planning the beach resort getaway, we didnt know at the time what it would be like but had heard some good reviews and it was adults only which added a curiosity thrill and a promise of a 2km secluded and private beaches. It had been a few days since my husband and I had done anything sexual due to work and having other things going on. By the time we got into bed we were both too tired to do anything. Both of us would be asleep or just not in the mood once we hit bed. I was feeling a little frustrated and given the fact we were heading to the beach soon, I thought I'd surprise him and wear a thong bikini. I have worn bikinis in public but at that point never a thong bikini, but it just felt the right place to try it out.  As I rummaged through my draw I came across a white g-string/thong bikini I had bought as a real surprise for my husband and I had planned on taking them when we next went away or when we ventured further up the beach away from crowds and so I was yet to wear them. To keep them a surprise though, I put my normal black one piece in as well.
Arriving at the resort the next day it was nice but seemed quite quiet, we didnt really mind as we just planned to enjoy the beach and the pool later, we dropped our bags off in the room and headed down to the beach, there were different paths to different parts of the beach, we picked one and it was remote with no one else around. My husband was happy with the way the surf looked and so we grabbed our stuff and headed down onto the beach.
As usual, my husband put some oil on my back and shoulders and then proceeded to grab his board and walk down to the water. I started off on my usual walk along the beach. As I walked I noticed that there really weren't many people on the beach at all and I thought it might be a great opportunity to wear the white thong bikini.
When I returned from my walk my husband was still surfing and I needed a swim. I wrapped a sarong around myself as I removed my shorts and put on the g-string. I removed the sarong but suddenly felt nearly naked so I grabbed the one-piece and put it on over the top. I walked down the beach and as I reached the water, my husband caught a wave and came in towards me. He walked up the beach a little and put his board down before coming back down and joining me. The water was refreshing after my walk yet not too cold that I wanted to get out. We swam about, splashed each other, laughed, and just enjoyed each others company.
When we started to cuddle and kiss I felt my husband getting hard. I suggested we head up to the towels. As we walked I looked both directions and there was only another couple way up the beach from us. I dried myself briefly and then laid my towel out. My husband had just laid his towel straight out and was already lying on his stomach watching me. As I removed the shoulder straps of the one piece he smiled. I told him I wanted to get some sun and he commented on the new bikini top. I left the one piece pushed down around my waist like a bikini bottom and laid down on my towel. We both just enjoyed the warmth of the sun. After a few minutes my husband turned to face away from me. I took the opportunity to remove my one piece all together and then unclasped my bikini top. I then asked my husband to apply some more oil as I lay back on my towel on my stomach. "Wow! Very nice babe!" my husband exclaimed. I felt his hands on my back rubbing the oil in. Always his most attention being on my ass as his hands moved down over my arse cheeks. It felt very nice as he continued right down my legs and back up over my ass again.
I reached back with one arm and found his leg, and I ran my hand up and over his shorts to his crotch. He was very hard to say the least. "A bit uncomfortable are we?" I smirked. He simply pulled my hand away with one hand and pulled at the leg of his shorts with the other. With a bit of effort, he pulled his cock out of his speedos and placed my hand back on his cock. "Not here!" I quickly said as I pulled my hand off his cock. I propped myself up and looked up and down the beach. "No-one is around. The closest couple is way up there. They won't see anything. Just let yourself go!" He replied and before I noticed that my bikini top was still on my towel. He quickly reached under me to cup my breast that had been hanging freely. His action caused me to quickly lower myself back down as I realised what had happened. He was gently squeezing my breast in his hand as he continued to encourage me to just have fun. I was still hesitant but I was certainly aroused enough and I did desperately want some relief so I shifted a little which allowed him to move his hands. His fingers brushed my nipple sending shivers through my body. He gently took my nipple between his fingers and ever so slightly squeezed. That was it. I was gone.
I turned to face him, giving him access to my breasts and he took the invitation. As his hands ran over and around my breasts, I fumbled to untie his shorts and pull them down a little. His cock was the hardest I had ever seen and as I gripped it in my hand I heard him gasp. I then pulled at him and he moved up closer to my head. "You had better keep an eye out!" I firmly told him as I moved to lick the head of his cock. "I will." He whispered and with that I took his cock into my mouth. After a minute or so of sucking and licking his cock, I felt one of his hands sliding down my body. I shifted my legs apart a little and then felt his fingers trail over my pussy on the outside of my bikini bottom. It was like a small electric shock. I couldn't help but push towards his hand. After he had rubbed my pussy through the material of bikini, I then felt his fingers pushing along the edge of my bikini. With a small effort, his fingers were then running through my pussy lips. I was so aroused. I had stopped my attention on his cock and was focusing on my pleasure.
He then stopped, he moved to be down between my legs and my pleasure was soon multiplied ten-fold as he began licking my pussy. I pulled the material aside and just lay there lost in a wave of sheer pleasure. However after a couple of minutes I just wanted him to fuck me. "Fuck me right here, right now!" I exclaimed and so while I removed my g-string all together, my husband stood up and removed his shorts. Standing naked in front of me I just admired his body but then reached out for him. He remained standing for some time looking up and down my body and the position I was in, naked on my towel with my legs spread and stretching my arms towards him. I must have been a sight. He was also taking in and teasing my desperation. He then knelt down between my legs and I gripped his cock and guided it towards my pussy. Although he tried to take it slow, I was having none of that and wrapped my legs around him and pulled him in. He then stayed buried deep inside me and would not slide back. He was trying to control himself. I released my legs and he pulled back and slipped out. I decided to take control myself and rolled him over. He loves me on top especially when I sit up to ride him. So he was more than happy to allow me to do this. He watched as I again guided his cock into me and I made sure to slowly ease down it for him.
I went from riding to sitting and rocking and back to riding, allowing him to control partly but also building my own orgasm. I then got to the stage where I wanted to cum and started riding and not allowing him to stop me. I knew I was running a thin line with him about to cum but I also thought I was close enough. All of a sudden he pulled me down onto him. My breasts squashed against him and he thrust his cock in hard. Although I tried to get myself there too, I knew I'd lost. He was cumming. I lay there on top of him and I could feel his cock softening and then slip out of me.
Then I thought about my own orgasm and how close I had been. I thought that if was lucky I might get him hard enough to go again. With that, I started to slowly slide back and forth on him. I sat up, leaning forwards so my breasts hung over him and brushed his chest and started to grind my hips down on him as I slid back and forth along his cock. I could feel him slowly getting harder and I knew I would feel him inside me again. I took the opportunity to sit back up and glanced up and down the beach. No-one was anywhere nearby, so I told him to fuck me again. This time however, I wanted it doggy.
My husband stood up and I got on my hands and knees, I lowered my head to the towel and stuck my ass up, then felt him rubbing his cock against my pussy before sliding into me. He held my hips and I was pushing back to meet his every thrust and within no time at all, I was again very close to cumming. I lifted my head and opened my eyes to take in the fact that I was fucking on the beach out in the open. There, standing no more than ten metres away, right in front of me, was a man. I had become so caught up that I didn't hear him or see him approach. I froze and didn't know what to do. I was so close to orgasm and desperately wanted to cum but I was so embarrassed at someone seeing me like that. I looked back at my husband wondering why he hadn't stopped or even said anything. My husband was looking at the guy and then he looked at me then back at the guy. Instead, he just kept going. I looked back to the guy and it was only then that I noticed what he was doing. He had his cock in his hand and he was masturbating. I can't say whether it was a result of his actions or because of the situation I was in, but I suddenly felt so aroused and my orgasm building fast. I then remembered what my husband had said earlier, "Just let go." I thought what the hell, he's right and this guy has already seen us going at it, he might as well see us finish.
With that thought, I proceeded to push my hips back against my husband as I watched this stranger wanking his cock. The stranger, sensing my new found relaxation moved closer. With me watching him, he removed his shorts was standing naked in front of me. He took another step forwards. He got to within a metre or so of me and then got down on his knees. He was stroking his cock right in front of me as if testing the water. With me not giving him a negative response, he eased a little closer. I was still embarrassed yet extremely excited and therefore I couldn't do more to respond than lick my dry lips. He shuffled further still until he pushed his cock down to brush it against my face. I kind of just froze and he repeated the motion and brushed it against my face again. Instinctively I licked at it as he slowly drew it across my lips. I looked up at him and as he held his cock still, I opened my mouth and took him in.
It must have been just a natural motion for me but I began pushing back and forth on my husband and taking the strangers cock in and out of my mouth at the same time. At that moment I felt my husband pull my hard against him and his cock pulsed. This was enough to send me over the edge too. I stopped sucking on the stranger and just let myself float off in a wave of immense pleasure. As my orgasm subsided, my husband pulled out. I was worried that he'd let the stranger fuck me but instead he got me to kneel up. I looked up and down the beach and saw no-one. The stranger stood up and moved so I could suck his cock again. I had only sucked his cock for a short time when he pulled away. He grabbed his cock and jerked it right at my breasts. His first pulse of cum landed above my breasts. The next splashed between them and as I pushed my breasts together, the next couple just landed on my breasts.
It was then that I became a little embarrassed again and very self conscious. Even though I was still on a high thinking about the fact that I had willingly just allowed a stranger to not only cum on me but that I had sucked his cock right there on a beach in front of my husband . The thought of it was arousing me again. Yet I was worried that both my husband and the stranger would be judging me now. As I stood up and reached for my sarong the stranger spoke. "Sorry. I just saw you two caught up in a passionate moment. You looked so hot together and I just could not help but watch." He was very quiet as he spoke. I didn't know where to look. I was still feeling embarrassed. As I bent over the bag of belongings looking for something to wipe the stranger's cum that was now running down my stomach from my breasts, I felt my husband hands on my shoulders. He urged me upright and pulled me into him. He then kissed me very passionately.
I felt the sarong being pulled away and turned my head to see the stranger standing right there behind me.My husband then turned me around to face the stranger. I covered myself as best I could. I could feel my arms and hands' sliding over the stranger's cum that I hadn't had the chance to wipe off. My husband was now behind me and he gently grabbed hold of my arms and slowly pulled them away from my stomach and breasts. At first I didn't allow it, then I felt his hard cock pressing against me and I simply gave in, letting him expose me to the stranger. As my husband held my arms up and away from my body, the stranger stepped closer. He went to kiss my neck but my husband was already doing so on the other side and so the stranger went for my breasts. The feeling of one man kissing my neck while another kissed and licked my nipples was unbelievable.
After a short time, my husband turned me around. He again kissed me but this time I had the stranger's hands running up and down my body. I stepped away from him a little to allow the stranger access to my breasts, an invitation he understood and accepted. As the stranger cupped my breasts, my husband started to step back a little and pushed me down. I knew what he wanted so I took his cock into my mouth. As I sucked his cock I felt the stranger running his fingers down my stomach towards my pussy. I took a breath and widened my stance. This gave him access and he gently ran his fingers all around, over and finally through my pussy before slipping a finger in. Once again I became caught up in the experience and didn't notice straight away when the stranger stopped. Tom held my head down so I would keep working on his on his cock and before I could say anything, the stranger had his cock in my pussy.
The stranger grabbed my hips and started slowly pulling and pushing me. He was controlling the movements and he had me in heaven. It was either the angle he got as he slid in or the fact that the head of his cock was a bit wider than my husband but it was with each slowly push into me that had my legs weakening. The stranger must have sensed this because he really concentrated on the control and speed of the thrust forward and gave me one hell of an orgasm. I grabbed hold of my husband waist and the stranger held mine as I bucked and writhed as my orgasm took total control of me.
I fell forward and onto the sand. I was still on my knees when I was pushed forward. I knew what was happening and was all for it. The stranger positioned behind me and slid back into my still sensitive pussy. He didn't care for that now though as he started thrusting into me. I looked up at my husband but he had already moved just as the stranger pushed in as far as he could and pulled my hips back thrusting him further still. With that he came and I watched my husband as he watched the stranger filling me with cum. I then just lent forward and lay my head on the towel again while the stranger slowly finished and pulled out. Without warning though, my husband was then positioning himself and started sliding his cock into me. No more than five or six thrusts and he was cumming.
By the time my husband pulled out and I re-orientated myself and got up, the stranger had disappeared into the dunes behind us. I was standing there with my sarong wrapped around me and cum running down my leg. I took my one piece and walked down to the water. I walked out deep enough to clean up and then put my swimsuit on. As I walked back to my husband I couldn't help but smile and laugh. "Wow!" That was all both of us could muster at the time.
During the walk back to our hotel room we spoke about and described the whole scene over and over again. My husband told me how much he loved seeing the guy cumming on me but then when he actually witnessed the guy not only fucking me but cumming in me, it was one of the hottest things he had seen. I must admit, it was extremely arousing for me too and probably the hottest thing I've ever done on the spur of the moment.

Birmingham’s gelid air hit your sensitive skin with no mercy as soon as your red mary-janes crossed the doorway of the Garrison, only to disgracefully sink into the greyish muddy loam in which the whole of Small Heath seemed to be covered.
Your fingers felt like rigid appendages burdening your already wearied arms, while you tried your best to wrap them around your coat’s edges, in a disperate effort to keep that warm tissue on your bulging clavicles left exposed by the woollen dress you were wearing. No matter how many heavy clothes you decided to put on, that implacable cold still succeeded in making you feel constantly out of forces, debilitated to the core; it had always been that way, since you were nothing more than a little girl obliged to spend one every two months confined in your bedroom, afflicted by incredibly high fever and sometimes even bronchitis.
Truth was that your body had never got used to England’s humid weather, yet, even though you poor healt had previously put you in danger, for your sake, thanks to the enormous progresses made by medicine in the past fifteen years, it was now easy to fight against the ruthless chill of those endless winters. Plus, since the earliest days of your attendence, your wardrobe had been perpetually refreshed with high-quality pieces perfectly in step with the times, for your fiancée had been literally covering you in furs and duvets of all kinds, concerned as he was that you could’ve eventually caught another bad fever, whose deathly consequences he had already experienced on his own thick skin. And for no reason in the world he would’ve even risked to lose you too.
So, as everybody could’ve easily predicted, Thomas was perennially paying attention to your wellbeing: the most famous specialists from inside and outside the United Kingdom had come directly to your country house; if one thing could be taken for granted, it was that your medications would always be settled on your side cabinet, together with a glass of fresh water, every day and every night; and, come hell or high water, he would accompany you during your routine visits to the hospital, even when it meant leaving all of his business without any prior warning.
Needless to say, you were perfectly able to do those things on your own -pheraps except for getting a crowd of world renowned doctors in your living room- and you sure as hell had tried to persuade him that there was no need at all for being so preoccupied all the time; still, he was Tommy Shelby, he simply couldn’t help it.
The concern for his loved ones’ lives kept stealing his sleep, even on those nights when there was no trace of imminent dangers on the horizon, it kept excoriating the insides of his drained brains, to the point that, more than once, you’d had to sleep alone in your immense king-size bed or reach for him in his study, curling up on one of his uncomfortable armchairs, ready to appease his fears as best you could. In short, for as much as you needed him to relax, you were still able to understand his protective behavior, against which, as a matter of fact, no one could do much; thus you at least tried not to give him more reasons to be worried by paying some extra attention to all those small things you could solve without Tommy even knowing about it. Regularly taking your iron tablets, for example. Nonetheless, it had now been already a week since the Peaky Blinders had started a brand new business involving in effect every metalworking factory in and around Birmingham, and the whole family, you and Tom included, had been so turbulently tied up with work to let every other thought and need slither on the back burner. As a direct consequence, your doctor’s latest prescription was unfortunately left lying on the bottom of your drawer, that being the fourth day in a row you’d spent without taking those pills, and, even though everything appeared to be going well until then, that one Thursday morning your period eventually came and stroke the fatal blow, having you feel so faint and aching that, all of a sudden, the few metres separating your side of the street from the betting shop seemed to implausibly dilate right under your blurred vision, a vexing sense of nausea assaulting your empty stomach led you to lean against a lamppost, your skin still crawling beneath all those heavy tissues.  Dizziness and lethargy almost took over your sore mind, before you shook your head with an abrupt move in a bid to dispel those unpleasent sensations; clients would’ve arrived in less than a hour, Esme had taken John’s kids on a brief fieldtrip, Michael was already in his office, the boys were making their usual rounds of the mills, Finn and Isaiah were dealing with a couple folks in need back at the Garrison and Polly was nowhere in sight, which made you the only available blinder for the opening and, with Friday’s race approaching, there was no way the box-office could remain shut. Hence, more determined than ever, you chocked down the knot forming in your throat due to queasiness and just forced youself to put one foot in front of the other onto the dusty road, until you reached the shop door, not without the risk of tripping over multiple times in the process. Your frozen fingers clutched to the small side-wall now carring all of your weight, whilst your lungs tried to let in as much air as possible. And it worked, each plodding breath seemed to fight your sickness, also your heartbeat was gradually slowing down, thus you shut your eyelids and continued to inhale deeply for a full minute, before your trembilng hand managed to finally turn the key in the lock, giving you free access to the place.
However, the small click produced by the latch closing again did not live to reach your ears, for they were already brimful of ominous hisses, in a scant moment a bulk of hypnotic grey worms prevented you from seeing anything else, they relentlessly squirmed in front of your dilated pupils, that repulsing view sending brutal shooks straight to your clenched stomach, again. And, before you even had a chance to realize what was going on, your brain completely blacked out.
                                                    ~ ~ ~
Words would not be sufficient to describe the fright taking over Arthur’s features the second your inert silhouette entered his line of sight. Just returned from their daily patrol, he had indeed noticed a small crowd waiting outside the office, cursing and fussing because of the lacked opening, and that alone had been weird enough for him to punch and kick his way up to the entrance, profanities spilling from his mustached mouth every time somebody’s elbow digged into his ribcage, inducing him to hit back so to stand his ground, only to eventually find himself powerless in front of that ghastly scene. It took him a while to recover from the shock, yet the eldest Shelby eventually regained control of his limbs and moved towards your shape with a single step.
“Polly! Pol, come here, for God’s sake!” Those hoarse yells filled the room, reverberating through the brickwalls, so loud that they could’ve been heard from the other side of the city, Arthur fell on his knees right beside you, gently placing a hand under your nape in order to lift your head. Blind panic streaming in his veins kept him for thinking clearly, he didn’t know what to do, thus he simply shook you from your shoulders, hoping in vain to see your eyes fly back open, but your neck just bent backwards.
“Where the hell is that bloody woman when I need her?!” he grunted those words in between his teeth while tigthening his grip on you, then his chest raised in a sharp move: “Jesus Christ, Polly!” He shouted once more, this time conveying all of his breath and blood towards his larynx, his abrasive voice shriveled and insisted on the last letters of his aunt’s name, until swift strides frantically hit the creaking steps, announcing Polly’s arrive. Her eyes struggled to remain open, her left palm was pressed against her forehead in a silly attempt to soothe the tremendous headache resulted from the previous night’s booze, she didn’t even have the time to put proper clothing on, since her mad niece was apparentely going berserk. “You, son of a bastard-” cursed words died underneath her tongue when she understood what was going on, soon her feet took on a life of their own, as they picked up their peace, leading her next to your body now held in Arthur’s arms.
“She’s freezing, Pol, she’s a fucking chunk of ice!” Hiccoughs shattered his worried cries, he almost whined, shifting his gaze from yours to Polly’s face over and over again, she, on the other hand, used the whole lenght of her right arm to clear in one smooth motion the closest desk. “Quick, lay her here” The deafening noise produced by those items colliding with the pavement barely grazed her hears, whilst she nodded to herself in the effort to impose some order on her obfuscated head, searching for a prompt solution that was late in coming, to the point that Finn beat it to the draw and stormed in, pointing a loaded gun to each corner of the room with fear in his cerulean irises. “What the hell’s going on?” That hysterical question echoed through the place, even though the young boy was finding it hard to get his breath, due to the crazy run he had made to reach the shop immediately after hearing that insane screaming. Nonetheless, in the space of an instant, he saw you as well and fell utterly silent, violent dismay caught him off guard, his wide eyes hesitated on your motionless figure; all of a sudden he didn’t know what to think, nor he could get the thought of your death out of his brains.
“My God, she’s as pale as death” Finn let his mind talk through that throttled murmur, regretting it right away, for silty goosebumps crawled on his skin under the pungent pressure of his brother’s instantaneous lethal glare. “Don’t talk shit, kid! Just fucking go and get Tom!”
The redhead didn’t waste any time, he somehow managed to recollect his guts and steadily disappeared behind the door previously left open. While struggling for air and internally searching for the right words to say in front of Thomas, Finn covered the whole distance between the office and the Garrison. Labored gasps coming out of his slightly parted lips in louder groans as he slammed the heavy pub’s doors open, using only his strongest shoulder; both Harry and Isaiah watched him run towards the back room where Tommy was going through the books, they did not dare spill a word and, after all, the boy didn’t even look in their direction, such was his concentration. Still, once he reached the place, all of a sudden his tongue felt dry, his well-organised speech faded away.
“Finn?! What’s wrong?” Tom’s icy eyes were now staring at him through his round glasses, the paper he’d been reading was instantly dropped, although his tone remained steady. “Y-you need to come, now! She... she’s-” A frown formed upon Tommy’s marble face at his little brother’s furious rambling, something wasn’t right, that was crystal clear, yet he wasn’t able to keep up with those hasty and stuttered sentences, so he approached him, putting both his hands on Finn’s shoulders in order to give him a little shove and maybe get some decent information. “Breathe, kid, and tell me what’s going on” That deep, adamant tone somehow sounded scarier than usual roaring inside the boy’s head, hence anxiety definitively won him over, gaining complete control of his mouth too. “It’s Y/n! I don’t fucking know, Tom, s-she looks dead!” All at once, time and space seemed to collapse around him, one single second dilated, covering the space of a whole lifetime beyond his vacant blue irises now fixed on an undetermined spot of the white wall behind Finn’s back.   A gruesome, yet familiar sensation raided his petrified body, it felt like having a beast’s fangs gnawing his throat off, lacerating his flesh to the bone, he could sense every little laceration, his chest being plundered, till even his sable heart was eradicated and then mauled. A strangled wheeze barely lived through his plump lips, that being the only sound he uttered, then his black pupils shrinked and immediately twitched, nailing his sibiling’s gaze. Without receiving an order from his brain, his fists violently gripped Finn’s jacket at the height of his biceps, bringing him a span away from his gnashed teeth with a sharp pull. “Where?” He snarled liked a rabid dog, striking, if possible, geater terror in the young man who struggled to spit an almost inaudible “The shop”, before being shoved against the doorframe as Tommy dodged him and rushed out.
                                                     ~ ~ ~
Polly held the bottle of her almond parfume she’d just put under your nostrils as if her life depended on it, Arthur’s rough palm, instead, began to pat your pasty cheek. “C’mon, love, wake up! Don’t play games, c’mon!” The dorsum of that same hand now poking the left side of your face, and then going back to the other, at incredible speed. You started to feel your face again when his nudges grew in intensity, until he was practically slapping you; soon a tremendous metallic taste invaded your mouth, or rather, you finally sensed it, whilst your eyelids battled against gravity to get back up. Arthur noticed it, he detected that brief flinch and it felt like being pampered with a fresh breeze after days of unsustainable heat. “Oh, fuck, I think I’m having a stroke” His tone held extreme urgency as he grasped for air, tugging with two fingers at his shirt collar; sure, he was great at knocking people off, maybe the best, yet, unfortunately, after that he’d never tried to bring somenody back with the living.
Blinding light rended your shrouded eyes, everything appeared blurred to the point that you couldn’t distinguish Polly’s features, although she was right beside you; nor your hearing was working, since the loud thud produced by the wooden door hitting the brickwall, and then your name barked by your fiancée’s coarse voice, sounded muffled to your ears. With a superhuman effort you succeeded in tilting your face towards the entrance, you recognized the navy-blue suit Thomas had chosen to wear earlier in the moring, still those nebulous images reached your brains with extreme delay, it was like watching vague movie scenes stream in slow motion. Your eyelids blinked as if a plumbeous burden was anchored to them, each flutter seemed to last a full minute, so that you perceived Tom coming to you in multiple shattered motions, while he kept calling you. The moment Tommy furiously jostled against Arthur, in order to take his place by the desk, you gradually went back to see and hear clearly, now being able to seize pure dread sailing those mesmerizing ocean eyes. “Thank goodness, y/n” His big palms envelopped both your cheeks, slightly squeezing them as he lift your neck, revealing all of his hidden delicacy that you, and you only, were able to bring out. “Y/n, love, talk to me” That order came out like a prayer, his voice betraying him once too often, his fingers shaking with worry, while one of his hands held your chin and the other went to caress your locks. Those loving strokes brushed against your skin, slowly infusing a little warmth into your gelid body, he touched you with the unbearable fear of watching you pass away in between his arms, having him struggle to breathe properly. “Do you hear me?” a single, salty drop fell from his long eyelashes and poured your lower lip, you heard his voice crack, distorting, until it became nothing more than a faint whine: “Please, love, talk to me” When his forehead pressed against yours, he finally gave in to the tears that had been held back with drastic ostination, shutting his eyes for a few instants he allowed brutal sobs to trounce his already aching chest. However, that moment of raw weakness was soon restrained, so that you returned to stare into his blue irises. Then, a small grin crossed your pale mouth and, even though your throat felt like gasoline on fire, preventing you from pronouncing a single syllable, you managed to guide your tiny hand to cup his sharp cheekbone. A burning kiss was pressed on its dorsum, before Tommy completely leant into your touch, giving you a look halfway between relief and disperation, he covered your hand with his own, holding it tight. “You’re okay, you’re safe” Those soft murmurs escaped his lips, probably aimed to placate the axphyziating terror still intoxicating his veins. Indeed, as hard as it was to conceive for everybody in that room, although you were the one just recovering from a sudden collapse, Tommy was now the one trembling like a fallen leaf, his arms rested on each side of your shape, sustaining his weight, as he barely stood on his own two feet. Slowly, you regained the necessary strenght to lift your bust, leading him to flutter in your direction, promptly enlacing his forearms around your waist in order to support your movements. “Hold onto me, darling, take it slow” His raspy voice was still unsteady and full of concern, he was holding his breath out of fear, gazing at you with wide eyes and tightening the grip on your hips as if to make sure that you wouldn’t vanish in his palms. You, on the other hand, gave him a rassuring smile, caressing his face mutliple times and placing a brief kiss on his mouth. “I’m fine, Tommy, I’m here with you” you eventually spoke close to his ear so to keep that conversation between the two of you “Let go, my love, I’m here” Your lips accidentally brushed against his forehead once he listened to you and abandoned himself to your tender embrace, gradually drowning into your soft chest while his arms clung on to your figure, his fingertips almost piercing the thick material of your dress as your cheek covered his head, totally annihilating the distance. “Don’t you ever do that to me again. Never again”.

Hey again! I know I just asked for one and I don’t wanna be bothersome, but I saw that Raymond Tango is on your list and I was hoping I could get an imagine with him and maybe Gabriel Cash as well?
Something like the reader works at the prison where they end up and helps them out when they’re jumped? Or whatever scenario you can think of 😁 Please add a lot of flirting if you can
I actually watched Tango and Cash and the Expendables because of your imagines 😆 And I’ll probably keep discovering more awesome movies thanks to you!
I also had an idea for Rambo where the fireworks on the 4th of July trigger his ptsd and the reader is there to comfort him? (It was Canada Day today so there were fireworks in my hometown to celebrate and I got the idea for it 🤷🏼‍♀️)
Thank you so very much!!! 💕
I'm really sorry for the wait, but I hope you like this!😊❤
Tip-Off.
Ray Tango x reader x Gabe Cash (Tango and Cash)
Warnings: injury, swearing, mention of violence, mention of gun use

Finally, I manage to fling the door open, the thick metal clanging loudly as it slams against the wall, announcing my arrival to the room behind it. Gritting my teeth, I crash through it, yelling out to the inmates I know are gathered there, my standard handgun held at the ready. I hate to use it, but I know very well that many of the people turning to face me won't move unless threatened by something a little more dangerous.
The room is lit with a drab light, keeping most of the thugs' faces cast in shadow as they turn towards me, shouts of surprise and panic filling the air. As if startled by a ghost, the lot of them suddenly retreat into the darkness, doors banging open and shut around the perimeter, many of them cursing loudly as they clear out. Frowning, I move further into the room, shouting at them hoarsely, my head rotating quickly to make sure I'm not being ambushed by any of them. Thankfully or not, they disappear quickly, leaving me alone in the deserted area with two familiar people hanging by their necks from the ceiling above large troughs of water. Upon closer inspection, I notice that the water is electrified, a sparking cable lying a metre or so away.
"Hey, hey, what's going on?! Don't just leave us hanging here, kill us or let us down! You shitbrains!" I groan in realisation as I notice exactly who is hanging from the ceiling, the two captives facing away from me.
"Are those my only options, or would you rather I tried to get you down?" I call out to the only one of them who is actually moving, walking round to face them.
"Huh? Who're you?" It's Raymond Tango, the one still writhing on his hook. His partner, Gabriel Cash, hangs listlessly, head drooped, blood dripping from his lip.
"The reason you're still alive." I frown, tapping Cash's foot.
"Oh, it's you. Feel like helping me down?" Ray stares at me, fear still bright in his eyes as he shifts in his bindings.
"Don't sound too grateful. I just saved your ass." I roll my eyes, but move to start helping him.
Going closer, I ignore the dark-haired man's expectant expression, bowing so that I can heave the troughs of water out of the way, first. It isn't easy: the containers weigh tonnes, their contents sloshing all over the place as I brace my shoulder against the battered steel, muscles straining to dislodge them. A grating screech sounds from the base of the troughs as they rasp along the hard ground, but I eventually manage to get them clear, panting by the time they're significantly out of the way.
"Ok, this is probably gonna hurt a bit." I warn Ray, before going over to the knots at the end of the ropes holding them up.
"What is- argh!" The detective yelps in surprise as he drops unceremoniously from the ceiling, landing with a thud on the cold stone floor.
I leave Gabe's line for now, going over to help Ray up as he rolls onto his side, groaning in pain. Untying him, I check him over for any particularly bad wounds.
"Couldn't you have done that a little less painfully?" Ray grumbles as he moves to sit upright, wiping away blood from his nose, groaning.
"Sorry, next time I'll bring a mattress." I roll my eyes again, "You'll live. Now help me with Cash."
"Can't we just leave him there? He makes quite a nice light fixture." Ray jokes dryly, climbing wearily to his feet.
Shooting him a pointed look, I try to ignore the small spike in my pulse as I regard the dishevelled detective, not for the first time admiring his chiselled good-looks. Swallowing down the idle thoughts, I move back to the end of Gabe's line.
"Catch him, will you?" I tell Ray, loosening the knot, Cash's limp body dropping ever so slightly as I do so.
"The lump'll crush me!" He complains, but goes to stand underneath him anyway, reaching up to brace Cash's thighs with a grimace.
"You know, your jibes would have much more effect if he were awake." I smile wryly.
Ray doesn't say anything, but sends me a quick smirk anyway, knowing I'm right.
Turning away, I untie the knot completely, looking back to see Cash fall onto Tango, his torso rocking precariously as the latter struggles to hold him up. Rushing over, I reach out, arms outstretched as the two start to fall, Gabe landing heavily in my grip, throwing us all to the floor. We land heavily, a dull pain erupting in my back from the impact.
Winded, I lie there, Gabe on my chest, Ray on his rival's stomach, breathing heavily as we try to recover. Against me, Gabe shifts slightly, moaning in his unconsciousness, making me force myself to sit upright, his head now in my lap, Ray still trying to catch his breath on his back. Looking down at the man on my thighs, I brush aside some hair from his face, swiping away a little blood from his lip, glancing up to see Ray staring at me, jaw tight. Confused, I go to say something, my brow cocked, only to stop when a pained voice trickles up from between us.
"This isn't what I expected from the afterlife." Gabe murmurs, eyes barely open as he gazes up at me, licking his dry lips.
"Don't get ahead of yourself, Cash." Ray jumps in, pushing himself back up.
Frowning, Gabe lifts his head, opening his mouth to speak, before closing it again, the sharp response clearly struggling to materialise.
"Come on, let's get you untied." I chuckle, moving to shift out from under the detective in my lap.
Gabe groans, whining as I roll him over, Tango reaching over to loosen the knots of his ties. Once free, he lazily tries to return to his original position, only to complain when he finds out I've moved. Now standing, I look down at the two with a fading smile, quickly becoming serious as I think back over the gravity of the situation. The two notice, joining me in standing, Gabe rapidly adjusting his clothes as Ray wipes blood from his lip.
"Whoever set you guys up has a serious problem with you two." I muse, scratching my chin in consternation.
"Wait, you believe us?" Ray sounds surprised, his rival regarding me with a similar expression.
"About what?"
"The setup."
Glancing at him, I tilt my head.
"Yeah, of course. What, you thought I was one of the bribed guards? After all the tip-offs I gave you both?" I shake my head in exasperation.
"Pretty dumb, if you ask me, Tango." Cash comments, smirking as he runs a hand through his hair, betraying his nerves.
"And who didn't listen to the tip-offs?" I tease him, grinning as Ray sends him a pointed look.
"Hey, I've had a lot on my mind!" Gabe protests, before he conspiratorially rakes his gaze over me, "A certain someone in particular."
Blushing, I wave him off, muttering a quick "behave" before gesturing for the two detectives to follow after me.
"You're disgusting, you know that?" Ray hisses to Gabe as they limp along behind me, a scoff following this as we reach the door I came through.
"And you think you're better? Come on, man, I've seen you staring at her when she does her rounds. Your cellmate practically has to wipe the drool from your chin."
"I'm not deaf, you know." I sigh, leading them into a side room,  where a desk and few chairs have been pushed to the wall, a couple of pieces of equipment sat neatly where I left them.
The two men enter behind me, frowning at the sight of the small room, confused by its purpose. Naturally, Gabe is quick to recover and goes straight to one of the chairs, sitting down and leaning back in it, head tilted back so that his mane of golden hair falls down between his shoulder blades. Ray eyes him disdainfully, only to take a seat near him, running a hand through his own hair, muscular arms flexing as he does so. It's a struggle for me to keep my eyes averted from them both as I go to the table in the centre and take out my first aid kit, opening it to check inside.
"Ok, who's first?" I finally look up at them both, my cheeks warming up as I am met with two intense stares, neither looking away as I make eye contact.
"I'll go!" Gabe interrupts Ray before he can speak, hopping up and coming over to me, leeching on the table with a grin.
Shaking my head, I take some gauze and start to clean out the worst wounds he received, which I soon find are not particularly bad, so I move to check that he's not concussed at all. Removing a small penlight from my keys, I hold it up to his face, placing a finger under his chin to level his head properly.
"Ok, stare straight ahead." I tell him, not quite realising why he's smirking until I realise that he's decided to stare straight at me, blue eyes fixed on mine. Shaking my head, I once more ignore the blush on my cheeks as I check if his eyes are dilating properly, quickly moving to check his response as I move my hand in front of his face. Thankfully he seems to be ok, everything working as it should be.
"All done." I tell him, placing the penlight down on the desk beside him, glancing back up in time to see him leaning in. Surprised, I have no time to react before he's pressed a quick kiss to my cheek, the blonde smirking as he hops off the bench, eyes glittering mischievously.
Ray makes a sound of disapproval, glaring at Gabe as his rival steps past, muscles tensed up as he tries to fight back the (very) obvious jealousy. Quickly, he takes Cash's place on the table, looking at me gratefully as I start cleaning up the wound on his head. His dark eyes don't leave mine the entire time, unnerving me a little.
"So what do we do now?" He eventually asks, voice low as I stand close to him to make sure the cut is properly dressed.
"You guys need to get out of here." I muse, chewing my lip as I work, "It's just how we're gonna do it that's difficult."
"We?" Gabe sounds hopeful, though I can hear a little jealousy in his tone. This confuses me, until I realise why: Ray has gently placed a hand on either side of my waist, most likely under the pretense that he needs a hold to ground himself.
"Y-Yeah, we. I don't think you two will make it out without help." I tell him, calming my nerves as my pulse picks up, swiping the gauze over Ray's head once more before taking up the penlight again.
"And you're offering? Won't that lose you your job?" Ray questions, surprised at what I've said.
I sigh, standing back upright once I've checked his eyes.
"If I get caught, yeah, it will. At least it'll be for good reason." I shrug, stepping back out of Ray's grip, somewhat reluctantly.
Taking advantage of this, Gabe steps closer, placing a reassuring hand on my lower back. Unused to this kind of affection, I look up at him, expression somewhat blank as he speaks.
"You're sure about that?" He queries, searching my face for hesitation.
"Yeah, I am. What happened to you two wasn't fair, so I think it's good if you get your revenge." I nod firmly, glancing back at Ray, who smiles at me, "Look, I'll come up with a plan as soon as I can. For now, you two need to try and stay alive."
"Easier said than done." Ray murmurs, but agrees nonetheless.
"For you, we will." Gabe teases, tapping my chin with a grin.

Tumblr media
Preface: Let me say, I am immensely nervous about this. After months of back and forth inside my mind, I’ve decided to go for it and begin the long process of moving my long running series to Tumblr, along with changing the name (something I’ve wanted to do for a long time). I hit a big emotional road block after over a year of writing and posting, so I’m hoping this move will eventually get me back into the swing. But for now, I’m looking forward to revisiting the beginning of this space love triangle.
If you’ve already read the saga, absolutely NO pressure to read again. Each chapter will be edited a little, but no major plot points will change. To any newcomers who find themselves interested, the story is already posted on AO3 if you are desperate to continue. Otherwise if you prefer reading on Tumblr, or simply like the forced breaks between chapters, I’ll be posting a new chapter every couple of days. I know it’s not written as reader insert, but I just couldn’t make the story work out in any other fashion. I poured a lot of love and heart into Alexys so I hope you’ll give her a chance.
Chapter 1 - Crash Landing

~
I felt it before I heard it.
A booming crash of metal and glass, sending a shattering vibration through the walls and furniture around me. After the years of mostly silence I’d become accustomed to, the noise that came pummelling into my ears almost made me shriek in surprise. It was short lived, coming and going in a flicker so quick I had to wonder if it was real at all.
Lights began to flash, blinking rapidly in uneven time. The mixture of harsh beeps indicated something was faulting my electricity circuits, plunging me into the darkness of night over and over.
I could only question myself again at the plausibility of this being a dream, but the slow, increasing creak emanating from beyond the walls of this building brought me to a certainty.
Something had crashed outside.
Fear radiated through my limbs, leaving me stuck where I was standing for a few moments, before an uncontrollable urge of selflessness and honestly, curiosity, forced me to move and exit the safety of my clinic.
There wasn’t really a way to prepare for what I saw not metres away from my front entrance. A ship, an X-wing of some variety, was wrecked into itself, varying metals twisted and curled over each other, flames beginning to billow out from the creases. I could feel the heat of them rise as I cautiously stepped forward, taking in the scene with wide eyes. Only seconds had passed when I saw it – the movement of something – no, a person, demanding my attention. The pilot of this battered machine had been thrown just beyond the edge of its hull, broken transparisteel smattering the ground around them.
Hm, the Resistance should probably investigate their flight safety measures.
That thought quickly flittered away when the pilot moved again, this time with a painful moan echoing into the atmosphere. The switch inside quickly flipped, and an all too familiar feeling of conviction flooded through.
This is your cue Alexys.
I raced quickly to the pilot and knelt on the ground before them, fingers carefully removing the black and red helmet with both urgency and restraint as to not cause any more possible damage to their head or neck. The moan I'd heard just moments before let me know this person had some kind of airway, but it was pertinent I assess further. With the helmet gone I noticed the short, lightly waved black hair of a man, his eyes pulled closed, a few bruises and smudges of grey soot smattered over his face. His chest was moving, laboured breathing with the occasional heave on inhale.
At least he’s breathing.
“It’s alright,” I insisted. “I’m here to help you.”
There wasn’t any discernible response from the pilot other than a groan that withered away slowly, and that in itself was worrying. Kneeling over his body, I placed two fingers under the line of his jaw, halfway down, trying to feel for a pulse. I could sense the thump of blood under my fingertips, but it was too slow, too faint, too uneven.
Not great, but it was enough for now.
I began to scan over his body, knowing it was time to assess what was giving him reason to cry out in pain. There were severe burns on his left arm which had caused some of his flight suit to stick to the skin, with more scalds reaching down to his torso and abdomen. His right arm was almost definitely broken with the limb morphed into an irregular angle almost halfway along.
Without being able to look at them directly to ascertain whether I was going to be able to move him, I pressed on his hips gently, silently praying he hadn’t broken his pelvis. He muffled softly, but anyone who had actually shattered the bone would have screamed. As my eyes continued to scan down, it became obvious all too suddenly the shattered edge of his right femur bone poking out of the orange flight suit.
Kriff, this is not ideal.
I wanted to kick myself for not noticing it before, but there was no time, not with the very real possibility of him bleeding out in front of my eyes. My feet moved under me, racing back to the clinic room, knowing where the bandage and splint lay waiting, along with the anaesthetic injections I had stocked in the pharmacy cupboard.
He was certainly going to need them.
Within minutes I was back to the ground with the pilot, clicking together the injector handle and vial, piercing the needle straight into his thigh above the fracture site. I wouldn’t be able to wait for it to dull most of the pain, so internally, I braced myself for the scream I was about to elicit from this poor human's chest. The second I started to wrap the bandage around the splint, a piercing wail echoed through the air, almost causing me to hesitate. Still, my hands continued to haphazardly wrap the white material around his leg, pushing through the guilt it ignited.
Suddenly, the noise stopped.
My eyes darted to his face as his head slumped over on its side. “Hey!” I shouted into his face as I scrambled back to the top end of his limp body. “Hey can you hear me? Open your eyes if you can hear me!”
There was no response.
I pinched at the muscle on his shoulder, harder and harder to elicit any kind of reaction. Nothing. My hand pulled into a closed fist and grinded against his sternum. “Come on, open those eyes if you can feel this!”
Still nothing.
Again I took check of his breathing, chest still rising and falling, yet shallow and with little power. His heartbeat had begun to race, but through my fingertips I could feel the strain in the muscle. Something was seriously wrong, even more so than his other injuries. Something internally. If I didn’t get him into the clinic, he was going to die.
In a snap decision, I chose to forgo an attempt to run back and locate the hover-stretcher. It would take too much time to set up and power on, time this man didn’t have. I would have to move him myself.
How the hell am I going to do this?
With my arms hooked and locked under his armpits I began to drag the pilots hefty body backwards towards the clinic behind me, thankfully only a few meters away, barely making it past the entryway when a roar of flames overtook the X-wing. I looked up to see the blaze almost completely engulfing the ship, a ferocious heat searing into my eyes and face. With even more urgency I heaved the body into the large clinic room, getting up and slamming the door just in time. Just before a house rattling explosion sent shockwaves into the atmosphere.
Lucky didn’t seem to be an appropriate feeling considering the situation I was in, but at least no one had died. Yet. With my last bit of brute strength, I hoisted the pilots limp body onto the closest hospital bed, noticing then the trail of red liquid I’d brought along with me.
Oh no no no.
With him still lifeless, I tugged at his body and limbs to lie flat on the bed, scurrying to my medical trolley and hauling it back to where the pilot laid, ragged breaths still thankfully escaping into the air. Snatching the heavy shears from the top drawer, I began to tear through the thick fabric of the flight suit, unclipping and removing as much of the life support vest and belt as I could. I had to be careful not to rip away the fabric that melted into the burns scattered all over his body, the number of them increasing as I peeled away the suit, starting from his legs, up to his abdomen and chest over to his upper arms. His torso was in full view now, a smattering of dark hair over his pectorals, underneath which showed the bruises of his crash’s impact.
Oh he’s definitely got some broken ribs.
As my gaze scanned over his skin, I could finally isolate where all that blood had escaped from. A deep penetrating wound just below the last rib on his left flank. As I registered his quick shallow breaths and the uneven rise in his chest, it became obvious.
Collapsed lung.
Whatever had pierced through his chest had poked an extremely damaging hole in his lung, the pleural space now filling with air, leaving no room for his lung to expand. My following movements were swift and calculated, almost automatic. A pointed scalpel was soon in my hand, poised to cut. But I couldn’t help but hesitate. It had been so long since I’d had to do this. And yet, somehow, concern for this stranger’s life was quick to weave it’s way through, dissolving my fear into pure resolve.
I made my incision in between the 4th and 5th ribs, using a clamp to push into the underlying tissue and past the pleural cavity, a gloved hand then entering to check I’d made it through. With an instinctive confidence, I guided the chest tube between the layers of tissue, undoing the ratchet of the clamp to an immediate rush of air. The pilot’s chest heaved in relief, along with my own.
One crisis averted.
But there was more to do. Connecting a drain to the tube, I haphazardly sutured it in place, before flying to the pharmacy cupboard. My stock of bacta was limited, returning with an already prepared vial into the pressurised injector, reminding myself I would need to use it sparingly if this stranger was going to make it through the full extend of his injuries. I had cursed at myself only a few times in the years past at being so far removed from a higher level medical centre that would be overflowing with bacta and medical droids that could help in exactly this kind of situation, but the thought had never burned me so badly. There was no way to know if I could keep this man alive with the resources that yesterday I had been more than comfortable with. I would just have to try.
I injected some of the bacta solution throughout the surrounding area of the wound and covered it with heavy dressing, knowing the bleeding would quickly be curbed. Unfortunately, the wound itself would take a few days to fully close, only ever being able to afford lower quality bacta. Before moving on to the burns, I placed some basic monitoring, lines extending from electrical dots over his chest, wrist and neck to the data monitor above the bed. As the numbers lit up on the holo screen, I felt myself breathe a small sigh of relief, having prepared for a much worse result. His heart rate was better, oxygen levels returning to normal, blood pressure not optimal by any means but high enough to sustain his life, for now.
After securing an oxygen filter over his battered face, I continued to inspect and clean as many of the small and more sizeable burns dotting his body. Even with the many I had uncovered, the one extending from his shoulder past his elbow was the one of most concern. Third degree and extremely unhappy looking. If I wasn’t quick to treat this, it could leak even more fluid from his already compromised circulatory system. I was thankful he still remained unconscious when I began to slowly shed the charred material melted into the skin layer. I couldn’t help but shudder as I remembered the initial scream this man had let out, knowing I would be hearing it now if not for his comatose state.
Covering the immense scald in as much salve as I could spare, I began to wrap it in protective antibacterial bandage, soon moving on to protect his many blisters and deeper burns with dressings. Glancing at the monitor screen, he was still stable, and swallowed hard. Now it was time to attempt possibly the most daunting part of this patient’s treatment.
His femur was still sticking through the tissue of his thigh, slightly dried dark red blood creating lightning strike looking lines extending from the wound.
I need to get some blood into him before moving this.
I quickly got to work on an IV cannula, his poor blood pressure making it significantly more difficult than it should have been. Two bags of O- blood were all I had, and a wave of dread coursed through me with the thought of that not being enough if this all went wrong. My fist squeezed the fast flow pump of the IV line, pushing fresh blood urgently into his system, making his blood pressure rise only slightly. With the last of the red liquid trickling through the line I wheeled over the portable X-Ray. It was so old the mechanical arm screeched at me as I positioned it into place over the pilot’s leg. The bone had to be at least somewhat in place before getting the bacta to work its magic or this guy might walk with two uneven legs for the rest of his life.
If he actually made it through the rest of his injuries, that is.
Shaking my arms out at my side, I sucked in a few deep breaths to build my stamina. Unfortunately, this stranger was stuck with a small framed female to attempt reducing his severe fracture. With one last inhale, I drew the courage to pull as hard as I could horizontally at the knee joint, digging my fingers into a vice grip around the limb and yanking it towards me. To my relief, the fractured edge of the femur to slipped back into the hole it was peeking out from, settling back under the skin.
Thank all the stars in the galaxy he’s not awake for this.
I quickly pressed the image button on the X-ray to assess the progress I’d made. The faint white lines of bone edges were stark enough on the grey background of the image. The fracture wasn’t reduced even nearly enough. I prepared myself again, with another deep breath I pulled hard. This time my efforts were forced into angling the lower portion of bone to try and lock it back into place. The grinding of bone edges could be felt through my fingers, pushing myself to pull even harder, creating more space between the fracture in the hope of giving a fighting chance of lining up the splintered edges. My muscles were whining, begging for this to be over, tears of exhaustion soon stinging at the edges of my eyes.
With one final twisting motion there was a sudden click.
Finally.
My relief was short lived.
It was slow at first, before racing faster. A stream of dark red blood pooling at the wound the broken bone had made.
Oh maker no.
Within moments the pace of the blood quickened. I shot my hands to the open flesh site, pressing down hard in an attempt to disturb the flow. The liquid quickly covered my gloved hands, already sure I’d sliced into the femoral artery. The pressure of my hands into the area made the blood spurt out onto my arms, my clothes, my face, everywhere. The monitor was screaming, blood pressure falling quickly. Wiping some of the hot coppery fluid away from my left eye, I slid my fingers back into the gash, moving desperately to stop the overflow before the man lying in front of me bled out, knowing it would all be my fault.
You have to do it Alexys. He will die if you don’t.
The voice nagged at me, pleading to do what it wanted.
He’s with the Resistance! If he survives, if he contacts them, they’ll find me. And they’ll know.
It is time to decide. His life. Or yours.
Seconds ticked by fleetingly, numbers flashing on the monitor trickling down, the speed of blood flow from the pilot’s leg stubbornly keeping it’s intensity.
Everything I’d done to get here, to isolate myself so no one could find me. It would all amount to nothing. My easy, albeit lonely life, would be gone. All because of this stranger.
But I couldn’t let him die. Not like this.
In one flash, I removed my hands from inside the wound, ripping off my gloves and placing two palms at either side of the leg. With closed eyes, I willed the energy out of the depths of its slumber. From the darkened corner of my mind I pulled it back into existence, opening the gate I’d locked it inside for so long, letting it finally burst through and fill up my brain. From there it down through my neck, through my chest and down my arms, right to the end of my fingertips. Its warming glow was almost comforting, friendly. I would have basked in it for a while if not for the life that hung in the balance before me.
Through the pads of my fingerprints I pushed the stream outwards, connecting past the skin of this innocent human being, and felt the overwhelming heat of pain and dimming of energy.
Hurry, he’s dying.
I began to map out the tissue of his leg, frustratingly slowly, starting at the smallest of capillaries, weaving and winding through the flesh, connecting them through the maze of fat and muscle. I could feel the sweat forming on my forehead, my breathing forced and harsh. The vessels grew bigger as I pushed the energy through, skipping past broken points of other smaller injuries. I could fix them later.
Finally, I felt a molten warmth radiating close to where the maze had guided me. Racing to it, I sensed something pushing me back, the pressure of escaping fluid holding my efforts. I’d found the cut, but now I had to somehow knit it back together.
You’re taking too long.
The alarms of the monitor started to echo with a hollow ring inside my ear, fading until I could hear almost nothing. The world around me was blurry, only the image of vessel tissue and all-consuming redness visible in my minds eye. The energy I was expending began to burn me - I wouldn’t be able to keep this up for much longer. I reached out with it, what felt like many hands grasping desperately at the severed edge of the vessel, frantic yet delicate, pulling whatever tissue I could hold back into place.
Several fringes connected, the pressure pushing forcefully against me, making it harder to hold. I couldn’t help but begin to shake at the strain, the sound of my own heart pounding over the slowing heartbeat of the pilot. My grip was already beginning to fade before I started to sew the pieces of artery back together, an ache growing behind my eyes as I pierced an invisible needle through the tissue, over and over, still clawing at the unsewn edges as I made my way around the tube.
I was so close, the tension of the fluid still being driven out of the broken seal almost overcoming me. The unseen thread had almost made its way full circle. I was almost there.
My entire body rattled with exhaustion and pain. One final thread wove itself around the artery, its abrupt closure alleviating the strain on invisible fingers that had been clutching it all together.
You did it.
The energy dissipated quickly in a rolling wave, letting it retreat back into my mind, scampering to the secluded area of my brain, hidden once more. I felt light suddenly, dizzy, the world coming back into focus, screaming alarms growing louder. It was too much, all at once.
A sharp pang of fatigue enveloped every part of my senses and I faltered back, knees giving way, slumping to the floor.
Then, there was only darkness.

Act I:
With a half hour of sleep being a generous estimate I was up at 3am sliding out an early poo, unusual for me in the pregame. All business and efficiency I set about greasing my entire body in running lubricant, standard running kit plus a couple of additional hacks to keep cool and sun protected. Now it was time to head to the start line for some athlete breakfast and nervous anticipation cut by friendly banter and shit talk.
These are the moments when time stands still but moves in the blink or an eye…
I have never felt such fear and trepidation before an event but here I was, just stick to the plan. I had told myself and anyone that asked for the last few weeks that a result of 29h59m59s is all I was after, anything else was a bonus. I knew my training wasn't sufficient but a couple of conversations in the days preceding planted a 24hour attempt in my mind…maybe, the main thing is to take it easy on the down hills early on and see how we are feeling. Take it easy, hike the uphills, don't get caught up in the crowd, run your own race.
The two things that came across as this biggest concern were the elevation and the heat, to add to this i had to watch my Achilles and right hip flexor so I wouldn't be caught dragging that leg for half the event and then the dreaded calf cramps that sporadically raise their head during events.
I was one of the first to arrive giving me the pick of the breakfast items. Juice and a muffin then slowly the rooms began to fill out, warm inside and quite brisk outside. I slowly moved amongst the crowd chatting to the runners, crew and organisers I had met over the preceding days as well as making some more last minute run buddies….then that iconic gate with its red digital glow began to reach go time.
Slowly the herd began to filter out into the elements to prepare for the ceremonial countdown and shotgun fire signalling the beginning of the long day out or, as they say, the big dance. I had joked the day before that there were that many Australians, we should hustle ourselves to pole position and block out the front runners with a row of Aussies but now it all gets serious. I shuffled my way toward the front of the corral as the countdown timer I had watched over the previous days lurched below the one minute stamp. Soon we broached ten seconds and the tradition of everyone counting down in unison, peak nervousness set in as I attempted to maintain composure and focus on taking it easy. The hard part is done, I made it to the start line, whatever happens from here is a bonus. Ceremony dictates a gunshot indicating the start of the event but I didn't hear it…
An easy run out of the gate, maybe one hundred metres and then the more than 4km climb begins, pull back to an easy hike straight away. So far so good, although a few times I feel my great rate rise so I try to calm myself internally and with deep breaths, more of that nervous energy. I immediately start seeing people I have met and, ever the clown, breaking the silence, calling them out and engaging lighthearted conversation, why is everyone so serious? Troy (Aus) flies past me, having known him online for almost three years now, I figure thats the last time I'll see him all day, Chris (Ger) comes up beside me and politely excuses himself as he sets his headphones and gameface on. I then spent most of the climb with Kaci (USA) and Simone (Aus) as very slowly the pack thinned out, before we hit the summit we would be jamming single file and prepared to shuffle down the single-track on the other side. Being mindful of the vistas of grand mountains and lake Tahoe in the distance I kept a consistent climb to meet the party at the top, with crowds and music I was sure to throw some shapes for the cameras with the rising sun shedding it's golden light on the day ahead.
Then it was on, once you hit that summit the gears shift, it's not a heavy descent but after the best part of an hour climbing, legs are eager to start running. What was mostly broad firetrail has now squarely set in on winding single trail overlooking valleys of pine forests and the occasional snow drift. Runners quickly set into race mode looking for lines and opportunities to pass or calling back of they feel you close behind with an urge to move through. I'm aiming to keep it easy and enjoy, although these are very runnable, fun trails. We cross some small remnants of snow and the first hints of wet feet with streams of the melt crossing the trail or coming directly down the trail, what would soon become a theme for the day.
Lyon Ridge is the first aid station the emerges from the wood at 10.3 miles or about 16.5k, looking back that was two and a half hours but it went by in the blink of an eye. I refilled my bottle and ate my way up the snack table grabbing biscuits, m&m's and fruit…wait, what was I here for? Volunteers call your number as you enter and again as you leave the aid station and off I went up the hill but caught the aid station captain at the last minute, someone I had met recently. It's always amazing finding a familiar face in these long events and this turned out to be particularly fortuitous. In my buffet excitement, I had failed to turn around and had completely missed the ice station, it was not yet hot but the plan was to ice early and ice a lot! He asked if I had grabbed ice and then ushered me back into the aid station, technically not something you are supposed to do once you have already cleared the checkpoint. He waved off the other volunteers concerns and I packed ice into my sleeves, running pack and a sock which I wore inserted into my neck gaiter. Now I was ready to continue, back to the climb.
More spectacular scenery lay before me with rocky climbs and dusty descents, playing leap frog with different runners or playing follow the leader in endless single file conga lines down switchbacks and passing the occasional photographer. The camera is always a fun part of an event, having some quick passing banter and playing up for the camera with a strong man pose or tongue out and throwing the horns.
Then before I knew it I was descending upon red star ridge and their forward volly was asking if I had a drop bag, an internal smile but an outwardly polite response in the negative I really felt it would be strange to have a drop bag so early in the game. Again I refilled my bottle, a sip of ginger ale, grabbed some snacks and gels and kept moving. I had already fine tuned, where they had standard thick GU gels I opted for the more watery version I had never tried before. They went down easy and I chose not to even wrestle with the thick, sticky texture or the regular offering.
Over the next twenty or thirty miles I would come in and out of range of Simone (Aus) who had helped me out with my bags a couple of days earlier and subsequently had us right place right time to meet Camille (USA). It was this section where I started to notice the length and grade of the descents. At first I questioned myself getting caught up in the conga line and having my speed dictated to me but I soon realised that you aren't able to take the descents easy, there is only two ways, you run the hills or brake the hills, either way your quads need to be primed. The aid stations are close but that terrain will catch you if you're sleeping. Then before I knew it, I had hit Duncan canyon, the last time I would see Kaci (USA) as she was shuffled away by crew. I packed ice, sunscreen, downed some decent food and from here it's a straight drop out of the aid station then into some long winding switchbacks where it really starts to heat up and you find some real creeks flowing across the trails.
The heat is often talked about at western states and this year was no different, however this didn't factor too much outside of my initial concerns. I don't know if it's the Australian connection, the 40 degree steamed up showers and baths I held every chance I got in the lead up or the kilo of ice I was carrying around at any given time during the event but at no point did I feel like the heat was irrepressible or that it was hampering my performance. I still made sure to splash myself in those streams when convenient. This next section did make me aware of my half hour of sleep the night before, everything else felt good I just had a little fade and wished for a little more sleep. Still too early for caffeine, hopefully it's just a phase…
I caught Chris (Ger) somewhere at the bottom of the canyon with a brief pass, I gave him a hoy but wasn't too sure how he was travelling. A lot of this section you are snaking into or out of canyons with pretty steep drops to your feet, at one point I waved another runner past, he caught a rock and almost went sailing down the side, luckily the damage was little more than pride and a face full of dirt. Back at the top the toll of the event was starting to show as I checked in with other runners who were largely silent, sometimes others must hate me when theyre in that pain cave and I'm asking how their event is going. I came across an American holding two hand helds in walk mode who said he had been throwing up and just outside an aid station Troy (Aus) came up behind me for a chat. I told him I hadn't expected to see him again and he said that he had to sit for half an hour as he was couldn't see or talk properly, I then watched him disappear in the distance.
Another party aid station came with crowds of people, music and fun, seeing a fresh tub of squirrels I dig my fingers in and must used at least half the jar between my legs and cheeks, that's like fifteen bucks back home! The ks seemed to roll over and I got a strong sense of the truly international flavour of the event exchanging conversation with Spaniards, french, Mexicans, Italians and more as I approached another canyon with a Mexican who seemed on the brink of pulling the pin. Keeping an eye on the time, I was well on track for that sub 24 hour and although those downhills were putting expected (but not well trained for) stress on, everything else was moving well.

baby, we bleed red and gold  | f.w
Tumblr media
warnings: Possible grammer mistakes
summary: The twins get a whiff of a plan that Draco and his buddies are hatching for the upcoming game and decide to get you involved in their plan to intimidate them. the tables turn and you get in the way of the serpents. Fred follows through with a promise.
authors note: I’ve had this sitting in my drafts unfinished for a couple of weeks now so I’d thought I’d smash it out. Once again another Gryffindor!reader that plays quidditch, I can’t help myself. Next fic will be multi house, promise.
Angelia had been absolutely kicking your asses in practice leading up to the match against Slytherin and to say you guys were prepared was a severe understatment. The atmosphere was unmatched when the lions and serpents went head to head; the age old rivalry sat thick in the air as the butterflies settled in the pit of your stomach and your hands clamped around your broom.
Up and ready to go with Ange first in line leading the pack, the seven of you got ready to kick off. It had been raining all week and the smell of the pitch took over your senses as you took heavy breathes in through your nose in order to calm the zoo in your stomach.
A flaming head of red hair came down to ear level with you on your right side.
“nervous, l/n? don’t be. Freddie and I have got your back, these serpents won’t lay a finger on your pretty little head” George’s tone was assuring but the smirk set on his lips told a different story. You had an overwhelming feeling that the twins were up to no good on this particular Friday night.
“Georgie’s right. No one is gonna get to our precious little y/n as long as we’re around”
you had to look up to make eye contact with the older twin, a grin gracing his pretty face and a simple wink thrown your way sent your heart into a frenzy. The hound in your rib cage couldn’t be ignored and neither could the whitening of your knuckles from holing the broom in your hands far too tight.
George stands up straight to be eye level with his other half
“Heard Malfoy barking orders to his sorry excuse of a team” Fred’s eyebrow quirks and silently beckons his twin to continue.
“Take out the twins he says”
Fred snickers and knocks his twin with his right elbow “like that’s the easiest thing in the world”
“I say we do something about it”
There it is. that’s the plan, take down the opposing team one by one, in whatever way they can.
Your head lifts and your ears perk as an idea comes flying through your head. The brothers are being rowdy and it somehow only grows your confidence and the bright idea cooking up.
“alright. I want in” the mischievous tone drips off your voice and the smirk gracing your lips can't be hidden when two hands mold to either shoulder and the pair are once again at your ear level and absolutely baffled at your statement. Sure, you got in with the twin’s pranks from time to time but you swore off foul play and mischief on the pitch; You were not about to risk the house cup for a laugh. When they don’t speak you continue.
“If the two of you keep Crabbe and Goyle distracted and off my back i’ll knock Pucey and Warrington around a bit to give dear old harry here enough time to catch the snitch” Your eyes were no longer fixated on the back of Angelia’s robes but instead giving side looks to the boys.
Angelia bounces on her feet and notates her neck back and forth before becoming completely still, almost like she’s trying to list the pros and cons of letting the three of you potentially sabotage your finale game.
She takes a deep breath out.
“If you three mess this up for us, you’re all benched for the first quarter of next season and if anyone asks I had zero involvement in this plan of yours”
You share a sly grin with the twins and George stands up straight while twisting his broom in his hands while Fred lingers by your side, you can practically see the gears turning in his head.
His mouth comes closer to your ear “If Pucey and Warrington are giving you too much of a hard time, let me know and I’ll give ‘em a fright, yeah?” His honey brown eyes scan your face with a sincere look while searching for a reassuring answer. You know that even if you had told Fred that you can take care of yourself if it even looked like the boys were giving you a rough time he’d have them off their brooms faster than you would ever realise.
All you can do is nod before Angie let’s the team know it’s kick off time. You all fly to your positions and you give Fred and George a side glance and nod, getting two smirks in return.
Madam Hooch kicks off the game and it’s on. The quaffle is in your hands and Warrington is tailing you while trying to dodge the twins, with little success. Angelina comes into your view and quicker than your body can process, you’re passing the quaffle on and scoring. Lee’s voice comes over the microphone.
“Brilliant set up and goal from l/n and Johnson! Gryffindor takes the lead by 10 points”
Angie looks over her shoulder and gives you a thumbs up before flying off ready to score again. That’s how the game goes for another fifteen minutes, you and angie scoring three times before Harry and Draco get the snitch in their sights. they’re flying down near the house stands and you easily spot Hermione, Ron and Ginny’s voices within the crowd of students.
The sheer excitement and pride you’re feeling puts you in a momentary state of bliss before a beater’s bat is flying your way. You narrowly miss it and spot Marcus Flint sporting a sickening smirk.
“Maybe if your bite matched your bark, your team would actually have a good chance at winning tonight, y/n” Pucey laughed before following flint toward the hoops.
This interaction meant little to nothing to you because everyone on that pitch and in the stands, including Pucey, knew damn well that you could take any one of the quidditch players at hogwarts one on one. But just because you weren’t bothered by the comment didn’t mean that someone else felt the same.
******
Fred knew how to keep his cool during games. After playing with his brothers since he could walk, he quickly figured out that you can’t always take your anger out on people flying on magic broomsticks a good 150 metres in the air.
So when he watched Pucey make a snide remark about you he didn’t know how to handle the overflow of anger crossing through him other than to take a page out of George’s book and attempt (and almost succeed) to knock the slytherin boy off of his broom completely.
The bludger sent flying towards one of the opposing chasers was anything but accidental and it was all George needed to know that it was time to show Malfoy and his team what taking down beaters actually looked like.
Your thoughts were racing when George caught up by your side diverging bludgers away from you
“I told you your pretty little head wasn’t getting touched this game” The younger twin smirked while diverging a bludger. George followed you to the hoops and cheered you now when you scored, once again putting Gryffindor back in the lead.
The game went on and on for another hour and a half; both teams going back and forth with no sign of mercy.
Alicia and Katie were on a roll. Their technique was unmatched when it came to scoring double goals, you were lingering behind incase they needed you as a distraction or for a pass off but when Katie yet again scores for your team it is immediately known that the odds are once again in your favour.
*****
With the quaffle once again in your clutches and the hoops in your direct eyeline nothing was set to get in your way. Pucey was trailing behind you with taunts and smart ass comments trying to throw you off your game.
“C’mon y/n, you think that’s what it’s gonna take ta get rid of me?” You could barley hear him over the wind in your ears until he was right up beside you with Warrington now joining him on your left. You were cornered.
“now now boys, wouldn’t want to get in my way would you? it’s not gonna end well If you keep riding my tail like this” The ever prominent smirk on your face was matched with Lee’s voice playing over the microphone letting the crowd know of the current score.
The two boys stopped mid air after you flew away from them catching up with the twins.
“Malfoy’s idea to shake up the twins a bit. Let’s see if we an give them a scare and get one of their star chasers out of the way” Warrington’s eyes scanned the pitch and found his teammates equally malicious ones.
Adrian hesitated before getting Goyle’s attention. The younger beater flew over to his older teammates whilst simultaneously trying to focus on the important game at hand.
Adrian spoke harshly and hastily “Draco needs more time to catch the snitch. It’s time to do what we talked about.” Goyle understood immediately and got into position.
Unknowing of the plan the opposing team had been coming up with against yourself and your teammates you continued on as you would.  Making plays, avoiding bludgers and scoring. Fred and George were doing their best against Goyle and Crabbe but it was becoming obvious that Fred was becoming angry and his plays and hits were getting sloppy. His usual cool, confident demeanour had disappeared and it seemed the Goyle was successfully riling up the older twin.
Your attention was now split between the game and the boy you fancied. Angelina could see this and ordered you and Alicia swap on the pitch, finally sending you off for a much needed break. Alicia had made it onto the pitch fine and was now in a solid position to help Angie and Katie in what would hopefully be the final play.
The wind had begun to pick up since the start of the game, blowing your robes and hair all over the place. You were too slow to notice the bludger flying at a great speed toward you with a weasley twin hot on it’s trail.
A head of flaming red hair came into your view and a string of cursed seemed to follow. Fred was now positioned completely in front of you, his bat held high after a hit.
“Can’t catch the snitch so you get your pathetic excuse of a team to do dirty work? Thats low, Malfoy.” Fred’s voice was booming and the anger basically seethed out of him, turning his face the same colour of his hair.
“Ya know, Malfoy if you didn’t spend so much time playing dirty and actually trained your team maybe you’d have a chance of beating Gryffindor” George cupped his mouth to make his voice echo all over the stands.
Your stomach bubbled with anger when Fred turned around to face you.
“Angelina would have my head on a platter if she knew I encouraged you to get back out there. Have a rest, let the girls take over. Georgie and I have a bone to pick with Malfoy and his minions and we wouldn’t want you getting in the way of that.” His tone was comforting as he lightly took your chin between his thumb and pointer finger before flying off while swinging his bat.
You watched bludgers intensely follow the Slytherin players from the players stands, the feeling of Fred’s hand still settling into your skin. He kept his word the remainder of the game. All the players, especially Warrington and Malfoy, got a fright once Fred left you in the stands and if it wasn’t for harry finally catching the snitch you’re certain he and his twin would’ve put the whole team in the hospital wing for at least a week.
*****
The game had finally ended after almost four hours of play. You were tired but proud of your team and their talent. Fred and George flew down to where you were now standing on the stands and gave you a big, sweaty, exhausted hug.
“You guys were amazing tonight! Slytherin didn’t see what hit them” you lazily joked, a lopsided smile now present on your face. George patted your head affectionately
“Yeah well if it wasn’t for Freddie over here you probably would be in the hospital wing right about now.” George elbowed his brother and gave you both the biggest smile he could muster before mounting his broom to fly to his dorm. “I’m off to have a shower and hit the hay, being the best beater in Hogwarts has it’s toll on a man’s body ya know” a light yawn came from the boy’s mouth before he flew into the stars, the only thing you could see where his robes fluttering behind him.
Fred’s right arm makes it’s way around your shoulders and you lean into his side while wrapping your arm around his waist
“I don’t think you will ever fully understand just how much you mean to me, Freddie” you spoke softly
“y/n you mean everything and more to me.” His tired gaze found it’s way to you “I told you i’d give those nutters a fright, didn’t I? was only returning the favour, really. Couldn’t let them misplace a hair on your head now could I?” He spoke a-matter-a-factly and your other arm wrapped around his middle, with him placing a delicate kiss to the top of your head
“we bleed red and gold, baby. I’m always gonna have your back, on and off the pitch; I’m in it for the long haul” your head tiredly cuddled into his chest
“In it for the long haul, ay? good ‘cause I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

Holiday Traffic ~ Kim Taehyung
Tumblr media
Your eyes rolled as you stared out of the window at all the passing cars. The tap of your feet nervously against the bottom of the car was beginning to get to Taehyung too as he gripped the steering wheel tightly, praying for a miracle to get the traffic moving again.
Neither of you could remember the last time you’d moved more than a few metres, and whilst the city always got a bit busier during the holidays, it was never this bad.
“We’d be quicker just walking,” you frowned, throwing your head back to look up at the roof of the car. “Why don’t we just dump the car for the night, it’ll still probably be in the exact same position tomorrow?”
Taehyung’s eyes glanced across at you, as tempting as that offer was, he wasn’t quite as prepared to pay the fine that would probably come with it. “I’m sure it’ll start moving soon,” he tried to reassure you, weakly smiling.
Your eyes continued to roll as you stared ahead at what felt like an endless line of traffic in front of the two of you. Each car you passed by had the same disgruntled passengers like the two of you, no one liked to be stuck in traffic, especially at Christmas.
The only thing you were thankful for was the heat that came from the car, dressed in your costume for tonight’s office Christmas party seemed like a great idea, until you were handed your costume by your boss.
Taehyung knew what your boss was up to when you revealed the costume to him, but he tried to remain calm. He couldn’t deny what a cute elf you made, your knee-high striped socks and short green dress somehow perfectly emphasised what a great body you had.
Every so often, you’d catch him glancing across at you, smiling weakly as you brought your legs into your chest to try and stop yourself from freezing.
“We’re going to be so late,” you continued to groan, only making Taehyung chuckle more. “I bet I won’t get the Christmas bonus now; it’ll go to someone else.”
“Missing out on the bonus isn’t the end of the world,” Taehyung tried to reassure you, “if the traffic moves soon, I promise I’ll get us there in time.”
Your head shook, “knowing you, you’ll wind up with a ticket, and that is no good for anyone.”
His shoulders shrugged as he turned away from you, edging the car a couple of metres forwards as the cars began to move, only coming to a quick stop again a few moments later.
You became more and more impatient as you sat in a standstill, looking out at the glances of people looking at your hair and makeup didn’t help the anxiety that was growing within.
“Maybe I should just call and let them know we’re going to be late,” you suggested, grabbing for your phone, but Taehyung’s hand quickly stopped you.
“You’re freaking out, we’re not going to be late, I promise. It won’t be long before the traffic starts moving, we knew it would be busy, that’s why you made me leave two hours early in the first place,” he reminded you with a light chuckle, “we still have an hour before it starts.”
“It’s Christmas Taehyung, all these people are probably driving into the city for trips and meetings,” you sighed, “I just wish I could click my fingers, and everyone would start moving, but I don’t think even Santa is powerful enough to do that.”
It was the same every year, living in the city meant it always got chaotic. Usually, you didn’t mind, but driving in such a huge crowd dressed as an elf wasn’t quite how you planned your evening. The longer you waited, the more your impatience began to grow.
“My boss knew what he was doing when he made me wear this stupid costume, how many people do you reckon are laughing as they drive by?” You asked, throwing your arms into the air.
Taehyung’s hand came across and rested onto your thigh, “nobody is laughing at you, if they have any sense then they’ll notice how cute you look. I’ve seen plenty of kids smiling as they driven by though, so at least that’s one good thing you can take from this.”
Slowly your head nodded, although his words didn’t make you feel much better. Each time the car jolted forwards you’d given up with leaping forwards in hope, instead choosing to just sit back and not hold eye contact with a single person you passed.
“You make a really sexy elf you know,” Taehyung suddenly whispered.
“I look like a fool, now I remember why I hate Christmas parties so much.”
“That’s nonsense, I might have to buy you a few pairs of those socks for after tonight.”
Your eyes widened at his wide smile, the cheekiness that you adored so much was right in front of you with no sign of hiding. “You’re being serious, aren’t you?” You continued to doubt as his head nodded back at you.
“A small part of me wants to just find a way to turn this car around and head back home,” he grinned.
Your eyes lit up just at the mention, “I wouldn’t stop you, in fact I’d definitely encourage you. Maybe I could just ring my boss and tell him that I’m sick.”
It was almost like you jinxed yourself as in that moment the traffic began to move, but just as you expected for the stop to happen, it never came. You glanced forward and noticed what had happened with one of the other lanes opening up after an accident had been cleared.
“Looks like we’re heading to the office,” Taehyung teased, spotting how disappointed you were. “You must be relieved; you would never want to miss the party.”
“I hate you,” you grumbled folding your arms across your chest, “are you sure you don’t want to just turn off at the intersect. Tae, this party is the last thing I want to go to, I’m dressed as an elf, it’s like I belong in a department store.”
Yet again Taehyung couldn’t help but laugh, squeezing tighter at your leg. “Let’s just got and show our faces, pick up the presents from the Secret Santa, maybe pinch a bit of food from the buffet and then I promise we can come back home, we don’t have to stay long.”
You nodded, holding out your pinkie for him to lock his in with. “If we stay for more than two hours you can spend tonight on the sofa and this elf will go to bed alone.”
“There is no way I will allow that to happen,” he smirked, trailing his eyes down your body once again. “It’ll be far too cold for a little elf to go to bed all by themselves.”
“You best make sure you get me out of that party as soon as possible then.”
You glanced out of the window as soon enough your office got closer, it was a place you usually loved to be, but not tonight. Taehyung could see how hard you were pretending to smile, noticing the leg bounce reappear as you got closer, just like it did earlier in the traffic.
His hand rested over your leg again, “you were scared we were going to be late, and now you’re anxious we’re going to be early. Think of it this way, the sooner we get there, the sooner we leave.”
“I guess you’re right, but if just one person laughs at this costume, I’m coming straight home. My boss probably saw me coming when he knocked on the door and handed me this.”
“Maybe he thought you’d look beautiful, because you do,” he chimed.
You always appreciated his kindness and how much he tried to make you smile. “You’re sweet, but not even a supermodel could pull this costume off. It’s like someone pushed me over in a Christmas aisle and everything just stuck to me.”
“You’re stressing,” he assured you, “trust me, the costume looks great, the party won’t be as bad as you think, and I’ll be by your side the entire time. Even if you’re not having a good time, just fake a smile and everyone will leave you alone.”
As much as you weren’t looking forward to the party, you couldn’t deny your excitement to spend time with Taehyung. If there was one person who was going to make you feel a little bit cute as an elf, it was definitely him.
“If nothing else, I’ll keep reminding you how much of a sexy elf you make all night long,” he whispered.
“You’re going to get me in trouble if someone hears you talking like that,” you scolded him, “just stay on your best behaviour until we get home at least.”
“I am not making any promises, especially when you look as hot as that.”

Chapter 2 - Code Polkadot
It was a race against time. His ring beeped when she passed the Ministère de la Santé, and her own Miraculous beeped in front of the ambassade des Pays-Bas. People watched in horror as she jumped and zipped across the road. She could see their stares, could hear their whispers. They were probably wondering what Ladybug was doing, holding Chat Noir and running madly across the road, both covered in blood, dust and rubble. She glared at anybody that came within a glaring distance.
“WHERE’S THE HOSPITAL?” she shouted at someone who had just stopped on a bike next to her. A familiar face, but her vision was so blurred by tears and sweat that she couldn’t quite make out who the person was. She shrugged off the idea. Four different hands pointed in the same direction, immediately followed by another dozen. She attempted a grateful smile, but was certain, from the frightened reactions of the people on the road, that she had barely managed to put up a painful grimace.
She jumped across in the direction shown and immediately saw her reflection glaring at her from the windows of the building in front of her. She didn’t even stop to consider what she looked like. The words on the building's windows said Hôpital Necker, but they also mentioned "University". She looked around to find the blue "H" that clearly marked a public hospital and saw it just a few metres away, at the side of a small marble arched gate, which led into a courtyard.
She landed in front of it and burst inside; her eyes scanned the courtyard until she saw at her left a door manning the sign “Accueil”. As she walked inside and looked around, she saw lines of metallic black seats. Mothers and children moved to give her space, as well as the people queuing and standing in front of the reception check in. She heard whispers around the room, mothers consoling their children who were asking what happened to Chat Noir. Why were there so many kids? All the patients had children with them; that was weird.
“I need a doctor, quickly!” she said bluntly at the woman sitting at the check in desk. To her disappointment the receptionist was on the phone, so taken with looking at the screen in front of her that she hadn’t even glanced in her direction. Marinette’s gaze quickly ran to Chat Noir’s face. The side of his head was covered in blood, which had mixed together with the dirt and the pieces of mortar in his hair and had made a sort of paste that had glued to his and even to her own suit. Her heart raced faster in her chest. She needed to hurry.
“Have you got your child’s carnet de santé and carte mutuelle, and your carte vitale please?” came from behind the green desk the voice of said receptionist, who stretched her left hand out to her, her eyes still focused on the screen in front of her, her ear still glued to the phone receiver.
Marinette gulped. Child? She looked around again. There were plenty of colourful drawings and cartoon characters embossed on the walls of the reception desk and pictures of children with many different types of illnesses.
Oh yes. Hôpital Necker, the child hospital. That’s right. She had heard of it in the news so many times, looking for donations for their research.
“He’s not my child…” she said. If the situation hadn’t been so serious she was sure Chat would have found it funny.
The middle aged brunette in front of her took her eyes off her screen, put a thick pair of glasses on and gave her a practised look of pure boredom before her brown eyes widened. “Excuse me ma’am,” she said to the person she was talking to on the phone. “I have an emergency here. You will need to redial.” She hung up and dropped the phone receiver.
“La… Ladybug? Oh Jesus… Chat Noir? What… This is a child’s hospital Ladybug… we have adult patients, but they...they’re not our speciality...” She started stammering and paled considerably.
Marinette felt a gush of anger spreading all over her gut as she admitted it, hastily, “I’m fifteen… and I expect him to be around my age. I don’t care if it’s a hospital for children, for aliens or for wild animals. He could die if we don’t act fast. He needs help. NOW.”
People all around started whispering.
“Fifteen?”
“Oh my God.”
“They are kids.”
“Only kids.”
“Maman is Chat Noir really younger than my big brother?”
“Sure.” The woman at the desk picked up the phone and pushed a couple of buttons on it. “Dr. Richter? Yes, Sylvie here at reception. We have an emergency. Oh you know already? Good… code polkadot you say? What is it, I’ve never heard of it. Ah okay... Cool. Yes, they know. They’re 15! Yes. I hear you, yes. Crazy! I’ll tell her. Leave it to me.” She stood and ran out of the accueil’s room; Marinette could only follow. “They’re already waiting for you in front of the SUSI (2).”
Marinette paled. “But I thought this was…” she muttered, but the woman interrupted her.
“Ladybug, you’re in the wrong place. This is the reception for booked appointments and routine visits. The SUSI is over there.” She pointed to the left. “You’re probably going to be faster than the bed. It’s the other side of that rooftop.”
Marinette gave her a grateful look and a nod. “Thank you… Sylvie?”
“Good luck, Ladybug,” she said smiling warmly. “You saved my boyfriend when he was akumatised. This is the least I can do.”
Marinette nodded again and held Chat firmly, jumping on the rooftop as fast as her legs could take her. She immediately saw that three men dressed in blue were waiting at the back entrance of the next building, near what looked like a gurney and an ambulance. She jumped off right beside them.
“We’ve been waiting for you, Ladybug. Nadja Chamack rang the hospital to warn us of your arrival. Please allow me to take him,” one of the nurses said, as he tried to take Chat from her arms.
She initially resisted, but then heard Chat’s ring giving a louder beep, so she gave in. “Please, we need to hurry. One minute and our transformations will fall,” she pleaded. The man’s gaze became stern. He held Chat firmly and moved steadily towards the gurney next to him. He carefully put Chat on it and quickly pushed the gurney inside the building, trying to move it hastily to the corridor leading to a door labelled ‘PU - Urgences’ (1).
A loud beep came from her earrings, and in a flash of pink, Marinette’s transformation fell as she sped next to the nurses, not even trying to hide her face from the crowd that had gathered all around her. Her gaze stayed firmly focused on Chat and on the nurses who were putting what she thought could be an oxygen mask on his mouth and nose, taking advantage of a moment when the gurney stopped because of the crowd. She didn’t even pay any attention to Tikki, who had come out of the earrings and had looked at her worryingly before flying into her purse.
“Ew, what’s that?”
“A giant bug maman!”
“Does Ladybug keep bugs in her purse?”
“WILL YOU ALL PLEASE GO FASTER? HIS SUIT HELPS HIM, BUT THIS COULD BE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIS LIFE OR HIS DEATH! HE’S ONLY GOT A FEW MORE SECONDS TO SPARE!” She could swear that she saw a few flashes and tried to cover her face as best she could. Suddenly she felt someone’s arms wrap around her as a jacket was thrown over her head.
Tumblr media
“There’s nothing else to see people, let the gurney pass!” a male voice said. She knew that voice… where had she heard that voice before?
They went through the doors of the PU and walked hastily a little longer until the gurney stopped and moved ninety degrees. The jacket was removed from her head as she heard the zipping sound of curtains being pulled all around them. A quick glance to her surroundings made her realise that they were in a sort of cubicle, protected from the view by a set of blue paper curtains, and the doctors and nurses were surrounding Chat, plugging different cables and machines all around him.
“Where do I plug the oximeter?” one of the nurses asked. She looked very young and a bit pale. She held a sort of peg in her hands, plugged into a machine and tried to attach it to one of Chat’s cat ears. “Nope. Does he have human ears?” She moved his hair at the side of his head and Marinette heard her sighing in relief as she attached the peg to something.
“What happened to him, how did he get hurt, Miss Ladybug?” she heard a doctor ask and she suddenly looked up, realising that the man was talking to her.
“Oh… he fell off the Eiffel Tower…” she started to say. Then she heard the last beep of her partner’s ring and in a flash of green his transformation fell. As Plagg twirled out of the ring and fell with a loud sob on top of Chat’s head, Marinette couldn’t stop her gaze from following the black kwami and running straight to the blond boy laying on the bed.
The plastic mask covered almost all his face, but even with that on, there was not a chance in hell that Marinette wouldn’t recognise his blond mane, now combed neatly to the side of his head and clean from the dirt, but not from the blood that plastered the side of his face. Pale; he was as pale as a ghost. She only caught a glimpse of his face before someone’s arms wrapped around her and held her tight. But that glimpse was enough.
No.
NO!
NOO! It couldn’t be...
“Gamin? Talk to me! Are you okay?” she heard Plagg say. Then, she saw something red dashing around the room, grabbing Plagg, oblivious of his objections, and disappearing behind the curtain. “Tikki, you don’t understand! I need to tell Pigtails! He’s been poi—” the little God of destruction whimpered as he was dragged away. She wasn't sure, but she thought she had seen tears at the corner of Plagg’s electric green eyes. Even her own eyes filled with tears, her chest shaken by loud sobs.
“Mar-Ladybug, it’s okay. He will be safe,” someone said, hugging her tight, but it sounded far away, like a whisper from a different time. "Marinette can you hear me? It's me, Luka," he added in a lower tone of voice. But all Marinette could hear were the sudden angry beeps of the machines in front of her, having gone mad the second Chat's transformation fell. A horde of doctors and nurses rushed to the gurney, busying themselves with plugging in more cables and hooking up strange machines to Chat's body and face.
“Sorry, Mlle. Ladybug, can you please wait over there? We need space!” Marinette heard the voice of one of the doctors say, and she felt Luka’s arms wrapping tighter around her as he tried to move her backwards.
She resisted sternly. That face. She had just given one quick glance to that face. She had to see it again, to see that it wasn’t the face she thought. She wriggled out of Luka’s hold and jerked towards the gurney, peeking around the doctors at work and trying to give another quick look, earning quite a few glares from a couple of nurses.
The neatly combed blond mane framed the handsome face of the boy she would recognise among thousands. As pale as a ghost. His once peachy lips now dry and blue under the transparent plastic mask. His beautiful green eyes closed. Why of all people did it have to be him?
She screamed.
"It's okay, Mar-Ladybug! He will be alright!" Luka's voice said again, his arms firmly wrapped around her shoulders to stop her from lunging straight to the bedside.
"ADRIEEEEN!!!" Her heart-wrenching screams came loud and clear in between the sobs that rocked her chest and lungs.
"Marinette? What… Adrien? Oh girl you must be kidding me! Mar… La-Ladybug?" This was Alya's voice. She heard Luka shushing her, and Alya’s eyes widened, as she corrected herself. What was Alya doing here?
Suddenly, a pair of extra arms wrapped around her from her left side. Another pair from the right, in a vice grip that kept her from going to him, that kept pushing her backwards.
A female voice spoke, the masked emotions trickling in through the tremble in her voice. “You can't go over there! You'll only get in the way of the doctors working on him! Stay here!”
“ADRIE—” A hand cupped over her mouth, barely able to muffle the sounds of heartbreak seeping out of her.
"Shhhhh! Do you want everyone to know, Ma-Ladybug?" It was Kagami's voice. She nearly didn’t recognise it, as the usually confident and blunt tone of the Japanese girl was missing completely. She sounded shaken and emotionally drained. Marinette darted her gaze around to notice that Alya was standing at her right and Kagami at her left, and they were both holding her tight, supporting Luka who held her from behind.
They were all there with her. She wondered when they arrived and how they knew where they were. Nadja probably had told them where she was heading, and they were allowed through the door of the PU before detransforming, Marinette thought, but the sight of Adrien being picked up carefully by one of the nurses and transferred into a hospital bed stopped the last of her rational thoughts from coming through. New sobs shook her chest, as new tears rolled off her cheeks. She buried her face in Alya's chest not even attempting to stop sobbing desperately.
Because Chat was Adrien. And Adrien could die. And it was her fault…

[Author’s Note: Oh Hi there! This fic is now over a YEAR old! Woah!! ]
[ Summary: Ladybug figures out her Lucky Charm, just in the nick of time. ]
[ Posted on Ao3 ] [ Chapter 1 ] [ Chapter 14 ] [ Chapter 16 ]
Ladybug was up high, holding on to the top of the Eiffel Tower like a cliche reenactment of that Dancing in the Rain scene where the man is swinging around a lamp post. Only, she’s over 300 metres above the ground instead of just one, and she’s admittedly quite terrified of looking directly downward. Still, she pushes down the instinct to be terrified and looks out, beyond the surrounding park below, towards the glowing lines still spreading through the city.
“Map, roads, landmarks, personal pins, lost items…” Ladybug’s mind tried to piece together all the little clues she had gathered. She looked down to her hand, a small roll of red paper clutched in it. Letting it unfurl, she took note of the various numbers and letters printed in black ink. There was almost a pattern to it, though they made no particular sense to her.
“Map, landmarks, numbers, map, landmarks, numbers,” she repeated to herself, before it clicked. “Numbers and personal pins, all on a map. These are coordinates-! Ack! ” She held tighter to the tower, her momentary distraction making her tilt a bit too far out.
Still continuing to avoid looking down, Ladybug took one more glance to the skyline, and a certain marker caught her eye. It was one of the unique ones, further out towards the edges of the growing map. It was moving. But it wasn’t along any of the main roads. At least not above ground. And the Akuma had mentioned the subway.
“More than just a map,” Ladybug realized. “Slowly growing like a buffer, keeping track of places and active transit routes... This is a GPS! Of course! Atlas lost something, now they’re trying to track it down!” She looked down toward her hand, “My Luck Charm must be-” and she saw the ground, far, far below.
And Ladybug thought she was scared earlier when she was swinging precariously through the streets of Paris by the cord of a yo-yo.
It didn’t help that an unexpected beeping suddenly invaded her ears just as wind whipped hair into her eyes, and by instinct both hands went to her ears, eyes screwed shut.
Ladybug gasped, breath catching and body stiffening as she realized she was tilting away from her perch on the tower once again. Only now, she didn’t have a hand holding her to it, and the arm that finally reached out to grab for something, anything , was a moment too late.
There was no scream as she fell, only the rush of air around her, contrasting to the lack of breathing in her chest. Her two masked eyes opened out of fright, flinching from the wind. For a moment, she didn’t know which way was up or down, until her peripheral saw the top observation deck pass by in a blur.
She reached for her yo-yo clumsily, and knowing every second counted toward saving herself only made her muscles refuse to cooperate. Barely managing to get a finger through the yo-yo’s ring, Ladybug threw her only weapon out, towards the beams of the tower, hoping beyond hope that it would catch hold.
Her luck held, and the yo-yo caught.
But she was still falling, of course, and as the ground grew closer and the string drew taunt, Ladybug squeaked as she was suddenly swinging into the force of her own pendulum.
She swung past the ground between the legs of the Eiffel Tower and went back upwards, straight up through the open center of the first observation deck.
Her breath caught again as gravity slowed her upward trek, and for a moment, she felt herself suspended in the open air.
That moment stretched longer.
Before her brain could question the fact she was closer to floating than actually reaching the peak of upward lift, gravity reclaimed Ladybug, and she was falling again.
“Ack! Gotta stop gotta stop-!”
Tugged at the string of her yo-yo as she went, and it expanded, dropping her closer to the ground than before. At the moment she swung parallel to the ground, she gave another tug, and the yo-yo’s main body, wherever it had caught on the tower above, let itself free, and Ladybug tumbled into a roll across the ground.
“Owch… I really need to get better at this,” She grumbled to herself as she staggered back to standing. A black clad figure slid into place beside her, a hand reaching out to give balance, the other with an extended baton held out defensively.
“You sure do, Buggy,” Oncilla said. “Welcome back to the battle. Sorry I couldn’t catch you myself, Atlas is surprisingly tough to distract.”
Ladybug shook her head, “Think nothing of it, I’m fine. Thanks for giving me the time I needed to figure out what to do.”
“No problem! So what’s the plan now?” Oncilla asked as she picked up a still unsteady Ladybug and jumped out of the way of Atlas as they charged forward. It had barely been a minute since she left the battle to call for her Lucky Charm, but Ladybug already felt like the last time she had been moving around this much had been an hour ago. She was really going to need to get used to this whole stop-and-go process, and hopefully soon.
“My Lucky Charm gave me coordinates. I noticed that this whole thing, all the changes to the city, it’s a giant GPS system, tuned in to the Akuma’s own needs.”
“How does that help us fight it?” Oncilla asks, puzzled.
“We- we might not have to, I think that’s the point. Sometimes, the best thing to do in a fight is to not fight, but to help ,” Ladybug realized. “Quick, put me down, I need to get Atlas’s attention.”
Oncilla did as asked, and Ladybug immediately started waving her arms over her head.
“Truce! We call a truce!! I know how we can help each other without needing to fight!”
The Akuma paused in their attack, before flying straight to Ladybug and stopping directly in front of her, an intimidating figure that made the new hero flinch. Oncilla stood close, tense.
“Explain,” Atlas commanded with a voice of steel. “You have 30 seconds.”
“You’re connected to the map that's imposed over the city, right?” A nod in response. “Well, I think we found your items that you lost. At least, sort of.”
“ Sort of? ” they growled, prompting the Black Cat user to step closer and growl back.
“You’ll have to confirm it for us,” Ladybug appeased gently. “I have coordinates, they should lead you where you need to go since you know how to use the map. But…” She paused, glancing at her partner before continuing more confidently, “But we have to trade. Your Akumatized item, for my Lucky Charm. You get what you need, and we get what we need. A fair trade, right?”
There’s a pause, stretched out by held breaths and the flickering of a butterfly outline over eyes.
Atlas glanced at Ladybug's earrings, just as they started to beep for a second time, and the hero gulped. Then, the supervillain stepped back.
“You have a deal,” Atlas proclaimed, clearly ignoring Hawk Moth’s interruption. The two heroes let out relieved breaths. “But you’re coming with me. If I don’t get what I want, you’re both going to pay dearly.”
Oncilla and Ladybug nod in understanding, Ladybug a bit nervous in contrast to Oncilla’s confidence. No, it was pride, directed at Ladybug. “You’re doing great, Little Lady,” the Black Cat hero reassured with a grin. “This will be over soon. Let’s go.”
And with that, Ladybug hands her Lucky Charm to Atlas, who in turn hands over their own item. It was nothing more than small, shaped sticky notes meant for organization. It felt unnerving in Ladybug’s hand, something so small and simple able to be used for something so strong and menacing.
The two heroes then followed Atlas as they pinpointed the exact location of the coordinates. It was near one of the personal landmarks, a place Ladybug didn’t know, but Atlas clearly knew it. After some frustrated searching, another round of beeping from the earrings, and a couple tense moments where the heroes thought the Akuma might blow their top, the missing items were found.
Atlas held the pack of calligraphy and felt tip pens like they meant the world to them.
“Thanks,” they said quietly, genuinely. They handed the no longer needed Lucky Charm back to Ladybug with an appreciative nod. “Do what you need to do. I don’t need Hawk Moth any longer. I can deal with my own battles myself.”
Ladybug turned to Oncilla, smiling big with the overwhelming emotions of an unexpected victory. “Want to do the honors?” she asked as she held out the Akumatized sticky notes.
“I’d be happy to,” Oncilla purred, taking the item in her ringed hand. “Cataclysm!”
The sticky notes disintegrated, and a dark butterfly emerged like it was hatching from a cocoon. Ladybug, with an encouraging nudge from Oncilla that also served as a reminder, took out her yo-yo once more, activated its ability to purify, and caught the little insect.
“Bye-bye, little butterfly,” she whispered to the creature as it fluttered away. Then, with a deep breath, she clutched the Lucky Charm before tossing it high; “Miraculous Ladybug!”
Ladybug jumped back with a squeak, surprised by the sudden burst of black, red, and white magic from the item, watching in awe as it swept down the streets and into the distance.
A fourth set of beeps rang in her ears, drawing her attention away with a start.
“I need to go! Oncilla, can you-?”
“I can cover the civilian and make sure they get home; don’t worry, I got this! See you later, Your Ladyship ,” the other hero reassured and teased with a playful wink.
Ladybug giggled and flushed at the whole embarrassing ordeal. “Yes, of course- See you around then, Lancelot ,” she managed to return the tease through her flustered state, before throwing out her yo-yo and pulling herself back towards home.

warnings: smuts drugs, swearing
Requested but i got carried away. You buy new lingerie and Sarah sends it to Rafe, he then goes crazy with list and confessed that he’s had feelings for a while.
Tumblr media
I thought that buying some new lingerie was the best way to give myself a confidence boost. I was sick to death of the number of girls who just threw themselves at Rafe, just so they could get laid and say they slept with Rafe Cameron or so that they could get high for free. Rafe tended to think with his dick often. So not a bad idea. I was sick of it; I had grown up with Rafe. After all I was Topper’s sister, and he and Rafe were fairly close even being a couple of years between the two. I had spent a majority of high school telling myself and my friends that I was not in love with the eldest Cameron sibling, but when he went off to college and I stayed on the island, I realised that  I was in fact, in love with Rafe Cameron. However, it was too late. He was on the mainland learning the trade of business like his father, so that one day he could take over the business. Soon enough though Rafe returned home, but he was never the same after that. He started to get drunk every night, always finding an excuse to drown his sorrows in booze, he went to every party being held over the weekend and sometimes during the week, then he started the drugs, at first it was only weed and he had offered a joint to me a few times which I gladly accepted to destress myself from the previous week. But then out of the blue Rafe met Barry, from there it was all downhill. Barry introduced him to cocaine. That was when I had had enough, I was fed up with his attitude, fed up with the numerous girls hanging off him at every party, just fed up with him in general. And according to Topper, Rafe had started to notice. He noticed that I was no longer anywhere near him at parties, he noticed that when I was at his house, I would completely ignore him and head straight to Sarah’s room instead of stopping by his door and checking on him first. He noticed I started to not give a fuck about him and the way he wanted to live his life.
“Y/N you and I need to go shopping before the party tonight, I will not allow my best friend to sit in this room any longer and mope over my coke addict brother. We need to find you someone who will worship the ground you walk on. Or at least for the night anyway.” I had flopped myself face first onto Sarah’s bed upon my arrival.
“Do I have to go to this stupid party. Hell be there and I really don’t want to feel any worse than I already do.” I groaned into my propped-up arms as she hit me with a pillow, and I heard the door to her bedroom creek open. I shot up fairly quickly only to see a pair of ocean blue eyes stare back at me.
“You two discussing the party tonight?” he crossed his arms across his toned chest. His pupils were blown out, but I could always picture his perfect eyes.
“Yes, now please leave.” Sarah threw a pillow at his face, but he was able to quickly catch it before it hit his face.
“Then you will be pleased to know that it is being held here.” He threw the pillow back at me and left Sarah’s room. She turned to me with a sympathetic look. Tonight, just got worse.
Once Sarah and I got back from out shopping trip the party was fast approaching. Sarah and I raced up stairs to her bedroom but before I even stepped foot on the top step I crashed into a muscular chest. Trying not to lose my footing on the stairs I reached out to grab whatever was in front of me. Unfortunately for my heart I felt large biceps in my hands. I also felt those same strong arms wrap around my waist and pull me towards a toned torso. My heart felt like it was going to break out of my chest with how hard it was hammering against its confines.
“Careful Y/N, don’t need you falling for me before the party even starts.” His lips were millimetres away from my ear and caused me to shudder involuntarily.
“Y/N hurry up-.” I heard Sarah come out of her room looking for me. I pushed Rafe away from me and continued on my way to Sarah’s bedroom where she and I would be getting ready.
“Show me the new lingerie you bought today.” Sarah squealed as she got dressed in tight white jeans and a pastel blue crop top. I rolled my eyes at her but pulled on the navy-blue lacy lingerie I had bought while we were shopping. I looked at myself in the mirror of Sarah’s ensuite, I will admit I looked hot, I knew that these garments could make any man go crazy.
“Okay, I think I’m wearing this under whatever I wear tonight. And hopefully I get lucky.” I struck a pose against the door frame as Sarah started to click away at the camera on my phone.
“You know navy blue is his favourite colour right?” I blushed and rifled around in one of the shopping bags. I did know that, but I also knew that it was the best colour for my skin tone. Sarah threw a pair of black high waisted skinny jeans at me before I pulled out a navy-blue front tie up crop top out of the bag I had been digging through.
“We match!” we squealed together. Sarah’s bedroom door swung open as Rafe ran his fingers through his gelled back hair.
“Are the two of you done? Sarah Topper is waiting for you downstairs. Y/N just hurry up.” He turned away and I rolled my eyes. That boy was insufferable. Hot, but insufferable. We both groaned and linked arms before skipping out of her room and down the stairs. I was immediately ditched for my brother though. I found myself grabbing a red solo cup and filling it with beer.
I felt a pair of large hands land in my hips and spin me around trapping me between the counter and his body. Rafe. Of course it was. He leaned in close to me, I could already smell the vodka on his breath and his pupils were blown out. I didn’t even want to know how many lines he did.
“That new lingerie you’ve got on is fucking hot.” I felt his breath on the shell of my ear. I involuntarily shivered at his proximity.
“How do you know its new?” I blushed and pushed my hair behind my ear once again. His large hand came up to my face and his thumb ran across my left cheek.
“You sent them to me Y/N,”
“No I – Sarah.” My blood boiled; tonight was supposed to help me forget about my feelings for Rafe. I pushed him off me and slammed my beer down on the counter before storming off to the outside patio where I'm sure my brother was seated around the table doing lines that Rafe would have procured for the party. “Sarah Cameron!” I was able to grab her attention, but her eyes widened as she looked behind me. I spun around and nearly crashed into Rafe’s chest. I pushed him away from my body once again and stormed over to Sarah pulling her up from Topper’s lap and dragged her away from the other guests that were too high to really notice what was going on anyway. “You sent those photos to Rafe?!” I could feel my face heat up and I looked into her eyes as she played with her hair.
“I had to, I'm sick of watching the two of you dance around each other. You both like each other, just fuck already and get over it.” I took a deep breath and calmed down as his royal highness started walking over to us.
“I hate you but thank you.” I told her. She nodded and ran off. Rafe came back up to me.
“So, you didn’t actually send them to me then?” one of his hands wrapped around my waist as the other held the two open beer bottles in the other one. I plucked one out of his hand and took a long swig of the ice-cold beverage.
“No, I did not. Sarah had my phone and was taking photos of me while I was getting changed earlier. I'm sorry.” I felt myself rest my cheek on his toned chest as he pulled me closer.
“I still stand by what I said.  It was fucking hot, you don’t know how hard I got looking at them.” He whispered into my ear. I felt his hand make its way from my waist up my body softly and slowly. Very un-Rafe like ill admit. I felt his cool ring graze my neck before his large hand was wrapped around my throat. My breath hitched as Rafe smirked, there he was. “You are going to pay for how you made me feel before I even had time to grab a drink.” He squeezed slightly on my throat and the feel of the cool metal of his ring caused me to clench my thighs together. Suddenly I felt the cool air wrap around me again as he walked away from me. Sarah came back up to me once he was out of ear shot.
“He got you hot all bothered, didn’t he?” she asked, I nodded taking a deep breath and another long swig of the beer I had forgotten I was holding. She rubbed my shoulder gently and I found myself searching the back patio for his ocean blue eyes once more. “Top, Kelce and Rafe went down to the basement to pay some pool.” I nodded and she and I walked down to annoy the boys. I heard Topper groan at the sight of me and I flicked the back of his head.
“Just be thankful I'm not giving you an earful about doing cocaine, little brother.” He scoffed and wrapped his arms around Sarah as some more people piled into the basement to get more drugs off Rafe or to play pool with the boys. Sarah and I set up the pool table while Topper, Kelce and Rafe move over to the seating area to start doing more lines with some other people. One particular girl rubs her ass against Rafe before they sit down, and I feel myself get jealous. I felt Sarah try to hold me back as I make my way over to Rafe and lean slightly on the arm of the chair that Rafe’s sitting on. His left arm wrapped around my hips as he watches Top do a line. He pulls me on his lap with ease and leans into my ear.
“Lets get out of here.” He gently nips at the skin just below my ear. I shivered and wiggled my ass against his crotch before getting up and walking towards the stairs. I noticed Rafe lean down to Topper and whisper to him before he followed me. Once we got closer to his room, about a metre or two away from his door he grasped my throat with his left hand and pulled my body towards his chest. “Fuck you drive me crazy, Princess, you going to be a good girl for me tonight?” I gulped and nodded. “Answer me.” He growled in my ear.
“Yes.” He walked us slowly towards his door.
“Yes what?” he growled in my ear as he pushed my front into the door.
“Yes daddy.” I whimpered under his touch as he opened the door and pushed me in.
“Better.” He closed the door and pushed me up against it his lips attaching to mine in a heated passion filled daze. I wrapped my arms around his neck and his large hands found my hips and pulled my closer to him then pushed the both of us further into the door. His right hand lifted my left thigh and I wrapped it around his hip loosely. “Fuck you make me so horny baby, always teasing me.” His lips left mine and started to trail down my jaw and neck and found my sweet spot on the base of my neck. He nipped and sucked on it eliciting moans from my mouth before moving away to continue his assault on my neck leaving small little bruises in his wake. I leaned my head back giving him better access to my throat.
I pushed him off me, my leg coming back to rest on the floor beside my other one. I pushed on his chest until the back of his knees hit his bed and they buckled causing him to sit at the foot of his bed with his hands still resting on my hips. I knelt over his body pushing him further back slightly until he was no longer touching me with his hands, but instead was holding his body up so he could still look at me. I situated myself over his bulge in his shorts and placed my hands on his shoulders using his body to keep me up. I brought my lips close to his breathing heavily. I left a small kiss just under his ear as I felt him shudder underneath me, I started to suck gently while I ground my hips into his gently causing enough friction to hear him moan from under me. I continued littering his throat with little hickeys as I continued to grind my hips into his. He groaned and threw his head  back as I bite and sucked just under his adam’s apple I grinned and continued to do it, I got a little bit more rough with the grinding and biting and I felt him growl before he flipped us over, ruining my rein of dominance.
He pulled off my crop top leaving me in my high waisted tight black jeans and my new navy-blue lace bustier. He groaned causing his eyes to roll back into his head as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He quickly popped the button my jeans and tugged them down my legs leaving me in the matching navy panties and thoroughly exposed to Rafe like I never have before. I smirked at him as he licked his lips checking me out not so subtly before I moved my arms around to his chest and started to unbutton his shirt hastily. The look he was giving me as my nimble fingers undid his buttons made the warmth between my thighs intensify. I pushed the cotton fabric over his broad shoulders and shamelessly checked out his well-toned torso and arms as he started to undo his belt and buttons on his jeans. He leaned down to me once again, placing his hand around my throat squeezing gently as he littered my exposed breasts with small bruises. I helped him push down his jeans over his hips where they just ended up pooling by his ankles before he kicked them off. I felt his left hand start to creep up my thigh as his thigh was placed against my core.
“Your so wet for me already aren’t you baby?” he nipped just under my ear as he whispered. I nodded as his left hand landed and sharp smack to outer thigh.
“Yes daddy, please, I need to feel you.” I begged as I tried to rub against his thigh to cause some friction. I felt him nod against my shoulder pressing a small kiss with a gentle bite on my shoulder before I felt him move my panties to the side and slip two fingers into my pussy. I moaned digging my nails into his shoulder.
“You like that don’t you, princess, your mine tonight, and you won’t be able to walk tomorrow.” He promised him as I nodded and he went faster, adding in a third finger and his thumb started to draw figure eights on my clit. I moaned his name into his shoulder. “I want to hear you scream my name princess, don’t be shy, everyone is outside.” I nodded again as he continued his pace and bit down gently on my sweet spot at the base of my neck. I felt myself clench around his fingers, and I dug my nails into his shoulders harder as I came undone on his fingers. He ripped my panties off my body shrugging when I glared at him for ruining them. His black boxers slipped off his hips and my eyes widened at the size of his cock. I sucked in a large breath as I looked over his body that was illuminated by the few candles he had littering the surfaces in his room. I pushed my chest off the bed and reached behind me to undo my bustier and slip it off so that Rafe and I were both as naked and exposed as each other. Rafe threw it on the ground somewhere behind us and immediately took a nipple into his mouth as he assaulted the other one with his thumb and forefinger, rolling it and pinching it while he bit and sucked on my nipple. I felt his cock graze my entrance and my chest pushed further into his face. He switched nipples and pulled on the nipple that was hardened to a peak. He let my nipple go with a pop and he looked into my eyes, I noticed his eyes were the beautiful ocean blue I loved but there was lust and desire sitting on the top. But he was fully sober it had been a while since his last line of coke. I nodded to him and he pumped his cock in his hand a couple of times before he lined up with my entrance and pushed in the tip. He gave me a moment to get used to his size before he bottomed out in me, he stayed there for a moment as he grunted and I felt my pussy stretch further than it ever had in my sexual experience. His hand found my throat once again and I latched my lips onto his Adam’s apple and he started to trust in and out picking up his pace and squeezing slightly harder with each thrust. We had become a moaning grunting mess before he reached down and started drawing figure eights on my clit as his thrusts got faster and rougher. His other hand held up his body I could feel the coil start to build up again in my stomach and I clenched around him.
“Cum for me princess. I'm not far behind you.” I nodded and I felt him cut off the air supply in my throat as his hips found mine even faster than before. My nails dug into his shoulders once more as I felt myself release around him and I screamed his name. A few more thrusts and I felt him cum inside me. He let go of my throat and his body gently fell on top of mine where he left small kisses on my shoulder. Our sweaty body meshed together as I felt myself wrap my arms around his broad shoulders and gently rub the spots I had scratched and dug my nails into. “That was well overdue.” He breathed into my neck. I nodded still not being able to form words as he and I came down from our highs.
“Should we re-join the party?” I asked him as I sat up slowly. He nodded and unwrapped his body from my own before he rushed into the bathroom and came back out with a washcloth to help me clean myself. I was still fairly sensitive and whimpered as he wiped up his cum from my pussy. I groaned remembering he ripped my panties as he threw my jeans at me.
“I’ll buy you new ones Y/N, but for now, just don’t wear any. I'm sure we will be back here later anyway.” I felt him press small gentle kisses to my bare shoulders as he helped me with the clasps on my bustier. “Also, don’t wear your top, you can get away without it.” He winked at me as I rolled my eyes at him and watched as he pulled on his jeans and tried to fix up his hair.
“Rafe?” he spun on his heel and looked at me as I sat on his bed to tie up my shoes. “What are we going to do now?” he chuckled as he turned back around to his dresser and pulled out a button up salmon shirt that he rolled the sleeves up to his elbows but left it undone. He motioned for me to walk over to him.
“This, this was us doing something that was long overdue,” he placed a gentle kiss on my collarbone as I rolled my head back to lean onto his shoulder. “But I will be the first to acknowledge the feelings between us, they’ve always been there. And I want to be able to call you mine.” He nuzzled his head into my neck. I had never seen Rafe act this way towards anyone. It was almost like he craved human affection. “I love you Y/n, I always have.” I spun around in his arms and kissed his lips gently.
“I love you too Rafe, always have.” He pulled my body closer to his and wrapped his body  around mine.

A/N: Snapshots of your growing relationship with Spike. Time moves on pretty fast, I didn’t want to split this one up into parts but I suppose I usually move time on in my ficlets so you should be used to that by now if you follow my writing lol. There’s an extra gif (as a treat) in the middle to split it up! I had a blast with this one! (WC: 5k)
Tumblr media
You were waiting in the queue to get into the supermarket, having to wait two metres behind those queueing in front of you. It was a normal day, that was until you blinked. This is how you found yourself in a graveyard. In the middle of the night.
“What the-” you looked around, confused. The mask over your mouth muffling your words as you spoke. You were sort of laid-back, even with this - being dropped into somewhere so clearly not where you were meant to be - you adjusted quickly. You had been in the supermarket queueing apart from the rest of the customers and now you were in a graveyard in what appeared to be the middle of the night.
“Now!” A stuffy looking man with a very British accent called, pointing towards you .A young woman tackled you to the ground. On instinct, that you weren’t aware you possessed until now, you blocked her blows and pushed her off you, panting hard. Eyes widened as she felt you were human. She got up, helping you up.
“Uh, Ow” You muttered, “So, hi, sorry to bother you - do you know where I am?”
“London, England” He enunciated the words, clearly proud of the place they were in.
“Great. How about when I am?” You ask, eyeing the girls choice in outfit. You were all for individual style but something about it made you feel as if you had been dropped straight into the 90s.
“1998, of course” They confirmed your suspicion. The pair frowned at you and then at each other.
“Oh, so I’ve travelled in time!” You decide, as if this was an inconvenience than a major revelation. You moved back subconsciously as they approached you. You weren’t used to people standing so close and so it was unusual when the girl offered you a comforting gesture - a hand on your shoulder. This gesture awarded her a glare from the man and she quickly dropped it. The man then looked at you with a curiosity that surpassed the usual time-traveller-crazy. He was squinting at you as if he had been waiting for this.
“Come with us” he ordered, didn’t ask. You shrugged and followed.
You spent a couple of days there, the man introducing himself as a watcher, his job to watch over the girl and train her. They had a special interest in you, something about a prophecy of one from the future,  telling you that you had some kind of potential too. You were packing up, which was fairly simple as you only had the clothes on your back and a now unneeded face mask. You had been told you were taking a trip. Someone that could help you figure where to go from here.
Meanwhile, in Sunnydale, California:
“Mr Giles. We will need you to undertake further duties. The council is stretched and this woman is a special case. She maintains that she is from the future. I believe it may be the one from the prophecy your slayer has discovered. We will need you to watch her while we do our own research on this prophecy”
“Ok, Quentin. I shall greet her at the airport”
When you finally arrived in Sunnydale, laden with several scrolls and some books for you to give to a ‘Mr Giles’ about a prophecy that hadn’t been explained to you, a friendly older man welcomed you.
“Uh, hello, y/n. I’m Rupert Giles, you will be staying with me. I hear that you have travelled a long way to be here”
“Yeah and the rest” You mutter, before smiling apologetically and greeting him properly, “It’s nice to meet you, you have a really nice home” You offered, ever the charmer, as you looked around it approvingly.
Eventually, a group of people perhaps a little younger than you arrived their curiosity getting the better of them.
“This is Buffy, Willow, Xander and Anya” Giles introduced as you greeted them warmly.
“Hey, your names are all straight out of a graphic novel or something” You smile, introducing yourself as y/n. You had been briefed that Buffy was a slayer, that there was but one in a generation but you hadn’t been entirely certain what it entailed. Th others whispered slightly, about the latest demon not quite sure how much they could trust you yet as Giles caught that you may feel a little left out.
“Well, ah, yes, thank you. Shall we set you up in the spare room?” Giles offered, taking your bags and showing you the way. You just rolled with it, picking up the fast-paced lifestyle that you would have to be accustomed to in Sunnydale.
With you being laid back and fun for the others to be around, you fit in almost straight away. They started to be less secretive around you and started to clue you in on everything. Although, they weren’t entirely sure what a potential was yet themselves. Which was fine by you, you might not be here long enough to find out anyway. Giles was the only one that knew of a prophecy that had started to come true since you arrived.
They were helping you find a way home. Some of them more reluctantly than others. Willow had started to teach you little tricks and tips about simple spells, so that you could show off to the others. Buffy and you often gossiped together, she liked that you often had a friendly ear for her problems, offering another perspective that Willow didn’t have.
Life became normal, but you felt yourself lacking something you couldn’t quite put your finger on and it wasn’t returning back to 2020. Everyone was coupled up and some days you started to feel a little lonely. You continued to research a way to get home, often in vain. You weren’t so urgently wanting to leave, you had a life here in Sunnydale now but Giles was insistent you at least had the option to return to your time period.
It had been a few months now, and you were getting used to life in Sunnydale. Buffy ran at the vampire, with you, willow and Xander trailing behind. The three of you worked together to shepherd the vampires into Buffy’s line-of-fight so that she could stake them more easily. You became a part of everyone’s lives and you almost forgot about where you had come from, until of course it was brought up again.
You became fast friends with the gang, a true member of the Scoobies. They asked you so many questions about the future it was as if your life before then had been a dream. You were all walking back from the graveyard after a long night of slaying when they mentioned the future once more.
“There’s a big virus... it’s pretty bad back there… or forward, in the future” You say softly, thinking of how different everything was compared to now and how much you had taken little things for granted.
“I knew it! I called it: the next apocalypse would be a big virus infecting everyone” Buffy said excitedly, then realised you had a little frown. Things really had felt scary for a while there. She stopped talking, a hand on your arm to reassure you. You smiled at how close you had become, finding her one of your best friends. You were so grateful for the Scoobies as you walked through the streets, deciding to make an impromptu trip to the Bronze.
When you arrived, the music was buzzing and the vibe in the place was exciting. You smiled around the room, nodding along to the music, barely noticing the conversation until you zoned back in. They were discussing a vampire, someone they called Spike. You decided you wanted to ask who they were talking about.
“Oh my God, that’s right - you weren’t here” Buffy sighed, having to launch into another account of what had happened with Angel. Your eyes widened at the story they had managed to forget to inform you about, even to your laid back demeanour it made you a little spooked about how friendly you had been with Angel.
“So, what’s up with this Spike? Is he evil?”
“If you’re scared of peroxide you should start running” Xander smiled, and Willow explained he had bleach blonde hair.
“Well, uh, there was talk of torture with railroad spikes and-”
“He’s killed slayers in brutal ways”
“But he was mostly big on the talking about killing us but he never manged to do anything... too busy with his precious Drusilla” they shrugged, as if this was normal gossip. In the same breath, they started to talk about a girl from their school, Katy, who they saw parking with a guy that wasn’t her boyfriend.
Not even a week after this conversation, you were in the Magic Shop, needing a few ingredients - you had promised to help Willow with a de-lusting spell. She had told you, in private, what had been going on with Xander so you had it a priority to rush to the store.
As soon as your eyes met his, you felt the missing piece you had been lacking. His presence filling you up in ways you never knew you were empty. You were drawn to him, even though you knew how dangerous he was, you couldn’t help step towards him, despite the fact he was standing over a dead body.
It was the store owner. You had really liked her, she was always extremely kind. Your look of horror changed to one of concern though, at the state of the vampire in front of you. He looked almost... broken. As if he had suffered a great loss. Your head told you to run, get into the sunlight as soon as you could, but something made you stand stock still. You knew who he was. You had been told about him only a few nights ago. But the horror stories hadn’t scared you away. Not even the scene before you had scared you away.
You both just stared, as if you were studying something fascinating. For some reason, unknown to him, he didn’t lunge at you. He launched into a rant about his woes. You were used to this, your personality meant people often confided in you.
“She dumped me! She didn’t even chop my head off or burn me to ash, I mean, she doesn’t even care about me that much!”
“Hey, it’s okay I’m sure she’ll change her mind. I’m sure you have lots of... nice qualities” You offered. He sighed over-exaggeratedly, pacing and stepping over his discarded meal before leaning against the wall and sliding down it. He crouched, head in his hands as he continued to speak.
“But she cheated! With a chaos demon! Have you seen one of those? They’re all goo and antlers” he shouted, tears spilling from his eyes that he angrily wiped away. You cautiously sat beside him, also leaning against the wall.
“That sounds pretty gross to me” You offer nodding along, your hand hovering as if you wanted to offer a comforting gesture but you weren’t sure if he would bite your hand off (literally). However, your fears subsided when he leaned against your shoulder, sniffling slightly. His tears starting to subside at your words, nodding along. The big, scary bad guy didn’t seem so bad. He was in pain.
“Then, you deserve better, Spike. It hurts now, but this might be good for you. Some time to look out for yourself, pick up the, uh, pieces” You offer, wavering at the end as his face had shifted. He was starting to get mad. He realised he had been vulnerable with you. That he was taking comfort with you. A human. A potential, he had even overheard from the witch. This wouldn’t do. He could feel himself falling. One ounce of kindness and that’s all it took for him to start falling. God, sometimes he hated being love’s bitch.
He squinted, how did you know his name? Oh, right, you must know the Slayer. He’s just been vulnerable with one of the Slayer’s little slayerettes. He scowled at you, a dramatic change from his previous apparent sensitivity as he loomed over you.
“Bugger off, I see you - you’re the Slayer’s mate aren’t you? Well, I don’t know what game you’re playing but you can bloody well- you can bugger right off!” He shouted, grabbing your jacket, balling it up in his fist and pointing in your face. His face changed, his bumpy forehead shifting his features. You just stared back, everything had happened so fast you weren’t sure what could be said. Even now, you just wanted to reach and hug him. And, if you had I’m sure he would have hesitated but hugged back. But you didn’t and for some reason, he dropped his hand from your clothing and stalked away.
The next time you saw him, was a few days later. For some reason, his mind had started to move from Drusilla’s betrayal and he had a new object of his affection. You bump into him late at night as you walked back home after helping Buffy patrol, he still looks a little upset. He was definitely a little drunk and so, you took pity on him. He insulted you when he first saw you, trying to keep up the façade but it quickly melted away at how genuine you were about how he was doing. He softened, even slightly, nodding along to your words. He followed you to your door, already starting to miss you as the key turned in the lock.
“Come in?” You offered over your own shoulder as you stepped over the threshold. He squinted, unsure if he had heard you right before smirking.
“You’re just asking to be eaten up, aren’t you?”
“No, I can just see you’re hurting. Talk to me, I won’t tell a soul” you promise, setting out two mugs and offering him a drink. He nodded, taking the mug and hugging it to him. The warmth comforting in a way that he wondered if your embrace would be the same. He knew it would. And now, as you spoke, he couldn’t stop thinking about it.
After this, another moment where he hadn’t eaten you despite having a very easy chance, he took comfort in the fact that you were kind but not naïve. Kindness was his weakness and you weren’t like the scoobies, there was something about you. Like you had knowledge, not just because you appeared to be a few years older. Like you could truly understand.
When he left in the early hours of the morning, only because the sun was threatening to rise, he still insisted he was going after Drusilla. But instead, he couldn’t help sticking around.
He realised he didn’t want to go back to Drusilla. He wanted kindness. He wanted you. He decided to lay low, staying in Sunnydale for you. To even catch another glimpse of you.
He became increasingly besotted with you. A small grain of affection growing into a vast and deeply rooted feeling of love.
Tumblr media
After a while of accidentally bumping into him late at night, you realised Spike had moved back permanently. He was often found hanging around the place you had started renting after you moved out of Giles’ when you realised that this wasn’t a temporary stay in Sunnydale. He pretended he had been looking for you, saying that there was a gang of vampires that had taken over the east side of Sunnydale and that Buffy was busy with something else. He suggested that you both checked it out seeing as Giles had in fact determined, and now told you, that you were a potential. A slayer-in-training.
Spike drove you both. The car smelt of cigarette smoke and as if he had spilled an entire bottle of jack on the back seat. The whole way there he tried impressing you with how evil he was, despite the fact he was out doing Buffy’s job. You pointed this out to him, not wanting to upset him but because it was a valid point. He explained it was the principle of the thing, he wasn’t turning good. Not for anything.
You were fond of him, and he loved everything about you. How caring you were. How sweet your smile was to him. How you knew so much about being in a time you’re not really from. He found you were incredibly easy to talk to, having now poured his heart out on more than one occasion. Another thing is that often, he didn’t feel the need to talk - he just wanted to hear you talk about everything and anything.
This was what you were doing on the car journey. You were explaining about music apps and how you could have all of your music, not just the beat up cassette tapes Spike had littering his car, on one tiny device. He listened, fascinated about everything you would tell him of the future.
You parked up and waited in the car a while, waiting for any sign of this illusive vampire gang.
After a while, Spike turned the heat up a little, noticing you were cold. He slipped his duster off, not making eye contact as he offered it to you. You smiled and took it, but then realised what the gesture could mean. You slipped it on, bundling it around you the best you could before looking back to him wit ha little furrow on your brow.
“Is, uh, this a date Spike?” you ask finally, not able to stop yourself grinning at his reaction.
“What?! No! Uh, unless you… y’know… wanted it to be?” He muttered, noting your smile. It made him melt. You nodded confirmation, a small smile. You’d love a date with him. He nodded, mirroring you. Then you both stared ahead of you, not sure what else to say. You were overthinking it now.
A date with a human?
A date with a vampire?!
But when your eyes met again, none of it mattered. You grinned, reaching your hand to lay on top of his. Squeezing slightly, giving him that sweet smile he loved so much.
You were supposed to be predator and prey and yet it was nothing like this. Neither of you could deny your feelings. He couldn’t lie and say he magically didn’t think about the way your blood would taste, but he never wanted to hurt you. It was almost physical, he ached for you to be happy.
He moved to look back at you in the passenger seat and couldn’t help smiling, although it ended up on the other side of his face when the vampires you had been looking for found you instead. They had been real and not made up as an excuse to talk to you. You had fought together, perfectly in sync with the other, having each other’s backs on instinct. It was the best first date you had both ever had, ending in a passionate kiss as the last remnants of vamp-dust fell to the ground.
After months of researching the prophecy of the ‘Future one’ that Giles decided had to be you, you had also become Spike’s girlfriend. This was on the down-low to begin with, Spike was definitely seen as evil and not just because he had done a deal with some questionable demons in order to make some money and hoped to get the chance to kill Buffy at the same time. You navigated your relationship around this, trying to steer him and Buffy out of each other’s way the best that you could.
Spike stalked in, blood smeared around his mouth that he wiped off with his shirt sleeve, trying to look at least a little presentable when he realised you were waiting up for him.
He softened when he saw you sleepily cuddled on the sofa, the glare of the tv lighting up your face. Coming back to see you was heaven, if he believed in any of that stuff. You made this crypt a home and coming back to have you waiting in the early morning was bliss. He wanted you to move in, but you kept your apartment for appearances in front of the Scoobies.
He moved to you, cupping your cheek and pulling you in for a kiss. It was soft and slow, but full of meaning - as if he was sucking the soul from you. Replacing it with his love. His promise that souls didn’t matter when it was love.
“What was that for?” The meaning behind his kiss almost waking you up completely. Knocking the breath from your lungs. The sleep from your eyes. Eyes a little wider, smile a little brighter.
“I love you, pet” he shrugged, sitting beside you on the sofa.
“I love you too, even though you taste suspiciously like the red-stuff” You can’t help still smiling sleepily. He sat beside you on the sofa, allowing you to settle in beside him. He let you lay against him and you snuggle into his side as he wrapped an arm around you. His soft whispers match the soothing caress as he rubbed your arm as you started to drift into sleep. You felt so safe with him.
You would never have guessed that not an hour before this vampire had been terrorising humans, draining them and taunting them. He of course never told you that was what he did, and he could never for a second imagine hurting you that way, but you had suspicions and you tried your best to not bring it up or ask him to try animal blood.
You trusted him, for better or for worse. By this time, you had been dating for almost a year and a half, for the most part hidden from the others. Willow knew, being the most understanding of the group. Anya had her suspicions but the others weren’t aware.
A while after all of your friends found out about your relationship with Spike (they had walked in on you both in a compromising position that no amount of excuses could explain), you got a call from Giles. He had still been looking up a way for you to go home and he had finally found one.
It was time for you to choose. Between the prophecy and going back to the future.
“Y/n, I’ve found it! You may go home” he offered, an aged scroll and a tablet with runes carved on it in his hands. You stared, in shock. You knew what this meant. It meant you could go back home to your family. Your friends. Your life before you met them all.
“I, uh…” you just stared. Things had been rocky for a while, you had been under suspicion for your relationship with Spike when they had found out, but everything had been getting back to normal now. You had barely thought about returning to 2020. You had made a life here.
“You do not have to do anything with this, y/n. You may, ah, wish to think about it. Or I could put these to one side if you ever did in the future want to go back. But I will be the first to say that you are one of us. None of us will take any pleasure in saying goodbye” Giles knew your fears, that the group would want you to leave because of your relationship with Spike. They weren’t pleased with it, but the arguments were over now. Everyone was still fond of you.
“Thanks, Giles. Can we keep this between us for now?” You asked and he nodded, hiding everything away safely until it was needed.
Since that talk with Giles, Spike noticed you had been off with him. He tried asking, but you had snapped and he had become irritated. You had stormed away in the middle of the day so that he couldn’t follow you, avoiding an argument. You took your time coming back, having to think over everything. Should you go back to 2020 or stay in Sunnydale (with perhaps a perilous prophecy to fulfil).
When you returned, you told him everything. An honesty you both had tried to maintain throughout your relationship. You poured your fears, your apprehension and then he looked in your eyes, took your hands and offered you another option. an option you had never even considered until now. Your eyes widened, could he really love you that much?
“You’ll never be able to go back, love. Think about it. I’ll understand if you’d rather try to look for that portal again to get back home” “I love you and I want you to stay here... with me” He finally said it. What you were hoping for him to say. Your grin spread across your face, nothing would have taken it from you. This moment, it was special.
“I want this, Spike. I want you” You confirmed, “You are home to me”
“You think you can handle an eternity with me?”
“I can give it a try at least” You smiled as he rolled his eyes.
He stared into your eyes, testing if you were serious before casting his gaze back to your neck. He could feel the steady beat, your trust in him.
He leaned in, you braced yourself. He held your head back, cradling it. His mouth lingered despite his lusting for your blood. His face shifted, fangs now protruding from his mouth, the same eyes now a different colour scanning the unmarked skin there.
It was as if in slow motion. He whispered his affections for you, landing a soft kiss on your pulse point before his jaw opened. He moved in, teeth starting to pierce your flesh. You winced, hissing slightly and he paused but your hands moved and you nodded your continuing consent. He continued to intake your blood, swallowing the thick viscous liquid as if it were his last meal on this plain.
When he managed to pull away, he sliced his palm, offering you your first taste of his blood. You gladly accepted, licking the cut before sucking hungrily. You pulled his hand closer to your mouth as he stroked the back of your head with his other hand. Your eyes darkened, wanting him, wanting to be filled with his blood. With anything he wanted to give you and offering your soul in return. Your soul was his to take.
This was forever. Bound by the love coursing through your veins. This was big for him, he had never sired anyone romantically before and he knew he never would again. This was a bond he only wanted with you. He loved you so much, to have you by his side was a gift to you both.
You drank until your body slumped and he had to hold you up. Taking on your weight, laying you down on his bed. lovingly placing the covers over you. He lay himself beside you, on his side facing you, over the bedclothes. He stroked your cheek, it was as if you were sleeping. But you had no heart beat. You weren’t breathing. Your skin was hardening, marble-like. He smiled at this, a thumb gliding across your cheekbone.
He wasn’t grieving, he was in anticipation. Hoping your kindness, charm and laid-back nature wasn’t lost during the process. This had gone wrong for him before and he was desperate for all of the human qualities to be with you during your reawakening.
After what felt like an age, your eyes opened and the first thing you saw were his sparkling blue eyes staring back. The smile on your lips mirrored his as your face shifted for the first time. Elongated fangs and a ridged forehead were now the new addition to your features, and he loved you more for it.
“I never would have thought… after everything” you sighed, having woken up from what felt like a sleeping-beauty style 100 year sleep. You thought about where you had come from. How you had met, how he had threatened you, how the Scoobies - your friends - had reacted to your relationship with Spike. It had all been worth it to be here with him like this.
Your joints were stiff, your senses heightened. But your love for him was just as deep as it was before. Your genuine nature bruised a little, maybe grazed but not removed from you the way some vampires appeared to have their good qualities surgically taken.
“Well, the Powers-that-bloody-don’t have a funny way of working things out” he shrugged, not able to stop himself smiling that it was really still you.
“Now, come on pet, I want to show you the afterlife properly” He smirked, pulling you up from bed to follow him, about to show you the joys of the hunt. He could tell you would be hungry, he was ready to show you everything. He was so pleased he had truly found someone that loved him the same way he loved them. Someone he could cherish, that would cherish him in return. Someone he could hold long into the day and not worry about some other vampire coming along and catching your eye. You were both in deep. And happily so.
This was the start of your un-life together. Little did either of you know, in a couple of months time, Spike would no longer be able to kill a living thing. A chip would be embedded  into his brain. You would stay by his side, a precarious truce with the others still. Your soul almost intact, but never quite in the room. Your love for him would never die, even through the tough times that were coming.
Your prophecy something you would have to encounter eventually, but you could both face anything as long as you were together. Bound together for an eternity.

EXCERPT: He extended his other arm to her. Stepping as close as she could, she wrapped an arm tightly around his shoulders. The arm he had held out to her now circled her waist, pulling her even closer. She could feel every curve and edge of his armour through her clothes. His helmet turned towards her.

Ten couldn’t think of a better sound than the Ursa’s engines finally running again. Decidedly less strained than before, she thought. Though that may have just been wishful thinking.
They’d been sequestered on the asteroid for the better part of two standard weeks. The time they’d lost was valuable, but nothing compared to the time they’d lose if the Ursa bailed on them mid-flight.
On the surface, spending time with the Mandalorian was not too much different than spending time alone. He barely spoke unless he was spoken to, and moved around like a ghost, despite the heavy armour. But there was something … imposing about the man. Not threatening, but Ten could feel his presence in a room, sometimes even feel his eyes on her. It wholly unsettled her— not that she’d let him know that.
Much — well actually all — of their conversation in the recent days had centered around where the hell to go next. It was obvious an Imperial conspirator had inside knowledge of the job and that Ten and Mando were the ones working it. They had a list of contacts from Greef Karga who may have information; to seek out those contacts now would surely be suicide, for everyone involved.
“You feel sure about Ronhar Kraz?” Ten asked. The armoured man sat to her right nodded slowly. Kraz was a businessman who specialized in textiles and linen trade between the core and the Outer Rim. Seemingly benign, but he used those same textiles and linen to smuggle weapons during the days of the Empire. For both sides.
“It feels too obvious,” she mused. “Former weapons smuggler turned Imperial double agent. Why even attach your name onto this if so many people in the Outer Rim know you worked with the Empire?”
“You’re assuming a level of intelligence and foresight I don’t often attribute to Imps,” he said.
“That’s the mindset that gets you fucked over eventually,” she said, rolling her eyes.
“Is that what happened to you?”
Ten turned her head sharply, glaring at him. “You should watch that metal mouth or I’ll find something that will bend beskar.”
She heard a short breathy noise she’d come to known as a laugh processed through his modulator.
They’d almost passed through the outer boundary of the asteroid field, so she focused on steering through the last of the rocks. An itch had settled under her skin in the past few days, an urge to go, go, go, escape the confines of this belt they’d found themselves unexpectedly marooned within. As much as she still dreaded getting tangled up in Empire business, she felt that coursing of adrenaline in her veins that had been escaping her for many months now. That thrill of her life being put on the line of her own volition.
That adrenaline spiked again as they were fired on.
“Shit!” Ten cursed, the ship veering sharply upon impact. Din reacted on instinct, seat spinning towards the weapons controls he’d made a point of committing to memory. “They must have followed our ion trail to the edge of the belt. Have the fuckers just been waiting here the whole time?”
Another hit struck them, almost sending Din flying into the viewport. As he lurched, his gaze locked on the ships in front of them, before Ten steered them quickly away in an evasive maneuver. The ships pursued. He wasn’t surprised he recognized the ships, but he was surprised that—
“Those are New Republic ships. That’ll be why we weren’t vapourized on sight.” He paused as he attempted to target lock the ships still following close behind. There were too many asteroids lingering in the belt’s gravitational pull for them to jump to hyperspace. He needed to buy time. “Are you wanted?”
Ten didn’t look at him as she pushed their speed, but he could somehow feel her rolling her eyes at him. “No, I’m not an idiot. Even if I was, the Ursa’s totally off register, there’s no way—”
“Torpedo approaching lower left engine exhaust,” he interrupted. Cursing again, she took them as far right as possible — and right towards a large asteroid. Din braced, but she slowed their speed enough to whip them quickly around its circumference. He had to admit she was an impressive pilot.
“Are you wanted?”
“...Yes.”
“Now why am I not surprised by—”
She was cut off by the incoming communication alarm. They exchanged glances before Ten reached forward and set off the acceptance switch.
“Unidentified vessel,” came the drone of a New Republic officer. “Cut your engines immediately and prepare for boarding.”
“And why the hell should we do that?” Ten snapped, taking them through a narrow gap between asteroids. Din rolled his eyes now beneath the helmet.
“You are wanted for the murder of Jula Lars. Cut your engines immediately and prepare to be taken into custody. Failure to comply can result in—”
Ten slammed her hand down on the controls and cut off the channel. Din noticed her other hand tightening on the steering gears, knuckles going white. The scars he knew to be there were barely visible.
“Those fuckers … do you have a target lock on the ships? I’m going to blast them from the fucking sky,” she snapped.
As lightly as he dared, Din placed a hand on her arm that was closest to him. “They’re only doing their job. Obviously the Imps put them on our tail. No one else knew we were there.”
“Oh and you’re now the sudden pacifist?” she turned her head to glare at him. It felt like ice began flowing through his veins.
“We don’t need to help create more victims to the Empire,” he said lowly. Something flashed in her eyes. She kept eye contact with him for as long as she dared before turning forward to continue steering.
“Fine,” was all she said. A pause. More shots volleying around them, missing the ship as it weaved. “Then we need to go to hyperspace. Now.”
“There’s still too many asteroids we could—”
“Then I guess you’re just going to have to trust me, Mandalorian,” she said, and she was already engaging, then ramping their speed and then— rocks flew past them as superliminal speeds as they were catapulted into hyperspace. Din held his breath the entire time, certain they were headed straight for a rock which, at these speeds, would vapourize them for sure.
He let it go when he realized they were clear. Looking beside him, he saw Ten staring at him, her scarred eyebrow raised. “I told you to trust me.”
He scoffed, still feeling on edge. “Set the course for Leotis IV.”
“Aye aye, captain.”
Ten landed the Ursa as discreetly as she could, a few kilometres out from the Kraz estate. Thankfully it didn’t seem the New Republic had any insight on where they were going, only where they had been. But there was no guessing how long that would last.
Mando was in the hold, already securing his blaster into his belt. She recognized a couple other models and … something that didn’t look like a blaster at all. Before she could get a longer look his cloak fell over it.
“Kraz’s estate only has minimum security in place. Security cameras, only two from the back, no motion sensors,” she said, opening up the weapons compartment.
“How do you know all this?” Mando asked, entering her field of view. She looked up from where she was sheathing throwing knives. She shrugged at him.
“You hunt people, I hunt information. It’s my business to know my way around prominent figure’s properties.” Reaching up, Ten finally grabbed her blaster from the top shelf it sat on. She knew she could very likely do this without it, but it would probably appease Mando.
“If he is working with the Empire, he may have increased his security since your latest information,” he noted. She nodded as she hung her own cloak around her shoulders.
“At least then it would make for a challenge,” she said, nodding her head towards the door.
They closed the distance from the Ursa on foot so as not to be seen by anyone on the grounds. The tree cover was just enough to hide it from view overhead. Mando seemed to want to take the walk in their usual state of silence, and Ten didn’t complain.
As they walked, Ten admired the foliage that seemed to grow at mostly knee height on this planet. It bloomed undisturbed in the gaps left by the trees, enjoying the unrestricted sunlight. The rays seemed to bounce off the petals which appeared in every colour.
It made her think of Yaim. The trees there had been much denser, and wider. But the air seemed to vibrate in the same way, the wind so delicate Ten could almost close her eyes and imagine it was tender fingers on her cheek.
She reached out, as she would always do when she was a girl, and felt that unwavering presence, its weight bearing down on her bones and her soul alike. But … less heavy than usual, which surprised her.
Finally, they reached the wall which indicated the edge of the property, It wasn’t high, maybe four or five metres by Ten’s estimation. The surface was uneven, and she grabbed a hold of the texture, testing it.
“This should work. If we can scale to the—” She was cut off by a sharp whizzing noise beside her. As she examined the grappling hook connected to his vambrace, she was absolutely sure he was smirking beneath the helmet. “Or we could do it that way.”
He extended his other arm to her. Stepping as close as she could, she wrapped an arm tightly around his shoulders. The arm he had held out to her now circled her waist, pulling her even closer. She could feel every curve and edge of his armour through her clothes. His helmet turned towards her.
“Hold on tight,” was all he said, and then they were rapidly ascending up, up, past the rough stones in the wall, until Mando swung them onto the top, which was thankfully flat. “You can let go now.”
“Right,” she breathed. Shaking her head, she turned towards the building now filling their view. As she’d planned, the route to the wall had taken them close to the back corner of the property. If her information was current, Kraz only had cameras facing his back and front entrances. “You’ve got a scope on that pulse rifle, right? Can you see the cameras on the back wall?”
Swinging the rifle around to rest on his shoulder, he wordlessly aimed at the building. Ten studied his stance from the corner of her eye. His feet were heavy, planted shoulder width apart. He didn’t sway as the wind picked up, a solid beskar statue in the foreign landscape.
Suddenly he fired once, then twice. Ten flinched at the unexpected noise. Finally, he spoke. “The cameras are taken care of.”
“A little warning next time?” Before he could respond, she flung herself from the wall. She braced herself on her hands as she landed, Mando dropping beside her a moment later. She held up a hand.
After a few beats of silence, she nodded at him. “Seems like they haven’t upgraded security after all,” she noted, moving towards the back entrance. As they got closer, she saw that the cameras were indeed demolished by the shots.
“Don’t suppose you know the interior blueprints as well?” Mando asked at her left shoulder.
“No,” she shook her head. “Those are usually harder to get a hold of. But I have been hired by many men like Kraz. They like to keep their personal offices in the back of buildings, it makes them feel safer for some reason. See that window?”
She gestured directly above them, where the largest window on the back facade sat. It was also the only window inset with what appeared to be rare minerals.
“I agree,” Mando said before she could finish. “That’s a good place to start. After you.”
Ten examined the back entrance, gliding her hand along the smooth edges of the metal. The locking mechanism blinked orange gently, and she recognized an optical scanner. But beneath that … a keyboard override, hidden under an unlocked panel. Perfect.
Taking one of her daggers from her belt, she was able to tear off the cover of the keypad box with her hands. Ten held the dagger up. It was one of her favourites. The handle was nondescript, simple, fitted perfectly to her grip. Its blade was stronger than any other she owned, and she strongly suspected it had been mixed with beskar, though she couldn’t be sure. Maybe she would ask the Mandalorian.
She pried under the edge of the keypad, battling metal on metal, leveraging with all her strength. Finally, as she expected, her metal won, and the bottom edge of the keypad popped off with a satisfying crack. She cut every wire she found lying underneath, one by one until—
The door slid open with a whirr as the orange light went dark.
“Would’ve been faster to shoot it open,” said Mando.
“And set off every alarm they have in this place.” She strode past him into the building. The cement walls echoed her footsteps, but there was no other sound bouncing off them. The overhead lights flickered slowly.
The hallway branched into a T shortly ahead of them, and her and Mando took to a side of the wall. Nodding, they inched over the corner, blasters drawn. Ten found a long corridor on her side, ending in a window. There were no doors. She spoke first, in a low tone.
“All clear here.”
“Here too.”
Relaxing marginally, she turned. The other direction appeared much the same, with another doorless hallway. Ten shrugged.
“Your choice is as good as mine.”
Mando wordlessly started down the hall to the right. She followed, pulling her hood over her head as she did. She ran her hand lightly along the wall. It was cold to the touch. She tightened her grip on her blaster.
A stairway emerged at the end of the hallway, and they followed silently. The next level was similar to the first, though featured more hallways going deeper into the building and an occasional linen draped on the wall. Finally, they came to a wide door, inlaid with the same mineral as the exterior window.
It was empty inside. A large wooden desk occupied much of the room, facing towards the ornate window. The sunlight streamed in freely, casting multicoloured shapes over the room. It reflected off Mando’s beskar as he approached the computer terminal on the desk.
“The communications log should give us enough information on whether he’s working with the Empire.” He called up a projected screen, gloved fingers running over the controls. “Should be … here. Most people don’t even restrict access. We can download it to look at on the ship.”
Ten nodded. She moved towards the window. Closer to it, she could see the small bubbles enclosed in the inlays. It felt rough. She wasn’t sure why she was so drawn to touch today, but it felt as if a live wire had been inserted beneath her skin, the smallest of currents lighting her nerves.
“Done,” came Mando’s modulated tone, pulling her attention. “We should go—”
Before he could finish, the latch clicked in the door. They both watched, unable to do anything, as the handle turned and the door opened fully.
A human man stood there, looking down at his holopad at first. Mando raised his blaster slowly. By the time the man looked up, it was directly in front of his face, and his eyes widened as he took the two of them in.
“W-who the hell are you?” he asked shakily. “You shouldn’t be in here, I …”
“We’re going to walk out of here,” Mando said calmly. “There’s no reason to panic. You’re going to stay in this office for five minutes, and then go about your day. Got it?”
The man’s eyes darted rapidly back and forth between them. Ten tried to soften her eyes, to urge him to listen. She wasn’t sure it worked.
Faster than either of them could react, he screamed out, tripping backwards over himself out of the office. Mando fired down into his leg and he collapsed, screaming more, but it was too late, the damage had been done.
As they sprinted out and away from the office, Ten could already hear the sound of boots echoing off the walls. They’d almost reached the stairs when a group of armed security burst out of a hallway in front of them. It was six on two and damn if Ten didn’t like those odds.
Blaster fire broke out almost immediately. Just as quickly, Ten lost track of Mando in the shuffle, but it didn’t matter.
She shot at the two men in front of her, electing for quantity over quality in her aim. She managed to hit one somewhere in the torso and he crumpled to the ground. After a number of other shots she hit the next man in the shoulder, which worked to her advantage. He dropped his blaster with a shout, but stayed on his feet.
Ten pulled two of the small knives from her belt. Taking a deep breath to steady herself, she aimed before whipping it forehead. It spun in the air before hitting its mark, buried inside the man’s neck. He sputtered as he fell to his knees, then onto his face.
Spinning around, she saw Mando taking down a fifth officer behind her, two others already on the ground. She counted quickly.
“Where’s the sixth one?”
“Doesn’t matter,” Mando grunted, dropping the officer to the ground. He raced toward the stairs and she followed.
It appeared they were mostly in the clear, the branch off to the door just ahead of them. Ten led ahead, turning the corner first.
She was met with a blaster pressed to her forehead. It was the sixth officer, her hands shaking as she pressed the barrel harder into the skin.
Ten couldn’t even consciously control her response. It didn’t matter that Mando stood just behind her.
Her hand reached up in front of her, gripping seemingly around nothing, pushing forward. She pulled on the invisible field which was always with her, calling on it. Slowly the barrel of the blaster moved away and so too did the officer, beginning to cough and sputter as her windpipe closed. Ten panted, squeezing tighter and higher, and now the officer was a good three metres in front of her, feet lifting off the ground, eyes rolling into her head. With a grunt, she quickly jerked her arm to the side, sending the officer flying into the wall. The crumpled figure on the ground didn’t move.
“You just …” came Mando’s voice behind her. She turned to look back at him. “You’re a Jedi.”
“We don’t have time for this but let’s get one thing straight. I am not a Jedi.”

In This Hell Daryl Dixon x Reader part 8/??
Hey guys!  I’m so excited to post part 8!  I’m sorry about such a large gap in between parts, I'm currently trying to figure out a schedule for posting parts. I hope you're all safe and well. Thank you for being patient and so lovely!
Warnings- Slow burn, Light smut?, General Walking Dead stuff, Blood, Gore, Swearing, Shane being sus.
Tumblr media
The drive home seemed shorter than the drive there, passing the familiar mailboxes and other run down buildings.
The minute we arrived back, Shane left to speak with Rick, furthering their search for Sophia.
I started grabbing the Medical supplies that we had found scattered throughout the houses and took them into the farm house.
I knocked on the wooden doorframe, waiting for someone to answer, Patricia’s head popping around the corner.
“Good morning (Y/n).” “Morning, I just thought that since we’re all low on supplies that I would bring you some stuff. Shane and I went out this morning and came across all of this medical stuff, even found a full first aid kit.” I chuckled as she opened the door, stepping aside for me.
“Oh thank you, just sit it all on the dining table.” She smiled, grabbing one of the bags from me, leading the way through the house into the dining room.
“Did you guys find much?” “We found some things, a bunch of medical stuff as you can see, some food, which is in that green bad, and some gardening stuff that ill take out to the barn now.” I smiled.
“No!” She paused, my head turning to look at her. She cleared her throat before continuing.
“Don’t take them to the barn.”
I opened my mouth to speak, but not before she cut me off again.
“It’s too far from the house, not to mention the barn needs some repairs. I’d feel absolutely horrible if I let you go up there and get hurt. We have a little garden shed out back I can put them in.” She stated, walking with me to the car, grabbing the equipment out, briefly making eye contact and sharing a soft smile.
“Are you sure? I honestly don’t mind.”
“I’m sure, now it’s best if you go sit down for a bit.”
“Pat-“
“Go on, get away.” She swatted softly.
I shook my head as I backed away.
“It’s hardly fair that you guys do everything around here.” I try to argue.
“If you doing nothing around here protects gods little miracle, I do not mind. Now, go sit down and relax for a couple of hours.” She gave me a warning glare that had reminded me of my 5th grade teacher Ms. Gabel.
“Yes Ma’am.” I nodded, turning away from her and made my way towards the RV.
As the majority of the group were discussing the upcoming gun practice at the rear of the RV, I noticed Carl and Shane talking.
Shane looked Carl up and down, as if questioning him, and nodded his head.
I noticed the small movement and my breath stopped.
He had slightly raised his shirt, Shane’s eyes doubling in size.
And that’s when it hit me.
This is a new world we live in.
A world in which to survive we have to fight.
Fight for yourself, your friends, your family, your people.
Shane barely even blinked.
I picked up speed, my legs carrying me as fast as they could to the RV.
“Give me that now.” Shane firmly stated.
Once the gun was handed to Shane, he stormed off to the others, no doubt taking it to Rick.
Carl stood, staring at the ground.
“Hey, Carl..” I spoke softly, placing my hand on his shoulder.
“Let’s sit down, you can talk to me.”
He nodded his head as he walked with me to where the camping chairs were set out.
I took the seat next to him, slightly turning to face him. “What was that about?” “What?” “Carl.. why did you have a gun.” “I just wanted to help..” “I understand, but guns are dangerous.. You shouldn’t have had it.” “I know.” “You do know that your parents are going to flip?.”
He nodded his head and resumed staring at the dirt beneath his feet.
I looked up to see Shane, Dale and Rick staring at Carl, making their way to the boy.
“(Y/n), can you get Lori for me? We need to speak to Carl.” Rick asked, nodding in my direction.
“Yeah.. of course.” I nodded, turning and starting the search for Lori.
The first place I had checked, the fire pit where she and Glenn were earlier showed no results.
I made my way to where the chicken coop was, to be met with the clucking of the hens, but again no Lori.
I checked her tent, to see her sitting on the mattress, head in her hands.
“Hey.” I spoke, moving the door to the side.
“Oh, Hey Honey.” She smiled. “Are you okay?” “Yeah, Im fine, just a little tired. Whats up?”
“It’s Carl.”
She stood quickly, worry present in her eyes.
“What? What’s wrong? Where is my boy?”
“He is okay, he isn’t hurt.. Rick asked me to come get you..” “What? Rick asked you to get me? Whats going on?” “Carl had a gun.”
Her eyes widened, her left hand going to her mouth.
“Oh God… im going to be sick.” She shook her head
She paused briefly.
“Where are they?”
“”They’re at the RV.”
“Let’s go.” She stated, grabbing my wrist and dragging me behind her.
She cleared the distance between the tents and the RV in no time.
Letting my wrist go when she got within earshot of everyone, walking straight over to Carl, taking the gun from Shane and showing it to Carl.
“Where did you get this?” She asked sternly as she kneeled in front of the boy.
She waited for an answer.
“Carl Grimes. You answer me.”
She stood up, turning to us.
“How the hell did this happen?” She asked, tucking the gun into the back of her jeans.
“Well, It's my fault.” Dale began, slightly pausing as Lori’s attention snapped to the older man.
“I let him into the RV. He said he wanted a walkie, that you sent him for one.” Dale continued.
“So on top of everything else, he lied.” She began.
“What was he thinking?”
“He wants to learn how to shoot. He asked me to teach him.” Shane started, earning an ice filled glare from Lori.
“Now It's none of my business, but I'm happy to do it. It's your call.” He nodded, sensing the tension.
“I'm not comfortable with it.” Lori looked towards Rick, who tried to avert his gaze.
“Oh, don't make me out to be the unreasonable one here. Rick?”
“I know. I have my concerns too, but-“
“There's no but. He was just shot. He's just back on his feet and he wants a gun?”
“Better than him being afraid of 'em. There are guns in camp for a reason. He should learn to handle them safely.” Rick responded to his wife’s worries.
“I don't want my kid walking around with a gun.” She shook her head.
“But how can you defend that? You can't let him go around without protection.”
“He is as safe as he'll ever be right now.” She started.
“Look, everything you're saying makes perfect sense. It feels wrong. I mean I didn't feel good about him following you out into the woods. And I wish I'd said something. I should've gone with my gut.” She argued.
“He's growing up, thank god. We've got to start treating him more like an adult.” Rick tried to reason.
“Then he needs to act like one. He's not mature enough to handle a gun.”
“I'm not gonna play with it, mom. It's not a toy. I'm sorry I disappointed you, but I want to look for Sophia and I want to defend our camp. I can't do that without a gun.” Carl stood and walked toward us.
“Shane's the best instructor I know. I've seen him teach kids younger than Carl.”
“He will be with Shane. He loves that boy and wouldn’t let him get hurt.”
Lori looked at me and I could tell that even though the thought of Carl having this gun terrifies her, but him not having one in this world terrifies her even more.
She waited a few moments and walked to Carl, resting her hand under his chin, making him look up at her.
“You will take this seriously and you will behave responsibly. And if I hear from anyone in this camp that you're not living up to our expectations-“
“He won't let you down.” Rick stated clearly behind her.
Carl nodded at Rick and answered with a “yeah.”
The sound of the old blue truck pulled up next to us, Beth, Patricia and Jimmy all inside.
“Now if you're gonna do this, you listen to Shane.”
“Okay, dad.”
“All right? You two be careful.” Rick pointed at Shane and Carl.
“You coming?” Shane asked Glenn.
Glenn shook his head.
“I gotta help Dale clean the spark plugs on the RV. He said he's gonna teach me mechanics. I should probably go look for him.”
“You found me.” Dale called out from two metres behind him, startling Glenn.
Shane nodded and got in the car, starting it.
“He's a good learner.” Dale called out.
I moved towards the car, getting in with Shane, watching as Lori, Rick, Carol, Carl and Andrea piled into the Cherokee.
T-dog jumping in wi†h Shane and I, as we made our way to a neighbouring farm’s paddock, distancing the gunshots from the Greene farm.
Tumblr media
The sound of breaking glass, and the metallic ricochet of bullets hitting the tins and bottles that were sitting in a perfect row on the boundary fence line.
The loud echoes of the gunshots leaving my ears ringing, the slight scent of gunpowder present in the air.
Rick and Shane pacing behind us all, ensuring that we were all practicing gun safety.
T-dog, partnered with Jimmy, who needs as much help as he can get.
Jimmy was holding his gun as if he had just come from a bad adaption of a 90’s gangsta movie.
“Hey, come on, man. Don't give me that gangsta shit.” T-dog stated.
Jimmy, stood up, straightening his posture, moving his free hand to help support the gun, shooting and finally hitting his target.
His face lighting up as if he had just won an award, a participation award, but an award none the less.
Shane gave him a pat on the back as he passed him.
“Did you see that? I hit it!” He exclaimed turning to T.
I watched as my brother zoned in on Andrea, stopping next to her and looking to where she was shooting, through his binoculars.
Helping her change her posture before letting her shoot again, which she hit the target perfectly.
Shane and Rick shared a laugh, and some small talk before continuing the pacing.
Lori was planted a metre behind Carl, watching him shoot, hitting the tin off the fence.
“Got it.” Carl smiled widely.
“That's a great shot!” Rick smiled back at him.
I look over to where Beth was aiming at her target, slightly missing it.
“Hey.” “Oh hey.” “Would you like some help?” “Um, I think im not doing it right.” “Oh, no, it’s fine, here.”
I moved to where she was and helped position her arms.
“Dont be scared, of the gun. You’re in control.” I paused.
“Just breathe, take your time. There’s nothing to be nervous about.”
She visibly relaxed and pulled the trigger, the glass bottle exploding.
I looked over to see her eyes closed.
“Beth. You did it. You hit the bottle.” “What? I did?” She asked opening her eyes and looking to where the bottle once sat.
“I hit it! I actually hit it!” She beamed.
“Thank you!” She jumped on me, hugging me tightly.
“You’re welcome.” I laughed.
“What about you (Y/n)? You a good shot?” Rick asked.
“I was once.” I nodded.
“She had the best teacher.” Shane smiled.
“Yeah. Grandma.” I jeered.
“Oh really? Mind showing us?” Lori laughed. “No-“ “She wasn’t the strongest shooter, she probably forgot.” Shane shook his head laughing.
I grabbed the gun from Shane’s holster and shot three targets in a row, the sound of shattering glass echoing beyond the gun.
“Where’d that come from?” Shane asked as I handed him the gun back. “I told you. Grandma.” I smiled as Lori held in a small chuckle.
“Yeah, Yeah. Let’s go then.” Shane shook his head.
“Sure showed him.” Lori chuckled.
“Shane needs to be put in his place. I never had a strong shooting arm when I was a kid. Shane never tried to teach me after he realised. Grandma took it upon herself to teach me. Always said that a woman should always know how to defend herself.” “Well, your grandma was a smart woman.” Rick smiled, leading his wife and son to the car.
Everyone following in pursuit, getting into the same vehicles that had transported them from the Greene farm.
I got in the car, and looked at Shane.
“Is there any other things that Grandma showed you?”
“The secret recipe of her butternut squash pie.”
“Is that all?” He laughed.
“Yeah.. yeah I think thats pretty much it.”
“That pie sounds good right about now.” T-dog chuckled.
“Maybe Hershel might let me commandeer the kitchen.”

Shane had pulled the car over.
T-dog, jumping straight out in search for Dale and Glenn.
“Get out.” “What?” “Get out. Andrea and I are going for some more target practice.” “Oh is that what we’re calling it now? Target practice?” “Shut it. Now get out.”
“Alright. But please please please make sure that you wrap it before you tap it.” “(Y/n)-“
“No glove, no love.” “Seriously-“
“Plug your funnel then enter the tunnel.” “What does that one even mean?”
“If im being honest I don’t even know. But It’s on the same line as the others.”
“Seriously get out now.”
“Alright, alright. Calm down.” I raised my hands and opened the door, sliding out and closing it, putting my head through the open window. “Shane.” “What?”
“Love is cleaner with a packaged Weiner.” I laughed.
“Goodbye.” He muttered through his teeth.
I took a step back from the car, watching as he moved to where Andrea was waiting, letting her hop in and then taking off down the dirt road towards the gate again.
I laughed to myself as I made my way towards the RV and the others.
“Whats so funny?” Carol asked smiling.
“Nothing, just thought of a joke. Do you need a hand?” I chuckled.
“Sure, sit down and I’ll show you how.” She smiled.
I knelt next to her, watching as she continued patching holes in clothes for us.
Her work perfect.
“How did you get it to look so good?” “Years of practice. Ed used to come home after going to the bar in a mess, clothes torn and bloody from fighting earlier in the night.”
She paused, taking a breath.
“He used to say that it was my job to fix the mess and clean it.”
“Carol-“ “Oh no honey, im fine.” She smiled once more.
I nodded.
Carol and I sat for an hour and a half, her teaching me different stitches and when the best use for each one.
“Alright guys, foods ready.” Dale called out.
I stood up, and walked over to Dale, who had two plates set aside, handing them to me.
“I figured that you’d be hungry, Daryl would be too.” “Thank you Dale.” “Go on, go eat. Make sure He eats too or we will all be insufferable.”
I nodded my head and chuckled, turning around and heading towards the farm house.
“Hey (Y/n).” Maggie smiled as she walked down the front steps.
“Hey.” “Glenn and I are going for a supply run, im going to keep an eye out for any pre-natal vitamins for you. Is there anything you’re after?” “Oh thank you, not that I can think of.” “Okay, well, Daryls upstairs, I think he might be asleep, but head on up.” She smiled.
“Thank you.” I smiled as she continued past me.
I made my way up and into the Greene family home, and up those familiar steps that lead me to Daryls room.
I softly pushed the door open and walked in, smiling as I see Daryl sit himself up.
“Where have ya’ been all day?” He asked
“I, have been everywhere today it seems, Shane and I went on a supply run this morning.”
“Ya’ did what?”
“Daryl-“ “I don’t want ya’ out there. Why would he take ya’ out?” “He didn’t take me, I took him. Technically. But it was smooth, no near death experiences to report.” I smiled softly.
“Dale cooked whatever, this is for us. It smells good though.” I chuckled handing him a plate.
He took the plate and picked up the food, biting away at it.
“Quit ya’ starin’.” He spoke through a mouthful.
“Or what?” I challenged, taking a bite from the food.
He shook his head as a light pink blush rose on his cheeks.
“Are you blushing?” I grinned, watching as he finished eating.
He grabbed his plate and moved it to the side, grabbing mine from my hand and placing it on his own.
“Hey! I wasn’t finished- “
“C’mere.” He muttered, reaching over, pulling me onto his lap.
“Daryl.. what are you trying to do?” “I’m tryin’ to finish what ya’ started.” “Oh, what I started?” I grinned, my hands resting on his shoulders.
“Mhmm” he nodded.
“If I remember correctly, it was you, that initiated this.” “Was it?” He smirked.
I nodded my head.
“Guess im gonna finish it too.” He stated, bringing his hand to the back of my neck, pulling me in for a kiss.
I smiled into the kiss, both of my hands made their way to the sides of his face, cupping his stubbled cheeks.
His hands moving down to my thighs, picking me up and laying me back.
I pulled away from his lips and smiled up at him.
“What?” He muttered.
“Nothing.” I shook my head softly, bringing his face back down to mine.
Daryl’s hands roamed freely over my body, sending shivers coursing down my spine.
I shivered against Daryl, earning a low chuckle from him.

Once Daryl had fallen asleep, I got dressed and took the plates downstairs for cleaning.
I left the farm house, making my way to our little camp.
Washing up the two plates in the tub we had set aside I left the two to air dry.
“I was wondering where you’d run off to.” Lori spoke up as she exited her tent.
“I just gave Daryl his lunch.” I smiled, getting off the ground.
“Thats not all you gave him.” I could hear the smirk in her voice without even turning to look at her.
I smiled and turned to face her.
“I don’t know what it is you’re implying Lori.”
“Sure you don’t.” She grinned.
“How else would your shirt be inside out.”
I looked down and laughed, quickly stripping my shirt off and flipping it the right way in.
“Lucky it was only me.” She laughed, patting my back.
“Ill give you a hand.” I smiled motioning to the laundry that needed folding.
We laughed and joked for about 15 minutes as we folded, the clothes.
The creak of the side paddock gate gained the attention of both Lori and I.
We looked up to see Maggie storming through, Glenn hot on her heels.
“Hey! We got your stuff.” Maggie called out.
“Maggie, hang on, please.” Glenn called after her.
Lori looked around, seeing who else was out.
Then she looked at me.
“Come on in here.” Lori tried softly, gesturing to her tent.
“Why? Nothing to hide. We got your special delivery right here.” Maggie started.
“We got your lotion, got your conditioner, your soap opera digest.” She named each item before throwing it to the floor.
“Maggie..” Lori tried.
“Hey, Maggie, calm down. What-“ I tried to reason.
“Next time you want something, get it your damn self. We're not your errand boys.”
“Honey, I-“
“And here's your abortion pills.” She threw a small blue box at Lori, storming off, Glenn and Lori sharing a look before he followed Maggie.
“Lori?” I asked softly as she stood there in silence.
“Honey, I can explain.” “You don’t need to explain anything to me.” I stated bringing her in for a hug.
“I just wish you’d have told me.. we could’ve talked about it.” I rubbed her back.
“I just don’t know what to do. I haven’t told Rick yet. I’m not going to until I know what I’m going to do.” She paused.
“Does that make me a bad wife?” She asked.
“No. It makes you a cautious one, and thats not a bad thing considering what’s happened in the last few months.”
“You have no idea how good it feels now that you know.” She softly laughed.
“I’d say it’d be a whole lot less stressful.” I laughed with her as we sat on the small stools near the table in the tent.
The little blue box holding the attention of both Lori and myself.
“Whatever you decide to, I’m here to support you.” I whispered placing my hand on her own.
She grabbed my hand and looked over to me, a thankful smile on her face.
A slight movement from the corner of my eye caught my attention, to see Glenn appear at the tents doorway.
“I’ll leave you guys to it.. just come get me if you need anything.”
“Thank you honey.” She hugged me.
“I’ll see you later Glenn.” I smiled, softly patting him on the back.
“Yeah, see you.” He nodded as I made my way through the tents door.
The familiar green car came into view and pulled up by the RV.
I couldn’t help but chuckle as I noticed the light flush on Andrea’s face as she climbed out of the car.
I made eye contact with Shane, him rolling his eyes as he noticed the small smirk on my face, continuing his walk to Carol and Dale.
“Anything?” Carol was the first to speak.
“Not today.” Shane shook his head.
“I’m so sorry. We'll cover more ground tomorrow.” Andrea sympathised with her at least.
Andrea was covered in more grime and dirt than what she had left in, signalling that they’d run into some sort of trouble whilst out.
“What happened out there?” Dale asked looking her up and down.
“Um, I-“ Andrea was cut off before she could even finish her sentence.
“The place was overrun.” Shane said far too quickly.
“Yeah.” Andrea agreed, sharing a look with my brother.
“Let's go get you clean up.” Carol motioned towards Andrea, pulling me along with them.
“(Y/n), you coming?” “Yeah, i’ll catch up, just got to grab Andrea a towel.” I smiled running into the small share tent, grabbing one of the towels.
I turned to leave, but overheard Dale call out to Shane.
“Shane.” “Shane, I was thinking, you've got that nice new ride of yours, plenty of fuel, more than enough for you to get far from here.” Dale began.
I furrowed my brows, not understanding where Dale is coming from.
“What, you telling me to leave?” Shane asked, annoyance clear in his voice.
“I know you've been planning to. Maybe now is a good time.” Dale responded.
Shane scoffed before laughing.
“Is this about Andrea?” He asked.
“I’m looking out for the group.”
“You think the group would be better off without me, Dale? My sister would be better off? Why don't you tell that to Rick or Lori? Their boy would be dead if I hadn't put my ass on the line.” Shane argued.
“And Otis's. You've been vague about that night, about what happened.”
“Otis died a hero.” Shane stated smugly.
“So you've said.”
“A little boy lived because of what went down that night. I think you ought to show some gratitude.” Shane sneered
“I wasn't there.” Dale responded.
“No, man, you weren’t.” Shane agreed, clearly angry.
“But I was the time that you raised your gun on Rick.” My hand instantly covered my mouth as I had heard what Dale had said.
“Come on. Jesus.”
“You had him in your sights and you held him there. I know what kind of man you are.” Dale continued.
I heard a sigh, the same one that I’ve heard my entire life, the one that Shane used to use when he was caught in something.
Shane stayed silent for a moment before speaking once more.
“You think I'd shoot Rick? That is my best friend. That's the man that I love. I love him like he's my brother. You think that's the kind of man I am?”
“That's right.” Dale answered.
“Well, maybe we ought to just think that through. Say I'm the kind of man who'd gun down his own best friend. What do you think I'd do to some guy that I don't even like when he starts throwing accusations my way? What do you think?” Shane threatened before retreating.
My stomach was in knots, knowing that my brother isn’t the man I knew.
I heard the footsteps retreat and decided to give myself a moment.
I took a deep breath, and shook my head softly.
As I took a step out of the tent, gasping when someone spoke.
“How much of that did you hear?”
