okay I'm gonna talk abt more chapter 4 stuff.. this time about prototype's previous identity.. ch4 spoilers and also a theory below..

people theorized 1006 was elliot, which was recently disproven in the chapter 4 tape where poppy refers to elliot as her dad and wishes he were there. in the same tape she addresses prototype as a completely different person. also recall that elliot died in the 90s, meanwhile prototype met theo in 1989. so yeah, they aren't the same person

I've also seen people say rich is prototype, which cannot be true either. in a ch4 tape he speaks to one of the employees under his supervision. the kid mentions his coworkers joking about him going missing. before the bbi, it would not make sense for this to be a common rumor at the company, which means this tape had to happen after harley was hired in 1990; at a time when the company would have a reason to silence people

prototype existed in 1989 at the minimum, but considering he says "it's always been about you and me" to poppy, he's likely the prototype of HER. she's elliots daughter, she died in the 60s, meaning prototype was probably created around that time as well.

this means that rich can't be the prototype because he was human long after prototype was made

if you want my take on who prototype truly is, i'd say his identity doesn't necessarily matter. i don't mean to say his origins aren't important, just that his name and specific role in the past probably doesn't mean anything in the long run. i've never believed he was elliot or rich, and maybe in the future i'll be proven wrong but for now i'll tell you the theory i've had since june of last year

elliot's daughter dies in the 60s. he divorced his wife in 1930, so his daughter is probably in her 30s when she dies. she gets sick or injured, maybe she's actively dying or already dead by the time elliot begins his research. he looks for ways to bring her back, but it doesn't work on the rats (as he mentioned a note in the 2nd chapter)

so what does he do? he tries it on something bigger as he said he would: a human. of course he's not going to try this experimental method on his own daughter, even if she's already dead, so he finds someone else to use it on. we know that elliot wasn't evil or anything, so it's unlikely he killed anybody to use for the experiment. considering the orphanage isn't open yet (it opened in the 70s, not the 60s), prototype probably wasn't an orphan child either. if i run with my simple version of the theory, elliot may have dug up a body in a graveyard and used that. maybe a fresh one, who knows. he tried it, it worked, then he revived his daughter with the same method.

this is likely what harley wanted to know about in the chapter 3 tape (the "i learn something new about you every day" one), and also what prototype is asking harley to figure out in the ch4 tape they're both in. in that case, sawyer never actually figured out how to revive people with the poppy substance. sure, he can transfer people into the toys, but he can't bring anybody back to life

more reason to believe prototype and poppy are of the same "batch" is because it seems they are the only two who don't need food. it's outright stated about him in the ch1 trailer, and insinuated with her saying the "toys will starve otherwise" when she's talking about how nasty them eating humans is. she refers to them, not herself. her and prototype are probably the only 2 who were ever brought back from the dead, which circles back around to his monologue and gives meaning to the "it's always been about you and me, poppy. what we are". when i heard him say that i felt like my theory was lowk confirmed 😭😭

Girl ok so I blind ordered 2 dif scents this month and the first one I was supposed to get like 2 weeks ago and never came and i was devastated but couldn’t do much about it since due to my strange address this happens all the time. I didn’t want to bother the seller to refund me bc it isn’t their fault that the usps is two blocks from my house and still can’t get our address right ykwim which is. But anyway so I ordered a second one something different right ok so the 2nd one came and I was so excited and the bottle was huge and so pretty so i sprayed it on my knee bc I don’t want it too close to my face in case I don’t like it that much and I am so sad to say I actually couldn’t stand it and I was so sad I was literally devastated AGAIN like two L’s kn a row one I never got and one I didn’t like and the one I didn’t like had unfortunately SUCH staying power like in any other fragrance I’d be so excited!! Bc it lasts but it reminded me so much of like my mom and triggering notes that I tried twice to wash it off and couldn’t get it off so that was like. Traumatizing and disappointing to be clear it doesn’t smell bad i just have bad associations w the profile of it and don’t know how I didn’t realize that would happen because I ordered it after checking out what notes it had and it seemed like something that should have been right up my alley or I wouldn’t have blind bought it must just be a specific note or layering I don’t know how to identify and avoid idk idk

Today!!!!! The first fragrance that was lost in the mail weeks ago SHOWED UP with a totally unrelated thing I ordered and I finally got to try it. And bitch it smells so good and it smells EVEN BETTER ON MY SKIN

I smell like literal caramel like a white girl Starbucks drink … someone better slurp me up immediately it oxidized so intoxicatingly on my skin I’m obsessed……. Like I’m not a gourmand girlie usually but this is . Holy fuck, I would eat me ALIVE

if a girl walked by me on the street wearing this I’d be drooling

Anyway this is it

It’s the chai epice and it smells more like actual chai when first sprayed but after a few minutes everything spicy about it mostly melts away and what’s left is the marshmallow caramel which again, is normally not my vibe but I’m just, it’s so yummy

It’s like vanilla ice cream and it is just so hot here. That is the vibe yk

having worked in a caramel manufacturing company I am deeply familiar with this scent profile we used to make it in fresh batches in a giant copper cauldron that you stir constantly with a 4ft wooden scraper for four hours. like a witch. Caramel days were always great days to be an opener bc you smell it all morning and then I used to get the last of the batch that’s like the extra caramelized sticky sugar syrup from the bottom of the batch that’s almost burnt because it stayed at the bottom thickening while the rest was portioned out so it can’t be bottled and sold like the rest. Only a little bit of it would be like this just the scrapings of the vat so I’d keep a container and put a few ounces in my espresso bc the roast on the beans covers up the mildly burnt sugar perfectly and the sauce is warm and thick like honey

Anyway fragrance reminds me of that except meanwhile I’m not wiping tables or flipping chairs or calibrating the grinders or temping sauces or wiping spilled milk the closers missed out of the lowboys. So it’s better. Lmao

We’re literally the same, like LIDOLLY the sammeeee. My playlists are so bipolar—I genuinely don’t know how I manage to listen to them on shuffle. I try so hard to keep them organized, but it just never works.

As for my favorite genres, I’d say hip hop, R&B, late 80’s-90s-pop ,and Afro beats. I’ve kinda fallen out of love with K-pop, especially after NewJeans disbanded—TVT. I honestly lost hope in the industry. It feels like everyone’s just chasing trends and virality instead of focusing on the music itself or understanding the culture behind it. It’s really disheartening. I love art a lot, and I love consuming it, so seeing K-pop groups perform songs rooted in cultures outside of Korea without real engagement or respect just feels… corporate. Too surface-level. It makes me so sad, especially because I used to love it so much. Seeing it shift like this is honestly unfortunate.

On another note—about R1—I MUST WAIT. The more snippets I see, the more I know without the proper context, and that just makes the actual experience less satisfying. I’d rather read it all in one go and fully immerse myself, so for now, I shall sit and meditate until the batch release.

BUT… the one thing I’m burning to know is: what were in those dam flowers Heeseung gave to the MC? Were they based on a real type of flower? I need to know. Ever since the hospital scene, I haven’t stopped thinking about it. Heeseung is such a drama queen—and honestly, I’m so here for it.

Hey!! I know this is a fandom blog ( and I love your content), not a med one but I was wondering if you could share how you remember all the stuff from past years ? Do you have any tips or use any apps etc ? I’m starting my second year soon…Also any other general tips esp about note keeping. I have been trying different ones to see which works… thank you! Hellooo and thank you! This is very much a personal blog as much as a fandom blog so questions like this is always welcome 💖 

Admittedly, I’m not the best at memorising things long-term 🙈 Short-term memory for exams? No problem. Then it’s like, all the nitty gritty details I just studied vanish without a trace right after hahahaha. (1/2 joke omg) 

This turned out to be quite long (sorry) so there’s a summary at the end hahaha. Also, just a disclaimer: my experience and programme may be different from yours but hopefully the general tips help you! 

That thing that helps me the most is application of knowledge. So how we are trained is the first three years of med school is 90% theory with some patient encounters in our 2nd and 3rd year (but not a lot). Then 4th year is clerkship where we should be in hospital doing all the practical work (which I’m missing out on right now because of the pandemic 💔). But our curriculum is also grounded on a lot of case discussions so we are given patient scenarios and we have to go through the history, physical exam, differential diagnoses, ancillaries, and management of the patient every time. That helps me a lot because I would have patients in mind for certain diseases and it helps me integrate the theoretical knowledge. We do this a lot so repetition is another thing that makes information stick better. 

Note taking! So, personally, I prefer the physical act of writing down notes because I tend to focus more and remember better. I use an iPad now for all my notes so I follow lectures or discussions while annotating powerpoint presentations or previous transes. It’s honestly the best investment I made for med school. But I didn’t always have an iPad and in my first two years, I printed out notes from older med students that were nice enough to share theirs hahaha. The note taking app I use is GOODNOTES (I’ve watched so many youtube videos comparing GN and notability and decided for this one in the end; no regrets). 

Another thing I do is watch a lot of (youtube) videos! Because I am a visual learner, I would watch something on the topic first before I read my notes/books so it’s easier for me to imagine and integrate concepts. You may already know them but my favourites are:

Sketchy Med (my friend just gave me downloads of this so I don’t have a link sorry 😓) 

Ninja Nerd 

Medicosis Perfectionalis (single handedly helped me through hematology!!!) 

Dirty Medicine 

Armando Hasudungan

Other apps/websites I use for references are: Medscape (free), UpToDate (subscription), and Amboss (subscription)

I also do a lot of sample exams. So I try to answer and rationalise the old exams/quizzes of the previous batches because 1) I get to test myself with how much I learned from my revisions and 2) it helps me see how the questions are asked so I know where to focus when I go back on my notes. My friends and I would also quiz each other and bridge gaps in what we don’t know. 

And finally, you are going on your second year congraaaats. 💫  Ngl, I struggled during my first year cos it was a loooooooot of theory. Slugged through it by pure memorisation. It helped that my pre-med exposed me to the medical field already but it was still tough. Second year was so much better for me cos that’s when I started feeling like I was actually studying medicine as opposed to like a very advanced science course hahaha. I think you’ll start to really appreciate it and remember better when you start talking about cases than just concepts??? 

SO BECAUSE THIS WAS SO LONG, LEMME GIVE YOU A SUMMARY HAHA

Try applying what you’ve learned to real life case scenarios if you can; you know someone who has hypertension or diabetes? Look at the medications they’re taking, what clinical manifestations they have, maybe look at their labs if they let you... it’ll be easier when you have people in mind vs just book knowledge 

Repetition. It’s just a lot of reading and re-reading and re-reading until it becomes ingrained in your brain and you can recite it even when you’re half dead from sleep deprivation. 

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes!!! Shoot your shot! Participate in recitations and discussions! Mistakes made in front of my professors and peers has been decidedly mortifying but quite a learning experience because I tend to remember the corrections more (alongside the embarrassment hahahaha). And it’s better to make mistakes in med school than in the hospital. 

Take physical notes. It’s just better. Hahahaha. Doesn’t matter if it’s on paper or a tablet, as long as you’re writing things down yourself.

Watch videos to help you remember better! 

Do practice exams to test yourself and see what you need to review on more; study with a friend if you can (even virtual) and try to quiz each other.

Guess its time for update posts again huh?

So I just want to lay this out first, in light of some things...

Personally, I really am not okay/comfortable with tracing of my work in any way/shape/form. It is something that I do take issue with & would prefer NOT be done, & especially if it is vent art. However, since I feel someone is going to do it anyway (since I know this stuff can happen regardless of my wishes), the only thing I can ask is that I at least be credited for whatever is copied & that it NOT be used for profit. I DON’T want my work being used that way at all due to how my personal stuff is, well, personal to me? But if that still isn’t going to stop someone, then I at least ask for credit where due, & that it be solely for personal use.

That said, I also am going to say this—I am more than willing to be asked for art tips & stuff of that nature. I add this bc I know in most cases, it tends to be due to someone wanting to be better w their work (even if it isn’t exactly approached in the best way at times)... so I figured, why not be willing to help, since to me that’s much more beneficial a solution in the long run. Better this method for me, personally.

Now, all that out the way, bc I don’t want to discuss that any further—

Life so far has been a bit... well, idk. Lupus still is a bitch to deal with & I’m soon barely gonna be on month 2 of treatment for it. Meds for lupus that I’m on unfortunately take about 3-6 months to see their full effects, so until then I am more or less getting by, doing what I can & resting on the days I get major flares. I will say tho it is ... well, VERY difficult to make it through the days when you have this, as well as a bunch of past issues & mental illness bs, & more irl stuff like bills to add to that... but I’m managing as best as I can. After all I did manage to finally pay off two of my bills, so. Progress. Nothin’s gonna be keeping this bitch down LOL

Commission work rn is in progress too—& thankfully I am doing better on that front, as meds have at least gotten me to function a /little/ better. Its not by much sure, but any sort of progress is better than none, especially when I’m actually getting work done (rn I got 1/4 comms done for this batch & am workin on my 2nd, which was bein paid to be self indulgent <<“). I am still taking it steady, making sure to pace myself appropriately, but also making sure not to overdo it. I plan also to maybe make designs to sell more, but we shall see how that goes?

Also I am trying to get back to bein more active on dA. I need to REALLY be reminded to update that place bc I am super forgetful >>.... but still. Details.

Now, in regards to personal work, I do want to say this... I most likely will, for a while, be kind of focusing more on my own self indulgent stuff (be it fandom related or not), as well as be more oriented towards my own OCs & probably talking abt them more. This is both in part due to recent events AS WELL as the fact that this sort of thing helps me cope, & honestly I figure maybe its about time I start lettin myself be open to talkin abt my own original stuff again & let myself be more self indulgent (regardless if its purely oc stuff or oc/canon or whatever the fuck). It makes me happy to be able to be more open in discussing this stuff, & frankly that’s most important, so.

For a long time I kind of clammed up abt my stuff due to being in a crowd that kinda heavily discouraged that, & over the past two years I’ve managed to break outta that enough to where I feel ready to try again. So If you notice I’m not postin /as/ much j.s.@.b related content in my free time? It is due to this reason specifically, & I would heavily appreciate not being pestered abt this decision. This doesn’t mean I will stop making fanart altogether, but I feel I need to give much more time to myself & my more personal stuff too. My AU blog will also be on a temporary pause again due to this—as I feel a need to kind of reorient myself & also do other things I love that aren’t just fandom based—goin back to my roots as more OC focused which was what this acct was when I first started <<

All this said, I also want to thank people for the support I HAVE received, as I am both close to 600 follows here & already reached over 1k on my twitter (to which I’m hosting a raffle for over there)! Its not somethin I anticipated this soon, but it does mean a lot. I’m thinking I may do a sketch rq stream for this place when I get the chance—uncertain yet, gotta see what my physical health will allow me ofc lmao. But if I do I may also set it to be mic on & all that, so. There’s that. For now these are just ideas though, no solid plans set in stone or anything.

I guess that’s about it for updates? Bit longer than usual I gotta admit, but 🤷‍♀️

Let's back up a bit.

Wedding Planning Pt2: invitations

I'm kinda jumping ahead of a bit but im pissed rn so we'll circle back around to the cute fun stuff of this topic. I'm sure by now you all have seen our bomb ass engagement photos. We loved them so much we wanted to use them as our save the dates!

We ordered our save the dates through this company. Being the life-long procrastinators we have chosen to be admittedly we sat on this longer than need be. So we Paid extra for the faster shipping. We get all giddy and excited because it's just one more step towards our new lives. Of course she goes to check on it first ... But the tracking number we received was not working. Called customer service and TREVOR explained that somehow our save the dates were lost!!

Some shit about the post office not scanning the box or something. Now they are a small business, probably have one person taking mail. Part of me felt like they just forgot to put the box in the mail. None of that mattered though. We NEED these save the dates ASAP.

He assured us he was print us new ones and they would be shipped out immediately and they would refund me The extra shipping cost. I lightheartedly tell him The misses will kill me cuz The was my task so don't worried about refunding the money and if we have to pay more to get same day shipping we'll do that. Apparently they can't do same day shipping which makes no damn sense but whateva. The next morning the original package mysteriously  gets an update on the tracking number. Interesting... But regardless Trevor said he would send us a new set. Then we get an email. They TOO have noticed movement on the package and now will WAIT and see before they send a new set.

Um..

..No. We explain to them that we could not afford to wait, which is why we paid extra for the shipping anyway. I asked again for Trevor. He said they understood and would go ahead making the second batch. They were just "letting me know"... Ok... A day goes by and we reach out again because we havent got a tracking number for the second batch. They tell us that the second batch did not pass its quality control inspection and now they have to print a THIRD batch which would take another 3 days!!! They said the good news was that it looked like the original batch would be there the next day anyways. Upon hearing this my sweet little future wife begins tear up off pure frustration. Because honestly, and tell us if we wrong, but it really felt like our original assumptions about them just forgetting to mail the first box was correct. And now they are dragging us along until it shows up so they don't have to make a new box...

Am I wrong?

At this moment my patience had worn out.

I demanded to have this new batch made and shipped the same day because at this point we had wasted too much time to get a refund and go anywhere else. They gave me some b.s. about having a contract with USPS and can't do same day. I demanded to speak to a higher up which i was denied.

Fuck that.

You see the unseen problem small businesses have is that They rely too much on their own social media. So finding the CEO was only a click away.

And I sent him a lengthy FB msg

After that They assured me I would be getting my package that day and give me a full refund. Of course I had heard this three times already. I told them I would NOT get off the phone until my packing is literally in the hands of the postman and I get an email SAYING it was shipped. I'm not kidding you guise. I put the phone on speaker at work at say there with them for 5hours.

They actually sent a picture of the box on the truck and then tried to hang up on me! Hold up. No. I said I needed both the picture AND update on the tracking. Not just being a dick about the situation but if we all remember in the beginning how this all started was them saying "the mail man must have forgotten to scan it..." So you will WAIT with me as I refresh until it says on the way. But I felt bad for the poor girl on the phone, syd I think her name was. So I said this is Trevors fault put his ass on the phone.

There was a strange silence then she says he's out of the office... I really hate when people try and play you like we haven't all worked customer service and managers have given us the I'm not here face

I asked when he would be back and she says she can't give me his schedule. I then tell her if I have to call back for him the civility of this interaction, which was already at a low point, will be null. Further more I have enough sky miles to fly to Utah in the morning if I have to.... By this time the tracking has updated... She tries again to get off the phone. I say where's Trevor.. Oh he has magically reappeared.

Sounding annoyed by having to talk he immediately goes into this bland ingenuine corporate apology. BUT instead of apologizing on behalf of BasicInvite.com this foo says he stands by the quality and service of BasicInvite.com and he apologizes for USPS!?

Bruh...

How you gonna be so self absorbed you gonna blame the Untied States government.

Even if it's true they messed up the first box, which I still don't think they did. What about the 2nd box? Why did I have to curse two poor customer service reps out for you to figure out how to do same day shipping? He then tells me he thought maybe we were trying to get something for free

I told her I will call everyday for the rest of this year until Trevor or Brock takes my call and gives me a real apology.

I called everyday And only saying hello can I speak to Trevor til They blocked me. I then used the website chat. They blocked my IP from going to their website, then gave me a refund. I went to Starbucks used two pcs and vpns til they had to install a new chat service that could block instantly. Still all I said was hello I need to speak to Trevor. Finally getting a formal cease and desist email I stopped.Trevor you should thank your god that my god put a woman in my life with some sense because I was really prepared to torture you for the rest of my living days.

So now I have double the save the dates and nothing to do with them. If It were up to me I'd burn the whole lot of them post the video on IG and tag BasicInvite.com

Anyone out there listening please do not use these people. I should have known from the name they some basic bitches.

charms charms charms was in a bad art slump the past few weeks hopefully i can finish this batch by end of this week... this is my 2nd batch of designs probs will do 2 more batches of new designs after this (the basic ideas all sketched out), i need to get the charm ideas all outta my system (doing DC and marvel and some misc fandom ones, most are tony related if u couldnt guess. for this batch tho im doing a supes, wondy, flash, momoa!aquaman, AVAC stevetony, AA stevetony, tony&peter, and possibly a rhodeytony +  tony with the smol trio(kamala sam & miles) designs

i have a bunch of stupid scribbles i wanna do too, but every waking moment of my tired soul this week is going into charms T_T

(so many pin design sketches sitting on my my hd)!!! i have about 10 im def doing and like another 8 i may/may not do but i really wanna get those outta my system too (original as well as fandom designs, im tempted to make one for tonys bday coming up uhh i may have already sketched it out >>;;;;; also a rlly cool matching steve & tony pin set im def doing, got a cute set & a shitposty set i may do as well as solo tony designs to fullfill my Needs™) charm making threw off my plans of making about 3 pins a month but im probs gona hop back on that schedule june/july haha........

stevetony fanbooks! was working on a happy/fluff one (marriage theme) but i decided i wanna do that after i do my kinda angsty/bittersweet but also happy ending one first (it involves multiverses) i have a few other ones outlined when will i be able to work on them cries

also gotta work on comic for Superhusbands aluminum anniversary anthology, and i kinda got a big thing i wanna do for how i wanna see steve&tonys story end in mcu but im gonna need to reteach myself premiere pro/after effects lmao.......

uhhhhh i could be here all day but i have a few bigger themed illustration sets ive got sketched....villain avengers one (set to one of my fav songs lol), a cacw based, still have the floral suit one from like 3 yrs ago....... i have a LOT of wips ranging from few days old to few years old aksdfjaslfagdgj i also have huge lists of songs i wanna draw to (look i have a cute hs au comic i gotta finish set to avril’s daydream, SO MUCH ANGST u have no idea, so many just tony and just steve song inspos) i just want more time and energy to do everything all the time basically

Ayoko Na Sana by Angela Marquez (Dior Madrigal) Before anything else, thaaaaaank you, @bookwarepublishing for bringing this back! That feeling when you've forgotten a book's title/author so you really can't look for it but then fate takes pity on you & by some cosmic twist of events, poof! There's your book! Aaaaaaah! I'M IN HEAVEN!! This is actually the 2nd book in my fave-but-forgotten-info list that I found again. And they're both in ebook formats, uber suitable to my situation rn. Thank you, internet! *tears of joy* Hahaha I'm digressing though. Back to the topic now. This is not much of a review but more of a fangirling post. ANS automatically became my fave back when I first read the story, when it was first published in print around 10yrs ago. I was asked to name some of my fave MSV books for the anniv (or was it the 1st fan's day?) video that a friend was preparing & this was among the first batch that popped in my mind. When asked why, I couldn't justify it though. I can't pinpoint the specific part of the story that made me like it. I guess, I fell inlove with it because it's sweet, simple, innocent, and heartwarming. Idk how to explain it but everytime I read this tale, my chest is filled with warmth and all goody-giddy feelings. You have to read it to understand me! Reeeeaaaad!! I oblige you! Hahaha Rereading it now, one thing I notice though is the writing. Idk if this was among the 1st few works of Ms. Angela/Dior but it has that teen-ish romance aura to it. Reminds me of the works of my batchmates back in late elementary/early high school. Also, the wording of the lines being 99% Filipino gave an old world feel to the book. But I'm not sure if that's partially because I haven't read a mostly Filipino-worded book in a long time so it feels refreshingly weird. I'm still trying to recall other books from the same year to try & compare if the norm back then was this tone/structure of writing. But those points don't hinder the story. In fact, it adds to its charm. It amplifies the sweetness, purity & innocent-ness(?) of the book. Which made me love it all the more. 😍😍 Piggy Rating: 🐽🐽🐽🐽🐽/5 I'm biased, I know. ✌ Sue me. 😝
