Today’s sidlink doodle is under the read more because it is Tears of the Kingdom spoilers, and no I haven’t begun playing it yet (I’m about halfway through Breath of the Wild) but I’m still incredibly bitter about having spoilers posted under my art, especially when the game has JUST come out, so I had to draw something real cute.

They’re a polycule and in love.

And no this is not an invitation to post more spoilers under my art and I will not be reading reblogs for the foreseeable future aka until I can play the game myself.

I'm basically staying off Tumblr until I get a decent ways into tears of the kingdom but...

I love it so far, I just wish more of the NPCs that Link interacted with in BOTW would acknowledge that?

Like...the people at the stable and Beedle all talk to him like he's someone new...

I also kinda wish that Link's house was his and Zelda's, not just Zelda's... I think it should at least have the champion's weapons still displayed, and Link's Zora armour, at least

FINALLY BEAT TOTK AFTER ALMOST A YEAR 🎉 i feel like i should replay the final boss but handicap myself to not use my lynel bow + bomb flowers bc honestly that was kinda embarassing for ganon. Fucking swept the poor guy😭

I love looking at the little details that changed between botw and totk, it gives little insights into what went on in those five or six years. Like sure, there's all the obvious stuff, with the house and the landing and the school, but there's smaller things too.

For example, swimming and climbing both take significantly less stamina! Staying afloat no longer takes stamina passively! He's been getting his practice in! All that running around in botw has improved his technique XD.

His attacks using a spear are no longer slowed down when hitting an enemy, his final combo strikes using both one and two handed weapons have more weight to them! He's gotten even better at using them.

Similarly, swimming up waterfalls now replenishes stamina - he's improved in that area too, perhaps mastering the subtle magics of using the zora armour. Wall jumping in the climbing gear takes a fraction of energy to what it used to. Hopping ledges is noticeably smoother too!

This one is a headcanon, but I find it quite funny: There are still durians, but Link is no longer allowed to eat them because Zelda realised with horror he was allergic to them and that they aren't supposed to taste 'spicy'. So you can't collect them anymore XD.

SEPFEMBER 2024 PROMPTS LIST

I honestly can't believe this is actually happening. This event was a shower thought a few months ago.

Here's a recap of the event: to participate, make at least one fanwork of any variety during September that features a woman or women from the Zelda franchise as the main character/s. All Linksmeets are welcome in this challenge, as well as general LoZ fans!

Before I drop the prompts list for those who are looking for a little direction, I'd like to mention that I have made an AO3 COLLECTION FOR THIS EVENT. Alastor died in the battle protecting Charlie due to miscalculations. He ended up in heaven of all places, somehow maintained his already twisted sanity, met his mother again, and successfully found a way back to Hell.

He was busy. That’s it. That’s the whole thing.

This fic is soooo good I havent stop thinking about it since I first read it, so please give it a go! I promise you will not regret it!

Reasons the Tears of the Kingdom Zora Quest is hands down the best of the four "Regional Phenomena" quests (moderate spoilers):

-Sidon

-the Zora's domain is gorgeous

-the sludge is genuinely annoying and makes you want to get rid of it

-the whole quest is an multi-layered, befuddling puzzle that takes time and head-scratching to figure out

-the childrens' game is very funny

-the "missing" tablet piece being like four feet away from the rest is very funny

-the Sludge Like that appears at one point being titled "The Ambusher of Mipha's Court" is very funny

-Sidon

-swimming up a waterfall and flying out the top wheeeeeee

-the sky fish literally being just a regular island shaped like a fish is very funny

-Dorephan's hideout being behind a waterfall, the most cliche videogame trope, somehow works because

-A. the Zora domain having like 20 waterfalls makes you either not register to check them or get bored after the 5th one

-B. the Zora armour makes you not realise that there might be something behind waterfalls because you now expect their gameplay purpose to be wheeeeeee

-it's already funny how short Link is but seeing him next to Sidon is just that much more funny

-I swear the quest has a lot more cutscenes and setpieces than the other ones

-Sidon

-the water temple being in the sky makes no fucking sense and yet it does

-the journey to and the water temple being isolated in the sky makes it feel more like a Prominent Location and less like just another point of interest

-the trek to the water temple is long and complex and obtuse and has many enemies and is dramatic as fuck

-low gravity wheeeeeee

-the water temple is gorgeous

-the water temple's puzzles feel more like puzzles and less like "find seven things" (looking at you, fire and wind temples)

-the water temple's two left puzzles fking rock

-SIDON LITERALLY PROPOSES TO LINK

-Sidon's ability in combat is somewhat more nuanced than "big rock man go boom" or "big lightning lady go boom"

-Sidon's regular weapon is a spear, giving him both speed, range, defense, and utility

-Sidon's wink face is peak character design

-everyone in the kingdom coming to see Sidon's coronation and it's like 20 people is very funny

-Sidon actually figured out that Zelda is in to the past and the current one is an identity thief, unlike most other sages
