Today’s sidlink doodle is under the read more because it is Tears of the Kingdom spoilers, and no I haven’t begun playing it yet (I’m about halfway through Breath of the Wild) but I’m still incredibly bitter about having spoilers posted under my art, especially when the game has JUST come out, so I had to draw something real cute.

I love it so far, I just wish more of the NPCs that Link interacted with in BOTW would acknowledge that?

Like...the people at the stable and Beedle all talk to him like he's someone new...

I also kinda wish that Link's house was his and Zelda's, not just Zelda's... I think it should at least have the champion's weapons still displayed, and Link's Zora armour, at least

Okay okay I'm gonna play Twilight Princess again soon (I can't stay away from it for long) but I need a bit of help

When I play it again I kind of want to challenge myself to do something. Preferably a challenge throughout playing, but one to do during the run is fine as well.

Here's the issue. I've already beat Twilight Princess on every console it came out on. I've beat the cave of ordeals multiple times. I've done a 3 heart run where I beat the cave of ordeals. I've obtained every golden bug multiple times. I've gotten all the poe souls. I've gotten every item in the game and upgrade. I've collected all the stamps in the wii u version. I've collected all the heart containers/pieces of heart, and I beat the cave of shadows and set things up so I could have a full set of heart containers for wolf link if I scan my amiibo into breath of the wild. I even performed multiple glitches on both the wii u and gamecube versions of the game, including following my favorite speedrun for Twilight Princess from beginning to end.

So...does anyone have any other challenge ideas?😅

Pre-TotK Sketches - Part 2

PART 1: [link] Disclaimer: these sketches were made waaaay before TotK's release.

Okay, I know that Link is still canonically shorter than Zelda in TotK and I appreciate Short King Link. But please hear me out! my headcanon for BotW Link was that, he went through an overdue growth spurt overnight. And as a consequence, all of his clothes are now too small, especially his Champion Tunic. So Zelda decides to mend his Tunic for him while Link goes for a quick shopping spree to replace his wardrobe with his new size and height.

In TotK's canon, Zelda just commissions somone else to make a new Champion's Tunic with new leather armour. But given that she was the original creator of the Champion Tunic, I headcanon'd that she's the one who mend his Tunic and commissioned a leatherworker to make a personal set of leather armour for her Knight. With her own personal touches in its design.

I had an idea that it was during the "shopping spree trip" that Link stop by the Zora Domain to drop off his Zora armour set to be refitted with King Dorephan's blessings. But Link just missed out seeing Sidon who was away from Hyrule on a diplomatic mission. This also sets up to why Yona has his Zora armour set when Link returns during the events of TotK.

If these sketches get any traction, I might sketch out these ideas into sketch comics.

I love looking at the little details that changed between botw and totk, it gives little insights into what went on in those five or six years. Like sure, there's all the obvious stuff, with the house and the landing and the school, but there's smaller things too.

For example, swimming and climbing both take significantly less stamina! Staying afloat no longer takes stamina passively! He's been getting his practice in! All that running around in botw has improved his technique XD.

His attacks using a spear are no longer slowed down when hitting an enemy, his final combo strikes using both one and two handed weapons have more weight to them! He's gotten even better at using them.

Similarly, swimming up waterfalls now replenishes stamina - he's improved in that area too, perhaps mastering the subtle magics of using the zora armour. Wall jumping in the climbing gear takes a fraction of energy to what it used to. Hopping ledges is noticeably smoother too!

This one is a headcanon, but I find it quite funny: There are still durians, but Link is no longer allowed to eat them because Zelda realised with horror he was allergic to them and that they aren't supposed to taste 'spicy'. So you can't collect them anymore XD.

Okay hear me out.

What if, and I mean this genuinely but also definitely more comedically than anything else, what if Wild's companion in Tears of the Kingdom was the Fierce Deity?

HEAR ME OUT.

It's this big thing in the LU fandom, Wild being in the minority of Links whom didn't have a companion on their journeys (I think Hyrule and Legend ((?)) are the other two). Yes he had wolf-Twilight in botw, but depending on what you think Twi was able to do, he technically doesn't count.

However in totk, Wild definitely doesn't have a companion. There's no Wolfie, no Flora. All you've really got are the Sages' ghostly forms, and I firmly Do Not Believe they count at all.

But we are all overlooking the absolute funniest solution to this, so once again, for your consideration, the Fierce Deity is Wild's totk companion.

Like Wild finds the Fierce Deity mask somewhere in his Hyrule and recognises it. Naturally he immediately goes "yeah this is probably a horrible idea but imma still do it" and puts it on more out of curiosity than anything else. And the Deity, who's spent the last several millenia slowly losing power - both from a lack of physical presence in the world and lack of worshippers of any degree - recognises this dumb idiot and adopts Wild on the spot. He knows this dumbass! His previous host cared very deeply about this idiot, so that means logically the Deity now has to as well. Duh.

The Deity's strength has waned significantly, so He can't offer the same power he had once offered to Time to fight Majora and the moon (read: He can't possess people anymore), but He can give blessings of strength, which is a win in Wild's book.

But way more importantly, the Fierce Deity is 100% done with literally everything that's going on at all times, and makes sure that Wild knows it. Which means that, instead of giving like actually sound advice, He ends up being kinda like Venom except Wild is 75-80% more likely to agree with him.

So totk ends up being kinda like this:

Muzu: *spouting off about how "Zelda" tried to kill Dorephan and brought all the sludge to the Zora's Domain* Fierce Deity *in the back of Wild's mind*: What A Dick -- Wild: *getting beaten up by the first Phantom Ganon he comes across* Fierce Deity: You're Making Us Look Bad! Wild: no I'm not! Fierce Deity: YES YOU ARE! Wild: NO IM NOT! -- Wild: yeah I'm def going to die Fierce Deity: You Are Not Going to Die! *kills everything* -- Wild: *stands at the edge of a sky island* Fierce Deity: Jump. Wild *equipping glide armour*: I like your funny words, magic man
