If you could make only ONE fairy tail ship of yours canon with the magic of your brain which ship would it be? Please ramble. 💚

Laxus/Freed no question about it. It's not even a contest.

Would I like the Levy/Lily/Gajeel polycule to be real? Yes, yes of course I would, but Gajeel/Levy is canon and that's enough for me.

Honestly out of all my Fairy Tail ships (which you can see a full list of Here on my Ship Blog) Laxus/Freed is the closest to canon, and the only one I'd think "Big Win" if it did go canon.

I've never cared much about a ship I like going canon anyway. It doesn't effect much other than the amount of people talking about it.

Honestly what I'd rather do is uncanon some ships.

Number 1 being Erza/Jellal. I have such a thing against Jellal and I apologize he deserved his redemption I'm glad he didn't just like. Die or vanish into obscurity but like! I hate the idea of him and Erza being a canon couple with children some day!! Hate it!! It puts a bad taste in my mouth. I hate being negative tho so I'm not gonna ramble about it too much...

You know what else I want to uncanon?? The ship that floats the whole damn story; Zeref/Mavis

I hate it I hate it I hate it so much I hate how fanon treats it all cute and shit when it's probably the canon most Dead Dove do Not Eat kind of content canon has given us. I don't hate it because it's Dead Dove, that's actually what's holding it together for me, what I hate about it is how integral to the plot it is, how True Love it's treated, how sweet and tragic and twisted by fate it's treated.

It's not! Any of those!! It's a 400 year old man falling in love with a 13 year old girl and yes she's 20 Years Old when he actually realizes what he feels is love but she's still!! Physically!!! Thirteen!!! That's the Point Of The Curse!!! And then!!!!! He impregnates her!!!! AFTER HE THINKS SHE DIES!!!! HELL-FUCKIN-O????

I LOVE Zeref, and I really like Mavis too, I love The Curse Of Contradiction inflicting them both, I love the twisted "love" Zeref feels for Mavis, I love his desperation to find something to love to cling to project on to to save him to fix him to make him feel human again, I love Mavis' bleeding heart, I love Mavis' desire to save Zeref to fix Zeref to make him whole because she's so ful lof love for the world around her and she can see he's suffering and need someone anyone to help him

I think they're story is wonderfully dark. I think Zeref's obsession with her is something I'd very normally adore reading about, but the way it's treated in canon and fanon as a wholesome romance lovers torn apart by fate Romeo and Juilet Bella and Edward bullshit really ruins the whole thing.

Zeref/Mavis is really fucked up and I think we should treat it as such. Not in a boo hate the artist hate the shippers way but in a fun acknowledgment of Dead Dove content way.

for this au, i planned on the zervis kiss not happening immediately and instead, zeref and mavis go to alakitasia for a WHILE and like. yknow. actually have time to fall in love. i do have a specific series of events in mind for mavis's death, though, which is gonna be similar to canon.

i mentioned in a few of my previous posts that when they first kiss, zeref is in her original form. i drew her in her female form when she returns mavis so that precht would have no doubt about who killed mavis (self-punishment, in a way. zeref thinks she deserves to be known as mavis's murderer. my dear little depressed black wizard you need so much therapy.

Queerplatonic nalu is just so big brain i CANT!! I feel like for a manga where the power of friendship reigns supreme finding love for that within the fandom is rare, not that its not there just less often than not

Riiight?? Nalu is so loved in its most simple romantic form in this fandom, though its queerplatonic or siblinglike forms are rising in commonplace nowadays. The Fairy Tail fandom has always bothered me for being so romance-centric, whether in analysis, fanfic, or fanart. It always makes me sad to go to the Fairy Tail tag on ao3 and see nothing but conventional no-magic AU romance fanfiction, because I can't really participate or understand any of that.

I remember the days where even suggesting Natsu or Lucy don't romantically get together puts you in the line of sight of either passionate other-shippers or people that mock you for even suggesting something as delusional as main characters not getting married at the end of the story. Sure aspec takes are coming up more often nowadays, but it used to be completely nonexistent.

I truly believe that Fairy Tail's least truly emphasized or depicted form of love is the romantic one. It spends the first great half of its story emphasizing on family, siblings, friends, partners. It only touched on true romance in the later half with its advancements toward Gajevy and Zervis. I loved the beginning half of Fairy Tail, and it's rather unfortunate the later half that people asked for is always seen as either its worser twin, or simply a mess.

I'd say the depictions of romance is the weakest part of the Fairy Tail story. What spoke to me in this show was always the true, sincere, and so wonderful love and heart present in all the characters, without ever needing 'romantic love' to justify what they did for each other.

I wish Nalu continues this way. I think 100yq may be lining it up for development, finally, and I'll see it through of course. But I will always love the way the main story of Fairy Tail ended-- with many relationships on the horizon, but none (other than Gajevy) officially canonized. It left a lot to our own interpretation, and I think that's the best way to end a tumultuous story about the many forms of love.

Favorite character: Freed

Least Favorite character: Mest. I never liked him and my opinion of him only got worse. Sting is another annoying character.

Most Badass Character: Mirajane. Absolutely, we rarely see her fight but those times she does she's so cool, and I love the scene where she awakens her powers, I've watched that episode so many times that I think I know the lines by heart and every time I don't know if I'm more in love with Freed or Mira (it's also one of my favorite episodes of the series)

I saw a previous ask about ships and as someone that loves gen stuff I highly appreciate how you decided to focus on family and friendship, the world needs more gen fluffness so I love you for that. That being said, I think the fixed ships I saw for now are jerza and zervis? You said the ships weren't going to be a spoiler or anything, so is it alright if I ask?

Yesss gen fluff for the win! I just want to write friends and found family man.

That said, for plot and character reasons, and since this series spans over the course of years and with tons of characters, I can't really avoid it. (And, I mean, there's a few ships I do enjoy. Just passively and stuff.)

So yeah, list! No problem. Not everything is super set in stone, though, and it's pretty background I promise you. Mostly because I am Terrible at writing romance. I don't understand it, lol. So even though they sneak in there, I'm not going to write the romance part in the fore front.

Zeref/Mavis are sprinkled in there, for sure, largely because their romance kinda is a big plot point, what with the mutual cursing each other and all.

Jellal/Erza also, as you said. I pretty much just see them as super close and kinda mushy while also being awkward. I am told that that's attraction, lol. Pretty much what you see now already is what you get. Them being mutual confidants and what-not. Maybe a little too codependent, but getting better.

Gajeel/Levy will probably also make an appearance, but I have also found that I am incapable of writing them as anything but Best Friends, with teasing that probably edges the line into flirting. I think. Close enough.

Alzack/Bisca are still a thing. I don't really mess with them from canon much, lol, so I can't see it differently. Besides.... Asca.......

This is is a maybe, because it's sneaking up on me, but Cana/Juvia might be a thing. I'm sitting here drafting dynamics and every time I leave it for five minutes, I turn around and squint at it, trying to figure out if that crosses the line into romantic or nah. They're playing red-light-green-light with me in my story planning, I swear.

That's it really. Or at least all I can think of. Otherwise it's like... past-past stuff, or way in the background. Like people's parents and what not. Essentially I'm mainly sticking with fairly established stuff here, character-wise, with the exception of Juvicana potentially jumping from platonic to romantic when I'm not looking. Or it'll stay platonic, but just deeply so, like intended. But that one is probably gonna stay "interpret it however" because not even I am a good judge on that one. Granted it's early. Things evolve when I start actually writing it, lol.

And, uh, confession time with slight future spoiler: I'm mainly in it for the potential of kiddos. Romance is a means to an end. I want to go full circle and get some little ones running around and maybe make Acno a granddad by the end of this shebang. The only reason I cross the line from "it's in the background so interpret it however you want" is because I can't hide the fondoodling I need to get the babies. Which is sooooo very not gonna happen on screen don't worry. But you know. That's it.

Another Fairy Tail Next Generation Preference Poll! Nalu son hair color

After you guys helped me pick the name of the Chendy child in my fic (thanks again!) I was hoping you could help me with this, if you were so inclined!

Initially, Luke was going to be blonde with Natsu's spiky hair type. But it sort of occurred to me that I might want to give him something of Zeref and Natsu's mother? (My iteration of fanon's Nashi has pink hair like Natsu.)

Since a more complete character profile helps sometimes: Luke's the younger sibling. He is a celestial wizard, like Lucy, but can do a couple basic fire spells. About as hotheaded and stubborn as you'd expect a child of these two to be, but he's smart and artistic like Lucy. Also can be similarly cocky, especially about his looks. Between them, he takes more after her, but has more Natsu's ambition and drive. Struggles with self-identity and a desire to stand out.

The biggest troll in Fairy Tail was making Zervis canon and then introducing a character who called Zeref his father while having design elements that could have come from Mavis, only to reveal he was just a demon Zeref made, but they did have an actual child. It was the elderly dude who got like 2 minutes of characterization before dying.
