Samus: The Chozo mostly just ate heaps of mealworms.

Have a link to something truly....special????? (I’d say don’t judge me for the other things I wrote between ages 11-18 but also it would be totally fair, fair warning to people out there I did write incest for A Series of Unfortunate Events so maybe avoid those. Or don’t if you really wanna drag me for something that old, free universe ya know.)

So this whole thing kicked off because my sister liked watching me play the BEST LoZ, the Wind Waker. By the time she joined me for this though, I’d already beaten it twice and was having fun looking for seeeeecrets so it took forever to play through. I, brilliantly, offered to let her name my Link. She chose Snape. So I was now Snape and I started to pretend to be him and made all sorts of shitty commentary. I renamed characters as we went and she was into Snape/Lupin at the time (she even drew some amazing fanart of it using the Monty Python sketch Dennis Moore) so Tetra became Lupin. Lucius Malfoy was my little sister/brother/nightmare. On and on. So we have a great time and finish the game and afterwards I get this idea: What if people wrote walk through’s for video games that were fun to read like fanfiction? What if I DID THAT????????????? So I booted a new file and took meticulous notes. I no joke took a whole binder’s worth of notes on the game to make my walk through. And then I got nervous about the concept and luckily a fandom mom swooped in and help build my confidence to post. I was so scared I had my mom read it and I think she was my first ever commenter, and her comment was SUCH a my mom thing I love it! I eventually got burned out because baby me, who had actually FAILED her creative writing section in school and was notorious for hating to write, decided to write a multi-chaptered 100k+ fic for my first story. You know. As you do. 

Eventually I did go back and do a round of editing. And then later I went back again and made it a much better quality fic (11 year old me thought cursing was the bees knees and prime humor so it was EVERYWHERE). And while I’ve never continued since then I still actually have the document for it and I do think about trying to finish it on and off. 

Main stumbling block? I lost all my notes from 20 years ago and don’t actually care to replay the game just to take notes. This is an excuse 100% but it’s still on my “technically alive and to do but let’s be real” fic wip list :p
