Through music they found their connection!
ID: An illustration of Zeke, a young boy with short hair, and Brooke, a young girl with long hair and glasses. Brooke is gesturing dramatically as she holds a flashlight between the two. The light cast on the wall becomes the impressions of a masked phantom and a beautiful woman holding a rose together. End ID.

Zeke: Macb-
Brooke: NO!
Zeke, in between laughs: Macbe-
Brooke: STOP IT!
Zeke: Ma-
Brooke: *covering his mouth*
Bryan: I think that's a little over the top...
Brooke: WHO'S SIDE ARE YOU ON?!
Bryan:
Zeke: *tied up by the two of them with tape over his mouth*

I had a dream this morning (after briefly waking up at 6AM, but that's irrelevant) about a hypothetical Goosebumps the Musical sequel where Brooke, Zeke, and Brian (who I guess loved his friends enough to choose staying in middle school over literally going to Heaven, wow what a guy) committed to being serial preteen paranormal mystery solvers and honestly just. Society if.

No one's put "Whodunit?" up yet so now I got to because I wanna talk about musicals and messaging.
Because, yeah yeah the song's fun but that's not what's important here what's important here is that Zeke, Brian, and Brooke have harmony. So we know they're friends because the language of Musicals tells us so.
First off this is Zeke's only leading number in the entire musical. Thus the participants are people who actively care about Zeke, and his situation; IE: Brooke and Brian.
Second throughout the song Zeke and Brian specifically have pick-ups and plays. When Brian suggests Brooke as a joke- after Zeke's 'person we least suspect' theory- Zeke picks it back up and gets a full verse in before losing it while Brian sits there and lets this levity play out. Songs always amplify relationships in well-written musicals.
Third Brooke and Brian sing in sync and solo of proving Zeke's innocence, and you can't lie in a musical number; they both fully believe in and want to prove Zeke's innocence to the same extent. Brooke's been his best friend since they were 3, Brian's a new addition but he's right there in perfect harmony, without mentioning their relationship because it's about Zeke.
That's why this being a Zeke-led song is important; it all ties back to him somehow, no distracting confusion about Brian doing it for Brooke.
Fourth is just the entire final stanza where all the things I already mentioned come together. Brian and Brooke back up Zeke lyrically just like they're doing emotionally(1). Zeke, then Brooke and finally Brian finish with a line each picking up after the other to indicate general rapport(2). The big finish is even the three in perfect harmony because they're all indisputably on the same page on this. Because harmony is HUGE in a musical; songs happen when words can no longer convey the emotion behind the character after all.
(1): To prevent my persecution (and procure your absolution) I have no choice...
(2): To solve the mystery- Prove the Phantom's history- Brave any twist or evil plot that may ensue
And, don't think I missed that it's Brian the dramatic theater kid who doesn't like horror movies being the one to sing about bravery (and twists I see you ghost boy).

One of my favorite aspects of the “Saw” franchise that I feel is a little underappreciated is that the series’ casting can get a little weird at times. Not bad-weird, more like casting that’ll surprise you at times. My favorite examples:
1) Leigh Whannell as Adam in the first one. He was literally the screenwriter, so it’s a little funny that after writing the movie with James Wan, he decided to play one of the main characters.
2) Donnie Wahlberg of the boy band New Kids on the Block (and Mark Wahlberg’s brother) played corrupt detective Eric Matthews.
3) Michael Emerson, aka Benjamin Linus from Lost, played Zepp.
4) Chester Bennington of Linkin Park (R.I.P.) played the racist neo-nazi who was superglued to the seat of a car.
5) Beverly Mitchell, aka Lucy Camden of 7th Heaven, played Laura
6) This one is weird for me. Angus Macfadyen, who played Jeff Denlon, was the main villain of Equilibrium. Anyone remember that movie? It was the Matrix ripoff in which Christian Bale uses literal gun-fu to fight the fascists who declared war on emotions.
7) Scott Patterson, aka Luke Danes of Gilmore Girls, was Agent Peter Strahm.
8) Sean Patrick Flanery, aka Young Indiana Jones, was Bobby Dagen.
9) Last but not least, Chris Rock played against-type as Detective Zeke Banks.
