A Share of Friendship

Obtainability: Limited to the “Valentines Message” event gacha. 

Single Effect: Defense Up [15%] & Damage Cut [10%] & Attack Down (Self) [20%]

MLB Effect: Defense Up [22.5%] & Damage Cut [15%] & Attack Down (Self) [20%]

Effect Definitions:

Defense Up increases the target’s base defense stats. Defense Up is generally worse than Damage Cut.

Damage Cut reduces the damage from incoming attacks onto the equipped character, and its effects are calculated after buffs/debuffs are considered. Damage Cut is generally better than Defense Up.

Attack Down is a Debuff that will decrease the target’s base attack.

TLDR: “A Share of Friendship” is useful for S3-tier gameplay in Ranked Mirrors. It’s possible that memoria like this might become more important in the future, so if you care about Ranked, keep this one. If you don’t, use it as Enhancement Fodder.

Review: “A Share of Friendship” is similar to another memoria in the game:

(4*) “Slowly But Steadily” Attack Down (Self) [25%] & Defense Up [30%] & Damage Cut [25%]

The differences being that “A Share of Friendship” is a three-star memoria and “Slowly But Steadily is a four-star one. Because of their similarities, this memoria will be largely copy+pasted. Blame the game for reusing effects, not me for being lazy.

You might be looking at “A Share of Friendship” and wondering who the hell this memoria could possibly be useful to. You wouldn’t be alone. It’s certainly not useful for the average player.

However, there is a place where this memoria might shine... Ranked Mirrors. Particularly after the March 2023 changes, where longer battles don’t penalize the player.

This means that it was in a player’s best interest to keep a battle going until they reached the ideal number of Doppels, a Charge bonus of 20+, and several connects. The problem with this is that you also don’t want to murder your opponent while doing this, and preferably you also want to survive if your opponent uses Magia/Doppels themselves.

The solution? Equip memoria like this, which give you high defensive capability while cutting down your offensives.

If you’re wondering, the answer is yes: Ranked Mirrors is insane.

The average player isn’t going to care about this though. Unless you’re aiming for S3 to be the top of the top, don’t feel like you need to bust this one out.

It’s possible that this memoria (and memoria like it) could be more important in the future, so for now put this in the Memoria Vault Jail. However, if you really don’t care about Ranked whatsoever and are content to use solo Charge or solo Blast to get your placements, you can treat this one as Enhancement Fodder.

If you choose to use this for Ranked, you’ll want to use Over-Limiters on it to make sure it’s Max-Awakened, especially given its three-star status.

Opus Colors Episode 1 Review: Perception Art Seems Cool

Here’s the review to one of the three animes I am watching this season. My first impressions? I feel like I have to see more to truly understand the story, but it’s not bad so far.

From what I’m seeing, the anime is about Perception art, which is basically AR/VR type art. There is a school dedicated to it, which is where our three main protagonists attend.

I think Perception art is a cool concept in general. The way you can make stuff via AR/VR makes me wonder if it’ll be a thing in the future. However, my gripe is that the animation for the Perception art stuff can be a bit…weird? Like there are floating eggs at times but there are other instances of flowers and a wolf. Though, the little story with the masked boy was super cool and the best usage of perception art so far. If the anime keeps giving that sort of animation, I think this would be okay.

The first protagonist Kazuya Yamanashi is a Perception artist due to his parents’ influence. He stays in touch with his childhood friend Jun, but is distanced from the other one, Takise, who is two years older than him.

The school they attend is divided into two sections, Artists and Graders. Both sides are heavily hostile towards each other and it makes no sense to me. If you’re going to work together in the art industry, wouldn’t it be best to work together? I think that the school is going to be united by the end. Kazuya and Jun are Artists while Takise is a Grader, by the way.

There are a lot of characters that I can’t really keep track of. Hopefully, pairing them together will help me understand who they all are because a large cast from the get go is going to get messy if not done properly. The most jarring thing about the character designs is that all the characters HAVE THE EXACT SAME FACE! Just tweaking the eyes and changing the hair style won’t conceal these eyes of mine. I can see that they all suffer from same face syndrome. Gosh, am I going to be able to remember all these characters?

The voice cast is superb; it’s pretty much the reason why I wanted to watch and review this anime. Even if this anime turns out bad, I will enjoy it for the cast. For now, I can hear Yuma Uchida, Natsuki Hanae (though, he was a bit hard to decipher since his range for cute teen boys varies depending on the appearance), Ryota Ohsaka, Nobuhiko Okamoto and Daisuke Ono so far. I have to hear the others later on to see who they are voiced by. 

The music so far seems generic. Though, the song used in the perception art portion was good. Other than that, the regular BGM are just there—not memorable at all.

For now, I’m probably going to write shorter reviews for this anime because there’s not much I can talk about since I don’t know anything right now. All I know is that the reason Kazuya and Takise had a falling out was due to an accident that caused Kazuya’s parents’ death. Yikes. There’s going to be angst in this anime? I’m never prepared for sudden angst.

*[T/N]　the kanji Sakurai uses in the lyrics is 狂う、”go mad”, even though in the song it sounds like 来る, “to come”, which makes sense in the context of "the next train coming"

+ it has been confirmed by Sakurai that the lyrics depict experiences of a "man with a woman's soul" who wishes to live as feminine (whether it's an euphemism for a transgender woman or a gnc man isn't entirely clear to me, i think it could be both). either way, it seems to express frustration at being unable to get rid of your masculinity completely - x

edit: here "grandma" and "grandpa" refer to older people in general, not necessarily relatives (in fact, the chosen kanji would imply that it's the former, not the latter). that part of the song seems also to be a reference to the Japanese custom of holding hands and helping a child safely cross the street, except here they refuse :(

Tidak semua orang memikirkannya, bahkan terobsesi. Tapi ada dan mungkin ini luput dari perhatian. Bahwa untuk setiap waktunya ada perjuangan untuk bisa dikenal.

Nama Ronald Rodman, ia punya toko kecil itu sudah sejak ia keluar dari restoran tempat ia bekerja sebelum ini. Pekerjaannya sebagai tukang masak, dahulu pernah mendorong gerobak nasi goreng milik bapaknya yang sakit. Bapaknya yang dulu berjualan nasi goreng. Sekarang ia punya toko donat, "punya cita-cita itu boleh kamu ga harus neko-neko. Tapi setidaknya kamu harus punya harapan lebih dari dirimu."

Bapaknya pernah bercita-cita nasi gorengnya jadi seperti restoran cepat saji yang paten waralabanya dimiliki orang banyak. Dijual dan mendapat banyak keuntungan dari nasi goreng. Onal, panggilan kecil Ronald Rodman dengan nama panjang yang diberikan bapaknya Ronald Rinaldi Rodman Ridwan mungkin hal yang menggelikan baik disebutkan pendek atau panjang. Itu bermakna sekali baginya. Bahwa nama bisa menjadi hal yang lebih menjanjikan meski sederhana.

Toko Donat Gila Donat cukup sederhana. Tapi sesuai dengan obsesinya. Bahwa ia bisa membuat hal yang berbeda, ia punya sesuatu yang bapaknya banggakan. Sebenarnya ia kepingin membuat warung nasi goreng dan membuatnya sebagai bagian yang juga serupa Gila Donat. Berwaralaba dan bisa lebih menyenangkan jika paten waralabanya banyak yang membeli.

"Mungkin nanti." Kata Yura. Gadis Nippon yang lama di Indonesia itu memberikan semangat. "Kita, kau maksudku. Bisa, tidak ada yang tidak bisa."

Yura suka Rodman. Tapi untuk bisa menganggap Rodman seorang pacar tidaklah mungkin. Yura sering ditolak Rodman jika diajak pacaran meski hanya sekadar sebuah candaan Yura.

Onad, panggilan Yura padanya. Kata orang-orang itu panggilan mesra Yura padanya. Rodman takpernah ambil pusing, ia lebih banyak diam di saat bersama perempuan muda itu. Akari Yura Tachibana perempuan mandiri yang pergi ke Indonesia untuk mencari calon suami. Pikirnya lelaki sama, tapi Yura sedikit ragu. Ia pernah tinggal di Rusia, Jerman, Inggris dan Amerika untuk niatnya itu. Semua lelaki sama, mereka melihat fisik terlebih utama. Sedangkan Yura dengan tinggi tubuh maksimal nyaris tiga meter itu ternyata jadi bikin minder lelaki.

"Pergi ke Arab sana Yura. Laki-laki di sana kaya raya." Sahut Rodman. Kalimat yang bukan terdengar serius. Tapi Rodman berharap Yura selalu bersamanya. Bukan sebagai pacar, Rodman selalu mengejek keinginan Yura. Tapi Yura yakin, ejekan itu semata-mata karena ia punya harapan yang jauh lebih dari angan-angannya.

Rodman juga masih dalam ragu memilih pasangan. Yura sudah bertekad Rodman orangnya. "Kamu jago masak, jadi itu alasan aku memilih."

"Tapi kita berjarak tau? Mau cium aku sepertinya harus naik kursi." Sahut Rodman. Yura tersenyum, "dan aku tidak mau kamu membungkuk. Harusnya aku membungkuk."

Yura berlutut di depan Rodman. Ia menutup mata di hadapan pria itu. Pria berkulit sawo matang yang selalu menampakkan wajah serius. Ia berbalik, menghindar dari gerakan Yura.

Ketika gerakan itu dibiarkan sia-sia. Yura sangat cepat bergerak mengejar. Dan mereka tiba-tiba saling berhadapan. Yura setengah membungkuk. Lengannya meraih pundak Onad. Jemarinya langsung kasar mencengkram leher pria yang tampak lebih kecil darinya dengan kain apron dan bandana orange khas dengan motif donat coklat di kepala.

Yura nekat mendekatkan kepalanya dan bibirnya ia lekatkan di mulut Onad. Dia berkata, "Aku tidak tahan."

"Nyebut! Istighfar kamu!" Teriak perlahan terdengar. Onad berusaha menjauh. Ia menoleh ke sekeliling.

"Aku tidak mau meninggalkanmu tau!" Sahut Yura manja dengan aksen khas perempuan Jepang yang bersikeras.

Tempatnya di atap toko. Tempat Onad beristirahat dari pekerjaannya. Yura selalu bisa menemukannya di sana jika di manapun ia cari pemuda itu tidak ia temukan.

Gedung lama yang dahulunya rumah seorang aktris terkenal. Disulap berkat investasi Yura di Indonesia. Yura di Jepang punya banyak kedai ramen. Demi cintanya pada Onad ia diam-diam berusaha mengajak Onad kerjasama. Onad pernah menolak, tapi Yura tidak pernah berhenti. Desakan perempuan itu berhasil ketika Onad yang berusaha putar otak putar penghasilan berbagai cara sampai tercetus ide Gila Donat menjadi sebuah bagian dari upayanya.

Ide membuat toko donat pada akhirnya yang berhasil. Yura Akari Kawamura sukses berinvestasi di toko donat Onad. Karena rasa cinta dan kegigihan.

"Kamu takpunya perasaan." Yura terlihat tersenyum, berusaha memainkan mimik mukanya yang masih tersinggung oleh sikap Onad. Dia tetap berusaha bertahan saking cintanya pada pria ini. Pikirnya ia tidak perlu menikahinya, selama bisa berada di sisinya sudah lebih dari cukup.

"Apa maksudnya? Tolong, perjelas aku kurang menangkap apa yang terjadi." Onad kebingungan. Yura menarik diri dan sorot matanya tajam. Tidak mau menciptakan suasana lebih pedih lagi dengan mengingat selama ini di antara mereka belum saling terbersit satu sama lain ungkapan yang tepat kalau ada rasa.

Pemuda itu kembali ke toko. Yura tidak bisa berkata-kata. Dadanya serasa berhenti berdegup. Permulaan yang buruk pikirnya.

Perempuan itu menunggu lama di rooftop toko yang biasa dimanfaatkan untuk istirahat beberapa pegawai toko. Seorang petugas kebersihan muncul, Yura mengira Onad akan kembali dan meminta maaf.

Yura pamit setelah ia juga turun ke lantai bawah saat itu juga dan menjelaskan beberapa hal yang mungkin bisa ia jelaskan sebagai usahanya menarik Onad supaya mengerti melalui kata-kata.

"Eh, Onad Bohlam ga lu apa-apain'kan investor kita?" Tanya Toni. Sahabat Onad sekaligus manajer toko. Toni melihat gelagat buruk. Ia takut saat melihat mata Yura berkaca-kaca saat meninggalkan toko. Pegawai lain tidak berkomentar saat kepergian perempuan Jepang itu dengan santun khas negeri Bunga Sakura itu dari cara membungkukan badannya.

Kiranya ini sebuah pertengkaran usang. Toni kerap merasakannya. Tentang kisah kebuntuan kedua orang itu. "Elu, kalo gua ga punya istri di rumah udah gua nikahin tuh Yura."

Toni terdiam, ia tidak bisa berkata-kata lagi selain melakukan apa yang menjadi pekerjaannya. Mempersiapkan agenda kegiatan toko selanjutnya.
