Following the events of AAI2, Sebastian goes a bit overboard with apologizing to Kay for being a little shit and all the stuff that he did to her... like arresting her and shit.

At Klavier's suggestion, he gets flowers for her. But isn't sure what kind to get. So. He panics.

Long story short, Kay ends up with enough flowers to fill her entire apartment.

Sebastian apologized for that, too and tries to explain it. But Kay cuts him off because not only did she find the whole situation funny, but really sweet.

Ema finds out. And Klavier finds out.

And neither of them ever let him live it down.

Promises Are Made to Be Kept

Summary: If it wasn’t for the fact that Kay was sitting in his window, it was 4 am and she looked wide awake and expectant of him, he’d probably have declined her offer. Then again, it was her, and there was something that just made him...agree to something so stupid, considering the time.

“That’s probably one of the stupidest yet sweetest things you’ve thought of. Of course I’m in Kay.”

Notes: I don’t really have much to say about this actually [laughs]. It’s another one of two oneshots for Rachel in anniversary of us meeting two years ago! It’s also kinda a sequel to To Steal a Thief’s Heart? More so it takes place about a month or two after it. Anyways hope you all enjoy and happy two years of us being friends Rachel!

“Hey Sebastian? You up?”

He’s awoken by the sound of his name being called. At first he thinks it’s just dream, but it sounds too real to be one.

Sitting up, he rubs the sleep out of his eyes to see one Kay Faraday sitting in his window. Her long hair is still pulled up into a ponytail, save for the key she usually wore being absent. Her attire is a long sleeve pink zip up hoodie, black tank top, grey sweatpants and simple tennis shoes. It’s not the first time he’s seen Kay dressed so casually, but the more pressing question on his mind is…

“Kay what are you doing here?! It’s…” he turns to the clock on his bedside table and his eyes widen when he sees the time, “4 am! What on Earth are you here for?!”

A small smile is what he gets from the girl, her eyes sparkling. “I couldn’t get to sleep, and then I thought about what you said a few days ago…” she trails off, looking at him expectedly.

A few days ago...They had been talking one night…

“What?!” There’s a sound of disbelief in her voice at what she had just been told. “You’ve never been out stargazing?!”

Sebastian looked away awkwardly. “Yeah...Pops well, never exactly believed there being any point, and I was busy when I was studying and then work got in the way…” He explained lamely.

Kay just frowns at him. “I still can’t believe it...but it does make sense considering all you’ve been through.” She looks up at the ceiling. “I used to do it all the time with my father and Uncle Badd. It was something special to us…” She reminisces, lost in thought.

Sebastian stares at her, an idea coming to mind. “If it’s really that important to you then, why don’t we go see them together?”

She turns to look at him, shocked. “R-really?!”

He smiles at her. “If it’s important to you, then it is to me-!”

He gets cut off at Kay throwing her arms around him. “Thank you Sebastian! It’s a promise!”

He simply smiles back at her and returns the hug. “Yeah, I promise…”

He nearly smacks himself. Of course he remembered. “That promise we made?” She nods.

“Yeah, and it’s really clear tonight. I noticed that as I trying to get to sleep.” She smiles at him. “What do you say we make that promise come true tonight?”

Kay smiled at him. “Great! I’ll meet you outside of the complex!”

“Ah, Kay wait-!”

She was gone. The young agent was already gone, presumably climbing back down the way she had come up.

At least it gives me privacy…

A few minutes later, changed into a black t-shirt under a long sleeve blue zip up hoodie, sweatpants and tennis shoes, he left his apartment and meet Kay outside of it. He waved over to her, and she waved back, walking over to him.

“Good you’re awake. I was afraid you’d go back to sleep ehehe…” Kay laughed, a hand behind her head.

“Like I’d do that to you after say I was in.” He smiled back at her. Kay grabbed his hand and the two took off in the direction of Gourd Lake.

“Here?” He asks. She nods at him.

“Yeah, it’s got a great view. Plus you can see the stars reflected in the water!” She laughed. Sebastian smiled at her as they walked until Kay stopped, let go of their hands and sat down. She patted the area beside her and he sat down. He looked up to see the darken sky glittering with stars. He gasped at the site of it.

“Pretty isn’t it?” He turned and nodded to her. She looked up as well. “The darkest night turns to dawn eventually, but until then we have this.”

He heard her sigh and turned to look at her, concern written across his face. “What’s wrong?”

“Just...thinking. About when I used to do this with my dad and Uncle Badd. Dad used to say that when someone dies, they become a star in the sky. I know it’s childish but, I still like to think that. It’s something he would’ve liked me to think.” A small chuckle escapes her lips. “Do you think it’s silly for me to believe in something like that?”

“No.” His answer is honest and gentle, not even hesitating to say it. “It’s just...part of what makes you...you. It’s a part of you that I like.”

She stares at him before smiling and taking his hand. “You’re right. If it’s important to me then, it’s just a part of me that you get to see. I truly do love you Sebastian.”

“And I love you too Kay.”

The two lean closer to each other, their lips meeting in a kiss, as much of a cliche as it might be, but it doesn’t matter to them. They part and Kay leans her head against Sebastian’s shoulder, the two looking up into the sky, enjoying the moment just for them.

After all, some promises you just have to go through with. Promises are made to be kept after all.

She’d made a promise, all those years ago. It didn’t matter how old she got. She was going to keep it, even if the situation had changed a good bit since she made it.

Sebastian is extremely confused when she asks him to meet her near Gourd Lake. She knows she’s pulling him away from his studies, but it won’t be for long. He’ll understand, once he realizes.

When he arrives, they make the short walk down the street to their destination. She can tell the exact moment when he noticed where they were headed by how his expression softens just a fraction.

Pushing open the gate, she walks right into the cemetery.

Summary: She’s usually the one stealing things, so how hard is it to steal her heart? Sebastian’s about to learn that’s harder than it sounds, though it’s worth it in the end.

Notes: Well...this fic has quite a history behind it. It started as a gift for a friend for the one year since we meet, but I couldn’t get it out then so then it turned into it was going to be her birthday gift, but I couldn’t finish it then. So now it’s turned into a Christmas gift that has nothing to do with Christmas [laughs]. Anyways, happy holidays everyone and I hope you enjoy this fic from 9 months ago that I finally got around to finishing Rachel!

Kay Faraday was an interesting girl to say the least.

Sure, she was the daughter of Prosecutor Bryce Faraday, but also the Great Thief Yatagarasu -when no other bird dares to take flight!- she'd say with that smile on her face.

Her smile, laugh, courage and stubborn nature; just a few of the many things he could think of why he loved her.

When they first met, he didn't know what to think of her. She was helping out Miles Edgeworth, who he was supposed to be replacing as prosecutor for those cases. But as time went on and then she got amnesia, he realized just who she really was and then she, alongside Miles had saved him when he was kidnapped by his father's men.

She hadn't want to abandon him when it had mattered, and that was enough for him to realize how much he cared about her.

Though would he ever be able to tell her how he felt?

"Why don't you just tell her how you feel about her?"

"P-Prosecutor Edgeworth!"

It has been eight years since they had last seen each other. Sebastian had left to earn his badge on his own after the truth about his father came out. He has since then earn his badge and Miles had arranged for a position at the Prosecutor's office. Last he heard Kay was with Interpol and had been helping Miles catch the international spy known as the Phantom. He had been caught and was awaiting trial.

Currently he was in Miles' office, as he didn't have a trial to take care of. The now Chief Prosecutor had been something of a mentor and a father-like figure since he'd learned the truth about his own.

"I know you have feelings for her, so why haven't you told her yet?" Miles asked, looking up from his paperwork.

Sebastian flushed slightly, looking off to the side. "I...don't know. I guess, I'm just afraid of her not returning my feelings."

Miles sighed. "You won't know until you ask."

"What?"

"If you don't tell her how you feel, you'll never know. Take it from someone that waited nearly a decade to finally admit their own feelings."

Sebastian looked at Miles, eyes widening in realization. "Prosecutor Edgeworth you..."

"A-Anyways Kay is coming back into town for a while. You should probably tell her how you feel then." Sebastian could notice the small flush that was forming on the Chief Prosecutor's face.

"Um...alright then. Though, are you okay with it? I mean, Kay has been like..."

"While Kay might be a little sister of sorts to me, I am perfectly fine with you wanting to be with her." Miles smiled lightly. "In fact, there's no one else I'd rather have be with her."

"Prosecutor Edgeworth..."

"Invite her over and tell her how you feel; that's all you need to do. Trust yourself and your feelings and the answers will come to you." Miles looked at Sebastian warmly. "It shouldn't be that hard to steal her heart."

Sebastian lightly laughed at that statement. "Yeah, it shouldn't be that hard hehe."

Apparently they'd both been wrong.

He'd been stalling for days to invite her over.

He'd at least seen her a few times since she arrived back in town; he was able to handle that. It was just trying to find a way to ask her that was making him nervous.

You can do this Sebastian, he told himself, it's not that hard, just ask her to come over tonight for dinner and then you'll find a way to confess to her.

He only hoped it would be that easy as he walked up to her apartment and knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" He held being called from the other side.

"It's me, Sebastian," he answered.

"Oh Sebastian! Um, can you give me a minute? I'm not decent right now..."

"N-no! It's fine Kay, I just need to ask you something!" I don't need that mental image Kay!

"What is it then?"

"Um..." Focus Sebastian!

"Do you maybe um...want to come over tonight for dinner?" There, he said it.

There was a slight pause before he heard Kay speak up again. "I'd love to Sebastian! Um, what time do you want me to come over?"

At least the hard part's over... "Seven work for you?"

"Yep! I'll see you then, right?"

"Yeah, you will. See you then Kay." He responded and left back towards his own apartment.

I did it, now to decide what to have for dinner...

He was nervous, there was no denying it. Though he knew Kay was probably just thinking of this as them have dinner together, it was much, much more than that.

I have to tell her tonight, I just can’t keep it in anymore...At least I managed to cook for us…

The doorbell rang, signalling Kay’s arrival. He took in a deep breath as he walked over to the door and rested his hand on the doorknob.

You can do this Sebastian, just don’t let your nerves get the best of you…

He opened the door, and standing there was Kay herself, a smile on her face.

“Sebastian! It’s been a while hasn’t it?”

“Yes, it has been. Would you like to come in?” he asked, stepping aside.

She nodded and the two walked further into Sebastian’s apartment. It wasn’t much, but it was more of home than his other home had been. At least he had been doing well living on his own, proving to himself he could be independent of his so-called father.

“So,” Kay had spoken up, breaking the silence that had fallen over them. “What are we having for dinner?”

“Spaghetti,” he answered simply. “I...made it myself.”

“You cooked for me?!”

“Yeah I did.” He turned to Kay. “You find that surprising?”

“Yeah...I mean, why for me? Even ordering takeout would have been fine, so why all this?”

“I…” Well, this is a good as time as any, better not put this off any longer.

“Kay.” She looked over at him at the mention of her name. “You’re important to me, more than you probably know. I really do care about you, and it’s partially due to you that I’m here.”

“Even though it was Mr. Edgeworth that revealed the truth about your father?”

He nodded. “He might have brought the truth to light, but you’ve been there for me when I needed it. What I feel for you is beyond friendship and has been for a while.”

“Sebastian...Are you saying what I think you are?”

“I am. I...love you Kay...And I really hope you feel the same way-!”

He definitely was not expecting Kay to wrap her arms around his neck, his arms slowly coming to wrap around her and his hands resting on her back.

“Oh Sebastian...You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to hear that from you...I love you too, and for a while.”

He smiled and pulled her closer, despite being the shorter of the two.

“I glad you feel the same way, Kay.” He broke the embrace and looked straight at her. “So why don’t we call this a first date if you’re okay with it?”

She stared at him, until she smiled at him, a faint blush on her cheeks.

“Yeah, I’d like that Sebastian…”

He smiled and turned to the kitchen, until he felt her pull at his wrist.

“Um, Sebastian if you don’t mind…” He turned to her. “Is it alright if I...kiss you?”

He could feel his face getting warmer, his eyes moving back and forth until they settled on Kay.

“Um...sure.” He leaned in and gently caught the thief’s lips, who responded in turn.

Maybe it wasn’t so hard to steal a thief’s heart after all...

GOSH you guys are too sweet!! We had a ton of fun wearing our costumes, and though my feet were aching from walking around for 11 hours in those boots (and Gavin's arm was stuck in Portal-gun-holding position), I had a huge smile on my face when I saw all these lovely replies. Thank you so much! <33
