"Oh good... We ...Made it..." The two had raced their way to the testing grounds as soon as Connar's cards had been gathered and tucked away safely back into her deck amd securely incased in her elegant carrier. A gift from her father as a congratulations for her entry at Duel Academy based upon her excellent test scores at Duel Prep School. There was that and a customized Duel Disk made just for her. It was a matching set with a sort of Magical dreamy blend of pastel colors to emphasize her Spell Caster Theme, inspired mostly by Dark Magician Girl, her favorite card, as well as an ace of her deck. A Pair of inquisitive brown eyes rested on her while she struggled to catch her breath. Particularly interested in the rather elegant design of these otherwise rather common objects for a Duelist-- He had a few questions for this girl... for starters he wondered if she heard the same female voice earlier that day... the one he had heard shortly before asking him if had said anything. Baby steps though... "Say....what did you say your name was?" he asked her curiosly, but just before she could open her glossed lips to respond-- "Connar~!!" A small blue haired boy had rushed in and cried into her arms. "Hey, Syrus...sorry I'm late." she chuckled softly as she held him. "Mmnh....YOU'RE DARN RIGHT YOU'RE LATE!" he snapped, "You completely missed my entry duel! I had such bad test anxiety and you weren't even here...I don't know how I won my match." "So you're in! Congrats man!" Jaden laughed and gave the boy a hardy pat on the back. There was a soft grunt from the simple force on him, but Syrus studied the other male, before giving a look back to Connar with arms folded. "I see how it is." He huffed, "I'm here having the duel of my life, and you're off on a date!?" "Wh-WHat!?" Connar blushed and instantly flailed her hands defensively, Syrus, I swear, I-it's nothing like that! W-We just met!" "She's right you know." Laughed the brunette holding out his hand to the other, "I mean, she hasn't even bought me coffee yet! Name's Jaden, by the way." "Uh-huh..." the bluenette sighed and accepted the offered hand anyway, "I'm Syrus, Syrus Truesdale." " Anyway, Jaden's right Syrus! You passed, that's what matters! Congratulations!" Connar grinned after sighing in relief from having been rescued from the small boy's wrath...this time. Syrus Truesdale was a childhood friend of Connar's. His older brother Zane, used to get paid to babysit her over summer breaks as her father recognized the boy had talent in dueling and thought it would be good for his daughter to spend time with duelists to help mold her own talent. He was a shy boy but had a good heart, even though sometimes he could get a bit full of himself... "Yeah good on ya!" Jaden beamed, "I'll be in too once I win my duel!" "Wait, you haven't dueled yet?" Syrus and Connar asked this together and looked at each other. "Nah." Jaden shrugged, "Connie, you were with me." "Yeah... but I assumed you were like me perhaps, and had your exam ahead." "...Wait what?" Jaden blinked. "Connar went to Duel Prep School for the past 3 years." said Syrus,"Their final exam consists of the entry duel ceramonies to get into the Academy ahead of time." he sighed,"You know, like Early Admittance? Man... I wish I could have already been enrolled to the Academy, like them..." Connar nodded. "The truth of the matter is...I only came to watch the entry ceremonial duels for the applicants of this year's student crop." she smiled. "...Well then I'm afraid you might have a problem." said Syrus. "What do you mean?" this time Connar and Jaden asked at the same time.

This characters been brewing in my mind for years as her previous version as super out of date. Despite her uniform, she is actually a duel monster who is searching for someone to help the monster world and takes a physical form to make things easier. Since she is not an actual student she tends to keep her distance from the human adults. Her true form is the Dream Seer, a strange card whose only notable trait is the fusion material needed to summon it.

I've been leading you all. Hibiki-Sensei isn't his name, i lied to you all. In fact, He's actually...

Some guy whose dub name rhymes with Shmaden Shmuki?!

Jaden was always meant to be am important supporting character, but the idea to make a sort of 'second identity' came later, and the reason why is, quite honestly, i think it would have been funny. It was supposed to be the only reference to Hibiki from the manga before going 'nah screw it' and brought alongside the Hibiki Siblings.

So, what's his deal? As stated before, he's Jun's mentor who met her during a trip to the city, nothing has changed. He's matured a bit, perhaps a bit more cynical with some venom in his bite thanks to more exposure to Yubel among other things, but still the same Slifer Slacker / Dropout Boy at heart. He's a bit more visually rugged due to offscreen adventures as seen before in his 'Hibiki" form, and that look is what he looks like for the majority of the story. His main role is trying to stop the Karman Acolytes and their plans, and also serve as a mentor role to the gang, mainly the Main Trio. He also seems to be hiding a lot of stuff from them, perhaps a certain secret or two that really shouldn't be kept to himself. Some habits die hard, huh S4 Jaden? He treats Jun and friends with bemusement, often helpign them out, but lately hes been looking at her with a weird solemn glare. It also feels like he's seen this sort of stuff happening around them before...

This look is Jaden at his best during the story, around the final arcs once he gets serious. Inspiration was trying to get his usual red colors but more darker and also a certain duel monster's influence on him. Hair is usually covering it as "Hibiki-sensei', but his left eye is permanently like that, for a mysterious reason. Huh, where IS yubel in this anyway?

While he continues to use E-Heros and Neo Spacians as always, he's included some new cards as well. Not to mention, he's included some certain Masked and Evil archetypes in his Extra Deck. Neos and Flame Wingman now has to share room with a new monster ace, the return of E-Hero The Earth/Terra Firma as well, the Planet "NEXT" card in this story.

Azure - my Yu-Gi-Oh! GX OC

Azure Cross is a talented duelist initially placed in the Obelisk Blue Dorm when he first enrolls at Duel Academy. While he is at first proud to be placed into Obelisk Blue, he soon realizes that many of it's students did not earn their way into it's ranks. As he observes talented duelists from the "Lower" Dorms, including Jaden Yuki, Azure abandons the Blue Dorm, deciding to judge others based on their skill rather than which color they wear, donning a Slifer Red Coat to mock the Academy's ranking system. When dueling, Azure uses a Monarch Deck.

Sometimes I forget that Azure was intended to be my main GX OC. Since Cain started as a side character and I began to give him more of a prominent role in my AU, Azure sort of took the opposite path. I once had plans for his own story arc, but that all shifted when Cain made his way into the "Main Character" position among my OC's. For now, he serves as a bit of a foil to Cain in that he is very serious and places a lot of importance on skill. He is never too proud to show a talented duelist the respect they deserve, and he believes that anyone can become a strong duelist if they work hard. His intimidating aura earns him few friends, but the few who get to truly know him see him as a fair and respectable ally. While Azure doesn't have much of an arc, he does have a distinct personality, which make him easy to place in many different situations and know how he will respond. Someday soon I hope to develop more of a role for him to play in my AU of GX. Thanks for reading and checking out my characters!

It was a lovely ceremony, one that stays forever in her memories...a moment where she truly made him proud.......Right? "Connar? Helloo? Connie?" There is of course, that familiar voice of comfort when she didn't. His smile... She still missed...him... "Connar if you don't get up now you're going to miss the ship!" Wait...that's not his voice-- Mokuba sighed as he gazed upon the sleeping beauty. He placed his hands on his hips as he shook his head from side to side and sighed. " Didn't you want to see the entry level duels of the applicants seeking enrollment into Duel Academy?" he asked her, reaching out to give his niece a gentle nudge. For Daddy's Little Princess?She could definitely sleep like a rock... He would find this funny under normal circumstance-- if it didn't make him worry whenever it came to her. She had been looking forward to this day for a long time. Day and night she trained herself, practicing with her deck only to improve her already natural talent. All she wants more than anything else is to make her father proud, and to truly earn her family name... "CONNAR ROSE!!" This was the name she held when they found her. Without wanting to take away from any of her original roots-- they simply tacked on their name afterwards so that she could have and keep both aspects of who she was then...and who she is now...even if who she was then seems to be a little bit faded now. "AHHH!" she shrieked from her startlement and fumbled out of her bed, entangled with her lovely princess bedding, pink and frilly that matched the color of her long flowing cherry blossom hair. Silk and frills...nothing but the best for daddy's little princess... And with her big bright blue eyes to pair with that long hair? She certainly looked like a princess too--sometimes...though she definitely didn't act like one. A sleeping beauty indeed. "Uncle Mokeeeyyyy" She groaned and puffed her cheeks with her sleepy eyes locked together fighting back the waking tears and eye crusts from being up late the previous night, "I was having such a good dream..." "Oh sweet Connie...lost in dream land? Someday we're afraid you might never return..." Her uncle chuckled and patted her head as he unraveled her blanket wrap. A look for unsettlement shimmered in her blue eyes as she thought back to the day where she almost didn't... but that was a whole other story that none of them really liked to get into...especially not her father. "That aside, you are aware of what day it is today...aren't you?" "Hmm? What are you talking about?" she yawned and tried to straighten out her long bed-head of pink hair. Her uncle sighed And brought notice to a marked day on the wall with a point of his index finger. "Check your calendar again..." She looked rather confused and lost in a daze as he stumbled over to her wall calendar and counted the days...

Your Yugioh Six Legends thing sounds cool af, mind giving some more info about the setting and general plot?

First off: Thank you so much for being my first ask! It means a lot.

Second: Thank you for asking. The only ones I've had to rant about this to were my family, who know nothing about Yu-Gi-Oh.

Onto the actual question.

The setting of Six Legends takes place in a world several centuries after an apocalyptic event referred to in story as The Awakening. No one knows exactly what happened or how, but the results were that duel spirits suddenly became a lot more easily noticed by people, and humans have dropped from billions to only a couple dozen million.

Most cities are abandoned and overgrown, while spirits explore and humans try to survive.

The spirits are seen as forces of nature or wild animals; they have a similar role as the Fae in our folklore, having their own rules and powers over any human that breaks them. Many are bound to their cards but can still affect their immediate environment. This has created a phenomenon known as Duel Domains. Similar to a Fairy Ring, one should never enter these carelessly, though, many brave souls try to enter these domains in hopes of claiming the card creating them, either by force or negotiation. Few ever succeded.

Duelists were the majority of humans to survive since they could more easily align with duel spirits and thrive. Even those who can't speak with the spirits, like Asahi, have loyal spirits on their side since battling in duels is their nature. Some of these duelists travel in nomadic tribes, but most create permanent strongholds and settlements. Regardless, neither group has ever reached more than a few hundred humans. Except for one.

These groups are so few and far between that there is little to no contact between groups. Hence the Settlement is just the Settlement; there's no one else for miles. Occasionally there is a lone vagabond or nomadic tribe, but those can be months or years apart.

There is one thing that unites all these disparate groups together. That being the Legends of the Six Duel Kings.

These legends are essentially just the show from Duel Monsters and up to Vrains that have gone through several dozen generations of mythologization, with the protags reenvisioned as heroes and kings. Most people know all six but personally focus on one or two kings as personal guides and patrons.

A few groups have taken their devotion to cultish levels.

That's the setting and here's what I've got for the plot without being too spoiler-y.

Yukyoki is the main protag and the story will focus on xyr relationship with xyr Manic Melody deck. The group is inseparable, not hard to understand as Yukyoki has had the deck for xyr whole life, even before the Settlement. But there is a rather sinister reason why that deck is one-of-a-kind. And why Yukyoki was so badly injured when the Settlement found xem.

The plot will have xem and xyr friends going on expeditions to find the remaining Manic Melody Extra Deck monsters, which are incredibly well hidden, dueling gangs and cultists along the way. These locations are significant to the previous protags in some way.

Yukyoki's friends also go on hunts of their own to add to their decks and maybe find more truths about the Six Duel Kings and gain allies among the Badland beyond the Settlement.

Throughout all of this, it becomes increasingly clear that something is hunting down the Manic Melodies and anyone even vaguely connected to them. And they don't seem to realize that Yukyoki didn't die from xyr injuries the first time around.
