Francofolies Spa - MIKA

The Simpsons. 7.6/10
I wouldn't recommend any season to my friends. I would rewatch all these seasons.
Season 1
Ugh The Simpsons are so educational. Brings up so many topics.
I can’t with Smithers’s changing skin tones and Carl’s voice.
I love how this whole season, the family learned to better themselves in some way. I like how Marge and Homer’s relationship stays strong through love despite so many problems. The first episode (Christmas ep) really started it off with a bang. I respect Bart the entire ep of General Bart. Bleeding Gums Murphy is a great character. I like when Bart is in France and rides through art pieces.
Honestly, why is Homer so angry? Wow, how upsetting when the bully steps on Lisa’s cupcakes.
Season 2
What is Karl the secretary’s backstory? What a great guy.
Bart’s so cute as a raven.
I love all the references in this show. e.g. Lou Gehrig’s speech, Vertigo. I love all the karaoke at The Happy Sumo. I like that Bart confides in Otto. I love Carl. Lisa is such a good sister to Bart. I like the post office mural. omg what Flanders has a phd in mixology? cool.
lmao at Lisa’s ergonomic chair in her room. lmao at Bart’s collection of newspaper clippings about himself. Lmao at the whisper of msg. lmaooo at Santa’s little helper passing dog school and the teacher was like you son of a bitch. Lmaoo at Lisa mentioning the children’s rights movement.
The beer bucket at the baseball game is so large??
Season 3
Such good quips this season. LMao at Marge’s reasoning to Mrs. Van Houten for why Bart and Millhouse should stay friends. Lmao at grandpa complaining about having sat down for the video game. The aptitude test being called CAN’T is funny. Wait, lmao at Maggie kissing each Lurleen CD. lmao at Spinal Tap being a real band. Omg the Smithers sperm cells were funny.
I enjoy Marge’s grumbling sound. I enjoyed all of pseudo Michael Jackson’s song. These essay contest submissions are pretty good. I think it’s lovely that Scratchy jumped down the well for Itchy. Willie so committed to saving anyone in the well is beautiful. The yoyo episode gets me because I remember that era of my youth. I liked Homer at the bat. I like the vet. Otto is lovey. Homer and Marge buying Bart a guitar for his aspirations is lovely.
Omg at the kids getting their own hotel room at the free Washington trip episode. Omg at Ralph having Nelson’s voice. Omg the Lincoln squirrel dead?
Why do we only see the Kwik E Mart ever being robbed?
Season 4
Hello, shirtless Ned.
Lisa with Marge’s hairstyle is so funny. Lol at Skinner’s mom being related to Psycho.
I love Bart’s crush on Laura. One of my fav episodes.
Wow, Barney being Plow King is treacherous. The betrayal. But, also omfg at him studying for the SATs. Omg at Scratchy trying to saw off his tongue.
Let’s have Bart and Lisa become musicians.
Season 5
The pandas are cute. Marge’s comment about potatoes being neat is so iconic. I really like it. I love Bart’s class loving Santa’s Little Helper.
LOL at Nelson petting Santa’s Little Helper. LOL at Doris’s okie dokie at greasing up Willie. “ Lmao at Miss Hoover saying I didn’t know we could do that about breaking the law as a teacher.
Someone tell me more about Mr. Burns’s little brother. Someone tell me more about Hans. I want to know more about Skinner in the army. Tell me more about Ned’s parents.
I’m disturbed by Millhouse rubbing ketchup on himself.
Season 6
Lmao at chlorine making Millhouse’s hair white. Lol at Lisa’s hair blowing up the volleyball. Show me what her hair looks like in real life. LOL at the lesbians referring to Homer as a her. This season is interesting but does feel like let’s get random. Wait, lmaoo at Otto having to siphon gas. LOL at the Shelbyville kids with their temporary tattoos. And the line about hey, look somebody’s attractive cousin.
I enjoy Bart’s decision to strut. A pop rocks and soda molotov is good stuff.
When Homer asks why grad students can go to the moon but not make his shoes smell good, it is literally the thing I think about. Let’s work on improving what we have.
Santa’s Little Helper’s family episode is soooo cute.
Season 7
Wow, I want in on the Kwik-e-mart rooftop cinema watching. I like Lisa making her summer friends. Very cute.
The humor is better in this season again. Lol at the Harvard diploma claw machine. The children's uniforms are cute. Same with the Pin Pals uniforms. Lmao at Calcutta tech.
Someone stop the Simpsons from owning their bathroom mat.
Season 8
Lmao at spraying homer with rum so that no one will believe him. LOL at the telegraph connecting to the museum. Lmao at the free sample of gasoline.
Someone tell me more about Kearney.
I like this Lisa and Nelson duo.
Season 9
Lmao at a coin-operated bible. Lmat at Marge doing so poorly on a quiz show. lmao Polly pls.
Dr. Hibbert is lovely. I like how Bart is protective over Lisa.
Omg, the wrecking of the National History Museum is crazy. $15,000 in Christmas donations is crazzyyyy.
Lisa hitting her peak at 8 is relatable.
Honestly, what Homer did with trash in Springfield is terrible.
Season 10
Ew a grease fight is not alright. Oh god, the rat school milk is just like KND’s eye crust.
lmaoo at Nelson impersonating Dr. Hibbert. lmao at being in the garden of eden and people magazine just had the two. Lmao at Jonah. Lol at the cricket poison.
Aw at Apu’s whimpering at the megastore.
Memorable Quotes: “If TV has taught me anything, it’s that miracles always happen to poor kids at Christmas.” “You have been oppressed enough for today. I will clear the dishes.” “Comedy, thy name is Krusty.” “The opportunity to prove yourself a hero is long gone.” “Why is there makeout music on?” “Prayer, the last refuge of a scoundrel.” “A part of this D- belongs to God.” “Get bent.” “Thanks, man.” “Maybe there’s something else to do on this planet.” “‘Is your father stealing bread?’ 'Maybe, I don’t watch him every minute.’” “While I know firsthand how fragile young talent is, I’d love to hear the particulars of how your gift was squashed.” “Don’t learn anything I wouldn’t learn.” “You scavenger of human misery.” “‘Thanks for sticking up for me.’ 'What makes you think I did?’ 'Who else would?’” "Oh, bitch bitch bitch." "My parents won't mind because they won't even know about it." “Are you man enough to test every one of your limits?” “Due to popular demand, we will forgo our national anthem.” “You know, if you lived here, you’d be home by now.”

Yoyo! Happy Holidays Mel! Christmas Day is in two days but i figured i'd leave you some early Christmas present, so behold: Some more music recs from yours truly :DD
1. Jingle Bells by Michael Buble (figured i should throw in at least one Christmas song)
2. One Beer by MF DOOM
3. Mississipi Queen by Mountain
4. B. O. B (Bombs Over Baghdad) by Outkast
I'd love to hear your thoughts on these songs and hopefully you'll enjoy them as much as i do (can't guarantee it, but yk, a man can dream :p)
Merry (early) Christmas and Happy Holidays Mel! :D
Happy holidays to you as well! Now, let’s take a look here.
1. Ah, this one. I’m well and truly familiar with Buble’s Christmas discography (it’s kinda hard not to be). I will say I am a fan of his stuff, but man I wish he did more of the James Bond style songs. He can do it why is it all pop- I digress.
2. Interesting, though not my style.
3. Oh shit I remember this song from Regular Show. Good riff, kicking song.
4. I’ll be honest I’m not sure what’s going on here, it’s a bit of a cacophony.

Trevor Philips Headcanons: Part ???
-Grows a seasonal beard (mainly during winter).
-Yoyo master
-Sleep talks
-Is ‘that’ type of drunk who will runaway (having to be chased).
-Forgetful but will remember what you ate at 6:00 pm on a random Thursday 5 years ago.
-Judges People’s fast food orders outwardly. Once saw a lady ask for a fish fillet and took it offensively. (He was kicked out).
-Overhears gossip in public and will object his personal opinion, forcing himself into the conversation.
-One time in North Yankton he ordered hot wings accidentally (the hottest ones) and ate two whole ones before throwing up and crying. Michael remembers clearly and will bring it up every so often.
-Cries to himself when he stubs his toe.
-Once papercut Michael’s eye back in North Yankton (who knows how it happens).
-Tracey calls few times a month to gossip about her friends and boyfriends. Trevor is surprisingly good at giving advice.
-Can’t remember having any of his tattoos done.
-No matter how fit he looks, Trevor can’t run for 5 minutes straight without getting tired.

"TVparty!" by Billy Ingram (1998)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's a(n unflattering) description of the show (plus ABC's other android cop show, "Future Cop") from a 1998 book called "TVparty!" by Billy Ingram. I should also add that the author is mistaken about Alex and Yoyo being New York City detectives. The show takes place in California. Here's my previous post about it:
Article Transcript:
Nineteen seventy-six was a very good year for the big three networks. Prime-time commercials were selling at prices 50 percent higher than the year before and were sold out well into 1977. "This season we could sell a test pattern" was the way one network executive put it. And sell test patterns they did.
One of the misguided series foisted on unsuspecting viewers in 1976 was Holmes and YoYo. "To an eight-year-old kid it was cool stuff," one former viewer observed. "It was about a guy with a computer in his chest." Holmes and YoYo (Saturday nights from eight to eight-thirty) followed the misadventures of two New York City police detectives. Unknown to almost everyone, one of the partners happens to be a super-sophisticated robot.
Never was there a more miscast robot in television history. John Shuck (McMillan and Wife) played Gregory "YoYo" Yoyonovich, 427 pounds of police department relay circuits and body armor. He looked more like 220 pounds of doughnut-eating actor. Richard B. Schull [sic] played his partner on the force, Detective Alexander Holmes, Bruce Kirby played Capt. Harry Sedford, and Andrea Howard was Officer Maxine Moon, the girl who swoons after YoYo, never suspecting his secret.
YoYo has the power to eat anything, he possesses a built-in trash compactor that can absorb the shock of a bomb, a photographic memory, an independent power source, and he can print out full-color proofs. Just what you might look for in an assistant today, but YoYo is constantly malfunctioning. A bullet causes him to break out dancing, magnets fly out at him, he picks up radio signals from Sweden, and when his circuits blow he repeats, "Bunco Squad, Bunco Squad, Bunco Squad" over and over.
Holmes and YoYo was conceived as a comedy version of the highly successful 'Six Million Dollar Man/Woman/Boy/Dog' franchise that ABC was exploiting at the time. If the show reminded one of Get Smart, it's because they shared the same producers. Leonard Stern was executive producer and Arne Sultan producer.
Most of the jokes on Holmes and YoYo were Get Smart throwaways: "Whyn'tcha try a bite of my blue plate?" Holmes asks YoYo . YoYo eats the plate. Punch the laugh track machine all the way to ten.
To contrast the stupid jokes and add an air of danger, the crimes were treated more realistically than usual for a sitcom. The real danger proved to be on the other channels—Holmes and YoYo lasted only three months opposite The Jeffersons and Emergency, two gigantic hits in '76.
ABC had high hopes for another 'robot that looked like a man' series—a drama called Futurecop [sic].
The pilot was shown as a special two-hour movie on March 25, 1977, starring John Amos and Ernest Borgnine as two big-city cops who team up with a mechanical partner (Michael Shannon).
The producers of that program were sued for plagiarism by noted science-fiction author Harlan Ellison. Ellison contended that the Futurecop screenplay was stolen from one of his teleplays, Brillo.
Brillo, which was written for ABC, was shown to an NBC executive. That guy then went over to Paramount and put together the Futurecop project and sold it back to the same guys at ABC who rejected Brillo. Ellison prevailed in court.

Title: "Fearful Wednesday" - An Episode of The Office
INT. DUNDER MIFFLIN SCRANTON OFFICE - MORNING
The office is abuzz with the usual chaos, but today something's different. Angela is visibly jumpy, her eyes darting around nervously as she types at her desk.
ANGELA: (whispering to herself) Something doesn't feel right today.
INT. SECRETARY'S DESK
Coco, the quirky intern, has left a bizarre message on the secretary's desk. It's a cryptic doodle of a cat wearing sunglasses and a top hat.
SECRETARY: (confused) What in the world is Coco trying to tell us with this cat drawing?
INT. JIM AND PAM'S DESK
Jim looks over at Pam with a knowing grin.
JIM: You know, Pam, I've got a secret to tell you.
PAM: (intrigued) What is it?
Jim leans in, and just as he's about to speak, Borax, the eccentric IT guy, abruptly leaves the office without notice, carrying a stack of computer cables.
JIM: (frustrated) What’s the deal with IT guys?
INT. DUNDER MIFFLIN WAREHOUSE
Creed is teaching Angela and Kevin how to box with an intensity that only Creed can muster.
CREED: (with a sinister grin) Remember, guys, the first rule of boxing is...there are no rules.
INT. OSCAR'S DESK
Oscar, ever the dreamer, is engrossed in a book about fairies and magical gardens, oblivious to the mayhem around him.
INT. MICHAEL'S OFFICE
Michael calls an emergency meeting, and the office staff gathers anxiously.
MICHAEL: (panicking) Okay, everybody, gather 'round! This is not a drill. Something strange is happening today, and we need to figure out what it is.
INT. COMMON AREA
Simon, the office's resident goofball, is playing with a yoyo, seemingly unfazed by the chaos around him.
INT. KITCHEN
As they discuss the strange occurrences, someone suddenly remembers the forgotten office game - the Rolo Bolo.
STANLEY: (excited) Hey, guys, we forgot about the Rolo Bolo! Let's play!
The office staff gathers around the Rolo Bolo setup, balancing on the teetering board.
INT. CORNER OF THE OFFICE
A mysterious man in a small suit sits silently in a corner, his presence unnoticed by the rest of the office.
PAM: (spooked) Jim, have you seen that guy in the corner? Who is he?
Jim, with a calm smile, reassures Pam.
JIM: Don't worry, Pam. I'll check it out.
INT. JIM'S DESK
Jim returns to his desk, and a memory strikes him.
JIM: (excited) I remember something! Pam, have you ever heard of fairy gardening?
INT. DWIGHT'S DESK
Dwight, always prepared for the unexpected, shines with enthusiasm.
DWIGHT: (eager) Fairy gardening, you say? I've got just the plan!
INT. DUNDER MIFFLIN SCRANTON OFFICE - AFTERNOON
The bell rings, and the children are leaving the school, including the mysterious man in the small suit.
MICHAEL: (as everyone leaves) Don't forget to wash your hands, everyone! We'll solve the mysteries of Fearful Wednesday tomorrow.
The office is left in a state of puzzlement and curiosity, setting the stage for more unexpected adventures in the days to come.

🎃HALLOWEEN LIST 2023🎃
I re-watched Friday The 13th Part 3 (1982)
Since I started this list with the original Halloween and the creation of Michael Myers, I figured I'd watch the film that made Jason Vorhees the killer we all know today. That film is the third film in the Friday the 13th series.
Jason Vorhees, King of mommy issues, returns to kill a bunch of unsuspecting people at a lake house.
If you don't know already, the original Friday the 13th movie barely features Jason. He's not the killer. In the second film, Jason is the killer, but dons a simple bag over his head. It wasn't until this film, originally released in 3D by the way, that Jason put on his trademark hockey mask and became a truly iconic horror character.
The Friday the 13th series is the mother of all 1980's slashers. Yes, Halloween and others came before it, but Friday the 13th really developed the tropes and cliches that would run through the genre. The gore, the pointless stories, the heightened poorly acted characters, pure summer camp/wilderness horror.
Now that's not to say it's a necessarily good series. They're cheap movies with nothing else in mind than gore and sex. They can certainly be fun, but if you've seen one you've kind of seen them all. Personally, I'm more of a big fan of the concept and character than the movies themselves.
Part 3 is nothing more than a pointless sequel, meant to cash in on the 3D craze of the 1980's and the success of the first two Friday the 13th movies. The characters are terrible, the story is non-existent, the whole thing is an endless spew of nothingness. At one point a character just drops a yoyo at the camera, simply to show off the 3D effect. It's 30 seconds of dead space, especially when viewed in 2D.
But, maybe it's nostalgia, or just the absolute simplicity of not having to pay too close attention, but I did have a fine time watching this. I laughed more than I thought I would and honestly SOME of the shots weren't bad, despite the need to film for 3D. (others, not so much.) It's an okay "So bad it's good" movie and this series has worse movies in it.
The lead Girls Oak Tree story is an absolute highlight of bad writing. I loved it, in all it's awfulness.

Lily Amis has recently released a new studio work: "YoYo & Chess" (Featuring Thir13een)
Lily Amis is an indie writer and lyricist who is always on the look out for new creative avenues when it comes to making music that embraces a diverse range of styles, collaborating with other artists to bring her music to life. Her most recent work, "YoYo & Chess", stands out as a perfect example.
Tumblr media
This remarkable piece of music blurs the lines between hip-hop and electronic pop, while also portraying Lily’s personality as a writer to absolute perfection, as well as her ability to unlock the full potential of the artists she collaborates with. This track happens to be the fifth release alongside featured artist Thir13een, who happens to be a perfect match with Lily’s songwriting style and attitude. Inspired by legendary songwriters as diverse as Pink, Michael Jackson and John Lennon, Lily writes from her heart. She is not afraid to use her real voice and let her emotions connect with a truly broad audience!
This release by Lily is highly recommended to fans of artists such as Future, Drake, Boyz II Men, and Bruno Mars. Much like these aforementioned talents have carved their way into the music scene, Lily is quickly garnering new fans due to her amazing songwriting. She is also helping other artists develop a strong focus on building a devoted following, one release at a time! In addition to the amazing quality of the songwriting itself, the production is really great. The beat is crisp and punchy, and the overall sound is quite immersive and easy to relate to. The vocals are very well-recorded as well. The singing is never overpowered by the instrumental, and there is always room for some truly incredible dynamics to make the song really pop!
Find out more about Lily Amis, and listen to "YoYo & Chess". This release is currently available on some of the best digital streaming services, where it is possible to stream in its entirety.
