hello! season ten of hermitcraft just started the other day so now im going to infodump in your inbox again! :D
so. hermitcraft. The Big One. hermitcraft is a vanilla+ minecraft server (mostly vanilla gameplay with some cosmetic and QOL mods), with 27 players as of right now, and it is the oldest active multiplayer minecraft server on youtube!
each season of the hermitcraft server lasts about a year (give or take) (season 8 was only 6 months!), and the seasons are independent of one another. instead of acting as a continued narrative, each season is instead essentially just a reset, as the hermits move onto new worlds and new ideas!
im not really sure what else to say here? at this point, my rambling can devolve a couple different ways, so i'm going to make this a choose-your-own-adventure type rant. i could talk about:
the hermits themselves and their accomplishments/who they are
my own favorite season of hermitcraft (it's season 8 btw)
or just go insane about their building skills because they really are just. incredible. these guys have been playing minecraft for a long time and it shows.
(some of my favorite bases below)
(in order: TangoTek's Deep Frost Citadel (S9), Grian's Mansion (S7), PearlescentMoon's Alien Landscape (S9), and Bdubs' Moon Starter Base (S8))
i was waiting for the hermitcraft 101 🥰

6 Week Challenge Catch Up Post
It's been a chaotic weekend 💀 but so much fun
Week 5 Day 6 7/12/24
Today I:
Woke up very late in a bad mood
Watched YouTube for hours
Found out most of my exam times but not for the one I really need to know
Only ate lunch at 2pm
One of my flatmates came into the kitchen and we commiserated over how our days were going
Placed a grocery order online for Christmas dinner ingredients
Cleaned the kitchen and living room with my flatmate
Chatted with my flatmate's friend who's staying the weekend
Made potato and onion soup for Christmas dinner
Ate leftover pasta for dinner
Went round to a friend's house and hung out until 2am 💀
Came home and yapped with my flatmates until 4am 😭
Daily joys:
Human connection really is special isn't it :) my day started so awfully and was gradually filled with giggles and swapping stories
Goals progress:
I was a bit nervous about hanging out w my friend cus it's the first extended hangout we've done, but I had so much fun!!
Week 5 Day 7 8/12/24
Today I:
Woke up much later than intended
Rushed to the bus stop to meet my bestie from home
Spent a little while catching up in Tom Horton's
Made wheaten bread
Helped my housemates cook and serve a Christmas dinner for 8 people (my soul starter and all the desserts not pictured)
Had a few drinks and did silly drunk karaoke w my friends (there are some absolutely DIABOLICAL pictures that my friends took of me 😭)
Daily joys:
It was an odyssey getting all the cooking done, but WE DID IT
Week 6 Day 1 9/12/24
The final week of the challenge, and of uni for my first semester!! I ate a lot of wheaten bread for dinner 😅
Today I:
Dragged myself to uni for my 11am class despite being very sleep deprived and a wee bit hungover
Hung out with my bestie in my students' union
Bought a meal deal for lunch
Vibed some more
Brought my bestie to the train station 😔 we'll see each other at home next week though!!
Went to another class
Walked home w my housemate
Daily joys:
Watched the new dan and phil video
Did some research on French universities
Wheaten bread my beloved <333
Had a bit of sleep deprived angst today but my playlist got me through it
Goals progress:
Did a few more grammar activities for French, only 3 left until I'm done with them for the semester!!
I got my final assignment mark back for Analysing Grammar and I did really well on it, so my total coursework mark is just under 24%/30%!! That takes off a bit of pressure from my exam in January :)

Sept. 2023 Apple iPhone Event
This year we are expecting the biggest change of all to be the transition from the Lightning port to USB-C ports on all iPhones and some iPhone accessories. The Pro models will see thinner bezels, a titanium frame, and the replacement of the mute switch for a new action button.
Let’s get started!!
Starters
Starting off with a typical video showcasing how Apple’s hardware improves lives, health and people’s connection to each other
Showing actual stories of people who’s lives have been saved by Apple Watch and iPhone features
Bets they show the people saved by the satellite feature during the Maui fires?
And right over to Tim Cook who confirms this event will revolve around iPhone and Apple Watch
Oh but first we’re starting with…
The Mac?
Recapping the introduction of 15" MacBook Air and Mac Pro earlier this year
macOS Sonoma launching on 9/26
Oh also mentioning the Vision Pro which still doesn’t have a launch date other than early next year
And that’s it I guess for Mac? Random.
Apple Watch
OH ITS pink
Oh HAND GESTURES TO CONTROL IT
SERIES 9
New S9 chip with faster CPU and GPU (this is the first actual big chip upgrade for the Watch since the Series 6)
Still sticking to 18 hours of battery life
Siri now processes requests on the Watch instead of relying on the Phone
Siri can also reference your health data for you on the Watch. Think “Siri, how long did I sleep last night?”
(Also reminder that Apple is removing the “hey” in “hey, siri”)
Watch can now more precisely tell you where your iPhone is using a new ultra wide band chip
Media suggestions pop up on the Watch when you approach a Homepod
Display is 2x as bright as the Series 8 and can get even darker for when you’re in environments like a theater
Double Tap
Series 9 can now recognize hand gestures to control the watch
Double-Tap controls the main button in apps. You can double tap your fingers together to answer or end a call. Scroll through widgets. Snooze an alarm.
It sounds like a small feature but actually expands the amount of time you can use the watch exponentially
Double-tap available next month
Series 9 Aluminum available in Pink, Starlight, Midnight, Silver and Product Red
Stainless Steel available in Gold, Silver, and Grahite
Starts at $399 for Aluminum model
Pre-Order starts Today, Available on 9/22
Environmentality
Environmental goals updatge. Starting with a cute video of Mother nature, played by the wonderful Octavia Spencer, visiting Apple Park and everyone (including Tim Cook) being very nervous.
Apple states they’re eliminating all plastic in their packaging by the end of next year.
No more leather in iPhone cases
Operating on 100% clean electricity in offices, data centers and stores
Y’all should watch this video once its uploaded just because the acting by Octavia is hilarious (2030 Status | Mother Nature | Apple - YouTube)
Net zero climate impact from Apple by 2030
Tim Cook and Octavia Spencer staring each other down for 30 seconds was not on my bingo card for today
Sport Loop is now 80% recycled materials
Apple will match 100% expected energy use of Series 9 with investments in clean energy projects
Series 9 packaging is 100& fiber based and smaller packaging so they can ship more with less effort
Claiming the Series 9 is apple’s first “carbon neutral” product
Apple no longer using leather in ANY of their products, starting today
New material called FineWoven that feels “suede-like”
Even Hermes is launching new environmentally friendly bands
Apple Watch Ultra 2
Also getting Double Tap feature
Display now goes up to 3000 nits, 1000 more than the Series 9
Very minor improvements across the board for this one
I think they mainly just needed to add the new chip and call it a day
Ultra 2 is 95% recycled titanium
Ultra 2 starts at $799
Pre-Orders available today; Available 9/22
All new models are carbon neutral depending on what band you get
iPhone 15
Dynamic Island makes its debut on the base model
6.1 and 6.7” OLED displays
Display can go up to 1600 nits of brightness for HDR Photos and videos, or 2000 nits in direct sunlight
Available in pink, yellow, green, blue and black
Now has c urved aluminm edges instead of the sharp edges of the 13 & 14 models
Has “ceramic shield” which is tougher than any smartphone glass so its built to last longer
100% recycled cobalt in the battery
They haven’t shown the bottom yet… it’d be hilarious if they just don’t tell people about the change in charging port
iPhone 15 Camera
New camera is 48mp. This was previously limited to the pro models last year.
Depending on the mode, it will be adjusted to 24mp
Pixels also allow for a 2x telephoto optical zoom option with 12mp resolution
Portrait mode getting improved colors and better performance in low light
If the camera detects a person or animal, it’ll automatically capture the data for a portrait photo without you switching modes. You can choose to make the photo portrait later on.
You can also switch the portrait photos subject after the photo is taken
Improved Night Mode & Smart HDR as well
iPhone 15 is getting the A16 chip, the chip used in last year’s iPhone 14 Pro; but with only 2 cores instead of last year’s 4 for the Pro
Battery size increased from last year but no specifics
OH TIME TO TALK ABOUT “CONNECTIVITY”
2nd Gen Ultra Wideband chip so it can connect to other devices that are farther away and make it easier to find your friends in crowded places
Better noise cancellation on phone calls so your voice stands out
Emergency SOS Satellite now available in 16 countries
Now adding Roadside Assistance via Satellite, partnering with AAA; free for AAA members
TIME TO TALK CABLES hehehehehe
Confirmed: iPhone 15 has USB-C
Earpods and AirPods Pro 2 also updated with USB-C
Confirming FineWoven iPhone and AirTag cases going on sale now to replace Leather accessories
iPhone 15 starts at $799; 15 Plus starts at $899
Pre-Orders start Friday 9/15; Available on 9/22
iPhone 15 Pro
iPhone 15 Pro now made out of titanium and Action button also confirmed
Lol “the most pro iphone we’ve ever created”
Titanium means these are the lightest pro models ever
New countoured edges and thinnest borders of an iPhone
Dimensions of phone smaller with the same display sizes as the 14 Pro models
“Toughest glass based materials in the industry”
Available in white, black, blue and “natural”
New architecture inside makes the device more repairable
Action Button
Still ring/silent switch by default but you can reprogram it to do things like open the camera, turn on the flashlight, start voice memos, etc.
A17 Pro Chip
The first 3nm chip in the industry
First iphone with USB-C speeds of 10gbps
They can do ray tracing on a phone now…
Kinda crazy to me how they always talk about how good gaming is on a battery driven iphone chip and they’ve made absolutely zero push to make gaming a bigger feature of the Apple TV
iPhone 15 Pro Camera
Camera time babbbyyyyy
Bigger 48 MP sensor to enable better low light performance
“equivalent of 7 camera lenses in your pocket”
Reduced lens flare (finally)
You can now choose a default lens size, including 24 mm, 28 mm and 35 mm focal lengths
2x better low light performance
Nightmode and Smart HDR seeing big improvements
15 Pro Max now gets 5x optical zoom; regular 15 Pro still at 3x optical zoom
Periscope lens utilized for the first time in Pro Plus to achieve that better zoom
USB-C allows faster transfer speeds and the ability to shoot video directly to an external device
The 15 Pro can record spatial video that you can then view only on your Apple Vision Pro… lol
New 6TB and 12TB iCloud plans announced to store more high quality photos and videos (at $29.99 and $59.99 per month, respectively)
iPhone 15 Pro starts at $999 for 128gb
iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at $1199 for 256gb
Pre-Orders start on Friday; Available on 9/22
Takeaways
That's a wrap on this event and rumors are saying it was Apple's last one of the year! If they do have anything else in store (there's a possible iPad Air refresh in the works or more devices with USB-C) it'll most likely just be done via press release.
For those following the rumor mill, there wasn't much surprising in this event except for maybe some of the camera specs. But if you're reading this you probably heard it all for the first time.
So now the question is, is upgrading worth it?
If you have any of last year's phones or watches my answer is short and sweet: No.
If you have older devices, the answer gets murkier. The iPhone 13 line from 2021 still holds up well against this lineup, but chances are you're noticing your battery doesn't hold up as long as it used to. The watch upgrades this year could be significant too depending on how old your model is.
Also chances are, there are no features on the Pro models of the iPhone or the Watch Ultra that you need. If you want to save money, chances are you won't notice much of a difference other than slightly better battery and display. A normal iPhone 15 model will last you a few years if you take care of it
Personally, I will not follow my own advice and will be upgrading my phone. I do it every year so please don't think this is anything special. I'll be getting the iPhone Pro Max in Blue with the base 256gb storage.
The watch is less of a sure fire thing. I think people tend to believe that I upgrade all of my Apple products often but the reality is I only splurge on a phone upgrade every year. My Watch is a Series 5 from 2019, my iPad is a 2018 iPad Pro and my laptop is a 2012 15" Retina Macbook Pro.
Four year seems like a decent amount of time between upgrades though and my watch's battery doesn't last as long as it used to so we'll see. If I do upgrade, it'll be the smaller silver stainless steel model.
OK. I think that's all. Let me know what questions or comments you have. Interested to see everyone's thoughts this year!!
You can view the whole keynote from today below or a quick video recap from Apple as well.

In the spirit of just playing around,
I got another musical instrument
in the mail yesterday. Saw a YouTube
video about it, and could not resist
ordering one. It is a cross between
an ocarina and a Native American
Style flute…basically a block of
cedar, hollowed out, with holes for
the E pentatonic minor scale,
and a windway, bird, and cutting
edge like a NASF, though the bird
is glued on and there is no slow
air chamber, so more whistle-like.
It plays the same fingering as a NASF,
but has an even mellower and more
woody sound…and takes a lot more
breath. I will get used to it…and it is
a quarter the size of a conventional
Em flute, so will pack for travel, and
be easier to play sitting in the tourist
vans we use on birding and photo trips
to far off places. I have to concentrate
with a flute or I get tangled up in seat
in front of me, and hitting a bump
unexpectedly is always a risk to my
front teeth. And I am certain the
ocariNAF (as the maker calls it) will be
a conversation starter. Cedar is a pretty
wood and it has a Lichtenburg lightning
bolt burnt down the front, so pretty
striking…and the sound is not quite like
anything most will have heard. I am not
shy about playing in public, or at least
doodling out a made up melody…
and have already started any number
of conversations with my flutes…
the ocariNAF will be even more mysterious
and more likely to make folks wonder.
And wonder is good. Wonder is always
good. I am happy to do whatever I can
to increase the wonder in the world.

i wasnt tagged but im bored so here we go:
1. What’s your favourite sims death? Hmm gotta go with classic drowning tbh.
2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Maxis match.
3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Nope, I play wants-based.
4. Do you use move objects? Ye
5. Favorite mod? TOO MANY, we'd be here all damn day, phew so honorable mentions are: fway's auto trait randomizer, object freedom, ROS generator and babydilljrs DFR turn on/offs.
6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? I got them all in order on release day, so I guess University since it was the first EP. Holiday Stuff was the first SP so...you can take it from here I 'spose.
7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? LIVE like living your life, tf?
8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? TOO MANY omg. right now, basically all me sims in Waverly that ARE NOT premades (minus, Natasha Una)
9. Have you made a simself? Sure I have - dont have one right now tho.
10. What sim traits do you give yourself? Computer whiz, loner, artistic, rebellious
11. Which is your favorite EA hair color? ?! wtf kinda question is this lmaoooo
12. Favorite EA hair? TBH hairfuzzylongcp
13. Favorite life stage? YA/Adult
14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? mostly both but can def be mood-depending.
15. Are you a CC creator? sometimes.
16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad? o_O naur, at least, not that im aware of.
17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4) 2, binch.
18. Do you have any sims merch? Nah
19. Do you have a YouTube for sims? huehuehueheuhue
20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? Erm, welp for starters I did not watch my downloads folder and clean it out. I would play with alpha and MM and not mind how glaring itd look in screencaps and I'd be ALL UP in their shit. Now I watch my downloads, organize and clean that ish out. I am 99% MM and I went from being all up in their shit to being a distant god to now being wants-based.
21. What’s your Origin ID? Idk lmao, dont use origin (or the new thing that replaced it.)
22. Who’s your favorite CC creator? SO MANY AND ILY ALL, ya talented asf lil beans.
23. How long have you had a simblr? My very first Simblr post was ERRR well I made Narcissims WAY back in 2011 or some shit like that. Deleted bc i thought I was over simming, came back for Sims 4 in 2014 as Grilled Cheese Aspiration and have stayed but am forever faithful to Sims 2.
24. How do you edit your pictures? Photopea lol
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? I'm set tbh.
26. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? Pfft probably Bon Voyage, I just dont take my sims on vaca often. They barely roll the wants.
If you wanna do this, DO IT! you can say i tagged ya, these things are fun!

Zeus Brundle Ch3 [7~12]
What I'm curious about is: Does he genuinely look that cute, or does he look like a real pig but looks chibby form only to my eyes? It's the former… right?
Now the flow of the situation has changed. Well, Cae was the one who laughed first, so he had to take it. What goes around comes around
And hello Liz. This is my first time seeing you beyond Season 6. I personally preferred the previous pink eyes.
I heard that the ability to speak with animals is not common in WH sekai. I smell money
But I also heard the circus is on the decline these days. It would be much more profitable to upload animal vlogs on YouTube with that ability
Anyway, Klaus said the keyword Cae's curse. He asked Liz, who had a question mark above her head, if she knew the story mentioned at the beginning of Ch1.
I feel like I've seen this before somewhere. This feels the same as Tower of Sorrow is real thing blahblah
But the king didn't really "break" his promise, did he? He said he would allow the prince to marry her once he navigated through the Labyrinth, but didn't that also condition include returning? The prince didn't meet the conditions for his return, it cannot be said that the king broke his promise.
Erm… I thought it was the king's intention for the prince to be trapped in the labyrinth, but wasn't that the case? It's a bit weird that the curse applies to the proxy rather than the intended subject of the order.
Then is this an arbitrary action by the House of Baroque? That's weird as well
but bro what the fuck is this what kind of curse is this is this the best you can come up with? seriously? And why is there gender options. If you're going to curse someone like that anyway, just do it regardless of gender. Why should the distinction be made
But then again, that fucking lip-sealing spell exists in this WH sekai. What's wrong with that kiss blahblah curse
You know, that kind of personality is the life of the party in a state where everyone is now really close and hitting each other is tolerated. Well this kind of guy will become a race starter aka all-around troublemaker if they're in fanfic or something.
Someday I'll treat him like that too... But not now.
Anyway, the party ended, and everyone started leaving and going their separate ways. As she was about to leave, Zeus stopped her.
This guy likes dragons so much. Aren't dinosaurs the 5-year-old's favorite thing. His mental age is the same as theirs. shush
I don't know, Solmare didn't teach me But if I say "I don’t know" then I'll hear "Don't you know that, you idiot" from the mighty idiot.
You may know but I don't know dammit But fortunately, Liz answered everything. This girl is awesome
Anyway, Zeus cast the spell. If a magic circle is drawn just by chanting, is there a quick slot or something? Perhaps he memorizes the composition of the magic circle itself
He succeeded in summoning this time, above the magic circle was a fairy-like dragon.
She consumed so much mental power that her sanity score ended up going into negative territory. Let's all mourn her.
And here comes Alfonse. Surprisingly, Zeus didn't recognize him while he was close to Cae. huh, aren’t they both Day Class Prefects?
Anyway, they were having an in-depth conversation about the magic circle created by Zeus, while Liz was just watching them.
I still don't have a clue about him he's an idiot but! he's a genius however! he's an idiot nevertheless! he's talented notwithstanding! he's an idiot
And this bastard thinks the academy is his front yard Do it in front of your house
Oh, I know. I found a way to shut him up. If you ask him who would win, the black dragon or the Tyrannosaurus, he will spend the whole day thinking about it and not even open his mouth.
Anyway, Liz didn't know about black dragons, so Al taught her some: black dragons feed off darkness, but not evil as one would expect.
Yeah, I wanted this Darkness is not necessarily a bad thing. Darkness that exists above rules and order is just an element that harmonizes with other elements! Well... if it were outside of it, things would be different though

Best Grills Under $400! [ Wood Pellet, Charcoal, Propane Gas ]
We decided to test all of the best grills under $400 and find the best one for you. After hours of research and testing, we came up with a list of our top 6 favorite grills for this year. Looking For the Best Grills Under $400? Here Are Some Features to Consider - Temperature range: Ideally, you want your grill to reach temperatures between 200-500°F. This allows for low and slow cooking, as well as high-searing heat for those perfect grill marks. - Ignition type: Look at the ignition system of your grill. Make sure it's easy to light and reliable so that you can get cooking without any issues or hassle. - Cooking area: The size of the grilling surface makes a difference in how many burgers or hot dogs you can make all at once. Choose a model with enough space for all your food needs. - Fuel type: Do you prefer charcoal grilling or gas? Different fuel types have different pros and cons, so decide what works best for you before making your purchase. Top 3 grills under $400 on 2023 Best outdoor grills under $400 The best pellet grill under $400 Z GRILLS ZPG 550B Review https://youtu.be/vrC-aswbuMU The best portable wood pellet grill under $400 The best kamado ceramic grill under $400 Char-Griller E16620 Akorn Kamado Charcoal Grill FAQ Welcome back to Little Pig Barbeque! Today we're reviewing one of my favorite grills, the Char-Griller E16620 Akorn Kamado. This grill is perfect for those who love BBQ but want an easier and quicker cooking experience without sacrificing flavor or quality ingredients that can't wait around on your smoker (darned thing). We'll be getting into all sorts of stuff today so stay tuned if you've got some time constraints like me or just need something simple in order to get dinner started quickly. If you're in the market for a Kamado-style cooker, whether it be big or small and you don't want to spend too much money on them. This video is perfect then because I am going over some of my favorite affordable alternatives that will get your mouth watering while cooking delicious food without breaking anyone's bank account. You've got to see this! Come with me, I'll show you how great these grills can cook. The Char-Griller Akorn is our pick of the day and it won't be long before your mouth water from all that juicy goodness coming off a cooked meal onto one's plate. This isn't a new cooker; it's been out for several years. There is plenty of information on the internet, YouTube, and Google about this product so you know all there is to learn before making your purchase decision. So, I'm not going to tell you anything new that can't already be found on the internet. But let me give a quick run-through of why this product may very well become your favorite Kamado. This cooker is not your average ceramic-style pot, it’s metal It has double-wall insulation to keep food warm, and an air gap all around its top & bottom which means it will be able to hold onto heat better than most other pots out there. The Weber gas grill is a great starter product, but I have found that the Akorn brand provides better performance. This one holds my food at just about perfect temperature and it's very easy to use. This grill has a ton of features! I'm just going to take you through some that really caught my eye. The cheap and easy way to get a great backyard grill is by going with this cooker. You can find it at Walmart, Lowe's Home Depot, or anywhere else for under $300. Anyway, let's get into this first thing. You'll notice you got these nice side tables here - they're very nifty indeed. I've had pork on my previous visits with no issues at all; everything has been stable and easily stored when not in use (both of 'em fold down for storage). With the tables down, you can slide this into a small space. It works perfectly. Here, it has some hooks for your tools which is a nice feature. Use that often for my tongs and even the grill brush or grapefruit scrubber! So far this product works perfectly as advertised - no complaints from me. The wheels on this grill are not anything special, but they get the job done. There are two LA-style front wheels and then you have a swivel castor with an unlockable back tire for added portability. This thing is so easy to control with one hand. There's no problem going in any direction you want, and it feels really stable. The bottom of this handsome barbecue has a shelf that's perfect for holding your heat deflector or charcoal when grilling. If you want, it can be used as an extension to reach ingredients. The temperature control is so easy. For controlling your temperature, you got this nice sliding vent. Just like an oven, you have a dial with numbers on it that lets your cook know what setting they need to use for their dish - whether it's low heat or high. If you're smoking at around 225-250, it's going to be about 1. And that leaves a very narrow gap for your airflow there. The dial on this thing is really easy to adjust and understand, which makes cooking with it a breeze. You can set the temperature quickly without getting lost in all those numbers. The grill is perfect for those who want to cook at precise temperatures. It won't fluctuate more than 10 degrees all day long, so you can be sure your food will always stay warm or hot. Well, this grill gets up to 700 degrees on the thermometer. I've had it pegged out just playing around with fire: no problem at all! One chimney of lump charcoal will reach that temperature before you know what's happening (700). You can get a really nice sear on food with high heat, but it's not necessary for most other cooking methods. I don't know why you would want to use such intense flames when there are much less harsh temperatures out there that create similar results and take far less time. The durable metal construction of this grill makes it strong enough to withstand any accident. The sleek design and easy-to-use features will have you cooking like a pro in no time. The durability of this grill is unrivaled. It can stand up to even the most stubborn tip, bump or fall without cracking. Well, if you tip over a big green egg or bump into something really hard then there's a good chance that crack will spread across your whole cookware. This grill is built like a tank. Built to last and stand up against even the most stubborn of flames, this thing will be around for years with you - so long as it doesn't get blown away by some unexpected breeze. Let's open it up and check the inside out. This smoker has some great features, like the double-wall insulated cooking area which keeps food warmer longer. This will be perfect for those who want their meat slow-smoked or low and gentle. The heavy-duty stainless steel frame is perfect for cooking meals or wrapping food to keep it warm. The warming rack can also be removed and washed easily, making this an excellent addition even if you don't use it often. So, this will be either a good thing or bad depending on how you look at it. The best part about these cast-iron grates is they can be seasoned whenever you want to smoke or grill This means the seasoning won't wear off as quickly and it'll last for a really long time. But when you heat it up for the first time and make sure to keep your spice rub well-done, not only will that burnt flavor be gone but so too any chance of seafood stink happening. What you can see here is that there was some surface rust. But after a quick wipe with my handkerchief and then brushing it off, all of this will scrape away easily. I'm probably going to do some low and slow cooking with it next time, so I'll spray the griddle beforehand. When you heat up your food on this thing quickly after applying seasonings like a liquid sauce or oil will keep them from burning while they're sitting there waiting for me. The quality of the sear marks is really good. This product intelligently channels heat to ensure even cooking all over your food, which results in a beautifully browned crust on top while staying tender inside. The center insert here actually comes out. It will pop up and I believe you can get some accessories to go in there! Not sure what would work, but saw videos on YouTube of guys putting their own little things into this compartment like straps or clips for more storage space if needed. Well, I don't have any special tools to help me with my grill. It's just an open flame that smokes everything over. I'll get this grade out of the way so we can move on. I set it underneath for a minute. The accessory is really great. I ordered it and you can use it as a pizza stone, but unfortunately, this accessory doesn't come with the purchase - you have to buy it separately (but for less than $30/40$). This accessory is perfect for anyone who wants to cook with low and slow heat It lets you have that same type of experience on your gas grill, just like what happens when using an oven-friendly unit such as a Kamado Joe or Green Egg. People have said that the material is really durable, but some people reported cracks after a few months of use. I don’t know if it's because they didn't take care or something else entirely happened so be careful and don’t drop. The Char-Broil Egg has many similarities to other styles, but there are also key differences. The most notable difference is that it features fire bowl technology instead of metal inserts within the inner pot for ash disposal like you find with big green eggs; this means more durability and easier cleanup. You can use this grill to fill up with typically in AMO. You would have lump-style charts, but if you want an even easier way then just brick ETS. The holes on this great grill allow for the ash to fall through just like any other type of charcoal grill, which means you don't have as many messes and can easily clean up after yourself. The reason you can’t use brick ETS in other grills is that the holes are small and get clogged easily with ash. But, if you use briquettes I found that it is not only easier on the earth but also there are no problems when burning. Well, this is what we call a heat deflector and it helps hold the temperature in. You got an air gap around which is great for holding onto that warmth. We'll get our deflector back here so that it works just as well. I can already tell that this is going to be an amazing product! The first thing people usually complain about with big green eggs is how hard it seems to clean. You have to take all this stuff out. You'll sweep up the Ash into your cart and then get underneath it, where you can kind of vacuum away any remaining particles with a brush or mop head before sweeping them back outside again so they don't come inside. The designers behind this design have chosen to use a latch system so that when you flip the switch on one side, all of its counterparts will become accessible. So now you've got a fully charged Ash in there. All that's left to do is dump it out if there are any little pieces of grease or anything like that And they just slip right back into place. You may think that by clamping the heating element in place, you'll lose all of your heat or maybe even some smoke out. But this isn't true. When that's clamped in, that's gonna push that thing up to the gasket seal. The build quality is really impressive. It has no smoke or heat leaking out of it, which you can't do with a traditional-style Kamado because they're designed to let through as much airflow possible for fast and even cooking without compromising on safety standards. This thing is so versatile, it'll please any palate. If you're on a budget and can only get one cooker then this would be my recommendation for what's right at $300. You can do anything you want with your smoker. You may have noticed that I didn't say "smoker" - it's because there is no such thing. A good quality grill will get the job done just as well, and in some cases better than a traditional pitmaster’s tool of choice for many years now. You can also do some intense searing on meats or fish while grilling them at high temperatures for a longer period of time in order to achieve certain flavors that are only found by cooking these types of foods this way. The best temperature to run your grill is about 250-275 degrees Fahrenheit. And if you fill it up with charcoal, I've had the fire burn for 10 hours before without stopping. The food is evenly cooked all the way around, and anything you put on turns out great. And honestly - there's not much more to it than that. You just throw some smoking wood onto your fire; then sit back and enjoy your time. You can put your food on and not have to worry about it until it's done. The product is built extremely well, and you'll be really impressed with how sturdy it feels. I've seen some complaints that the negative side of this product is rust. Yeah, it's gonna start rusted immediately when you bring your outdoor fire pit inside and leave for an extended period of time without using protection from rain or snowfall; but if taken care of with regular cleaning then there shouldn't be any problems. I had another one before this, and it was outside for about two years. The rust wasn't bad though - just some surface grime on the bolts or screws that hold its legs together (no big deal). They were just a little bit rusted, but not enough that I thought it would be hard to clean up or ruin them. In order to keep your grill safe from the elements, it is important that you do not forget about its exterior. Just keep it covered and make sure you're storing things properly in the winter months. That's all there is to do. Well, if you like this cooker then I want to know what's up with it. Let me know your thoughts on the product. Hope you found this review of the Char-Griller E16620 Akorn Kamado Grill helpful. The information it provides will be sure to enhance your knowledge and experience with any future purchases! The best grill and griddle combo under $400 Royal Gourmet GD401 FAQ The best charcoal grill under $400 Weber Performer Charcoal Grill FAQ I am here to talk about the Weber Performance Deluxe Charcoal Grill and how it will make your next camping trip more enjoyable. This product includes everything you need in one package: A charcoal grill with a built-in gas ignition system as well as a side shell for easy transportability on any terrain type; durable construction made especially lightweight so carrying this around isn't too much burden even when fully loaded down - you'll be able to set up shop wherever there's space left over at home because let me tell ya', these grills are big sellers among outdoor enthusiasts everywhere. He has a nice side shelf on there, perfect for prepping food or serving your dish. He also gets an extra-large workspace with plenty of storage underneath and two drawers at the other end where you can put anything else that needs storing away. Plus those big wheels make moving around super simple no matter which direction he's going in regards to his workspace. You can wheel it about if you want, or put it away at different times when not in use. There's a bin for Charcoal and one to hold regular garbage - but why not take advantage of its other features too? This little box here is our timer. If you want to cook in time, use that. Thermometers these days are really good at noticing when food's ready because they have a lot more sensors than just one spirit thermometer used traditionally past years would've had on them. With our kettle now black enamel coated, it will be easy for us to keep a clean temperature gauge on top. We'll also have vents at both the bottom and top of this grill in order to control its warmth or coolness as needed. The grill is equipped with several features that allow you to maintain your desired temperature while cooking, including an ash collection system. The more air flowing into it and the higher heat around 180 degrees Fahrenheit will ensure thorough roasting of food inside without burning them on any side! After you've finished, there's an easy system to get rid of your coal and ash. What's nice about this metal bar that goes around the edge here, and just holds your lid. You don’t have to hold onto anything when cooking; it sits like so on top of our grill (in front) with two big handles for easy access. The bit patterns also allow you to stain whatever surface they are sitting next to we gutted part way through building ours which made moving coals easier than ever before since all surfaces got stained at once. Cleanup couldn't be simpler either -all one has to do is want their stovetop to look spotless again. The GBS system comes out, which is great for cooking pizza stones and other items. You can cook in all sorts of different ways with this grill! Inside the main chamber are standard drip pans so your juices will go right there too if you're roasting something like chickens or ducks; they'll keep their moisture inside instead of wasting it on an unneeded surface area outside where no one wants them (or needs more than one). This is how to cook like a pro. charcoal trays are great for grilling and roasting meat, but they also work perfectly as a grill surface when you want the flavor of direct flame without all that Ash versus indirect heat messiness! To use one simply put some Charcoal into each slot then place it over your desired cooking method (indirect vs middle) - either way this bad boy will deliver amazing results every time. The barbecue is a great way to cook food and also have fun You can use gas, which we've got here in this canister as well as lit by pressing down on it with your finger until there's an ignite button underneath where you put wood chips or whatever else suits your needs best. With the Weber Performer Charcoal Grill, you can light up your charcoal in no time. There's never been an easier way to get that fire started! Simply attach a lighter cube onto one end of it and then use its gas power from either below or above - whichever works best for where they're going on their grill at any given moment (and there won't be much transition). Once lit with ease thanks to both these innovative features combined together...you'll never need another method again when wanting high temperatures fast; just turn it off once everything looks ready. Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures Universe Watch Guide
The current Barbie universe consists of so many different types of media it’s a little hard to keep track of what order to watch things in so I have made a guide to help you out!
The BDAU currently consists of Barbie’s YouTube Vlogs, Barbie Dolphin Magic, Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures, Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures: Go Team Roberts, Barbie Princess Adventure, Barbie & Chelsea: The Lost Birthday, Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams, Barbie: It Takes Two, Barbie: Mermaid Power, Barbie Life in the City, Barbie: Epic Road Trip, Barbie: Skipper and the Big Babysitting Adventure, Barbie & Barbie: On Set, Barbie: A Touch of Magic, Barbie & Stacie to the Rescue, and The Barbie Podcast.
The fact that Barbie is always uploading vlogs and podcasts between the episodes and movies is what makes it complicated but I’ve used release/upload dates to organise them in the right order for you!
For some reason Netflix automatically starts Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures at season 3 instead of season 1 so just make sure you’re on the right season when you start!
Also the last season of Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures: Go Team Roberts is out of order on Netflix according to Wikipedia so I have put them in the correct order for you.
Here’s a playlist I made of all of the YouTube content in order (vlogs, Barbie Life in the City, Barbie & Barbie: On Set, The Barbie Podcast) that also includes trailers for the movies/shows to remind you when to watch those.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Have fun with your Barbie binge! PACE ✌️

Fashion Analysis (Part 2: Outside of Amatonormativity Alone)
[Note: This post is a part of a series analyzing self-expression, fashion, aromanticism, and how they interact with other parts of identity. For full context please read the whole thing!]
Outside of Amatonormativity Alone: Sexism, Homophobia (and/or Transphobia), Racism, Ableism, and Other Factors That can Impact Self Expression
My comic was originally meant to be a light hearted joke. I’d always been told I’d want to dress up one day, be pretty and feminine once I fell in love with a boy (BLEGH). I was so certain that I would never do that, and now … here we are. I put lots of effort into my appearance, present feminine, all in the hopes I’ll impress a very special someone - a potential employer at a networking event. I think there’s a certain irony to all of this, and I do find it funny that I managed to both be wrong and completely subvert amatonormative stereotypes!
But having the chance to think about the whole situation, I realize now that my changes in presentation reflect far more. The pressure I felt to dress differently are still influenced by fundamental forms of discrimination in society, and I would be remiss to not address these inherent factors that were tied with my experiences alongside my aromanticism. So in this section, I will briefly cover some of these factors and summarize how they can influence people’s self expression as a whole, before discussing my own experiences and how these factors all intersect.
Sexism
The pressure on women In This Society to uphold arbitrary norms is ever present and often harmful, and while I wish I had the time to discuss the impacts of every influence the patriarchy has on personal expression, to even try to cover a fraction of it would be impractical at best for this essay. Instead, since the original comic focuses on professionalism and presentation, this is what I will talk about here.
Beauty standards are a specific manifestation of sexism that have a deep impact on how people perceive women. It’s a complicated subject that’s also tied with factors like capitalism, white supremacy, classism, and more, but to summarize the main sentiment: Women are expected to be beautiful. Or at least, conform to the expectations of “feminine” “beauty” as ascribed by the culture at large.
They also tend to be considered exclusively as this idea that "women need to be beautiful to secure their romantic prospects, which subsequently determines their worth as human beings. The problematic implications of this sentiment have been called out time and time again (and rightfully so), however there is an often overlooked second problematic element to beauty standards, as stated in the quote below:
“Beauty standards are the individual qualifications women are expected to meet in order to embody the “feminine beauty ideal” and thus, succeed personally and professionally”
- Jessica DeFino. (Source 1)
… To succeed personally, and professionally.
The “Ugly Duckling Transformation” by Mina Le (Source 2) is a great video essay that covers the topic of conforming to beauty standards through the common “glow up” trope present in many (female focused) films from the early 2000s.
“In most of these movies, the [main character] is a nice person, but is bullied or ignored because of her looks.”
Mina Le, (timestamp 4:02-4:06)
Generally, by whatever plot device necessary, the ugly duckling will adopt a new “improved” presentation that includes makeup, a new haircut, and a new wardrobe. While it is not inherently problematic for a woman to be shown changing to embrace more feminine traits, there are a few problems with how the outcomes of these transformations are always depicted and what they imply. For starters, this transformation is shown to be the key that grants the protagonist her wishes and gives her confidence and better treatment by her peers. What this is essentially saying is that women are also expected to follow beauty standards to be treated well in general, not only in a romantic context, and deviation from these norms leads to the consequences of being ostracized.
The other problematic element of how these transformations are portrayed are the fact that generally the ONLY kind of change that is depicted in popular media is one in the more feminine direction. Shanspeare, another video essayist on YouTube, investigates this phenomenon in more detail in “the tomboy figure, gender expression, and the media that portrays them” (Source 4). In this video, Shaniya explains that “tomboy” characters are only ever portrayed as children - which doesn’t make any sense at face value, considering that there ARE plenty of masculine adult women in real life. But through the course of the video (and I would highly recommend giving it a watch! It is very good), it becomes evident that the “maturity” aspect of coming of age movies inherently tie the idea of growth with “learning” to become more feminine. Because of the prevalence of these storylines (as few mainstream plots will celebrate a woman becoming more masculine and embracing gender nonconformity) it becomes clear that femininity is fundamentally associated with maturity. It also implies that masculinity in women is not only not preferred, it is unacceptable to be considered mature. Both of these sentiments are ones that should be questioned, too.
Overall, I think it is clear that these physical presentation expectations, even if not as restrictive as historical dress codes for women have been, are still inherently sexist (not to mention harmful by also influencing people to have poor self image and subsequent mental health disorders). Nobody should have to dress in conformity with gender norms to be considered “acceptable”, not only desirable, which leads us to the second part of this section.
Homophobia (and/or Transphobia)
So what happens when women don’t adhere to social expectations of femininity? (Or in general, someone chooses to present in a way that challenges the gender binary and their AGAB, but for the sake of simplicity I will discuss it from my particular lens as a cis woman who is pansexual).
There are a lot of nuances, of course, to whether it’s right that straying from femininity as a woman (or someone assumed to be a woman) will automatically get read a certain way by society. But like it or not, right or not, if you look butch many people WILL see you as either gay, (or trans-masculine, which either way is not a cishet woman). This is tied to the fact that masculinity is something historically associated with being WLW (something we will discuss later).
This association of breaking gender norms in methods of dress with being perceived as a member of the LGBTQ+ community has an influence on how people may choose to express themselves, because LGBTQ+ discrimination is very real, and it can be very dangerous in many parts of the world.
I think it’s very easy to write off claims in particular that women are pressured into dressing femininely when it is safer to do so in your area; but I really want to remind everyone that not everyone has the luxury of presenting in a gender non-conforming way. This pressure to conform does exist in many parts of the world, and can be lethal when challenged.
And even if you’re not in an extremely anti-LGBTQ+ environment/places that are considered “progressive” (like Canada), there are still numerous microagressions/non-lethal forms of discrimination that are just as widespread. According to Statistics Canada in 2019:
Close to half (47%) of students at Canadian postsecondary institutions witnessed or experienced discrimination on the basis of gender, gender identity or sexual orientation (including actual or perceived gender, gender identity or sexual orientation).
(Source 3)
Fundamentally this additional pressure that exists when one chooses to deviate from gender norms is one that can not be ignored in the conversation when it comes to how people may choose to express themselves visually, and I believe the impacts that this factor has and how it interacts with the other factors discussed should be considered.
Neurodivergence (In general):
In general, beauty standards/expectations for how a “mature” adult should dress can often include clothing that creates sensory issues for many autistic people. A thread on the National Austistic Forum (Source 6) contains a discussion where different austistic people describe their struggles with formal dress codes and the discomfort of being forced to wear stiff/restrictive clothing, especially when these dress codes have no practical purpose for the work they perform. If you’re interested in learning more on this subject, the Autisticats also has a thread on how school dress codes specifically can be harmful to Autistic people (Source 7).
In addition to potentially dressing differently (which as we have already covered can be a point of contention in one’s perception and reception by society as a whole), neurodivergence is another layer of identity that tends to be infantilized. Eden from the Autsticats has detailed their experiences with this in source 5.
Both of these factors can provide a degree of influence on how people choose to express themselves and/or how they may be perceived by society, and are important facets of a diverse and thoughtful exploration of the ways self-expression can be impacted by identity.
Also, while on this topic, I just want to take a chance to highlight the fact that we should question what is considered “appropriate”, especially “professionally appropriate”, because the “traditional” definitions of these have historically been used to discriminate against minorities. Much of what gets defined as “unprofessional” or otherwise “inappropriate” has racist implications - as an example, there is a history of black hairstyles being subjected to discriminatory regulation. Other sources I have provided at the end of this document (8 and 9) list examples of these instances.
Racism (being Chinese, specifically in this case):
For this section, I won’t be going into much depth at all, because I actually have a more detailed comic on this subject lined up.
So basically, if you were not aware, East Asian (EA) people tend to be infantilized and viewed as more childish (Source 10). In particular, unless an EA woman is super outgoing and promiscuous (the “Asian Bad Girl” stereotype, see Source 10), IN MY OPINION AND EXPERIENCE it’s easy to be type casted as the other end of the spectrum: the quiet, boring nerd. On top of this too, I’ve had experiences with talking to other EA/SEA people - where they themselves would repeatedly tell me that “Asians are just less mature”, something about it being a “cultural thing” (Yeah … I don’t know either. Maybe it’s internalized racism?).
Either way, being so easily perceived as immature (considering everything discussed so far) is also tied to conformity to beauty standards and other factors such as sexism and homophobia, which I believe makes for a complex intersection of identity.

HI LEAF IVE BEEN HYPERFIXATING ON MC STORY MODE AND ON STAMPYCAT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT STAMPYCAT BEING THE WHITE PUMPKIN IT SOUNDS SO COOL
HELLO HI YES I AM MORE THAN WILLING TO EXPLAIN
Before I start I wanna give a huge shout out to @mephones-declining-mental-health who was actually the first to point a lot of this out. We spent a lot of time putting this all together and she deserves a ton of credit for it. So go check them out.
ok so mcsm is an old game so quick refresher on episode 6: Jesse and his gang end up in another world and are put into a murder-mystery type situation. They’re trapped in the mansion due to zombies and have to survive until the day while the person who invited them all to the mansion (who goes by “The White Pumpkin”) kills them off one-by-one in order to obtain the Enchanted Flint And Steel. Which Jesse is also trying to get. Minus the main cast, everyone in this murder mystery is based off and voiced by famous minecraft YouTubers from the time. This was a pretty genius move on TellTale’s part because it meant the players were already going in with a certain level of attachment to these characters, allowing the game to kill them off in a way that would be emotionally impactful without effecting the plot of the overall story that much.
The people you meet in the mansion are the following youtubers: CaptainSparklez, TorqueDawg, StampyCat, TheDiamondMinecart, LDShadowLady, StacyPlays, and CassieRose
Multiple of these YouTubers are killed off (though some can be either saved or killed depending on your choices) and [spoiler warning] Cassie Rose is revealed to be the white pumpkin at the end. Her motivation being that she’s stuck away from her home world for and desperate to get back.
Now here’s the thing: that doesn’t make Any sense.
Cassie doesn’t have a single line or any piece of evidence that would necessarily point to her being the white pumpkin. The only real evidence that points to her feels so last minute and forced. And just completely disregards any other scene in which you were collecting evidence.
This would be less frustrating if there weren’t multiple other people that had far more evidence against them. But the one who has the most undeniable evidence against them? StampyCat.
Now I don’t know if they changed the story halfway through development or if the writers at TellTale are just bad at their jobs (equally likely but there is some evidence to suggest Cassie was not always the intended White Pumpkin) but Stampy has the most evidence, best motive, and would have just been a very interesting villain entirely.
Let’s go over everything.
So for starters. The first murder.
Spoiler alert! But the first murder is TorqueDawg. He stands under a dispenser that shoots him with a poison tipped arrow and he dies.
Now, tipped arrows were a relatively new thing at the time, and the game makes a point out of this. A lot of the characters in the mansion Don’t Know what a tipped arrow is. But a few do.
After the second murder (which we’ll address in a moment) you have the ability to interrogate three of the characters. LDShadowLady, TheDiamondMinecart, and StampyCat
Lizzie (LDShadowLady) is fully aware of the tipped arrows. Both Dan (TheDiamondMinecart) and Stampy point this out. When you ask her about it, she says she does know how to make them and taught others about it.
One of the people she talked about the tip arrows to is Cassie, aka the white pumpkin. So story-wise it does make sense. But Lizzie also states that Stampy had asked her about the tipped arrows, and specifically how to make them. So we know he has full knowledge of them.
But what does Stampy say when you ask him about the tipped arrows?
“I’ve never seen anything like it before”
This is Never addressed. Not once. Stampy blatantly lies about knowledge of a murder weapon when he seemingly has no reason to do so and he gets away with it.
So Stampy 1. Has the ability to create the weapon used for the murder and 2. Felt the need to hide this ability.
So that’s pretty suspicious right off the bat.
Now these interviews are caused by the second murder. So let’s talk about that.
Second murder: CaptainSparklez is pushed into a sand pit and suffocated by a very elaborate redstone trap. The trap is activated by one of the buttons on the table that they’re all sitting at.
Each of the buttons activates the trap, but only one of them was actually pressed. The connection we’re supposed to make here is that the White Pumpkin set up multiple buttons to keep suspicion off of themself.
The people sitting at the buttons were StampyCat, TheDiamondMinecart, LDShadowLady and Jesse’s friend Lucas.
Now you’ll notice that CassieRose, the actual White Pumpkin, is not on this list.
TheDiamondMinecart (Dan) is the one who presses the button. Dan is supposed to be a Red Herring here as he didn’t know what the button would do and pressed it anyway (though he’s a bad red herring. And we’ll discuss that in a moment). Even with the knowledge that it wasn’t the white pumpkin who pressed it, it doesn’t make any sense for her to have not been sitting at a seat with a button. And this is never really addressed either. Making this scene a complete waste of time, unless of course the original white pumpkin was intended to be one of those 4 people.
The interviews give us a lot of knowledge about the interpersonal relationships of the characters and what their skill levels are. Such as what I discussed earlier about the tipped arrows. But one thing that stays consistent is Jesse’s insistence that whoever the white pumpkin is, they must be good at redstone.
And he’s right. Every trap set by the white pumpkin at this point was redstone activated. Whoever made it must have been very skilled with it. And out of all the suspects there’s only one who has that level of ability. Stampy.
Both Dan and Lizzie make a point of saying that Stampy is a master of redstone and his skill is unmatched. But when Stampy is asked about this, his first instinct is to lie about it. When you catch him in this lie, he immediately back-tracks.
So Stampy
Has knowledge on how to build the first murder weapon (which wasn’t knowledge everyone had at the time)
Completely lies about this knowledge and is never called out for it
Was sitting at one of the buttons that caused the second murder
Is the only one with the redstone knowledge capable of creating the white pumpkins traps.
Lies about his redstone ability
So there you go! That’s a ton of evidence against him! And pretty much no evidence against Cassie other than the fact that she also knew about tipped arrows at the time.
In fact the dinner scene confirms Cassie can’t be a suspect unless we’re supposed to believe she just hoped someone else would do the job for her. Which considering she’s later characterized to be super paranoid and unwilling to leave things to chance, I doubt it.
While looking through secret tunnels you manage to find a secret conversation between Dan and Lizzie where Dan admits that he was the one who pushed the button on accident and that he feels super guilty about it. Jessie spots the white pumpkin looking through a painting at this moment. And considering he’s also seeing Dan and Lizzie, and he knows where Lucas is, out of all the people sitting near buttons, Stampy is the only one left. If the White Pumpkin was someone who was sitting at one of the buttons (which it should have been) it would have had to be Stampy
Now I do think having Dan push the button is realistic and fine. It’s a button. Everyone likes pushing buttons. But the fact that the white pumpkin would Bet On That Happening and not sit near a button at all feels like it couldn’t possibly be right, especially because everything else is so thought through and calculated. It feels out of character for Cassie to do. Cassie being the white pumpkin also means those interview scenes were an entire waste of time. They gave us no real information that could be used in the case and crossed off the real murderer as a possible suspect.
If *Stampy* was the murderer however, this would have made a lot more sense. As the interviews would have given us a lot of info about him and against him. Plus his relationship to the others. Even if Dan turned out to be the one who pressed the button, we still would have gotten that important info on Stampy. Not to mention that Dan just so happening to press the button before the White Pumpkin got a chance is a lot more believable than the White Pumpkin betting on that.
Now the way the story actually goes is that Stampy is revealed to have the enchanted flint and steel (even though before he claimed to not even want it) and as I’ve said, Cassie is revealed to be the white pumpkin.
We learn she’s the white pumpkin because she’s the only one who didn’t have a portrait of herself with a red X over it, which is a sign someone had died. Meaning she was never intended to die at all.
Now because the writing team didn’t put any actual evidence of her being guilty before this, they slip in a Not At All Subtle clue that she’s the white pumpkin.
The white pumpkin’s hide out is Filled with calico cats. The same cats as Winslow (the cat that Cassie had kept with her). And while this is obviously supposed to tell us it’s her, it doesn’t really make much sense as a clue. Considering Winslow is just one cat. A bunch of cats that look like him is sort of out-of-nowhere. She’s had no real evidence against her other than the final connection, meanwhile all signs seem to point to Stampy.
This doesn’t necessarily mean anything but I do think it’s worth mentioning that there is one character who Does have a ton of animals like the ones we see in the white pumpkin’s room. And that’s Stampy. He has a ton of dogs that could have easily taken the place of the cats. But anyway.
This last second Right At The End clue seems to almost indicate that there was some change in writing half way through the process. Before Stampy is revealed to have the flint and steel (which is something that any character could have confessed to and the story would be pretty much the same), the story makes a lot more sense with the idea that Stampy was originally intended to be the white pumpkin. We can also gather that it seems they intended the white pumpkin to be a man, as the protagonists refer to the white pumpkin by he/him pronouns and that assumption is never addressed when they learn the white pumpkin is a girl.
Either that or the writers are just. bad. Which is also very likely.
That’s all the evidence I have. So let’s talk about how story-wise it would have been so much more interesting to make Stampy the white pumpkin.
Cassie is great. But she didn’t get a lot of actual screen time in game until her villain reveal because she really never had any evidence against her. Stampy however got a lot of screen time and was generally the fan favorite when it came to the youtubers that were in episode 6. He was one of the most beloved youtubers at the time and the writers took that into account.
Whenever Stampy was accused of something, he’d play the innocent card. He’d say things like “it’s me! Stampy! I’m everyone’s friend!” In an attempt to get sympathy. Instead of defending himself, he played at the emotions of the people around him. He was played as the sweet innocent character who wouldn’t do anything wrong. I think this would have made him a Great twist villain. It would have made a lot more sense for the end scene as well, as the other youtubers defend Cassie, saying she would “never do something like that”. Which never really made sense considering they all knew one of them must have done it, and none of them had any real connection to her. Defending Stampy or being shocked would have made a lot more sense regarding the relationships of the characters.
His villain reveal would have been so much more surprising as well, as Cassie’s tone quickly shifts to much more malicious once she admits to being the White Pumpkin. And while I do believe shes a very good actor, I do believe the scene would have had an extra punch if the lines were delivered by someone who was previously set up to be the trustworthy friend who wouldn’t hurt a fly
But it’s Cassie’s motive specifically that I think would have fit So Well if Stampy had taken her place.
Cassie wants the flint and steel so that she can return to her home dimension. She’a been stuck here for a very long time and is willing to do anything to get back home. Specifically saying that she needs to get out of this “stupid world”.
Now this will only really make sense for those who are familiar with StampyCat outside of mcsm. But I’ll do my best to explain.
Stampy, as a YouTuber, was known for his “lovely world”. The minecraft world that he loved and cared about a lot. If the plot line was that Stampy specifically was separated from his lovely world, it would have been a great motive that he was desperate to get back it it.
So uh. Yeah! I think that’s all I got. I’m sure me and Worm aren’t the only people who have come to this conclusion but I’m just here to put it all into writing. I’m not sure if this was all a last minute change or sloppy writing but either way I think it’s interesting!

music recommendations because i have some thoughts™
i don't wanna be that person who's like "my music taste is so weird lol" but i find that very often most of my friends don't really care for the music i like so i thought i'd just make a long ass post about it on tumblr instead. Fair warning, I'm very passionate about MIKA and The Mechanisms and so this very quickly got VERY long because it is part of my ongoing campaign to convince people to listen to mika and the mechs.
1) MIKA in general, but especially My Name Is Michael Holbrook (2019) and No Place In Heaven (2015) (especially the Deluxe version!!)
MIKA is a kind of British singer (half Lebanese, grew up in France blabla), and you probably know him for Grace Kelly and Relax, Take It Easy from his first album Life In Cartoon Motion from 2007. He writes a lot of FUN music, interspersed with the occasional slightly sadder song, especially when looking at an album like No Place In Heaven, which contains a lot of songs with gay themes, resulting in some songs that are just a little bit ouch. He's originally classically trained and has a frankly RIDICULOUS range and idk he just writes very good pop music. Also I have so much respect for that time he talked about how a lot of pop is very fake, with like expensive cars and stilettos and mini skirts in the snow and said "Because I walk down the street, and I don't see any of that. I see fat women and gay men. I don't know... That's real". He's written 5 albums; My Name Is Michael Holbrook (2019), No Place In Heaven (2015), The Origin Of Love (2012), The Boy Who Knew Too Much (2009), and Life In Cartoon Motion (2007).
For starters, I recommend listening to Last Party, Origin Of Love, Grace Kelly, Blame It On The Girls, Blue, Happy Ending, Pick Up Off The Floor, Last Party, Underwater, Tomorrow and Tiny Love (yes this is a long list but i REALLY love MIKA). If you want a slightly broader palette that's not just my favourites, I recommend the Mika starter pack on spotify.
2) The Mechanisms. I warn you. I am making this a thing. I have been obsessed with the mechs since last march.
Boy, where to start? The Mechanisms were a British 9 member space pirate story-telling cabaret that "died" in January 2020. They rewrite songs to fit retellings of various stories. I don't even know what genre I'd describe them as, but probably folk but steam-punk?? Their 4 "main" albums are concept albums, and I honestly just recommend listening to the from beginning to end in chronological order. A good way to get into the mechs is also to listen to UDAD and then watching the live show on youtube or alternately try giving Death To The Mechanisms a listen, to get good quality live show audio of TBI and various other stuff. Also, it was streamed on YouTube and someone combined the footage with the album audio and it rocks. Really, I think the mechs' best selling points are honestly just their concept albums:
Once Upon a Time (In Space) Their first album from 2012. I'd say this is the most "easily digestible" for the general public, since it's a retelling of various fairytales. So, what if Old King Cole was in fact not merry, but rather a cold-blooded dictator, intent on colonising as much of the galaxy as possible. What if Snow White was a general, looking to avenge what King Cole did to her sister, Rose. What if Cinderella was to be wedded to Rose the day that King Cole attacked in order to kidnap Rose? But y'know, In Space and also like every other mechs album it's a beautiful tragedy. Fave songs are Old King Cole, Pump Shanty, and No Happy Ending.
Ulysses Dies at Dawn You guessed it, it's a story about Odysseus, or Ulysses because I guess Ulysses is easier to rhyme or fit in the meter or something, idk. Ulysses is a war hero of unknown gender who is said to keep something that could take down the corrupt Olympians, meanest families in the City, in a vault to which only they know the passcode. Oedipus, Heracles, Orpheus, and Ariadne have been hired by Hades, who happens to be The Mechs' quartermaster Ashes O'Reilly, to get into Ulysses' vault. I didn't care much for udad at first, but honestly it's got some real bangers and the story is really good. UDAD weirdly stands out as the only of the concept albums to not feature any gay relationships, per se. Fave songs are Riddle of the Sphinx, Favoured Son, and Underworld Blues.
High Noon over Camelot This is my favourite mehcs album. So basically, this is Arthurian legend, but it's a space western and Jonny D'Ville does a bad southern accent. This is the story of the cowboy lovers Arther, Lancelot, and Guinevere searching for the Galfridian Restricted Acces Interface Login, or GRAIL, in order to stop their world from falling into the sun. Meanwhile, Mordred and Gawaine are ruling Camelot, and Mordred has convinced Gawaine to try to establish peace with the Saxons by whom Mordred was raised, but Gawaine hates viciously. If you love getting your heart broken and songs by a fucking off the rails batshit preacher I HIGHLY recommend hnoc. Fave songs are Gunfight at the Dolorous Guard, Blood and Whiskey, and Once and Future King. Honorary mention for Hellfire because it awakens something animalistic in me.
The Bifrost Incident TBI is the frankly only good adaptation of norse mythology I've ever known of, and I say that as Dane who was literally forced to learn things about norse mythology in school because it's my heritage or whatever. I've been listening to TBI a lot lately because it's VERY good. It's definitely the most refined of the mechs' albums (because it's the newest) but also I just love a little bit of cosmic horror. 80 years ago, Odin, the All-Mother, ruler of Asgaard, launched a train through the wormhole Bifrost that would reduce the travel between Asgaard and Midgaard from 3 months to 3 days, but things didn't go quite as planned. Lyfrassir Edda of the New Midgaard Transport Police is trying to solve the case of why suddenly the train has arrived 80 years late; to figure out whether it was accident or maybe it was sabotaged by Loki, who was allegedly sentence to death her murder of Baldur, by the Midgaardian resistance led by Loki's wife Sigyn, or maybe by Thor, who was to take over after Odin, and who holds quite the grudge because he used to be a friend of Loki's. You might've heard the song Thor from this album, it's apparently quite popular. Fave songs are Loki, Ragnarok III: Strange Meeting, and Ragnarok V: End of The Line. Yet again an honorary mention: Red Signal because while Lovecraft was a bitch, his invocations are fucking RAW.
Basically, the Mechanisms do all of their performances in character as captain first mate Jonny D'Ville, quartermaster Ashes O'Reilly, pilot DrumBot Brian, master-at-arms Gunpowder Tim, science officer Raphaella la Cognizi, doctor Baron Marius Von Raum (neither a baron, nor a doctor), archivist Ivy Alexandria, engineer Nastya Rasputina, and The Toy Soldier, who is, as usual, present. You can find very obscure lore about the crew of the Aurora here, tidbits on Tales To Be Told and TTBT Vol. 2, such as One Eyed Jacks, The Ignominious Demise of Dr. Pilchard, Gunpowder Tim vs. The Moon Kaiser, Lucky Sevens, and Lost in the Cosmos.
If you feel like listening to a full 40-50 minute album to find out if you like a band is a bit much, I recommend listening to one of the mini stories Alice, Swan Song, or Frankenstein, which are about 12, 5 and 9:30 minutes respectively.
3) The Amazing Devil You know that guy who played Jaskier in the Witcher? I got into The Amazing Devil from spotify recommending them because I listened to the mechs, and apparently Joey Batey from The Amazing Devil is the same Joey Batey who was in the Witcher. Both him and Madeleine Hyland are VERY talented singers and songwriters and their second album The Horror and the Wild makes me go out into the forest and SCREAM. I listened to it on repeat for like a month straight. I guess they'd also be considered folk, but like. New Folk. Also yes, this is another British artist, I don't know why I'm like this. I've never really gotten that into their first album, Love Run, but King slaps. As I understand there's this whole lore about the Blue Furious Boy and Scarlet Scarlet, Joey and Madeleine respectively, but unlike the Mechanisms it's actually possible to find out things about the actual real people and harder to find the obscure lore? I'm open for people to please help me. Fave songs are The Horror and the Wild, Farewell Wanderlust, and That Unwanted Animal, which is literally a third of their second album, but again. I haven't really listened to Love Run that much, and I just LOVE the harmonies on THATW. (also im gay and dramatic leave me alone)
4) dodie I have so much love for this woman. Like many others, I first knew dodie as doddleoddle on youtube. I think I first stumbled across her in probably 2015, because I distinctly already knew her before she released her first EP Sick of Losing Soulmates in 2016. I think I watched probably every video she's ever made in the span of a few weeks. I just loved her quiet sound and was absolutely HOOKED. Also she's actually the reason I got into MIKA originally, so thanks for that. Dodie just realeased her first album Build A Problem (in addition to her three EP's; the one mentioned above, You, and Human) and it slaps. Yes dodie is also British Fave songs are probably Monster, Rainbow, and In The Middle.
5) Cladia Boleyn Unfortunately, Claudia Boleyn only has three singles and that's it. She's been making content on youtube for quite a while, and that's how I first discovered her. I don't know what genre her music is, but I like it. The songs are Celesta, George, and Mother Maiden Crone, of which the latter is my favourite. I'm not saying Claudia Boleyn invented women in 2017 when she released Mother Maiden Crone, but she did. Also you guessed it, Claudia Boleyn is British.
6) Hozier I'm not about to tell you about Hozier. You know who he is. Listen to Nina Cried Power, Angel Of Small Death & The Codeine Scene, and Shrike. Also Hozier isn't stricly British in that he is definitely from A British Isle, but Ireland is not part of the UK. Give me a break.
7) Oh Land Oh Land IS DANISH. I like her early music best, because I'm not that into the electronic sound. I guess Oh Land is just you regular old pop, but with the occasional weird vibe? Oddly enough, I like her first album Fauna best. Unfortunately I haven't really listened to her newest album Family Tree much, but it seems good? Fave songs are Frostbite, Love You Better and Family Tree. I cried on the bus, first time I listened to the Danish version of Love You Better, Elsker Dig Mer because my mother tongue always just hits harder. Also Frostbite is Oh Land doing a duet with herself which is pretty cool.
8) Oysterband This is a live recommendation. I mean they're a decent folk band and all, but they're a fucking experience live. If you like folk and you ever get the opportunity to see Oysterband live, do it. Unfortunately, yes. They are British. Either way, they are incredible on a scene and I think they deserve a mention for that.
9) Ben Platt Honestly don't know much about this guy, but he's not British and he was in Dear Evan Hansen. He released an album in 2019, Sing To Me Instead, and I just think it's a good album, there isn't really not much more to it. Fave songs are Grow As We Go, Bad Habit, and In Case You Don't Live Forever.
and thats all for now. this has been a ramble. shout out to you if you actually read all of this, especially the mechs part.

hello!! i just wanted to ask- i wanna do an ouat rewatch bc CAPTAIN SWANN but its pretty long and i honestly dont care for the other characters/how badly the overall writing was handled.. which are your favourite captain swan eps? anything them centered and i think ill just skip around to rewatch their romance as they did invent romance 😭😭 ty in advance <3
they absolutely did invent romance, you are right about that and i love them so much
UHMMMM as far as my favorite CS eps, here’s a roadmap of what I personally consider key eps in their journey (some of this is from memory but I haven’t done a full rewatch in a while so i’m going through the episode list as a refresher)
2x06: Tallahassee--this is a must-watch ep for any CS fan, and I really think this is the episode that sparked the fire that CS would become as a fandom. It has everything--flirtatious banter, all kinds of tension, deliberate parallels drawn between Emma and Killian’s pasts, as well as their first meeting being intercut with her relationship with Neal (which serves, especially in hindsight, to highlight just how sketchy that relationship was, and why she couldn’t bring herself to trust Killian--because the last time she felt this way about anyone, it ended horribly)
2x08 and 2x09: Into the Deep and Queen of Hearts--these episodes cover the race to the portal between Emma&co and Hook/Cora and while they don’t do a ton for CS as a relationship since they’re still enemies at this point, it lays great foundation for their future relationship development. Plus, sexy swordfight, Hook going out of his way to save Aurora’s heart--he may be a pirate, but he has standards ok--and Emma realizing Cora can’t remove her heart without her permission? Poetic Cinema
2x11: The Outsider--more of a Killian-centric episode, it shows a lot of Killian at his worst but it’s necessary for his overall character arc and I genuinely love looking back and seeing just how far he managed to come, to the point of eventually even letting go of his (very understandable) grudge against Rumplestiltskin.
2x12: In the Name of the Brother--am I including this purely for Emma&Hook banter in the hospital, and Killian saying ‘hey beautiful’ when he’s lying on the road because he just got hit by a fucking car? You bet I am. Also, go to youtube and look up ‘ouat season two deleted scene jello’, because it’s beautiful and there was a tremendous outcry in the fandom when we realized it had been cut from the episode lmao (It’s also the episode that made me start shipping Frankenwolf, which I’m still sad never went anywhere, but they had a lot of potential and great chemistry.)
2x22: And Straight On Till Morning--A few of the episodes in between have some fun minor interactions and flashbacks (and I always approve of episodes where Killian gets one up on Rumple, so 2x15 is fun for me if i ignore all the Neal bits) but the finale is where we finally get a glimpse of who Killian could be beyond his need for revenge. He didn’t have to come back, he didn’t have to bring back the bean and help the town--but he did.
Season 3a: there’s a lot of really good stuff here for Hook and Emma that is interwoven between the A plots of other episodes. I think, as far as half-season arcs go, it’s one of the best (and everything after 4a bombed hard, but I digress) But there are a few episodes that stand out if you don’t want to watch the whole season. (I recommend starting with the premier though, it was a really solid season starter overall.)
3x05: Good Form--this is the culmination of David’s poisoned-by-dreamshade arc, and is also Peak Captain Charming Bromance. Hook not only keeping David’s secret, but doing everything he can to help save him??? Poetic cinema. It also provides some crucial Killian backstory, showing how he lost his brother to the very same dreamshade. Plus, the character development--Pan offers Killian a chance to escape the island with Emma if he kills David, and instead, he saves him, refusing the deal and damn the consequences. Also also? The first CS kiss which drove the fandom WILD.
3X06: Ariel--not only to I love OUaT’s take on Ariel, but this episode has the infamous Echo Cave scene, which involves a lot of feelsy confessions and Killian being the one to tell everyone that Neal is alive and helping Emma save him despite his own growing feelings for her.....IT’S JUST A LOT AND I LOVE IT.
3x07: Dark Hallow--oh man, I’d forgotten about this episode, but it has Killian and Neal fighting over Emma, which may sound eye-roll worthy, but Emma is allowed to tear them a new one about it and it’s one of the few times she’s allowed to actually???? put her own feelings first so I have to include it here on spec
3x11 and 3x12: Going Home and New York City Serenade--these mark the end of 3a and start of 3b respectively, and it has some amazing shit like Killian vowing never to forget Emma and Emma smiling as she replies, “Good.” And then she and Henry are in New York with their memories completely altered, but Killian shows up because Storybrooke is back and in jeopardy, and he helps Emma get back to her family and her home and, much later, Emma finds out he sold the Jolly Roger to be able to do it and it’s just. It’s beautiful ok.
3x17: The Jolly Roger--there’s honestly not a whole lot in the back half of season 3 (until the CS movie) but of course anything named for Hook is a must-watch, and this is where we get the iconic line I swear on Emma Swan--which is Killian saying he’s in love with her before he even realizes it. We also find out just what he did to Ariel, and his attempts to make amends are what lead to Zelena being able to curse him, so it’s great from a character perspective as well.
The next four episodes round out the end of the season, and there’s a lot of great stuff in them--Hook refusing to get Emma to kiss him, but Emma feeling like she can’t trust him because he didn’t tell her about the curse to begin with, and then kissing him anyway to save his life regardless of the consequences.... but the only ones that are absolutely necessary are the final two episodes.
They are colloquially termed ‘The Captain Swan Movie’ for a reason, after all.
Killian and Emma essentially have an entire Time Travel adventure all to themselves, where they accidentally ruin her parents first meeting and have to fix it so that she’ll even be born, Emma finally getting into the storybook, the pair of them dancing at a ball, Killian rushing to save Emma only for her to get out of the cell herself, because “The only one who saves me is me.” Killian saying “I would go to the ends of the world for her... or time.” Finally fixing the timeline and making it back to Storybrooke and Killian feeling like he doesn’t deserve a place at the table so he doesn’t go inside, but Emma comes out to him anyway and finds out he gave up the Jolly Roger for her, the true start to their relationship...... IM CRYING JUST THINKING ABOUT IT I’M SORRY.
I personally really enjoyed 4a, the Frozen arc was one of the last good half-season arcs of the show, but a lot of people disliked it so it’s really up to interpretation. I don’t have as many Intense Opinions on this season (except hating almost everything about 4b and the queens of darkness arc), but I will say the episodes with good Killian/CS moments are 4x02 (Emma nearly freezes to death, Killian is desperate to save her, Captain Charming teamwork, my heart hurts), 4x04 (Emma asks Killian out on a real date, he tries to get his real hand back from Gold, things go massively awry and he winds up back under Gold’s thumb), 4x08 (Killian tries to save Emma from Gold’s plans), 4x11 (the 4a finale is just great in general), and then..... it cannot be overstated how much I hate season 4b, but 4x15 is the Killian-centric ep where his past with Ursula is revealed and he makes amends to her in order to get her to leave the QoD alliance and it’s great character stuff for him, and then there’s the season 4 finale.
Both parts are worth watching, if only because Deckhand Coward Hook still being a braver, more heroic man than ‘Hero Rumplestiltskin’ warms the very cockles of my heart, and of course the second part of the finale has him helping Henry to save Emma and it’s beautiful and also Emma watches him die for her and it is angsty as FUCK but gods I love it. Here’s where it gets tricky, though--my recommendation is, turn the episode off right after Emma finds Killian back in the present day of Storybrooke and they reunite.
Just turn off the episode there and skip right ahead to the s6 musical episode (Emma and Killian’s wedding ep) and pretend they got married and none of seasons 5 or 6 ever happened. >.> (Although I will say certain parts of the Underworld arc were incredibly feelsy despite how much I overall hated the season: 5x11 (the 5a finale, Killian as the dark one STILL being a better man than rumple, we love to see it), 5x15 (I am not immune to Brothers Jones feelings ok), 5x20 (emma literally takes a True Love Test trying to find a way to save killian, you don’t get more romantic than that--also Killian telling Emma to promise she won’t put her armor back up just because she lost him again??? my HEART), 5x21 (Hook does what he can from the Underworld anyway and zeus sends him back to Emma, they really just said ‘today I will invent romance’ and then Did That)
And then, yeah, just skip to the wedding. It’s beautiful, I enjoyed the music, personally, though I know musical episodes are hit or miss with most people. And if you turn it off when the last musical number starts (after the wedding ceremony, I believe) you can pretend it was the end of the show! =DDD
.....Oh my god I just rambled for years. I HOPE YOU FIND THIS USEFUL, ANON. I 100% support a CS-centered rewatch, their episodes were consistently some of the best across the entire series, and they are truly one of my favorite romances of all time.
