In 2004, 50% of the Indian population was aged 30 years or younger; however, only 35 out of 543 Lok Sabha members (6%) were aged under 35. Nevertheless, the World Values Survey showed that the proportion of people aged 18–24 who identified themselves as "very" or "rather" interested in politics was around 50, an increase of 15% since 1990. To make a difference in the longer term, it is essential that young people are engaged in formal political processes and have a say in formulating today’s and tomorrow’s politics. Inclusive political participation is not only a fundamental political and democratic right but also is crucial to building stable and peaceful societies and developing policies that respond to the specific needs of younger generations. For young people to be adequately represented in political institutions, processes, and decision-making, and in particular in elections, they must know their rights and be given the necessary knowledge and capacity to participate in a meaningful way at all levels... Our young voters should take utmost care to exercise their franchise in the best interests of the nation. The Election Commission is sincerely trying to get more citizens to participate in the democratic process. Educational institutions, NGOs and the corporate sector have also pitched in to encourage our young citizens to vote. For political systems to be representative, all parts of society must be included. When young people are disenfranchised or disengaged from political processes, a significant portion of the population has little or no voice or influence in decisions that affect group members’ lives. GREETINGS EVERYONE, MY NAME IS SAPHAL HARPREET SINGH AND I AM STUDENT OF LAW IN JINDAL GLOBAL LAW SCHOOL AND FROM VERY YOUNG AGE I AM SEEING THE POLITICS FROM VERY NEAR BECAUSE MY FATHER IS A LAWYER AND THREE THINGS JOURNALISM, POLITICS AND LEGAL SYSTEM ARE INTERCONNECTED, BUT IT'S VERY SAD TO ME WHEN ONE DAY I REALIZED THAT I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY YOUTH MATE IN POLITICS AND IF SEEN THEY ARE FROM FAMILY OF POLITICIANS AND THEY CAN BE CALLED AS PRINCELY POLITICIANS.

SO, STARTING WITH 18-40 AGE IS CONSIDERED YOUNG IN CENSUS WHICH CONTRIBUTES 65% POPULATION IN INDIAAND WE CAN’T SEE SOME POLITICIANS FROM THIS YOUNG AGE, BUT QUESTION ARISES WHY?

BECAUSE PEOPLE IN THIS AGE NOWADAYS ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR SELF-DEVELOPMENT RATHER THAN THINKING OF THEIR COUNTRY OR SOCIETIES DEVELOPMENT AND ITS VERY SAD THAT SARDAR BHGAT SINGH, RAJGURU, SUBHASH CHANDER BOSE OR OTHERS ARE NO MORE IN INDIA TODAY THOSE CAN COMMUNICATE A NEW REVOLUTION IN THE MIND OF THE YOUTH OF HIS SENSE AND ENTHUSIASM.

OUR YOUTH IS BUSY IN STRUGGLING FOR THEIR JOBS AND STUDY IN WHICH THEY FORGOT WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG IN LIFE SOME CHOOSES PATH OF MIGRATION TO OTHER COUNTRIES AND SOME TO MIGRATION THROUGH ILLEGAL WAY AND SOME TO DRUGS BUT NO ONE TO POLITICS AS I TOLD YOU ABOUT 65% YOUTH POPULATION AND OUR MEDIAN AGE OF INDIA IS 29 YEARS BUT ONLY 12% MPs IN PARLIAMENT ARE BELOW 40.

YOUTH IS MIGRATING TO OTHER COUNTRIES AND LOSING INTEREST IN VOTING LIKE IN PUNJAB 2022 ELECTIONS 9,30,406 VOTERS WERE TO BE REGISTERED BUT ONLY 2,78,969 YOUTH REGISTERED AS VOTING DUE TO MOVING TO ABROAD OR OTHER REASONS. AS PER REPORTS ONE LAKH YOUTH MIGRATES FOR ABROAD EVERY YEAR FROM STATE AND WHICH IS 400% RISE IN LAST 2 YEARS.

IF WE TALK ABOUT INCREASE OF YOUTH IN POLITICS THERE SHOULD BE EDUCATION OF POLITICS TO EVERY YOUNGSTER IN COLLEGE THERE MUST BE ONE LECTURE IN WEEK TEACHING INDIAN POLITY AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS BECAUSE AS SOMETIME I ASK

FROM MY FRIENDS ABOUT EVEN FULL FORM OF MLA OR MP THEY ARE UNAWARE ABOUT THAT AND THIS MUST BE TAKEN ON PRIORITY BY NEW GOVERNMENT OR MINISTRY OF EDUCATION. EVERY POLITICAL PARTY MUST MAKE RESERVATION OF40% SEATS FOR YOUTH QUOTAAND YOUTH SHOULD START ASKING QUESTIONS FROM POLITICIANS AND MUST RAISE OUT THE ISSUE GOING NEARBY THEIR LOCALITY AND ONE THING ALL YOUNG PEOPLE INTERESTED IN POLITICS MUST MAKE ACCOUNT ON RTI ONLINE GOVERNMENT WEBSITE AND ASK VALID QUESTIONS FROM GOVERNMENT THAT IS YOUR FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT.

CONTINUING THIS I WOULD LIKE TO THANK HON'BLE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA WHICH GAVE A HISTORIC ORDER FOR PEOPLE OF INDIA TO KNOW THEIR CANDIATE’S CRIMINAL RECORD AND PUBLISH THEM ON THEIR SOCIAL MEDIAAND TV CHANNELS BECAUSE IN PUNJAB 2022 THERE WERE 25%(315) CANDIDATES WITH CRIMINAL CASES AND 17%(218) ARE HAVING SERIOUS CRIMINAL CASES SUCH AS MURDER OR RAPE.

AT LAST I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT INDIA’S TRADITIONAL POLITICAL PARTIES MUST SET EXAMPLE LIKE FRANCE IN WHICH A LAW STUDENT TYPHAINE DEGOSIS BECAME YOUNGEST MEMBER PARLIAMENT. IF PEOPLE SAY POLITICS IS NOT EASY YES IT'S NOT EASY BUT EASY THAN BEING AN IAS OFFICER BECAUSE IN INDIA THERE ARE 4926 IAS

OFFICERS AND LAKHS OF ASPIRANTS AND 4215 MLAs BUT ASPIRANTS ARE FEW HUNDREDS, SO GET INSPIRED FROM KANHAIYA KUMAR, GAUTAM SETH AND RAGHAV CHADHAAND GET INTO IT STAY CLEAN AND GIVE PATH TO OTHERS BECAUSE:-
