Next time you’re hearing something so indubitably wrong (no one likes me, I’m disgusting, etc etc YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN) take a step back and remember that I love you, I think you’re gorgeous, and that I would always want you around no matter what. Your narration is wrong if it’s being negative to yourself. You need some character development and you’re gonna develop into a loved and confident person.

Cool Asks for Writers Answers

Answers under the cut, because it’s pretty long.

1. Describe yourself how you would describe a character you’re introducing:

Sitting in the corner of the couch at Starbucks was a small, hunched figure. The light from their laptop was reflecting in their honey brown eyes as they frantically typed. Suddenly, they sat up straight and ruffled their short, wavy brown hair before cracking their neck to both sides. With a satisfied sigh, they fixed their black tank top and blue-grey sweater before placing their laptop on the table in front of them. Standing up, they shook out their black jean clad legs before walking to the ordering counter.

“Can I get a vinti ice chai latte, 8 pump chai, no ice?” Their voice, when they spoke, was soft as wind chimes and just as melodic.

“Okay! Name?”

“Jesi.”

2. Is there any specific ritual you go through while/before/after your writing?

I re-read whatever my rp partner has written about 3 times to make sure I know what I’m replying to, then check back while I’m writing, then again after. If I’m writing my ‘book’, I read over my legend a few times and check back often. I also like to clean before I start writing, and that makes the writing process take a while xD

3. What is your absolute favorite kind of fic to write?

I haven’t written fanfics in a long while, but I used to like writing hp Drarry fanfic the most.

Outside of fanfics, I prefer writing fantasy, either modern setting or in a world of my own/my rp partner and I’s creation.

4. Are there any other fic writers you admire? If so, who and why?

Oh gods um I don’t really remember names of authors but there’s a lot of them I admire. >.< I like saucefactory‘s writing. They’re awesome. 10/10 would recommend. They just have a way with words that hits you, man.

. 5. How many words can you write if you sit down and concentrate intensely for an hour?

I don’t know how many words, but I can get out 8 or 9 paragraphs? IDEK I haven’t timed that yet. Adding it to my list, though.

6. First fic/pairing you wrote for? (If no pairing, describe the plot)

Bleach, Ichigo/Hallow Ichigo.

7. Inspiration, time, or motivation. Choose two.

Inspiration and time.

8. Why do you choose to write?

I like sharing stories with people. I also, for roleplays, enjoy creating with people. I love it.

9. Do you ever have plans to write anything other than fic?

I’m currently creating a legend and writing a book about a genderfluid necromancer! It’s supposed to be the first of a set of three, following three different people in the same world who all, in some way, know each other.

10. What inspires you the most?

Witchy clothes, rocks, and spells. Also, when my friends let me rant to them about my ideas.

11. Weirdest thing you’ve ever written/thought about writing/etc.?

I once wrote a 2 chapter story about a puppet who kills people but falls in love with a teenager and kidnaps him after killing his parents.

12. A fix you wish you had written better, and why?

the fic I mentioned above, because I like the idea of it, I just wish I’d gone farther with it. I might clean it up and continue it.

13. Favorite fic from another author?

oh gods. Um. Xerosis. I reread it all the time. And Onyx Snow, but that was taken down ages ago. Now all I have is the copy I saved to my laptop.

14. Your favorite side pairings to put in?

Blaise/Luna, and/or Draco/Neville, depending on who I have Harry with. If Harry is with Tom, I have both. ^-^

15. Your guilty writing pleasure?

I don’t really have one?

16. Do you have structured ideas of how your story is supposed to go, or make it up as you write?

Both, I think. I have a basic structure, but if little things deviate it’s all good.

17. Would yo describe yourself as a fast writer?

gods no.

18. How old were you when you started writing?

11? Or 12. IDK. it’s been a while.

19. Why did you start writing?

I actually started with writing poetry when I was upset, because it helped calm me down.

20. 4 sentences from your work that you’re proud of

“ Elric tried to keep his own grief in check as Naz spoke of his old rider, knowing that Sashin had, quite often, told him similar things. None of the other riders had ever told him if their dragons felt the same, but that was, most likely, because he was their leader before he was their friend. Sashin thought that they felt ashamed that their dragons did not believe in the war as they should. A silly thing to think, as even Elric did not want to be fighting this war.”

I hit over 100 followers! I know that may not be a lot to some of you magnificent people, but before I started writing DA fanfiction, I had like fifteen. I see some occasional posts talking about how the DA fandom is crazy and maybe it is, but I’ve never seen it because literally all of you are amazing and compassionate and I love you all!
