idk if she counts as an OC, but could we hear some stuff about Lilis mom?
Okay, I'm going to go with Tansy. Tansy, my absolute beloathed.
So she was originally made because I wanted to give Lili parental issues that weren't related to Truman (this was before I read the Li-Po document). I was also thinking about how Lili might be ethnically because there was discussion around the characters at that time (Raz being Romani who has his nose and eye rings jacked up... Adam being a British black guy who a lot of people's headcanons seem to slight towards more black US citizen... and I notice a lot of people don't draw Lili with her almond shaped eyes.)
So Tansy was made to be Lili's disapproving mother who uses her own Chinese descent to tell Lili that she should be looking out for her blood family rather than her adoptive family (Tansy being a woman who doesn't practice what she preaches).
Tansy is a socialite who lives along the east coast of the country that the Psychonauts mainly takes place in. She is one who believes that Lili should only care about her looks, being mature, and later marrying a rich man. She divorced Truman shortly after she gave birth to Lili, hoping that his psychic powers wouldn't pass on to Lili, but during the divorce's process, Lili's powers began to show with both flowers and fire, meaning Truman has custody of Lili for summers and every other holiday, while Tansy gets her for school and the rest of the holidays.
Tansy is not above physically disciplining Lili, to the point of even using a vanity cane on places she knows won't show. She will try to resort to emotional manipulation first and foremost though. Saying things like: "Look what you made me do," and "I only want what's best for you."
The Psychonauts KNOW of Tansy's choices and Lili goes through a lot of having to defend her mom from the people she's grown up with. Milla Vodello is especially one who cannot stand to be near Tansy, though Tansy has to constantly make jabs at every single person she sees beneath her.
Such as with Milla: "No wonder she's wearing such garbage if she sees you everyday." And the MOMENT she meets Raz she insists on calling him: "Fleabag."
Everyone is really wanting to attack her, but with societal repercussions and Lili's refusal to reveal the abuse they can't do much. Until the old people and Aquatos are around because they both like Lili, and they know injustice when they see it, with a more "fight first, ask questions later," (particularly Bob Zanotto with his Great Niece, and the Aquatos are more quick to act than think).

Hehehe! Another night without sleep but another story to write! (even tho it's not night-) here you go @doodle17
It had been weeks since Oleander came with his question, but Loboto couldn't get his mind off it, no matter how hard he tried. It stuck in his brain like an infection, spreading to all parts of his mind. What would Raz think if he knew? He can't know.
"Out of all the places for psychic brain farming, why did it have to be the summer camp?.." Cal thought to himself while looking over the plains Coach drew up.
"Hey papa!" Razputin said while running over to give his father a hug. "What ya up to?"
"O-Oh!" Cal scrambled to hide the plain from his son's sight, he also tried his best not to think about it either so he couldn't read his mind. "Just some work plains! I was trying to find another treatment for Gloria, but you know how hard it can be. Anyways, enough about that, what have I told you about sneaking away from camp at night?" Cal glared at his son, trying to change the subject.
"To not do it unless it's an emergency I know I know, but this time I really do have a problem!"
"Which is?"
"I can't sleep." Raz said with a smile, which his father couldn't help but return.
"What are we going to do with your Razputin?" Cal asked his son.
"Love your son." He replied.
Cal let out a small laugh before taking Raz to bed, then handing him over to the lung fish to take him back to his cabin.
--------------------------------
Later that night, Loboto went to talk with Oleander. He knew he had to turn down working for him, for not only his son's but all the campers safety.
"Loboto, so nice to see you. How do the plains look?" Oleander said while pouring a small shot of whiskey.
"The plains look fine, while I'm more worried about at the current moment is how you got alcohol in a summer camp." Cal said, turning down a shot.
"Eh, when you work here, you know how to sneak a few things in."
"Whatever, I came to tell you that I can't do this! All this is cruel to the children, and as a father myself I can't be!-" Loboto was quickly cut off.
"Listen Cal, I get that you don't want to do this. But think of all the good it can do at the same time, we can wipe out those who think psychics should be 'fixed' in one way or another. You won't have to worry about the danger that they could bring to, oh what was his name again? Gaz?"
"Raz.." Cal corrected, intrigued by what the coach had to say.
"Right right, but Raz could be safe from people like them, you wouldn't have to home school him out of worry that something might happen, you wouldn't have to worry about exposing him to the world because of people like them. We can get rid of them all, how does that sound?" Oleander said, taking a sip of his shot while looking up at Loboto.
Could this be real, could they really do it? If they did, then Raz could see everything he ever wanted. He could be free from staying at home or camp all day and night. He could be happy.
".. ok, fine, I'll do your plan Oleander, but keep my son's brain out of it."
"Fine by me Cal, you got yourself a deal." Oleander said with a smirk. "You should head back, it's late and we have work to start tomorrow."
--------------------------------
The summer was almost over, only two more days of camp, everything was going along fine now. The tanks powered by brains, great. Cal making sure his son never found out, also great. Now, how to get the brains without harming the kids.
"Oh no-" Cal thought. "This will be harder than I thought-" Cal sighed while trying to figure out how to do things. Then it hit him, an idea that made his stomach tie itself into a knot. What if he got Raz involved? He hated this idea from the bottom of his heart, but with so little time, he might just have to. But just in that moment, Raz showed up.
"Hi papa! Ready for a fun day of tag and hide and seek before camp is over?" The child looked up at his dad with stars in his eyes.
You see, today was a day where some kids had to head home early, so there was going to be a full day of games for the kids and parents to enjoy. But in the downside, if Oleander and Loboto wanted a decent amount of brains, they had to stike today.
"Yeah, yeah of course. But Razputin, I want to talk with you about something before we start." Cal met his son's gaze, the guilt of what he was about to ask hitting him like a truck.
"Yeah papa?"
Cal took a deep breath. "Razputin, you know I would never do something with the intention to hurt you, or anyone I care about for that matter.."
"Ok?"
"So you'll understand why I need to ask you this.."
"I'm starting to lose the point here.-"
"I need you to help lure the other children into traps to steal their brains to put into tanks that will help make the world safer for you by getting rid of all the anti-psychic people out there!" Cal explained with lighting speed, then taking a moment to catch his breath. "That was a lot to say." Cal looked back at Raz, who had a look of horror and disgust on his face.
"Papa, I love you and everything, but what the actual fuck?!" Raz snapped.
"Raz I!-"
"No! No no no no no! I can't do that! They're my friends! The only ones I've made out of thorny towers and most likely the only ones I'll have since I can't got out into the real world! I won't hurt them like this!" Raz yelled, angry tears starting to form in his eyes.
"But Razputin! Think about all the good it could do! If this works, then we can make it so you can go out into the real world! You can make more friends then you ever would here!" Cal snapped back, his patience wearing thin.
"No! I won't do this for you! Even if what you're saying is true, this is just cruel!" Raz yelled back, the tears that had formed in his eyes just a moment ago starting to fall to the ground as he stared at his dad.
"RAZPUTIN LOBOTO! AS YOUR FATHER I COMMAND YOU TO WORK FOR ME!" Cal yelled, not wanting to let these words slip out, but they had.
His son looked at him with a face full of shock, no glaring, no nothing. He just.. looked at his dad, he never knew he could get that mad. Guess that was mixed in with the mad scientist gig he was in for awhile. Once Cal realized what he had done, the guilty feeling he had just a moment ago resurfaced.
"Raz.. I-I'm so-"
"Save it.. I get that your work is more important than me being happy right now" Raz said, looking down at the ground before running off into the words.
"Razputin!.." Cal called out, which Raz ignored.
--------------------------------
"Raz! Razputin where are you?!" Cal called out, trying to find his son anywhere.
It had been hours since Raz ran off, the sun was setting and kids were heading home except for a few. All the games have been packed up and put away, and things were starting to close down at the camp.
Cal walked through the forest, pushing a few branches out of his way before coming to a clearing with a river. Odd. Where has he seen this before. No time to question that though, because where was Raz, sitting right next to that river of course.
"Raz!" Cal ran over and bent down next to his son, starting to examine him to see if he was hurt. "Are you alright?! No cuts no blood?!"
Raz stayed silent, but he nodded as a response.
"Listen Raz, I'm sorry.. I'm so so sorry for what I said, for what I tried to do.. I just wanted the world to be safe for you, for you to be welcomed into society instead of being cast out from it like I was.."
Raz looked up at his father, willing to listen to him talk, but won't say anything in return.
Cal took a good look around before he began to speak. ".. You know, I never told you how I found you, but I think you're old enough to know now..
"I was walking out here one night, trying to find a new test subject for something, I can't remember what anymore. When I heard you crying. I followed the sound for a long as I could, but in the end, I wound up here. And I saw you in the water that's right in front your eyes, Razputin."
"Really?.." Raz said quietly, almost to the point where you couldn't hear him at all. But Cal did, and he nodded.
"From that point on, you were Razputin Loboto, my one and only child. The one person I love more than anything else.."
"Well if you cared that mush why try to put my friends in death machines?.." Raz groaned.
"I never wanted to Razputin, I wanted to refuse but Oleander got into my head and-"
"Wait, Coach Oleander was behind all of this?" Raz looked at his dad, confused and a little angry. His dad nodded to answer his question.
Raz grabbed his father's had and started to try and drag him. "We need to tell Sasha and Milla!"
Cal didn't want to get the Psychonauts involved but that what's going to happen now, so he followed his son all the way to the two agents, where they explained everything.
Oleander was caught and was going to be released from his job at the Psychonauts but Cal knew he could change, so hee tried to reason with the agents. And to his delight, it worked. Oleander was going to be suspended from his position for a while, but he wasn't going to lose it for good. Although he did need to do some therapy or something to change his ways.
--------------------------------
Once that was all said and done, Raz hugged his dad.
"Sorry for running off Papa.." he said, not bothering to look up at his dad, who smiled while hugging back.
"I'm sorry for going along with Oleander's plan for so long.."
"Yeah you really screwed up there." Raz said with a little laugh.
"I really did." Cal laughed a bit with his son.

Why I am not a fan of the interns from psychonauts 2 in terms of writing
spoilers for most of the game. please play this game it is very good. spoilers begin after the cut. Disclaimer 1: I love this game. If I hated it then I wouldn't be talking about it. I criticize the things i love because I believe in improvement from fair criticism. Disclaimer 2: If you are personally attached to said characters and feel as though you are being attacked by reading this, politely piss off. I don't know you personally, and if you think my opinion on fictional characters is some slight against a random stranger, then you need to touch grass instead of spamming my feed. With this in mind, this is my PERSONAL OPINION as to why i dislike these characters from a writer's standpoint
1- they are pricks. i have been told "hazing is just a normal rite of passage!" hazing is a dick move created as an excuse to prank newbies. I don't care how many fond memories you have of your frat house: hazing is something only assholes contribute to. and you know what else is a dick move? bullying a 10 year old kid for no reason. it is very normal for teenagers to group together with people that are the same as them, so i can believe this is a group of snobby little shits. If being bullies was the intended purpose of their characters I would be fine, but it conflicts with the story the writers want to tell. which brings me to my next point
2- We barely get any time for them to develop at the beginning of the game they are introduced as a group of little shits who bully kids for no reason. not great but i can forgive giving characters flaws so they progress. People like that do indeed exist. the problem: they don't seem to learn anything and they just randomly decide Raz is their friend during the casino mission. (and then later randomly shown up to save the day at the end even though they were missing most of the game) "don't forget how i taught you how to grind rail raz!" what???? you didn't teach us anything! you barely talk to us skateboard kid! Raz knew how to do that at the summer camp! and like, this scene is very cool. the artistic style and the characters popping up like comic book panels but none of that matters cus i have no reason to like any of these kids. "but Raz proved himself that he is capable during the lady luctopus fight so they respect him!" thank you for pointing that out obvious straw man I created to make up for my shitty argument skills. but the thing is: just because these kids were proven wrong does not equal character development. They didn't learn anything other than to not mess with Raz specifically. Which:
3- If you asked me their names, I can't tell you who is who other than sam (and we will get to her later) let me describe these characters to you -skateboard kid -kid who is in a really cool lawn chair hover thing -kid who got all of her clothing by stealing from construction workers and rodeo cowboys -the other bitchy one but with a beanie. - darius rucker with a yoyo -and sam. this shit is all i know from these characters. At best I know traffic stop clothing kid and the other one are sisters, but i literally only know that because Raz randomly pointed it out. (and personally, i think those two are the most unlikable of them all) "ah you probably hate them because they are teenagers" listen man. I am an original homestuck fan back when the main cast consisted of 13 year olds. The characters ages do not matter to me, but rather how interesting they are. in Psy 1 the campers were full of personality and depth, BUT they didn't shoehorn them in expecting them to suddenly be all buddy buddy with raz. They were designed as fun background characters, and they served their purpose. The interns problem is that they have the personality of very boring background characters, but they are not given enough time to develop as characters and are expected to be treated like a main characters. We spend all of our time with the Psychic 6 and not them (and i fucking love those guys!) the Psychic 6 are the ones we spent our time with. THEY are the real main characters because we understood their struggles and got to learn about them. I was closet to THEM because i spent time with them. I feel as though most of the interns were shoehorned in to appeal to a younger audience ok now we can talk about sam
4- I think sam is only interesting because she is attached to Dogan (please don't kill me i promise i am going somewhere with this) If you don't know, sam is basically the explodey head kid's sister. She has personality because she is attached to the most wholesome man of all time, and the weird kid from the first game with murderous tendencies. As a result of this, Sam has to be just as weird as her family members to make sense. I guess her character wouldent change if you removed her familial status with the Boole family, but also consider sam is basically pinkie pie. and Mable pines. And Molly McGee and basically every single quirkyyyyyy overly energetic female character in media with animal abuse sprinkled on top for comedy. there is nothing wrong with this. I think sam is fun too. But also she stands out like a real person in a room full of mannequins, mostly because her friends have the personality of mannequins. The poor writing of the rest of the interns essentially makes sam worse by the law of association because sam is grouped with these losers. in case you are curious, the "where did you get the milk" line cracks me up every time. poor Raz needs a hug.
5-They overplayed agent Forsythe a little bit too much and that does not help the interns in contrast. first: i love Raz's arch about learning not to affect peoples brains like it's nothing. It gave me emotional whiplash because i played the first game right before this game, but the games have a 16 year gap between each other and times have changed. I won't blame the game for that, AND the whole "mental health is a serious issue" grew on me. very good story this game has. Point is: Raz's consent arch was a really good thing for his character. but also agent Forsythe is kind of a bitch. first: your two agents brought you a kid who is enthusiastic about the psychonauts and your immediate instinct is to put him up with the mailroom clerk as his mentor? really? Thinking Cruller is a fucking nut and not validating Raz's honorary psychonaut status? yeah fair. she has no reason to think Ford isn't batshit insane. Getting on Raz for being late to class? also fair. She is a very strict teacher and needs to instill onto her kids that punctuality is important. but then some things rub me the wrong way. like you are an adult, how come you are letting these kids bully Raz? surely you saw the footage on the security cams? Or how come Raz got blamed for invading her thoughts when it was the interns that shoved him into it? How come you are targeting the kid for this and not everyone else who was involved in this? lets give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she didn't know about those things. Raz's story about him apologizing and learning from his mistake was still very good. Then sasha and Raz have a very charming fatherly moment about learning when to bail from a dangerous situation. made me smile. but then after all that emotional drama, you then talk to her and raz apologizes AGAIN and the emotional drama tries to continue. Lady you already had a talk to Raz about consent, why are you making him explain himself again out in the open? He is 10 years old and already learned his lesson, chill the fuck out.
and then later on she implies that she thinks Raz is the mole just because his family is from a fallen country related to the current issue. I understand not liking Raz, but is the racist remarks necessary? Do you seriously think some random kid kidnapped the head of the psychonauts? I know it is a serious issue but come the fuck on the kid barely knows how shapes work. i know this is about the interns, but Forsythe rubs me the wrong way and i feel like she is the reason why these brats are the way they are. I feel like she makes my distaste for the interns worse because she comes off to me as a sad fuck who targets kids to fuel her fragile power tripping ego. her level was good, and her arc with Raz was good, but she could use a bit of retooling. I feel as though I can forgive her nastier flaws if she acted more like an adult and gave the teenagers the same amount of lip she gave Raz. Perhaps if she had stepped up the interns would be more likeable because they and raz could have a nice bonding moment over their mistake. Tldr: Forsythe needed to act like an ADULT and discipline the interns just as much as she did raz instead of enabling them.
Overall, the interns are poorly written and I dread seeing them on screen. I am not attached to them in the way i am attached to the Psy 6. The story of Helmet and Bob touched my heart, Agent Boole's mission about social anxiety related to me personally, the story of Cassiopea coming to terms with her past and identity issues, Learning about ford's mistakes and the trauma he collected, everything! I love these characters! I guess the lesson is that just because a character is superficially the same as you, does not mean they are relatable. I am in my 20's. I am not a teenager anymore, but I am not elderly either. I am actually closer to the interns in age than i am to the Psy 6. And yet I relate to the Psy 6 more because these are human beings that i have grown to know and learn about. I am a girl who plays videogames. Shocker I know. and I have seen debates about "we need this and this and this or else i can't relate to the character!". There is not a lot of female characters in media and i agree that it would be nice to be represented more. but a character being the exact SAME as you does not equal relatability. I am not a grandfather with a tendency to make people explode, but i relate to Bool because we both share in our self judgement issues and the struggle to not want to hurt people with your personal problems. We have nothing in common physically, but we share in our struggles. and that is why the interns failed as characters when the Psy 6 succeeded. please don't spam my inbox about how much you disagree with me and how much you actually like the interns. this is just my opinion with writing advice sprinkled in it, much like Sam's personality.

hi, bit of a rant ahead
i wanna talk about the obvious so let's get that out of the way i guess
yeah i DID enjoy the evil jay angst a lot. i mean cmon just the fact that it like. was There yknow. obsessed with nya just taking the blows because she didnt wanna hurt him. absolutely iconic classic 10/10 trope that i did lose it over. but thinking it over it felt a bit. anticlimactic?
i think the whole appeal of an evil jay was that he has (had at least, it fell off a bit in wildbrain) a very charming and goofy personality, which we can see carried over when he lost his memories in the form of sarcasm and wit already!! and that is a very appealing and fun thing to see in a villain. so i'm a bit confused why he just kinda lost all that and became a blank basic blunt mad guy under raz. (i mean, maybe that's the point? there's something to say about him losing all his personality when choosing to shatter his goodness? man idk.) he was saying things that didn't make sense and confused me quite a bit.
like why the heck was he saying stuff like he hated nya when he didnt even know her?? even if it was because he was p much possessed, that was still HIM, yknow? no memories jay doesnt know who she is right? alright. you can't tell me it wouldn't go down more like him finding intrigue in the girl taking him down, even if raz lied to him about her. (super minor nitpick, but i kinda dislike that we dont know those details either. did he just tell jay the ninja would lie to him? or did he go into deeper detail and say nya would try to manipulate him into believing that they were partners?)
i don't have gripes with the lack of jay screentime! because i trust the writers to build it into hopefully the best arc we get in the show. but slip ups like this that i am not too fond of chip my trust off a little. still looking forward to the sibling journey that appears to be ahead of us in season 3. i will stay tuned.
on a couple more notes, the arin betrayal seems completely convoluted TBH. like what his best friend of many years is suddenly his enemy because she wanted to lift his morale, even if in a faux way? and what do the ninja have to do with wu causing the merge??? why does he just ASSUME it wasn't an accident?? its not like the betrayal came out of NOWHERE, i was excited to see what they'd do, but the execution did absolutely disappoint me. him suddenly caring that much about bringing his parents back was pretty last minute and felt like a new thing this season, i mean sure he missed them before, but to be so desperate as to leave the ninja for it? it's off for sure.
anyways, stuff i liked was pretty much whenever nya is on screen because as dragons rising goes on the more i fall in love with her, sora and jordana's whole debacle, and wyldfyre was SO entertaining. her and roby are so so fucking cringe and i mean this with all the affection in my heart. like okay girl.... follow your heart i guess, even if it leads you to the stang zoot
clicks tongue chat ima be fr. this season was mid as hell

Confession
Raz : Coraline.
Coraline : Yea ?.
Raz : Do you ever feel like you have found someone special ?.
Coraline : Not really. I haven't been with anyone since Dipper.
Raz : Do you ever catch feelings for a friend after spending a lot of time together ?.
Coraline : To be honest. Yes.
Raz : I have caught feelings for a friend aswell and i needed you're help because i wanted to ask her out but i haven't had the courage.
Coraline : Razputin not having the courage to ask a girl out ?. I thought I'd never see the day.
Raz : Could you help me ?.
Coraline : Sure. Just be yourself Raz.
Raz : How do I ask her out ?.
Coraline : Tell her how you feel. She'll love it
Raz : Okay. Coraline. These last few weeks have been amazing and its because I was spending my time with you. Not once have I left you're side and it will never happen. At first I thought you were just one of those girls who had a big ego but as we hung out more and more I realized that you weren't all rock and bratty. You were actually a really nice girl I just had to get to know you more and so I did and now I actually enjoy you're company. You were there for me throughout Lili and I's relationship and when it came to an end that's when I saw the Coraline that i never thought I'd see. These last few weeks have made me realize that the girl I love was always by my side no matter what. Even if you're a human. You're strong. Brave. Bold. Selfless......Sometimes. And you places others before yourself. You really are amazing.....And I wouldn't have you any other way. So I have to be honest here. Coraline Jones I love you. I can't live without you. Will you go out with me ?.
Coraline : Raz.....Yes
Raz : You said yes !.
Coraline : I thought yes but still the same thing. And that whole speech was amazing to listen to.
Raz : You told me to pour my heart out. So I did.
Coraline : I can't compete with a Psychonaut. Remember when I said that?.
Raz : It was after we all fought Dr Loboto.
Coraline : Ugh. Don't remind me Raz.
Raz : You didn't have kick him.
Coraline : Hey. Mess with my friend and you get kicked into next year !.
They both laugh as Coraline kisses Raz on his cheek then she hears the ice cream truck and she looks at Raz with an excited expression.
Raz : Oh. Go on then. My treat.
Coraline : Yay ! I love you Razputin !.
Raz : I love you to Coraline. Consider this our first date.

do one for raz 👀
@spearitsandmonsters also asked this so this is for you both!
Why I like them: god what is there Not to like about this kid? he's so sweet and kind and has this cool air about him, plus the fact that he's not just into psychic stuff but also into art and Heavily into psychology in a way you can tell he's been researching it a Lot in his spare time (though some he could've picked up from his true psychic tales comics.) - all for the benefit of other people. and tbh, his love for psychology is smth i can relate to a Lot, it's smth i've been fascinated in for years, which has... probably seeped into my writing a fair bit kjdhgh i love how mature he is for his age but how well you can see he's still ten in how the writer's portray him handling some stuff and how he thinks (which, well, not a lot of writers can write kids well tbh.). i also love how mischievous and witty he can be too, there's just... so much to him that speaks out to me honestly, he's the best
Why I don’t: well,,, the fact that he hurts animals in 1. but it's rectified in 2 anyway
Favorite part of the game: ooh man, the meat circus honestly. it's so chaotic and freaky, but also... damn heartbreaking at points. the thing that will always stick in my mind is the voice hollowly echoing raz's name..... (which. turned out to be his dad but, god, did it make this level all the more freaky and nerve-racking)
Favorite game: mann i'd say it's a close tie between the rhombus of ruins and 2. both of them are Great fun (to watch for ruins since, well, i can't play it as it's vr dkhskh)
Favorite line: "Home? Back there I was just like you were, Dogen--punished by my own family for having powers I never asked for. But here, I have a chance to be something. To make a difference." i also like "Why don't you come alight on my shoulder - jerk." as he watches the bird fly off djksgjkg always gets me
Favorite outfit: hmmm i'd say i prefer his outfit more in 2 than 1?? just by a little tho
Brotp: all of the agents tbh. i think him and sasha have the best relationship but yeah, there's not one i wouldn't say isn’t good. same for the thorney tower residents too and what i've seen of the psychic six so far. he just, does his best for so many and who end up caring about him in return for it that it's hard to pick
Head Canon: much like his goggles are there to protect his eyes from harm, he feels safer with his aviator hat on than off most of the time which is why it's p rare to see him without it (plus he thinks it looks cool)
A wish: for another game some time honestly
5 words to best describe them: smart, impulsive, precocious, compassionate and resolute
My nickname for them: iii don't really have nicknames for characters really. so i just go with plain ol' raz

Dragon Rising
Power's out so I wrote Esra telling Raz and Ayrenn about the dragon threat to Elsweyr. It goes about as well as you might expect. I love Raz very much that is all.
The hustle and bustle of Vulkhel Guard was a faint murmur behind the walls of the Temple of Auri-El, where Ayrenn's meeting with her two most trusted Eyes was taking place. A secret chamber behind a statue of the chief High Elven deity, sparsely furnished and seldom used, played host to the clandestine affair.
In the flickering torchlight, Ayrenn addressed the Bosmer who stood uncomfortably at attention. "Esra, why the need for this much security? Half a dozen Marines outside and another half dozen inside, including the Battlereeve himself - what is going on, my friend?"
It was true, since the threat of the Veiled Heritance had been taken care of, Ayrenn was seldom attended by so large an accoutrement - it had taken all of Esra's stubborn insistence to convince the Battlereeve to accommodate her request. Well, demand, really.
"Yes, even Raz is not this cautious, dear one. What troubles you?"
Checking that the false stone wall was indeed closed completely, Esra removed her cowl and hood and sat on one of the available chairs.
"Dragons, your majesty. In Elsweyr." Silence. Only the crackle of the torch and the collective breathing in the cramped room made any noise until Ayrenn laughed out loud.
"Dragons? You did all this to talk about old legends and stories? Dragons have been gone for thousands of years, Esra. I appreciate a joke as much as anyone but I have things to do here!"
The black-haired Bosmer shook her head solemnly, eyes trained on the floor. "I wish it was a joke, Ayrenn. I saw them myself. Dozens, maybe more. Tharn and I, we..."
"Tharn? Abnur Tharn?"
"Yes - he contacted me about finding something that could end the war, I know I didn't tell you, and I'm sorry about that, too - I… I went to make sure he didn't do something stupid but…" A deep sigh punctuated the sentence. It was stupid, so stupid to think Abnur had found some innocuous weapon to threaten the Alliances with, to make them cooperate that wouldn't also threaten the entire world. "By the time he told me what his entire plan was, the door was open and… it was too late. Even Tharn didn't know there would be dragons behind it."
"We met a speaker of the Mane, she helped us beat the Euraxians there but… we just weren't fast enough. I… the fault is mine. I'm sorry, but I must go to Elsweyr and help, somehow. Whatever I can do - stop the dragons, stop Euraxia… I'd like your permission, but I'm going with or without it, your majesty."
Raz, who had been silent, spoke up. "Raz will go, too - with your permission, Queen Ayrenn. This one's family… Raz would like to be with them. And with Esra." He moved behind Esra and laid a hand on her back. "It is where this one belongs."
Ayrenn's face remained featureless as she looked between the pair. "So  I am to be without my most trusted Eyes once again? While they face… dragons." A hand grasped the hilt of her sword tightly, lifting it only marginally from its sheath. "I long to draw steel with you, my friends, but I must remain here - and I cannot spare you much in the way of reinforcements."
"I understand, your majesty."
Taking a step forward, and taking Esra's hands in her own, Ayrenn smiled sadly. "Good luck, my friend. Make sure you come back - both of you. I can't be without my Eyes."
Esra and Razum-dar left the secret room first, nodding at the Battlereeve and the Marines to dismiss them.
Raz grabbed Esra's arm before she reached the door, now that the Temple was empty but for them. "Esra… dragons?" His green eyes were wide with worry, and fear. She hated it.
"Dragons, Raz."

@ckingsbury1967
It has many names Eyn Sof, Ohr Raz, Azathoth, Anasi, The Spider Mother. It sits in its web at the center of the universe watching everything.
I should know, I am from it. It tastes all the worship fed to it, all the gods power come from it. The silver strings coming from its swollen body push its power outward. The power is much like starlight, weaker it gets from the source.
Many of the races have different ideas for why it made the universe. Some say it was because it was a thing of vanity and universe was spoken into existence to worship and entertain it. Others say,  universe was spoken  to make it look inward and explore itself more. Some even think, the universe was spoken on a whim, it has no interest or care for everything. It merely keeps the universe  around because it forgot it existed.
In truth the universe was spoken into existence while it dreamed, a reflection of its dreams. A mirror to understand itself with. Past universes according to it had began with a specific intention. This one had began on accident and it decided this one would help it understand itself. And in this one it wouldn't be removed, it would walk its creation. Do diary entries of each day of its journey.
So in a way, all of the theories are right. You're probably wondering how I know all of this, am I one of its heralds? Am I it?
No, I am of it, I am its child. It has many, they are always crawling over each other and on our parent.
Our parent can't or doesn't wish to control when any of our siblings appear. Our eggs are pushed to the surface of its body and we must tear our way out.
It's survival of the fittest, we all start out weak and sickly. If we don't find a way to survive our parent or bigger siblings will eat us.
Most of us never make it past the nest, too weak and scared to leave our parent's safety.
But some of us can be saved, I was. My oldest sister found me and took me in. She taught me everything I know.
I love her, I truly do but the things she dreams of are childish. We will never be free of our parent. We can go nowhere where it can't see us.
Some of return the favor and save some of our younger siblings. Sometimes I have them work for me or sell them to people who will have use for them.
But this entry isn't about my family's internal politics.
No, this is about it and how it relates to its creation.
Sometimes it walks the worlds letting itself be swept up in whoever's life it has come across. If this lifeform has impressed it it will offer them a blessing. It will tell them what it is, the nature of the universe. It will ask if they wish to help it like they had before. If the lifeforms say yes it will make make a Gardener depending on their life.
Reapers were individuals who dealt death in their previous life. It is their job to cull its children if they get too be too much of a problem. Sowers were the individuals who dealt with life in their previous life. They act to keep the universe in balance. They speak to the other lifeforms, they act as it's messengers, gently guiding the lifeforms when needed. Lastly, are the Tillers They were thinkers in their past life. They advise the children that have left its nest. They try to keep us from gaining too much of its attention.
From personal experience my siblings and I aren't huge fans of the Gardeners. We see them as stuck up, and spoiled. I will be the first to admit I am jealous of them. They understand and know our parent in a way we were never allowed to.
So far only 7 of us have escaped the nest. I know not what all six of my siblings do with their time. I try to stay away from the lifeforms. I was reckless once and decided to manipulate a lifeforms fate so they'd never be given their birthright of king. Now he heads a genocidal council and craves power in a way that makes me nervous.
My eldest sister, Sadopa wishes to make us a home. She has made an artificial planet far from any of the other lifeforms. I do not find it very appealing but I hold my tongue, for she hasn't asked my opinion.
Then there is Rirevu she acts more like a force than an individual. She bends lifeforms to her will. Last I checked she had subjugated an entire planet and found a way for them to worship her and her alone. Though I suspect our parent still gains the worship through its connection to my sister. The people of this planet call Rirevu their Exarch of The Stars, The Black Death, Their Dark Lord, and their Paragon of Red.
I worry of her plans but our parent hasn't stopped her so I suppose it will all be okay.
I know though when this universe ends so will all of us, it will consume us all, chaining us in its multicolored threads. A tiny part of me feels it will be glorious that that is when I will feel truly alive. That this moment before me, this existence stretching before me is excruciating and agonizing in contrast. But a bigger part of me is terrified and wishes futilely for the inevitable to never come.
I rather be in this state of dread than dead.
~ Excerpt from Dalazo's diary, found in Apollo's archives. Included with what looks like artwork of Sadopa, Rirevu, It and a Reaper.

If you're looking for fic ideas, maybe one of YouTuber Augustus’ streams?
Alright, time for another little fun story. I decided to go in a different style for this one, because... It's a stream, I can't write it as a story.
The Q&A Stream
In which Augustus tries to do a Q&A, Otto moderates, and everything gets derailed repeatedly to talk about giving Queepie a gun.
Username list, for reference.
AquatoGames: Is this thing working? Is this--
PsycastSix, from offscreen: You're live, Gus. Really. Get out there and talk to them.
AquatoGames: I don't know how to present live to a camera, Uncle--
PsycastSix: I do podcasts. I don't know camera stuff.
AquatoGames: Alright, fine. Hello, everyone! It's, ah. Augustus. I've heard people asking for a, ah... "Cue-and-Ay..?"
PsycastSix: Question and answer session.
AquatoGames: Oh. Alright. Um. I suppose the questions are open then? Is that how I do this? I've not done much of this... streaming.
[A pause as he glances at the chat.]
RazzleDazzle: Hi dad!!! RadioHardcore: yoooo is this the thing you wanted us to catch Raz? RazzleDazzle: Yeah!! WhaleOfATime: ( ͡❛ ω ͡❛) hiiiiii PsiKing: Otto let someone into his lab??? that can happen??? :O zanottofullbear0531: Otto is out of the frame is that supposed to happen or did he actually comb his hair for this OneKnitWanda: Augie! Good to see you! You look good!
AquatoGames: Hello, Razputin-- hello, Mama! It's good to see you both as well. Or. Ah. Read you? I think? I'm not sure of the words.
PsycastSix: Go hug a cactus, Bob. I comb my hair enough.
AquatoGames: If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask them in the chat. I'm trying to keep an eye on it.
zanottofullbear0531: what got you into this whole you tube thing? YoYoMaMa: Do you have a favourite game? Sk8erGrl: is dion going to show up on this channel, also hi mr. aquato! queepie says hi but hes not getting on my phone RadioHardcore: id trust him with a phone YoYoMaMa: I wouldn't. SpecialSnowflake: give queepie a gun! he deserves it
AquatoGames: Please don't give Queepie a gun.
PsycastSix: What about a tazer?
AquatoGames: Don't give my children weapons.
PsycastSix: Got it, don't give your kids weapons while you're watching.
AquatoGames, burying his head in his hands: Don't...
PsycastSix: Anyways, you have some questions.
AquatoGames: Right. Ah... Zanotto-Fullbear... What got me into this YouTube thing? I suppose it's more the novelty of it. I wanted to perform, this is apparently a platform suited for it. Apparently my acrobatics are liked to at least some degree here. Thank you for the relatively normal question--
SpecialSnowflake: gonna ask mr oly for a gun to give to queepie. YoYoMaMa: Lizzie, don't. WhaleOfATime: Ooooooh im going with you!!! (︡ᵔ ᵜᵔ︠) BurningPile: Elizabeth I will tell our dad if you give him a gun. SpecialSnowflake: worst sis everrrrr
AquatoGames: Thank you, Norma. Next question-- Do I have a favorite game, from Yo-Yo Mama. Yo-yo Ma, ma? Point is, no. At the moment, I'm still seeing what there is. I've never had much of a chance to try out these before. This is a learning experience for me, mostly!
PsycastSix: Nicely answered, Gus.
AquatoGames: Thank you, Uncle Otto.
BeesidesThePoint: Hello, Augustus. I have a question for you: Are you going to visit for tea with your aunt, Compton, and me later? You're always welcome to join. I wish you luck with this stream, by the way. It's a bit hard for me to keep up, nevertheless. -Cassie fullbearzanotto0531: i think he can tell its you from the grammer cass YoYoMaMa: Hello Ms. O'Pia! BeesidesThePoint: Oh. Also, it's spelled "grammar." Hello, Yo-Yo Ma. YoYoMaMa: No, this is Adam. I just thought the name was funny.
AquatoGames: Sk... Sk-eight-er-- Oh, Skater! Skater-grl asks if my son, Dion, will be on the channel. The answer is... If he wants to be, yes. Tell Queepie I say hello, as well!
PsycastSix: I'm sure he can hear you.
AquatoGames: Oh. Hello, Queepie!
PsycastSix: ...Great job. Well done.
fullbearzanotto0531: i'm going to go. this is getting a bit chaotic... BeesidesThePoint: Oh. Alright, Bob. I'll see you in the Gulch? fullbearzanotto0531: Yep.
AquatoGames: Oh, tea-- When would that be, Aunt Cassie?
BeesidesThePoint: Well.... OneKnitWanda: i'm about to head there soon myself
AquatoGames: I'll cut the stream short, then. Everyone, I'll be back later. Right now, I think that I've been invited to something I should go to.
[Stream ended.]
