Drive-Away Dolls

Arguably the most important representation of the year comes from a movie directed by one of the Coen brothers. Ethan Coen directs this wacky comedy that is very much in style for him.

Synopsis:

This comedy caper follows Jamie, an uninhibited free spirit bemoaning yet another breakup with a girlfriend, and her demure friend Marian who desperately needs to loosen up. In search of a fresh start, the two embark on an impromptu road trip to Tallahassee, but things quickly go awry when they cross paths with a group of inept criminals along the way.

Lost Records: Bloom and Rage

A game had to be added to this list and here it is, the best one. From the creators who gave us Life is strange. Lost Records: Bloom and Rage tells the story of four friends who experience a transformative summer in 1995. After 27 years of no contact, Nora, Swann, Autumn, and Kat are reunited by fate and forced to confront the long-buried secret that made them agree to never speak again all those years ago. From the teaser alone it is obvious at least two of them dated.

Pluto

A Thai gl from GMMTV, known for its successful Thai dramas. The story is the telenovela cliche we've always wanted. Two girls in love. One gets in an accident and her twin takes her place to find out who was behind her accident, the other girl is blind. The twin has to fake being the real one so has to be in a relationship with the blind girl and of course falls in love with her. Match made in fanfic heaven.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

It was announced so long ago people are getting frustrated. However, with both a writer and a director now attached to the project, and the strikes over, we have every reason to believe we will finally get to see the hit novel, that centers the love story between two closeted Hollywood actresses, come to life. Whether you loved the novel or were indifferent and didn't see what the fuss was about, it is a very successful wlw romance and we want to see it on screen!

The Paying Guests

The director that brought us Carol adapting a book by the author of Fingersmith? Yes please!

Speaking to Indiewire, Haynes revealed he’s developing an adaptation of Sarah Waters’ 2014 novel The Paying Guests. “It’s a three-part limited series that would need to be a British production, but it’s a really great novel.” Set in post-WWI London, the drama is part lesbian love story and part murder mystery following a down-and-out widow and her daughter, the latter taking up a relationship with one of their lodgers. Waters also wrote Fingersmith, which was adapted into The Handmaiden by Park Chan-wook.

NCIS Hawaii season 3

One of our favorite pairings of last year, Kate and Lucy are the main couple of their show and they carry it well. They look good together, have progress and evolution in their relationship and have fun working together.

The Secret of Us

Thai channel CH3 is expected to hit us strong with this Thai gl. CH3 is big in Thailand so this one is a big deal. The story is the typical exes meet again trope and it's magnificent. It centers Doctor Fahlada, nicknamed Doctor Angel. She is trying to hide the pain after being abandoned by the woman she loved. But then...by chance that woman comes back into her life.

Whisper Me a Love Song

Our resident anime entry has to be Whisper me a love song. Based on a manga it is the story of Himari Kino. On the first day of entering high school, Himari Kino "falls" for her senior, Yori Asanagi, whom she watched singing with a band at the welcome party for new students. When Himari confesses her admiration to Yori, Yori misinterprets Himari's feelings as romantic love. However, before Yori realizes, she comes to fall for Himari anyway, and promises to win her affections for real.

Bad Sisters season 2

Bad Sisters is one of the best reviewed and hilarious shows on this list. Coming back for a season 2 was inevitable. Bibi, the lesbian sister, will keep entertaining us in 2024.

Station 19 season 7

One of the most enduring shows and wlw couples on TV are coming back for a season 7! That is a lot of seasons but Maya and Carina do still have that spark.

About Galaxy The Series

Part of the gl renaissance that is expected to go full force next year, this series is already hugely popular among Asian romance fans.

The story is that of a woman that sees a girl in her dreams every night only to meet her in real life. While in real life they are friends in her dreams they do much more. She thinks her friend doesn't know about that what she doesn't know is that she also remembers everything they do in their dreams.

Harley Quinn the Animated Series season 5

Another season of our favorite criminal duo Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy? Yes please and thank you. These two, and this particular iteration of them, might be the best representation American television has ever given us.

Chaser Game W

Chaser Game W is the first gl produced by TV Tokyo so it has a historic significance for the advancement of representation for queer women in Japan. First episode airs January 8. Based on manga series "Chaser Game" written by Hiroshi Matsuyama & illustrated by Yukitaro Matsuyama

The story:

synopsis: Itsuki has been working in the "Dynamic Dream" game company for five years and is now appointed as the lead for a big Japanese-Chinese collaboration project, which she is fully motivated to work on. However, it turns out the Chinese company team is led by her ex, Fuyu, whom she one-sidedly broke up with back in university! After breaking up with Fuyu, Itsuki never dated anyone else and chose to focus on her work, all while not coming out to her family and coworkers... But when her ex-girlfriend suddenly appeared in front of her, her feelings immediately started to sway. Meanwhile, Fuyu always resented Itsuki for breaking up with her without saying why. Vigil season 2

The first couple of episodes of Vigil season 2 will technically be shown in December 2023 (in the UK only) but we'll basically be able to watch it beginning 2024 and we're looking forward to it!

Several upcoming TV shows and movies have cast actors that make it obvious they'll have lesbian and bi characters but until we know whether the representation will be enough to be worth watching we're holding off on making that other, more elaborate, list.

For Kim Possible - Ron x Yori. Is it rare? I dunno. I never see it. Maybe it didn't used to be. But maaaaan I think there's SO much incredible character development potential there for Ron. I still think of Ron x Kim as endgame, but...could be interesting to explore the boy figuring out his life without Kim and with someone else for a bit. Ultimately to make him better for Kim. I don't say any of that against Yori, I just don't think she's the one in the end. And I also don't see him dumping Kim for Yori, more a thing of happenstance.

For Soul Eater - This was a hard choice. And I don't want to call a pairing with less attention but clearly an obvious pairing "rare." Like, Ox/Harvar doesn't get much notice but I wouldn't call it rare. So.... here we go. Spirit x Azusa. Hear me out... You've got two extremely driven, hardworking people. They went to school together. You have Azusa who's a bit of a feminist and so would naturally see Spirit's actions in a negative light, since on the surface he appears to treat women as objects at least as a teen, and then there's the drinking too which she likely wouldn't see positively toward academic/career success. Then there's Spirit who is in fact genuinely hardworking despite his faults, and he makes death scythe before her. She probably doesn't think he deserves it. There's also the age difference; Azusa is the youngest (except she's probably older than Sid, but she's younger than Marie and we know Spirit is the oldest so yeah). So Spirit probably did think of her as an annoying bossy tattletale brat. But thinking of them in the anime especially, stuck in the Death Room during those crucial moments... And just her time there in Death City after all those years apart. She'd have gotten to see Spirit shine. He'd have gotten to see her grown up and shining in her role. They're not kids anymore, a lot has changed, and they have so much in common now... This would be a wild one. This one would be hard work. This isn't some fall into lust/infatuation romance. This would be a relationship built on respect over time. But I can see it... There's some great art of this ship on the blog "Illogicat" sorry I can't tag it.

For Kim Possible - Wade Load. He's just the deus ex machina guy. He exists to give Kim a magical way out, and there's nothing else to him... Well, actually I see a LOT of villain potential in him. But in terms of people acting like he's an important main character... Well, yeah, I guess. Kim would have died many times over if not for him. But that's all he does... A quick phone call, magically he's already put exactly what she needs in her backpack without her knowledge somehow for that exact predicament that no one knew she'd be in... Yes, it's a cartoon, this is part of the humor, I get it. But the only real he interest he holds for me are his villainous tendencies that show up at times. But in his assigned role... Sorry, he ain't nothing.

For Soul Eater - Crona comes to mind first... I likely wouldn't have thought so if not for the fandom obsession, but it's like... There's not much to Crona? Crona is sort of a....blank slate. For self-projection. Yeah... All Crona ever seems to get noticed for is "cute when shipped with Maka" and never acknowledged for the things that matter like, abuse by parent/"sibling" and madness (serious, serious mental health issues here) and we could use Crona to talk about those topics in ways that matter. I'm not saying it's not valid to make a ship cute because you like cute, absolutely nothing wrong with that. But there's other issues (I briefly addressed in a prior ask maybe even today actually) and it's just... Crona could be so important. But that's never what I see in fandom. Overrated for the wrong things, underrated for the right things. (And like, the fandom targeting random ppl who haven't read the manga to tell them it's bad cuz you don't like Crona's ending... Come on, fandom.) I'm keeping this extremely brief for the sake of post-length.

🤍 a fandom you’ve only recently discovered?

It's been some months now, but, Psycho-Pass. 😌 I have a Soul Eater crossover fic to thank for this (my GOSH if any characters ever belonged in another universe.... SE chars belong in Pyscho-Pass my GOSH). I'm stalled on season 3 though because there's no dub and I haven't had the energy for the sub in months.... But I've been itching to get back to it and heh I just may have energy now...

Psycho-Pass is an anime crime drama. Pretty gory actually, so for me I do have to look away from the screen at times (also - two SE voice actors star as the main characters!). Each season/movie jumps to a different point in time, but it's all one big connected story in the end. Season 1 is the best (so far) and my goodness... The themes are mature. If you enjoy deeply intellectual shows, you'll enjoy this. It's also a lot of mystery. I like the animation style too, it's really stunning.

The Chanoyu Hyaku-shu [茶湯百首], Part II:  Poem 39.

〽 Fuyu-no-kama irori-buchi-yori roku- nana-bu          takaku-sueru-zo narai nari-keru

    [冬の釜圍爐裏緣より六七分          高く据えるぞ習いなりける].

    “The wintertime kama, from the [upper surface of the] irori-buchi, it should be arranged so it is 6- or 7-bu higher!  This is how [you] should practice [doing it].”

    Fuyu-no-kama [冬の釜] means a wintertime kama, a kama of the sort that is used during the winter -- during the season of the ro.  In other words, to use the modern designation, a ro-gama [爐釜].  This name implies that the kama is large, and was designed to be used (more or less exclusively) in the ro.

    Irori-buchi-yori roku- nana-bu takaku-sueru [圍爐裏緣より六七分高く据える] means the upper edge of the mouth of the kama should be 6- or 7-bu higher than the top of the ro-buchi¹.  As has been mentioned before, the final particle -zo [ぞ] adds emphasis to the verb² that precedes it by underscoring its importance (hence the exclamation point in the translation).

    The reason why this is important is because it makes the handle of the hishaku easier to grasp when the hishaku is resting on the kama, by raising it above the surface of the mats.

    Narai nari-keru [習いなりける] is generally understood to mean “to be done now (nari-keru [なりける]) in (one’s) practice (narai [習い]).”  However, since narai can also mean a custom (customary) or habit (habitual), narai nari-keru could also be understood to include the nuance that this way of doing things should become habitual, should be the usual way of doing something³.

    The oldest versions of this poem have ko-shiki-gama [古式釜] (which means old-style kama) in place of fuyu-no-kama [冬の釜].  The ko-shiki-gama is, today, known as the shin-nari gama [眞形釜], and this is the kind of kama shown below.

    On the left is a kama that was made to rest on the rim of a kimen-buro.  This is traditionally referred to as a kiri-kake kama today, and it was for a kama of this sort (albeit one the bottom of which had been damaged) that Jōō originally created the irori.  The kama on the right has the same general shape, but with the addition of a small projecting flange.  This kind of kama (which is called a ha-gama [羽釜], which means a kama with a projecting flange) was originally brought from Korea during the second half of the fifteenth century.  Since the way the kama fits onto the furo is irrelevant to the present argument (which deals with the way the kama is oriented in the ro), and because the only important thing is the shape of the mouth of the kama (which projects upward higher than the shoulders), the two versions of the poem actually give the same meaning.

³This contradicts the teachings of several of the modern schools, which hold that the line around the side of the kama (where the upper and lower halves of the mold met) should be at the level of the rodan [爐壇] -- resulting in the mouth of the kama ultimately being up to several sun higher than the ro-buchi.  This appears to be another of the teachings that was passed down by Imai Sōkyū, based on what he had remembered Jōō doing during his middle period.  However, as in many similar instances, this reveals a general misunderstanding of Jōō’s way of thinking.

    Jōō appears to have come to the idea of installing an irori in his 4.5-mat room as a specific solution to the way to use a particular kama.  This kama (shown below) had originally been made, as a kiri-kake kama [切り掛け釜] (a kama designed to rest on the rim of something like a kimen-buro), for use on the o-chanoyu-dana [御茶湯棚]* attached to one of the private sitting rooms in the Imperial Palace, during the fourteenth century.  With the arrival of chanoyu in the early decades of the fifteenth century (where tea would be prepared in the room in which it would be drunk, using the daisu), the o-chanoyu-dana fell out of use, with its utensils more often than not languishing without proper care.  In the case of this kama, the century of neglect resulted in its bottom rusting out.  Since the lower part of the sides had also been weakened, it was not possible to simply replace the bottom.  But any more extensive sort of repair could damage the bas relief image of the Imperial paulownia crest.  Confronted with this dilemma, Jōō chose to leave as much of the sides intact as possible, while attaching a new bottom to the inside of the kama near the kan-tsuki (where the original iron was completely sound).  This produced a functional kama, but not one that could be used in the ordinary way (since the irregular edge was neither strong enough to bear the weight of the kama, nor could it be rested on the mouth of a kimen-buro in any case).  So the ro was Jōō’s solution to the problem of how this kama might be used for chanoyu.

    The kitchen kamado [竈] provided Jōō with two possible precedents for how a pot might be suspended over the fire:  one was to hang the kama over the fire on a chain, and the other was to rest the kama directly on the edges of the rodan by means of a projecting flange.  Since Jōō already had a kama which did not have a flange, he adopted the first option.  And the teaching that governs the height of the kama when suspended in the ro appears to have been decided upon at this time -- since this raises the handle of the hishaku  high enough above mat that it can be grasped (from the side) easily -- meaning that there will be minimal disturbance to the kama†.

    But as time went by, the broken edge of this kama continued to chip away as it was used more and more, so Jōō began to worry about its safety‡.  So later, he ordered a kama with a large flange from the craftsmen working at Temmyō, as shown below.

    From the bottom of the flange to the upper edge of its mouth, this kama is the same height as the distance between the upper surface of the rodan and the top of the ro-buchi.  As a result, Jōō intended for the kama to be rested on a pair of wooden blocks that were 6- or 7-bu thick, which would then lift the kama to the appropriate height relative to the top of the ro-buchi.  Apparently Imai Sōkyū was misinformed about the necessity of using these wooden blocks, and that is how the error crept into his interpretation -- since he taught that the flange (and, in kama where the flange has been removed, the seam between the upper and lower halves of the mold) should be at the level of the rodan. ___________ *The o-chanoyu-dana [御茶湯棚] was constructed in an alcove in the 2-mat service area that adjoined a shoin.  The tana itself in part resembled a built-in daisu (the space measured 1-shaku 5-sun deep, and 3-shaku 1-sun 5-bu wide, and so was 1-sun larger than the large daisu on the left, right, and far sides -- which allowed the use of a larger-sized furo and kama, and mizusashi (as can be seen below), such as would be appropriate when serving tea to a large number of people over the course of a day), with additional storage space on one side, in which all of the necessary utensils could be arranged, and tea could be made.  The person preparing tea in this setting was originally a monk (since the job involved potentially hours of doing nothing but waiting for orders to prepare a bowl of tea -- hours which the monk would pass in seated meditation), though often this person proved to be an ordinary underling sporting a shaved head and monkish garb.

    The o-chanoyu-dana, which occupied one wall of the (2-mat) tsugi-no-ma, was never intended to be seen by the people for whom tea would be prepared.  The bowls of tea were conveyed to the guests by the special servants who were charged with acting as intermediaries in cases such as this.

†If the host has to make too much of an effort to pick up the hishaku, he will likely cause the kama to begin swaying, which would be unsettling.  This was the basis for Jōō’s rule -- the rule that is articulated in this poem.

‡Also, the relatively small size of this kama made its use during a gathering for more than a couple of guests difficult.  Thus, a larger kama became desirable.

Introduction

Yorii Sakuma is the third member of the Setagaya Division rap battle team, ENIGMA. He is known by his MC Name, Sireen. A beautiful and charismatic young man with a beautiful and angelic voice, Yorii, despite his young age, is regarded as one of the "Greatest Japanese Singers of All Time". Despite his pleasant personality, however, this young high school student has more than his fair share of secrets regarding Chuohku...

Yorii is a handsome young man with an adorable child-like face, almost like that of an angel. He has golden blonde hair that goes past his neck. It looks frazzled, but is strangely styled right. His eyes are bright blue and his skin is fair. His most interest feature, though he hides it underneath his shirt is that there are slash marks on his neck where his throat his, as if someone tried to cut him open.

When he is stressed, Yorii's appearance changes drastically. His once blonde hair now turns pink, and his once blue angelic eyes are now slanted and blood-red, almost demonic like. Plus, his voice takes a sudden drop, making him seem older.

For his attire, he typically wears his school uniform, which consists of a white short-sleeved dress shirt with a black tie, a pair of blue dress pants and a pair of black dress shoes with matching-colored dress socks.

His rap ability, Siren Song, allows Yorii to, whenever an opponent is about to make a move or activate their ability, intercept them using his own ability. He sings an enchanting melody, making his opponent lose their focus and forget what they were originally doing, essentially causing them to skip their turn. He can only use this move three times per battle.

Yorii's rap themes are centered around the "good life". Much like easy R of Shibuya, he often raps about going on dates with cute girls, eating tons of sweets, and essentially just being happy and not worrying about things. He can be serious, however, and sometimes, he will rap about wanting to know more about himself, his reason for being created, and the love he has for his friends and family.

Personality

A flamboyant and open kind of person, Yorii gives the impression of being cheerful, flashy, and childish due to his mannerisms. Unlike his older siblings, he is not easily depressed or sullen, preferring to enjoy life to the fullest. He is also tremendously cheery, possessing a bubbly demeanor. Both Mina and Elliot have found it difficult to be upset or sad when their younger sibling is around since his natural charisma makes all smile in his presence.

Besides that, Yorii has also been shown to be very supportive, as he constantly tries to help Elliot overcome his shyness so that he can ask the girl he likes out on a date. He doesn't judge his brother for his lack of social skills, but instead does all he can to help him get better. Though the process is slow, Yorii still isn't worried since he knows his brother will overcome his fears one day, showing the amount of love and trust he has in him.

Despite these characteristics, that's not to say Yorii doesn't have his share of demons. When he is stressed, feels he has been insulted or someone threatens his loved ones, he adopts a much darker persona. His eyes turn blood-red, his hair turns pink, and his voice becomes much lower, speaking with an almost otherworldly tone to it. He then turns towards the target of his aggression and threatens to inflict serious psychological torture onto them, making them feel pain that no human being should ever feel. Only after they apologize or have been taught a lesson does Yorii revert to his friendly, normal persona.

Like his siblings, Yorii also stresses about the fact that most of his life is shrouded in mystery and shadow. He doesn't know much about himself, save for the fact that he has encountered a number of individuals who look strangely like him, and he doesn't know why. Every time he tries to find out more, something in the back of his mind always pulls him back, as if warning him that these questions he wants to be answered will only bring him pain and misery, which only makes him want to find out more.

Aside from that, Yorii is a normal, young man. He shot to fame only a year ago when he somehow or other burst onto the music scene. Since then, he has become a local celebrity due to his beautiful voice and looks. Though he enjoys singing and making music, he often wonders how he got so good. Was he blessed with a good voice? Or did someone give it to him... artificially? And if they did, would that explain the scar on the front of his neck which he tries his best to hide? Who can say...

Much like the Sirens of Greek mythology, his voice possesses a hypnotic effect that affects all but the most strong-willed. It's believed his voice can also █████████, but this has yet to be proven...

Though he flirts with girls often, he openly has admitted that he has a crush on a certain redhead girl who is the only person who has tied with him in an eating contest. It's believed his affection happened when she beat up a bunch of hoodlums who were bothering him (though Yorii insists he had it handled).

Though he has entered the D.R.B. to support his friends, he actually has two agendas for entering. The first: he wants to ██████████████████. And the second: to ██████████████████.

Birdie Wing: Golf Girls' Story Season 2 Spoiler-Filled Review [Part 2]

Continued from part 1

Although there, sadly, wasn't a kiss between Eve and Aoi, the series was filled with gay subtext. While some may call it yuri-bait, it is more charitable to describe it as yuri subtext. In any case, the show was a fun ride. It wrapped up far too quickly, with many time jumps. Despite this, the ending of the series makes clear that the game between Aoi and Eve continues forever. There is the implication that they won't be apart and may even play again.

The ending could have been stronger, but I don't detest it. There is enough space and possible storyline, especially during the two aforementioned time skips, that a third season or even an OVA could expand upon. Such a season, or OVA, could focus on Eve and Aoi, or the growing closeness between the two caddies, Amane and Ichina, shown in the final episode. There is fan support for another season, or OVA. It remains to be seen if executives think the same.

There are other praiseworthy elements of Birdie Wing. The music complements the action. It accompanies the strong, flowing animation. The two highly skilled series composers, Kōtarō Nakagawa and Hironori Anazawa, make the series that much better. The former composed music for Gosick and Chivalry of a Failed Knight, while the latter did music for Scarlet Nexus.

Birdie Wing is nothing like any currently airing series produced by Bandai Namco Pictures, or those by Sunrise. Such series are supernatural action, mecha, or military science fiction. Bandai Namco Pictures is known for Gintama, Brave Beats, and Aikatsu!. Another division of the same company, Sunrise (also called Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc.), is recognized for other series. This includes Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, Love Live! Superstar!!, Love Live! Sunshine!!, Love Live! School Idol Project, Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, Tiger & Bunny, Dirty Pair, and Cowboy Bebop.

The series director, Takayuki Inagaki, worked on Fuuka, KanColle, Kokoro Library, Princess Tutu, and R.O.D. the TV. Yōsuke Kuroda, main writer for Birdie Wing, worked on Kokoro Library as well. He served as a head writer for Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid and Madlax.

The voice cast are just as seasoned and have often voiced queer characters. Akari Kito, who voices Eve, voiced magical girl Momo Chiyoda in The Demon Girl Next Door, Kanata Konoe in Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, Touko Usagihara in Akebi's Sailor Uniform, and Sakura Adachi in Adachi and Shimamura. Asami Seto, voice of Aoi, previously voiced Yoshino Takatsuki in Wandering Son, Charlotte Scherzen in Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, Fena Houtman in Fena: Pirate Princess, and Nene Saionji in Yuri Is My Job!

Seto is scheduled to voice Yori Asanagi in Whisper Me a Love Song in January 2024. M.A.O. (voice of Kaoruko Iijima) will voice Kohaku in Yohane the Parhelion: Sunshine in the Mirror. The latter is a Love Live! Sunshine!! spinoff which recently premiered on Crunchyroll. The voice actor of Amane (Ami Koshimizu) voiced Yang Xiao Long in RWBY: Ice Queendom, Elda in Otaku Elf, Maria in Management of a Novice Alchemist, and Sailor Jupiter in Sailor Moon Crystal. All these characters are directly or indirectly queer.

Akira Sekine, voice of Lily, previously voiced Sora/Cure Sky in Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure and Princess Charlotte in Princess Principal. Saki Fujita, who voices Ichina, previously lent her voice to school president Mitsuki Sonoda in Sakura Trick. Sonoda had a huge crush on Haruka Takayama. Other voice actors are known for their roles in Maria Watches Over Us, Yurikuma Arashi, D4DJ, Akebi's Sailor Uniform, YuruYuri, Strawberry Panic!, and Sweet Blue Flowers.

Birdie Wing will likely not be continued. Similar themes were likely added to the video game associated with the series. The connection to Madlax, since it is in the same universe, will remain a topic of ongoing fan speculation. I will always remember this anime fondly. It may be some time before another anime can shoot me right through, as Eve says to her opponents, like this one.

All 25 episodes of Birdie Wing: Golf Girls' Story can be streamed on Crunchyroll. The second season can also be purchased on Prime Video or on the Microsoft Store.

Oy 10 was your best work yet. Well done. Firstly, how do you how to cut up a body and preserve it? And how do you know how to describe how pliers and varo instruments work? The description left me wondering. How did you do the research? Are you a cop ? Or do you watch crime movies or read a lot of murder mysterious?

Thank you bby! 🥺 OY was the first story I ever wrote and probably my most passionate project although I left off at such a stupid cliffhanger and made readers frustrated. I’m sorry for that.

I didn’t do any research for body disposal, just used bits and pieces of knowledge I have of forensic science and all that over the years. I remembered in high school I attended a forensic investigation seminar and they talked about how teeth can help identify a victim and I made sure OY Taehyung knew how to remove teeth before burning Yori. Just small things like that.

Het Mondriaan College laat leerlingen op allerlei manieren kennismaken met het bedrijfsleven. Ze halen de buitenwereld de school in door middel van gastdocenten en ze gaan zelf op pad naar bedrijven en instellingen. Op 10 oktober is commissaris van de Koning Ina Adema te gast voor het 20/80 project Power & Politics en op 12 oktober gaat de Mondriaan College Tour van start. 20/80 learning Op het Mondriaan College maken leerlingen al tijdens hun schooltijd kennis met het beroepsleven. In de havo-bovenbouw volgen ze het 20/80-programma. Ze hebben dan vier dagen ‘gewoon’ les en werken één dag per week aan allerlei vaardigheden in projectvorm. Robbert van der Veer, directeur Mondriaan College, legt uit: “Leerlingen volgen modules voor hun persoonlijke ontwikkeling en werken aan projecten, waarbij ze zelf een keuze maken tussen Arts, Business, Global, Science of Technology. Hierdoor ontwikkelen ze praktische vaardigheden die goed van pas zullen komen in hun vervolgopleiding. connecting the slice of life cast:

akira and nana met when nana was 19 and akira was 22 through some mutual friends, thus the beginning of the ‘friends group’ they are a part of. this includes kaito, who went to high school with nana and is the same age as her. while they went to high school together, they did not date until they were 20. they dated primarily on for 4 years before going to a primarily ‘off again’ status to current date. they occasionally will try to get back together, but it’s usually fizzles out shortly thereafter.

they broke up mostly amicably at nana’s request, telling kaito that they were just too different and she couldn’t see a future with him. she wants a family with children, and kaito presents as too immature with no interest in that now or in the foreseeable future. nana wants to get married, and kaito just never asked. he is still interested in nana.

because she is close to akira, and spends more time with him post-breakup, kaito projects his insecurity and failed relationship onto akira, thus developing a rather one-sided rivalry. akira is not the reason they broke up, and generally does not notice kaito’s anger towards him.

akira went to high school with hatanaka ‘ren’ yori (hehosts), meeting again later in life. akira did not go the same school as kaito and nana, and graduated when they entered their freshman year.

yogi is kaito’s older brother. he is 32, and is the owner / boss of the family mechanic shop their parents opened up in the mid-90s. their family is heavily involved in car culture. yogi is seen as the ‘prodigal son’ of his family, being the oldest son and the second born. kaito is the youngest.

ren is also located in the red light district as is his host club shining! -> this becomes a semi-frequent spot to meet up for akira and company.

they usually meet up for sushi or karaoke.

this friends group is currently pretty vague with many open slots that can be filled by other muses. i am only writing three of what i imagine to be around 9-12 people total that includes akira, nana, and kaito.

yogi is affiliated but not directly involved.

ren is starting to get to know some of akira’s friends, having hosted quite a few of them now.
