Little backlog on character portraits because I won't get them revamped, so better hurry and share them! My badger witch sinner Camellia has been really fun to play, still on the fence if she's hiding little badger ears under all that hair and hat. @corgigem's fallen son, Black, got a tattoo in game recently and I wanted to try drawing them finally too! Ying'er has the world's squishiest cheeks, and I love him, but I keep wavering on his human skin. We're probably going for blonde!

MY 3.5 PREDICTIONS

About Caribert:

- Kaeya and Dain DO interact, but only for like 2 minutes. This interaction will reveal that they’ve actually never met each other before. 

- Dainsleif will reveal that he was supposed to be a Schwanenritter, but deserted for whatever reason. 

- More of Celestia’s crimes against humanity will be revealed. 

- There WILL BE a new Khaenri’an NPC, but they will either day before the quest ends or will have been corrupted with the Abyss. 

- When the hilichurl takes its mask off, its face will look alarmingly human. Like, almost human but there’s a specific uncanny valley effect.

- The Cryo Abyss Herald is actually completely irrelevant to the quest. Like, it’s just an enemy who shows up and then you fight it. 

- Our sibling will show up, but only in a flashback or something to do with the mirror we pick up. 

- It will be revealed that a Descender is leading the Abyss Order. 

- it is NOT revealed how exactly our sibling’s fate is being obscured from Irminsul nor why they aren’t considered a descender. 

About Windblume: 

- Collei and Amber’s reunion will make me cry. 

- Kaeya is not involved in any of it due to being in Caribert. 

- Amber and Collei are the ‘main characters’ of this quest 

- Cyno and Lisa interact, Tighnari and Albedo interact 

- Diluc shows up for like 3 seconds to have a brief look of understanding with Collei and Cyno, then immediately leaves. 

- We will play matchmaker between Timaeus and Ying’er. 

- The ‘prophecy’ will be revealed to just be a trick of Venti’s to encourage people to have fun on Windblume. 

- Either Varka or Alice will make a physical appearance, but not both. If it’s Varka, he will have a disappointingly twink-ish appearance and the community backlash will be enough that they will FINALLY FUCKING FINALLY make better and more diverse base models for characters. If it’s Alice, her boobs will be the size of watermelons and she’ll look like a Klee + Lisa hybrid. She’ll make a vague reference to Rukkhadevata, then laugh it off as if it was a joke because only WE REMEMBER RUKKHADEVATA EXISTS. 

About my pulls:

- I will get Dehya within Day 1. 

- I will get Cyno C2, but not C3. 

- I will lose a 50/50 and get a Constellation rather than a new character (weeps in no Keqing or Diluc or Tighnari). 

- My ‘Kaeya is a segment of Pierro’ bullshit will be definitely proven false, so I can properly classify it as an AU. 

- I will finally go full Pepe Sylvia Mode about how Dehya’s kit was designed

Shade/Ying'er is a lantern projection from fragments of Nambulite's soul that guards a tomb... but as it turns out, I really can't draw the bird forms to design anything, so humanoid form instead. Lil height refs, Ying'er's actually pretty tall. Nambulite's just much taller...

Everybody's going to have Feelings and Opinions about Ying'er looking like Nambulite's spawn, but I'm sure that won't be weird for the Ars Goetia.

ying'er's poem overanalysis

We all know the poem. We all know it's there as a paper-thin excuse for Ying'er to say 'deflowered.' However, after taking a second look at it, there might actually be a bit more to it!

WARNING: Requires advanced reading comprehension. You have been warned.

In the poem, cherry blossoms are probably representing Ying'er herself. While cherry blossoms are most often associated with spring, hope and renewal, this is actually a Japan thing. In the more Chinese-inspired Liyue, cherry blossoms are symbolic of feminine power, mystique and beauty (according to Google, anyway). Considering Ying'er, there's a good chance she's referring to herself here.

Spring tends to symbolize renewal, rebirth and life, so in the context of, uh, deflowerment, spring is probably representing youth and being young.

In contrast, winter's lack of life and pure biting cold is likely symbolizing old age, when in context of someone's, uh, wood withering. This is, admittedly, a stretch, but considering Spring's meaning, this interpretation is probably the best.

Putting all of this together, Ying'er is actually saying "Don't resent me for being horny in my youth, because when I get old and wrinkly, even the horniest dude's gonna be turned off, so I'll be all promiscuous now when I have the chance."

Ying'er, even though she's clearly best girl, thinks that she'll wither away alone.
