7:51 a.m. Discussing another extremely dead-dove anon smut collab piece with a friend for a fandom I should just leave well enough alone. Star Wars, I wish I could quit you.
8:47 p.m. Pumping my fist at finishing this exchange piece days before it's due. Just need to polish the ending until Sunday and then wrap up this other chapter for a completely separate fic - then draw, and then draw some more. My creative commitments these days are... something.
9:06 p.m. Shot my friend pics of my busted ass foot, meanwhile she's sending me pics of her cute new Yiga outfit on TOTK. I can't wait to actually go running later this week. At this point, my ankle is very much on the mend but I don't want to overdo it. I've been listening to my running playlist to get me pumped until then, but I'm just so thankful I can make a full recovery. Because seriously, this blood bruising is fucking ick.
11:00 p.m. Trying to divine what pics to reblog knowing that the one I really want will be taken down immediately because of a tit.
11:09 p.m. In reflecting on my time spent back in California this past week, by far the coolest experience was always at sunset. We made a habit of being somewhere by the Pacific every day to watch the sunset over the ocean (we only have sunrises over the Atlantic back east, obvi) and I loved watching all of the people who would turn out. Some people would literally run to the beach to make sure they didn't miss it. It was always so peaceful and such a shared experience, those last fifteen minutes of the light.

villain music taste / band headcanons? I know you already have a thing on your master post of specific songs you associate each villain with, but would / do they have any favourite overall genres / bands?
I do beleive its a bit cursed but I had fun writing them, I hope you like them!
Zant
He is very fond of twili folk music, he is often heard humming a song when he's concentrated.
Outside that he is into city pop and kpop.
He has no favorite kpop grups or favorite bands in particular but his favorite song is this one.
He can't speak Japanese or Korean but he tries his very best and sings at the top of his lungs, mostly to annoy Ghirahim.
Ghirahim
Very emo.
I'm talking MCR and Fall Out Boy emo.
Aside his 47 emo play lists he also adores Doja Cat.
Ganondorf
Ganondorf is a simple man, he only listens to classical music and Ranchera.
Also big fan of Juan Gabriel and Jose Jose.
Volga
In first glance everyone assumes he likes heavy metal right? Well that's wrong.
Volga is very passionate about Jazz
He listens to the Initial D soundtrack to train and work out.
Wizzro
He has one playlist and it has just about everything.
One moment he might be singing Creep by Radio head and then he can vibe to Bad Romance.
Also big ABBA stan.
Robbie
He likes to listen to Lo-fi hip hop beats to study to when he's working.
But he definitely listens to post punk.
His favorite artist is Molchat Doma.
Astor
Listens to goth classics like Bauhaus and Siouxie.
He absolutely insists that they sound better on vinyl. That's why he has no play lists at all, he's an elitist with his music preferences.
Kohga
Sea shanties and folk rock, there is no in-between.
Makes the Yiga clan sing along with him. He has created a few banana themed sea shanties and they are massive hits within the Yiga Clan.
Sooga
Nature sounds and soft rock.
He prefers the nature sounds when he needs to relax and clear his mind.
His favorite artist is Elton John and he knows all of his songs.

Completely unrelated to my last post (or maybe a little bit related?), it still tickles me that Sidon is chronologically the opposite of Link.
Link started out cheerful, loud, and confident, then grew up to be silent, shy, and (eventually) bratty.
Sidon started out silent, shy, and bratty (according to him, anyway, we never got to see the bratty part), then grew up to be cheerful, loud, and confident.
They are so cute. 😭💖

MY PERSONAL REMARKS:
FIRST: I love seeing my friends in my top reblogs. You guys rule, and your creations inspire me and bring me so much joy. Always, always share your work and your passions with me! Even if you think it isn't in my realm, share it anyway, because it makes you happy and that makes it worthwhile to me, too!
SECOND: A week after writing my longest tag - comparing one of my art styles to being so ill you can't lift yourself from the bathroom floor - I became violently ill, and didn't eat for an entire week. I lost a dangerous amount of weight and contemplated my mortality. I may have a weird and deep and horrifying magic that I can't control. Or it could all just be a disturbing coincidence.
THIRD: Bless the sidlink community! You guys puff up my ego so much and I love you! You give my mindless rambling headcanons more attention than they deserve, and make me excited to share my romantic fanart instead of embarrassed and awkwardly ashamed. No matter what the new game brings next year, let's keep celebrating this lovely ship together!

Chapter 45 and Chapter 47
A03
Fire crackled. Steps walked around, squishing and plopping in the mushy earth. Wind felt mud seeping into his clothes, hair, and skin. It left him feeling chilled despite the sweat coating his brow. His mouth felt puffy and swollen. Swallowing was difficult, breathing more so. The Phantom Sword rested heavy in his hand, weighing his hand down and making it impossible to move. At least he was armed. That is, if he could manage to lift his sword enough to fight.
Wind felt a presence settle next to him. Water sloshed onto his arms, staining his shirt. Goosebumps riddled his skin, making him feel nauseous at the sudden temperature change. The water made him aware of the burning in his chest. Injuries flared to life as the person next to him started poking his arm to grab his attention.
“Geez, you sure the shrimp didn’t die out there Tez? He hasn’t moved since you put him here.”
An exasperated sigh, “I swear to Hylia, leave the kid alone. If he wakes up we help him,”
“But what if-”
“But he’s not going to get better if you keep messing with him, you daft idiot. I’m going to join the patrol, just watch him, got it?”
Mud splattered onto him as the person stood and walked away, “Well fine. Forgive me for worrying…” a much quieter addition, “asshole.”
Wind tensed. There were so many red flags in that conversation alone. He was wounded, tired, and surrounded. There was no way he wasn’t getting out of this without confrontation. It didn’t help that he wasn’t a smooth talker like Wars or just plain charming like Sky. Wind felt his hand creak and pop as he tightened his grip on his sword. Wind gritted his teeth and struggled to sit up through the pain.
“Oh shit the shrimp is alive.” Rude. He couldn’t look that bad. Wind leaned against his hand for leverage to steady himself. Quickly toweling the crust off his eye he made sure to glare at the voice the second he was able to see their face.
It took everything in him not to react.
A perplexed Yiga stared back at him.
______________________________________________________
The horror stories that Wild had warned them with flashed through his mind with unexpected clarity. They had all laughed at Wild’s over-exaggerated poses and acting as he told how he out-smarted the assassins time and time again on his journey. Wind hadn’t thought it concerning before, but now? After the whole experience with the thieves and monsters, Wind didn’t think Wild was exaggerating. They were wearing red leotards and Wind spotted some bananas off to the side, currently untouched.
Wind was certain that in better circumstances, he would have no problem out-witting them or fighting these two off, but Twilight’s voice in the back of his mind chided him for things like overworking himself and being reckless. (He was a Hero of Courage, didn’t being reckless come with the territory?) Unfortunately, Wind groaned internally, he was going to have to think his way through this. Wind barely managed to not flinch as his hand spasmed when he tried to grip his sword better. Why was it burning? He wanted to check it out but he didn’t trust the Yiga not to try something if he showed any more weakness. Well… any more than passing out and having to be saved from getting his head cut off but a stupid lizaflos. Hylia, how embarrassing.
“Kid, yo kid!” Wind jerked back into the present. The Yiga's face was closer to him than he thought. He subtly shifted backwards as the man began to talk, “Dude, I thought you died. Damn, I lost the bet. I’m gonna have to pay up after they get back from patrol.”
Patrol? Wind filtered the information for later while trying to swallow his growing anxiety. Wind was strong but he knew his limits. He had a feeling fighting a group of Yiga was far more difficult than being chased by lizaflos after a rough night.
It left only one path for him to take. One that brought a smirk to his mind’s eye. He could already see Tetra cackling.
Time to bullshit his way out of this, like a true pirate.
___________________________________________________
Fortunately, Wild had given Wind plenty of source material to work with. Although he didn’t have a handy, dandy tablet with magic he did know their weakness and it was sitting right behind the babbling Yiga who was still sitting too close for comfort.
To think bananas would be his saving grace.
Wind let the Yiga talk to himself, slowly forging a plan in his mind. It was stupid. Reckless was only the tip of the iceberg. It depended completely on how gullible these Yiga were. If everything worked out then Wind would be gone before the rest returned from patrol.
Step One: Bring attention to the bananas.
Wind forced a grin as he was forced to pay attention to the guy rambling about tactics, slippers, and his favorite banana desserts. Wind managed to grab his attention when the Yiga paused to take a breath between subjects.
“Actually, some bananas sound great right now. I’m a bit hungry after almost dying.” He made a big show of glancing around the campsite, “Ah! What about those bananas?” He smiled his best “I’m totally innocent, you can trust me” smile, “They’re your favorite right?”
The Yiga scratched the back of its head, “About that,” they looked down, “those are the boss’s bananas, we can’t eat those. Patrol was supposed to bring something back but….they’re taking longer than expected…” They trailed off, looking away from Wind.
Wind let the silence sit for a moment, “Well!” The Yiga jumped. “Does anyone else have something to eat?”
“Um….no?” Well shit that was a problem. He really was hungry. This guy seemed like a nice person except for the glaring fact that they served in a cult bent on serving Ganon. Never mind, he’d have to skip the “snack” part of his plan.
Sad,  but the show must go on.
Step Two: Stand up
Easier said than done. But Wind had done so in worse conditions (maybe). Wind slowly stretched out, wincing at the popping joints. Hylia, he was stiff. His battered body screamed in protest making Wind’s eyes water. Regardless, he smiled brightly at the Yiga. If he could see his face they’d probably look incredulous. But he couldn’t. All he could see was their dumb mask.  “Better get something then. Don’t want to starve out here right?” Wind gathered his things slowly, careful not to pull the wounds on his chest too much as he slung the -now suspiciously lighter- bag over his good shoulder before finally strapping his sword to his waist and walking away.
Step Three: Make them underestimate you.
The Yiga seemed to finally snap out of his stupor. They scrambled to catch him. “Hold on kid!” Wind stopped for a second, sparing the staggering Yiga a glance. “You can’t just leave!”
Wind blinked, “Why not?”
The Yiga sputtered, “Because!” They stood next to Wind, still too close in Wind’s opinion. “I gotta watch you before Tez and the others get back. You leave and I get my ass handed to me!”
That sounded like a personal issue, but Wind kept up the charade, “Sorry man but I just wanna stretch my legs and maybe find a snack. I won’t go far I promise.” They looked at him for a second before sighing.
“Fine, but stay close. The others should be back any minute.”
Wind gave a mock salute, “Of course!”
Step Four: Lose the chump.
The plan was moving along without a hitch but WInd wasn’t out of the woods yet. Now the hardest part would be to sneak away from camp, avoid the patrol and  monsters, and somehow find Elenor who was probably losing her mind. A vivid image of Elenor running round swinging her ax at anything that got too close filled his mind. Wind shivered. He’d better get out of here as fast as possible and find her before she traumatizes the local wildlife.
Wind walked at a leisurely pace away from the campsite. The Yiga watched him from the fire. Seems like he was serious about making sure Wind didn’t leave. Wind gave a bright smile and walked towards the abandoned village, making sure to look thoroughly at trees and the ground as he went. He periodically checked to see if the ninja was still watching. When their eyes were averted, Wind quickly dashed into an abandoned house. It stank of rotten wood and mold. The floor had sunk into the swamp long ago, forcing Wind to carefully walk through debris, mud, and stagnant water until he reached the doorway.
Wind wasted no time in picking a direction. The house opened onto what remained of the village pathway. It was overrun with weeds and scattered pieces of houses that had been destroyed in the Calamity. The village was silent, there were no signs of life. Wind strained his ears to hear for anything approaching as he darted from house to house in what he hoped was the correct direction. The faster he got out of here and back on the road the safer he would be. The Yiga wouldn’t attack him on neutral ground right? It was a longshot. A longshot that depended on the Yiga adhering to the rules of common decency but it was all Wind could think of to do. After all, stables were right off the roads and the last stable seemed downright hostile to the thought of any Yiga breaching the perimeter. If he waited, maybe Elenor could find him there. Wind didn’t want to entertain the thought of traveling the rest of the way alone. It pulled at his heart just thinking about it.
Shaking his head, Wind refocused on the moment. He’d have to worry about finding Elenor after getting out of this situation. Wind had moved through several houses now and that the one Yiga had most likely started looking for him. He had to keep moving if he wanted to escape. Water overtook the path ahead. The houses up ahead looked to be in a worse state than the ones before as well leaving Wind hardly any cover to hide against. It was suspicious that he hadn’t seen anything, or any-ninja, since ditching that one back at camp. Lukewarm water touched his calves as Wind crouched in the reeds in an attempt to camouflage himself. Fireflies lit up the grasses as their nightly dances began. The sun was rapidly approaching sunset as Wind darted through the rubble. No monsters had shown themselves. Wind was starting to think there weren’t any here. Perhaps the patrol had gotten rid of them all? The possibility didn’t sit well with him. That would mean these Yiga were stronger than he thought.
Well, it wouldn’t matter if he got away. Wind spotted another raised area that was dry. Several houses lay crumbling on top of it. Some cover was better than being exposed out in the middle of the field like a lost pig waiting for their shepherd. He banked towards it, hoping to find a clear path to the exit. Wind risked standing at his full height to alleviate his cramping legs. The first house was impassable. The roof lay in chunks on the ground, forcing Wind to go around the outside. He crouched behind a barrel for a moment’s reprieve when muffled footsteps shuffled nearby. Heart in his throat, Wind forced himself to keep breathing slowly as they stopped for a moment and continued getting louder as they got closer to his position. Standing slowly, Wind silently cursed the sealed top of the barrel. He couldn’t pry it off without revealing his location. He walked slowly backwards, ears trained on the sound ahead of him. He’d have to retreat to the field and find another route. Wind kept walking, crouched slightly in case he had to run. The steps were getting louder, the crunching gravel like fireworks in the night as Wind began speedily retreating towards the other side of the house. The footsteps, thank Hylia, retreated, Wind waited until he couldn’t hear anything before turning back the way he came.
He had just made it to the edge of the field when a hand gripped his shoulder in an iron grip. Wind looked back. A tall imposing ninja jeered, “Well, what do we have here?”

oh! swap au!
is(ana) is 22 and has an older brother wazu (no one knows his real name) and  a twin sister as(uka). is doesn’t know where her sister is and what she’s doing (as is raising trouble!)
horobi is 47 (but of course looks younger than that!) and works in one of the humagear departments at hiden intelligence. has a 21yr.old son named jin that started working at the security department recently (horobi worries for him so much!)
naki is... nobody actually knows how old they are (30? 32?). they also work in one of the humagear departments at hiden intelligence (worked under horobi once!). raiden aka ikazuchi (horobi, jin and naki’s name for him so no one else if allowed to call him that) works at space department-specifically satellite upkeep-of hiden intelligence together with his younger brother subaru (no one knows how old he is either!)
(there’s a rumor that horobi, jin, ikazuchi and naki were in a gang once and maybe still are! and subaru might or not might know about it and might or might not be helping them)
shesta is either a board member or the vice-president of hiden intelligence and she has two humagears jun and sanzo
aruto was a caretaker-type model who, after reaching singularity, wanted to be a comedian. was a housekeeper for a... very sad gentleman (who might or might not have lost his son) and that’s where he gets the dream for humans and humagear to live together peacefully from. (distraught when he has to fight either human or humagear)
yua is a soldier-type model who, despite reaching singularity, thinks of herself and her fellow humagers are tools. tools that need to be kept out of trouble and repaired but tools nonetheless (or so she tells herself)
isamu is a clerical-type model retooled into a soldier-type model who, despite reaching singularity, hates his fellow humagears (and maybe even himself!) because they can easily be hacked into violent machines. is more than happy to reduce a fellow humagear to scrap and has a made pact with yua that if the other were ever to go berserk, the other would kill them
gai is also a clerical-type model who, despite reaching singularity, thinks humanity is superior and his fellow humagears should be under their control. he’s ruthless and arrogant that even the others don’t want to be anywhere near him. they only keep him around so he’s the extra muscle
and together they are the group WAKANA  (complete harmony/peace) but if gai is talking, he calls the group YIGA (yua, isamu and aruto don’t want gai to be part of the name so they refuse to use it which upsets gai because he even made business cards for it!) who want to keep humagears under control. well, except aruto
additions:
horobi, jin, ikazuchi & naki's group is named ".net" instead of mbjr because that name is too chuuni hahahaha
they all like humagears and prefer them over people. though their fondness for humagears do come of as insincere and patronizing sometimes
the wakana all have last names, either given or taken. isamu and aruto got their last names frome their... families. isamu was with a family that he later left because he went berserk and attacked them while aruto might not have gone berserk because he was damaged enough by an explosion that he shut down. when they find out that they've been given last names, they're shocked and really touched
yua could have been given a last name by by the one who bought her or took her last name from someone. gai definitely took his last name from someone, he wants to be closer to humanity after all!
the wakana have all sustained damages that they've been repaired several times. enough that they have differently colored humagear modules. aruto's is black & yellow-green with red circles, isamu's is gray and blue with reddish-orange circles, yua's is white and orange with yellow circles and gai's is golden-yellow and silver with purple circles
aims and zaia aren't mentioned so i guess yua and isamu still work for aims and gai works as a secretary at zaia

Shadows of the Yiga | Chapter 47
It was early in the afternoon the next day when the Champions found themselves gathered together inside the palace. They kept inside the walls of the palace, away from the crowd and reporters, as Zelda held a press conference. Link, however, paid no mind to the coverage on the tv screen, and instead searched for his sister, somewhere within those same walls. It didn’t take long to find her, having a good hunch of where she would be.
He stood in the doorway of the small temple inside the palace, his hands shoved in his pockets. He watched as Aryll stood over their father. Though she spoke softly to him, her voice carried.
“Anyway,” she said. She paused to sniff and wipe at her tears. “I dunno. Maybe it’s dumb. But I just wanted a chance to say goodbye this time.” She shrugged. “No one gets a second chance like we did. Only you would manage to pull something like that off.” She smiled to herself, then after a moment, she sighed shakily. “Thank you for coming back,” she whispered. “I wouldn’t change that for the world. Link, either, I know. You guys...” She chuckled lightly. “You guys are both so damn stubborn. I guess there’s a lot of you there. So, that’s not so bad.” She forced a smile. “I know you’d be like, making a stupid joke right now or something.” She paused. “I know we’ll be okay. You made sure of that.” She allowed the tears to roll down her cheeks. “And don’t worry. I won’t burn anymore books.” She hesitated, holding back a sob. “I love you, Daddy.” After a moment, her ears twitched, and she turned her gaze to the ceiling and smiled.
She noticed her brother then, and turned toward him. She offered him a smile as he approached her. He stood at her side when he reached her, but his gaze was fixed on the casket in the front of the room.
“Do you resent me?” he asked quietly.
Aryll’s brows furrowed. “What? No. Why would you ask that?”
“Because everything's my fault.”
“Why would you say that?”
“I didn’t… I could have… prevented this.”
Aryll wrapped her arms around her brother. He stiffened in her hold.
“It’s not your fault,” she said softly. “I know it’s not.”
Link’s shoulders dropped and he wrapped his arms around his sister. “Okay,” he said simply.
Aryll pulled back and met his gaze. “Don’t you believe me?”
Link forced a smile. “Yeah.”
Aryll raised a brow. “Really?”
Link sighed tiredly. “Yes, Aryll.”
Aryll smiled. “Good.” She made her way out of the room, not bothering to check to see if her brother was following her. “I think we should get pizza again tonight. This time, I’m thinking a veggie lovers.”
Link turned his gaze back to the casket. He remained standing in the middle of the room, his hands back in his pockets. It felt strange to be back in the city, as if all that had happened over the last couple of months was just a distant dream. He didn’t particularly feel any better about being home and instead found himself wishing he were back at the ranch. Despite it all, at the ranch, everything felt right, even if for just brief moments. Aryll happily grooming the horses. His father smoking a cigarette against the fence as his daughter pressed for a ride. Staring at his father’s casket didn’t necessarily make his death feel any more real, but it made those small moments more concrete in his mind. And he smiled.
Aryll was right. They were given a second chance. And despite how they were torn apart once more, he wouldn’t have traded those moments for anything in the world. He tore his gaze away, turned around, and followed Aryll back into the hall where she waited just around the corner with the rest of their friends.
“Who knew she’d be so comfortable making speeches,” Daruk said.
“I knew,” Revali said with a nod. “This is Zelda, we’re talking about. All she ever does is lecture us and make speeches.”
“Are you guys leaving, now?” Aryll asked with a frown.
Revali draped an arm around her shoulders. “Not me, kiddo. I’ve still gotta recruit your brother to work for me.” He looked up, meeting Link’s gaze, and gave him a wink.
“I already moved in, and out, and in again,” Mipha said. “I don’t plan on going anywhere for a long time.”
“I was actually thinking about moving back for a while,” Urbosa said thoughtfully. “You know, in case Revali really does need a lawyer.”
“Oh, so I’m the asshole that’s not going to stay?” Daruk said.
“Pretty much,” Revali confirmed.
“You’re breaking us up, man!” Aryll scolded him.
Daruk sighed. “You guys have never been to Eldin,” he said. “It rocks over there.”
“I never thought I’d say this,” Revali started, “But I’m going to Kit’s bar. Guess it’s time to be a regular there.”
“Kit has a bar?” Urbosa asked with a grin. “Jeez, he never talked about it.”
They turned as footsteps rounded the corner and Zelda greeted them with a tired smile.
“We’re going drinking, apparently,” Daruk said. “You coming?”
“I don’t think so,” Zelda said with a frown.
“This is it,” Revali said. “This is where she leaves us to be a boring queen.”
Zelda offered an apologetic smile.
“Ah, we don’t need her,” he continued, waving her off. “Let’s go.”
“Have fun,” Urbosa said. “Zelda and I have our own plans.”
“Whatever,” Revali grumbled.
“I’ll meet you there,” Link said. There was still something else he had to do. Someone else he wanted to see. He parted from his friends, wandering the palace halls aimlessly until he rounded the corner to the temple once more. The doors were closed, now, and two guards stood on either side of it. A third person - and just the person he wanted to see - stood in front of the doors.
Dorian stared at the closed doors, his face torn in grief and regret. It took him a moment to notice Link’s presence, but when he did, he turned to him. His expression hardened once more, offering him no greeting, and he watched as Link approached him.
“What’s up?” he asked simply.
“I, uh just wanted to apologize. For not trusting you.”
Dorian seemed to study him carefully. He pulled his gaze away. “That’s not necessary,” he said. “I did nothing to earn your trust. You had no reason to trust me.”
“But Dad did,” Link said. “And that should have been enough for me.”
Dorian said nothing.
“And,” Link continued. “I wanted to say thanks. For everything you did for him, and for us.”
“Ah, don’t thank me,” he said, his shoulders dropping slightly. “I only did it because your father would have killed me otherwise.”
“Right,” Link said. The corner of his lip pulled into a crooked smile. “Like he could have killed a Sheikah.”
“You underestimate him,” Dorian said. “He was terrifying when he wanted to be.” He turned his gaze back to Link. “Is that all?”
Link raised a brow. “Are you trying to get rid of me?”
“Well, no offense, but you’ve been my problem for the last twenty-six years.”
“Right.” Link’s lips pulled into a small smile. He put his hands in his pockets and turned away. “See you around, D.” He could practically feel Dorian’s furious gaze on him as he walked away and rounded the corner.
*****
To his surprise, Kit’s bar was lined with bodies. As expected, Daurk, Revali, Mipha, and Aryll were there, along with Teba and even Sera. They took up a majority of the bar seating while the rest of the room remained relatively empty, one other patron sitting alone at a booth in the corner. They all turned to see who had come through the door, and upon seeing Link, Sera jumped to her feet and ran to pull him into a hug.
“For fuck’s sake, Link,” she barked at him. She pushed away at arm’s length and looked him over. “Please tell me all of Kit’s wild ass stories aren’t true.”
“They probably are,” Link said. He stepped around her, ignoring her angry gaze, and joined his friends at the bar, sitting himself beside Mipha.
“You didn’t believe me,” Kit said. “Why else do you think I’ve been MIA? I’ve been helping his sorry ass!”
Sera returned to her seat at the bar, her head shaking. She glanced at Link. “For real?”
Link shrugged. “He was an annoying presence,” he said simply.
“If it weren’t for me -”
“If It weren’t for you,” Mipha sneered, “he wouldn’t have run off on some suicide mission.”
“But then he wouldn’t have found Dad,” Aryll pointed out.
“Oh, that guy would have found you one way or another,” Revali said.
“Wait,” Sera started. “You left out that part.” She sneered at Kit.
Kit cleaned an empty glass absentmindedly. “It’s a touchy subject right now.”
Sera frowned. She turned back to Link. “So, now what?”
“Do you think I can get my job back?” Link asked.
“You defeated the entire Yiga Clan, and you’re worried about getting your job back?” Sera stared at him in shock.
“Heroes gotta get paid,” Link reminded her.
“Oi.” She pressed a finger to her temple, then sighed. “The office has been pretty boring without you.” She opted to turn her attention to Aryll, and smiled. “Are you going to make it through your last year of high school? Or is Link going to have to bust you out of jail or something?”
Aryll shrugged. “We’ll see how I feel come September,” she said with a grin.
“Does that attitude run in the family?” Sera asked.
“Yes,” Link and Aryll both confirmed.
Sera smiled.
“Refill?” Kit pointed down the line of patrons seated at the bar. When he got to Link, he skipped over him, and pointed at Aryll. His gaze narrowed for a moment on her, then shrugged.
“Beer, or fruity drink?”
“Beer,” Aryll confirmed.
“Do you want to lose your license?” Sera sneered.
Kit straightened and spread his arm out before him, indicating the very empty bar, then laughed. “Like I have one of those.” He turned to fetch their drinks, speaking once more when he returned. “Besides. Girl could use a drink or two right now.” He handed Aryll a bottle and winked at her.
“You’re a good man,” Aryll said. “A gentleman and a scholar.”
“She’s drunk,” Revali said.
“Hey, fuck you.”
Link peered at his sister curiously. “How many have you had?”
Aryll held the bottle up proudly. “One.”
“And before I got here?”
“Three!”
“What a lightweight,” Revali said.
“You didn’t learn your lesson last time?”
Aryll slunk back in her seat.
“Oh, shit,” Kit said, remembering what had happened last time. “I can’t encourage that behavior.” He moved to take the bottle from her.
“I’ll be good!” Aryll said. “I’ll pass high school and everything! I deserve this drink!”
“That’s how it starts, you know,” Kit warned. “Your brother is an expert.”
Aryll frowned. She turned her gaze to the bottle in her hand. When her brother patted her head with his hand, she met his gaze.
“You are smarter than me, remember?”
“This is true,” she confirmed. She lifted the bottle as if in toast, and drank.
The man that sat alone stood at that moment and mosied over to the bar, pushing himself between Link and Aryll.
“Son of a bitch,” he said, looking Link over. He held a card between his fingers and handed it to Kit. “They’re drinks are on me.”
Kit eyed him carefully. “Sure,” he said with a one shouldered shrug. “You’ll regret that.”
The man leaned against the counter. “I don’t think so,” he said with a grin. “So, Rusl really did find himself a chick and a couple of kids.”
Link narrowed his gaze on him. “Excuse me?”
“I grew up with him,” he said. “At Telma’s. I’m Karsen.”
“Telma’s?” Aryll echoed. Karsen turned his attention to her. “Were you guys like, foster brothers or something?”
Karsen made a look of disgust and laughed. “I guess so. Shit, last time I talked to him was almost thirty years ago.”
“He never talked about you,” Aryll said frankly.
Karsen smiled. “I’m sure he didn’t talk about any of it,” he said.
Aryll considered this. “Yeah. That’s true.”
“Camilla’s been up my ass about finding you two,” he said.
“Camilla?” Aryll raised a brow.
“Telma’s daughter, that old hag.” He straightened and took his phone out of his pocket. “I dunno. She promised Telma she’d give you some shit Telma had been holding on to. Said Rusl wanted you to have it.” He showed his phone to Link, a number displayed on the screen. “Give her a call, I guess. I did my part.”
“Stalking us?” Aryll asked, narrowing her gaze.
“Well, it’s not that hard when the entire kingdom is hearing about some shit with this Yiga Clan.” He shrugged. “I always knew Rusl was living in the city. Figured it was likely you were still here. Once I started seeing all that shit on the news, I decided to come around and see if I could track you down.” He let Aryll take the phone from him, and he wiped his hands together. “I did my part. That’s all I came for.”
After taking down the number, Aryll handed the phone back to him. “Where are you going?”
Karsen smiled and pocketed his phone. “I dunno,” he said. “I usually just wander around and see where life takes me.”
Aryll raised a skeptical brow. “Right. You’re weird.”
“And you are totally Rusl’s daughter.” His grin widened and he turned away from them. “See ya later.”
Revali watched him leave, his gaze suspicious. “What the fuck was that about?”
“I’m gonna call,” Aryll said, jumping to her feet.
“No, you’re not,” Link sneered.
“Aw, come on,” she whined. “I wanna see what stuff Dad had laying around.” Her face brightened. “Maybe we have an inheritance!”
“Unlikely,” Link said.
“Never know unless we call,” she said, already dialing the number. She tapped her foot as she waited, then beamed when a voice answered. “Camilla? Karsen gave me this number.”
“Bless Hylia,” Camilla’s voice said. “If it isn’t little Aryll.”

Breath of the Wild - Session #8
Mountain Climbing
You didn’t think i would continue to play this fast, did you? Haha! And i even played a few hours! Be prepared for a looong story!
So, i was in Hateno, ready to leave. But there was still the southern beach of Hateno, so i went there. For that i first climbed a nearby hill, beacuse there was something interesting on the map...
Tumblr media
The heartless have been here!!
Three fairies have been flying around here, which i quickly stored in my pockets. Fairies are important, okay? There was an adventurerer there, too, in search of the pond of love. But eh... you might have guessed it: this is not the right pond. The real is further south, i think, and i know there is a quest there, too. But we’ll visit that later. For now, on to the beach! I also spotted something interesting in the distance, and after, eh...
Tumblr media
BOOM!
...i found another Korok. Yay!
Tumblr media
#37 likes apples, too!
At the beach i had to fight two more Lizalfos, but this wasn’t the camp i had to clear for the quest. In fact, i had already found it the list time. Do you remember the silver Bokblins? Those are my targets. And you know what? SCREW IT! Won’t do that now. Nope! But you know what i’ll do know?
Tumblr media
Jump over ice to this shrine! That’s what i do!
Tumblr media
Also, hello little one #38
This shrine is called the Chasu-Keta-Shrine (german), and... i would love to clear it, but... you see, there are trials of strength or whatever they are called. There exist three difficulties for this: easy, middle, hard. This one is one of the hard trials, where you fight an insanely strong little guardian. I tried it, but it has way too much HP for now, and does way too much damage to handle it. So... i had to left. I might come back later for it, though.
On my way back to Hateno i found some treasures in the sea, and bombed away to Lizalfos who felt like attacking me. And before reaching the coast, the bloodmone rose again, reviving all the monster i had killed. Nice. *sighs*
So... day 13 started. I had to replenish the cooked food i’ve eaten, and some more bufffood would be nice, too, so i went cooking in Hateno. You know, fire swords are pretty handy if you want to light up something. One swing, and tadaaa: fire! I threw some fish and crabs into the pots, so i could get some damage buffs.
Tumblr media
Fried eggs with rice! Yummy! See, i can cook, too!
After that, i travelled back to Kakariko. With only few disturbing fights (i hate fighting in Master Mode so much, seriously. Might rant about it at the end), i managed to get there fairly quick. Impa told me i should search for the places where Zelda had taken the photos, so Link could regain his lost memories.
Tumblr media
Before searching for the first one, the fairy was so kind to upgrade the Hylian Armor i had bought in Hateno. I just... kinda forgot to equip it. Whatever.
Behind the fairies pond, you can find a plateau (yet to explore) and an old waterway. I knew i could find one of the memory-spots there, so i took Fiona to ride there.
Tumblr media
OH DEER!
On my way, if fought another Yiga, and found Koroks, of course. Are you surprised? I’m not. Like i told you: they are everywhere. I bet, sometimes you might lift a stone in your garden, an plop, there is another one!
Tumblr media
#39 likes shapes
Tumblr media
And #40 likes flowers
There live many monsters in the waterway, so it’s a bit dangerous there. And... there was another silver Bokblin there. I kinda ignored most of them though, cause the fighting in this mode is so frustrating and tiring, god... But at the end, i found the memory at the start of day 14.
Tumblr media
Mysterious glowing~
Tumblr media
OH NO I FORGOT THE OVEN!
It’s memory #11. Zelda had been training at the spring on top of the mountain, so she could awaken her powers, but... it didn’t work. The heroes tried to cheer her up, but the evil appeared - Ganon awoke from his slumber, and now they had to hurry back to the castle.
Maybe i should have returned to Kakariko now, but... i knew there was still some stuff to do here, and i didn’t want to wait. Have i told you about Lynel yet? Those are the most dangerous creatures in this game. They have SO MUCH HP, do extremly high damage, and are just a pain in the ass. They also don’t count as minibosses, like the Iwarok, but believe me, they are. Don’t approach them if you are not ready. And in this mode... no, i don’t want to fight one yet. Still... there is one living riiight in front of me.
So did i face him? No. Nononono. I sneaked past him, after taking a picture of him. I also thought about facing a sleeping Hinox nearby, but, eh... too strong, too. Not worth the lost weapons. So i ignored him to, after putting it on my To-Kill-list. Just you wait...
So now i’m in the mountains. Snow everywhere. The air is freezing. Hm. I drank a potion for some heat, and also equiped the fire sword. Those fire and ice weapons are so usefull, really. Ice weapons drop the temperature around you, so you can run through the desert without many problems, and fire weapons heat you up, so it’s not too cold for you. With this, i was able to climb the mountain.
Tumblr media
Of course you can find Koroks here, too. Right, #41? You love running around, right?
There are Lizalfos all over the place here. Black ones, especially. But lucky for me, they are carrying good weapons! And after killing one, the others weren’t to bad either. Some Ice-Lizalfos live here, too, but you know what? Those are super-easy to kill. They really hate fire, and i have a fire sword, so... well, they melted pretty quick. I think i will use this place to stock up with some good weapons if i need any.
Tumblr media
I love to bomb the slimes, yes. Why do you ask?
Finally, at the top of the mountain, i found...
Tumblr media
...a dragon. But Ganon hat taken controll of him, so it was up to me to help him. Four big eyes were on his body, and i had to shoot an arrow in every last one of them. While following this big boy through the air. It took me a few minutes and even more arrows, but it wasn’t too hard.
Tumblr media
Saved a dragon! But wait... pierce Naydras body?!
I was allowed to shoot the dragon Naydra once again. It... might sound stupid, after helping him, but don’t worry - you can’t kill these legendary creatures. Instead, you can get some rare materials from them - parts of their body. Scales, Fangs, tooths, and... horns, i think. Sounds about right. In this case, i got a scale, which i threw into the spring, for the ritual, which opened the path to a shrine - the Jitah-Sami-Shrine (still german!).
Tumblr media
You shot a dragon, have some loot!
This is the first shrine with some free loot! No further puzzles awaits, just a chest and the Spirit Orb. The chest held an ice lance, but my inventory was full, so... i’ll come back later when i need it. Like when i want to visit the gorons.
Southeast of the top of the mountain is another shrine. A quest in Hateno tells you about it, but it’s a riddle you have to solve. But since i played the game once, i know the solution, so i got there fairly quick, after finding another Korok.
Tumblr media
Woooh, snowboarding! (#42)
As this shrine has to be found with a riddle, it’s another free shrine, so more loot for me! With the Thano-A-Shrine (german!), i had cleared 13 shrines now, so more than 10% of them are done! Yay!
I have to admit, i thought about teleporting back to Kakariko at this point. I mean, i said i didn’t want to, and i still don’t like the idea, but... the game is long, and the teleporting helps to shorten the time to reach some places. I want to play other games, too, like Pokemon Sword which i had bought today, too. Maybe i’ll tell you about my journey there, too, but... that’s another story. But i wanted to do some more exploration, so i decided to walk back to Kakariko. All the way over the mountains. Am i crazy? A bit. Maybe.
Day 15 dawned, and on my way i found various Koroks, and one of them was unobtainable for me. I mean, i could have get him, but... far too much work, if you ask me. Maybe i come back later for him, but don’t pin me down on that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Koroks #43, #44 and #45. Apples, swiming, stone on top of a mountain. Why always on top of mountains, you stupid...?!
I also found some Octoplatforms. With blue Lizalfos, this time. It was quite a mess to get them down, but i managed somehow, and oooh boy, look what i found.
Tumblr media
Am i a king now?
A kings sword with wooping 56 damage. This is the most powerful weapon i found yet in this playthrough, and i don’t think i will find something as powerful anytime soon. Jackpot, i guess.
Also, beneath this lake, behind a waterfall, was another Shrine, the Dauc-Nae-Shrine (german). I was able to solve the puzzle very quick, so i got my 14th Spirit Orb.
I fought my way back through the waterway, to reach Kakariko, but was distracted by... something big.
Tumblr media
Okay, Wind? What? Where... HELLO DRAGON! OUCH!
...it was a bit weird, but hey, i got a claw from him. And killed the Lizalfos. And... guess what, found more Koroks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
#46 likes rocks, too. His was on a destroyed fountain. And #47 likes water.
Somehow Naydra returned while i wanted to get to #47. It was a bit strange, and this time i missed him, but... whatever. If i need more materials i will come back later.
I had left Fiona around here a few days ago, but she was still doing fine. So with the start of day 16, i rode back to Kakariko, stopping by the fairy to upgrade the Climbing Boots i had found in the last shrine. I also got some more fairys to protect me from death!
Tumblr media
Maybe the wildlife could need some fairies, too. Oops...
I told Impa about the returning memories, and in return she gave me the heroes tunic. It’s one of the strongest tops in the game, and it gives you the ability to see the HP of the enemies. Its really helpful, especially if you want to know how much damage you dealt or have to deal to kill them.
I upgraded my new gear, too, and sold a few more items, so i could buy myself a house soon. I have 3000 Rupees now, but... i might still need some of them, so i will not buy my house immediatly. Maybe when i have like 3500. I don’t know. But it’ll be very soon, i promise!
I also did some quests in Kakariko - the artist who was searching for the fairys pond wanted to see a picture of it, so i made one for him. He didn’t give me something in return, but from now on i can show him the pictures Zelda had made in the past, and he will tell me where i could search for them. Believe me, if you play the game the first time this is extremely helpful because sometimes it’s pretty hard to find the right spots.
And do you remember the little girl in need of some honey? I finally gave it to her! And look what she made!
Tumblr media
Yummy!
With this, i had done every of her requests, and now she wants to become a chief! You can do it, little child, i believe in you!
But... thats for it! Next goal is... the forest of the Koroks, maybe? So i can upgrade my inventory even more. That could be helpful, yeah. And after that... well, we’ll see. Hyrule is big, and there is still much too discover.
Regarding the fights: i hate them in Master Mode. Its really annoying to slay an enemy with a good weapon, just to get something like... a Boko stick with 4 damage or something. Nice. Worth it. Not. And that happens way to often. The fights on the mountain were much more rewarding, because you were able to keep fighting with the weapons you got there. So... maybe it’ll get better in the future. You’ll hear about it soon!
Thanks again for reading this! I hope you enjoyed it! :D

Shadows of the Future | Chapter 47
Rusl and the Champions hurried through the city, battling their way through enemy troops as they desperately tried to reach Zelda. When the golden light that shrouded Ganondorf disappeared, they turned their panicked gazes towards the palace, fearing the worst for Zelda. But to their surprise, she was not alone, and they caught sight of the familiar blond hair of Hyrule’s Hero.
Rusl’s knees weakened from the relief that washed through him, but he could not afford an opportunity to celebrate his son’s miraculous and inexplicable survival. Their distraction did not come without a cost as they were quickly surrounded by another wave of enemies. Rusl threw himself in front of the Champions in an attempt to shield them from further attacks, taking a rusted sword into his shoulder. Daruk’s shield erected around them and Revali dragged Rusl back into Daruk’s protection as Urbosa sprung forth, quickly finishing the hoard with a violent and electrifying attack.
They pressed onward, hurrying towards the palace to come to the defense of the heroes as the beast emerged. For a moment, they were out of the battle, and they watched in stunned horror as the beast rampaged about. Daruk moved to hurry forward, but Rusl pulled him backwards, growling at him to stay out of their way. Though they didn’t want to stand by helplessly and watch the battle, the Champions knew that only Link and Zelda could finish it and end the war once and for all.
And to their relief, the heroes did. They had to shield their eyes as the light shot through the city. When it subsided, they looked up at the palace from the street below, just as Link and Zelda collapsed to the ground. The Champions sprinted forward toward their friends, leaving Rusl behind to stare at the scene. After a moment, he choked back a sob of relief and radioed in for a med flight. Once he received confirmation that help was on its way to Zelda and Link, he took a moment to distract himself, inspecting the rather unfortunate stab wound he had received on his shoulder.
The wound had been bleeding heavily, but had since slowed. Still, it was fresh and vulnerable to infection, so he tore at his shirt and pressed it against his shoulder. Sheikah and Hyrulean soldiers hurried up the road behind him, making their way to the palace to check on the heroes. With one last glance toward the palace, Rusl turned and made his way back to rejoin his comrades. And perhaps get a proper bandage for his throbbing wound.
His phone rang as he walked through the city. Seeing Riju’s name on the screen, he answered it quickly and smiled when his daughter’s voice came through.
“Riju said we won!” Aryll said excitedly. “Did we win, Daddy? Are you and Link coming home now?”
“Hyrule one, Ganondorf zip,” he said. He looked up as the helicopters soared over head towards the palace. “Let me talk to Riju.”
The phone shuffled before Riju’s voice came on the line. “‘Sup, Chief?” she said cheerily. “All’s quiet on the western front. I loaded Ary up with sugar and she’s ready for her return.”
Rusl pinched the bridge of his nose. “I warned you not to do that,” he said. “Now she’s going to be a little Gremlin.”
Riju giggled. “Not my problem, now!”
“Actually,” Rusl started, and Riju groaned. “Can you keep her occupied for a bit longer?”
“I suppose,” Riju said. “What’s in it for me?”
“I don’t kick your ass.”
“Ah,” Riju said with an understanding tone. “That’s where Link gets it from.”
“I gotta get to the hospital,” he continued. “I’ll text you later and you can bring her down.”
Riju frowned. “You know,” she said. “I get to kick your ass if something happens to my sister.”
“That’s Link’s department, not mine,” he said. “She’s fine. I’m fine, too, thanks.”
“Yeah, sure, I’ll tell Aryll,” she said. “Hit me up later.”
“Hit me up?” Rusl repeated questioningly.
“Oh, come on,” Riju shouted at him. “Even my grandma knows what that means!”
“Goodbye, Riju,” he said before ending the call.
After the long awaited threat of Ganondorf’s return, he was defeated and sealed away once more. The battle was over. The war was won, and Hyrule was safe from his threats once more. Hyrule’s Chosen Heroes and their Champions were victorious, if not a little worse for wear.
Rusl, however, was disinterested in their victory. While Hyrulean and Sheikah soldiers hurried about, healing the wounded and accounting for their men, Rusl’s mind was on his son as he pushed through the clusters of men until he finally, almost quite literally, stumbled upon Impa. She scoured at him at first, then her gaze softened as she let a hand rest on his arm.
“I suppose you’re looking for that son of yours.”
“Is he alright?”
Impa hesitated. “I’m sure he will be fine, but he and Zelda were out cold when my men got to them. They were rushed to the hospital for observation, but are otherwise uninjured.”
Rusl stepped passed her quickly, but Impa shouted after him.
“Get that shoulder looked at!”
He had almost completely forgotten about his own wound, but his son took priority, and he tried desperately to ignore the pain as it crept over him once more. Between the pain and his worries, his mind felt clouded, his body on autopilot as he somehow managed to navigate away from the battlefield and through the city to the hospital.
He should have expected the hospital would have been buzzing from the sudden onslaught of patients, both soldiers and civilians. But still, it overwhelmed him. All he wanted to do was see Link and make sure he was alive. It took some time, but he finally managed to track down a nurse who pointed him in the right direction, and before he knew it, he was standing before a closed door, his hand hovering over the handle.
His heart dropped. It was six years ago when he stood before a similar door. His dying wife lay in the room just on the other side. He couldn’t shake the image of her frail body lying in the bed, wires connecting her to machines that tracked her weakening vitals.
He swallowed. Link was not dying. He pushed the door open and hesitated. The sight didn’t seem all that different. But instead, the heart monitor beeped rhythmically, indicating a strong pulse. An IV drip kept him hydrated in his unconscious state, but otherwise, he was alive, and he was well.
Rusl let the door close softly behind him. It took him a moment to work up the strength to step further into the room. He slowly made his way to the edge of the bed, then dropped into the chair beside it. He studied Link’s steady breathing for a moment, allowing his own pulse to slow, relieved now that he had proof that his son was still alive.
He let his fingers brush against Link’s forehead. His skin was warm. His hand moved to brush his hair out of his face, then moved through his hair as he had always done when he was younger. Link’s ears twitched slightly, but otherwise, he did not stir. Rusl fought a breath passed his tightening throat, then leaned his forehead against Link, his eyes closing. He let a single tear escape his hold, kissed his head, then pulled away from his son, getting to his feet.
The pain in his shoulder had intensified in that moment, and he knew he needed to get it treated. He held his gaze on Link for a moment longer, stirring only when the door opened behind him. He sensed the presence of a Sheikah, and his first thought was to sneer at Dorian, but he quickly realized the presence did not belong to Dorian. He glanced over his shoulder as Cado stood in the doorway.
“He’ll wake up soon,” Cado said in hopes of reassuring Rusl.
Rusl hesitated. He hadn’t seen Cado since he and Uli escaped the Yiga ambush just after Link was born. After he resigned, he lost contact with just about everyone but Dorian, too focused on being a father and protecting his son.
“He has a lot of Uli’s features,” Cado continued conversationally. “But I’d say he definitely takes after you.”
Rusl glanced at Link. “I’m not sure how to take that,” he said softly.
Cado smiled. When Rusl turned his attention back to him, he nodded to Rusl’s shoulder. “I don’t know if I’ll be able to help much with that. My power’s a bit worn thin.”
“I don’t need it,” Rusl said. He moved toward Cado and they stepped out into the hall.
“You’ll need a hell of a lot of stitches.”
Rusl glanced at his shoulder and sighed through his nose. He supposed he would have to get it taken care of.
Cado put a hand on his shoulder and smiled. “Don’t go anywhere,” he said. “I’ll find a nurse to help your dumb ass.”
Rusl smiled in thanks, then watched as the Sheikah disappeared in the bustling crowd. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and selected Riju’s name from his contact list.
Hitting you up, he typed.
Her response came quickly. And?
All good. He hesitated. I can take Ary off your hands if you want to bring her by. May be here for a while. In truth, he wanted the company of his optimistic daughter, and he was sure Riju would want to find her sister.
Aye aye, capn, came Riju’s response. After a moment, another text came through; a selfie that Aryll clearly took of herself, with Riju grinning excitedly behind her and giving Aryll bunny ears with her fingers. And then another message popped up.
We’re walking. Roads are closed.
It would be some time before they got to the hospital. Rusl turned his attention to the media coverage on the tv screens above one of the nurse’s stations and sighed.
