As the World Wizard Entertainment tournament finalists attempt to fireball their way to victory, I think it is not too early to announce the winner of a special award. The title of Archmage of Congeniality is given to the wizard who has most made this competition enjoyable.
Given that these wizards are fictional characters who are not literally participating in a tournament and interacting with one another, this title actually recognizes a contingent of fans who have dedicated themselves to enthusiastic fannish participation, passionate fandom fun, and positive engagement in the course of campaigning for their chosen wizard.
With maverick strategy that highlighted her prodigious bust size, called on the legacy of Exandria's greatest mage slayer, leveraged the relationship with her opponent and arcane mentor, and created many delightful new fanworks, the supporters of this wizard exemplified the spirit of campaigning for one's fave to win meaningless polls in a way that was constructive and uplifting and that brightened our dashboards with whimsy and passion.
In recognition of the spell of joy and delight that this wizard's supporters cast on this small corner of the fanspace during this silly series of polls, I bestow on Veth Brenatto the title of Archmage of Congeniality of the World Wizard Entertainment tournament.
Congratulations to Archmage Brenatto and especially (with all the loving sincerity in the world) to her fans and supporters who made this competition surreal, unexpected, and more enjoyable than it had any right to be.
One level in wizard goes a very, very long way. Live, Love, Veth.
To break character, though I have done quite a bit already in this post, and at the risk of repeating a lot of a post I made earlier today: I am full of genuine love for all of you who contributed to #VethSweep posting and made this tournament incredibly entertaining. I am also so excited for the Veth fans amidst this outpouring of support and shenanigans in her name—I hope some of this energy sticks around and adds to your ranks. All that I've said in this grandiose speech is all so very sincere, and my heart is full of joy and delight this evening.
Veth is not the grand final winner of the tournament, but she is absolutely and thoroughly the winner of our hearts.
#Critical Role things#World Wizard Entertainment#VethSweep#Yes I had this photoshopped and written in advance.#YES i am posting this BEFORE the final is called bc the Veth campaigning has been a DELIGHT

TW: S**ualizing minor characters
In the Eternitydev document Kaiden claims that Eternitydev s**ualizes minor characters. He provides screenshots as evidence so I'll start with the first screenshot:
Eternitydev also has a few aliases, MrDrnose, Cursed Ariral, and Shameless Ariral, just to name a few. The person in this screenshot is not Eternitydev. Eternitydev goes by many names and many profiles, this however, is not one of them. The profile picture isn't in Eternitydev's artstyle and Eternitydev does not have a character that looks remotely like this. Kaiden did not provide any other screenshots, or even say where Eternitydev himself says that he made Angell a minor. This screenshot is about as good of evidence as Kaiden just saying that he believes Angell is 14.
Here is a screenshot of MrDrnose saying Angell's age and why.
Also something the note, yes he did make this long after the "stick joke" was added. The reason why I believe this over Kaiden's screenshot is that for one, this is a way that MrDrnose usually speaks, using slang and abbreviations. The profile picture is also not drawn in an artstyle that MrDrnose doesn't have, and both the profile picture and the username relate to Erie like a few other of his accounts, so this would be a plausible alias. Also, here is a screenshot from MrDrnose himself saying that they (assuming Angell and Olivia) were made adults ages ago.
Now I should bring up the whole reason why Angell's age is being talked about, the stick joke.
The text says "this thing is moist and sweet but not a candy. Really weird." Implying that Angell licked the "stick". Based on the fact that I had to censor this, I think you know why this could be bad. This also only happened once, there was also no evidence that MrDrnose made graphic imagery or descriptions of Angell created before or after. The argument that MrDrnose ***ualizes minor characters is based solely off this one line and a discord channel's name (that one's on discord so I can't confirm or disprove it).
Something that Kaiden also didn't mention is how old MrDrnose was. Based on the time AEwVS was being made, MrDrnose was about 16-18 when making this joke. He was not an adult making this joke about a child, he was a teenager writing this about another teenager.
Saying this as a person who also has/had a weird sense of humor, the joke here is either how blatent/graphic the stick was while also not explicitly saying what it was, or how dumb someone would have to be to not know what it is. Leaning towards the former. Basically the joke is not "child licks a *** toy". Yes I do think this joke was also done badly.
This was also 4-6 years ago. This was one gross line written by a 16 year old about another 16 year old (assuming Angell isn't 18) in a joking context 4-6 years ago. It shouldn't be relevant now, especially because the only other evidence they have is one discord channel's name.
Also, this is a game where you can eat dead rats, get impaled, boiled alive, dismembered, reassemble a dead body, and just generally has a lot of photoshopped violence (especially the older versions). The very least you can do is make the victim of these crimes slightly older.
I don't hate/blame Eternitydev for that now. Advanced Education with Viktor Strobovski, Alex's Basics in Biology and Zoology and other games like it were made years ago and he seems to not include graphic g-ry stuff in any of his new content.

Into the Mystic
Pairing: Josh x f!reader
Warning: 18+ MINORS DO NOT ENGAGE, swearing, oral (m receiving), unprotected sex
Word Count: 2.3k
Summary: You lie and tell Josh you don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day hoping to surprise him in the best way
Notes: Part three of my lil V-day series. Sweet romantic song that makes me think of Josh and all I listened to while writing this. Yes I know it’s past Valentine’s Day, just roll with it.
-
“So, I told the guys I wasn’t going to the studio tomorrow and I figured we could see where the day took us!” Josh expressed as he jumped over the back of the couch, plopping down next to you and spilling a few pieces of popcorn from the bowl in his hand.
“What’s so special about tomorrow?” You asked as you picked up the fallen pieces of the salty snack.
“It’s our first Valentine’s Day together!”
Your face fell as you had to pull out your best acting skills. “Josh I’m so sorry, I completely forgot. And it’s too short notice to call into work.” You felt as if someone had punched a hole in your chest as his bright smile fell to a tight-lipped grin. “Plus, if I’m being honest, Valentine’s Day is just a scam created by the government to make couples feel like they’re doing a shitty job at being in love.”
You wanted to punch yourself in the face when his eyes filled with unspoken disappointment. You weren’t necessarily lying, you did think Valentine’s Day was a bogus holiday. However, you had no issues celebrating it if it meant spending the entire day showering Josh with love and affection. He always liked to shine importance on all your ‘firsts’ as a couple. First date, first kiss, first time listening to music together, first impromptu late-night drive, first time. He made sure to make a big deal of it all, no matter how insignificant it may seem to others.
You had met Josh May of last year and began dating in June, so you knew he would be wanting to celebrate February 14th. That’s why you’ve had a plan for months, asking for the day off weeks in advance. The plans were simple, as Josh was a simple man - dinner, music, maybe a romantic bath that would lead to more.
“That’s fine, I’ll just go to the studio. Maybe we can still have dinner?” His voice was strained like he was holding back what he really wanted to say. You nodded, giving him a quick peck on the cheek before turning back to the movie playing on the TV.
You really wanted to punch yourself in the face.
-
When you wake up to the morning sun shining through the window you stretched your limbs, hand landing on the cold sheets that Josh usually kept warm. You rolled on your side, seeing a red envelope with your name scribbled on the front, perched against Josh’s pillow. You giggled quietly to yourself upon opening the envelope. A photo of a dog with a cartoon smile photoshopped over the mouth adorned the front of the card. ‘I Woof You’ written in a text bubble. The inside of the card had a cheesy prewritten sentence, but Josh had written his own words below it.
Y/N,
I know you said you don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, however, I still wanted to give you this card. I say this often, but I love you. I will never turn down an opportunity to tell you that. I thank all the stars in the night sky I was given the privilege to have you in my life. You are the moon to my sun, without you I would not be able to shine another day. I would cross a thousand oceans just to see your smile. You mean more to me than I could ever express. Words fail me whenever I think of you and how much you’ve changed my life for the better. Anyways, I hope you have a lovely day at work and I will see you tonight!
All my love,
Joshua Michael
You placed the card on your nightstand, getting up to start your day with a permanent smile. You planned to clean the house, between Josh constantly being in the studio and you working overtime, the two of you were too exhausted to keep up on daily household chores.
After ridding the fridge of all expired products, you made your way to the grocery store. The plan was to make Josh’s favorite dinner and dessert - without screwing it up - that Karen had told you hasn’t changed in years. You texted him at noon, asking how his day was going and thanking him for the card. He replied quickly, a simple ‘you’re welcome. Be home around 5.’ The frustrated groan you let out in the middle of the baking aisle got a few weird looks. All you could hope is that when Josh got home and saw your surprise, he’d understand.
Before heading back home, you stopped at the local florist because who said you can’t buy men flowers. They were out of almost every flower so you ended up getting him a bouquet of red Amaryllis flowers. Groceries unloaded and flowers in a vase, you had three hours before Josh got home.
-
You went over the checklist in your head one more time, making sure everything was set. The record player in the living room hummed quietly, one of Josh’s Aretha Franklin albums playing. The sound of a car door shutting brought you back to the present, lighting a few candles to help aid in the romantic ambiance. You don’t even wait for him to have both feet through the door before you yelled out.
“Happy Valentine’s Day!”
He looked like a deer caught in headlights, mouth opening and closing as he tried to process what was going on. You watched as his eyes moved all across the room, from the table with two plates of food, the flowers and a card to the kitchen counter where red velvet cupcakes were plated nicely and finally back to you.
“I thought you didn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day?”
“I lied.” You shrugged your shoulders casually. “Wanted to surprise you.” His face softened, a gentle smile replaced the open and close motion of his mouth. He closed the distance between the two of you, pulling you into a bone-crushing hug.
“I love you.”
The force of his embrace knocked the air from your lungs. “I love you too bub, but I can’t breathe.” He loosened his grip but didn’t let go. You moved your arms that had been pinned at your side and wrapped them around his neck, running your fingers through his curls.
Josh placed a sweet kiss on your neck, pulling his face back but keeping his hands on your waist. He didn’t hesitate to put his lips on yours, noses gently nudging as you moved to deepen the kiss. A soft hum left you when his tongue licked at your bottom lip. Josh broke the kiss to grip the back of your thighs, lifting you up and wrapping your legs around his waist.
You giggled into his neck as he lead you away from the table and towards your shared bedroom. “Josh, the food is going to get cold!” You truly didn’t care, you just wanted to tease his impatience.
“While I greatly appreciate everything you’ve done, I couldn’t give less of a fuck about food temperature right now. Just want to show you how much you mean to me.” As soon as you felt the soft material of the carpet between your toes your hands were working to get his clothes off, pants bunching at his ankles and shirt being thrown in a random direction.
When he was left completely naked he went to grab the hem of your dress but you stopped him. He tilted his head in confusion as you just smiled and pushed him to sit on the edge of the bed. You usually didn’t care about ‘acting sexy’, knowing Josh found you gorgeous no matter the time of day, but you couldn’t deny the thrill of excitement that ran up your spine knowing what Josh’s reaction would be.
Underneath the simple gray dress, you wore was a lacey baby blue matching set, two pink bows on either strap of the bra. You had only worn lingerie once before, it was the only time you felt as if you held some power over Josh. You delicately ran your fingers from your neck, in between the valley of your breasts, over your stomach, and stopping at the hem of your dress. You took a deep breath before removing the clothing.
A hand covered your mouth to stifle a laugh as Josh’s eyes widened and jaw went slack. The focus of your weight on your toes as you made your way towards your boyfriend. Your hands were placed on the tops of his thighs as you bent down until you were at eye level with him. “You’ve got a little drool there.” Thumb coming up to run along his bottom lip.
“Can you really blame me?” His voice was airy and his chest was covered in a blush. Before you could shift your position down to your knees, he stopped you with a hand cupping your jaw. “Just let me look at you for a second.” He ran his thumb down your neck, over the tops of your breasts, stopping to brush over one of your nipples.
“Let me make it up for lying to you. Can I?”
“Please.” he groaned as his back hit the mattress. With his feet still on the ground, you dropped down to your knees, spreading his thighs so you could move between them. You pressed a kiss to his tip, smiling to yourself when Josh gasped.
He pushed his head further into the mattress when you took the first few inches of him in your mouth, moving your hand along the rest of his cock that wasn’t occupied by your mouth. A mixture of expletives and your name passed through his lips. His right hand tangled in your hair as his left had a tight grip on the sheets.
When you took the rest of him in your mouth he bucked his hips, causing you to gag. He whined when you placed your forearm over his hips, effectively ceasing his movements. “You’re mean.” He breathed out, a moan following close behind when you hummed around him.
You looked up at him through your lashes, seeing his forehead all but adjacent with the headboard and his chest rising and falling quickly. Josh never admitted it out loud, not wanting to give you too much power over him, but your mouth could have him falling apart in seconds if he didn’t actively stop himself from coming. Today was no different as you felt his abdomen flex, signaling he was close.
“Mama, if you don’t get up here this night will be over fairly quick.” You pulled off him with a quiet pop, giving him one last kitten lick at his tip before standing up. Josh sat up then and began sliding the baby blue panties down your legs. “As stunning as you look in this.” He placed a kiss just below your navel. “I want to see all of you, my beloved.”
You removed the bra, letting the soft straps graze down the length of your arms. He pulled you by your hips until you were straddling him. His hands grabbed at the meat of your thighs, giving them a soft squeeze.
“Ride me, mama.” He grinned widely, giving you a quick peck on your lips before mumbling a quiet ‘please.’ You adjusted yourself until you could slowly sink down on his cock. His eyes rolled back and his jaw went slack as you began grinding your hips. Josh reached up to grab your jaw, bringing you down in a bruising kiss.
The kiss was brief before you pulled back, placing your hands on his chest and pushing him back into the mattress. You kept your hands on his chest to use as leverage as you brought your hips up and down on him. His eyes stayed locked on your form as you tilted your head back to look up at the ceiling, his hands reaching up to massage your breasts between his palms, harshly pulling at your nipples whenever you clenched around him.
You had put all your focus on Josh’s pleasure, so when you felt the warmth start to spread throughout your lower stomach you cried out. It seemed Josh could tell as well, the clenching of your walls around him giving you away. He wrapped an arm around your waist, resting his hands on the top of your ass, and pulled himself up. With his feet planted on the bedroom floor, he used his strength to bring you up and down on his cock - his own hips raising to meet yours.
“Fuck, Josh - oh shit.” You moaned above him, fingernails digging into his shoulders for support.
“How does my cock feel? Tell me how it feels mama.” He urged, bouncing you on him harsher now. He felt as your walls drew him in deeper with each thrust.
“So good, always so good.” You whimpered, biting down on his shoulder to muffle your screams, Josh hissing at the sting.
“So close, just hold on a little longer.” He begged. Your knees were pressed into the mattress to help with the movements. Your clit rubbed against his stomach as he ground into you, you’re sure your nails have left scratch marks down his biceps but you’re too blissed out to care.
“Josh I can’t, I’m coming.” He could feel your walls pulsing around him, your arousal coating his cock as you cum around him. The sounds of your moans and the way your pussy pulled him in deeper had him finishing deep inside you, moaning your name loud enough to make you flinch at the volume.
When you had both come down from your highs, he fell back onto the mattress, pulling you down with him. All that could be heard was your deep breathing and the clicking of the ceiling fan.
“I’m hungry.”
“Told you we should eat dinner first.”
“I love you, mama.”
“I love you too, Josh.”

Season 8, Episode 10: Old Love, New Love, Is This True Love
All right, so...like I said, work has picked up and my eyes feel like old marbles from staring at numbers (the woes of working in accounting I guess) so I want to get this written up and tossed into the nether before I lose steam and motivation to do it. The interesting thing about these little write-ups is that as the week goes on they just get harder and harder to write...
I do apologize in advance to those who like the long-winded write-ups. I’m just not up to it at the moment. Still feeling kind of bleh from the episode.
Let’s go back to an old format, shall we?
The Good
We might as well start out with the things about this episode that I enjoyed!
Gossip Hour with the Men was one of the best openers they’ve had on the show in a while. It was genuinely funny without being meanspirited. Nobody looked like the bad guy. Everyone just calmly talked about it alike it was a normal thing to maybe call off the wedding. Bill calling out Carson for giving marriage advice was pretty funny, Mike was a delight. I don’t know what to say. I’d watch a whole episode of The Boys just hanging around spending time together.
--
Florence’s worry that she’s ugly was...not a terrible idea for a storyline, but the actress is too good-looking to pretend to be ugly (I saw her in this pretty yellow dress on Instagram a couple years ago and she was smashing)? Also, it’s not like Ned is a handsomely aged gentleman (like Henry lol) so it makes even less sense for the characters. I think they should have gone with Florence feeling she’s “plain” and that dressing up Super Nice makes her feel uncomfortable because she just doesn’t feel like Herself and worries maybe it’s projecting a false sense of Who She Is or something? I guess overall I still liked that an attempt was made to add some depth to Florence and her difficulties in choosing a dress/hairstyle, so...it goes here.
--
Ned asking Henry to be his best man was nice, too. I can forgive the shoddy pacing and weird placement of this request (like I do with almost everything in the show) but only because the scene was just...so incredibly wholesome.
I like how Henry just casually is like, “Well maybe today’s just not the day.” I think it eased Ned’s mind just a little that he CAN back out if he really wants to.
I think it’s worth thinking about the fact that Ned and Henry would have always worked very closely, since the mercantile would have been a company store before the mine closed down... I like Henry and Ned as pals.
--
I’m glad the “investment” thing with Jesse and Clara’s savings was brought up in a way that...makes sense. And also, glad it wasn’t forgotten.
--
I really liked Molly and Florence in this episode. I’m a little sad Florence married Ned because I AM SORRY BUT I WANTED TO KEEP SHIPPING MOLLY AND FLORENCE TOGETHER UGHGHGHH
But their relationship is so good and maYBE Elizabeth will learn something from them.
Hey Elizabeth...you see that?
YOU SEE THAT?
Just saying.
And then later...
“You are the sister I never had, the mother I forever wanted, the friend I have always needed. From the depths of those dark and terrifying coal mines you’ve walked beside me, picking me up whenever I’ve stumbled along the way.”
AAAAAAAAA IT GOT ME.
--
I’m...really liking Fiona and Mike’s relationship, whatever it is. I kind of think they’re not headed toward anything romantic. Everyone thinks Mike is really into Fiona but at the end of the episode we realize he likes talking to her about business; it’s almost like they have this shared passion for numbers/ideas and he likes infodumping to her (and vice-versa).
I think they’re going to end up being “just friends” and Fiona will end up paired off with the man Elizabeth doesn’t choose. They hinted at Nathan briefly in this episode (with Allie’s hair), but who knows? I’m over trying to speculate on where the triangle is going at this point, but I actually like Fiona’s relationship with Mike so much that I’ll be disappointed if she fades into the background with Nathan or Lucas. Mike deserves more screentime.
--
Ned and Florence sharing their fIRST KISS. My husband got emotional over this. And I admit, it was starting to get to me, too. I can’t NOT root for them.
--
I said it before and I’ll say it again: I WOULD DIE FOR THE CANFIELDS.
--
The wedding was nice. I liked that Bill and Joseph officiated it together; it gives Joseph a li’l trial run of pastoring and finally Bill gets to use some of that power of his to officiate a wedding.
“Please, if you’d like” is such a Bill way to say that they may kiss LOL.
--
Also, I have to admit that I did enjoy Lucas calling Nathan out about Allie. She wouldn’t be caught in the middle if he’d leave Elizabeth alone AND HE IS RIGHT LMAO.
The last good thing: Elizabeth telling Nathan she doesn’t blame him for Jack’s death. Nice. Good. Thank you. He probably needed to hear that.
--
...THE BAD
Carson and Faith. UGH. UGHHHHHHHHHH. BREAK UP ALREADY I HATE YOU BOTH.
I appreciated that Carson had the ring ages ago, and I did like his conversation with Minnie—or more accurately, her advice to him. I felt like she was nudging him toward, “Remember why you became a surgeon in the first place.” If he became a surgeon to help people, then there’s no reason he can’t help people where he is. Sure, he might not be doing state of the art procedures but with Faith working alongside him, he can afford time to learn new things and go to doctor conventions or even take a specialized class now and then. No other doctor could get away for very long but he has that chance!
And he’ll arguably be doing more good in the middle of nowhere than in the city. All the doctors want to live in the city. Nobody wants to barely get paid for their time in the countryside.
We had a whole episode that made it clear that Faith and Carson don’t make a lot of money and do a lot of charity work. They also work for trade goods (mostly food). So it’s like...a pretty big difference in lifestyle?
Half the reason I can’t get invested in these characters is because I really can’t stand Paul Greene. He just...annoys me on every single level imaginable. But he’s a decent actor and I can’t help but feel that his character was a massive waste of space for the past few seasons through no fault of the man himself. Imagine introducing a character like Carson and then leaving him to rot before you try to make him interesting with a romance plot that nobody asked for.
Yes, some people really like Faith and Carson, but as a whole I think the fandom didn’t buy into them as a ship due to the lack of chemistry.
It really is a shame. This episode didn’t do a thing to endear me to either character. Please, Carson. I am begging you to leave town.
--
This one particular line of dialogue almost enraged me.
WE KNOW WE KNOW WE KNOW WE KNOW WE CAN SEE THAT FOR OURSELVES. WHY DID THEY HAVE ROSEMARY SAY THIS LIKE IT’S AN EPISODE OF A CHILD’S TV SHOW?
--
Elizabeth.........
How could Katie have...looked up to her? She was never in her class? That was? Never part of anything? It was just something they threw in here to force Elizabeth to make 1% more sense in the role she’s in but IT STILL DOESN’T WORK.
I felt like I was back in Season 5 again with Lori and Elizabeth putting their nose in everyone’s business except it’s just Elizabeth!! The whole plot, which was boring and contrived anyway, should have gone to Molly, since she’s Florence’s best friend and another woman from town that Katie would have known as a child.
AND ALSO, MOLLY WOULD HAVE KNOWN KATIE’S MOTHER AND WOULD REMEMBER THE GRIEF THAT NED STRUGGLED WITH.
I know they wanted to make Elizabeth give advice so that she’d Realize that she needs to, I don’t know, make better choices or something, but it was too on the nose for me and I hated it.
GinithePooh on Reddit made a good comparison to Elizabeth in this episode by saying she reminded them of Clippy from Microsoft Word, always popping up and offering to help when nobody really needs or wants advice.
To honor their incredible idea, I opened Photoshop and created this gem, which I will also be posting separately so that people can reblog it if they wish to.
I also don’t think I need to say also filed under The Bad is the fact that Elizabeth didn’t even apologize for being awful to Rosemary and then gave her unsolicited advice to other people for two days straight. I can’t believe they wrote that?
All I can say is that her apology to Rosemary, when it comes, better be good.
--
And I didn’t like this either:
I wish it had been followed up by literally anything: Nathan saying he’s sorry he didn’t tell her sooner or something to make the hand-holding actually be a little more innocent.
As it is, it just seems so deliberate?
Maybe the next episode starts off right in this scene and we’ll get that? If so, this might actually end up being fine. I just don’t think it is if it doesn’t get a little more direct attention.
--
& THE UGLY
I debated on putting anything in here, because I’m not ready to talk about my feelings on this matter, at least not fully. But I’ve been pretty quiet all season so far, and...eh, why not just mention things in advance? What will it hurt?
Let me preface this section by saying I’m biased and I doubt hardly anyone on this site will agree with me, so feel free to just ignore this part if that’s the case.
There are two things that I really didn’t like in this episode.
I hate the slanting toward Bill/Molly.
I like Molly just fine but I don’t like her with Bill. I’m biased as all getout and also worried about the future/potential Season 9 with regards to this. I don’t want to see it. Like at all. Why, you ask? You should know why if you follow me. I’m super transparent.
It’s because I like AJ AND I WANT HER BACK LOL.
John Tinker rewatched the series so we know he wouldn’t have missed that hanging plot thread—especially since he didn’t forget any of the other things that were brought up this season! So why didn’t she appear this season? The love triangle absolutely needed to be a focus or it would have never ended, so that’s part of it, but I’m also pretty sure Josie Bissett wasn’t interested in doing any filming last year during Covid. My only “proof” is that Wedding March 6 wasn’t filmed last year even though it was scheduled to be filmed, but it makes sense. Last year was chaos.
THAT SAID, Jack Wagner posted on his Instagram the other day that they are actually filming Wedding March 6 now, so... I guess AJ’s re-appearance in Season 9 wouldn’t come as too much of a surprise if they wanted to write it.
You’d think I’d be hyped about that, and I kind of am? But it doesn’t come without its share of worries, too. We just had the worst love triangle in the history of love triangles and I really don’t want another one, especially if it makes any of the characters in question look stupid or mean.
I fully admit a well-written love triangle could be a LOT of fun for them* (low stakes because they’re not front and center characters), but I saw how Nathan was written so far this season and I really, REALLY do not want to see that happen to Molly, Bill, or AJ.
Anyway, not a fan of the Molly/Bill stuff. No chemistry. I don’t want it.
*I would totally write a fanfic like this lmao.
--
And finally...the part that everyone will hate me for:
I DO NOT WANT TO SEE ABIGAIL COME BACK. And I specifically do not want her to come back ‘cause I do not wanna see Henry/Abigail happen.
I fully recognize that a lot of you like it and ship the heck out of it, and that’s...good. I’m glad you enjoy it. I loathe it, though, and I worry that all these hints (more like...mentions) are leaning toward...something. Like, either they’re:
1) Sending Abigail off/tying up that loose end with Henry (since nothing was ever clarified either way), or
2) Warming up the audience to receive Abigail back on the show.
I’m pretty into the idea of one-sided Henry/Abigail. Hindsight is 20/20, regrets, that’s all some juicy stuff to give a character like Henry. Some things can’t ever be made right again. He had too direct of a connection to the death of her husband and son for me to ever want to see them together. Forgiveness? Yes. A careful but meaningful friendship? Yes. Romantic relationship? Uh...no thanks.
I liked the Abigail mentions at first because I felt like...the character still mattered (as she should) but I’m at a point where I feel like they’re trying really hard to steer the fandom’s view a certain way and not knowing where it’s going is extremely unsettling to me.
--
I’ll probably talk more about the things that bother me when the season ends, because I’m hoping to have a better idea of where things are going to be headed, but for now just...know that I feel very apprehensive.
And keep in mind that I primarily watch this show for Bill these days, since all my previous faves (AJ, Frank, the old Abigail, Dottie) have exited, stage left. I also always really liked seeing Henry. So as you can imagine, seeing plotlines I hate for the only two characters I’m invested in? Is making me consider dropping the series next year.
My husband told me I should hate-watch it, but I don’t know if my heart can take it. I’ve been following this series for so long...it just...kind of hurts to feel let down like this?
But sometimes an ongoing series ends up going where you...didn’t want it to, and it becomes something that’s no longer right for you. I hope that doesn’t happen, but last night’s episode makes me feel like...it might be happening for real this time.
I guess if that holds true it’ll be back to fanfiction for me. Will that novelization I planned ages ago end up getting written? Will I write the best love triangle fanfic known to man? WHO KNOWS.
For now, we’ll all have to wait and see! Two more episodes left. I’m really curious to see how they resolve some of the open plots right now. :>

Drowning is not something known to merfolk. Logan didn’t know that it existed before he came to dry land and it was one of the things Virgil made sure to explain to him on the first car ride away from the coast.
“Human lungs can’t hold water.” He said
“But why?” Logan asked, still wiping the tears from his eyes.
Virgil propped Logan’s new glasses on his head to keep the salty water from staining them.
“Because we just can’t. So don’t breathe any in.”
“Then why does Patton have a container of it in the front?” Logan asked.
“I’m drinking it, Logan. Not breathing it.” Patton said.
“Drinking?” Logan asked.
“It’s like eating but with liquid.” Roman said, carefully examining a pimple in the mirror. “Hey, do you think I could cover this up before tonight?”
“Why? I think it’s an improvement.” Virgil said.
“That was uncalled for.” Logan said.
“Don’t mind him. He’s an only child.” Virgil said.
“Oh, one of those. Well we’ll have fun with him then.” Roman said.
……….
Logan’s brain started working at a pace so fast that it seemed as if time slowed down to a snail's crawl. Seconds took years to pass as his brain remembered everything that it could
“The human instinct to hold breath underwater is so overwhelming that it is very difficult to overcome.” Logan’s brain said. “The average person can only hold their breath for 30 to 60 seconds. Experienced pearl divers can hold their breath for as long as ten minutes. Navy seals (no relation to the creature) can hold their breath for two minutes. However, the most you’ve ever been able to manage is 20 seconds.”
Logan looked around. It was dark. One second had passed. His eyes stung and his glasses began to separate from his face. The inertia of his initial jump was still pushing him downward.
“It is easier to float in saltwater which increases your odds slightly. However, you have never swam with legs before. Don’t move them. Push upward. You have approximately 80 seconds before your lungs involuntarily breathe in. At that point your chances of survival are slim. The land is an unforgiving bastard. He’s not letting you go yet. Find a way to breathe.”
……….
Before Roman got roped in with the lawyer he used to occasionally show Logan his day job. At this point he got enough acting jobs and shows that he could’ve lived modestly, but Roman was never one for modesty and freelance graphic design was a much more stable job than acting or being a drag queen. It wasn’t as stable as other jobs but where’s the adventure in a salary?
“We all lose it at some point, Logan.” Roman said the first time. “It’s good to have something to fall back on.”
Logan watched the movements on the computer screen.
“What is ‘it’ exactly?” He asked.
“You know. The… the thing. Whatever makes you tick. The special…”
He waved his hands around. “Ah, whatever.”
“Like my…” Logan couldn’t make himself say it. There were too many things he could say.
Roman focused on the graph overlaying the photoshop screen in front of him but kept talking.
“I know you think I’m an overly dramatic and very attractive idiot, and I am, but I do have a heart you know.”
“Well obviously you have a heart. How else would blood circulate through your body? I’m 100% certain that humans are mammals and…”
“No, no, Microsoft nerd.” Roman said. “It’s an expression. In old times before… I dunno, science, a lot of humans thought that emotions came from the heart. We don’t have voodoo or whatever it is you do”
“Practical magic.” Logan mumbled.
“Whatever. Anyways, uh, when I say I have a heart I’m assuming you think I don’t care about you or that you think I only think about myself but that’s not true. Metaphorically uh, speaking, um, if someone has a heart they have compassion.”
The logo for a burger cart seemed to have finalized while Roman was talking. Logan leaned against him to get a better look at it. Now would be a good time to shrug Logan off and give him a lesson in American ideas of personal space but Roman didn’t feel like it. So he listened to Logan talk about how it made no sense that a burger would have eyes and how much he hated that fusion restaurant Patton and Virgil took him to last week.
One thing he and Logan did have in common was that they never shut up.
……….
His hands weren’t moving. Why weren’t they moving?
“Fear paralysis.” His brain hissed.
……….
Logan always lost races. He was small. He was weak. He knew he was small and weak and he hated it. He spent most of his time looking at drawings or listening to storytellers.
“You should be one of them.” His father said.
“I could never be that exciting.” Logan said.
“You don’t have to be exciting.” His father said. “ do whales think about how exciting they are?”
Logan cocked his head to the side. “No!” He said with childish certainty.
“Be more like a whale.” His father said. “Or I’ll get ya like a whale!”
He grabbed the five year old mer-child by his tail and spun him around in the water like a gear. Logan let out a delighted high pitched whistle and pretended to try to swim away as his father grabbed him around the middle and tickled him.
……..
Logan had been underwater for ten seconds when he broke the surface. This was a lot harder than it looked. Before he went under again he heard some shouting that kind of sounded like Roman.
He had never noticed that water had a sound before. He had spent the first twenty three years of his life submerged in it and never realized that it made noise while it moved. Maybe because his ear canal had always been full of it. Now it sounded like rumbling.
Something grabbed around his waist and he flinched. He tried to get away. He lost precious air. What was happening?
Air.
……….
Logan held Virgil’s head gently and looked at the angry red marks on his face.
“You just had to get yourself in trouble again, didn’t you?” Virgil whispered.
“It’s not like me to make the same mistake twice.” Logan said.
“Well here I am. You’re shaking. How long was I out?”
“Two weeks.”
“Are we in your apartment? Where’s your mom?”
“The same place my dad is.”
“Wait, you don’t mean…”
“She went looking for him, yes. And… I suppose succeeded in a way.”
“Oh, Logan.”
“Logically, you are still alive. So thank the tides for that.”
Mer cities are just as advanced as human cities, but whereas human cities use electricity, mer cities use magic. To a human it would look like Virgil was just wrapped in seaweed. In reality, he was. But his best friend had also not stopped chanting magic spells over him day and night for almost a week. An act of great compassion that he would never, ever admit to doing.
……...
Somebody slapped him.
“You idiot!” Roman yelled.
Logan squinted through his blurry vision.
“You’re… soaking wet.” He said.
“No shit, Sherlock.”
Something dry in a polo shirt grabbed him and started crying and he registered what was going on.
“Oh, I see. I uh… messed up.” Logan said.
A strong hand helped him up.
“Yeah. That’s two mistakes now. You’re on a roll.” Virgil’s voice said.
“I… only almost killed you once,” Logan said. “Or twice. Okay. Twice.”
“H-hey look he’s catching on to the… he’s… almost funny.” Roman said
“Are you sobbing?” Logan asked.
“Yes, okay? I’m dramatic! Now let’s get out of here before someone calls the cops.”
They got out of there before someone called the cops.
………..
There is an end written to this story, but it’s not the end of this story. Because after this end, the boys will continue to live. These men will have stories. Roman will leave his boyfriend but foolishly keep a line open. Patton will go to college, finish it, be unsatisfied, go back, and then be satisfied this time. His relationship with his mother will never be fully repaired, if it was ever whole, but it will improve.
And Logan and Virgil, two men who have always known who they are and why but will never know where they will be tomorrow or what species they will be tomorrow, will keep telling stories. Eventually they will start a podcast, because Virgil is tall and Logan is short and they sound exactly the same way that they look. And two months worth of recordings can be binged.
Virgil still whistles and it’s just as charming and annoying as ever. He will never stop. And now that Logan can read, there’s really no end to the ways he can be a know-it-all.
But before all that happens, this story that you’re reading or listening to (depending on whether you’re on land or in the sea) ends. And it goes a little something like this:
……….
Two men stand together alone in a cave and one of them takes off his glasses. One is tall and one is short. One is named Virgil, the other Logan. They’re very young in the grand scheme of things but they are not children by anyone’s standards. They’ve seen and felt too much already but that’s okay. Everyone does. And the ocean is calling them back. Together this time.
Logan puts his glasses inside the cooler and weighed it down with a rock.
“Are you ready?” Virgil asked in his deep voice
“Well I wasn’t born ready. That’s impossible. One doesn’t emerge from an egg ready for anything. However, I was born to be ready for this. So yes. I am ready.”
“Robotic as always.” Virgil said.
They took hands and a running leap. And for the first time in weeks or over a year depending, they breathed in the warm saltwater of the mid Atlantic. And Logan, for the first time in Virgil’s memory, let out a human laugh.
“I’m breathing!” He clicked with ease. “I’m swimming!”
“And I’ll bet you remember the way home.” Said the merman with the black and silver tail and a scar on his stomach.
“I remember everything.” Logan said. “Everything.”
And this is the way he told it to me. And now, the way I tell it to you.

If there’s one thing Shouto Todoroki is passionate about, it is the light.
Denki Kaminari, Plus Ultra magazine’s long-suffering photography assistant, busies himself about the set, fiddling with diffusers and reflectors. With a light meter glued to the palm of his hand, he executes the concept detailed by their team’s advance planning, double and triple-checking each line item — a luxurious settee, soft light, upbeat mood music.
Everything is perfect. Too perfect.
Kaminari turns to find Midnight, the photo shoot’s hard-edged creative director, nursing her third cup of coffee. Despite the caffeine, she is unmoved by the synthesized pop music blasting through the speakers, and Denki is certain she is second-guessing every last detail.
“Just great,” she huffs. “Makeup is running long, and Todoroki is late.”
He shrugs the padded shoulders of his silver-studded leather jacket, gazing at the space opposite the light-drenched set. Beyond the racks of colorful clothing Hagakure mulls through, he can hear laughter. One voice is bright and clear as a bell, and the other is husky but heavenly.
The doors of the studio creep open to reveal a mop of white and scarlet hair shoved into a slouchy beanie. Balancing his camera bag on his shoulder, Shouto softly closes the studio door. His entrance is, as always, unassuming, but when a pair of mismatched eyes glance upward, worry lines betray his discontent. The subtle folds exaggerate Todoroki’s red scar, unusually flat but discolored by yellow and peach tones that create the illusion of texture.
“Where is she?” he asks, without pleasantries or preamble.
Kaminari doesn’t have to ask who Todoroki is referring to. The rumor mill is convinced that lighting isn’t the only thing the photographer is passionate about.
“Still in makeup,” Midnight responds. “Jirou is an artist. Apparently, we shouldn’t rush her.”
Shouto seems to breathe a sigh of relief and fixes his co-workers with a stern expression. He has plenty of those to spare, and they always equal more work.
“Good. I just read the transcript for the One-For-All feature, and I think we need to go in another direction with this shoot. There’s too much light in here. It doesn't suit the serious turn Hatsume’s piece took.”
“Thank the Gods! Someone said it,” Midnight exclaims, already changing the music. She is only too happy to beckon Hagakure over, hurriedly subbing jewel-toned businesswear for oversized sweaters.
As he calls off the extra soft light umbrellas, Kaminari marvels that in five years of working together, this is the first time there’s ever been ‘too much light.’
He could laugh. Or cry. Possibly both.
But for Momo Yaoyorozu, Shouto has been known to bend all the rules.
…
[Excerpt of Mei Hatsume’s interview with Momo Yaoyorozu]
MH: Mei Hatsume reporting for Plus Ultra Magazine. Your source for all things fashion, lifestyle and fitness! Today, I’m with model turned industry activist Momo Yaoyorozu to talk about the One-For-All foundation! Can you tell us a little bit about what One-For-All means to you?
MY: Yes, of course, Mei. I’m so happy to be here. I’ve been modeling since I was 16, but when I turned 20, two big things happened in my life.
MH: That was the year renowned fitness model All Might went public with his Crohn’s disease diagnosis. Wasn’t it?
MY: Yes, and it was All Might’s retirement speech that inspired me to take a hard look at the demands modeling was taking on my body. I really wanted to keep smiling like he said, but I found it hard to do that when my agency was pressuring me to maintain my thigh gap. Some people can achieve that look without resorting to extreme measures; however, I learned that I was not one of them. Still, I wanted to keep modeling if only to prove that health and beauty come in all shapes, colors, sizes and levels of ability.
MH: So, you broke away from your agency, went independent and started the One-For-All foundation with a small group of like-minded professionals?
MY: You make it sound so easy! But yes. With All Might’s support, a few independent models and I got together and did a promotional photo shoot for Instagram. Those models — Izuku Midoriya, Ochaco Uraraka, Tensei Iida and Shino Sosaki — were instrumental in One-For-All’s early success. And, of course, Shouto Todoroki. We wouldn’t have gotten far without him on that promotional shoot.
MH: So, you’ve been working with Todoroki for a long time?
MY: Yes, and it’s relationships like these that first secured One-For-All’s footholds in the modeling industry. Our outreach and mentorship programs encourage struggling models to come forward, and we encourage corporations to consider diversity in their casting. Industry allies, like Todoroki, are vital in our endeavors.
MH: So, it’s strictly platonic between you two then? Some say that you’re his muse.
MY: We have a healthy, professional relationship. But, getting back to One-For-All’s outreach programs…
…
By the time Midnight and Todoroki are done with the set, it exudes a different aura. Gone is the lux settee, replaced by a simple stool set against a black paper backdrop. Shouto decides to use hard light for the shoot — a gutsy decision that suits Yaoyorozu’s cause. The ghost of a smile flits across his lips when he sees her fresh from hair, makeup and wardrobe.
She does not look like a primped and polished piece of candy, nor a rich girl standing in the expensive shoes her parents purchased.
Momo Yaoyorozu has come into her own.
Sharp contours accentuate her perfect bone structure offset by an oversized sweater and a pair of leggings with ‘#DETERMINED’ written in white letters down the side of her left leg. But Shouto’s favorite part of the ensemble is Momo’s no-nonsense boots. The silver lace hooks subtly catch the light as she strides toward him. Thick, low-heeled soles sound against the ground, punctuating her footfalls.
He swallows thickly.
Hatsume had called Momo his muse; this is closer to the truth than Shouto is willing to admit, even to himself.
“Woah,” Momo says brightly. “This looks so serious. Are you sure I can pull this off?”
Words spring from Todoroki’s mouth before he can catch them.
“You deserve to be taken seriously. One-For-All, I mean. It deserves the spotlight, no frills or clutter.”
Momo takes her place on set and poses, shifting to meet Shouto’s demands as he issues them. She doesn’t mind the commanding note in his voice and never shies away when he doesn’t automatically praise her. After everything they have been through together, Shouto hopes she knows her worth.
“Stay with me, Momo,” Shouto says, and at the unexpected sound of her first name, she looks surprised. Her sweater slips from her shoulder as Momo’s dark eyes flash, siphoning a piece of Shouto’s soul on to the film.
The flutter of the lens is the loudest sound in the room, and over it, Shouto can hear his pulse racing. He doesn’t know how Momo does this to him, time and time again, but he knows that when he looks at her the rest of the world melts away.
In the future, Shouto decides to try harder to keep things, as Hatsume had said, ‘strictly platonic,’ but just this once (and always once more) he’ll let his admiration slip through the cracks of his professional veneer.
“You’re amazing, Momo.”
He tells himself that he only says it because it’s true.
…
The pictures are stunning. Even Shouto’s mother, a former model, calls to fawn over his work. But this success is quickly brushed aside. By the lunchtime rolls around, it’s just another Tuesday at Plus Ultra’s headquarters, and a heated photo shoot featuring the most explosive mixed martial artist in Japan has left Todoroki feeling drained.
He’s never heard the word ‘bastard’ so much in his life. Considering the man who raised him, Shouto thinks this is something noteworthy. As a small distraction, he opens a folder on his laptop and scrolls through the pictures. Each image brings a small smile to his face
Todoroki receives an email. Momo Yaoyorozu’s name catches his eye. For this reason alone, he closes the folder and scans the friendly message.
She thanks him (because, of course, she does) and credits the captivating black and white images to his insightful talent rather than her ethereal beauty. A small favor, she asks, in furtherance of One-For-All’s objectives. Momo wants to post the un-photoshopped images on her Instagram — just to prove to fans that she isn’t as perfect as Shouto knows she is.
He shouldn’t grant her this request so easily, but Todoroki is too smitten to deny her. Instead of asking permission, he resolves to smooth everything over with the legal department later (preferably at the same time they discuss Katsuki Bakugo’s temper). He drafts a polite response and clicks on recent places. Shouto highlights the last few folders and selects them thoughtlessly, trusting that the last work-related pictures he viewed were from Momo’s photo shoot.
Todoroki is rather taken with the one where he caught her off guard, the bare skin of her left shoulder exposed in the harsh light. And all because he used her first name.
Still consumed by the reverie, he presses send and shuts his laptop, preparing to leave the break room. Shouto is halfway down the hall when he realizes his mistake.
His email notification sounds, confirming she’s seen it.
“Shit!”
…
The Momo Yaoyorozu plastered across Plus Ultra’s cover isn’t the one who tumbles out of bed that morning. Her hair is hopelessly mussed, and traces of yesterday’s mascara darken the crescent-shaped area underneath her eyes. She keeps her phone on airplane mode while completing her daily weightlifting regime and runs an extra lap to calm her nerves. There’s a courtesy copy of the magazine sitting in the mailbox of her posh penthouse, but she descends the luxury highrise to buy one from the nearest street vendor for reasons she can’t explain.
Momo grabs the issue without looking at the cover and tells the vendor to keep the change. She scurries back to her penthouse and rides the elevator up as nervousness coils inside her belly. Seated on her gray sectional, surrounded by books and the aroma of tea, she finally switches her phone off airplane mode and removes the magazine from its paper sleeve.
Notifications come streaming in as she stares at her own likeness. The #DETERMINED down the side of her leggings echoes everything the straightforward headline implies: Yaomomo Rising.
Her first call is to her best friend, Kyoka Jirou, who tells her that the overall feedback is positive. She and One-For-All are trending across several social media platforms. Her second call would be to Shouto Todoroki, but Momo changes her mind and decides to email him instead.
Their relationship was once clearly defined. Now, after his help kick-starting One-For-All and countless shoots, the lines are blurred.
Todoroki’s reply is quick, helpful and courteous. The third attachment… Well, that’s unexpected.
Momo writes a response, biting her bottom lip as she types.
Cute. I didn’t know you were into cats.
…
When the front desk buzzes to let Momo know Shouto Todoroki is downstairs, she’s perplexed, to say the least. Nevertheless, she finds herself shoving stray books behind decorative pillows and throwing a blanket over her sectional to hide a stain. By the time he knocks on her door, there’s an elegant splay of couture fashion magazines on the coffee table and a small library’s worth of literature hidden in her couch cushions. A few dirty tea mugs sit idly in her kitchen sink.
“Todoroki!” she greets, uncomfortably aware that he hasn’t seen her without full hair, makeup and wardrobe assistance in quite some time. “Come in. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
He gets right to the point, barely waiting for Momo to close the door.
“I sent you the wrong folder,” he says. “That last one was private, and I apologize if it made you uncomfortable.”
“You didn’t make me uncomfortable.” Momo crosses her lavish entryway and takes a seat on her sectional, motioning for her guest to join her. “Though I will admit, you have a lot of cat photos — over 200. Did you take some of them yourself?”
The levity in Momo’s voice is genuine; she hopes he can tell her question is good-natured. Shouto follows her, and Momo won’t deny that the space between them, though reasonable, simmers with something that isn’t ‘strictly platonic.’
Does she dare act on these feelings or bury them like her books?
“Yeah. I started taking pictures of my pet cat, Coco when I was a kid. My father wanted me to be a model, but I was more interested in photography. Mom took me to all her shoots and told father I was watching her work. Actually, I was annoying the hell out of her photographer friends and practicing photography with Coco. The photos I took seemed to make her happy.”
Shouto smiles at the memory. Momo wants to comfort him, to match the vulnerability he’s shown. Instead, she patiently listens, absentmindedly inching closer.
Momo’s heart swells as he touches the edges of his scar.
“After my accident, mom went away for treatment, but I kept taking photos and sending them to her. We still keep it up. That’s not too weird, is it? It sounds strange, I know, but like, if you could just not tell anyone I have 263 cat photos, I’d really appreciate it.”
Momo nods her head and finds herself brave.
“No, I won’t tell, and uh… I collect nesting dolls,” she admits, apropos of nothing. “If it helps to know something about me.”
“Nesting dolls?” Shouto asks. He wears a mischievous smile, glancing around her penthouse. “Of all the things you could collect, why nesting dolls? Doesn’t feel like your aesthetic.”
And there it is again, that heavy feeling on her chest. A voice hisses in her ear saying that she’ll let everyone down.
“My aesthetic,” Momo wonders aloud. She falls back against the sectional.
“Sometimes, I’m afraid that I don’t have one. I’m just this blank canvas for other people to dress and paint. I wonder what shows up in the photographs. Is it me or some fiction? And if people could see the real me, the one at the very center of all those layers, would they still like me — RBF and all?”
“Bakugo has resting bitch face,” Shouto scoffs. “You do not.”
“Yes, I do! When I don’t force myself to smile, I look pissed off.”
To make her point, Momo forces her lips to settle in a thin line, but her eyebrows keep their approachable arch. She glances sideways at Todoroki just to make a point that’s lost to the friction of the moment.
“See?”
The model giggles infectiously. She can’t even convince herself.
But instead of laughing in turn, Shouto’s grin turns serious. Momo might be imagining things, but the look he gives her sends her pulse into overdrive. His mismatched eyes are mesmerizing, and Momo is bewitched by his tenderness.
“I see someone who could have fit in but chose to stand out. The rest of it — the clothes and makeup — is window dressing. But you, Momo, you’re magic hour. You make everything around you beautiful.”
The sun sits low on the horizon. Its effulgent rays stream through the tall windows and paint her bland walls in vibrant shades of ruby-red and orange. But Momo doesn’t care about the spectacular view. Her eyes are locked with Shouto’s in the hopes that he will close the gap once and for all, taking them from colleagues to friends to something else.
Something more.
Tentatively, he brushes a loose strand of raven hair behind her ear. It’s something he’s done a million times during shoots, but in the privacy of her home, it’s different, the space between them charged by an electric resonance. Momo leans into the contact and reaches out to caress his face.
And when he finally embraces her, they melt. Their first kiss starts slow and pleasant, a quiet comfort. But soon, Momo’s fingers find purchase in silky strands of white and scarlet as his hands slide possessively around her waist. Shouto’s lips press into the curve of her neck, and Momo is utterly taken, her senses stolen by the unexpected softness of Shouto Todoroki.
There’s a part of Momo that believes she should have seen this coming, from the moment she first set eyes on Shouto when they were both green in the industry’s callous grasp. But she discards the theory, allowing their bodies to speak in a language that needs no translation. Neither early nor late, Momo decides that she discovered their quirky bond, precisely when she was ready to see it.

There is no better way to get to know someone than through a good question tag. In this case we have decided to make an Indie game dev question tag with the responses of our four developers. We hope that it will reveal many unknowns, but if you are left with any questions, do not hesitate to use our ask.
What part of game development are you responsible for?
Athe: I write and write, I melt in my seat, I correct, I cry and then I program. It’s an endless cycle. Occasionally I laugh like crazy while I eat Pringles.
Sam: I draw and color without leaving the lines (almost always) the sprites, the illustrations and the ravings that usually occur to us past 3 in the morning.
Illy: English translations.
Sher: I draw BGs
What tools do you use (hardware / software)?
Athe: Recently my desktop PC has passed away, so I’ve had to rescue my old PC from the garage. I also have a laptop that saves my life more times than I would like to admit. As for the software, I need, above all, drive documents, video editing programs, image etc (I have an Adobe package) and of course Renpy and Atom.
Sam: My main friend and companion is my tablet, a wacom intuos S (pistachio color, so cute). As programs I mainly use the Paint Tool Sai, because there is nothing in this life like its stabilizer. And less frequently than I would like (for details, texture brushes, effects ...) I also use Clip Studio Paint, which I only know how to use at about 2% of its capacity ... If someday I have time I would love to stop and learn seriously what can be done with it.
Illy: During the school year I live in a residence, so I use an old laptop, and when I return home I use a desktop computer that never has memory space. I translate the chapters in the same Atom where the complete script is and I keep them in google drive files where I share them with our beta reader. I also use editing programs like photoshop when I have to translate comics or procreate for when my artistic skills are required.
Sher: ipad+procreate+some final tweak in photoshop, I don't need much more
What is your favorite part of the job?
Athe: Would it be wrong if I say that is when we released the episode? During the whole production time everything is very stressful, there are times when it’s really uphill, but when we release a new chapter it feels soooo good. It's like saying to yourself, yeah, dammit, I can do it. Look at everything you've climbed by yourself. You're doing it right.
Sam: In general, my favorite parts are when the first scenes start to be programmed, and I can see the sprites with the backgrounds, the texts, and how the illustrations look. Everything always looks so much better when viewed in-game… I also really like being able to check out the script as it is written. And from the artistic part that concerns me, when I see that my hands capture the idea that I had in my head ... Especially in character designs.
Illy: Having to find a way to translate very spanish expressions into English, research vocabulary that I have never had to use and commenting on some translations with our beta reader (which we adore) to make it understandable without losing the original meaning.
Sher: I like to do the lineart when the sketch is complete, if I no longer have to think about anything else and it's just going through it, I find it very fun and relaxing
What is the most difficult part for you?
Athe: Offf, yes, I admit it, sometimes writing is the WORST. Other times I love it, especially when I can expand on the descriptions or stop at a part that is intimate or that I find interesting (for example, Hasiel's conversation from 6.3, small spoiler: P). But, I HATE having to paste scenes, often the protagonist moves between scenes and you always have to add lines to those transitions that really do not interest anyone, but that otherwise the text would be confusing. Anyway... It is a very wide world, with a lot of history, I have to deal with what I need readers to know to understand the facts, although sometimes it gets a bit boring.
Sam: What part does not... Rather who e.e Zihel and Ariel are a thorn in my side. Especially Zihel. I know it has to do with the fact that it has never been my strength to draw boys, and much less if they are more masculine in appearance... That's why I also suffer a lot from drawing muscles. Another thing that brings me a headache is the perspective of the illustrations. Every time I try to get out of the typical shot or poses a little... It doesn't work out.
Illy: Doughy’s stuttering ¬.¬
Sher: chairs, sofas, tables... anything with four legs is my enemy
Anything to help or encourage you while you are working?
Athe: I need music, no, seriously, I NEED IT. I’m unable to focus without it. If, on top of that, I can get what I hear to act as a sounding board for what I write, the text is a thousand times better... But the muse is a pretty bad person.
Sam: Having a show/movie in the background that entertains me. The longer the better, so I don't have to stop to think what I want to put on next.
Illy: Eating sunflower seeds to trick my brain and not be tempted to do something else that distracts me.
Sher: I try to see other artists to motivate and inspire me before I start drawing, what I find most difficult is that initial push and that is where I need the motivation, then I usually have something in the background but it is not necessary
Something that’s a pet peeve or discouraging?
Athe: Some narrative climax moments. Generally, they are not important plot moments (that is almost entirely decided), they are often small decisions to go from scene A to scene B, but I can spend a LOT of time deciding which is the fastest and best way to tie those two ends. I'm the worst.
Sam: Many times when starting, I can't get the poses to fit the way I want, for example.
Illy: Finding many parts in a row that I find especially difficult to solve and that make me believe that I have forgotten how to English properly. And looking at how many lines I still have left.
Sher: When I don't know how to fill in some area, if I see something very empty but I don't know how to solve it, I can spend days looking at the screen without being able to advance, even if I have other areas that I could do in the meantime
What is required on your table or work surface?
Athe: Notebooks, sticky notes, pens… I’m a person who writes everything down, especially the tasks, but I also order the story by color schemes. The stack of sticky notes have 9 different colors, each one represents a character and I play a lot with them for a lot of nonsense. Besides, even though I have been writing on the computer for many more years than I wrote by hand, I still have a preference for the analogical.
Sam: Coffee, sweets, chocolate, cereals... And cats.
Illy: My phone, the sunflower seeds, a Capital America: Civil War 1L water cup, sticky notes that remind me of tasks.
Sher: I have nothing really lol all my things are for decoration
Your most productive hours?
Athe: Owl. Totally nocturnal. Although I have several crises a month to force myself to work at other times that always end... Wrong.
Sam: Also at night for the most part, although I can no longer stay awake as long as I endured before having a job (the good old days...) However, in the middle of the afternoon, when the zoo that I have at home is still taking a nap, I also manage to go a long way.
Illy: From when I finish eating until 7 or 8 in the afternoon, when I don't have to cook, clean, run errands...
Sher: I take over for Illy apparently, from 7 or 8 is when I start to get into the mood until bedtime
Do working hours make you forget to eat or make you eat twice as much?
Athe: It depends, in the past I ate a lot, now if I have stress I don't eat anything. If I'm in a normal productive phase and I'm not on my nerves, I'm probably eating by inertia.
Sam: They make me eat more, but especially junk food e.e And they make me forget healthy meals, especially dinner at night.
Illy: It depends on my mood, but I usually eat twice as much.
Sher: I'm generally a VERY distracted person so I don't usually get to focus on a task to get to either of those two modes but I guess when I am sooooooo much on the task, I forget. But that happens like a couple of times a year and "forgetting" is "I delay an hour."
What part of your set up would you improve / change (in aesthetics or functionality) if you had no money limit?
Athe: I'm trying to match some of my peripherals with the rest. They are all a damn different color, apparently I'm cursed... Now seriously, I wish I had a better graphic card that would allow me to make video captures, some speakers and a quality printer.
Sam: Actually, I don't think I need anything more complex than what I already have… But if I had to improve something, I'm curious about the most professional tablets, the big ones with the included screen and all that stuff.
Illy: A new laptop that lets me open 4 chrome tabs, Atom and photoshop at the same time without dying.
Sher: A pc screen that will not change the colors I use on the iPad would be nice, really
Which character are you most like? And why?
Athe: Phew I think the easy answer would be to say Akane ... But, Akane is a better person. : P
Sam: This is very difficult... They are all very different, but still I do not think I look much like any of them. If I have to say something, I could identify with Maske's tendency to avoid problems, and his more homey and calm side. And well… Since Akane has been an OC of mine for many years, surely I have something of her too.
Illy: I think I partly have Maske's instinct to stay out of trouble, and on the other hand Joe's shallowness, although tbh I wish I really did look like any of our awesome babies.
Sher: surprised because (unpopular opinion around here) is one of those who I "least care" about really but I would say that Pin because he is a little dumb, happy and probably has a Satanic room and proud of it
Favorite CG/art.
Athe: AT THE MOMENT. Maske chapter 1. It couldn't be more predictable. I know.
Sam: I quite agree with Maske in chapter 1. But I would also put Pin in chapter 5 and Akane in chapter 6.2 on the top.
Illy: Kyeran in Coco's tank ?? Is he even real? Being basic is my brand.
Sher: surprised again and disappointed but I would say that of angel Hasiel because I like pretty dresses, pretty hairs and pretty wings
Favorite BG/scene.
Athe: The Red Light District amazes me. I already liked the life of that place, its history, but the way of expressing it... Uggg Sher took it to another level. The dirt on the street, the night, the constricted buildings...
Sam: I think I’ll say Raziel’s square, I like it a lot from the first day.
Illy: I don't know if I can choose just one T__T but I would say that the Red Light District and Valefar's pub are at the top.
Sher: for not repeating the red light district that I also like very much, I really like the areas of Coco's laboratory, including the “main” area although the perspective is horrible and makes the characters look tiny, but I like how it looks :(
Your favorite chapter to date?
Athe: Ufff... The first and second one I assure you no, hahaha. I will say that the third one, but also for things that are not necessarily from the chapter, but of the production. It was a good moment. I felt that everything was flowing with ease. We all assumed a clear role, they were times that made us feel comfortable and capable of assuming what came next, I think it was a qualitative leap also, both in texts and in art.
Sam: Oh. Well let's see... Chapter 5 is amazing for me, for everything that happens but also because there are many personalized interactions and choices. I can't say I have a definitive favorite, but it could come close… Also from the last ones I really like the 6.2.
Illy: Chapter 5 has so many details, so many things happen, it's hard not to be my favorite. But the last ones with the specific routes are so great that if I stay with the 5 it’s with the pain of my heart to have to choose one.
Sher: I would say 5 also because in the end when a lot of things happen is when you remember the most

Illy: Las traducciones a inglés.
Sher: Hago fonditos
Sam: Qué parte no… No sale bien.
Athe: Los nudos narrativos.
Y mirar cuantas líneas me quedan todavía.
Athe: Libretas, post-its, bolígrafos…
Sam: Ay. Pues a ver…

Error managed to get into the Creator Realm, he brought the gang with him and they were looking for Maxie and her friends. Though that implied the creators wouldn’t find them first, which they did.
“Hello, hello, hello!” Maxie said, wrapping her arms around Error as he glitched and screamed.
“LET ME GO!” He screamed, and Maxie let him go with a pout.
“So, as Kiki said, we will be inhibiting your quest! Trials and tribulations to test how much you have actually grown to see if you actually deserve to know. Also we’re bored and want to mess with you.” Maxie said, and Error facepalmed.
“So, what do you want us to do?” Nightmare said, growling.
“Please Nightmare, nowadays your bark is worse than your bite. Anyway, we have a few obstacle courses, some logic puzzles, some PTSD triggers.” Maxie said, smiling evilly.
“What…?” Cross said, and Maxie raised an eyebrow.
“What?” Maxie said, and Cross facepalmed.
“Oh, no no no, I have only written a story about forest rangers. I would never torture Error. I am usually the one hissing in the comments to punish anyone who does hurt Error, I wish the hissing thing was a joke. Nightmare would kill me if I hurt Error, right? Getting killed by my second favorite Sans for hurting my first favorite Sans is not on my list pal.”
“Well, it seems we have a good noodle. Truly a rare find.” Error said, and Cross snickered.
“One, I’m flattered that you like me. Second, I’m glad you fear me.” Nightmare said, looking around for the voice.
“You won’t see them, from here on out, you’re in a little playground my friends and I made. Good luck.” Maxie said, snicking.
“Oh dear, guys, watch out the voices are planning to get the askers to mess with your search. They wanna draw this out so take any hints we give with a grain of salt. I'd start by looking at what Error is ẁ̵̡̼e̷̪̿à̸̩r̴̜͗i̸̛̦̗n̶͕̄ǵ̶̲, not many Sans with both a j̷͕͕̈́͂a̸̹̓ċ̵̲k̵̳͈̓̆ȇ̵̟̎ṭ̶̯̈́ ̵̨̺͋a̵̜͝n̵̠͋d̸͙͝ ̷͖̇͊s̵̢̟̑c̷̦̜̐͠a̸̦̘͗̎r̶̪̣͛f̵̰̄̾.”
“I think you guys are being censored. And I think we know who.” Error said, glaring at Maxie as she whistled.
“So any other possible relationships in the making? come on my gloomy boys feed me gossip!”
“None over on our end. Though Swap!fell has a crush on Blue, and Red is territorial. We’re waiting for the brawl.” Killer said, chuckling at the thought.
“sanses and the one or two AU papyruses when you try to stop the human at the judgment hall why not stop at the soul room to get near god power”
“Doesn’t matter. They would still beat us. We would have six, and the human has beat the photoshop abomination.” Sans said, and the others nodded. They had come over for a quick hang out.
“Ok my little Horror, aka my third fav, how good a cook are you? Like we talkin Gordon Ramsey of skeletons or what? Also are you aware you are a cute little bean?”
“I love Gordan Ramsey! He’s awesome! He has no qualms about yelling at people for their awful crimes against food. And I am aware, trust me, I know how to use it.” Horror said, winking.
“May I hug all the dark sanses or would that cross a line? You all deserve all the love the megaverse can give you. I know what it feels like to be trapped, alone, and hurt in so many ways, I know what it is like to feel out of option and angry. You don't deserve that, despite everything you are all wonderful.”
“I’d love a hug!” Cross said and felt the hug, though no presence was seen.
“Can I have a hug?” Horror asked and was given a hug.
“I’m good.” Killer said, and everyone else nodded.
“Oh guys there are so many people who have written lyrics for your song megalovania. They can be quite good. I have only ever played the pacifist route myself and can't bring myself to watch an actual playthrough cause I can't watch my beloved monster friends get killed, but it is a catchy song. Have you guys seen any of them yet? Also I think you will like this fan song a lot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtCBLvAw4ZY&t=71s”
“What the fuck?” Killer said, nearly everyone had the same reaction.
“I liked it.” Cross said, humming the tune.
“papyrus how does your special attack work like if the annoying dog didn't take it”
“It’s just a blaster. Though it would be much friendlier than Sans’.” Papyrus said with a shrug.
“Can I also hug Blueberry? He is my fourth favorite.”
“Absolutely! I love hugs!” Blue said and felt the hug as he smiled.
“You voices are weird.” Stretch said, lighting another cigarette.
“No more. That’s your third, I’ll burn the pack if you smoke another.” Blue said and Stretch groaned.
“flowey if you really think its fun watching human kill everyone why do you beg for mercy if you act like you dont care ps if u wanna murder human kill toriel first.”
“I don’t beg! I was just scared at first and knew I couldn’t break the script! And in case you didn’t hear, I have literally done everything.” Flowey said, rolling his eyes.
“to annoying dog sorry to papyrus in advance please follow papyrus all day while playing dogsong and steal all his bones ps im glad ink didn't murder you”
The annoying dog yipped, he was glad he wasn’t murdered too. He kicked his stumpy legs and wagged his tail as he flew off to Papyrus, who had a feeling of foreboding and anxiety.
“YOU STUPID CANINE!” Papyrus declared as he tried to run while missing his femur. The dog smiled as the song echoed through the Underground and the dog smiled an innocent smile.
“So here is a question to the Sans personality types, why do you lie to your brother about their food? You're not helping them, it would be far kinder to be honest and help them learn to be better. Someday they are likely to meet someone who will not let them down gently and will hurt them.”
“Implying we can. They either run out the door before we can talk or we have to try talking over them.” Sans said.
“Impossible in many AUs, plus, it’s actually good half the time.” Outer said, and Red nodded, glaring at Swapfell as he was ogling Blue from a distance.
“Dream, what is it like being with your brother again? How is your guys brotherly bond affected by well everything that happened?”
“It’s awesome. We have fun and prank some unsuspecting Sanses every now and then. As people seem to forget for the longest time, we were mistaken for fey. And we didn’t help those accusations.” Dream said, “Though we never hurt anyone. Just harmless things like a pie going missing or flowers vanishing into thin air.” Dream snickered, he was back in the Doodlesphere by this point and reviewing paperwork.
“Boys how do you feel about Uncle Dreamy?”
“Don’t.” Killer said.
“No.” Cross said, eyes blank as he shook his head, everyone else was silent as they shook their heads and cringed.
“frisk how is murdering everyone one fun after all i dont think you enjoy getting repeatedly killed plus since you reset so many times you know everything that happens underground besides there are more things to murder in surface ps you didnt answer if you got to the surface on genocide”
“I like to see the dust fall, them scream in pain, and beg for mercy. It’s cute. And yes, I can murder more things on the surface, but they don’t turn to dust or give the, for lack of a better term, high I need. And I don’t get to the surface, only if I spare everyone do I get there. And before you ask, in neutral runs I’m in a limbo state, have to RESET to leave.” Frisk said, smiling as their eyes glowed red.
“frisk what about napstablook or mad dummy you can't kill either”
“I can kill Glad Dummy, and Napstablook is worthless. I don’t wanna waste my time on them.” Frisk spat, growling as they left the ruins, stepping over Toirel’s dust.
“You know what is cute? all the baby bones art of you guys. Awww why is every baby sans just so huggable? Ok ok but really baby Error! just picture a tiny baby Error and tell me that shit is not cute.”
“They’re very cute.” Nightmare said.
“But they didn’t show us any.” Killer said and Nightmare froze.
“Oh.” Error said, and Nightmare turned into a puddle out of shame.
“And payback time, Nightmare, any stories about Dream?”
Springing back to life Nightmare donned a wicked and demonic grin. “Dream didn’t know what a bed was until he was 100. And it took three people to pry him off of it.” Nightmare said.
“That’s actually sad. How long did you sleep in a tree?” Cross asked and Nightmare whistled.
“Our whole lives before the apple incident. Up until then we only slept in a bed seven times each.” Nightmare said, and Cross gave him a teary hug.
“dust how come your a bad guy you were forced to kill everyone your not a bad person if someones a bad person its the human and chara”
“First of all, Chara is only a problem because of Frisk, so they aren’t as guilty as you think. Though they are not innocent. And no one wanted to befriend a killer, sure they like Red, but it’s the culture. And Ink played his cards right so I couldn’t make things worse for him, there’s a reason he didn’t stop Nightmare from helping me.” Dust said, “Same goes for everyone else.” He finished and everyone nodded.
“Hold on a sec, contacts? How do contacts work with eyelights? I don't understand...”
“Magic.” Error said, and Maxie snickered.
“So, let’s begin the challenges!” She said and they were separated and thrown into a version of Snowdin.
“Where are we?!” they cried out, looking around but Maxie laughed.
“Welcome to your first challenge! Can you handle the Star Sanses all by yourself? Only one of you has to win for all of you to proceed, and the battles will be scaled so you are evenly matched.” Maxie’s voice echoed through the area, but she was not seen.
“Maxie. What are you doing?” Jana asked, accompanied by Beatrice.
“Having a bit of fun. What are you doing?” Maxie said, smiling innocently.
“Are you seriously messing with them?” Jana said, shaking her head in disapproval.
“You didn’t raise any concern when Jack, Zack, and I were talking about our plan. So why are you looking at me like that?” Maxie said, and the two sighed.
“Because we want to help. But only to an extent.” Jana said, and Maxie was intrigued.
“To what extent I may ask?” Maxie wondered, smiling.
“If you trigger their PTSD or do anything relating to Ink, we’re out and we will tell them who Error was.” Beatrice said, and Maxie shrugged.
“Sure. It’s a deal.” She said, holding out her hand as Beatrice shook it.
“We’re still going to Jack’s for pizza right?” Maxie asked, changing the subject.
“Hell ya. I’m bringing garlic knots.” Beatrice said and Maxie's eyes lit up.
“Garlic knots!” She held her hands up in joy.
“Blue most of us saw that Christmas party webcomic already. We know you spiked the eggnog. Why do you always pretend to be so innocent? not that I have much room to talk on that front...”
“I have long admitted to spiking the eggnog at that party. And I haven’t spiked anything since. No one seems to believe me!” Blue said, grumbling as his eyes turned to small broken hearts as tears filled his eyes.
“Sure.” Stretch said, and Blue glared, some glitches popping up.
“to sci and alphys is it possible to turn flowey back into asriel.”
“Without 7 human souls, I don’t think we can. We’ve looked into it, just to see if it was possible. He may be ok with staying as Flowey, with the exception of the pacifist run, but others in his situation aren’t. So we looked at his code to see if it was hypothetically possible, and it isn’t.” Sci said, sipping coffee.
“Yeah, h-honestly, I was h-hoping that we could. I-I regret i-it so much. I-I wanted to see i-if I could help others. B-but this is i-irreversible.” Alphys said, ringing her hands.
“It broke Toriel and Asgore’s hearts. Though, they would respect Flowey’s wishes if he didn’t want to, he is still a person whose opinions should be listened to. Even if he is a jackass.” Sci said and Alphys nodded.
“sanses how do you guys stop genocide routes from starting since you said there were very few”
“We don’t. They just stop, and then they start up again. Like wet and dry seasons, only more sporadic.” Classic said.
“Some worlds, like mine, don’t have as many, the way the world works kinda discourages it.” Red said, and Swapfell nodded.
“frisk what was the strangest interaction you have had with someone in the underground”
“Gaster. He is so mysterious and strange. I wonder what his deal was, but I never can find out. I’ve met his followers and such, but I’ve never heard him speak, and I’m assuming the person I saw was Gaster!” Frisk said, they were somewhere in Snowdin forest, marking down words on their arm.
☝☜❄ 💧✌☠💧 ❄⚐ ❄✌☹😐 ✌👌⚐🕆❄ 💣🕆☹❄✋✞☜☼💧☜.
❄☟☼☜✌❄☜☠ 🏱✌🏱✡☼🕆💧.
“so what has been the most dangerous mission the dark sanses have been sent on”
“There was HorrorLustFell.” Nightmare said, “Unaware of what was going to happen, I had Cross deal with it.”
He was waiting for Maxie to start up her game, and he hoped his boys were doing well.
“HorrorLustFell.” Cross said, “I took a month-and-a-half break after that to recover.” Cross said, raiding Grillby’s and the shops for armor, supplies, and food.
Everyone gave similar responses.
“Who all is helping with the search? everyone or just the gang?”
“Just us. Everyone knows what we’re doing and they’re willing to help if we need it.” Error said, shrugging as he made himself a swing and began to swing.
“Okay here is one for the classic undertale gang, since they know about the resets and multiverse now. thoughts on this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8hGMFQPBDw”
“Sans, do you want to talk?” Papyrus asked, and Sans was gone.
“I knew he had problems, but if someone can deduce that? Wow.” Toriel said, holding her hand over her mouth.
“We have several therapists available.” Outer said, “The hard part is getting him to see one. And I know I’m a hypocrite.” Outer said, shrugging.
“You are correct, space Sans.” Papyrus said, “I just wish he could talk about it.” Papyrus said.
“I mostly wanna see what paps has to say about his brother hiding his mental health problems.”
“I knew he had issues, but I want him to talk to me, I know it’s hard to talk about your mental health problems, but it’s been five years. Though he has suffered far worse than any of us, if the Dark Sanses are anything.” Papyrus said.
“I’m going to stall Frisk, Toriel, you need to get out of here. Frisk will be getting here soon.” Papyrus said and everyone dashed out of the house.
“Have the sans ever had to have an intervention for any of the other sans, like Blueberries alcohol problem?”
“I have no problem first of all. And secondly, we have had to have interventions.” Blue said, “Black had a drug addiction a while back, and we are trying to get Papy to stop or reduce his smoking habits.” Blue said and Stretch sighed.
“At least I’m working on it.” Stretch said, and Blue nodded.
“oh i'm just teasing him, cause I love him.”
“Thank you!” Blue said, smiling.
“frisk has there ever been a timeline in which the annoying dog didn't take the legendary artifact and if it wasn't taken what does the artifact do”
“I have never gotten the artifact.” Frisk said, Papyrus and Sans coming into view.
“to error how much exp did ink get you?”
“Quite a bit. The number escapes me, but it was in the hundreds.” Error said, swinging.
“flowey at the end of the pacifist timeline you decide to give up the souls and break barrier once the barrier was broken you could have easily murdered more humans and get to be a goat again so why kill a few for their souls?”
“Timelines never last that long, and when I turn back, it leaves an impact on me that makes it hard to be a jerk for a while. Residual effects of being that whiny crybaby.” Flowey said, “And it wouldn’t change anything.” Flowey said, wilting a bit.
“Fresh, tell me about your furby collection? I miss mine. I had 3, they always said they were hungry last at night when I was falling asleep... it was kinda creepy.”
“I have a version of every Furby ever made. 3 is pathetic yo. Though they are demanding and creepy sometimes, I’ll give ya that brah.” Fresh said, looking around as snow fell around him.
“What are you guys doing to find Error's origin anyway?”
“We were going to ask the creators what they knew, since none of Killer, Dust, or Horror’s code could help us and Error’s code is a mess on account of him being a glitch, then we’d go from there, asking questions and making guesses based on what we knew.” Nightmare said, “For all we know Error could be from one of the many neutral timelines, and that wouldn’t pin anything down at all.” Nightmare said.
“Blue, how do you hide your glitches? That seems like a very hard thing to explain to people you don't want knowing about the multiverse.”
“Dream made a small illusion charm with Sci and Alt’s help that makes me look normal. It’s also pretty!” Blue said as he held up a golden charm in the shape of a blueberry, it was attached to a gold chain that was hidden by his battle body.
“Have the rest of the Sans seen Error in his glasses? I need to see them all squirm at how cute he is!”
“Only Blue and Classic have seen him in his glasses. Other than us of course.” Killer said, “I helped make the frames, and the way his eyes lit up when he could clearly see for the first time, it was the best feeling in the world. I remember taking care of Pap, it felt like that.” Killer said, and he smiled at the memory.
“How does Dream feel about being an uncle now? Is he a FUN Uncle?”
“I’m not really considered an uncle per say, but I do try to be fun. And it is fun to say that I am technically the Dark Sanses’ uncle, they have the funniest reactions.” Dream said, laughing.
“Error am I embarrassing you too much?”
“Yes.” Error said, still swinging.
(Tumblr, I need asks from you guys too.)

PassionFuze DPAPA
PassionFuze Review: Should You Buy PassionFuze?
Hola! Thanks for checking out my unbiased PassionFuze review. My name is Joe Sturtevant, and I'm grateful to be able to aid you in making the best decision for yourself and your online business. Today, my job is to rip apart this new software by Demetris Papadopoulos in an effort to give you the full story. I actually grabbed my own copy of my very own, ran over it with a fine-toothed comb, and I've generated a relatively well-formed opinion about it for this reason. It's difficult to find a perfect software, and this is no exception. I've found that PassionFuze has its negatives, as well as its positives. Just note, if you should happen to go ahead and order your own copy of PassionFuze by visiting here right away, I've got a few special bonuses for you, which I created to help you do your best with PassionFuze. Does that sound fair to you? Awesome! Let's proceed...
PassionFuze: What's the Scoop?
This is actually a training program that is gonna operate for you to be able to create Photoshop quality graphics inside your website! Daniel actually designed this software with the goal of helping you work more efficiently and not have to import graphics from other programs or outsourcers. Could be some pretty powerful functionality for you to consider. If you're not quite grasping what I'm saying (explaining software with written text can be difficult), then you're free to visit the official product page and watch the demo video. It should help a lot. :) But very quickly before you go, let me just let you know how I feel about the software. At the end of the day, you want a no-nonsense review of PassionFuze, and that's what you're getting. Here we go...
PassionFuze: How Good Is It?
As I mentioned earlier, I've only just test-driven this software. So the reality is, I haven't taken it to the top. As to the user-friendliness of the software, Let's go ahead and give it a strong rating of 9 OUT OF 10. Within an hour, I had a pretty firm grasp of how to use it. It should be pretty easy for you.
Are Any Tutorials Included?
There sure are. They're pretty good, too. Combined with my custom bonuses, these should really help you to get started using the PassionFuze training program with a bang! In just a moment, my bonuses will be revealed. Before we do that, though, let's talk about the price of PassionFuze, all the bonuses on offer, and any upgrades that happen to be ready for purchase right now. After that, we'll be getting to good and the not-so-good... and lastly, you'll be presented with my incredible bonus offer.
Okay, so let's move this along...
So How Much Does PassionFuze Cost?
As this review is being written, PassionFuze is available for a very reasonable $13. That said, I'm sure that Daniel plans on raising the price soon. If the price is still cheap, therefore, then now may be the time to act on this one. I can't say that picking it up at a higher price in the future would be a bad move. It may, in fact, be very smart. But clearly, if it's still available for the low amount above, I would buy this software when you can!
PassionFuze Bonuses – Are There Any On Offer?
On the sales page, Daniel does list a few bonuses. But like I've said, I can only speak about the situation at the time of this review being written. As such, I'm not gonna go into tons of detail, seeing that all you need to do is head over to the official PassionFuze offer page for a current representation. MY bonuses, after all, are what you're REALLY wanting to know about! ;) We're just about to get into that, actually. Before we do, however...
PassionFuze Upgrades – Are There Any?
Yes, there are 4 OTO's. These consist of These are "value-added" upsells, as you should be able to experience even greater success with the front-end product by using them.
PassonFuze OTO 1 "Synergy" - $97 Advanced Training Courses in Affiliate Marketing & Blogging with Done For You Campaigns and Coaching Through FB Inner Circle Group. PassionFuze OTO 2 "JVFuze" - $197Launch Guidance through FB Private Group. Guide and Help Overlooking Whole Project and advanced training courses. (synergy included)
But make no mistake, PassionFuze should still work just fine without them. In truth, the product we're reviewing today SHOULD be able to get you results all on its own. So... Is it REALLY going to?
PassionFuze... Will It Actually Work?
Time for brass tacks. Will PassionFuze make you more money in far less time? Unfortunately, the "annoying" truth is... it depends on you. At first glance, the software itself seems pretty legitimate.
Now, these bad points aren't really deal breakers, in my opinion. But just to cover bases, I'd like to treat you to a few of my exclusive bonuses for picking up PassionFuze through my link today. My bonuses include...
Checkout: https://myimjourney.net For Our Bonus Packages!
BONUS PACKAGE #1:

The truth is, I want PassionFuze to work for you! That's the purpose that this bonus offer is intended to serve. I do what I can to avoid offering "$25,000 value bonus package" nonsense, as this would only insult your intelligence and not really help you. These types of bonuses often contains a bunch of rehashed, outdated master resell rights BS. They're not created in an effort to bring you greater success. My bonuses, conversely, are. ;) This particular software, in my opinion, seems to be well-worth the money. As such, you are encouraged to buy it via my link today. Just so we're clear, this deal ends soon, so you must hurry. I'm hopeful that this objective PassionFuze review was exactly what you were looking for. I only want to be a friend who's helping you to make a business decision that you are beyond thrilled with.
A lot of individuals purchase software and training programs, but never actually use the stuff. Very few people take a piece of software and use the software to a profitable conclusion. I really hope that you'll be an exception to the rule. Grab PassionFuze from the official site today and utilize the bonuses I've prepared for you. This is one decision you will not regret. :) Best of luck! Joe Sturtevant

PassionFuze Review
PassionFuze Review: Does It Actually Work?
Hello! Thank you for checking out my 100% unbiased review of PassionFuze. This is Joe Sturtevant from My Internet Marketing Journey. Today, my job is to dissect Demetris Papadopoulos's new software program for your benefit. I actually just grabbed my own personal copy, had a good, focused look, and as a result, I've come to have what I truly believe to be a quite a well-formed opinion here. As we all know, virtually no money-making software is free of flaws. PassionFuze has both its good points and its bad points. Just know, if you happen to grab PassionFuze by clicking here before the offer expires, you'll get my great bonus offer, which was designed to combat the cons. Is that something you can live with? Fantastic! Okay, so back to the review...
PassionFuze Review: What's It All About?
This is actually a training program that will operate for you to be able to create Photoshop quality graphics inside your website! The software was specifically programmed to enable you to work more efficiently and not have to import graphics from other programs or outsourcers. Does this sound like something that can benefit your business? If I'm talking over your head (explaining software with written text can be difficult), go ahead and click here to get a visual representation by watching the demo video. You'll be given a much clearer picture of what PassionFuze actually does. :) But before you go, let me go ahead and let you know how I feel about the software. Obviously, I promised you a truthful PassionFuze review, and that's what you're getting. Let's make it happen...
PassionFuze: How Well Does It Work?
As we've already established, my acquisition of this. Therefore, I haven't gotten all the mileage out of it that I could. So how user-friendly is this software? Well, to be honest, PassionFuze gets a respectable rating of 9 OUT OF 10. Within an hour, I had a pretty firm grasp of how to use it. It's really quite simple.
What About Training? Are There Any Tutorials?
Yes, you'll find plenty. They're quite helpful, too. I have no doubt that they, along with my custom bonuses, will help you to get very nice results using the PassionFuze training program. My bonuses will be discussed momentarily. Before we do that, though, let's talk about the price of PassionFuze, any of the free bonus products available to you, and any & all upgrades that may be available to you. Beyond that, we will be moving into good and the not-so-good... and then finally, you can see what kind of bonus package I've put together for you.
Moving along...
PassionFuze Price:
As this review is being written, you can pick up PassionFuze for $13. It's very likely that the price will go up though. If it's still this cheap when you're reading this, then time may really be of the essence for you, and you should grab it now. If you grab it at a higher price, it may still very well be a good decision. But clearly, if you can still get it at the launch price I just mentioned, I would get this without hesitation!
PassionFuze Bonuses – Are There Any On Offer?
As I'm writing this, there are a few cool-looking bonuses available. However, that's during the initial launch. For this reason, I'll avoid going into tons of detail, seeing how all you need to do is head over to the official sales page to see what bonuses are available right now. What you're REALLY wanting to know about, after all, is MY bonus offer! ;) We'll get to that momentarily. But first...
What About Upsells?
Yes, there are 2 upgrades available with this particular offer. Included among these are These upsells are "value-added" in nature, in that the effectiveness of the front end product is enhanced by them.
PassonFuze OTO 1 "Synergy" - $97 Advanced Training Courses in Affiliate Marketing & Blogging with Done For You Campaigns and Coaching Through FB Inner Circle Group. PassionFuze OTO 2 "JVFuze" - $197Launch Guidance through FB Private Group. Guide and Help Overlooking Whole Project and advanced training courses. (synergy included)
I doubt that you'll NEED them in order for PassionFuze to work for you, however. Really, the product we're reviewing today is SUPPOSED to get you some good results as its very own entity. So... DOES it really?
PassionFuze Review... Does PassionFuze Live Up to the Hype?
Let's not beat around the bush. Is PassionFuze gonna put more cash in your pocket... and do so in far less time? Unfortunately, the "annoying" truth is... it's probably up to you. The software itself does seem pretty legitimate to me, at first glance.
Your success won't likely be hindered at all by these "bad" points. Even still, I'm giving you a few of my best bonuses for taking action today. You'll soon have access to...
Checkout: https://myimjourney.net For Our Bonus Packages!
BONUS PACKAGE #1:
10 PROVEN PROGRAMS TO EARN MORE PROFITS
OR
BONUS PACKAGE #2:
10 PROVEN PROGRAMS TO EARN MORE PROFITS
Do understand, I very much want for you to make your dreams come true using PassionFuze! This is what my bonus offer is intended for. I would never try to insult your intelligence by offering you some bogus "$25,000 value" bonus package on a piece of software that sells for only $13. These types of unrealistically priced bonuses are most times made up of outdated private label rights rubbish. These are generally not created in an effort to bring you greater success. My bonuses, on the other hand, are. ;) In all, I'd say that PassionFuze is worth the small investment, and then some. If you agree, then you can pick it up through my link now. Quan Zhi Gao Shou / The King’s Avatar Manhua (Chapters 0-5)
What I really enjoyed right from the start of the animation was the realistic nature of the game and characters. I only play games sporadically myself, and usually handhelds at that, but even I could relate to Ye Xiu’s journey to the top of the new server. I mean, usually you just take for granted that the main character is aiming for the top of something, but it’s difficult to relate to saving the world or leading a gang of misfits across the land fighting monsters. Climbing to the top in a game, however? We’ve probably all tried it in some way or another, even if we failed along the way (I still haven’t completed the National Pokedex in any Pokemon game, ok).
This also could have been stated at the beginning of a review for the whole series, but this is a long one, the novel translations aren’t even complete yet. So it’s here now as a preface.
And now it’s time for my far less composed liveblogging! This is not going to be as detailed as my Shoukoku no Altair one by a long shot, I think I’d collapse of exhaustion before I finished.
Chapter 0: Cause
It is both unnerving and relaxing to not obsess about language nuance like I do when I read Japanese stuff. On the other hand, it feels weird being back to the state of not understanding more than a few words here and there...
Colored panels are the best. The color (cold tones) to black & white to color (warm tones) back to black & white is a neat contrast.
I’m honestly really excited to get all these names and teams straight. I watched several groups’ subs for the early episodes and all the names were translated differently, leading me to have no clue who anyone was or which team they belonged to except the currently teamless Ye Xiu lol.
Chapter 1: As we drink, the lute signals to go to war
Look at that smug smirk. Ye Xiu’s relationship with Su Mucheng is just really nice with how supportive they are of each other.
Damn it, I said I wasn’t going to go panel-by-panel! But I like the contrast between these two shots. One is as he is turning away, after having reassured Su Mucheng that he will be returning and it really is fine that his old team literally kicked him to the curb. The other is once he is turned away. He seems fine in the first shot, sort of indifferent, while the dark shadow over his eyes in the next panel suggests differently. But he’s not one to complain.
Unexpected comedy shot lol. I appreciate the life in the internet cafe, everyone excited about Glory and the new server haha. In the animation, it was very quiet when he walked in, and they had to 3D animate it.
“As a female Launcher player, Mucheng never stopped smiling even when she blew up her opponent to pieces... It’s actually quite scary when you think about it.”
haha. He’s more expressive in the manhua. It lets you have these cute little musings in between scenes that the animations never have time for.
lol he just goes and hijacks her account. who does that. “the battle started already so I finished it for you. but don’t worry, I won!” that. isn’t the point.
Hi scary demon Ye Xiu! Side note: they’re doing a good job giving the background characters different features.
Also, thanks to not looking at the characters for their names, I keep getting Ye Xiu and Ye Qiu mixed up. I...really need to go find out how it’s written.
Not going to feature all of Chen Guo’s fun expressions, but so far there have been a lot of them and they’re great. (edit for Chen Guo’s name which I derped on and forgot at the time of writing this post. lol the manga doesn’t mention her whole name - Chen Guo - until a few chapters later. I think the other patrons call her ‘Sister Chen’ and the reader finds out her given name when Ye Xiu does. but in the novel, I think the narrative switches over to her at some point, so you find out her full name before Ye Xiu does...)
I love sayings, and how they are so weird when translated literally - Japanese ones are like this, too, because a lot of them are Chinese in origin. My favorite is probably 亀毛兎角.
I hope this is a translation thing because damn, what a way to sugar-coat the truth.
Chapter 2: Since ancient times, how many have returned from war?
I wish I knew the references to classical Chinese poetry/literature, it makes the series 10x more fun when you know the origin of some of their usernames and such.
Ok, overdoing it much, Sun Xiang’s posse? You don’t need to be extra nasty about it to his face.
I always really liked this expression of his reluctance, this human emotion from a guy who looks rather calm and composed (or sheepish, occasionally) most of the time. He takes things in stride, but here you definitely get the bitterness of his situation.
And now he has to laugh it off with a smile! He does a good job of keeping it together throughout this whole deal though.
lol what kind of expression is that. “I like working nights!” why the cat face/ears. why. that was such a quick interview lol.
“Actually, we aren’t lacking people, the advert you saw was from a long time ago.”
That’s...actually, interesting. So Chen Guo is hiring him anyways? Or am I missing something in the translation?
You are a surprisingly funny man, Ye Xiu.
This is me. (it says ‘Verify faster!’)
lol Ye Xiu looking at the beginner’s guide. I never read the instructions though, even for a complicated games I’m new to, I just sort of jump in and hope I don’t die in the first few stages. Pretty sure the only game I had to actually read the instructions for was Final Fantasy Type-0? It’s difficult getting into a good rhythm without reading the in-game tips for that game...plus, some of the more advanced techniques are hard to pull off.
Chapter 3: Don’t laugh at those who lie drunk on the battlefield
If I had time, I’d totally make edits, buuut I do not and photoshop is on my other computer. but when did he get those noodles...?
lol and he just outs himself right on the spot.
That is one dark expression, I love it. The retirement thing is definitely a sore spot for him.
“you’re a professional. but also an amateur.” lol must be so weird to be Ye Xiu
“Don’t fake it, actually you’re not even retired. You didn’t get a spot and got kicked out, right?”
Ouch. Hit it where it hurts, why don’t you. Though she isn’t aware of who he actually is yet. He did indeed get kicked out, and it’s probably worse because he did have a spot previously, he was at the top even.
Starting avatar! I love the character designs in this series, across the animation and manhua.
“Suddenly I miss those games that let people pass through each other!”
HOW COULD THEY WITH SO MANY PEOPLE PLAYING. It reminds me of the Sims flailing their arms because you stuck a cabinet in the wrong spot and they can’t get through.
“Such a civilized way to kill monsters, I’m not used to it.”
“This only happens when a new server opens, you’ll definitely wish you can queue again in the future.”
I really like the side comments. I don’t play multiplayer games, but the comments definitely breathe some life into it.
LOL. “How to endure the shame? I was once known as Glory’s textbook level expert and now I have to use a beginner’s guide to do beginner’s quests.” You can feel his soul dying little by little in these panels...
I love how many titles he earned...”Does no commercials”.
And, of course, him trying to reveal who he actually is, only for her not to believe him.
lol this comment: “It’s so hard to play in first person view!” That’s actually how I feel, I dunno, I mostly play handhelds and older games. I flipped out when I tried to play Final Fantasy: Dirge of Cerberus in first person, before I figured out there was actually a third person view...I’m just really lame when it comes to games, ok.
Ooh, it’s here! The umbrella! What an odd choice of weapon, usually they’re the joke weapons. Well, it’s better than the bus stop sign from Persona 3.
I’ve read spoilers about who this guy standing behind him is, and I am not ready to actually come across that part in the novel.
Side note: I like the avatar’s design better here than in the animation. Wonder if he changes outfit later on...
Chapter 4: Green Forest’s Sleeping Moon
“Let me help you, I’ll give you the drops as well.” “I’m [a] male.” Lol. I really do love these little dialogues.
I also love the usernames, I really am hopeless with it comes to naming things myself.
Hello, Sleeping Moon! I remember you! Sort of.
I love how Ye Xiu totally has a plan going into this, and his thought process is written out. It’s a mundane detail, but I like it. (I’m the type of person who doesn’t read the instructions provided by the game, but will go look everything up online because regardless if I played the game before or not, I like having a Plan when I go into it...I’m impatient, Shadow of the Colossus is the only game I actually take time to explore.)
The two modes of communication for Glory also make it interesting...Both text and audio. It’s fun having both.
haha these drawings have so much life in them
Including these.
Way to look awesome and dramatic with your umbrella in hand.
lol “You planning to advance into a Cleric? Why don’t you just be our caretaker for good?” dying inside, I tell you, dying inside
Knowing the spoilers like I do, THIS ISN’T OKAY. no sad flashback scene so early on. c’mon.
I like how Sleeping Moon keeps talking to him like he’s a newbie, too. It’s pretty funny.
Chapter 5: You reap what you sow
Finally, a chapter title I’m familiar with!
The naaames: Sleeping Moon, Just a Passerby, Not Just Cannon Fodder, Lord Grim, and Fallen Sun
I like ‘Just a Passerby’.
Hey, you even get to say some last words after your HP hits 0 haha.
“Don’t you know that if you die in a dungeon in Glory, you can’t come back?!” lol I’m side-eyeing all the other ‘if you die in the game you die in real life’ stories...
They gave Sleeping Moon some really awesome expressions, gotta say.
“But your acting isn’t at all convincing.” Actually, this is vaguely terrifying.
Also, I appreciate how Ye Xiu is calling him out on this whole plan and how he meant to cheat everyone while Ye Xiu is basically doing the same. haha
I’m not going to screencap it all, but the sequence of the boss slowly killing Sleeping Moon like the cat it is, and Ye Xiu’s reactions, are gold.
The umbrella is also really cool of course.
And here starts the drama on the 10th server! It’s honestly great, and quite true to real life haha. Well, real life can probably be weirder than even fiction...
AAAND that’s finally it! 5 chapters + the 0 chapter done! Oh geez that took forever...Anyway, I love all the little details the manhua can fit in that the animation can’t and I look forward to reading the novel version of these chapters sometime soon.

Give Me a Reason (4/9)
<Part 1> <Part 2> <Part 3>
November, 2013
The boy on the ice was new to the Grand Prix series, and it was clear that he wouldn’t be advancing to the final. His triples were shaky and he wasn’t even attempting a quad. Not that quads were required, Victor reminded himself. Just last year he’d taken them out of his programs at Euros on a dare and had still won by a comfortable margin, purely on the strength of a clean skate and high PCS marks. Yakov had been apoplectic, of course, and had forbidden him from pulling such a stunt at Worlds, but it had honestly been the most fun Victor had had at a competition in years.
The boy – Chulanont, from Thailand – was fun to watch, though. He danced his program with a cheerfulness that was infectious, and he had the audience clapping along to the music within moments. A popped triple axel and a two-footed landing on a triple-double combination didn’t seem to bother him in the slightest, though Victor knew he had to be disappointed. But Chulanont’s spins were solid, and his steps…
Who does that step sequence remind me of, he wondered. A flash of blue and silver teased at Victor’s memory, crowned in a mop of dark hair. Oh yes, that Japanese skater. Yuuki something? Yoshi? I wonder if Chulanont is his fan. It bothered him, a little, not to be able to remember the man’s name. Victor had it written down somewhere in one of his notebooks – he still researched all of the skaters that he shared ice with, Yakov having drilled respect for his competitors into him at an early age – but he didn’t used to need the physical notes the way he did now. When had the names and faces all started to blur? I really must be getting old, Victor thought dismally.
Chulanont ended on a slide, his arms outstretched. He was all smiles as he took his bows, but his eyes gleamed in a way that almost made Victor smile. He’s determined. Good. He’ll take this experience and grow from it.
Victor zoned out during the scoring, already knowing how he’d be judged. Chulanont had been the last to skate the short program, and he wasn’t close to challenging Georgi’s first place standing. Georgi’s own skate had been the cleanest Victor had ever seen it, and if he was able to carry that energy over into the free skate they’d be in the Final together for sure, Victor already having secured his own place with a pair of easy golds in Skate Canada and NHK.
Yakov found Victor still sitting in the stands as the crowd was thinning. “You’re joining us for dinner?” the old coach rumbled. It was barely a question. He frowned as Victor shook his head.
“Tonight is Gosha’s, and if I go I’ll just draw attention away from him.” He sighed with just the right amount of rueful, “what can you do?” disappointment in it. “I’ll hide in my room and let him enjoy his well-earned spotlight. Think of me when I’m scrounging scraps from vending machines?”
“Running up the room service bill outrageously, you mean.” But Yakov’s face had softened into something like fondness. “It’s true that the fans and the press tend to focus on you whether you skate or not,” he said finally, and Victor knew that he’d won.
It wasn’t that Victor didn’t want to give Georgi the opportunity to shine on his own – of course he did, Gosha had more than earned it – but the real truth was far more selfish. If he went to dinner and someone recognized him – and in Moscow, during Rostelecom, the chances of that happening were pretty damn high – they weren’t just going to ignore Georgi. They would want, no, insist that he be Living Legend Victor Nikiforov for them, Russia’s Golden God, St. Petersburg’s Hope—
—Victor the Oft Photoshopped, He Whose Shit Is Not Allowed to Stink, Whose Hair Is Discussed More Than His Skating, Subject of Seven Hundred RPF Smut Fics and Supposedly Beloved by All but Actually Having Only a Single (Admittedly Really Great) Dog to Love—
—and he just didn’t want to be that mask. Not tonight. Not when he didn’t have to be. Victor the dancing monkey thinks that Victor the Living Legend is an asshole, and just for tonight the dancing monkey is on strike.
Yakov was probably right about the room service bill.

Progression of New Experimentation (Weeks 33-36)
Welcome back! This post will cover the first project of Year 2, or the fourth term of Interactive Media. In this year, we are trying out new things, which will uncover new strengths and weaknesses.
The First Week
The first week involved making assets, as my specialism was game design last year. Depending on our specialism, we would go ahead and improve our skills to get ready for university. I don’t want to go to university as I don’t see it as useful, plus I would have to go far away to study even more in my area.
Anyway, on with the assets. The first asset I made was a time machine:
I originally went with a cylindrical design, which proved to be too difficult. Trying to resolve the issues would take more time than we had on the project, which was 4 weeks. Yeah, not long compared to the previous 12 weeks on my Year 1 FMP (which you can read about all over my term3itmedia blog).
So instead of cylindrical, I went with a square design, which was easier to manage. Because I have never done so before, I decided to start morphing the shapes.
To do this, I had to make each individual segment of the cuboid editable. This made each edge of the shape manageable, which led to:
...this. I thought it was a bit bland at this point and made no sense as it looked like a crushed metal box. So I put some bolts on it to make it look like it was specially built.
Then I decided to edit the inside. I started out by putting a black rectangle against the back wall, which would act as a digital screen in the game. Next to it, to make it more science-fiction looking, I added a keypad. This keypad doesn’t work in the final product, but I could make it work if I wanted to.
After some tweaking, it was time to add colours. I went with a black and red colour scheme, as it matches the theme of my project, because black and red is the colour scheme of it.
Then I decided to port it into the game. But there were some problems...
It may not look like much, but that is because I’m on the inside of the object. By default, Unity doesn’t accept objects with an inside. To fix this, I went back to Cinema 4D and did Simulate > Cloth > alt-clicking Cloth Surface, which increased the thickness of the object, both internally and externally.
And now it works perfectly fine. So I began to structure the beginning stage.
The first stage involves the character escaping the now destroyed Final Tower, by going into a time machine to go back and stop the cataclysm from happening in the first place.
The Second Week
The second week was continuing the project and overall putting more effort into trying new things. This time I made a second stage with mountains and trying out a new mechanic - entity living bases, which structure the base life of an entity, whether it’d be a person or a random cube.
Aside from the time machine, can you see anything else? That’s right, there’s an axe! This axe is what you use in the game to destroy things. However, there was another thing I chose to do, which was animation.
I had to follow a tutorial on YouTube to get it to work, which you can find by typing the title and author name from the image below:
After that, I was able to get it to work. Now, to make the axe actually destroy things... this was tough. VERY tough.
I originally had this code to tell the object that “Yes, you need to be destroyed”. What it does first is check if the object is indestructible. Then it goes through some maths to calculate the total damage value, and subtracts the entity base life with that value. If the life value is below 1, it gets destroyed.
However, there was no way to tell if you destroyed the entity or not. So I did some research and remembered that in my previous project I included health bars, so I decided to replicate that in this game.
I did have to refresh my memory with some re-researching, which proved to be tricky at first, but I got the hang of it almost immediately.
So I did more experimenting by adding destructible trees, which do nothing other than serve as decoration.
As for the entity scripts, I had to define every single value and image in the Unity hierarchy, which was tedious but easy.
The Third Week
Time was beginning to crunch, so I had to get my game on, both figuratively and physically. I started to build the third stage of the game, which was inside the house that you find in the second stage in the middle of the mountains.
After which I decided to experiment with more scripting:
The modifier of the method listed above; Virtual, means that the method can be written to later on by another class. This is very useful if you have many different entities but do not wish to include hundreds of lines of code in the base method, since you can attach the overriding script to your entity.
The modifier here; Override, means it is “overriding” the already existing method by modifying or extending the original code. For example, if the damage value is set to 43 in the existing method, in the overriding method you can set it to a lower/higher value.
After I did that, I went ahead to test another thing; Subtitles. I don’t know how you don’t know what subtitles are, but they are lines of text that appear at a position on the screen to spell out what a person is saying or what a sound is making, such as ‘(EXPLOSION)” or “(MURMURING THE LYRICS)”.
After doing that, I did a fourth stage, which is just a modification of the second stage, and a path to the final stage, which you access by destroying a reactor.
But something new had to come:
A javelin! I made the javelin in Cinema 4D and I ported it to Unity... getting it working was very difficult. So I had to follow ANOTHER tutorial, which didn’t help at all, so I pulled some code from a Unity help page.
This is what I tried before:
And this is the final result:
The difference between them is more than one of them worked and the other didn’t work, it is much more simple and required half the lines of code I had in the first place.
For all the other reasons, don’t worry. The takeaway is that it wasted a lot of my time.
After I finished the javelin, I began work on the final stage, which is a boss battle. If you don’t know, boss battles are difficult stages in the game that require the player’s skills to beat. An example of this is:
youtube
Bosses are aggressive enemies that have a significant challenge against players. Usually, defeating a boss advances the game in some way. In my case, killing the boss finishes the game.
To test out more elements in the game, I made a test level in a separate scene as I didn’t want to mess up anything in the current levels. This test level contained 2 cubes, a teleport and the player’s main weapons - the axe and the javelin. During this time, I also tried out animation on the enemies, which worked very well:
youtube
youtube
The Fourth Week
The fourth and final week was about polishing the game to give it more quality and having the possibility to get it finished.
First of all, I made an interactive menu:
In this scene, you can see the first stage of the game situated as a menu, with GRAVITY on top of the brick wall by the broken house, which is the name of the game.
After finishing the menu, I worked on an end screen.
In this scene, you can see an end screen, which appears after the boss battle. If I had more time and if I was willing to, I would make more stages in the game. But if you know me personally, you’ll know I never like leaving off on something unfinished.
If you’re curious, here’s the original image (only changed the text):
So that’s it. A game made in 4 weeks. Not the best thing I've done and certainly not the fastest I’ve ever completed one, but is one that tells you this;
“You’ll never know if you’re bad at something unless you try it. All that you can do when attempting it is just keep trying until you hit a wall.”
...which I did a lot throughout this project. 65% downs and 35% ups, with the ups being the moment where I knew I could do it. The 65% downs were everything I tried that were new, which I thought were going to end horribly.
After the game had been built, I decided to make a fake Steam page for it in Photoshop, which would make it look like the game is for sale on Steam.
Maybe next time, I’ll stick to something simpler.
My next project will be covered on term5itmedia, but stay tuned on this blog as I may have extra research coming.

ASAMAIGE OGAGA: THE COME UP.
I started using Tumblr as far back as 2014 and you already know, I was being exposed to a whole lot of creative, imaginative and innovative content and materials. The poetry, the GIFs the songs, the memes, even the porn and most especially the pictures; everything on there was and is still very different, almost defiant, avant-garde and beautiful. It’s like the heaven of social media. I started getting and breeding my own ideas. I told my mom one time that I wanted to be a photographer, just on the side, not even as a real professional, she wasn’t impressed at all and she basically just laughed it off.
After that, still on on the journey of trying to create something new and original and fun, I got the idea of publishing an anthology that had pictures and illustrations bearing the same themes as the poetry works in the book. So, I began a search for photographers and writers. I had my friend Alabi Gideon introduce me to Asamaige Ogaga. I had never heard of him previously and then I decided to check up on his work on the internet. It was a really crazy mix of emotions for me. I was awed, petrified, impressed and a little angry at myself, in a positive way so to speak, I had to question myself on how much work I was putting in into what I was doing, seeing the adeptness, professionalism and beauty Asamaige’s artworks portrayed. I wanted to meet him on a more personal level you know, just to have a peek at a little bit of the things going on in his head. After a series of hangouts and meals together on different days, on a chilled out Sunday evening under palm trees, children playing all around in the grass, a horse striding recklessly back and forth in the streets, there I got my wish. Hallelujah.
It was quite a long talk with Asamaige Ogaga, it was also a big privilege chatting to the very humble and deep reasoning intellectual. Hope you enjoy the fucking interview.
1. How did you start photography? What prompted you to start taking pictures?
My brother did a little bit of graphics design in the university. He used to edit and work on a lot of pictures for different people and I was a bit jealous of the attention he was getting from it. My sister also had some photography classes after university, she was really good with Photoshop but she never had a camera and then she had to go for Masters. I got into the university with the same skills as my siblings and I did the same things they did.
Later, my friend Gbemiga Marshall a fashion enthusiast, included me as one the photographers that would be working at a dinner for his department. I got my camera then although I later passed on that event after a senior photographer in the school, Mr. Babarinde advised me to set myself aside from the other photographers and decline on regular school shoots. I had a lot of shoots with people like Gbemiga Marshall and Pelumi Leoso and so with the kind of fashion influence around me at that time, I spurred on to become a fashion photographer.
2. What’s the photography business like? How do your appointments come through?
Presently, the only way I get appointments is by recommendations from my past clients. Instagram is also a big internet advertising tool for me and I make sure I follow the kind of people I want to work with.
3. You recently had your works featured in an African fashion article on CNN, although you weren’t properly duly accredited, did you at least feel good about seeing your works on a world renowned news company magazine?
Honestly, when I saw that feature, I felt great and happy, I felt like I’ve achieved something big, although that’s not really where I was hoping to see my works displayed or seen, it’s still a big thing for me.
4. We the new generation are engaging and indulging in new, creative and futuristic works of art. Do your parents know what you’re doing? Do they “rate” your work as compared to engineers and doctors and lawyers and politicians?
My parents know right now that doing nothing is really bad, so I think they should at least be contented with the fact that I’m doing something with my time and I’m doing well.
5. You are still presently a student of mechanical engineering in the university, is there any chance you will be pursuing a career in that field when you’re done with school?
I initially just wanted to be a mechanical engineer when I was younger, but as I grew older and got exposed to a lot of different things, my attention drifted a little. I would still like to be an engineer in the future, I’m very creative generally so I’d like to improve on the present technology we have now. Also, I’d like to have a big mechanical workshop in the future.
6. What’s been the most challenging shoot you’ve ever done?
I think it would be the project that got featured on CNN. I’d previously never actually worked with a proper creative director before and so I wasn’t really used to the ordering around of people, it was a little annoying, a lot of ideas I had for the shoot were termed “Nigerian” and turned down. It was quite frustrating but I still enjoyed it.
7. I understand you write poetry and also like music, do you plan on working on and releasing any poetry or musical projects soon? If yes, can you enlighten us on what you’re working on?
I write sometimes and have also tried making beats. I am presently working on an anthology with Mercy Williams and Femi Johnson, planned to be released only digitally, it’s titled “What Is This Life?” I did a shoot back in February, Mercy Williams had written a series of poems bearing the same message I was trying to pass across with the pictures and then we settled on creating an anthology since people easily related to what we were doing at the time. It should be out by November, by God’s grace.
8. What’s a typical shoot like for you? How long does it take to design the shoot setting, prepare the model and project your ideas on unto the shooting process?
Right now, I wouldn’t embark on any project or do any shoots without a stylist. My work has grown and advanced and people and I expect a certain level of professionalism in what I do. I would always want the model’s dressing to be almost perfect because I keep in my mind that my pictures could serve as a form of advertisement of the clothing brands in use. I’m also presently trying to assemble a team of people that would work for me and with me.
9. What’s the relationship between a gunman and a photographer?
(Laughs) Point. Aim. Shoot.
The big difference between a photographer and a gunman is that a photographer immortalises while a gunman just kills. (Laughs again)
10. Does a good working relationship with MUAs and stylists promote a photographer’s opportunity or recommendations to work on other projects?
Yes. That’s very important in this business, if people don’t like you or what you’ve done, they won’t recommend you to other clients. That’s why I always thank God for the first stylist I worked with, her name is Onyeka Nwobu, she runs the Vane Karolle brand. The first shoot I did with her was for Blanck Magazine, it was a photojournalism shoot and I wasn’t too impressed with what I did, Onyeka liked it though and she later recommended me for an editorial shoot with FASHPA. I have another shoot with her coming up soon. It’s just really nice to have people with the same ambitions and dreams with you around you.
11. Which photographers do you look up to in Nigeria and abroad?
I won’t really say I have mentors but I admire and respect TY Bello’s reputation as a photographer in Nigeria, she’s done shoots with different people ranging from Olamide to Pastor Adeboye, it’s crazy. She has almost become a household brand name for photography in Nigeria, you know, I want to be something like that. I also like Can Dargarslani and Michal Pudelka.
12. I think photographers are everywhere every time, photography is also probably an easy skill or art to learn on the surface with the invent of the new types of technology we have now, how do you distinguish yourself from others being a professional?
Nothing is new under the sun. I differ myself from the other photographers by just doing the opposite of what they do. If every photographer wants to eat rice, I’d go for beans.
13. Would you shoot me for free?
When I started doing photography, I used to do a lot of free shoots, but that was before. Personally, like I earlier said I feel like I have advanced greatly in what I’m doing and I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t be compensated for my works.

Atlus Is Currently Hiring! Interview With "Persona" Character Designer Shigenori Soejima #DESKWATCH
2017.04.28
#DESKWATCH is a project that shines the spotlight on creators of illustrations, manga, anime, videos, music…. and their work environment. Discover how these gems of creativity are born, and what kind of tools professional creators use through photos and interviews!
Interview & article by Momoka Ito (vi) Pictures by Satopon
This time we visited Atlus, the video game studio behind groundbreaking titles such as Shin Megami Tensei, Persona and Etrian Odyssey. We were also lucky enough to have the chance to interview Shigenori Soejima, character designer for the Persona series and art director of Atlus new project Project Re Fantasy. We asked him about his illustrations and about the way he does design.
▲ Project Re Fantasy is a brand new project that is still under development. It's produced by Katsura Hashino, who also produced Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, and character designer Shigenori Soejima tagged along.
We also heard that Atlus is looking for new staff, and we decided to give you all a chance by creating a special platform on pixiv to make your entry! In you're interested, please check the application form at the end of the article.
▲ This time we visited Soejima's workspace, a.k.a. the "P・STUDIO" floor.. At the entrance, we were greeted by Persona 4 mascotte Teddie and a vending machine.
I started to work at Atlus right after graduating. What is it like to work at Atlus?
-- I guess every video game fan already knows what Atlus is, but can you tell us something about your company? What are your most representative titles?
The most famous ones are without any doubt Shin Megami Tensei and the Persona series. Other representative titles are the Etrian Odyssey series and the most recent Catherine.
-- How did you start working at Atlus?
It was 1995. I just graduated, and Atlus had just started to produce Revelations: Persona. I started working there as a designer, but at the time the separation between tasks wasn't so harsh so I ended up doing a little bit of everything. Even pixel art.
-- Why did you choose Atlus?
It was because it wasn't such a big company at the time. (laughs) I thought if I were to enter a big company, I wouldn't have had much freedom to do whatever I pleased. On the other hand, at a company like Atlus I had many opportunities to give my contribution.
-- What software are you using mainly?
Paint Tool SAI and Photoshop.
For the part where I use my pen tablet, I use SAI. So lines, coloring... I use Photoshop mainly to adjust the colors and to add special effects. Sometimes I also use CLIP STUDIO.
-- Do you use a LCD tablet or a regular one?
I've been using a regular tablet for the longest time, 'cause I didn't like the idea of hiding my illustrations with my hand. However, I heard so many times about how great LCD tablets are that I'm thinking to get one. (laughs) I'm a creature of habit. If there's a device I like to use, I'll keep using even after it gets obsolete. Other members of the staff, though, use much newer things.
▲ His PC is a Windows 7, Intel Core i7 - 6700 32GB memory at 3.4 GHz. Soejima's favorite pen tablet is an "Intuos 3" from 10 years ago. A good workman does not blame his tools!
-- What are your must-have items?
My headphones. I use BOSE and AKG. The latter are the result of a collaboration between AKG and Persona 5.
▲ These "AKG K845BT" feature Persona 5 character Sakura Futaba.
-- Since headphones are your must-have item, I imagine you listen to a lot of music while you work!
Yes, mainly video game music. Or better, the music from the game I'm currently working for.
The atmosphere of my illustrations changes quite a lot according to what kind of music I'm listening, so I always try to get the BGM music data in advance to use it while I'm drawing.
-- I see, so you're using the BGM of the title you're working on. I'm kinda jealous of your work environment!
Creators can move freely at Atlus
-- If you're a creator, you have two choices: to work as a freelancer and to work for a company. Can you tell us the advantages and disadvantages of being an employee?
One of the advantages is that you have always people around you. If you're working as a freelancer, you always have to contact your editor via phone or chat. If you work for a company, though, everyone is already there - you just need to go to their office and you can talk to them right away.
▲ In the company's common space, we found plenty of "P・STUDIO" paraphernalia.
▲ Daiichi Production, the studio behind "Shin Megami Tensei" and "Etrian Odyssey", has a shared tatami space inside the office.
▲ The common space of Studio Zero, the studio working on"Project Re Fantasy". The layout facilitates the communication between each floor.
▲ A one-of-a-kind controller to commemorate the advent of Persona 5 sent from someone who works at Atlus USA. We need this...!
When you're a creator of any kind, it can be hard to complete a project or gather all necessary ideas by yourself. Having a group of people around you can really help!
Also, you can get all the equipment you need. If you tell someone "I need this thing for my work", they're gonna buy it for you. And I'm not only talking about hardware - they'll gather resources and whatever else you need. One of the merits of working in a company is that the environment built around you is thought for work.
However, the thing I like the most is the dynamism that working for a game company creates. Many brains mean many ideas, many illustrations, many people involved in the game. I really love this about Atlus.
The disadvantage is... Having a last train home. (laughs) There are limitations on how much we can work, so if I end up staying too late someone is gonna get angry at me.
But let's think about it. You need to learn self-management this way, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.
-- Can you tell us something more about Atlus work rules?
Core time is from 11 until 16. During that time span, you should be at the company. But since work hours are flexible, they tend not to be too strict. You can get to work early in the morning and go home 8 hours later, or you can get to the office just in time for core time, at 11 o'clock.
-- It's nice to have that kind of freedom! How many hours do you work?
When deadlines are approaching, I can work all day every day... (laughs) But basically, I work according to the rules.
-- What do you do in order to rest your eyes and hands?
I think it's really important to choose the perfect chair. My company really values a nice work environment, so everyone is usually sitting on a very nice chair.
Us designers, unlike illustrations, don't really keep drawing for hours and hours. We often look at materials and resources or have meetings. That's why I don't think the burden on our bodies is too big.
What are the limitations on character design? Joys and sorrows of group work
-- Can you tell what goes inside the head of a character designer? How can you become good at it?
"Character design" means to create the setting for a certain character, but I think that the ability to draw is a prerequisite in order to be able to convey all their characteristics.
A thing I realized when I entered this company is that even if you're good at drawing, that doesn't mean you will make a good character designer. Competitions inside the company can get pretty harsh, but sometimes it can happen that designs from people who can't draw end up being adopted. For the initial concept, stick figures are usually better than super detailed characters.
It might be hard to get good at design if you're not that good at drawing, but I'm pretty sure that "drawing skills" and "design skills" are two completely different things. I realized all these things after joining Atlus, and since then I've always been drawing to increase my skills as a designer.
-- What is the best way to increase your skills as a designer?
Of course, it's important to observe what's around you... But there's something less vague that you could do. Personally, I started from asking myself: "What's the thing that I enjoy the most?" I think when you start drawing something you're always influenced by what's popular at that time. Then, you start looking for ways to be different from the popular creators. However, you don't always get results right away. I was even scolded by my boss because I couldn't find a satisfying output, a way to be different. (laughs) He told me to just be myself and to draw what I felt like drawing. Since that moment I started actively thinking about how to create something that was different from whatever came in the past. I started to find the things I was missing. It's important to continuously try to perfect yourself, both by studying and by finding new interests.
▲ Even a successful designer like Soejima was scolded at the start of his career.
-- What's the most fun thing about character design?
To give shape to a character that has only a vague image gives me a blast every time.
Characters are not something that I make on my own, but that our team creates together. I like sharing what I made with the team, and everyone usually reacts with "Oh, so this is what this character was like!"
When I have to design a character, I start with written indications. Going from that to an actual physical image... That's the most fun that I have during my job.
-- And what's the most frustrating thing?
Since design is quite different from plain art, there are many things that I have to consider when creating a character. I have to think that that same character will be made into a 3D model and animated... And if, for example, character A and character B are brothers they should resemble each other. I have to base my drawings on character settings, and that leads to some limitations. It's very hard to respect those limitations while creating a good character.
▲ Character creation is something that various members of the staff collaborate on. It doesn't matter how small a character is, there's always much thought going into it.
-- I think that the designs for "personas" appearing in the Persona series are very cool and stylish. How are these creatures born?
The first thing that I consider is what kind of impression that persona will leave when it meets the eye of the player.
Do you want it to be cool? Scary? I mix different ingredients according to the kind of persona I want to create.
However, designs that are too easy to understand can end up resulting quite boring. I like to add elements that create a little mystery... I want the players to think "why does this persona look like this?". My intent is not only to create good looking creatures but also to make the player curious about the original setting for each of them.
-- What would you recommend to all those who're aiming for a career as an illustrator or character designer?
I think the best method to learn something is "to make it into a job". If you only do something as a hobby, you'll tend to be biased towards things you like.
By entering a company, you'll have the chance to draw both things from your specialty field and things outside of it.
When I joined Atlus I was quite confident about my skills, but I can't say the same about drawing something outside my field of interest. I remember clearly what one of my senpai said to me back then: "Soejima, you pretend like you can draw anything, but you actually can't draw at all". (laughs) So instead of working at your desk and thinking "I'd like to make this into a job one day", get out there and make it into a job. And I hope you will choose our company!

▲ Soejima drew Persona 5 character Makoto Niijima just for us. How beautiful is this!?
Atlus is currently hiring! Apply through pixiv!
-- I would like to ask you something about recruiting. What made you decide to recruit new staff?
After Persona 5 was released, the same team is considering to work on another project, Project Re Fantasy by Studio Zero, which I'm working on as an art director. Apart from that, Atlus is planning to launch a new project for Shin Megami Tensei 25th anniversary, but we don't have enough staff to cover all that...
We are especially looking for artists, and we heard that the best place to find them is a certain treasure cave called pixiv.
▲ Studio Zero, the freshly established studio that deals with Atlus new project. To stimulate further growth and to follow the tradition of existing Atlus projects, they are hiring new personnel.
-- Is this offer limited to newly graduated students?
No, we don't really care about that. You can apply even if you're in the middle of your career, or if you were a student quite a few years ago. People who are currently working as freelancers are also welcome to apply. We are looking for graphic creators to join our team at Atlus.
-- Isn't gonna be hard to get hired at a company like Atlus, that produces such original games?
Thank you for complimenting our company. However, it's not like people without original ideas can't find a job at Atlus! And it's not like you have to know anything and everything about Atlus if you want to join. If you played Shin Megami Tensei you probably have this image of Atlas as a super serious company, but rest assured that the creators and members of the staff are only serious when doing their job. (laughs) We are very passionate about creating original contents, but as a team we are pretty standard. It's a regular company. The tendency is to join everyone's forces when it comes to creating a new title. If you're interested in this creative side of the production, please apply! So if you're interested in becoming a character designer or an illustrator, we will be more than happy to have you!
-- Thank you so much! And to all artists out there who dream to work at Atlus... Please send your application using the form below!
★ ATLUS - Creators Wanted! Application Form ★
Make your dreams come true "right now", and not "some other day"!
Such a wholesome interview, the one we had with Atlus character designer Soejima! He told us that, rather than practice at your desk, it's way better to just find a job to get your skills up! Is it just a chance that Atlus is currently hiring new creators and staff? If you want to have a chance to make your dreams come true right now, don't miss this unique opportunity! #DESKWATCH checks out the inspiring desks of creators and observes as they strive to deliver the best quality work.

Is The Photoshop World Conference Right For Me?
Last year’s opening keynote.
We did a live webcast last week about the upcoming Photoshop World Conferences (one in Orlando at the end of next month, and then Vegas near the end of August), and we had a number of folks asking if the conference was for them (was it over their head? Did they have to be pros to attend, stuff like that). So, while we covered a bit of that during the Webcast, I thought I’d tackle it in more detail here today in case you’re wondering if Photoshop World is right for you. Here we go:
Q. Is Photoshop World mostly for pros? A. Most of the people there will be hobbyists, beginner to advanced photographers or designers, and there will be some pros, and aspiring pros (folks who’d like to make some money off photography one day, but they already have another full-time job so it would be a side hustle).
Q. I thought driving for Uber was a side hustle? A. Well, that’s true (it has to be true, ’cause I heard it on an Uber radio ad), but there apparently are two other ‘side hustles,’, those being driving for Lyft and of course, photography.
Q. I’m kinda new to photography, will I be lost at the conference? Will it be over my head? A. The people who learn the most, and get the most out of Photoshop World are people who are kinda new at all this. Ive read literally thousands of evaluation forms from folks who have attended our previous conferences (this is our 20th year producing the conference), and while I’ve read many evals from people who said that they feared it would be over their head, in nearly every case they told us they were relieved that it wasn’t and that they learned a ton.
Q. I’m not really big into Photoshop, I’m more of a Lightroom user, will there be anything for me? A. There will be a ton for you! We have a Lightroom training track that runs every day all day during the conference, and we cover about every imaginable Lightroom topic from the ground up.
Q. What about Lightroom for the Playstation 4? Do you cover that? A. There is no Lightroom for the Playstation 4.
Q. Yes there is. A. No there isn’t and that’s not a question. You must state your response in the form of a question.
Q. What is this, Jeopardy? A. Kinda. Thank you, next. (By the way, I know nobody got that last reference. It was just for me and my 13-year-old daughter who does get stuff like that, thanks to YouTube and SnapChat.
Q. So, it’s called Photoshop World, is it mostly Photoshop classes? A. There are a bunch of Photoshop classes, but there are more classes on photography; portraits and lighting, Lightroom (as I mentioned, but only for Lightroom on the Xbox), travel and landscapes, plus some really brilliant classes on the business side of photography. There is also a design track along with classes on Adobe’s Creative Cloud but the conference is more of a photography conference these days. Photoshop is still a very important part of the photography workflow, so we have lots of those classes, too.
Q. Scott, is there any chance you could embed a short 33-second video clip here that would give me a brief glimpse of what the conference is about? A. That’s a very specific request, but it happens to be one I really like, so sure. Here ya go, kind stranger:
youtube
Q. I’m new at all the post-processing stuff, like Lightroom and Photoshop. Will I be lost? A. What I would recommend is to come a day early, before the official conference begins and take one of our in-depth workshops on Photoshop or Lightroom. That way, you’ll get a jump start on learning, and you’ll be able to take the classes in the conference track and pick up a lot more. We have lots of folks who do this every year, and it works surprisingly well. Well, that’s what they’ve told us anyway.
Q. Is this more of a trade show or education? A. It is definitely an educational conference first and foremost. We do have a small partner pavilion where some of our friends and sponsors will be exhibiting, but right alongside them we have live theaters for more training, we have live sets for you to shoot and try out new gear, and you’ll have a great time hanging out there, even though our main focus is on education.
Q. What if I come alone. Will it be weird? A. You won’t be alone for long. The conference is designed for you to meet new people, and make new friends, and we have all sorts of events to get you together with other folks, including folks that are there alone like you. In fact, the first night we have special dinners set up called ‘Dinner with a Stranger’ where you all meet-up at a restaurant, share a meal at the same table, and suddenly you have 12 or 14 new people you didn’t know when you landed. We’ve been doing this for years now and it’s always a big hit.
Q. Should I bring my camera? A. Absolutely! We have sets for you to shoot on, and photography challenges for you to try, and live models to shoot (which are so much more appealing than having dead models to shoot. Lesson learned).
Q. Should I stay right there in the Hyatt in Orlando? A. Well, yes, but only if you’re going to the conference in Orlando (sorry, I couldn’t help myself). We have the run of the place at the Hyatt (or host hotel), but the rooms are nearly sold out (last year we sold out in advance), so go grab your rooms right now, and stay right in the middle of everything (it’s where all our staff, crew, and instructors are staying, and well, pretty much everything happens there. It’s been our favorite venue for Photoshop World ever because everything is right there. It’s all just steps away. Such a perfect place for a conference like ours. Here’s the link for travel info.
Q. Do I get a discount if I’m a KelbyOne member? A. You bet! You get $100 off the full conference pass, and if you book right now, you’ll save another $100 using the Early Bird special, so that’s $200 off. Sweet!
Q. Scott, I so loved that 33-second video you so kindly embedded above. It was epic (I cried several times). But I’m a photographer, do you have any stills from the event I can see. That would really inspire me! A. Well, I’m a sucker for heartfelt genuine requests like yours, so OK, here’s a link to a post I did with loads of images and the stories behind it all. Get your tissues ready, it’s even more epic than the 33-second video. Here’s the link.
Q. Will I meet other people from the KelbyOne Community? A. We have a community hang-out lounge just outside the classrooms in the main lobby, and you’ll see me, and some of our community leaders and other instructors all hanging out there together, and we’d love it if you came by and hung out, too. All the cool kids will be there.
Q. Really, all the cool kids? A. Actually, no. Some of the really cool kids will have skipped class and gone to Disney World. Others will be stealing cars. That’s pretty much the only two options for cool kids in Florida. Well, that and aligator wrestling.
Q. Is it OK if I have questions for the instructors or just want to say hi? A. Are you kidding? That is what Photoshop World is all about. We’re all in this together. We’re here to help, and our instructors are the most genuine, helpful, passion folks on the planet (and hand-picked because of it), and I can tell you without reservation they would love to meet you, they’re happy to answer your questions, and you’ll see them everywhere during the event – at the first night Meet-Up; at the After Hour party, at Midnight Madness, at the restaurants and lounges at the hotel (they really like to booze it up…I mean, they enjoy the occasional adult beverage), and would be tickled if you came up and said hi. I sure would. Not the boozing stuff. The ‘hi’ stuff.
Q. What if I’m looking for more advanced training? A. You’ll find it here, too. Advanced classes usually have Advanced in the title, but you can also tell by reading the class descriptions if it’s for you or not. I think you’d be surprised that even if you’re intermediate level, our instructors are such great communicators and teachers, that you’d still be able to keep up. Yes, they are that good.
Q. Do I have to sign up for which classes I want to attend beforehand? A. You do not, and that’s one of the things that I like best about our conference. You can choose any full conference class, any time, and move between classes any time you like, so if you wind up in a class that you quickly realize is too advanced or too beginner for you, you can just move to any other class in any other track at any time. How cool is that?
Q. That is cool. A. That was more of a rhetorical question, but thanks.
Q. Can you help me convince my boss that she should send me to Photoshop World this year? A. We sure can, because we’ve already written a highly convincing, fact-filled, mind-blowing (that’s pushing it) letter to your boss telling her why it’s as awesome as everybody says it is, and all you have to do it copy and paste it into an email to her (and add your name, of course), and that’ll do the trick (at least it has for a whole bunch of folks). Here’s the link to the letter.
Q. Is the conference open to anyone? A. Everybody is welcome at Photoshop World, but the folks you’ll find there are: Photographers (landscape and travel photographers, wedding photographers, wildlife, flash and lighting lovers, street photographers, pet photographers; headshot photographers and fashion photographers, food photographers, and photo-journalists). Plus, you’ll have lots of graphic designers, freelancers, web developers, video editors, ninjas, rodeo cowboys, and Art Directors. You’ll have pros, hobbyists, beginners, intermediate and advanced users. It’s basically a bunch of creative people, from all skill levels and backgrounds, coming together to this one place to get away from everything else to focus on learning, laughing and making new friends.
Q. Do I have to dress in “Business casual?” A. We like being really comfortable when we’re learning, so the dress is totally casual. In fact, the whole atmosphere is casual. You’ll dig it. We also have several clothing optional events (not really, but it’s worth a try in 2020).
Q. If I come, can I enter the Guru Awards competition. I hear it’s a pretty big thing? A. Yes, it is, and no, you may not.
Q. Really? A. OK, you can enter if you pay the Guru Awards entry fee.
Q. How much is that? A. It’s free for conference attendees, but then only conference attendees can enter this competition in the first place, so basically, everybody enters for free. Entire careers have been launched off winning a Guru Award, so I hope you’ll enter.
Q. Do you think I’ll win? A. No. It’s all rigged, but it’s fun to enter anyway.
Q. Really? A. You say “Really? a lot. But no, it’s not rigged. However, it’s a large panel of judges, and a few do accept bribes. When you shake their hands, just have some folded up bills in there. Do it smooth, like you’re tipping a Vegas casino host to get a good seat for the Celine Dion show.
Q. Really? Seriously? A. No, of course not. You should definitely enter, and you certainly have a shot at winning. The odds are in your favor because it’s only people who are attending the conference that can enter. But to be honest, I’ve seen your work, and I wouldn’t hold out much hope.
Q. Seriously? Really? A. Wow, you are so gullible. You’re not ready for Vegas Photoshop World. You’ll come home broke, or wind up in jail. Go to Orlando. The worst trouble you’ll get into there is a parking ticket at Johnny Rockets or maybe getting kicked off the monorail for yelling “!Por favor manténgase alejado de las puertas.”
Q. OK, actually this all sounds pretty awesome, where do I sign up? A. Here’s the link to the official site. You can choose Orlando (May 31-June 2, 2019), or Las Vegas at the Mirage Resort & Casino (August 21-23rd, 2019).
Q. One more thing, will Peter Hurley be there. I love Peter Hurley. A. I’m sorry, all questions must be submitted in writing.
Q. That question was submitted in writing! A. Oh. I see. Well, Okay then, yes, Peter Hurley will be teaching at the conference. I love Peter Hurley, too. We all do. He is love.
Q. What does that even mean, “He is love?” A. I dunno. I think I saw it on a billboard once, but you said “One more thing” two questions ago, so it’s time to move along little doggie.
Well folks, I hope you found that somewhat informative, a non-irritant, and that it gets even the toughest stains out of carpets, linens, and even upholstery on the first try (see, this is what happens when I finish a blog post at 1:27 am on a Sunday).
Hope I’ll see you at the conference in Orlando, or Vegas, and if you’ve got any questions I didn’t address here, just drop a comment below and I’ll pick ’em up during the day, and have them washed and folded by six.
Cheers,
-Scott
