The boy Yazen Kafarna died of an illness in the hospital in Rafah.  There is no shortage of food in Rafah (where all the supplies come in on trucks from Egypt). Next to Kafarna in the picture is his father, who does not seem to lack food and does not seem to live in difficult conditions.

i wish people understood how their complacency and reluctance to mobilise against their leaders who are complicit in this genocide is affecting people. it’s not just the bombs and guns… it’s the siege as a whole. and these deaths those criminal soldiers may not even count in their death count because he “died of medical reasons”.

please share yazan’s story. to anyone reading this… please do something. anything. just make an effort to make sure there aren’t more yazans suffering. please.

Dezenas de milhares de homens, jovens e idosos, estão feridos ou mutilados, cidades ucranianas inteiras foram arrasadas, milhões de pessoas deslocadas estão vivendo no exterior, milhares de minas estão destinadas a prejudicar a vida futura da população inocente... O que ainda precisa acontecer para que a violência pare e possamos nos sentar à mesa para negociar uma paz justa?

Como uma manifestação em prol do cessar-fogo pode promover a paz? Na Itália (e em vários outros lugares do mundo em diferentes datas), no dia 09/03, em Roma, milhares de pessoas se reúnem para expressar a urgência em que se encontram os ucranianos e os palestinos.

A busca pela paz precisa ser uma preocupação mundial que se enraíze nos profundos princípios da sociedade em suas origens. Contudo, até que ponto manifestações como essas, conseguem alcançar os seus reais objetivos de conquistar a execução e o respeito aos direitos humanos? De fato, a pressão popular consegue movimentar posições políticas, manter ou dissolver governos, mas talvez enfrente dificuldades em frear os exercícios de violência que acontecem dentro dos conflitos internacionais atuais.

Concluímos que há uma grande diferença entre barrar a violência e instituir a paz. Visto que, ao fim de cessar-fogo, ainda não falaremos de paz. E sim de ausência de guerra, reconstrução de cidades, meios de atender as comunidades desamparadas. Concordamos que nada disso se iguala a paz, certo?...
