Malevolent Favorite Characters Results! 500 Milestone!!

I planned to post the Malevolent Favorite Character poll results at the 400 milestone. A few days ago, the poll had 320 responses, so I thought I'd have more time. I posted to boost the numbers, hitting 336 responses. Then Potato-lord-but-not and Percymawce-arts reblogged the link, and it blew up. Thanks to them and everyone who shared it!!!

When I first saw my notifications explode, we had 403 responses. After thanking Potato-lord-but-not and Percymawce-arts, it jumped to 413. Despite it being late, I started writing the 400 milestone post. While WRITING THE POST the number of responses jumped up 6 times! Making it tricky to keep up as I had to keep checking what the new response voted so I won’t miss their vote. 

I went to bed with 419 responses, thinking we'd stay under 500. But the next morning, after getting my birthday cake with my mom, I saw we had 478 responses! Yeah. I couldn’t post a 400 milestone list when I was so close to 500!

And then we hit 500! 500! Half of a THOUSAND!!! A number I considered would be an “end point” when I first made this poll! (Obviously it’s not going to be, I’m going to keep this poll up forever!) So! THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE POLL! FOR THOSE WHO STILL HAVEN’T AND WANT TO YOU STILL CAN!! Here’s the link! Your response will be in the 600 milestone post! I wasn't sure if you wanted fandom specific ones so here's just a collection of some of my all time favourites. These aren't one's that I've linked on this blog before, just because I already have given those appreciation posts and I have SO MANY FICS and authors that I love. Anyways, all of these are /reader - and most have mature tags, so just be mindful : )

BG3:

[Ongoing!] Hellish Rebuke by @bludazey is an Ascended!Astarion fic that answers the open ended state we left Tav and Astarion in. It's dark and filled with drama in such an addicting way I am literallly almost falling off my chair waiting to see what happens in it! Everyone within it is characterised well and the lore put into our MC makes choices a much more 3 dimensional thing as they are not a blank slate like the ingame Tav! [Complete!] Aleatory by @avas-poltergeist is a prequel fic for a durge run centering Astarion x Durge and it's a fic that knows the tone it should take and executes it perfectly. I especially love how it doesn't hold your hand through it's narrative and doesn't treat it's reader as if they are stupid. Some actions, feelings and thoughts are almost done as if they are environmental storytelling and I am a SUCKER for it. Also I just adore the durge being a halfling- they are characterised perfectly. Transformers:

[Complete!] Gravity by @shinyportalsandthings - ohhh my god I dont even what to say. This fic is a Starscream fic and wheeew boi it can be hard to make the gremlin a compelling romance but this fic blows it out the park. The dialogue is witty and natural- I adore the scale of it because it's not a "let's end the millions of years long war" it's just a "let's go be happy" - UGHHH It's just so fun, redeemed Starscream I love you. ((More reccomendations for Transformers are on my metal dune, found here!)) Misc:

(Doom (2016)): [Complete] Rip And Tear (Into My Ass) by Goremungunder is one of two inspirations for my entire writing style. It's a Doomslayer insert fic and it's just perfect in every way. Such an enjoyable read and an excellent fic for a x reader tag that doesn't get much attention. I think about this fic at least once a month and have read through it like 5 times pls give it some love its amazing.

(League of Legends) [Complete - I believe- but set to ongoing] Dream a Little Dream by OrangeCrushCrushCrush is just hilarious and at the end of each chapter even features some art made by the author! All of their work is enjoyable to read, even without knowledge on the world or a pre-existing like for the character. I mean, the second half of this fic is centered around Yorick Mori- a character in League I had literally NEVER touched- but then I read this and mained top lane for like 4 months after.

I think I could actually go on forever, but I'll stop here for now. Thank you for the question Star! I really love getting to go through my bookmarks and deciding what I want to reread XD

that post of yours about how every yandere in league of legends is consenting made me think about how they are when it comes to jealousy I just love your posts

Author's notes: I know, im very young in this plataform, but things in my "love life" make me change a LOT of things in my life, so... I guess that i'm coming back bcs i "come back" to normal.

Also I had this thought for a long time so... Let me explain it first.

Of course that i will divide it in a total of four categories:

1- Just in a extreme jeolusy feeling, it gonna "take measures".

2- Tries to hide the jealous, but in one point just gets carried away they emotions.

3- Meticulous search of that person, and subsequent kill.

4- Violent reaccion in view of the jealousy.

5- A REAL violent reaccion in view of the jealousy.

So, let's start

And, there are two exception of all of this categories; Ezreal and Graves. Why? Well, First i thought that both of them would really be the 3rd categorie, but then i realiced that... The two of them would TRY to kill the cause of they jealousy, but... They literally kill the "cause" by accident ---or directly didn't even get it---, so... that is my explication.

Im gonna say it, it was so funny to do this, and I really say that I must be thankfull to all of the Anon's that try activelly to "revive" this side of mine of hiperfilaxion with Yanderism and my favorite games.

Also, I learned to crochet and do pixel art so im guess that im gonna put some of that from time to time in this account. I wish to all of you the best! <3

Would it make much of a significant change if, say, Ella was born a boy instead(so, Rhaegar??). So, Daemon and Rhea have three sons instead of just two.

I would assume they would still claim and have their respective dragons like in SOTF(come on, Cannibal and Yorick are soulmates), but in Ella/or Rhaegar's case, would he be more unhinged? I don't doubt the Roycegaryen kids's love for their mom, one bit, but since Ella is born a boy, that would mean Daemon probably took him with Yorick to King's Landing, too.

Much discussion had to be had to figure this out (because while I've thought--not in depth mind you--about Roycegaryens Genderswap AU, I haven't thought about a "they're all boys" au) & it's not totally figured out how it would be different, but I've got a chunk of it so let's go!

So, the names would be switched around a little bit. Ella was born first, so she'd be Yorick & our Yorick would be "Rhaegar." For the purposes of this as I'm gonna keep it easy & mostly refer to them as boy!Ella & Rhaegar!Yorick, & we're only gonna use the in-universe names when it feels like it suits the need. Also, because boy!Ella is, y'know, a boy, Daemon would actually notice that this is the kid who's like him & be slightly less focused on trying to mold Rhaegar!Yorick into being his mini me like he tried with canon!Yorick. There'd still be Vizzy's weird projection because all versions of Yorick look like the late Prince Baelon, but that wouldn't be the "be all end all" for both Targ Brothers. That would inevitably change things from the get-go, for sure. Now, I'm gonna try & bullet point the alterations I know would happen just to try & keep this sort of coherent.

The "let's deflect from my brother wanting me to have another kid & piss off my dumb wife I hate & take my son as a squire" thing would still happen. Daemon would propose taking both of the twins, but because there's two boys now one of the other adults present would probably bring up the "just have one & the other stays at Runestone" thing. Either Aemma trying to minimize damage or Vizzy going full delusion, either way boy!Ella remains at Runestone due to being the heir, & Rhaegar!Yorick is in King's Landing to be Daemon's squire because that will offer him more training for things he could do with his life now that he's not the heir to Runestone.

When this gets agreed upon, this makes a bit of a rivalry form between the twins. Because boy!Ella is still working off the same logic as canon!Ella, so the whole "I need to convince dad to be proud of me" would become "I need to make dad love me the most because I should be his squire instead of Rhaegar." There wouldn't be any outright animosity between the twins during visits to King's Landing to go see Rhaegar!Yorick, it would just translate less as "codependent we shouldn't have been separated, that's my other half your honor" & more "time to be super competitive with my brother to prove myself!"

Things are mostly the same until the Go Pick Up Daemon From His Drunk Night/Meet Evyn/Befriend Evyn/Get Caught In The Tunnels/Daemon Was Exiled to Dragonstone & Took Rhaegar!Yorick. That all plays out, but now the dragon claiming is boy!Ella sneaking out alone to try & prove himself in Daemon's eyes & become the favorite. Rhaegar!Yorick sees his brother sneaking out & follows him, & tells him that he's gonna go with him & be lookout because even though boy!Ella sees him as a rival they're still brothers & he can swallow his fear to stick by him. This is basically their reconciliation (because they're 10 & they were besties before the sort-of-one-sided rivalry, so it is that easy), & then the dragon claiming plays out as in the canon of SOTF

Things are unaltered again until the twins' 13th name day. The fam is in King's Landing & Daemon takes both his boys to a brothel to get laid. Rhaegar!Yorick isn't into it, Daemon tries to coerce him into being into it, & boy!Ella puts two-and-two together that "oh, my dad got my mom drunk & assaulted her at Storm's End & he's doing kind of the same thing here with my brother." This is where the resentment kicks in for boy!Ella, & a fight breaks out (yes, boy!Ella is the one with the fucked up nose in the All Boys AU & it happens way earlier)

Back to business as usual, following the events of SOTF where Daemon gets exiled (for distressing his sons & breaking boy!Ella's nose. "Daemon, that's a 13-year-old you should know better. Boy you are 28"). The Royces back in King's Landing again until the s1e1 tourney. This also goes mostly unaltered, save boy!Ella being Ser Gerold's squire & there not being the Baby's First Period stuff

Rhea still has the "I have blue screened in the throne room & blurted out that my son is betrothed to Shireen already, sorry Vizzy." So Yoreen still happens, but there's another boy in the picture so there's still a chance for Vizzy to kind of get what he wants

And it's at this point I stopped plotting things out & knowing exactly how they go down. I can however present you the absolutely cursed (& completely canon to this au) love triangle of boy!Ella/Laena/Rhaenyra. Also, I apologize for how crunchy the picture of boy!Ella is. I couldn't find a higher resolution image of Carlos Peters that I liked

Whatever happens though, boy!Ella is the baby father. Is he married to Rhaenyra & those boys are his legitimate sons? Is he married to Laena & he's slutting himself out by being Rhaenyra's side-piece to give her sons that are at least kind of believably Laenor's because "at least they're blonde?" Is he married to some heretofore unconsidered woman & he's fucking Rhaenyra and Laenor? The possibilities are endless (I mean, not really, I just listed the possibilities. But you know what I mean).

Also, Rhea Royce lives longer in this AU. The hunt that had her isolated for Daemon to kill her happened to celebrate the first grandbaby, & in an AU where Yorick isn't the heir that wouldn't really play out the same way. Both boys would be dragged to the Stepstones, I don't think there's any way around that. And it's boy!Ella's wedding who was planned for when they got back because Rhaegar!Yorick getting married isn't as much of a priority. His kids aren't gonna inherit anything. And, much like how Ella didn't get pregnant from her wedding night, boy!Ella's wife probably isn't getting pregnant immediately either. So no hunt, no isolated Lady Rhea, no murder even if Daemon is exiled in The Vale. So that's all getting stretched out, because honestly everything would get run into the ground of any version of Ella was the head of House Royce that young & that full of grief. If we've got a normal Rhea death there's a fighting chance for a normal reaction to it.

Maya, what is your favorite deck to play in Balatro? Favorite Joker?

i play almost exclusively with the anaglyph deck. i like to save up my double tags and then get like 8 negative jokers in one go hehehe. or a bunch of money or arcana or spectral decks. it’s very satisfying.

for the jokers, in terms of actually playing, my favorite is probably the mime, which is pretty boring but it’s necessary for like… any of my good setups (which always end up with some combination of mime, baron, blueprint/brainstorm)

but in terms of favorites just because i like them, i really like trading card (esp in conjunction with burnt joker) and throwback is probably my favorite aesthetically.

i’m also a big fan of the updated versions of hanging chad and yorick.

FIC REC WEEK 44 – HORROR

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: Diomedes

No other fandom author that I know of has such a gift for invoking existential dread and the sort of quiet despair that follows you even after you finish reading. Diomedes' writing style is nothing short of incredible, and I adore every single fic of theirs that I've read. If you like horror, then their AO3 catalogue is a giant, tasty treat just waiting for you to gobble it up.

Summary: They break Stark first. One by one the rest of them follow.

Reasons why I love it: Holy. Shit. I doubt that if asked, anyone could've come up with a more perfect torture for each of these characters, it's so beyond brutal. And not in a violent kind of way, just – the psychological horror, it's unimaginable. And the explanation for what was going on at the end just makes it even more awful. It's brilliant, and if you're down for some gruesome angst, definitely check this one out!

This Crowded Place

Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: M Words: 8,705 Tags: Psychological Horror, Obsessive Behavior, Religious Imagery

Summary: “Do you remember?” Steve croaked as the last of the inferno bled out of him leaving only ashes and ice behind.  Tony hesitated at the familiar refrain. “Yes.” Steve stared up at the grey ceiling and remembered a hell of their own making. He loaded the single word with contempt as he pushed it through his teeth, aimed like a weapon:  “Good.”

Reasons why I love it: I've recced the fic that this one is a sequel to before, but I'm still going to rec this one, because it's one of my favorite things ever. I love this version of Steve so much, how he's confronted with the realization that his dark side is a lot closer to the surface that he wants it to be, and maybe always was. It's dark and gruesome, and I really hope you check it out, because it's incredible!

Blooms in Frost

Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: T Words: 3,490 Tags: Body Horror, Hanahaki Disease, Not A Fix-It

Summary: Tony coughs up his first petal on the sixth of July. He has been married to the love of his life for two years. -- Bury a Hanahaki corpse in earth and it will beget the most beautiful garden.  All that love, it is said, must go somewhere.

Reasons why I love it: Jesus Christ, this fic hits you right where it hurts. It's so goddamn sad but wrapped in Diomedes' beautiful words, it's the most wonderful, awful dichotomy. I'm a huge fan of dark Hanahaki fics, and the body horror elements in this story are just perfect. I love it, and I bet you will too, so I hope you check it out!

Sleep Sisyphus (Guard your Star)

Pairing: Gen Rating: T Words: 3,426 Tags: Character Study, Howard's A+ Parenting, Introspection

Summary: Howard says Stark men are made of iron and this is not one of his lies. Iron is useful: it can be forged into weapons and bridges and keys alike. Iron is blood and magnets and the spinning core of the Earth. It is fool’s gold, it is armour. It is the heaviest element found in the heart of stars but much too heavy for a boy’s heart to carry. Tony will never forgive his father this inheritance.

Reasons why I love it: Oooffff, this one hurts. It's one of the darkest takes I've ever seen on Tony's self-image, and yet it slots so seamlessly into canon that it feels like it must be true. I love how the horror in this fic stems from something so human – the fear of never being good enough and your life amounting to nothing. It's amazingly written, as all of Diomedes' fics are, and I really hope you go and experience it for yourself!

Pairing: Gen Rating: M Words: 10,886 Tags: Grief/Mourning, Delusions, Not A Fix-It

Summary: Two days after the funeral Stephen starts hallucinating a dead man. -- A ghost story for atheists.

Reasons why I love it: This fic is like a finger in the wound, a perfect representation of that feeling of 'it never gets better'. But at the same time, there are so many moments of Stephen working through his grief that are cathartic and bittersweet. I love this fic so much, and I really hope you check it out, because it's incredible!

Who is your favorite oc ?

Hello! If “oc” in this context can be applied to “character in the book I am writing”, that’s great—because otherwise I do not have any ocs. (I know the terminology is a little loosey-goosey and I never delved into fanfiction or fan works, only original.)

My favorite character in any book or work I have written so far is Thomas Yorick, from my current historic horror fiction WIP The Sepulcher. Do forgive the self-aggrandizement of my response (if it comes across that way) but he is everything I love in a character: charming, goofy, visually intriguing without being out of place, secretly very sincere and dealing with past anguish, and a little bit irritating to other characters. I have put so much time and thought into him as a character and his role in the narrative and worked hard on his backstory—as well as how it impacts him and influences his actions and words as he responds to the happenings of the world around him.

I try so hard with all my characters because I write character-driven works, and The Sepulcher is no exception. Even on a boat of twenty or so characters, all with their own pasts, roles, distinct narrative importance, etc., Yorick stands out to me and has since the very beginning. I love that guy. (Followed closely by Clement Murphy, John Langley, and Robert Harding in terms of “fun to write”.)

Hello, i know hwei is one of your favorite characters, but you can tell me more of your favorites characters from LoL universe( LoL, wild rift, LoR etc) and other games ?

I'm a simple creature and basically anyone with biceps. Hwei was a rare exception because he's so baby girl. Yorick will always be my first love. I really just have a weak spot for tragic characters.

Same goes toward the other games I play like HSR (Aventurine & Blade, save me. Save me Aventurine & Blade) and Zenless Zone Zero.

They are all characters I really enjoy writing and exploring. Also their artists tend to go the hardest and I appreciate that so much.

this is a bit of an odd and specific question, but were the outfits you chose to wear in your TJLC and A Better Story videos deliberate? i know some were ( the pink shirt for valentines, a jumper akin to John's in his Bisexual video, the heart-dagger necklace in ABS Part 7, etc ), but i'm wondering if it was only for certain videos or all of them? if so, how did you choose if the theme of the video didn't exactly correlate to an outfit?

Hello! I love this kind of question because I get to unambiguously state: yes they were almost all a deliberate tie-in to something (even if the tie-in was out of frame in the actual video). A lot of them were just working with what I had, so a grey/silver dress to go with "mirrors," a purple hoodie to evoke the League of Furies in TAB, a Muse t-shirt for the soundtrack video, a jumpsuit that kind of looked like the wallpaper in tsot, sometimes I didn't have a t-shirt that worked so I just wore my "key to 221b" necklace that kind of thing. It's been years on that one so I don't remember a lot of the specific thought processes, but I can give you that for A Better Story:

Part One: my favorite outfit for comfort reasons (I was very scared about making more videos) and also because I hope it would make me look more "serious academic" than I presented myself back in the day

Part Two: John lookalike outfit, also I was trying to alternate between hair up and hair down for some variety

Part Three: John lookalike military jacket for THOB

Part Four: partially a Sherlock lookalike outfit, mostly another reference to The League of Furies

Part Five: blue and grey for Yorick the skull, and also to tie in to all the water (also I matched the Big Bopper, kinda)

Part Six (I will get this back up someday): Vampire slayer outfit, aka me kind of poking fun at myself for projecting all over Van Helsing

Part Seven: A bit more obscure, but I wore this waffley sweater for the first episode of TJLC Explained, that I then wore again for Episode 48. That was one of the first shirts I purged from my closet so I don't still have it, but I did have a similar pink one! (And the transition to pink from white is kind of a maturity thing? I mean I would have worn it anyway without the color symbolism but that also helped agkshagkjhsd)

Enjoy a little sneak peak of chapter 20 of SOTF

“Uncle Aemooooooon!” Satisfied with her family having come out to join her in the fresh air, Rhea interrupted Lord Desmond’s greeting of everyone to run across the courtyard at a full tilt while she waved the crumpled piece of paper gripped in her fist high above her head. Her words warbled as she ran, the bounce of her steps keeping her voice from going even as she dragged Aemon’s name out. He crouched down to her level, and Rhea slammed into his chest to nuzzle into him. She’d gotten so big while he’d been at New Castle, and she probably did not remember him, but she loved Aemon just as much as she had before he’d left. He wrapped his arms low around her so she'd be stable, and stood up with her securely in his arms. She giggled and squealed as she hugged him, and once she was fully in the air she studied him with wide, mismatched eyes. If Aemon did not love her so much, being held by her black and pale purple stare would be unsettling. “I knew my favorite uncle would have papa’s eyes!” Something stirred in Aemon’s chest, tiny and fragile, but good. It was warm, but lighter than how Medrick made him feel. He was happy in a way he couldn’t place. Yorick’s eyes, not His. That being all his niece and nephews knew was comfortable, it was right. As right as anything could be. “I won’t tell Robert or Borros that I am your favorite.” He replied with a laugh. “They already know!” Aemon laughed harder now, his eyes squeezing shut as his head tilted forward slightly. Rhea’s warm little hand came to rest on his cheek as she yelled “open.” When he finally did as she wanted, Yorick was before him. His elder brother looked different and the same all at once; his beard was fuller and his hair dipped past his shoulders, he looked properly like a lord with children, but he still had the same streak of brown running through the right side of his hair and his nose was still crooked and even under all the time that had passed he still looked like Yorick.
