Whenever someone tries to make a point about something the Konoha kunoichis, I need to make a pause and remind them how out of character they were in some of those moments.

Kishimoto pretty much abandoned Sakura and Ino's friendship and then tried to bring it back during the War arc. Ino lost her sensei and then her dad, and when was Sakura? You mean to tell me she wouldn't care? About any of it? Or when Sasuke was declared to be killed, do you mean to tell me that Ino wouldn't have run to find Sakura?

The way Hinata was written on Shippuden???? Naruto aside, people forget that Hinata refused to give up during the Chunning Exams and forced Neji to almost kill her if he wanted the victory. She was stubborn, she was prideful too, she had more going on than simply a crush on Naruto. She was told by her father she was a failure and yet she didn't give up on becoming a kunoichi, did she?

Then why is that Shippuden wrote her like her sole ambition was Naruto, hm?

And Tenten? She was MEAN when she wanted to be because she was highly competitive. We know that she wanted to train under Tsunade, so where did the death of that dream take her? She's such a powerful kunoichi and yet we know so little about her personality, her life...

We got "Ino and Hinata know some medic min techniques" in the most random way possible... We know Sakura would walk around with Hinata even, so what about their girl bonding moments during the genin to Shippuden years?

It made me so angry whenever the girls treated each other like strangers in Shippuden. So many stupid situations made to highly their teammates even if I meant to write the girls out of character...

Funny how people will be so weird about fma 03's Scar design, citing him being younger/'bishie' compared to the manga and Brotherhood versions as a negative against the first anime adaptation because, let's be real here, a lot of people see this design decision as "feminizing", making him weaker or more palatable at the expense of the role he's meant to play.

Meanwhile 03 Scar, unlike the manga and Broho counterparts, not only is more staunchly anti-military and consistently uses violence and strategies against the system throughout his entire arc, he straight up has a kill count so massive it would make manga + Broho Scars blush (and manga + Broho Elrics have a full existential crisis).

My man never once becomes an Amestrian reformist, never once celebrates the militia (he would have laughed Miles right out of the room if he tried to guilt him for not licking military boots for a scrap of acceptance; in canon he fully declares he has zero pity for soldiers PERIOD) and goes down killing well over 7000+ soldiers and state alchemists in his entire run.

Need I remind everyone that he draws a city-spanning alchemic rune, by himself, with a boulder and a chain to drag it? And lures in the Amestrian invaders by dropping Kimbly's freshly murdered carcass (his doing of course) that he carried with his teeth to the top of a building, while armless and bleeding out? Drawing them further in while dodging gunfire on foot. Iconic. Awe-inspiring. Pure 100% platinum-grade badass.

03 Scar never loses sleep about killing the pigs of a fascist nation, never cedes any ideological or material ground to them, and he could never be shamed out of actively fighting back. Unfortunately we can't say the same for the defanged mangahood Scars. Because despite their more overtly gruff and 'tough' character designs, they're so thoroughly cowed by a small mob of Amestrians who use basic shaming tactics to stop them dead in their tracks and join their side, never to kill another jackbooted hog.

Jonathan looked at his brother. "That's because you already are named after someone. You're named after Ziggy Stardust," he said, ruffling Will's hair, making it a mess. "You're named after one of the most flamboyant idols of rock these days. You should be proud."

"But Ziggy is just the nickname you gave me," Will said.

"So? Ziggy is the name that you can own if you really wanted to." Jonathan pulled his brother in for a hug. "C'mon Ziggy, you can make history with your own name."

Will smiled.

"Or you can base your future off of Bowie's character. Either way, you have a bit of a glam rocker in you," Jonathan finished.

There was a moment of silence as Will thought.

"I am named after Bowie's character," he said proudly, "and I take inspiration from Ziggy all the time, but I would also like to write my own story."

"Cool cool," Jonathan said, going back to the tapes that were in front of him. "So... Ziggy still?"

"Of course," Will said with a grin, starting to continue his drawing.

i’m so sick of these genshin fans saying that natlan feels ‘out of place’ in genshin. when we have the literal ancient god of china wearing a modern western suit. there isnt a single liyue character wearing traditional chinese clothing. you can have your criticisms about how natlan characters don’t feel culturally inspired, but this is not a problem unique to natlan. the divergence from traditional culture and traditional fantasy was there from day one.

and the way it’s being compared to fontaine and mondstadt, which are frequently referred to as ‘the real genshin regions’ because they fit their ideas of fantasy. they fit specific genres of fantasy, namely medieval fantasy and steampunk. i hope i don’t have to spell out why it’s problematic that they only think of the two europe-inspired regions in genshin as the ‘real ones’. or, that all other regions are not as cozy/homely as criticism for the non-europe regions, without any forethought that they might simply be accustomed to western culture and fantasy.

all this while genshin verges on sci-fi with the intergalactic stuff and the whole ‘we are living in a simulation’ thing teyvat has going on. like it’s definitely not ur normal fantasy rpg.
