“Taehyung would you stop eating everything? I need this for the shop!” Sohyun says. Taehyung and her were both in the kitchen of the bakery. 

“I’m stress eating,” he says, mouth full of cake. “And you act like I’m eating the actual cake! These are the scraps, you don’t use these!”

“Is everything okay?” Yoongi asks, peeking through the door. 

“Switch with Tae,” Sohyun says, Taehyung gives her a side eye. “He’s eating everything and I can’t get this done,” she says, pushing Taehyung towards Yoongi. 

“I’m not even eating everything!” He claims. Yoongi laughs.

“Taehyung you have frosting on your cheek and crumbs on the corner of your lips,” he says, handing him a napkin. Taehyung takes it, wiping his mouth whilst rolling his eyes as he walks past Yoongi to go to the register. 

There were already people in line so he had to compose himself. 

“Hi, did you find everything okay?” Taehyung says with a monotoned voice and zero facial expressions, not even looking at the customer standing in front of him, already punching in the numbers.

“Think so,” the man says. Taehyung knew the voice and he looks up to see Youngdo standing in front of him. He sighs.

“You like lemon scones?” Taehyung says, trying to start a conversation. Still expressionless, his voice sounding uninterested. Youngdo would be the last person he wanted to talk to. 

“I don’t mind it, I’m buying this for my family,” he says with a little smile. Taehyung stops punching in the numbers and looks at the assortment of snacks that Youngdo picked out.

“Well.. first of all,” Taehyung points out, widening his eyes in annoyance. “Youngjae’s favorites are not even in here…” Youngdo frowns at him when he says this. “Youngjae loves cupcakes, specifically the ones I make, but Sohyun’s cupcakes are his second favorite. Cake pops too, especially the character ones. Also, Yn hates lemon scones. She likes the lemon pound cake though. Do you want me to add those in and take this out?” He says, looking up at the man. Youngdo clearly looks annoyed. He scoffs, looking back at Taehyung and nodding.

“Sure.”

“Okay. Well let me just get that for you,” Taehyung says, faking a smile, walking to the displays to grab the pastries. The two were really quiet, awkward mostly. 

Taehyung brings them back up to the counter and rings them up. 

Youngdo sighs as Taehyung is scanning the items.

“I’m guessing Yn made the right choice,” Youngdo says quietly.

“Yeah, Sohyun’s lemon pound cake is pretty good.”

Youngdo chuckles, “I wasn’t talking about the cake.”

Taehyung stayed silent. It seemed like the tables turned and he was the one who didn’t like Youngdo instead of the other way around.

“Have you talked to Yn… by the way?” Youngdo brings up suddenly. 

“No, she doesn’t have to. I know though, no worries,” he replies, handing Youngdo his items. “Have a nice day.”

You quickly drive up to the bakery, the sooner you could talk to Taehyung the better. Although you were a little nervous. Considering what was happening now, you don’t know how he’s going to react.

You walked up to the bakery’s transparent doors, seeing Taehyung standing behind the counter. Sohyun was right, he did look sad. 

You pushed the door open, smiling at him when you make eye contact. Although he looks away.

“Tae, I know you’re...” you look around to see the place nearly empty. One or two people sitting down at the tables. “busy.. But can we talk?” He replies with a sigh, walking out of the counter when his phone began to ring. 

He stops midway, taking out his phone and answering. 

“Hello?” He says. You stand there patiently waiting for him to put the phone down. “Yes-- Really?-- Right now?-- Okay -- It’s no problem-- I’ll be there-- Yes-- thank you so much--” He puts his phone down, turning around to run back into the counter and towards the kitchen. You stand there confused, faintly hearing him talk to Sohyun and Yoongi in the back. 

You stood there for a bit before pulling out a chair to sit in. 

“Oh--” You stand back up when he comes out, although, he completely walks past you and out of the bakery. You furrow your brows, watching him leave. 

“Oh-- Yn,” Yoongi says when he walks to the register.

“Umm... I came to talk to Tae.. what happened?” You ask, looking back at where Taehyung left. 

“He got a call from the exhibition thing. Someone didn’t meet the qualifications so there’s a spot open. They asked if he can come in for an interview right now because he’s going against another artist,” Yoongi explains. 

“Oh! Well that’s great!... do you happen to know where his interview is going to be at?” You ask, hoping to meet him there when he’s done.

“Not sure, I’ll text him and then I’ll let you know,” he says, taking out his phone.

“Thanks Yoongi..”

“It’s no problem, do you want anything to drink while you wait?”

☁︎︎ rooibos tea has a nutty taste to it and is naturally sweet even without sugar so it's super refreshing while butterfly pea tea as a more woody and earthy aroma to it

☁︎︎ something she can drink fast and since she also doesn't enjoy sweet stuff I feel like this makes the most sense

☁︎︎ mmm this 1 was hard but I think she would get a mocha

☁︎︎ the first time she actually goes in a coffee shop (yae brought her), she doesn't even know what coffee is because of how long she meditated in the Plane of Euthymia

☁︎︎ was so mesmerised by everything they sold and had in the coffee shop. from the coffee machine to the pastry selection to just watching people chatting and conversing around her.

A/N: First of all, Seokjin’s the nation’s best boy, and he deserves all the love. Secondly, I forgot the word ‘reciprocate’ and literally had to search it. Yes, uni has left me with a single brain cell. Also, requested by @inhalebts​ (i may have changed a few things, im sorry)

Looking around tiredly, you almost screamed when the person in front you kept staring blankly at the menu. They were here every day, they looked at the menu every day, and they ordered the same thing every day. Even if they decided to order something different – for the first time in months – there were only five or six items on the drinks menu; what could possibly be so hard about making a decision?

 The teller behind the counter looked how you felt – the mixture of amusement and barely concealed irritation quite evident on his delicate features. His eyes closed as he took a deep breath, steeling his nerves. Your eyes trailed over his white button up, the thin fabric doing little to nothing to conceal his broad shoulders, before the glossy name tag caught your attention.

 Seokjin. Although you were familiar with him handling your cash to pay for your coffee, or even making the coffee himself, you were too shy to squeak out anything more than your order and a small ‘thank you’.

 “Uh…”

 “How about a Café Mocha?” Seokjin suggested to the customer in front him, knowing that’s what the customer ordered every time he set foot into the tiny coffee shop. You tried to hide your laugh, suddenly seeing the situation in a funny light.

 Hearing your light giggles, Seokjin’s mouth curved into a small smile against his will. It was just too cute to not reciprocate. When the customer in front of him nodded at his suggestion, he quickly punched the order in, before calling you up to the cash register.

 “You know, it’s rude to laugh at someone.” He teasingly said, typing in your order without you having to say it. His words stunned you for a minute, because although you harboured a slight crush on him and he was very polite, he hardly spoke to you.

 Quickly snapping out of your trance, you smiled softly. “Almost as rude as rushing a customer.”

 Chuckling, he lazily brought his eyes to your own. “I’m sure you even know their order by now. You’re somehow always behind them.”

 Tilting your head to the side, you narrowed your eyes at him. “I was talking about me. Do you want me out of your sight that much?”

 His eyes widened fractionally before he spluttered out a response. “I – wait, of course not! I just know your order well. Mondays are really bad for you, right? That’s why you order an Iced Americano. And Thursdays are more laidback, so you get a Café Latte. But on Fridays…” Seokjin abruptly stopped and cleared his throat, standing up straight, seemingly trying to gain his composure. “Anyway, I’d never willingly let you out my sight.”

 “Maybe you should’ve thought about that before putting in my order so fast.” You teased, accepting your drink with thanks to the barista. Before you could fully walk out the shop, you turned back and winked at him, stunning him. “Bye, Seokjin.”

 ***

 Throughout the next few weeks, he became more and more enamoured with your presence. Seokjin found himself walking to work with a bounce in his step, happily whistling as he opened shop for the day. The weekends were almost painful, not seeing you for two whole days, but he quickly caught himself: it had barely been a few days before he found out your name, and where you worked. He couldn’t allow himself to fall for you so hard yet.

 Smiling to himself as he refilled the sugar packets at the table’s canisters, he remembered how he found out your name.

 “Why are you always so grumpy on Mondays?” He teased, seeing your furrowed eyebrows. “Come on, you have such a pretty face, don’t do that to it.”

 “You said it yourself, Mondays are really bad for me at the lab.” You grumbled, crossing your arms while you pouted. He found this extremely adorable; even more adorable than Jungkook, his younger roommate, who closely resembled a bunny. “All the blood samples end up heaping over the weekend, and it just ends up being a lot of work.”

 “You work at the lab down the road?” He asked interestedly, to which you nodded. “Well, this should make it better, beautiful.” He winked, passing you your drink.

 Smiling slightly at his antics, you found yourself almost giggling. “Thank you, Seokjin.”

 “You’re welcome, uh…” He paused, catching himself. With his ears suddenly turning red, he nervously scratched his neck. “Why don’t I know your name?”

 All but laughing at his actions, you rolled your eyes. “It’s Y/N.”

 “I hope you have an at least manageable day at work, Y/N.” He softly said, giving you a reassuring smile.

 As Monday droned on, Seokjin grew more and more worried at your absence. In the three years that he had worked here, you had never not had coffee. Especially on a Monday.

 Anxiously gnawing on his lip, his eyes flickered to the clock that faced him, and saw it was already noon. In other words, it was way passed your coffee time. Silently berating himself for not asking for your number, he carefully poured some coffee into a cup, adding the amount of sugar and creamer that you would usually, before pouring one for himself. As he placed the two cups in the holder, he spontaneously grabbed a couple pastries, carefully placing them in the paper bag before setting off to find you.

 After the quick five-minute walk, he found himself standing awkwardly outside the lab, not really knowing what to do with himself. He berated himself for thinking he could just waltz into the place and was about to turn back when he heard your voice.

 “Seokjin?” You called confused as you walked out the glass doors of the building. “What are you doing here?”

 “I, uh…” He breathed out nervously as you walked up to him. You looked so tired, yet beautiful as ever. Best of all, you actually looked happy to see him. “You didn’t come get your coffee today. I thought I’d bring you some. I mean, it’s Monday, right?”

 With your heart fluttering in your chest, you felt a light blush dust your cheeks. “Yeah, I woke up really late today. I didn’t have time to stop at the shop today.” You confessed, just now realizing that there were two coffee cups in the holder he was carrying. This made you smile even further, yet still, you needed to confirm that it was for both of you. “Are you going to join me?”

 “If that’s okay with you.” He said, quietly, a smile slowly forming on his own face. Nodding, you began walking with him to the park that was opposite the road, slowly sipping on the coffee and nibbling on the pastries.

 “So, you missed me this morning?” You teased, nudging him with your elbow gently. He scoffed, but you didn’t miss the nervousness exuding from him.

 “Now why would you think that?” He asked, crossing his arms over his chest, putting on a front that he was upset.

 “You brought me coffee.” You stated, laughing gently.

 “Exactly!” He exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air as he took on a different approach. “You shouldn’t tease me when I brought you coffee.”

 “Oh, how will I ever repay you?” You asked sarcastically, rolling your eyes, to which he chuckled. After a beat or two, he replied.

 “I don’t know… Maybe a date?” Seokjin suggested, quietly. “A date where neither of us are in uniform, and I can talk to you without having a counter between us?”

 Trying to tone down your grin, not wanting to know just how ecstatic you were about the premise of a date, you grabbed a pen from your lab coat pocket. Taking the unused napkins from the pastry bag, you quickly wrote your number on it, before handing it to him.

 “You better text me, Seokjin.” You threatened playfully, causing him to chuckle. “And don’t be late.”
