imagine, you're sitting in your living room alone. its been six days since you last saw someone without the infection. you remember your infant daughter, crawling across the hall gagging, choking as she spits out formula and blood, but slowly dragging her small body towards you. your wife's gurgling as you back up to the wall. your neighbor's eyes, full of bloodlust.
you take another hit from your cigarette, and get up from the armchair. the door creaks silently as if the guilt was seeping in it too. the street is littered with corpses, you don't even swat an eye. your destination was clear, the small army surplus store on the other street.
you always had regrets about moving to louisville, you worried you couldn't get sleep from all the noise of traffic and bustling city life. none of those worries now. the silence was killing you and you couldn't even try to fill it with your own. whistling, tapping, singing, by god anything. you knew they would hear. you couldn't afford getting hit.
you see a massive sign of a radio station next to the road. no one's inside, but they keep broadcasting from outside the exclusion zone. those fortunate enough not to have been here when hell itself erupted.
only this alleyway now. a few stragglers, strangers without faces to you. (atleast you try to imagine it like that.)
you swiften your pace, only a few steps. you could see the beatiful white paint of the store. all evils inside will only assist your hands in commiting sins. you hope god could forgive you in heaven. you wish you were there right now, luxuriously soft clouds beyond the pearly gates, the soft warm touch of the lord.
and as if god himself heard all your wishes, your wants, your needs, an unbearably loud industrial grinding ruptures your ears. you dare not look up at god himself. it hovers above you curiously, like a newborn, weeping oh so loudly.
anita. you taste the name on your tounge. your firstborn child. you grasp at your locket with her photo inside. you take a seat on the cold, hard asphalt. does not matter how comfortable it is now. hundreds if not thousands come pouring in through both sides of the alley. they wail on you, like fresh meat right from the slaughterhouse. your screams are drowned out by the mechanical chopping above. your mouth boils with blood as innards slosh out at the tearing of your seams right into the mouth of those begging for it. you grip onto the locket until your knuckles turn white.
TONIGHT ON WLBN NEWS: VIRGIN cunt with KIND OF BAD haircut and FUCKING MUTTON CHOPS in the year of our lord 1993 GETS GANGBANGED by ZOMBIES in KNOX fucking CUNTYYYY 👀👀👀👀🫣🫣🫣🫣👀👀👀

Pt.1 Part 3
Tumblr media
You plopped into the seat beside Grace and smiled as the Samson lifted into the air. You always loved flying, and after you found out the Na'vi travel on ikrans, or what humans call banshees, you were sold. You wanted to fly on one someday, at least ride on one. You love the animals so much that you got one tattooed on your upper back. The wings spanned from shoulder to shoulder and it went to about halfway down your back. Sadly it wasn't on your avatar, but you were happy to have it on your human body. You watched Jake and Norm take in the scenery with awe, and you couldn't help but smile and nudge Grace. She looked at her two new avatars and chuckled.
"The newbies are always in awe aren't they?" She asked you and you chuckled.
"Oh yeah. I mean I was too. If I could see it all again for the first time... I'd fall in love all over again." You told her and she sent a small smile your way. When the Samson landed Wainfleet and Jake were the first off the bird with you right behind Jake. Grace went over and told Trudy to shut down the engines since we'd be here a while. She stopped Wainfleet from following us by putting a hand on his shoulder.
"You stay here. I already have one idiot with a gun." Grace tells him and he backs up to the chopper.
"Hey (Y/n) has a gun too." Jake whines.
"The fact that you know that was about you speaks volumes, Jake." You laugh as you pass by him. He grumbles to himself for a moment and then follows you into the tree line. The four of you made it to her old school and you sadly picked up the books that had fallen off of the shelf.
"What the hell happened here?" Jake asked as he observed the bullet holes in the walls and cabinets. You picked up your gun and made to walk out of the building.
"I... I think I heard something outside. I'm gonna go check it out." You call out to Grace and walk out of the door. You sat on the railing and looked out over the trees. To think of such a beautiful and serene place had once been the scene of a horrific event. When Grace told you about it caused a rift between you and your dad. The fact that he was so willing to kill children was a mystery you'd never solve. You shook yourself from your thoughts when the door opened and Grace walked out.
"Would you mind carrying this?" She asked as she held out a hand-held scanner. You nodded and slipped it into the side pocket of your bag. "You okay?" She asked once she caught sight of your face.
"Oh yeah. Just fine." You told her and she gave you a sad smile.
"I understand kid. I understand." She said and patted your head as the two of you led the newbies into the jungle. A group of prolemuris passed by and it caused Jake to aim at them.
"Jake if they aren't charging you, or growling at you there's no need to threaten their lives." You tell him but he keeps his gun up. Grace rolls her eyes and steps up to Jake.
"They're prolemuris, not hostile." She grabbed the barrel of his gun and shoved it down. "Calm down marine, you're making me nervous." We continued walking for a little while and finally stopped in a small clearing. Grace and Norm immediately started testing the tree roots and taking samples. You turned when you heard footsteps, and found Jake walking away.
"Would you mind keeping an eye on him?" Grace asks and you nod.
"Yes, ma'am. Y'all need anything let me know." You say and catch up to Jake. Once you catch up to him you stay about two steps behind him.
"They're called helicoradian. They shrink when you touch them." You tell him and he immediately touches one. It shrinks and he laughs and touches another one, and the cycle continues until he hits one and all of them shrink. The angry roar of a titanothere hammerhead reverberated through the trees. You slowly turned around and found the source.
"Oh shit." You hear Jake curse under his breath.
"Do not run Jake. These animals are very territorial and adhere to a social hierarchy." You whisper back to him. "Do not shoot at it because its armor is too thick to penetrate, and it'll just piss him off more."
"Don't shoot!" Grace whispers into her neck com and you nod.
"I've already told him." You tell her and she nods.
"How uh how do we get out of this situation?" Jake asks Grace. The titanothere roars again and bashes the sides of his hammer on nearby trees.
"That's a territorial threat display. You run, he'll charge." Grace tells Jake.
"So what do we do dance with it?" He asks her.
"Just stand your ground." Grace says. The titanothere charged and Jake ran to meet it halfway yelling loudly the whole way. You heard muted shuffling behind you and you were immediately back on high alert. Jake was making a spectacle of him intimidating the creature while your ears were flicked back trying to hear what was approaching. You winced when you heard the feral growl of a thanator. Jake turned around to see what made the noise and quickly raised his gun at it.
"What about this one? Run, don't run..." Jake asks and you respond for Grace.
"Fuckin run jarhead!" You grab his arm and race through the brush away from Grace and Norm. The two of you duck into the roots of a tree to try and ward it off, but it just tried harder. You groaned and push Jake out of the cubby hole. The two of you picked up your pace to escape but he was yanked out of your grasp. You look up to find him being tossed around like a caesar salad. "Fuck the backpack Jake, drop that shit!" He unbuckles it and gets flung onto the ground. You haul his ass up and the two of you run over to a cliff with a waterfall. You both scream as you jump into the water down below. When you both crawl onto the riverbank you laugh as you stare at your surroundings.
"Holy shit." Jake says.
"We're alive!" You say excitedly and stand up and he follows you. "Now all we gotta do is survive until we're saved!" You say sarcastically. You both continue traveling into the depths of the jungle covering each other's backs. Once eclipse started to fall you climbed into a tree and sat there.
"Are you gonna come down here and help me start a fire?" Jake asked and you shook your head.
"We do that we're basically signing ourselves up for death. The Na'vi evolved to survive in the bioluminescent forest." You tell him but he doesn't listen. "Alright have fun dyin'." You say as you lean back to be hidden in the tree well. At some point, you started to feel comfortable and started to feel tired. However, your near-sleep experience was interrupted when Jake started to struggle with viper wolves. You groaned and jumped down with your gun. You didn't want to kill them, just scare them. You started to swing your gun around to get the animals to run off, and it was working. Then a figure jumped out into the clearing and started to help get rid of the wolves. Once they were cleared she threw Jake's torch into the nearby pond. When the woman turned to you, you brought your hand to your forehead.
"Oel ngati kameie." You spoke and she stared at you for a moment.
"Oel ngati kameie, tawtute." She spoke and you deflated. Sky person. Sky demon. Whichever she meant it was never nice.
"Thank you for helping me protect my noisy friend." You spoke quietly and she seemed impressed.
"Yeah, uh thanks for killin' those things." Jake says and you smack the back of his head.
"Don't. You do not thank for this. This is sad. They did not need to die." The woman said and a tear escaped your eye.
"I'm sorry if I killed one of them. That wasn't my intention." You said and she shook her head.
"Him. His weapon has blood on it." She said and got up in Jake's face. "You are like a baby, don't know what to do." She says and Jake seems upset.
"What about her? She was there too?" Jake says and the woman rolls her eyes.
"She was in the trees being silent. Didn't know she was there until she jumped down to defend you." The woman spoke honestly and then turned to walk away. Jake followed behind her and you shook your head as you followed.
"Jake we have to go back. We aren't allowed on Omatikaya land." You warned him and he shook your hand off his wrist.
"Hey wait. Where are you going?" Jake said trying to keep up with her and you sighed in frustration.
"You must go back." She said and you tried to yank Jake back but he fought your grip again. "You do not belong here." She made a motion with her hand for you to vanish. You had planned on abiding by her wishes but Jake being Jake thought he was an exception.
"Why can we go with you?" Jake asked her.
"Because sky people cannot See." She says and you cocked your head at that.
"Then teach us to See." Jake countered and she scoffed.
"You cannot be taught to See." She tells him and he finally catches her elbow only for her to retort by hitting him with her bow.
"Grabbing a woman's elbow doesn't even go down well on Earth, Sully. I don't know why you'd think it was a better outcome here." You said with an eye roll and crossed arms. The woman now stood still observing you and you started to observe her. She lunged forward when you went to uncross your arms and she grabbed one of your hands.
"Three fingers, and a thumb." She whispers and you chuckle.
"Yeah, it's a genetic defect of mine. It uh has always set me apart from others." You said quietly and squirmed in her grasp. Jake clambered to his feet. "Though it's only one of my hands on my human body, so I'm unsure why it's extended to both hands and feet in this body."
"Okay aside from her freaky birth defect. If you love your forest friends so much, why not let them kill our asses?" Jake asks her.
"Why save you?" She asks as she looks between the two of you. "Because you have a strong heart, but you're stupid. Ignorant like a child." She moves to leave and it was then that you could finally make out her facial features to know who she was.
"My apologies, tsakarem. I could not recognize you." You spoke quickly and she smiled lightly, but it fell from her features as she looked up. Atokorina floated down toward the three of you. You were scared to move because you didn't want to scare them away. Jake, however, swatted a couple away from him. They covered both of you up as much as they could before they floated off on their journey. You turned and watched them.
"What were those things?" Jake asks Neytiri.
"Atokorina." You answer him and Neytiri looks at you surprised.
"They are seeds of the holy tree. Very sacred spirits." She says and you smile lightly. She steps forward and grabs one of your wrists and one of Jake's. "Come." She leads the two of you for a moment before Jake's legs were wrapped up and he started to fall off the log taking you with him. The moment you got the rope off his feet he was up and swiveling trying to find a way out, but you remained crouched low. You left your weapons in their places. The position you were in showed you were not going to resist, but you weren't comfortable with being near them. The man you recognized as Tsu'tey the future Olo'eyktan. Neytiri irritatedly asked what we thought he was doing to which he replied he was going to kill us. Tsu'tey's eyes drifted over the two of us and his eyes land on your hands and feet. He yanks you into a standing position. He holds your tswin in his left hand while he looks over the hand he holds.
"Bring them." He says and one of the hunters takes over holding your tswin but holds a knife under it. Everyone breaks into a sprint to get to Hometree. As you walk in the entrance you look around the area, but ignore the looks of disgust and the hisses. You were so tired. You had been so ready for sleep for hours now that this just felt like torture. You didn't even realize that their Tsahík was talking to you until Jake answered for you.
"I'm sorry for my friend. She's exhausted. Her name is (Y/n) and she's also a part of the jarhead clan, but she's also a student." Jake tells them and they nod in approval. You get new clothes and go to dinner and when Neytiri shows you to your hammock you almost run and jump into it. You're so tired that it doesn't take long for you to fall asleep and wake up in your human body. Norm is holding you as he flashes a light over your eyes.
"Hey (Y/n). You okay?" Norm asks and you nod.
"Yeah. I'm great." You say happily and he looks at you in question. "You'll never guess where Jake and I are right now."
"Where?" Norm asks and you smirk.
"We're at Hometree with the Omatikaya. They want to learn about us and for us to learn their ways." You say excitedly and he smiles gently and you slowly get up. He smiles wide for a moment but then it falls and he frowns.
"Guess you'll be too busy to hangout with me around here." Norm says and you scoffed.
"I will still hang out with you as much as I can Norm." You reassure him and he nods. "Come on I need to eat so I can go to sleep. I'm a dead woman walking at the moment." You laugh and grab his hand to go grab dinner. The two of you grab some food and sit down and start eating.
"I've been meaning to ask you without sounding rude, but your left pinky moves odd. Why? Did you break it when you were younger?" Norm asks and you shake your head.
"It's a prosthetic pinky. I was only born with three fingers and a thumb on my left hand." You said as you twisted your left pinky and pulled it off. "Mom blames Dad because he's 'from the south' whatever that means. Dad blames Mom because she was still wild while she was pregnant with me. So there's no telling what she was exposed to. I blame Earth and its seemingly infinite pollution." Norm takes your left hand in his and smiles while he plays with your fingers. "I used to be made fun of in school for it until Dad sent money to grandma to have her get me a prosthetic." You tell Norm and he frowns.
"But this is what makes you unique... On Earth. Here it's a trait everyone has." Norm points out. "It's almost like you were meant to be here."
"I'm glad I am." You tell him and he blushes.
"Why is that?" He asks you.
"Because I got to meet you." You say and he laughs while looking down trying to hide his red cheeks. "See? Adorable." You whisper.
"I'm pretty sure that's you." He says. "You know I used to get made fun of in school too. Being the smart kid so many people saw me as an easy target." Norm says sadly and you frown.
"Fuck them." You say. "The girls that made fun of you are probably stuck in minimum-wage jobs with an unreliable husband and five kids. The boys? They're those husband's. I happen to have a thing for men with a brain." You say and he looks up at you.
"Really?" He asks and you nod. "Well, I have a PhD in anthropology." He brags and you laugh.
"Trust me Norm. I'm well aware." You say flirtatiously and finish off your food. "Alright I need to get some rack or I'm gonna pass out right here." You both get up and he escorts you back to your room.
"We should do this more often." Norm says and you smile.
"Only if you're cool eating dinner with my Dad. He and I usually eat dinner together." You tell him and he chuckles.
"Lunch then?" He asks and you nod.
"You're scared of my Dad aren't you?" You ask him.
"I'm scared of your Dad. He looks seriously tough." Norm says.
"He is, but underneath it all... He's a good man." You tell him. "Sleep well Norm. Goodnight." You open the door to your room and he nods.
"Goodnight (Y/n). Sleep well." Norm says and heads off to his room. You close your door and do your nighttime routine and go to sleep.

Rearranging the Scenes in ‘Never Let Me Go’ Episode 11
Rewatching ep 11 of nlmg felt weird because the pacing is a bit off (and many people have pointed this out across different social media hell-scapes). The content of the episode was perfect but the order of events felt a bit rushed and confusing. Therefore, I have rearranged it in a way which makes sense chronologically and logically (to me anyways). I still like the episode but it’s just not my favourite, and that’s okay. *DISCLAIMER* I am not a director or screenwriter and I do not have a degree in film (nor am I studying for one - I literally do international development and sociology), I am just doing this as an avid consumer of film and tv shows!
Part 1/4: I would have preferred if the first part was actually the end of part 2 instead. It would have been great if they showed them living together again; have them working together and sorting out hotel stuff, like when they went to the market. Just overall boyfriend vibes. The scene where Chopper texts Ben is okay but unnecessary. It would have driven the plot further if we got more interactions with his dad, so we see the point that lead to him pulling out the gun. I mean good on him but I feel like we should have seen his breaking point. And Perth is a good actor so it would have ate down.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They should have also had an in-depth conversation about their strategy of ‘fighting and dying together’ and not letting Kit manipulate them. In all honesty, the mere idea that Palm even considered killing Thanya is so out of character, literally the biggest plot hole EVER in the history of mankind! The fact that he even made it to her hospital room is beyond me. That scene should have never happened. PERIOD.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part 2/4: So Kit is triggered with them thriving and depending on each other, so he decides to confront Nueng about him canceling his business plans. This makes him even more triggered, thus leading to him kidnapping + threatening Palm. But Palm doesn’t take the bait at all! He pretends to but when confronted by Kit in the bathroom later on he shuts him down. So he decides to order his men to kill Nueng and his mum once and for all. It would have been nice to see him plotting this and have Chopper listening in (and maybe recording too for evidence).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part 3/4: This parts pacing was good for me. The only thing I would alter is Thanya waking up, Nueng updating her on his life while wiping her hand is perfect and sweet. However I was somewhat underwhelmed :( I think it would have been more emotional if she woke up in the finale after they defeated Kit. Like imagine they just got done with the evil that is uncle Supakit and that second they get a call from the hospital that she’s alive. Almost as if their lives exchanged, he had to die to let Thanya’s soul be free, because with him around she would never know peace. Dramatic yes, but dramatic in a good way!
Tumblr media
Part 4/4: This part was also nicely paced, but the only thing that bothers me is the lack of protection for Nueng. LIKE WHAT ARE THE BODYGUARDS FOR, WALKING DOWN STAIRS LOOKING ALL COOL?! There should have been a scene where Kit’s underlines fight off his bodyguards and maybe even Palm. Up the angst there, you know. So we see Palm panic and being so concerned, because he just saw Nueng get kidnapped and he couldn’t save him. So his confrontation with Chopper, that we saw in the preview, carries more weight.
The end. Roll the preview.
To me this is a more satisfying sequence of events and in my head this is the way the episode goes now.

Snowstorms
Fandom: Kingsman
Pairing: Merlin x Fem!Reader
Summary: After you and Eggsy go undercover at a party, you’re stuck walking, barely dressed, in the middle of a snowstorm. You are not happy.
Warnings: Slight cursing I guess, Reader’s pissed, frostbite
Tumblr media
*******
“I...am going to murder...all of you...” You shivered as you walked through the snow.
Harry sounded over the comms since Merlin was busy hacking into the system you and Eggsy had made available for him. “I apologize, Agent Guinevere. You and Agent Galahad could not stay at the political soirée because the risk of blowing your cover would’ve been too high. The helicopter will arrive in five minutes for extraction. Your best and only option is to keep walking away from the event.”
That’s how you ended up in a dress with a mini-skirt, trudging through a snowstorm in Northumberland. All you had for protection from the snow was a pair of snowshoes you stole off one of the guards you had killed. Eggsy was lucky enough to at least be wearing a suit.
Harry had not been lying. You timed it because you needed something to distract yourself from the cold. The chopper arrived in exactly five minutes. Something told you that might have had to do with Harry (slightly) threatening the pilot with things they would be subjected to if they didn’t make it on time.
“How are you doing, Y/n?” Eggsy hesitantly asked when the two of you had been in the air for a few moments.
Frankly, you couldn’t believe he had the balls to ask that. You were still shivering even under a thermal blanket in a closed helicopter. “You know what, Eggsy? I’m not doing great.”
“Ah.” Eggsy awkwardly nodded. He was quiet for the rest of the flight.
Back at the mansion, the Kingsman doctors discovered you had superficial frostbite. It wasn’t as bad as deep frostbite, but you would still have blisters for next week or two. The doctors recommended that you stayed on bedrest for the following couple days.
Later that night, after you fell asleep, you awoke to find Merlin sitting in a chair in your temporary room. He was reading from a file, so he didn’t immediately notice you were awake.
    “Hey,” you greeted him softly.
Merlin glanced up and saw you. He shut his file. “Hello, love,” he returned, Scottish accent thick as ever. “How are you feeling?”
“Better than before. I still ache a little...but I’m warm.” You smiled a little to show him that you were truly okay.
He seemed stressed. He took his glasses off and pinched the bridge of his nose. “I apologize you were in the snow for that long. It wasn’t the plan. There was somehow a miscommunication with the pilot, and I wasn’t able to fix it--”
“Don’t go blaming this on yourself,” you chastized lightly.
It was like he didn’t hear you. “It was an easily preventable problem, and if only I--”
“If only you what?” you cut him off. “If only you could be in two places at once? You were busy hacking the Godiva system, Hamish. I understand that. And look at me. I’m fine.”
He didn’t respond. He always didn’t know what to say when you used his real name. He wasn’t used to being as intimate with someone as he was with you.
“Did you get the codes?” You asked him a question about work to make him more comfortable.
He cleared his throat. “Yes. They’ve been sent to the proper authorities. You-You don’t need to worry about that.”
You were the only person who could make Merlin stutter while he was sober.
“Come here,” you urged him after a moment of silence.
Merlin didn’t get up. He got uneasy, and looked at the door to check if anyone was nearby.
“It’s what? Midnight? Darling, no one’s gonna come this way. Come here.”
He took a breath, and came to sit on the side of your bed.
You took his hand in yours. “Missed you while I was gone. I always miss you.”
He softly agreed, “I missed you too, sweetheart. I...I was so worried when I heard you were out in the snow like that.”
“But I made it back. I’ll always come back to you, remember?” You smirked, “I have to, or else Harry’ll steal you from me.”
That got him to crack a smile, “Oh. So, you’re making jokes now?”
“Anything to see that smile of yours,” you teased.
    “Is that right?”
You nodded smugly before returning the kiss he leaned down to give you.
You’d walk through a thousand snowstorms if it meant you could be with Merlin forever.

The next morning, the rest of Sam and Steve's plan comes together on the sixth level of a parking garage at the Leipzig/Halle airport. Steve pulls the car into a spot next to a grey van and gets out to greet Clint and Wanda.
"Cap," Clint says, shaking Steve's hand.
"You know I wouldn't have called if I had any other choice," Steve tells him.
"Hey man, you're doing me a favor," Clint says. "Besides, I owe a debt."
Steve looks at Wanda. "Thanks for having my back."
"It was time to get off my ass," she replies.
Kate, standing by Bucky next to the Volkswagen, nods her hello to Wanda and Clint.
"How about our other recruit?" Steve asks Clint.
"He's raring to go." Clint walks over to the van and opens the sliding back door. "Had to put a little coffee in him, but...he should be good."
The man lying across the backseat jolts up at the sound of the van door. "What time zone is this?" he asks.
"Come on. Come on," Clint says, pushing him forward.
The man shakes Steve's hand. "Captain America."
"Mr. Lang," Steve says.
"It's an honor. I'm shaking your hand too long," Scott Lang says, dropping Steve's hand. "Wow! This is awesome! Captain America." He turns to look at Wanda. "I know you, too. You're great!" When he looks back at Steve, Scott can't stop himself from feeling his broad shoulders. "Jeez," he says.
Steve looks over his shoulder at Bucky and Kate, and Kate raises her eyebrows at him in a silent question of "Who is this guy?"
"Ah, look," Scott continues, "I want to say, I know you know a lot of super people, so...thinks for thanking of me." He mixes up the words in his excitement, then turns to Sam, "Hey, man!"
"What's up, Tic Tac?" Sam greets.
"Uh, good to see you. Look, what happened last time when I..." Scott trails off.
"It was a great audition," Sam says, shaking his head, "but it'll...it'll never happen again."
"They tell you what we're up against?" Steve asks.
"Something about some...psycho-assassins?" Scott answers.
"We're outside the law on this one," Steve tells him. "So, if you come with us, you're a wanted man."
"Yeah, well, what else is new?" Scott says, shrugging.
"We should get moving," Bucky speaks up.
"We've got a chopper lined up," Clint tells Steve before a man's voice comes over the public announcement system in German.
"They're evacuating the airport," Bucky says.
"Stark," Sam says.
"Stark?" Lang questions.
Bucky looks at Kate. "You're not coming."
"Two things," she says, holding up two fingers. "First, I work for and own shares in a former weapons manufacturer started by my father. Second, I came to a foreign country as a single woman, alone, to find the Winter Soldier. Do you really think I came unprepared?"
She enters a code into the smart watch on her wrist and it transforms into a smaller version of Tony's Iron Man gauntlet, wrapping around her wrist and hand, leaving her fingers free.
"It's a repulsor," she says, pointing it at Sam.
"Nuh-uh, no," he says, holding up a finger.
"Plus, I know some self-defense," she says. "Romanoff trained me."
"So, she could probably kill us all," Clint says, smirking. Scott looks momentarily worried, and Kate winks at him.
Wanda hands Kate a duffel bag. "Thought you might want this," she says. Inside Kate finds a Stark Industries-designed tactical suit and a laptop.
"Thanks, love," Kate tells Wanda.
When she turns back to Bucky, he's staring at her. "What?" she asks.
"Nothing," he says, shaking his head, but his smile is wider than she's seen it in a while.

While the rest of the team spreads out across the airport, Kate hangs back in a terminal, trying to hack into Tony's Iron Man suit. It's a long shot, but she wrote some of the code for FRIDAY so she thinks she might be able to shut down a few functions.
"Sir, Miss Stark is attempting take us offline," FRIDAY informs Tony.
"Shut her out," Tony says. "And remind me to ground her when this is over."
In the terminal, Kate's screen flashes the message "Nice try, sis" before going black. She slams the laptop closed.
"Fuck," she exclaims.
"We found it," Sam comes in over the comms. "Their Quinjet's in hangar five, north runway."
"I'm closest," Kate says.
"You know how to fly that thing, doll?" Bucky asks.
She smirks even though he can't see her. "There's a lot you don't know about me, Sergeant Barnes," she says, her voice heavy with innuendo.
Sam groans, "Please stop."
_____
With what's left of the Avenger's distracted by Steve's team, Kate is able to make her way to hangar five without any incident. She ascends the Quinjet's ramp and preps for flight.
"I'm in," she says over the comms.
"We're almost to you," Steve tells her.
From outside the Quinjet, Kate hears Natasha shout, "Get out of the jet, Katie."
She stands at the top of the ramp, not descending. "You know I can't do that, Nat," she says, shaking her head.
"Is he really worth all of this?" Nat asks.
Kate doesn't hesitate before answering. "Yes."
Near the entrance of the hangar, a control tower collapses. Steve and Bucky come running through the debris. Nat stands between them and the Quinjet.
"You're not going to stop," she says to Steve. It's not a question.
Steve shakes his head. "You know I can't."
Nat sighs, "I'm going to regret this." She lifts her wrist and fires an electric charge from her Black Widow's Bite, stunning T'Challa who stands behind Steve, ready to avenge his father’s death in the UN bombing.
"Go," Nat says.
Steve and Bucky join Kate on the Quinjet. "Glad you could make it," she says as Steve slides into the pilot's seat.
_____
Bucky and Kate sit behind Steve in the Quinjet, not speaking. Bucky's mind is a jumble of questions he wants to ask them both. He starts with Steve.
"What's going to happen to your friends?" Bucky asks.
Steve sighs and shakes his head. "Whatever it is...I'll deal with it."
Bucky stares straight ahead. "I don't know if I'm worth all this, Steve."
Steve glances at Bucky. "What you did all those years...it wasn't you. You didn't have a choice."
"I know," Bucky says, then looks at Steve, "but I did it."
Kate bites her bottom lip and stays silent.
_____
Somewhere outside of Moscow’s airspace, Kate's phone dings. She pulls up an encrypted email from Tony.
"Steve, you need to see this," she says.
She opens a file detailing who the doctor in Berlin really was: Colonel Helmut Zemo. Steve studies the information, his mouth set in a hard line.
"Who the hell is this guy?" Kate asks.
"He's Sokovian," Steve finally says, and Kate can see in his eyes that he's still haunted by what happened in the small country.
"At least Tony knows the truth now," she says.
Steve only nods.
_____
Steve brings the Quinjet to land in the snow on a remote mountain top and kills the engine. Kate pulls out a rack of guns labeled 'Romanoff' and hands Bucky a machine gun. She takes a pistol for herself from a cabinet above and places it in her thigh holster. She can feel Bucky's questioning eyes on her again.
"Tony used to take me shooting every year for my birthday," she says.
"You sure about this?" he asks. She knows what he's asking, if she's sure about risking her life for him, choosing him over Tony.
"Always," she says, and she kisses him on the cheek before sliding another pistol into the back of her belt.
She moves to stand behind Bucky and Steve as the exit ramp of the jet descends.
Steve turns to Bucky and asks, "You remember that time we had to ride back from Rockaway Beach in the back of that freezer truck?"
"Was that the time we used our train money to buy hot dogs?" Bucky asks, smiling.
"You blew three bucks trying to win that stuffed bear for a redhead," Steve says.
"What was her name again?" Bucky asks.
"Dolores. You called her Dot."
"Should I be jealous?" Kate chimes in.
Bucky smiles again. "She's got to be a hundred years old right now."
"So are we, pal," Steve says, clapping him on the back.
Kate follows closely behind Steve and Bucky as they enter the bunker. On a lower level, a loud thud catches their attention, and they all turn as a set of double doors are forced apart by Tony in his Iron Man suit.
He steps forward and retracts his helmet.
"So, you're done being a jackass?" Kate asks, lowering her weapon slightly.
"You seem a little defensive," Tony says. Steve takes a few steps toward him without lowering his shield. Behind him, Bucky keeps his gun aimed at Tony.
"It's been a long day," Steve says.
"At ease, Soldier," Tony says to Bucky. "I'm not currently after you."
"So, why are you here?" Steve asks. He wants to hear Tony admit he was wrong.
"Could be your story's not so crazy," Tony says. "Maybe. Ross has no idea I'm here. I'd like to keep it that way. Otherwise, I got to arrest myself."
"Well, that sounds like a lot of paperwork," Steve replies, lowering his shield. "It's good to see you, Tony."
"You too, Cap," Tony says, then he turns at Kate. "Katie."
"Big brother," Kate says.
Tony looks at Bucky. "Hey, Manchurian Candidate," he says, "You're killing me. There's a truce here. You can drop..."
Steve indicates to Bucky that he can lower his weapon and he does.
The four of them continue through the bunker, with Bucky keeping Kate between himself and Steve. Tony, with his helmet reengaged, leads the group into a large chamber holding several cryo capsules.
"I've got heat signatures," he says.
"How many?" Steve asks.
Tony hesitates. "Uh, one."
As they enter, the lights come on and the cryo capsules fill with a hazy, yellow mist. They can see that the capsules contain the other super soldiers. Kate catches Bucky's eye and they share a bewildered look.
A voice comes over an intercom system. "If it's any comfort, they died in their sleep," Zemo says. "Did you really think I wanted more of you?"
As they draw closer, they can see that each soldier has been shot in the head.
"What the hell?" Bucky mutters.
"I'm grateful to them, though," Zemo continues. "They brought you here."
A light in a control room at the back of the chamber comes on, illuminating Zemo's face. Steve hurls his shield toward the small window, but it flies back.
"Please, Captain," Zemo says, "The Soviets built this chamber to withstand the launch blast of UR-100 rockets."
"I'm betting I could beat that," Tony says.
"Oh, I'm sure you could, Mr. Stark. Given time. But then you'd never know why you came."
"You killed innocent people in Vienna just to bring us here?" Steve asks, making his way to the door that separates Zemo from the rest of them.
"I thought about nothing else for over a year. I studied you. I followed you. But now that you're standing here, I just realized," Zemo pauses, "...there's a bit of green in the blue of your eyes." He chuckles. "How nice to find a flaw."
"You're Sokovian," Steve says. "Is that what this is about?"
"Sokovia was a failed state long before you blew it to hell. No," Zemo shakes his head. "I'm here because I made a promise."
"You lost someone?"
Zemo clicks his tongue. "I lost everyone. And so will you."
A small screen to Steve's left comes to life.
"An empire toppled by its enemies can rise again," Zemo continues. "But one which crumbles from within? That's dead. Forever."
Tony steps up to the screen, his helmet retracted, and studies the grainy security footage of a secluded road.
"I know that road," he says. He turns to Zemo, "What is this?"
Kate steps up behind him. "It's...." she starts but doesn't finish. She can't pull her eyes away from the date at the bottom of the screen: December 16, 1991.
The tape plays. The car on screen crashes into a tree, and Kate gasps. She watches as her father tumbles out of the driver's side door and a man approaches. She can hear her father's voice in her head before he speaks: "Help my wife, my daughter. Please. Help." Bucky can't look at Kate; he doesn't want to see the realization dawn on her face, doesn't want to watch it turn to hatred. When her father looks to the man above him with recognition and says, "Sergeant Barnes?" Kate sobs. She isn't sure how her legs are still holding her up, and she can taste bile in her mouth.
When the tape ends, Tony lunges toward Bucky.
Steve stops him. "Tony. Tony."
Tony turns to Steve, tears in his eyes, "Did you know?"
"I didn't know it was him," Steve says.
"Don't bullshit me, Rogers! Did you know?" he asks again.
"Yes," Steve answers. Tony pushes him away.
Kate finally turns to look at Bucky. He's not sure he can handle the tears running down her face. "You could have killed me," she says. "You should have killed me. Why didn't you?" Her voice grows progressively louder with each statement.
"You weren't my mission," he says quietly. But it's a lie. The mission called for no witnesses. He doesn't know why Kate is still alive. But he remembers her wide, scared eyes looking up at him that night, not unlike how she's looking at him now, and his heart feels like it might crack in two.
"So, what?" Tony shouts. "The Winter Soldier has a conscience? You don't kill kids? Just leave them orphaned?" He lunges for Bucky again.
"Tony, stop," Kate says, reaching for him.
Tony turns to her quickly. "You're grounded, Katie," he says, and he fires a low-voltage stun from his repulsor that knocks her unconscious. Bucky lets out a deep growl as Kate's body hits the floor.
The fight that breaks out is chaotic. Steve is certain that Tony will kill Bucky, and he isn't confident that Bucky won't be able to keep himself from killing Tony to protect Kate.
"Get out of here," he roars at Bucky, and he throws himself between the two of them.
"It wasn't him, Tony," Steve shouts. "HYDRA had control of his mind!"
"Move!" Tony demands.
"It wasn't him!"
But Tony isn't letting up. Tony gets Bucky the neck and seethes, "Do you even remember them?"
"I remember all of them," Bucky growls and pushes off from the platform he's on, taking Tony with him.
_____
When Kate wakes, her head is pounding. She gets to her feet slowly and looks around. Zemo is gone, having used the chaos as an opportunity to escape, and she can't see Bucky, Steve, or Tony anywhere. The room is eerily quiet. She stands still for a moment, taking deep breaths and waiting for a wave of nausea to pass. She's fairly sure she has a concussion.
As her vision becomes clearer and the ringing in her ears dies away, Steve appears at the entrance of the room with Bucky beside him. They're leaning on each other and seem to both be holding the other up. Bucky's titanium arm has been blown away, and Kate gasps at the sight. Steve doesn't look much better. She makes her way to them and presses her palm against Bucky's bloody cheek. The sight of him in pain momentarily outweighs her heartbreak at the recent revelations about her parents. He hisses at the touch to his bruised face, and she pulls her hand away quickly.
"Sorry," she says. But he shakes his head.
Kate turns to Steve. "Where's Tony?"
Steve gives a nod over his shoulder toward the silo where he left Tony with the shield, and says, "It's over."
Kate wants to ask more questions, but she doesn't think now is the time. She follows the two super soldiers out of the bunker and back to the Quinjet.
_____
Aboard the Quinjet, Kate finds one of Tony's T-shirts and wraps it around what's left of Bucky's arm to cover the jagged metal. Then she pulls out the first aid kit and wipes the blood from his face. They haven't spoken about the tape or that night in 1991, and neither of them know what to say. So, they both stay silent.
When she finishes with Bucky, Kate makes Steve sit still so she can clean his wounds, as well. He watches her closely as she bandages his bloody knuckles.
"I'm sorry about Tony," he says. "About what he did to you back there."
"Thanks," she says. "I've never seen him like that. He...," she pauses, "I know he feels guilty about what happened, things he said to Dad before he died, things he didn't say. And then...having to raise me. It was a lot for him."
"And you?" Steve asks.
Kate is quiet for a moment before answering. “They died before I even knew them. The only memory I have of them is this dream of the night of the crash and a man I thought was a figment of my imagination. Turns out.…” She doesn’t finish the thought.
“It wasn’t him,” Steve says. “Not really.”
She looks over at Bucky, slumped in one of the seats on the other side of the jet. She knows he's listening, but he doesn't look up. "I know," she tells Steve, meeting his eyes again with a soft smile.
Kate closes the first aid kid and stands. Before she turns away from Steve, she says, "You knew. Nat knew, and she left it out of the file. You could have told me."
Steve looks up at her. "Would you have helped me find him?"
"I don't know," she says. She looks at Bucky again. "But I'm glad I did."

Can you do a scenario for Law marrying his lover. But the world government wants her only dead, because of her demonic powers. Laws lover told him that she pregnant, but someone told the Marines/world government that Law is married to the girl they want dead and she also pregnant with his child. How would Law/crew/straw hats react to the news, also the marine/world government.
(This became a scenario/HC hybrid, so I hope that’s okay!)
Tumblr media
“…I’m pregnant.”
Law’s eyes widened slightly as he stared at his lover. He wasn’t expecting her to say that first thing in the morning. “Are you…are you sure? Your period could just be late,” he replied.
____ shook her head. “I can sense it,” she said, placing a hand on her stomach underneath the covers of their shared bed. “There’s another presence here. Something that shares my blood, and yours.” She smiled gently at him, and the tips of her fangs peeked through her lips. “Ours.”
Law’s eyes drifted down to her stomach, and a dizzying array of emotions swirled through his head. He was excited, ecstatic even; he was going to be a father. Despite how happy he felt, he knew that his child’s life wouldn’t be easy. Law was constantly targeted by the World Government and after the events of Dressrosa, Kaido also had his eyes on the Surgeon of Death. ____ was also a target of the World Government, only wanted dead because of her demonic powers. If their child had any trace of her abilities, it would just be another reason to want them dead. How can the two of them take care of a child in a situation like that?
____ placed one of her hands on Law’s. “I know it’s a lot to take in,” she said softly. “I just felt it when I was sleeping, and to be honest, I’m still not sure how to feel.” Her hand squeezed Law’s, and he felt her fingernails graze the skin on his fingers.
Her touch snapped him back to reality a little bit, and he absentmindedly squeezed her hand back. He blinked once and slowly removed his hand to wrap his arms around her, cradling the back of her head with his palm. “I…” He didn’t know what to say. It was rare for him to be speechless, but there were so many things he wanted to say and do at the same time. He wanted to kiss ____, hold her in his arms, and never let her go. He wanted to run through the Polar Tang and shout that he’s going to be a father. He wanted to abandon his quest for the One Piece to give his family a quiet life free of danger. He wanted to find the One Piece and use his freedom as the Pirate King to provide everything his family needed. He wanted to make a plan. He wanted to do something impulsive and spontaneous, without regard for the consequences.
“Will you marry me?”
____ looked up at Law. “What?”
“I love you,” Law said. He caressed the back of her head as he held her. “You’re the mother of my child. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Not just as lovers, not just as parents, but something more.”
____ was taken aback by his proposal. She loved Law more than anything in the world, but…she was the Demon Queen; holy matrimony wasn’t exactly something that people seek out with a demonic being, a monster like her. She smiled at Law and cupped Law’s cheek. Then again, Law wasn’t like most people. She moved up to kiss Law and when she pulled away, her eyes were practically shining. “Yes, yes” she replied breathlessly, her face flushed as she beamed at her lover–no, her fiance. “Of course I’ll marry you!”
Despite his best efforts to keep their upcoming nuptials a secret outside of the crew, word eventually reached Marineford after Trafalgar Law’s crew had bought a few curious items at the town they were last spotted in: white-and-silver cloth and a veil from a dressmaker’s shop, a small ring with a dark red gem from a jewelry store, and a bridal bouquet from a florist. His navigator had also been reported to have bought a small stuffed toy from a children’s store (a small stuffed snow leopard with a matching spotted baby blanket). Once the report had made it to Marine HQ, it quickly made its way to Grand Admiral Akainu’s desk and he called a meeting with Kizaru.
“Ohh, so they’re tying the knot?” Kizaru smirked at the report, and Akainu’s dour expression. “How sweet…Hey, maybe we could send them a wedding gift!”
Akainu glowered at his colleague. “Like a pair of Sea Stone handcuffs,” he replied gruffly. “I’m more concerned about what the navigator bought.” His eyes drifted down to the sentence describing the toy and blanket that Bepo had bought. “The marriage is inconsequential, but if she’s pregnant with his child…”
Kizaru leaned back on the couch he was lounging on. “Maybe this is a good thing,” he replied breezily. “If he’s got a wife and a bun in the oven, Law might be hesitant to do anything rash for a while. He’d have to lay low, and he’d be out of our hair for a short time.”
Akainu shook his head. “And what about the child? It’ll be born with the Will of D, and it’s likely got that witch’s demonic powers.” He stared down at the report on his desk.
“We could always give the kid their own wanted poster,” Kizaru said with a sarcastic lilt. “Though we’d have to wait a bit until we get a photo of them. Maybe if we ask nicely, Law could send us a copy of the ultrasound.”
Akainu stood up and walked out of his office. “We’ll just raise their bounties for now,” he said firmly. “If they aren’t captured or killed by the time their spawn is born, then we’ll give it an individual wanted poster.”
Kizaru raised an eyebrow as Akainu as he left and called out to him from the couch. “I was joking!”
Once their bounties were raised, rumors spread quickly throughout the seas that The Surgeon of Death and the Demon Queen were expecting. Law received a few packages from various News Coos congratulating the new couple. Rebecca, Viola, and Mansherry each sent him gifts; since he was integral to Dressrosa’s liberation, and because he was a “friend” of Straw Hat Luffy, they were more than happy to send him and his future wife a kind message and a few presents for their baby! Rebecca cut a piece of her gladiator’s cape and lined it with fur to create a soft, warm blanket. Viola sent a silver bath basin and a luxurious child-sized robe, as well as a few silk napkins to wipe up any spit-up. Mansherry sent a hand-made baby mobile made of multiple intertwined flowers (that strangely didn’t seem to ever dry out), as well as a small crystal vial containing some of her Healing Liquid in case the baby was ever hurt and needed it to heal them.
Some of the other Supernovas also sent various notes and small gifts; even if they were all rivals, it was a tradition to congratulate a fellow pirate if they were about to have a child and celebrate a new generation of piracy being brought into the world. Kid sent him a letter of congratulations, saying that even though babies were “fuckin gross squishy goblins,” he knew that Law would be able to protect his kid. (He also said that just because Law was a dad, it didn’t mean that he’d hold back when they inevitably fought again). Bonney sent him a letter demanding to know when the wedding was so she could have some wedding cake; she sent him two boxes of dark chocolates, saying that they were both for his wife in case she had cravings for something sweet. Urouge sent a necklace of wooden prayer beads, meant to bless the new child from “the dark forces that will conspire to harm them.” Apoo sent a “super sick bedtime mixtape”, and the music on it was actually very soothing. Hawkins was actually the first person to send a gift, and determined through a card reading what was happening before the rumors began to spread; he sent a small doll made out of straw, as well as a colored sketch of the cards he’d pulled when doing his reading (The Empress, the Lovers, and the Star, all upright).
Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hats wanted to bring their gifts in-person, and by sheer luck they managed to crash the wedding at the exact island the Heart Pirates were holding it on right before the wedding was about to start. Bonney and her crew were also there since she knew there’d be cake, and Apoo’s crew was there since he’d offered to be the DJ (and refused to take no for an answer). Bepo, Penguin, and Shachi almost killed each other when they had argued who should be Law’s best man, so the three of them were splitting the responsibilities throughout the wedding.  ____ casually asked Robin to be her bridesmaid; she didn’t have many friends, but she felt a bit of kinship with the Devil Child and Robin happily accepted. Every time Sanji got heart eyes and gushed about how beautiful the bride looked, Law would roll his eyes and Shamble him to the other side of the reception.
The ceremony itself was very quiet and intimate. Nami managed to clap a hand over Luffy’s mouth (he kept cheering for Law and would not stop supporting his friend…very loudly), and Bepo proudly officiated the wedding by reading the vows on the back of his paw so he wouldn’t forget what to say. When they finally kissed, Franky was so moved that he launched an array of fireworks from his arms into the sky while sobbing over what a SUPER couple they were.
The reception was loud and raucous as the food and drinks kept flowing. Zoro, Bonney, Brook, and Usopp were drunkenly singing wedding and love songs; Apoo was playing a bomb-ass setlist of wedding songs; Zoro and Sanji got into a dance contest…that they both lost (Franky and Chopper entered the fray and absolutely obliterated them).
Law and ____ shared their first dance together on the beach while everyone else was distracted by Zoro and Sanji on the actual dance floor. Truth be told, Law preferred it this way. He had a content, lovestruck smile on his face as they swayed together in the moonlight; now, it was just the two of them. Well…the three of them.

What’s her relationship like with da galz?
Margaret: Tia generally thinks Margaret is a great friend to her. She, along with Benson, would hang out with her and the others for a group activity. Tia was saddened when Margaret left for college, not as depressed as Mordecai was, but at least they still kept in touch with each other. During Season 6, Margaret came back from college, and Tia was ecstatic to see her again. However, the awkward situations Mordecai goes through with her, plus the constant wrong impressions they keep giving CJ made it difficult for Tia to hang out with Margaret if CJ was involved for unnecessary drama.
Eileen: Tia likes Eileen. Her crush on Rigby was cute to Tia, even if Rigby didn’t think so at first. Tia and Eileen would sometimes put their minds together and use their smarts to figure out a certain problem. Throughout the series, Tia noticed Rigby and Eileen interacting more, which popped a question in her head: “Are Rigby and Eileen making it officially clear that they’re becoming boyfriend and girlfriend??” In the Season 6 finale Dumped at the Altar, Eileen told Tia that she and Rigby are dating, and Tia... was... speechless. She let out a big “OHHHHHHHH!!” and shouted that she knew that would happen all along, making Eileen blush and laugh. Tia was nevertheless proud of her friend for the rest of the series.
CJ: Tia was seen to already be friends with CJ in her debut episode Yes Dude Yes when she was walking with her friends. Despite her anger issues, she found CJ as a cool gal to hang out with. But all that changed in Season 6 after Margaret came back from college. In Merry Christmas Mordecai, Tia was angry with Mordecai for kissing Margaret in front of CJ, who ran out of Eileen’s house in tears after she saw them kissing. “It doesn’t matter if it’s a mistletoe; you don’t just “accidentally” kiss your ex in front of your girlfriend!” Tia growled at Mordecai. Then in the episode Sad Sax, Tia decided to spend some time at CJ’s house, and CJ told Tia about the mistakes Mordecai made (Margaret calling him when they were about to make up, the fake death, him hugging Margaret), making Tia facepalm over Mordecai’s stupidity. Then, in I See Turtles, Tia was also bummed that Margaret wasn’t there with her friends at the beach, until later on, she was proud when CJ called Margaret over to report the news about Youth Topia and their misuse of turtles. She thought they were finally gonna patch things up until 1000th Chopper Flight Party happened. CJ came to the party after cleaning up a river with some friends, but she saw Mordecai and Margaret hanging out on the chopper and instantly got pissed and went full thunderstorm on them. Tia tried to talk some sense into her, but instead CJ shot her down with a bolt of lightning, hurting her arm and giving her a scar on her stomach in the process. After Margaret managed to calm CJ down by telling her that she already had a boyfriend, CJ started feeling guilty about her actions and turned back to normal. And as if it couldn’t get any worse, Tia harshly called CJ out and ended her friendship with her. 2 weeks after the events of the episode (because Not Great Double Date didn’t happen in this AU lol), CJ tried to talk to Tia and even gave her a box of chocolates and a cat ball for a make up gift, but Tia rejected her offer and either gave her the cold shoulder or another lecture. But after some convincing from Benson to give CJ another chance, Tia did so and called her to give her one more chance. When they picked up CJ, Margaret and Eileen, they all went to Wing Kingdom to hang out. It also turned out that Margaret lied about having a boyfriend after CJ popped the question about that, but she explained that it was the only way for CJ to calm down at the party, and to not get killed. CJ felt guilty again and apologized to Margaret for making her feel like a tourist around her own friends. Margaret accepted her apology and they finally made up and became friends. And because of that, Tia is now friends with CJ again. (I’ll make a fanfic about that later lol)
Starla: They don’t hang out very often, but there was a time they did hang out together, along with CJ, Eileen and Celia, for Tia’s twin sister Leah’s bachelorette party. Aside from that, Tia thinks Starla was a generally nice person, and she was happy when Muscle Man and Starla got married in the season 6 finale.
Celia: Again, like Starla, they didn’t hang out very often, but Tia likes Celia’s down-to-earth personality.
BONUS
Audrey: Tia hates her. Just straight up LOATHE. XD But for real, when Audrey was revealed to be Benson’s girlfriend before Tia, Tia did NOT approve of this ship and was glad the two broke up in The Real Thomas.
Pam: When Tia first met Pam, she thought she was there just to take more notes on her, but Pam genuinely wanted to be friends with Tia. So they spent some time together at the coffee shop one day, talking about their lives and how it was during work. In Pam I Am, Tia accepted Pam as Benson’s second girlfriend. ^^

Who’s the bad guy? (2p + 1p America x reader) 18
Wordcount: 3,552 The reader is referred to as she/her
A body slumped heavily against the table, causing the cutlery laying on top to clink. The woman who had been approached by the host of the event not long ago was now out like a light, her cheek pressing firmly against the crisp white table cloth. But it was now stained with a beige blotch of her foundation. Guests sitting around her had their conversations cut short at that, their murmurs and laughs fading as they realized the source of the thud. A butler standing nearby with a tray rushed over to her side to shake at her back.
"Ma'am, are you alright?" He asked her through a shaky breath. No response. She was completely limp, and the panic racing through the man's eyes immediately spread to the faces at that table. "Oh my god, somebody call 911!" A voice screamed. That voice was joined by many others in the same, fearful tone, and eventually, chaos choked the necks of guests of surrounding tables to make them pale.
To start chaos was just like kindling a fire. It would ravage its way through its surroundings and leave behind destruction you could never go back from. It did not take long at all for the whole hall to catch on to what happened. But the people sitting near the scene took notice right away. Flipping your head to the man sitting next to you with round eyes, you found yourself staring at him smoking another cigarette with his dark and hot magenta eyes fixated at whatever it was in front of him. "Luciano!?" You whispered. "You just- You just-" The glass the unfortunate lady drank from turned out to be no ordinary serving of vodka just like he had suspected. "-poisoned her!" He inserted the cigarette in between his lips before turning to you. There was no remorse in that gaze of his. "She's not poisoned. Drugged, my dear." He responded, inhaling from the little white tube again. "And I wasn't the one who was responsible. It looks like my staff here has really been compromised..." Luciano continued. It took you a while for your brain to process his words and to make the links, but when you did, the color drained from your face. The moment you saw Happy, you knew they had come for you. Allen and Alfred that is. But this man-- those piercing irises glowered over you in the same manner a predator would to their prey-- he was too good. He caught on even with the assistance of the smallest hints and you were back to square one again. They were back to square one again. And you were cornered like a trapped animal, once again. Even with his security defeated, having him even know about this rescue mission increased the risk of failing by more than fifty-percent. "Your friends won't be able to save you, (F/N). You're mine." He narrowed his gaze dangerously and pulled you into his lap. You let out a fearful yelp at that, squirming and struggling to the best of your ability to rip yourself away from him. Taking advantage of everybody's attention diverted to the unconscious guest, he did as he pleased with you. All while the little wisps of grey curled from his cigarette in between his lips, he interlocked his gloved fingers with yours and stopped your movements. A few soft cries were heard, but they only quietened down as he pressed his face to yours. You looked away. "I take it back. You and Allen might see each other." He murmured, grazing his lips over your cheeks as he spoke to send chills down your spine. "Mm... Maybe for a second. But it's better that way since I can see the pain in his eyes as I take you away from him forever." You choked back a sob. If this had not been centered around Allen, you would not have been reduced to tears this quickly. Not because it was his fault and the feeling of betrayal lingered, but because Luciano kept on mentioning his name. At this point, you did not even care what Allen did in his shady past. You missed him. He was your best friend-- a flawed human you guessed. Very flawed. He was one to make mistakes, and that was an understatement. But at the same time, you would never dare to hold a grudge against him. If Luciano was trying to test your love for him, the results were already here. "Fuck you...!" You hissed, shooting him a dark glare. "I bet you Allen's right outside that door right now, ready to gun you down. The police and Alfred'll be here too, and they're gonna lock you up in jail where you'll rot for the rest of your life!" As you spat venom in his face, he welcomed it with a mocking smile. After all, he was venom. "But their plan to get me has already failed. They can't save you as long as I'm here, wide awake." He responded lowly, nearing his face to yours again much to your discomfort. His grip on your hand never loosened, and it looked like he was about to kiss you while you sat in his lap. "They'd have to kill me to get you. And I doubt they even had a proper, civilized conversation with the police-" Luciano let out a loud laugh- "Hah! You're killing me, bella. The police! Allen can't work together with the police!" "... Yes he can." You whispered faintly, startled by his loud explosive laughter. "To get you, they'll have to work together." The Italian mobster just shook his head. Were you this naïve? "He can't. He can't work with anyone, let alone the police. He's just that guy." He hummed. "And that is exactly why he won't be able to get you. He's an arrogant dumbass who thinks he can do everything by himself." Speak of the devil, and he shall appear. And this one was for dramatic entrances. The double doors swung open after being kicked by the man behind it. A few heads turned to the newcomer whose attire clashed greatly with their own. He wore a bomber jacket and ripped jeans while everyone else was dressed primly in tuxedos and evening dresses like they had been cut straight out of a fashion magazine. But then again, he was not one of them. Taking long, powerful strides with a gun pointed straight at the figure sitting in the centermost table, he stormed to him with a murderous rage. Guns were omens and harbingers of death, and everyone seemed to know when someone made a move to use them. It only took a few seconds for the guests to understand that shit really did hit the fan and made their quick decisions to flee. While everyone ran by in a blur, Allen was in a deep state of mind to derive a fool-proof plan to save you. And to make matters worse, you were sitting in his lap. If you had not been there, he would have pulled the trigger without hesitation. "Let her go right now, you piece of shit." He growled, cocking the firearm with a loud click. He always prayed that seeing you would flood his systems with a rush of euphoria and not pure fear. But it was finally happening-- this scenario he dreaded that had you in the arms of someone he did wrong. Under the death in those fiery red irises hid another version of himself he never showed anyone. Under the stoic surface of him pointing a gun at his most hated nemesis was him, cowering in terror. But he refused to let that persona of his manifest. He couldn't, for you. Your prayers were answered, but you were far from being home safe as of yet. When Allen finally appeared, your heart thundered so violently in your chest it threatened to break right out your ribs. You struggled and twisted in the Italian's hold that seemed to tighten even more. But you couldn't blame him. Allen actually showed up like you said. Luciano suddenly shot up with you in his hold. Spinning you around so you could face your savior, he whipped out a throwing knife and held that against your neck. The dam in your eyes finally broke upon feeling the cold touch of the blade and you burst into tears. "Please don't hurt me!" You choked in between cries with an enflamed face. "Allen, help!" Allen's blood ran cold when the whole ordeal escalated just like that and his mouth fell open. "Luciano! Don't you dare touch her!" He roared. But he already did. His favorite throwing knife was held against the softness of your neck, and with a simple movement, it would claim your life like it did with so many other's. And knowing that made him panic like mad. His face was losing color and little beads of sweat were forming around his temple. What could he possibly say to make the other lower his hand that clenched so tightly around that weapon? Allen was never really a talker if it did not count flirting. He was more of a doing-guy. Do before thinking. That's how he always got by, but it was clearer than day that following that little motto of his would end up with fatal prospects. "There's no point. You're just taking another life-" His voice cracked when he said that. "-another innocent life. You won't get anything out of it! You'll just get more blood on your hands!" The other just sneered and dug the blade deeper into your neck, the sight making Allen tense up in all reality. "Don't!" While the redhead had his visage fixated on the knife pressed up against you, your captor took advantage of his frazzled state of mind and backed away some more. It did not look like it, but he was in a similar state of mind. He did not believe that Allen even made it this far into this establishment, so he did not expect himself to be cornered like this to his last resort. To flee into his personal chopper and leave his own party. How embarrassing. "One sin or a thousand, you still end up going to hell!" He hissed back, walking backward slowly with clenched teeth. "And I'm talking to you, Allen! Why don't you enjoy the fun while you can? You're a murderer just like me! You're a bad guy! I told your girlfriend all about you!" His breath hitched and he gripped tighter on his gun. "You-" He was caught off guard at how low he could stoop, but it was not at all surprising. Immediately, the burning hatred dissolved into concern and he turned his attention to you. You shook your head furiously when you met the look he had in his eyes, the force causing a few tears to go flying off to the side. "Don't listen to him, Al! I don't care what you did in the past. I don't car-" A hand clamped over your mouth and muffled the rest of your screams. Your hot breath ended up dampening his gloved palm. Unfortunately for Luciano, his efforts to silence you proved useless in the end because Allen heard everything he needed. "Fuck you. I'm not like you at all!" He shouted, feeling a small tremble seize his arm that was holding his gun. "I only killed once for reason-- to save my friends and my whole damn neighborhood from rich, selfish bastards like you!" When you suspected he had a reason, a gut feeling told you were correct-- and you really were. "That doesn't matter! A life is a life!" The man shot back, gripping the handle of his knife even tighter with cold, clammy hands. He backed away some more with you struggling to pull the lethal blade as further away from your neck as possible. As much as he wanted to turn around and book it the fuck out of there already, he could not risk taking his eyes off of the man in the bomber jacket. That meant instant death for him. And that would mean an instant win for the police and Allen. Like hell he'd let that happen. Maybe over his dead body, literally. "And if you think you can get let off the hook after fucking with me, you're a fool!" "I could say the same to you." He whispered, wiping away a ball of sweat before it could enter his mouth. Narrowing his dark gaze, he readied his index finger on the trigger. He took note of the way you struggled and pulled at the mobster's arm. The knife kept on parting from your skin as you did, and if you managed to push it away far enough, he could blast a hole in his damn head without worrying about your safety. But for the meantime, he focused on getting his guard down. "The police are waiting for you. Even if you do kill (F/N), you're fucking over." To mention such a thing squeezed his heart, but it was the cold, hard truth. There was really nothing for Luciano to get out of holding you hostage like this because he was going to lose everything in the end, whether you were alive or dead. So why was he doing this? The answer was simple, but difficult to find for those who had a heart. "I'm not over because I am going to win. Being caught is irrelevant." He spat. He would never admit it, but he was actually shocked there was police involved in this. Not that he had the time to properly react anyway. "Just as long as you lose everything's that precious to you, I win." At that moment, Allen's peripheral vision disappeared into black as he was speared with a revelation. Everything narrowed down into a tunnel and all he could see was you. His breathing grew shallow and his head started to spin. The mobster couldn't care less about getting caught. Nor did he care about dying. That was right. He was that twisted. He was so torn apart vengeance he did not mind trading up his life just to ruin his. He could kill you and be satisfied with just that. Even if he was shot dead right after, he would die happy because Allen was going to live with pain. Everything made sense now, and connecting the ends to come up with this confronting conclusion made Allen's heart drop to the pit of his stomach. Luciano could slit your throat right now. He could take you away from him, forever, and do so with a smile. "It's over, you motherfucker!" "Nothing's over while I'm breathing-" He screamed, only to be cut short with a loud thump at the back of his head. The grip around you loosened as he fell forward, and you were finally able to breathe without worrying about killing yourself. The pain would have been so excruciating to fathom, but he was knocked out cold before he could properly experience the unpleasant sensation. Somebody just smashed a whole chair against the back of his head, and when he collapsed onto the ground, the one responsible was revealed. Glancing over your shoulder with a racing heart, you gasped when you saw who it was. "Alfred!" You squealed, jumping up to latch your arms around his neck. Pulling away with relief, you cupped his cheek and returned the smile he offered you. "You just saved my life! Thank you!" "No problem, (F/N)." He breathed heavily with a lazy grin. That chair was pretty heavy, it seems. He then ripped his gaze away from you to direct it to whatever it was in front. "But I also think you need to thank the brains of the operation." The blonde gestured to the figure standing behind you with his head. You slid your arms off of his shoulders and turned around to find yourself staring at Allen whose gaze was purposely directed off to the side. A small smile was tugging at his lips as he stretched his arms wide open like he was expecting you to dive right in them-- and hell, he was right. Wasting not a second to run over to him, you jumped at him in a manner that sent him stumbling back a few steps. But he caught you like always. "I missed you so, so much!" You cried, coiling your arms around his neck so tight like he'd disappear if you didn't. You even clamped your legs around his torso to hold onto him like a koala. But you could not help it. Joy had filled you to the brim and manifested in the most bittersweet manner. Alfred was not hurt the least upon witnessing the difference between your reunion with his and his cousin's. He just watched along with a wide smile, and for the first time, he was happy for Allen. Walking over to the said man, he whispered something in his ear before leaving, making sure not to forget the body on the ground. He dragged that away for a few meters before he was joined by a few of his friends-- Happy, Flavio and Eliza. Before they could surround you and shower you with affection, Alfred hissed at them to keep moving the body. You and Allen deserved the privacy. As you sobbed in his neck, he returned the embrace just as tight. Nestling his chin in the crooked of your neck, he felt bile rise up in his throat the longer you cried in his ear. But he swallowed it all down and took the initiative to console you. To tell you that he was here, and there was nothing to be afraid of anymore. Allen rubbed comforting circles in your neck as he held you in his strong arms. It took you a while to stop the tears, and he did not make a single peep as you cried your heart out. Once you did quieten down to sniffs and hiccups, Allen opened his mouth to speak. "Have you stopped crying now?" His arms were now under your thighs and he bounced you once as he captured you in a loving gaze. Because you were looming over him, he needed to tilt his head back a little. "You big baby." His lips were stretched into a warm smile when he called you that. Usually, you would have given him a playful pinch to reciprocate the playful name, but instead, you just pressed your forehead to his. The action calmed the rapid thumping in his chest, and he shut his eyes to savor the sensation of your skin against his. "I won't cry anymore." You murmured, fluttering your eyes open to find that he still had his closed. An idea, no, a desire suddenly hit you as you flickered your irises over his peaceful face. He would not see it coming, would he? Not that he would mind. And this was the perfect time to do it too. After nights of terror and perhaps months of dread for Allen, everything would be vanquished by this short, sweet moment. If you did end up doing it, you would be returning what he had been giving you for the past few years. So you gave in to the pleas of your heart you had been ignoring and leaned in to kiss Allen. The second your lips met, everything else in the world disappeared and all you could focus on was the pounding in your chest and the softness of his own lips. It took him a second to register that you were kissing him. You were actually kissing him! You, not him. And that fact made him ecstatic. And when it all dawned on him in the most pleasant way possible, he returned the intimate exchange and captured you in a breathless kiss, something he had been wanting to do with you for a long while now. Aside from being drowned in happiness like never before, he was also swarmed with so many questions. What now? He pulled away from the kiss and stared up at you with grin. "I'm guessing I have another reason to be protective of you now." A small laugh was heard before you hummed in agreement. "Yup." You just stared right back down at him, and God, it was hard not to kiss him again. "You wanna take me home, Al?" He nodded and started to walk in the direction of home-- and by that, meaning the exit of this stupid hotel. "Thank you for choosing to ride with Allen today- Ow!" You bonked him on the head. "Go faster!" He picked up the pace by jogging. "Alright, whatever you say, babydoll. I'll go harder and deeper as well- Hey!" You hit him again with a red face. "You have no shame!" Allen's cheeks were hurting from how much he was smiling. It was just too much fun to tease you for the pleasure he got out of it was so addicting. And that last statement you made about him was very true. With you, he had no shame at all. No secrets to hide, and certainly, no boundaries.

Tldr: New Dawn isn't about the Captain the way FC5 is about the Deputy.
This is just my personal thoughts about it.
So the Captain has absolutely no say about going into Hope County, like at the beginning of 5 you can literally walk away from the events (like honestly you're 5 people walking into a compound full of heavily armed cultists, I would not have gotten out of the chopper tbh) but you as the Deputy can choose to walk away from the events of the game. The Captain is automatically forced into going to Hope County, no discussion between Rush and the Captain about what their game plan is, you're just on your way because Rush said so.
Joseph makes the game about the Deputy. It's not about Hudson or Pratt, Joseph singles out the Deputy. He says 'if you do this, you will cause the collapse.'
The Captain is just in the train, listening to Carmina (???? Were we on a vacation when Rush met with her? Why are we JUST meeting Carmina then??? Why wasn't the Captain part of the decision making process???) Our role in Rush's organization is never really explored. Like, Rush trusts us to do our job. ( which I didn't understand either, were we just a specialist whose Job was to HELP with Security??? Were we Rush's security? Because honestly we did a real bad job)
The Deputy becomes the focus of the Seed's. Granted, they would probably be happier to kill the Deputy than let them live, but Joseph wants the Deputy alive. He doesn't let John torture the Deputy during the baptism, he makes it clear that the Deputy has to live. Jacob admits he'd rather kill them but Joseph asked him not to. Faith is terrified of the consequences of failing Joseph, she desperately tries to cajole the Deputy into joining them.
Mickey & Lou don't need the Captain alive, they'd only need the Captain to keep Rush in line, assuming they even knew that the Captain was important to Rush. Of course, they're smart enough to see that Rush threw himself into the fire for the Captain and not Barnes. But Rush never says that it was because of his relationship with the Captain.
Mickey & Lou's motivations seem unclear. They're relationship with the highwaymen and their father is very unclear. It's clear they're the leaders after taking over from their father, but we literally know nothing about him. They seem to want to make things run smoothly for the highwaymen and Rush, with his know how, can help them. It's why they took him in the first place and then they just killed him??? Like they had both Rush & the Captain captured. They could have made Rush do whatever by threatening the Captain and stopped the Captain from messing up their operation.
Joseph continually gives the Deputy the attention of a main character. His focus is on stopping and converting the Deputy. Mickey & Lou, at best, consider the Captain a minor inconvenience until the Captain almost kills them with their Eden's Apple powers, and even then they think they killed the Captain.
The Deputy has relationships with the characters of FC5. They talk to the Deputy like they're friends and like the Deputy, despite their silence, has thoughts and opinions on things. It hurts to see that they didn't put any thought into the Judge's character. Like it's just bad writing, because the Judge at the very least needs to be a shell of who the Deputy was, and they aren't even that. All the Judge is, is a filler character that doesn't even get acknowledged in the story. Like, what does the Judge do? Who are they on relation to the cult? What's the relationship between Ethan & the Judge & Joseph? The Judge is unrecognizable as the Deputy and how everyone knows who the Judge is, is unbelievable.
Plus Ubisoft completely glosses over the Deputy's role in the events leading up to New Dawn. They don't talk about the Seed siblings. They don't talk about the Bliss, other than the brief warning that it'll 'seriously mess you up.' They don't do anything with this really complex relationship that Joseph and the Judge should have. The New Edeners don't say anything when the Judge leaves, they don't say anything to the Judge, and they hardly say anything about the Judge (I hesitate to say they say nothing about the Judge because I honestly could have missed it if they had). Honestly, I think the people of New Eden would have put the Judge in charge before Ethan. The Judge who should be, essentially, a herald of Joseph.
The Captain doesn't have the same connection. Even with a pre established relationship with Rush is unclear. Who is the Captain to Rush? Who is Rush to the Captain? How long have they known each other vs how long have we been helping Rush? Who were we to Rush's group? It's implied that Carmina is lying about something, theres a note on the train that says something like 'something doesn't feel right about this blah blah', it's clearly meant to cast doubt about her intentions. Did the Captain share this view? Or do they implicitly trust in Rush?
So who is the Captain to their companions? Like obviously they respect the Captain's authority as an expert but an expert in what? Security? How well has that worked out in the past for the Captain? Sure, maybe the Twins and the Highwaymen surprised them but Rush & the Captain lost their ENTIRE crew. It wasn't half the people died or most, Rush & the Captain are sole survivors. Anything they would have been able to do before, they can't do now.
Far Cry 5 had these amazing villains & companions with relationships to each other and motivations that were clear. There was plenty of in game and out of game content that added details to the world of Far Cry 5.
New Dawn has a fraction of what FC5 had. Mickey & Lou were sisters and they mention their father in passing in game and in the live action trailer, but we don't really know what drives them. Why, and did they really, kill their father? Greed? Maybe. Power? Yea, I guess, but it always felt to me like there should be more.
After Rush dies why does the Captain even bother? Like revenge, yes. Ok. But the Captain would know about Rush's daughter, wouldn't the Captain care about her? Why would the Captain stay in Hope County? The Captain has absolutely no reason to help anyone in Hope County after Rush dies, one odd prophecy from Joseph would mean NOTHING to the Captain, but everything to the Judge/Deputy. New Eden and its destruction would mean something to the Judge/Deputy, the Captain only helped New Eden because Rush wanted their help.
Which, let's talk about New Eden real fast. That's the Judge's home, after Joseph left their whole thing was protecting New Eden. They were literally in charge of who got to enter New Eden. Wouldn't the Judge feel a little guilty that they weren't there to do there one thing? This would be like the 3rd time they they didn't do what they were supposed to do and caused lots of people that the judge/deputy felt (or at least should feel) responsible for to die
It's been said before and I'll say it again, we lost out on Mickey & Lou to cater to the b plot of Joseph & Ethan. A relationship that meant absolutely nothing to the Captain and would have meant something to the Deputy. The Deputy who knows about Joseph's family, and what having a son would mean to Joseph.
The Deputy, having spent at least 6 years in the bunker with Joseph would know about Megan. Joseph said that it 'all came out. The project. His plans/visions, his family' while they were trapped together. (Which, also, he never once says anything about the Deputy's life. Like either he didn't let them talk or the Dep was so broken they didn't want to talk about their life, which is hella sad) so the Deputy would have some insight.
But who is the Captain? We know who the Deputy is, and yes a lot of it is based on what you out into the character, because at the end of the day, no matter what Mr ubisoft says, the character is yours. The Captain is essentially a blank character. While that's great for building your own character it hurts the narrative of New Dawn. The Deputy has 0 past, speaks 0 words, but still manages to have more of an impact on the world than the Captain.

635-637: "The Fateful Reunion! Bellamy the Hyena!", "A Super Rookie! Bartolomeo the Cannibal!" and "Big Names Duke it Out! The Heated Block B Battle!"
Tumblr media
Luffy’s entire experience of Dressrosa so far.
If I had two words to sum up these episodes, they would be: new characters.
New characters everywhere.
And, if @mrkashkiet is right, some of them should not be immediately written off as battle fodder. I have done my best to keep track of all the new names  and faces (let’s face it, Dressrosa has not yet descended into HxH War of Succession level madness).
But I think I have a better handle on the competitors now. Who knew paying close attention would work wonders?
Oh, and I forgot to mention that the influx of new characters is not limited to the Colosseum.
Trafalgar Law: Supplier of Tea and Shade
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes.
It is the return of Cipher Pol. Except this time, the World Government have unleashed the Big Guns.
The Caesar Handover Team (Law, Robin, Usopp and Caesar) had camped at a pavement cafe near the Long Bridge they must cross to reach Green Bit. They were indulging in a bit of recon because the bridge, to put it mildly, was in a state of disrepair.
A rickey, rusting wreck is what I want to say.
A conveniently chatty waiter was only too happy to furnish them with intel. Apparently, people used to freely cross the bridge two-hundred years ago, but an influx of fighting fish ruined everything. The people tried to reinforce the bridge with iron but it never worked. Yes, people still try to cross. The waiter himself knew people who’d made the attempt. But no one ever came back. (I bet the Smile factory is on Green Bit.)
Caesar and Usopp were not keen on making the crossing. Law told them to pipe down and pulled the “we’re here now, anyway” card. The lack of unrest in Dressrosa was what worried Law. (Sanji noticed that too.) Their king had abdicated suddenly. Why was everyone so calm?
Then something awesome happened.
Robin saw something out the corner of her eye. She cringed, pulled her hat down further over her face. Caesar caught on too.
Three sinister, white-robed, masked people walked down the street like ghosts. They were heading in the direction of the bridge.
It was CP0. According to Robin, they are even deadlier that CP9 and are charged with only the highest level intelligence missions. “When they’re on the move,” Robin said, “nothing good happens.”
Except plot, Robin. Good plot happens.
I mean, come on! First Fujitora is hanging about, supposedly to deal with all the pirates in the Colosseum. Now CP0 have crawled out of the woodwork but they are lurking about the bridge. They are all in on something. They must know or suspect something is going on in Dressrosa. I’ll bet they have intel Luffy and Law don’t.
I wonder if Fujitora wants Luffy to draw out Doflamingo (or at least the proof something is going on). He definitely knows Luffy is behind the beard and he let Luffy go. Why? The plot chickenz.
Zoro , Sanji and Kinemon: Technically All Chasing After Precious Things
Tumblr media
Elsewhere on Dressrosa, Zoro, Sanji and Kinemon have all gone their separate, chaotic ways.
Zoro has finally laid hands on Shusui again, but - and I cannot believe I am saying this - a small, thieving, invisible creature *was* behind the disappearance of Zoro’s belongings. And they referred to Zoro as a “human”, which means... I mean, are we really talking fairies here? Why do they need to steal stuff? Are they raising funds for Doflamingo? I have no idea what’s going on.  I am at the point of tin-foil hat speculation so I’ll quit before the hat is fully on.
Sanji managed to take out a sniper sixteen metres above ground with one kick. Why the need for a sniper kicking spree? He was being targeted while walking with Violet. I am still suspicious of her. I think she’s in on the whole thing and she is only just beginning to realise that, uh oh, she’s snared a really strong fighter, how do we get out of this one?
Also, Kinemon found himself surrounded by chuckling thugs who threw Kanjuuro’s location in his face. They recognised him by the “top-knot-shaped hat” (lmao). There was a, “If you don’t cooperate, we will kill you and your friend,” moment. Not super interested in this plot point, but looking forward to seeing how Oda weaves it into the wider storyline.
Meanwhile, on The Event Horizon Sunny...
Tumblr media
A portal has opened to another dimension.
In the grand scheme of things, everyone who went to Dressrosa got the better end of the bargain because this... this is some weird shit.
(Plus, there was another Momonosuke clue. While Momo was playing at being shogun (and Brook refused, saying he “Only takes orders from Luffy-san”) Dr Chopper observed Momo’s behaviour. Apparently, Momo is putting up a good front, disguising some sort of trauma. What happened to him a Punk Hazard could be a good bet. Maybe there was something else we didn’t get to see.)
Bellamy Is A New Man! Sort of...
Tumblr media
Back at the Colosseum, the main event was underway: Block B’s battle! We still haven’t reached the end of it yet but that’s because a lot was happening backstage.
The action picked up where it left off. Luffy’s reunion with Bellamy did not go quite as I expected - in a good way. A lot has happened since Luffy kicked Bellamy’s ass at Jaya. For one, after ridiculing Luffy for his ambition to visit Skypeia, Bellamy made his own trip. He lost his crew in the attempt (I think?) but brought back a huge golden souvenir, which he presented to Doflamingo.
I didn’t quite understand his connection with Doflamingo before. I figured he was part of Doflamingo’s crew and worked exclusively for him. But it turns out Bellamy had his own crew? Maybe they were allied with/working for Doflamingo?
At any rate, since he returned from Skypeia, Bellamy has become a changed man. He has obsessively worked for Doflamingo - who was Bellamy’s pirate hero since he was a kid - in hopes of being promoted to an executive post in the Donquixote family.
That is why he entered the Battle Royale. Not to win the Mera Mera fruit, but for a promotion.
I have the funniest feeling he won’t be getting it.
His spring power is cool, though. Luffy was right. He’s definitely become stronger. The way he took out Abdullah and Jeet was pretty stylish. I also like the character development Bellamy has undergone. Oda has morphed him from a loathsome, one-dimensional mook into someone with ambition who will do anything to achieve his goals. Nice.
Bartolomeo
Tumblr media
Now, this guy was a surprise.
When Oda introduced Maynard last episode, I never thought for a minute that the badass Marine who held a knife to a pirate’s throat and took him out so easily would become instant fodder in the very next installment.
That’ll teach me for trying to predict Oda’s intentions.
Bartolomeo acts like an Edgy Edgerson (that’s a bit of an understatement, to be honest) but he does look out for his crew, as all good captains should. The guy who was murked last time by Maynard was part of his crew. Unfortunately for Maynard, Bartolomeo is the revenge type. Maynard was left crumpled in a bloody heap. It was interesting that Maynard had planned to take part in the competition. Was it for intel or were the Marines seriously thinking they were in with a shot at the Mera Mera fruit?
Bartolomeo is also one of the rookies Cavendish loathes. When the commentator introduced him, we learned it only took Bartolomeo a year to become (in)famous in the New World. Apparently, he roasted a crew of pirates and broadcast the footage and bombed some innocent civilians. As you do. He also won the coveted spot of #1 Most Annoying Pirate Who Should Just Go Away (lmao).
This was backed up by the crowd. They booed him like a pantomime villain and pelted him with trash. The bomb prank did nothing to salvage the tatters of his public image. Even Dagama was like, “They hate you so much, brat.”
But Bartolomeo didn’t care. He is super edgy. “Don’t even want them to like me.” (If he met Eustass Kidd, the amount of Edge would reach critical mass and cause some sort of singularity).
I have the feeling Bartolomeo will win this fight.
Why?
He has barely lifted a finger the entire time. When the gong was struck, he lay down like Slaking, took a nap. Then he woke up, pissed in the moat (lmao) and somehow took out Hack the Fishman Karate Master with little effort. He must be a fruit user. I wonder what his power is?
It’s testament to how One Piece stretches the limits of your morality when you find yourself laughing and cheering for a guy who literally roasted his rivals and broadcast the footage over the OP equivalent of YouTube.
And the Award for Most Hostile Leading Question Goes To...
Tumblr media
While the fighting was underway, Luffy and Cavendish watched from a balcony. Cavendish gave Lucy the low-down on who the most likely winners would be. Apart from Bartolomeo and Bellamy, there was Elizabello II, his tactician Dagama, Ricky (a mysterious Gladiator), Blue Gilly from the Longarm Tribe, Tank Lepant of Dressrosa, Abdullah and Jeet, and Hack (a Fishman Karate specialist and fan of Jimbei).
Elizabello II, Dagama and Tank teamed up with a cadre of random fodders to protect Elizabello. It turns out Liz has a King’s Punch ability that can take out entire fortresses. The only thing is, it takes ages for it to power up and he can only use it once a day. They must want the Mera Mera Fruit badly, as the restrictions of the King Punch make it pretty damned useless in this context. Even if he did get through to the next round, he might be one-on-one against Jesus Burgess. Burgess does not need to wait an hour to power up a punch. Even if it’s four fighters all in the ring together (I bet Luffy will team up with Rebecca), I don’t see Burgess helping him out.
Blue Gilly is a kick fighter with oddly hypnotic knee pads.
Ricky is a mystery. He is a gladiator other fighters have never seen but some random in the crowd claims he might have once - a warrior who fought with no shield.
The Middle Eastern trope fighters Abdullah and Jeet were taken out by Bellamy, Hack was defeated by Bartolomeo.
All very exciting. I love a Battle Royale.
But most of the action was taking place backstage.
While Luffy and Cavendish watched the battle, a hulking, craggy, mountainous figure approached. I knew he was big because Toei had given him the “Big Guy Clown Shoes” sound effect they use for guys like Moria and Kuma. He had the number 12 tattooed on his forehead. It was Don Chinjao.
He stood beside Luffy and Cavendish and said, “Hey, lovely view we’ve got here. Btw, how is Garp-san doing?”
Luffy, the honest soul, never saw the trap coming. “You know grandpa?”
Uh oh.
Well, the situation escalated hilariously quickly after that.
“Garp was like a real demon to us pirates back then. My wound still hasn’t healed, you know. I need you to pay for what your grandpa did to me. If I’d heard about Garp’s son, Dragon, sooner, you would never have been born.”
Ooft. That’s a heavy grudge.
Of course, Cavendish was like, “WHAT? YOU ARE LUFFY!”
And poor Luffy was still desperately clinging to his Lucy disguise, wondering why everyone was blaming him for things that really were not his fault. “no, really, i misheard. i am lucy, honest.”
“YOU DON’T MISHEAR YOUR OWN NAME!!”
Now both Cavendish and Don Chinjao were steamed. They ended up in a skirmish where Cavendish’s Shiny Sparkly Sword, Durandal, was shown off (to be fair, it does look awesome) and the endurance of Chinjao’s Mighty Skull was tested. Neither were going all out, which was nice.
At any rate, Luffy is now hanging from a window ledge. His promise to Franky is not working out well so far.

Ahhh, that was a good tinkle.

ADRIAN returns from a mission, but comes back very disturbed.
Adrian Price - me
-
-
James stood next to Cooper at the observation deck of the landing area where they both waited for Adrian and her team to get back. They were scheduled to return twelve hours ago but no one’s heard from them since. Everyone had been talking about it, even a couple of the higher ups. Adrian always had a reputation of being wild and reckless but she’d always come back from a mission on time. This was the first time she’s been more than a couple hours late.
“What do you think happened?” James quietly asked despite seeing how uncomfortable Cooper was.
Cooper let out a sigh and looked down at his feet. “... I don’t know. If Adrian was gonna be late in anyway, she’d tell me.” He turned to James, the worry on his face now evident. “She’d tell us.”
James nodded. He knew Cooper was right. With everything Adrian does that would to result into some kind of trouble, especially if it was something against company rules, she’d tell the both of them right away even if she wasn’t sure. It was unlikely of her not to tell them beforehand or even radio them if ever they were compromised.
“It’s them! Open up!”
All the yelling of the people down in the landing area caught James and Cooper’s attention. Suddenly, the roof parted to let in a chopper; Adrian’s team’s chopper. James and Cooper exchanged looks. They’re back.
The both of them ran as quick as they could down the steps even almost tripping on the way. They threw the door open, knocking over personnel, and ran over to the chopper to meet Adrian.
Meanwhile, Adrian hurried to escort the two injured soldiers that came with her. “Get them to the infirmary now. Their suits weren’t punctured. They just — They just need medical attention so get them the fuck out of here!”
“Price!” Cooper yelled while he and James pushed past everyone.
Without giving her a chance to say hi too, Cooper trapped her in a hug. It was so tight that Adrian almost couldn’t breath. James, meanwhile, just stood at the side but was relieved to see her back and safe too. She really did look like shit, in his opinion, but he wasn’t surprised considering the kind of shit out there she’s faced.
“H-Hey, Coop.” Adrian managed to mumble.
Cooper held her at arms length and left a kiss on her forehead. “H-Hey, how was the mission? You were supposed to come back twelve hours ago, but you didn’t and the news spread like wildfire that even the higher ups knew about it.”
The more Cooper talked, the tighter his grip became. Eventually, Adrian had had enough of his grip and chattering that she shoved him off.
“I-It was just a few complications we had to go through, alright?” she told him. “It was — It was shit, but — but I made it — we made it. Now just, please...”
Adrian tried taking a step closer to him, but because of that mission, she wasn’t in the best condition, and even James could see that. Just as her legs finally gave in, James took her by the arms and held her steady. He could tell she was that fatigued by how she focused almost all her weight on him. He scanned her beaten face. There were bruises, cuts, and even dried blood that was either hers on another’s. Whatever they faced out there wasn’t just physically tolling, but also mentally as it seemed. Her bloodshot eyes revealed everything.
“Lieutenants,” interrupted an infirmary nurse they only recognized. “I have orders to get Specialist Price to the infirmary as requested by Major Ferguson, so if you’d let me, I can get the specialist help.”
James and Cooper kinda blacked out when the nurse was talking, but soon, Adrian was taken away. It hurt Cooper to see her like that, and he wanted to know what happened, but he had a whole day mission ahead of him. He wouldn’t be able to asked what happened but maybe there was hope that she was gonna tell James.
———
“Specialist?” James lightly knocked on her room’s door.
It had been an entire morning ever since they got back and the doctors said that Adrian and the others were in tip top shape again. That’s when James decided to finally go see her. Truly, James didn’t expect an answer from Adrian when he knocked, but surprisingly, he got one.
“The mission went fine, James, fuck off!” Adrian harshly yelled from inside. Somehow, it was the kind of answer he was expecting.
James frowned, but he wasn’t giving up on her that easy. “I’m not going anywhere until you talk to me, Aid.” he said.
Adrian knew James was serious. He was really like that sometimes. From the inside, James heard shuffling and soon, the door hissed open. The room was dark, the lights were off. Adrian, who now stood by the door, one hand grasping the doorframe, shot James an irritated look.
“Look,” she began. “could you just go—?”
Just like Cooper had instructed him, James grabbed both of Adrian’s wrists and shoved her inside. Once they were in, the door automatically shut behind them. Adrian planted her foot on the ground behind her, but Cooper was smart enough to think of that beforehand, so James, as instructed again, swiped her feet causing her to fall over. However, though successfully, Adrian grabbed James’s own wrists and pulled him down with her. They landed on the floor next of each other with a thump and both let out pained groans.
“James, you motherfucker...”
“Cooper’s idea.”
The fall somehow impacted him more than expected but he was able to recover from it. James sat up in a daze and put a hand on his head. He then heard sniffling, muffled, but still sniffling nonetheless. Adrian was crying.
James panicked. He’d never know what to do if anyone were crying, especially someone like Adrian. He always thought that nothing could possibly faze her that much. She had her back pressed against the bed frame and her one knee bent where she rested her arm. She mumbling incoherent things, things that James couldn’t pick up. There were tears on her cheeks, yes, he could see them despite the minimal light in the room.
“H-Hey...” James mumbled as he scooted closer to her.
He sat down next to her, his legs folded up against his chest. He didn’t say anything else after that, but it wasn’t as if he knew what else to say. The lieutenant just sat there patiently. At this point in time, he knew Adrian had to open up and he knew he shouldn’t rush her, so they just sat there in silence.
“... I almost shot myself because of those fucking Rippers...” Adrian finally spoke.
James perked his head. He was glad she was finally talking, but he was confused. “... Rippers?”
“The Rippers are assholes, that’s what they are.” Adrian ran a hand from her eyes down to her mouth. James could now properly see her glossy tear-filled eyes. “They... worship the freaks and think that everyone should be like them, but if anyone tries to oppose them, they kill them off.” Adrian mumbled the last part, but James still heard. “They actually hate me which is a plus, and for as long as I can remember, they’ve been trying to kill me.”
Adrian breathed to calm herself and catch her own breath. The thoughts running through her head, reliving the memories just to tell them was taking a serious toll on her. James gently rubbed her back to help with the panic and luckily it was helping.
“We we’re ambushed on our way back.” she said, finally sounding like herself. “The Rippers were waiting for us by the LZ and holy fuck, did they put up a fight.” She sniffled and wiped her nose with the back of her hand before continuing. “They brought us back to their fucking... base, or something, and that’s where we made a deal. It was either Benjamin and Juniper, or me. Either of us had to die, or all of us die.”
“And... you chose to sacrifice yourself for their sake?”
Again, the stress of the event was building up. The panic, the fear, the stress — everything was coming back to her. James could even feel her trembling under his hand now. He hugged her — tight. He made sure to let Adrian know that she was safe and that whatever happened was over and that she was sad. He knows what it’s like to be scared out of your mind, and he sure as hell knows that whatever scared Adrian wasn’t comparable to anything he’s ever seen, and that thought scared him too.
Adrian fully accepted James’s embrace and held onto him just as tight. “You don’t know h-how terrifying it is to — to point a gun at yourself with others expecting you to pull the trigger because they want you dead and—”
“You don’t have to tell me everything, Aid.” he cooed and caressed her hair. “It’s alright. Trust me. It’s alright.”
“I had to, James.” she whimpered and buried her face into his chest. “They were gonna kill Benjamin and Juniper, and — and I just can’t have anyone else’s blood on my hands.”
“Whatever happened’s over, okay?” he reassured her and rested his chin on her head. “You all made it back in one piece, and that’s all that matters. Those — Those Rippers? You’ll get them someday. I just know it.”
“... hoping that NERO doesn’t get rid of me first...”
James tipped his head to the side and sighed. Another one of Adrian’s issues was worrying that the higher ups would soon lose interest of her and have her terminated. Now that he thought about it, Adrian had a lot to be worrying about while she worked as a specialist of NERO despite her trying to hide it in her wild and reckless behavior.
He sighed. “Hoping that NERO doesn’t get rid of you first...”

My Reaction to “Gotham” S5E1
LADIES AND GENTLE-PEOPLE, IT HAS ARRIVED!
We have waited almost 2/3 of a year for the final season to start airing.  Cue a sigh of relief from the eager audience.
I was a lucky son of a duck and managed to get this reaction while the episode was airing live on FOX.  This will hopefully also happen for the next episode but for episodes 3-12, I will be waiting for Hulu to receive because of an upcoming spring semester at college.  So for episodes 3-12, I will be in the dark until Friday or Saturday (so no spoilers from y’all).
AN:  I managed to record my reactions to this episode and hopefully I can transcribe what I said into this post.   Also my youngest brother stepped in for a spell, so some of his comments are included.
Oooohhhhh, here we go.
*jaw utterly drops at the time card showing up*
*claps excitedly and snaps fingers toward my sister when “We’ll Meet Again” by Vera Lynn starts playing*
391?  Wait, is this a flash forward?!?
*crosses arms in anticipation*
*Oswald’s men give him his red sunglasses*  Yesss!!
*chuckles*  Harvey!  Choose your best beer to go to battle with.  Yes!
*Jim suits up*  Yee-eesss!
*leans forward and covers mouth in shock when Jim, Harvey, Oswald, and Ed walk to battle together*
Oh my God...
“For Gotham.”  :O
*puts hands on head in shock*  Oh my God, we’re opening with that-
*Opening title*  OH MY GOD!
*jaw drops in shock when Oswald tests one of the guns from the factory*
*Scarecrow and his men crucify a man*  :O
“And to date, there have no confirmed sightings of Jeremiah Valeska.”  *smiles*
“No one is allowed in or out of Gotham.”  My brother, who has never seen this show before:  Wait, so if all power is down and no one can leave... so like, how do they go pee?
Me:  Outside?  Yeah, that’s a good question.  They probably just revert back to the 1920s:  they just pee or whatever and throw it outside.
My brother:  (whispers) OMINOUS RADIO STATIC
Me:  *cackles*
*Jim Gordon appears*  My brother:  Look, it’s Batman.
Me:  He [Ben McKenzie] did play Batman in one movie.
“Say it walking, putz.”  *chuckles*
“What did the Department of Douchebaggery say?”  *snorts*
*chuckles when we first meet Ed, who is sleeping on a couch*
Oh, I want that dog.
He [Ed] looks terrible.  That’s like if Count Olaf dyed his hair black and just wet it down.
“What is he [Ed] doing?”  What’s your hair doing?
My brother:  Dye-ing inside?
“[Jim] You know you can get someone else to turn on the spotlight?”  “I like doing it.”  *smiles*
“The doctors say Selina’s situation is getting worse.”  *covers mouth*
“Are you [Bruce] sorry you stayed?” No.
“No.  You [Jim]?”  “Hell no.”  *grins*
“Tabby’s still --- after Penguin murdered Butch right in front of her, so it’ll have to be two thousands rounds.”  *grins*
*smiles when Barbara calls Tabitha “honey”*
“He’s [Oswald] gonna regret giving me [Tabitha] this [bullet].”  *silently*  Ooohhh...
*One of the officers at the border sees a shadow*  Man-Bat?
*gets spooked by Scarecrow’s jump scare*
*jaw drops in horror when the fear toxin starts working on the officer*
“See?  Ship shape and in Bristol fashion.”  *smiles*
“Lucius gave me [Bruce] something better.”  Night vision goggles?
*gasps when Scarecrow goes after Jim in the basement*
*laughing*  He’s [Jim] gonna beat him [Scarecrow] with a rod?!?
“Fear lives in darkness.”  My brother:  Apparently, he’s [Scarecrow] never seen Bird Box.
*jaw drops when Jim and Scarecrow fight*
*gasps when one of the gas pipes burst*
Oh that was cool.
“...they got the beans.”  *chuckles*
The one thing he’s [Harvey] upset about:  they got his beans.
*Bruce starts taking down Scarecrow’s goons one by one*  Oooohhhhhh hooooo....
“Scag?”  Scag?!?
HOW IS HE [Bruce] UP THERE?!?!?
*jaw drops when the lights abruptly turn back on*
My brother:  You have to understand, that dude’s [Bruce] blind now.  If he has true night vision goggles and the lights come on, you’re blind for at least like an hour now.
I forget that Jonathan’s a teenager in this show...
The cinematography so far is... awesome.
*during the commercials*  Oh my gosh, for the next ten episodes after this, I won’t be able to breathe like this.
“Tell them help is coming.  I’ll [Bruce] fly in supplies.”  Wha-
I like that they’ve already just acknowledged the fact that Bruce just does all these Stealth Hi-Byes whenever.
Even Lucius is like “Oh, helloooo...”
God, Bruce, oh my God... everyone’s just been through [the banger]...
“Doc says the surgery was a success.”  Yay!
“My [Selina’s] spine’s not gonna turn into jelly.”  *lifts hands in air and sighs in relief*  Yes!
“Still will never be able to walk again so-”  No.
“You know what’s funny?  Jeremiah shot me [Selina] to get to you [Bruce].”  *rolls eyes in frustration*
“After all the things I’ve done, what took me in was being your friend.”  We’re not doing this.
“I just wish Jeremiah killed me.”  We’re not doing this.  John Stephens, how dare you.
“Doctors can’t help her [Selina].  She needs the witch.”  Who the hell are you?!?
Who’s that lady?!?
Oh my God, are Oswald’s men gonna shoot down the chopper?
*One of the factory workers helps Oswald adjust his leg brace*  There we go.
*Oswald starts eating a fancy dinner at his desk*  Oh my God.
“OVERCOOKED!”  *just hopelessly shrugs*
[Edward the Bulldog] *gasps loudly and puts hands on head*  OH MY GODD!!
OH MY GOD!  DOG!  DOG DOG DOG!
*Oswald’s gun misfires*  Wha-
*Oswald hears the chopper*  Oh my God, he’s gonna shoot down the chopper!
Selina’s gonna end up like Tabitha once we get into the Batman era.
“Is that a chopper?”  Oh my God, everybody’s gonna be clamoring for that!
*The chopper gets shot down*  Called it!
Lo Boyz?  Wait, so if there’s like a Day of the Dead area, is there a Chinatown in Gotham?
AN:  Yes there is.
Alfred!
“Just keep an eye on things while I’m [Jim] gone.”  You’re gonna leave Alfred in charge of the GCPD?  The AU that could’ve been!
*A car comes into the wreck zone*  Oh no, it’s Oswald.
*gasps when Oswald’s men shoot the Lo Boyz at the crashed chopper*
“It is so good to see you, old friend [Jim].”  Why do you [Oswald] keep calling him that?!?
Who shot down the chopper?  Oh my God, did Tabitha shoot down the chopper?
Oh my God, Tabitha shot down the chopper to get to Oswald.  WHY?!?
*Tabitha holds Oswald in a choke hold*  Oh my God!
“I [Oswald] may have pulled the trigger, but you [Tabitha] killed Butch.”  *WTF*
*jaw drops in shock when Tabitha’s gun misfires*
*reels back in horror when Oswald stabs Tabitha to death*
*covers mouth in shock*
*keels over when commercials roll*
*to my dad, who just strolled in*  Congratulations Dad, you just witnessed a major character death!
My dad:  But is she really dead though?
Me:  Don’t do this to me.
*Camera focuses on dead Tabitha*  Oh my God...
*jaw drops when Barbara starts a shootout*
“Uh-oh, it sounds a little quiet over there!”  *laughs*
*utterly elated when Bruce fights his way to Oswald’s ammunition van*
*gasps when Oswald tags Barbara in the shoulder*
“I [Harvey] could kiss you, kid [Bruce].”  *chuckles*
“I WILL RIP OUT YOUR HEART!”  :O
“Can we [Oswald and Barbara] move past this?”  No!
*gasps in horror when Oswald pistol whips Barbara across the face*
*jaw drops and covers mouth in shock when Jim shoots Oswald’s bad leg*
I was a big time crime lord, and then I took a bullet to the knee.
*gasps and reels back*  THAT’S ECCO!
Oh, her jacket’s awesome!
“We want you to know that you have allies across the river.  We will find a way to help you.”  “Who are you?”  Who the frick are you?
*gasps very softly when Jim finds his map of No Man’s Land covered in the cult graffiti*
Also, come on, Jeremiah, (claps with each word) do something original!  Why are we reusing the cult imagery?
Oh my God, please don’t tell me that was the end of the episode.
Also, holy crap, Ecco grew out her hair in 87 days!  No wonder she’s able to get it all poofy and everything.
Yeah, if Season 5 is gonna do what I think it’s gonna do and just have back-to-back plot threads/events, this might be my favorite season.
Oh wait, that wasn’t the end?!?
Please tell it’s Ed in the dumpster, please tell me it’s Ed in the dumpster.
*lifts hands in air when Ed wakes up in his dumpster*  Yeesss!!
At least he has his hat...
Ooooohhh the Riddler theme kicking in...
“What is happening to me [Ed]?”  Amnesia?  Narcolepsy?
*Barbara gives Tabitha one final kiss*  I am actually... sad.
*reels back in shock when the workers try to get the bullets out of Oswald’s leg*
Oh my God, they don’t have anesthesia!  Because of provisions!
Seriously, who is this lady [the nurse in the clinic]?  Is she an agent?
*Selina eyes the scalpel on the cart*  Selina, you cannot get up.
*jaw drops in horror when the doctors have to knock out Selina*
Oh my God...
“She was trying to kill herself.”  *sits back and puts hands on head*
“I [the nurse] told you [Bruce], if you wanna cure her [Selina] , you have to go to the witch.”  Who is this lady?
AN:  If she’s the “real Harleen Quinzel,” Imma fight some writers.
“Where do I find this witch?”  It’s Ivy!
*gasps when one of the officers brings a battered kid to Gordon*
Whaaa...
*laughs and reels back*  Oh my- that’s the end of the episode!
I love this ending logo!
*pretty much freaking loses it at the season promo during the credits*
*has to walk around room to calm down*  Well that happened.

PHYRE
"Integra!!!!!!!"
My footsteps were loud enough to be mistaken for a stampede. But you know what? I didn't fucking care!
As I passed by a room, it's door flew open with Seras hesitantly poking her head out. "Huh? Phyre?"
She glanced down at the trail of water that had lead to the bathroom and furrowed her brows. "Um...Phyre what's..."
"Integra!! I am going to kill you!"
I passed by Walter, who was looking at me with wide eyes, while mine were blazed with rage and focused on the door a couple feet from me. "Miss Laurifer, perhaps you should-"
"Shut it, Walter!"
"I don't believe that is proper attire-"
"I said shut it! Integra!"
I swear I have never kicked a door so hard before, especially barefoot. "You. Are. Dead."
She was already sitting back, her legs crossed over the desk, her chair positioned towards me with a small smirk on her face. "Oh, was there something you needed?"
Oh, well a machine gun would be lovely right now.
My jaw clenched. "That was not funny, Integra."
She pretended to think for a second. "Whatever do you mean?"
I'm pretty sure my fists were turning white by this point.
She then looked over my appearance. At my dripping wet red hair strands, fresh fair skin still glistening with water, magenta eyes that were darker than usual, and finally at the towel wrapped around my chest and waist.
Her smirk stretched further. "You must be cold, getting a breeze like that. Where on earth are your clothes?"
I angrily wrapped the towel tighter around me and stomped forward. "We are not 12 anymore, enough with these childish games! Where are my clothes? This is not funny!"
She hummed, then stood up and crossed her arms. "You are right, it isn't funny." She looked at me with a wide smirk. "It is hilarious."
I felt a deep growl erupt in my throat. "Integra..."
"Enough with the growling, you are not an animal. Doesn't this remind you of something? An event like this, only one that had a long-lasting outcome?" Her eyes narrowed. "An event that ended with an ambulance and crutches."
The force of my heavy sigh made my head throwback. "That's what this is about? We were 12!"
"And you left me with pink hair, crutches, and an empty fridge!"
"I was hungry! I didn't know if the Cathedral had anything besides bread and fish! I didn't want to starve!"
She sighed and turned away. "Well, consider this me getting us even."
My eyes widened out of anger. "Even?! How does putting butter on the floor of my bathroom and stealing my clothes while I am showering make us even?"
She slightly turned to look at me and shrugged. "I can't explain it if you refuse to listen."
What. The. Hell.
"You-"
*beep* 'Sir Integra. We've received word of a vampire attack in Northern Ireland. He is currently hiding within an abandoned hospital in Badrick, Ireland. He has a reported hoard of ghouls on each floor.'
Integra's smirk dropped as she pressed the button on the machine. "Prepare a chopper for Badrick immediately!"
'Yes, Sir Integra.'
She quickly opened one of the drawers of her desk and rummaged through it, before throwing me its contents. I caught the articles of clothing and looked down at them, then up at her.
She had that serious business look on her face. "Get dressed. Now. You're leaving for Badrick in 5."
°°°
THIRD PERSON
Spreading sunrise, pinkish glow, clouds tinted, colors spread across the sky announcing the new day, oranges and reds painted across the clouds as if by a celestial hand. The morning shined down and in the middle of the grassland stood a church orphanage.
"Get back here!" A little girl yelled as she chased one of the other children.
"You can't catch me!" The boy yelled and stuck his tongue out at the girl.
They both ceased their running and froze at the man that stood in front of them, with his hands behind his back.
"Now both of you stop that! There’s no fighting between friends! How do you expect to go to heaven acting like that?"
The boy lowered his head. "Sorry, Father…"
The man dropped his head with a sigh, then looked back up at them with a smile. "Listen. Violence is never the right answer. Except, when used against heathens and monsters." He then caught sight of one of the church's priests walking towards them. "Hm…" He looked back down at the children. "Alright, I want both of you to run straight up to your rooms."
The girl nodded. "Yes, Father. Come on!" She ran off with the boy chasing after her.
The man turned and started to walk away as the priest followed. "To what do I owe this visit? What happened?"
The priest ceased his steps. "I’m afraid we’ve been hearing a lot of bad news lately. They are coming from England."
The man put a hand on his shoulder and stopped to turn around and look at him. "Yeah, they’re working hard to keep everything quiet."
The priest stepped closer. "Yeah…Vampires. There've recently been multiple vampire attacks within their borders. Far too many to be pure coincidence."
The man grinned with a shrug. "Well, nothing wrong with that, is there? If a vampire wants to use some Protestants, how is it our business?"
The priest narrowed his eyes. "But there is more…Hellsing. They are a problem. They’ve been holding a stronger front than we expected. Keeping damage to a minimum."
The man's grin remained as he kept his eyes on him and looked to the side. "They’re nothing but amateurs. Hellsing is practically a kindergarten compared to us."
He turned and got closer to his face with his grin still plastered. "The Catholics…The Vatican…And the Iscariot. We were fighting against the forces of darkness centuries before the Hellsing organization even existed."
His grin fell. "So, why are you here? If all the troubles are over in England, then surely the English can take care of it on their own."
"But it’s not only in England."
His eyes widened. "What?"
"There has been an attack in Ireland. Northern Ireland. A little town called Badrick. Hellsing is on the move. And we will not just sit back and watch." The priest resumed his steps and walked passed him.
A smirk crawled up the man's face. "The Nerve of 'em. Sneaking around where they're not wanted like they belong here. These fools are shameless and presumptuous as ever!"
The priest halted his steps. "But that's not all."
The man looked back at him over his shoulder.
"There has been talk, but we've not said a word until confirmed. But now, it has been. While on patrol, Miss Phyronela Manchester was taken by Hellsing, orders from their leader. She is being forced to work for them."
The man's smirk dropped. "Phyronela? You mean as in..."
The priest looked back at him with a small nod, making the man's eyes widen again. "How dare they take the Church's most prized possession and corrupt it as their own!"
The priest's eyes narrowed as he looked into the distance. "We will teach them to know their place, Anderson. They take our children. They tread on Catholic land. This vampire is ours to destroy. And Miss Phyronela is our property to have. We want you to deal with this before they do."
He grinned. "And if I should run into the agent of Hellsing?"
The priest looked back at him. "Just remember. We are part of God’s divine instrument on earth. We do not retreat when we are challenged by heretics."
The man's grin widened. "If anyone does not love Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed that he is coming. God save you from your fate, Amen."

Drabble- Mystery Solved
Royai and Gracia/Hughes.    Little drabble inspired by my annoyance at all the crime procedural shows killing women every episode despite statistics saying 90% of homicide victims are male.  Got a little long.   Was going to make this another AU but I really don’t need another one of those.
xxxxxxxxxxxx
“Roy, I think...I've found a pattern.”
“For a man who can't wait to get home to his family, you work an awful lot when you get home.”
Maes Hughes did feel bad about calling Roy at home after they worked a double shift.   Roy had his own wife he wanted to spend time with and Maes hated taking him away from that.  Especially when he suspected Roy and Riza might be trying to start a family.  Then again, maybe he was also hoping he might overhear Riza say something to get her husband of f the phone and confirm that suspicion.  “Gracia is giving Elicia a bath and I just thought of something....”
“Hughes.   We'll be back to work tomorrow.   It can wait.  Get some sleep.”
Roy was curt.   Tired.  Probably interested in going to bed himself and making some little Mustangs, however this wasn't going to wait.  As much as it pained him to tear his best friend away from something really important like making babies, he had to share this revelation.  “I can't Roy.  I've figured it all out.  These murders in Central, it's not about the murderers we're looking for it's about the murders we're not dealing with.”
“God Hughes, sixteen hours of looking at this has really had an adverse effect on you. It's not about the killers but the lack of people being killed!  Go...to..bed! ”
“Roy, I'm looking at the map again with clearer eyes.”  Maes said and ran his hand over the map of Central City they had stared at all day in the office.   All day, everyday,  for months trying to figure out why the murderers they were hunting down were suddenly no longer killing.  Why bodies turning up were actually not victims but a criminal who had yet to be caught.   Why it seemed like they had less victims and more justice being served.
“Yes.  A vigilante.  We talked about that already.”
Maes smiled as he looked at the circles he had drawn in the areas where crime rates were the highest.  Marks where they had found bodies of killers like Barry the Chopper, the Slicer Brothers, Bald and Lady Dante  Areas that they knew were the killing grounds but they didn't know how to catch the killer.   “No, a vigilante would stop crimes in the process of being committed.   There would be witnesses.  There would be a potential victim.   We have someone deliberately putting themselves in harms way, dangling themselves as bait, in order to be the victim.   No witnesses because the victim is the one saving themselves!”
“That would imply that there is someone with enough skill to put themselves in that position knowing they would win.  Someone who doesn't care about taking a life.”
“Someone who has information about these killer and the areas they work.” Hughes said and laughed as he cracked the case they had been trying to solve for months.  “We work with the killer!”
“It's probably Havoc's girlfriend. He has the worst luck with women.”
Hughes was so excited he didn't realize Roy wasn't on the other end of the phone anymore. “Roy, we know the person who is murdering these people.  Shit.  The answer has been right in front of our faces all along!”
“Oh Maes, I wish you weren't so damned good at your job.”
Hughes turned around as the voice came from the doorway to his study.   It was then that he realized the phone had been unplugged and the cord was in an all too familiar hand.
Xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Roy was not a good driver and he was even worse when he was in a panic and rushing to his best friends house fearing that he had been killed.   It's why he let his wife take the keys and drive for him. That was how he would report this event, not that he rushed out the door, barely getting his coat on and dropping his gun and keys in the process and his wife grabbed the keys and refused to let him drive.  He was grateful, as Riza was keeping them and the people on the roadway safe, but it was costing them time.  “Just drive on the sidewalk, they'll get out of the way!”
Riza slapped his hand off the steering wheel as he attempted to grab it.   “NO.”
“Maes is in danger!”
“And you won't do him any good if you get in an accident!”  Riza snapped back.   “Let me drive!”
“Cut through the park!”
“Stop telling me how to get to their house!”  Riza hissed and turned into an alley and sped up, knowing exactly how to get around traffic without destroying city property or running over pedestrians.     “If something happened it already happened and you know it!”
Roy fell silent and just waited for her to make it to Mayflower Court, even if she chose to drive through some rich couple's yard in order to get there faster.   It's why he loved her.    She was practical and kept her focus when things went to hell.  He got emotional and that wouldn't help.     He tried to remember that as they arrived at the Hughes's home and he jumped out of the car before it stopped.  Then he ran to the front door and tried the doorknob, gun out and ready and was surprised when it was open.  He burst in, gun ready and was shocked to see Maes sitting on the couch with Gracia and...tea cups on the way around the coffee table for two more guests.  “What the....”
Maes waited, Riza was right behind her husband and he watched the reaction on her face as she looked at Gracia.   He couldn't believe it was true.   “Fuck.”
Roy put his gun down.  He knew from the look on Maes's face that something happened, something was still happening.   So he stepped inside and Riza followed him and closed the door.  He looked at his best friend and said, “Hughes....”
“So I was right.”  Maes said and watched Gracia pour the tea.  “Someone has been deliberately putting themselves in harms way to catch these killers.  Someone with the skill-set to take some murderer down.  Someone with the inside information to know exactly what they are looking for in a victim and where to find them.”
“Maes?”  Roy asked and watched him look over to Riza.  Roy did the same, not understanding what this was all about or why it involved his wife.  Riza, however, seemed to know.
“Someone with military training and fighting experience. “  Maes said and then looked to his own wife. “Someone with the information in her own home and years of training from her own husband on information gathering and intelligence tactics.  And someone who is disgusted with the  man's inability to not sin and destroy his fellow man.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”  Roy asked.
“Roy....”  Maes wet his lips.   “We left the people we love vulnerable and they were attacked.   Riza was attacked by Barry, Gracia was an identity theft victim and Solaris....she's been lusted after by so many damned men that she just lost faith in all of them.”
“Not Havoc.”  Gracia said and sat down.   “She loves Havoc and he is a good man.   However the rest of humanity....she's not impressed.”
Roy looked to Riza for an explanation. He was understanding what the Hugheses were talking about, but he wasn't comprehending it at all.  Gracia, Riza and Solaris had been this vigilante team the entire time?  They had the training, he didn't doubt their ability, but to outright kill someone instead of bringing them to justice?  No...that wasn't Riza.   “Why didn't you come to me?  It's my job...”
“You would have never let me be the bait.”  She replied.   “After Barry attacked me and I fought back, I realized I was well equipped to handle this situation.   Most people are not.  Unfortunately most of these killers don't surrender and the fights have ended up deadly.”
“Solaris isn't exactly giving anyone options.”  Gracia said.  “She set Barry up far an attack and enjoyed putting him down.”
“She's working through a lot of issues.”  Riza said and Roy looked so shocked, confused.  “The evidence that would have been required to shut down Lady Dante's operation....honestly I don't think with as well connected as she was that you would have been able to.  She would have walked way, disappeared and still be causing pain and death.”
“Riza, how many people have you killed?”   Roy asked and she looked at him with a sour look.
“Not as many innocents as I did when I was in uniform.” She said and saw his hurt look.   He didn't mean it that way and this was hardly the way she wanted him to find out.
“Wow.”   Roy said and mentally pictured the map that he and Maes had made with all the killers that had gone missing or turned up conveniently dead.   “Dare I ask who is the next target? Or do I just have to go to work tomorrow and find out the hard way?”
“Scar.”   Riza said and looked at him with the most sincere look.  “We have reason to believe he's targeting you.”
“Who are you working for?”  Roy asked.   He knew his wife and there was no way she would just turn vigilante like this.   She wouldn't just take things into her own hands, she thought too much of human life for that.   Havoc's girlfriend, yeah...she probably would shank someone for the hell of it.
“Your Mom.”  Riza said and Roy just took a deep breath and rubbed his eyes.   He knew Madam Christmas better than anyone and the woman was never going to retire from the intelligence community unless they were putting her in the ground.   Now it all made sense to him how he had missed all of it.
“How is this going to work?”” Hughes asked his wife.   “You're getting information from me.  Information on active cases I shouldn't be bringing home or talking about.”
“Once this serial killer epidemic is under control we'll go back to doing our normal jobs.”   Gracia said and took her husband's hand.
“Like being Moms?”  Hughes said and Gracia gave him that look that said, 'No, you idiot...I really do work for Madam Christmas's intelligence network that is funded by the government and doing a lot of shit I can't talk about without having you be a security risk'.
“My Mom has the ability to multitask.”  Roy said annoyed.  “I'm not that much of a baby that she needs to quit the job she's always had to keep after me.”
Hughes rolled his eyes and look at his best friend.  “I mean Riza.  I know you're trying to have kids.”
“We're what?”  Riza said and Roy looked at her with that look of innocence that said, 'No, love of my life...I really am not trying to pull anything to get you pregnant even if everyone we know is telling us non-stop we should start a family.  I just love to have sex with you and want to do it a lot because you're hot and I love you and no....no kids! Not yet!  Fuck. Why is he my best friend!?'.
“I heard you Roy.”  Hughes glared at him.   “Talking about how you can't wait to hold that adorable boy with his cute little face and soft black hair.   How you're going to play with him and not leave it up to Riza to take care of him when he wakes up during the night.”
“We're getting a puppy, you idiot.” Roy said.
“A Shiba Inu.”  Riza said.  “We picked him out and he's not old enough to come home with us yet.”
Maes forgot all about his wife being part of a crime fighting team of secret agents that works for Roy's Mom and kills serial killers.   Roy wasn't trying to make a kid.   He was....getting a dog? “A dog?”
“I'm going home.”  Roy said and turned to open the door for his wife.   “You two have a lot to talk about and I want to go to bed.   Clearly the city is in good hands and I'm glad you were right about all this and you're not dead.  See you in the morning.”
“A dog?”  Maes said and looked to Gracia.   His beautiful Gracia who only was more spectacular in the new light that was shone upon her.   “His cute little face and black hair.   He...is a dog?”
“He can still play with Elicia.” Gracia offered and Maes pouted.
Roy closed the door and looked at his wife who was awaiting some question or statement that would ease or confirm her fears.  “I love you Riza.   I don't want kids yet and I really admire the work you've done in saving lives in this city when I was too busy being wrapped up in red tape to do anything.   I also really love our special boy and I want to bring him home right now.”
“He's too young.”  Riza said and reached out and touched his handsome face.  Thankful her husband was not upset at her secret.   “Let's go home.”

Only you, can make this change in me...
The world is on fire again. Dark clouds of fire and ash cover the once green and vivid Earth. Hope’s nose is filled with the smell of burned flesh, human flesh, she thinks and she knows she’s right. Her friends, the people of Hope County are dead. And she stands on the pile of dead bodies, not even recognizing one of them as they melt in the fire. A fire that doesn’t affect her, which doesn’t hurt her. She shakes of fear and fury. But there are no screams, like last time, only an all too familiar song:
For it’s true, you are my destiny...
Then the dead bodies suddenly all stand on their feet. Looking at her, though their faces are melted and disfigured, she knows they are looking at her. All screaming silently, not making a noise, but a high pitch reaches her ears. Too high, too painful and she covers her ears with her hands, but to no vail, it doesn’t help. The music, the screams it’s all too much for her to take. Hope falls to the ground, but an even louder voice shakes her out of it:
“TRAIN! HUNT! KILL! SACRIFICE!” It’s Jacob Seed’s voice, and it repeats over and over and over again, getting louder than before and she can’t taki it anymore, she screams as well.
“Train! Hunt! Kill! Sacrifice!” She cries out, suddenly a gun in hand, killing the high pitch noise makers, every person getting a face as she shoots them.
Disfigured face, shoot, Dutch... Burned body, shoot, Sharky... Unknown bloody face, shoot, Earl... and it goes on again and again and again and she doesn’t stop even as tears fall down her face, knowing she’s killing her friends.
Then it stops, the high pitch, the music, everything. The ash falling from the skies stops as well. And then blackness comes to swallow her whole and Jacob Seed’s proud voice can be heard:
“Excellent.”
Tumblr media
Waking up on the bench of the church in Fall’s End is a lot better than waking up tied up to a chair. So Hope doesn’t complain as her muscles hurt, when she gets up from the furniture. Her muscles hurt all the time, she gets cuts and wounds every day, thanks to the fighting, so who cares anyway?
She’s covered in sweat, even though the church is quite cold. Her ears still hurt and she feels a liquid sliding down her earlobe. She touches it then moves her hand in front of here view. Blood. And as if she wasn’t panicking already, a cough comes from behind her, startling her.
She doesn’t think as she gets her pistol from her holster, turns around and shoots blindly. The sound of the gunshot echoing in the house of God scares her. Her own actions scare her. With wide eyes, panic creeping up on her she looks at Pastor Jerome, hands shaking, lowering her gun.
The man seems scared, but not hurt, as the bullet went past him and hit the walls instead of his flesh.
“Oh God! I’m.. I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry Jerome, are you okay?”
She puts down her pistol and stumbles as she gets near the man, the Pastor catching her by the arm.
“Yes, don’t worry, Deputy. Nothing bad happened, that’s what matters.” He says and then looks at the young woman’s bleeding ear, touching the still fresh blood. “Deputy, are you all right? You’re bleeding!”
She shakes her head. No, I’m not fucking all right. The she nods slowly, calming down, closing her eyes. She can’t mention her dream, or the real time she heard Jacob’s commands, could she now?
“I.. yeah, just hit it into the bench when I woke up from a nightmare.” She feels bad lying to the man.
He showed her nothing but kindness and comfort, and here she goes betraying him with her lies. Jerome seems to notice it too, the hurt in his eyes visible, but says nothing as he sighs and lets the girl go.
“Did you sleep in here?” He asks looking at the bench she was sitting on a couple of minutes prior to this moment.
“Yeah, I hope you don’t mind...” Hope starts and Jerome chuckles lightly, holding up his hands:
“Deputy, it’s alright. But you could have asked any of us, we surely would have found you a bed.”
She nods, then starts to walk out of the church:
“I just wanted a place to rest for the night, I still have lots of things to do in the Valley... I’ll talk to you later.”
Hope feels bad about leaving the man like that, but she can’t seem to handle people, not while her dream is still fresh in her mind. As he exits the church she bumps into Adam’s chest.
“Are you okay?” The man asks, looking down at her, it’s easy for everyone to tower over her small form.
“Yeah, why is everyone so interested how I’m doing today?!” She asks annoyed and goes on her way toward the chopper she landed yesterday night.
The chopper reminds her of John Seed and she groans out loud, not wanting to deal with the youngest Seed brother in her head right now.
“Wow, someone’s grumpy.” Adam chuckles as he follows her.
Hope enters the chopper and the gun for hire does the same, making the young woman annoyed again.
“Why are you following me?”
He raises an eyebrow and looks at the junior deputy weirdly:
“You didn’t call.”
She snorts as they take off from the ground, leaving Fall’s End behind as they move toward west.
“Yeah, that usually means that you don’t have to come and follow me. When I call you, you come. That’s how this works, asshole!”
The man rolls his eyes:
“Well yeah, we were worried about you. Liza called me to check up on you after yesterday, so I did.”
Hope frowns at that. Liza Evans, the woman who she considers as her friend, who tends to listen to all radio channels to help out the Resistance with all kinds of information called Adam. To check up on her... After yesterday’s events...
“Fuck...” She sighs out, knowing that the woman probably heard her conversation with John Seed.
“What happened yesterday?” Adam asks her.
So she didn’t tell him at least. Good...
“Nothing of your concern.”
Silence falls upon them and she feels like apologizing for being rude to the man, when he changes topics:
“Where are we going?”
They’re already near their destination as she answers him:
“To the Lamb of God church. A woman named Grace needs our help there.”
Tumblr media
Hope lands the chopper and exit it. Her rifle on her shoulder, pistol in holster and AR-C in hand. Adam holds his bow as they approach the church. Peggies are already outside, shooting at the belltower, where Hope spots a woman, Grace, probably.
The cultist don’t expect Adam and the Deputy so they fall to the ground dead pretty quickly.
“Hey, belltower!” Grace motions for them and Adam stays down the ground as Hope climbs the ladder on the side of the church.
The woman look at the sniper rifle on Hope’s shoulder and asks:
“How good of a shot are you?”
Hope smiles, remembering her longest shot to be about 150 meters:
“Not to brag, but pretty good.”
The woman scoffs, but smiles:
“Good... Name’s Grace. Got word soemone was out makin’ life miserable for the cult. You got good timing. See those graves down there?” She points at the cemetery of the church.
“Yup.”
“A couple war heroes buried here... My Pops is one of ‘em. The Peggies are trying to defile ‘em. They’re trying erase our history... demoralize us... get us to break so we’ll roll over. Huh, not on my fuckin’ watch. Ain’t nobody gonna touch my Pop’s grave while I’m still breathing. I’m a good shot, but I need someone to watch my back. They’re be here any second.”
“Alright, we’ll help you, don’t worry!” Hope takes her place on the roof, and tells Adam to get ready his pistol, if his bow won’t be that great against an ambush.
There’s no much time to prepare as the peggies are already on their way toward the mausoleums to destroy them. Grace wan’t kidding, she’s a good shot, as she takes out the peggies one by one. As some of them get closer they throw molotovs on the roof, Hope almost getting herself caught on fire. Sharky would love this... She thinks as she takes out the peggies that get too close to the graves.
“How pathetic are they, trying to destroy graves? Like, seriously? What is wrong with these people?” She shouts in between shots to Grace.
“Fuckin’ coward, that’s what they are. Don’t respect anyone, not even the dead.”
After firing up the guys with the flamethrowers and no more peggies are left alive Hope goes up to talk to the woman:
“Gotta admit, it would have been tough, without you... I owe you. Not a lot of people would have stuck their neck out like that.”
“That’s what I do.” Hope smiles at her, Grace returning a small smile.
“Means a lot to me. My pops always said, as long as we keep believin’ in each other, there’s still hope. If we stick together, look out for one another... Cult will never break us.”
Hope smiles, her anger from yesterday evening toward Dutch and the Resistance fading away. She had her doubts, she was angry that people kept acting like she was some soldier, just a tool for their cause. And here it is this woman, talking the truth. The reason why she keeps fighting and not just give up. People need to stick together.
“I ain’t about to get all sappy and shit, but if you ever need help, gimme a call. I got your back.”
“Thanks, I appreciate that. Right now I have that asshole over there with me though.” She motions to Adam with a teasing smile. “But I’ll call you, if we need help, keep safe.”
“Same goes to you, Deputy.”
They stay to loot the peggie corpses for useful stuff, as Dutch calls her. She feels ashamed after their yesterday fight, but the man sounds same as always.
“See you met Grace. Known her since she was a kid. Honest. Tough. Every bit the soldier her daddy was. Probably ten times the shot, too. She’ll watch your back when the shit hits the fan.”
The chopper got destroyed by the peggies while they were fighting - Thanks assholes - so Adam and her start walking. Adam being left behind a bit.
“Deputy.. not to be... a pain... in the ass... but... slow down?” Adam asks, breathing heavily.
Hope turns around, while walking backwards, still moving faster than the man, with a big grin on her face.
“Awwww, is our big grumpy man being tired? You wanted to come, so suck on that.” She laughs turning around.
“Seriously... gonna... pass out.”
Hope thinks he’s just being dramatic, but a big thud sound makes her turn around. Man on the ground she jogs up to him, crouching at the man’s side.
“Adam, you okay?” She asks, poking the man, who grunts in return, but unconscious.
“Great...” She scoffs, then sits beside him, dragging him off the road. They don’t want to get hit by a car or anything.
She’s waiting for the man to wake up, considering to call help after a few moments, when her radio crackles to life.
“Deputy... you’ve had your fun. But all sinners must confess. This is the will of the Father. My men are coming for you.” Wow, he sounds pissed, and I haven’t even done any big damage today. She wonders if the man remembers yesterday night as he finishes with: “I’ll see you soon.”
Why did that last sentence send chills down her spine? Why does she feel excited about this? Why did he sound so... sincere with the last sentence. Why, why, why... She doesn’t have much time to prepare as the search party comes for her.
Just as she starts shooting them down, getting her and Adam behind a tree, not wanting to get a bliss bullet yet again her radio crackles again:
“John is fucking determined to sink his hooks into you, Deputy.” Yeah, no shit! “I know you got out by the skin of your teeth last time, but don’t underestimate this bastard. Dutch out.”
And as the man says out, Hope gets a bullet into her leg. Same that got the arrow days ago.
“Oh for fuck’s...sake...” She says but feels dizzy as the white dots appear in front of her, and she’s soon out.
Tumblr media
Moaning into the blackness Hope feels like shit. Her leg hurts, her body hurts and weirdly enough she doesn’t feel the effect of the Bliss. How long has she been out, if it wear off?
“They put up a good fight.” An unfamiliar man’s voice can be heard and she wants to say ‘Shut up I’m sleeping’, but as she closes her eyes and catches a glimpse of the ceiling, she realizes she’s in a bunker. John’s bunker!
“Wake up, Sinner!”
“Fuck you...” She spits out, but is still feeling dizzy and sleepy, her body aching for going back to sleep.
“Be easier to just put a bullet in ‘em.” You did that, it hurt, you fucker...
“That is not the will of the Father.” She wants to say fuck your ‘Father’ but feels that would not be a smart move, also she can’t even speak straight, she can’t even see straight, just blurrs all over.
“Take them to John. He’s ready to hear their Confession.”
She kicks powerlessly at the man who grabs her hurting leg, and the pain sends her right back to sleep, with the knowing next time she’ll wake up, she’ll have to face John Seed.
Muffled screaming and metal clamping wakes her up. Having a headache it doesn’t help her relax. It’s annoying and she wants to shut the source up. She groans, but the scream just becomes louder so she opens her eyes, though she wishes she didn’t. She looks down at herself, tied to a chair and for a moment she thinks she’s back with Jacob and it scares her to hell. Then her memory starts to work and remembers they took her to John. Why does that make me relax?
She looks down at her bloody hands - her own blood from the fighting, climbing and crawling made her hands filled with bruises. She tied to the chair, with rope, not tape that Jacob used on her. But it’s not comfortable either, even more uncomfortable. Her wrists feeling already hurt by the ropes on them, she must have move around a lot while she was asleep.
She looks up from her hand and in the back of the strange room is another person, tied to a chair just like her. The woman, by the sound of it -because her vision is still not yet clean- is jumping and moving around in her chair, trying to escape or to get Hope’s attention. She blinks and opens her eyes wide to get her vision back to clear - keep it like this and I’ll lose my sight one day.
“Hudson!” She says as she recognizes her co-worker. She’s still in her uniform. Jesus, she’s been in that for weeks?! She looks miserably to Hope, still trying to get words out of her mouth, which is covered in tape. But not hers, not Hope’s. And she has a feeling why it’s like this. She wants to say to her that she’ll get themselves out, though she knows that’s a lie. Now they are both in the same position.
Hope keeps her mouth shut as a metal door behind her, where she can’t see, is being shut forcefully.
Hudson keeps quiet, seeing the person coming into the room. But Hope doesn’t need to see to know who it is.
Steps echo on the metal floor and a cheerful whistle can be heard. We’ll meet again...
She gets a jump as John Seed gets into her view, placing a bowl down on the table next to her chair. Water and a sponge. Then he doesn’t even look at the junior deputy as he goes along, metal box in hand, still whistling.
He stops at a wooden table of some kind. Which has a... Jesus is that a human skin?!... taped to it. The Baptist sets down his box on the table, then opens it and a bit too dramatically wipes the table from the dust on it as he sets down his tools on it. I have a feeling those aren’t usual tools for fixing the heater or something...
He stops whistling, both hand on the table, waiting for something. Or just being a dramatic ass as usual...
In the sudden silence she can hear her own heart pounding in her chest. She’s not that terrified, only god knows why not. She doesn’t dare to speak up first. Over the radio it’s her territory, she feels in a false safe, but here. This is the den of the wolf, and he’s ready to swallow it’s prey if it dares to make a sound.
She looks him over for weapons, seeing none, but she knows better than to think he can’t do damage to her. His sleeves are rolled up to his elbow, his hair is neatly done. She imagines how she must look like: her sweater from the whitetails being big on her, her overused jeans being dirty and bloody. She looks like she came from a war to do netflix. While he looks like he’s ready to fuck everyone’s shit up in court.
The man inhales as he turns around and it makes her shiver a bit, completely lost in her thoughts now trying to focus on John Seed. Oh for fucks sake! She thinks as Hope watches the man smirk at her, hand on the table, other hand hanging at his side, almost behind his back. She can’t help but look at his belt, kind of hanging in the air on his jeans, breaking the whole neat form a bit. Why the fuck is he hot? No! Stop it, don’t think about that! As the man starts talking Hope rolls her eyes, knowing this will be a long ass monologe.
“My...’parents’.Were the first ones to teach me about the Power of Yes.”
Hope frowns as John turns back to the table. This is new. This isn’t something about Joseph and the Voice, the grace of God, no. This is something more personal, more real. And Hope can’t help but feel like she’s being invited to get to know his past. She sits quietly, waiting for him to continue. He gets a stapler out of the metal box and a piece of human skin, sticking it next to the other skin. Eww...
“One night, they took me into the kitchen, and they threw me on the ground, and I experienced pain after pain after pain...” He slaps down the stapler on the desk and Hope gets starlted a bit, while Hudson makes a crying sound of fear.
Hope isn’t exactly afraid, she’s more intrigued with the story. So he was abused by his parents, great... Makes sense... Don’t feel sorry for him, don’t feel sorry for him, don’t feel sorry for him... But she can’t help and imagine a young boy, crying on the kitchen floor while his parents beat him. Shit, I feel sorry him...
He turns around, looking at Hope, but his stare wanders around, imagining the story he tells her, she thinks.
“And when I didn’t think I could take anymore, I did.” He gets something out of the box, a tool of some kind and she follows his every move with her eyes. As the man steps closer to her, a smell of cologne hits her nose. God, it’s been so long she felt the something so good. Always fighting the scent of blood and dirt around her. Even in Fall’s End, with the gunpowder and everything unpleasent. And here it is John Seed with his too good scent, she can’t help but inhale deeply which she tries to hide as an annoyed sound.
He turns on the lamp next to her on the table, positioning it so it blinds her for a second.
“Something broke free inside. I wasn’t scared, I was...” He seems to think for a bit as Hope watches the key hanging around his neck, right on his collarbone with the ‘Sloth’ carving. “...clear.”
He starts to connect the head of the tattoo gun with the machine, and Hope gulps at that, not wanting to know that sooner or later that will touch her skin. I wanted a tattoo once, now I’m not sure about this...
“I looked up at them and I started to laugh. All I could say was... Yes.” He doesn’t break eye contact and as he starts the tattoo gun, trying it out Hudson groans through her gag, but Hope doesn’t flinch. I’m not gonna give him the satisfaction.
He looks kind of dissappointed, raising his eyebrows as he looks away, turning of the tattoo gun, putting it down.
“I spent my enitre life looking for more things to say ‘yes’ to.”
Hope gasps as he quickly moves toward her, making it impossible to not look at him as he grabs the neck of her sweater, tearing it open down to her sternal line. Oh fuck, you got to be kidding me. She thinks, realizing she doesn’t wear a bra - it was removed from her when she was brought back to the whitetails just as all of her clothes. Her breasts aren’t out completely but it’s enough to make her feel exposed, face turning red.
It’s obvious to John she doesn’t wear a bra as well. A smile on his face as he looks at her exposed skin, eyes wandering around. She tries her best not to breath so heavily, not wanting more attention to herself.
“I opened every hole in my body and when those were filled, I created more.” He looks up at her flushed face and her lips. Hope doing what she always does when feeling anxious bites her lover lip a bit, making John stop for a second, considering something even, but he straightens up, not breaking eye contact.
“But it was Joseph who showed me just how selfish I was being.” He grabs the bowl with the sponge and starts to clean her chest with it. The cold water making her having goosebumps and the liquid sliding down on her making her nipples harden against the fabric of her sweater. The feeling of skin to skin making her thoughts go wild, trying to think about anything but John Seed’s hand against her chest.
“Always receiving. Always taking.” He looks up at her and continues to clean her skin with the sponge. “The best gift isn’t the one you get, it’s the one you give. And giving takes courage. The courage...” He finishes cleaning her, putting the bowl and sponge back to the table next to her as he turns around continuing.
“...to own your sin. To etch it on to your flesh.” He looks at Hudson, for the first time since he stepped into the room, then turns back.” And carry it’s burden and when you have endured - when you truly begin to atone - to cut it out like a cancer and display it for all to see.”
He motions to his own chest, trying to mimic what he’s talking about. Then he chuckles. “ My God, that’s courage.”
He turns to his desk with the human skin on it, getting out a knife sharpener from his metal box while talking, pacing around the room. Letting his voice to raise as he does.
“I’m going to teach you courage. Teach you how to say yes so you can confront your weaknesses. Confront your sin. You will swim across an ocean of pain and emerge... free.” He points the sharpener at Hope’s direction, walking toward the young woman. Placing the cold metal to her skin, right on her chest, then sliding it down to her clivage, which makes her trying to shift and get away from him. He smirks at her, a sadistic smile on that beautiful face. Why are the pretty ones the craziest?
“For only then can you truly begin to atone.”
He turns around, stopping at his desk, leaning on it with a pose he could totally make front page of a psycho version of Playboy. His voice smooth, but the it’s filled with the heavy consequenses they carry.
“So, who wants to go first? Hm?”
Fuck him... Hudson’s mouth is taped, so there’s no way she could say yes to the man, not that she would if she could anyway. This is a game between them, between the Deputy and the Baptist. They all know it.
She has to think quickly. Her heart says she should just say it and be over with it already. Let him win this round, make Hudson free from the man for a short time. But her pride, her stubborn head makes her stay silent. I won’t let him win...
“Which one? Hmmm?” But there’s only silence following him, his eyes starting to burn with fire, his voice collected still, but not for long and the junior deputy knows that.
“This..is..lesson..number..one.” His voice starting to get cold, smile fading a bit.
Hudson screams a sound that is similar to “no”, fighting against her restraints. Hope glances toward the woman, feeling her own walls break at the look of her. Pity building in her, her heart aching. She parts her lips, but closes it. Even if she said yes, he would keep both of them. This makes no difference. He will torture them both even if she says nothing. The word would just make his ego bigger, so she tries her best to ignore Hudson, looking at the man’s eyes, challenging him.
“Someone’s got to choose!” He shouts, eyes burning in anger and he suddenly turns around and flips the whole table he was leaning on a few seconds ago.
“For Fucks Sake, we’ll start with you!” He shouts angrily at Hope, walking toward her, face hard, then an evil smile comes across his face as he leans in to her face. I knew it...
“You won’t regret this, I promise.” He leans out and walks toward a crying Hudson.
“Now, before we begin I think it’s only proper that Deputy Hudson goes back to her room. Confessions are supposed be privatey after all.” He grabs her chair and starts leading her out toward the door, to stop next to Hope.
Hudson crying John stops her, hushing her.
“Shhh...shhh... I am not here to take your life.” He looks at the junior deputy. “I’m here to give it to you.”
John leans in toward Hope, grabbing her neck smoothly with both his hands, thumb circling around her pulse. Then he starts to choke her, giving more force as he speaks:
“I’m going to open you and pour your worst fears inside.” He cuts all her air away and she opens her mouth, desperatly trying to get away, trying to breath again. A moan escaping her lips which can be easily mistaken to a pleasure sound. “And as you choke, your sins will reveal themselves. Only then will you truly understand the Power of Yes.”
He stops choking, but leaves his hands on her throat, smoothing away the previous pain with his fingers, a smirk on his face as he takes a look on her more exposed breasts.
“Fuck you!” She spits at him, making him to release her as he steps back.
A surprised chuckle comes from him, looking down at her as he wipes the spit from his beard and then taking his fingers in his mouth, tasting it. Hope looks at him, disgusted and flushed by his action. He humms, then looks into her eyes, a look of a predator... a look of lust on his face and Hope can’t help but remember how he said in their last conversation that he wants her beneath him...
“Baby’s first words.” He chuckles again, meaning that the deputy never spoke to him in real life, only through the radio.
Then like nothing happened he takes Hudson’s chair and smirks at Hope.
“I’ll be right back.” And he takes out Hudson with him through the door, where Hope can’t see to leave the deputy on her own in the room.
A/N: So fucking tumblr decided to delete my chapter at least 3 times in a row, so I had to rewrite everything... Meaning it’s probably a sloppy and poor version of the original one. My anger and annoyance making this chapter probably my worst one ever. So sorry for that. And screw you tumblr...

London Has Fallen
In which Kate and Devin write a porno
Devin: Okay, so this movie is just Gerard Butler being a badass right? Is this the one with Denzel Washington? Or are neither of those things right.
Kate: It’s something like that.
Devin: Well, Butler showed up in the credits, but so did morgan freeman?
Kate: It’s a trifecta!!
Devin: Or maybe I'm just racist and mixed them up.
Kate: Or maybe it’s the two of them being badass together.
Devin: I made some comment the other day about minorities being underrepresented at the oscars or something and they asked what actors I think should win instead and I blanked on literally every minority actor I knew.
Kate: Hahahah. It’s still true though. And to be fair, could you name any white actors?
Devin: My brain got stuck on Tom Hardy and forgot literally every other actor on earth
Kate:I think he’s on tv now anyway. So far this movie is starting a bit slow. Do you think someone is going to be shot soon?
Devin: I find it weird that we are in....India?
Kate:  I think we’re at an Indian wedding. Terrorist’s daughter is getting married
Devin: This is set up for motive?
Kate: Probs
Devin: The Phantom of the Opera and Harvey Dent go for a jog
Kate: Why are politicians always running? I don’t think they do that much
Devin: I think cause DC? it's an easy excuse to pan around the lawn
Kate: Ok well fine, coming at me with movie reasons. Wait, is this a sequel?
Devin: Is it? Was the last one just called "London"?
Kate: I was thinking Gerald saved a president in the last one?
Devin: She has crazy eyes
Kate: She does but she’s pregnant
Devin:  I'll forgive it if we get through this movie without her vomiting.
Kate:  She’s in like her third tri already so she really shouldn’t
Devin:  Google says this is a sequel, to Olympus Has Fallen. Lots of stuff falling apparently
Kate: Knew it!!! I’ve seen that one too
Devin: Really? I'm guessing last time he saved President Harvey Dent from terrorists, wooed or impregnated his wife, and got hired for secret service or unfired from secret service
Kate: Unfired, if it’s what I’m thinking of
Devin: This time he'll save the Prime Minister from terrorists, see his kid born, and...uh. Be knighted? That's my guess
Kate: Seems like a totally logical guess to me. I’m betting he discovers the Prime Minister was murdered. I don’t think people are expected to attend state funerals?
Devin: I think it's cause his vice isn't available? I think normally this is the kind of thing they send him for. But I am basing that on episodes of Madam Secretary so who knows
Kate: New guess!! President is killed and Butler has to protect Freeman
Devin: Hmmm. Maybe. Is Freeman the Vice?
Kate: Yes. He said “Hello, Mr VP”
Devin: I'm missing like half of this dialogue, idk how
Kate: Cause it’s boring
Devin: I want splosions!
Kate: This baby melodrama music is not my favorite. Once again I feel like writing is letting us down?
Devin: Yeah. Be better hollywood!
Kate: Also important people shouldn’t just sign shit without looking at it
Devin: is this the fringe guy? No. Who is he? He's someone
Kate: I think? No?
Devin: Fringe guy is similar but different. Oh! The Magicians? Magicians teacher guy?
Kate: No, definitely not him
Devin: IMDBing....
Kate: “Most protected event on earth”= everyone will die
Devin: Yup. This cast listing order is stupid. Do we know British Gerard Butler's name?
Kate: You mean the head of the British security? Also no. Also I think they’re going to use kids?
Devin: Yes, British guy. Mr. Sands! From Limitless. Thanks wikipedia, for your superior cast list
Kate: Limitless. That’s right, I never watched much of that
Devin: I really liked the main guy and all the arts and crafts in that show. I'm sad it was cancelled. Also we should add the movie to our review list
Kate: Yes!
Devin: Splosion! I didn't think those guards were supposed to have real guns? Then again EMTs should definitely not have rocket launchers
Kate: Hahaha, yeah, those cops are definitely plants. It’s clearly a very well orchestrated attack
Devin: Pretty sure only america gives their cops guns. Also, rocket launcher
Kate: Wow I don’t care how this movie ends the world would not recover from this
Devin: Yeah Kate, it's fallen. Show. Us. The. Egg. It's not London unless I see the big glass egg and the ferris wheel
Kate: How did they know that one president wouldn’t leave on time?
Devin: Trackers? Or they caused the traffic?
Kate: No, he decided?
Devin: Motorcycles, a car's only weakness
Kate: Nice driving!
Devin: Don't injure civilians!
Kate: Ummmm, Devin. I think that ship has sailed.
Devin: He rammed the bad guy into a non bad guy car!
Kate: Oh fuck. Ok so who is the black lady? Is she the First Lady?
Devin: Voight buddy, you could have moved. He's the driver, she's the head of secret service
Kate: He was driving! It was a bullet! Give him some credit. Is she?
Devin: Yes. According to wikipedia
Kate: She’s not doing much. And she hunkered with the president?
Devin: Right? Stop flailing. Where is your gun, woman?
Kate: Oh god. That was brutal
Devin: That was very brutal
Kate: Why didn’t they park closer to the chopper?
Devin: Crashing in 3...2...oh ok nvm
Kate: Hahaha
Devin: He's got a cane so you know he's evil
Kate: So true
Devin: Moral of this movie: don't trust the handicapped
Kate: And yet, they didn’t detect a plan of this magnitude
Devin: Uh, did those people just have labels?
Kate: Yes. NSA and something else
Devin:  Like, movie? Movie. We do not care
Kate: I’m assuming it will be important later?
Devin: Why is the lady not doing anything?
Kate: Nice, flares! I like flares. Why are they flying so low anyway?
Devin: I got distracted googling the secret service
Kate: Anything pertinent to share?
Devin: Apparently the director just does the boring shit, so idk why she's even here
Kate: Ummmm, I think the movie should end here?
Devin: Yes they all died. The End
Kate: No way anyone survived that. I call bullshit
Devin: Also, I assumed presidents would have like one guy their whole time in office? But apparently they hire someone new a lot. Oh she dead.
Kate: For the secret service?
Devin: As director. Like Obama had 2
Kate: I mean, that’s four years for each
Devin: Trump has already had 2. The first guy for like 2 months? 1 month?
Kate: Well, Trump does that a lot. He’s had like 8 communication directors
Devin: I just wonder if they choose to leave or if the president purposefully swaps them out
Kate: Also working for the president is really intense, so maybe you just burn out and have to leave
Devin: Makes sense. The local biker gang is here
Kate: I don’t think bikes make that noise. That is dumb
Devin: Yes. Also no one checked the wreck
Kate: At least we know from earlier scenes they are fast runners!
Devin: This looks like he put his manifesto on youtube
Kate: What point is there in entertaining this phone call? Also why does he care about one president?
Devin: Imagine if he called before they watched the video! Like 5 minutes earlier
Kate: Right? He should take the uniform too
Devin:
"Who is this?"
"It's...seriously? You didn't see my video?"
"h/o googling it"
"It's on youtube"
"yeah one sec, gotta sit through this 50 shade of grey trailer"
Kate: Ahhhhhhh Being hunted by motorbikes!! Oh no
Devin: Sure, that's subtle. Also this is a regular subway
Kate: I like that he was able to loot the body for weapons. Very practical
Devin: Jesus Gerard Butler. WTF? You went from zero to torture in no time
Kate: I know, little intense. Definitely running on adrenaline
Devin: This is the most 'murrican fucking movie. You cannot convince me that huge squads of racists didn't come out of this movie going "rah rah ‘murrica"
Kate: Oh god. Unfortunately yes
Devin: Although these talky bits suck. I'd rather have more fighting. Oh, thanks label, I really cared what time it was
Kate: Everyone is dead, that’s what this discussion is. I mean surrender and then ambush. How many people do they think there are? You’re not going to be professional right now? Weird
Devin: Blah blah blah. Bitch it was a wedding. Of course his family was there
Kate: How did you not know his family was there? It was a wedding. So dumb
Devin: What even is the point of that dialogue? There better be drugs in his water or something
Kate: What kind of shoddy intel are you all operating on? This is dumb. Do criticize if necessary. You have to teach them. Also off color jokes?
Devin: "You know what's most important Mike? Children. That's why we are never going to spend time with ours in any subsequent movie."
Kate: Of course it’s not your delta team.
Devin: Yeah why was that message not in code?
Kate: Zoom in!
Devin: Enhance! Your safe house has a fucking skylight!?
Kate: Seems like a pretty lame safe house. Oh this is gross
Devin: This movie is very gratuitous with its gore
Kate: It really is. And president you should not have done that. You are not almost out of this by any long shot
Devin:  There must be a porno of this where they fuck right then
Kate:  Did all of MI6 just die?
Devin: I'm not going to lie, that weird pirate porno you made us watch that one time is better than this movie
Kate: Haha! Oh pirates. Also my taste is terrible because I still enjoy this
Devin: I don't believe the hackers would make this basic of a mistake
Kate: No, me neither
Devin: Also driving seems like the quickest way to be spotted?
Kate: They kept everything under the radar but you didn’t notice this earlier?
Devin: Ok I guess at least the car is bulletproofed
Kate: How many of these terrorists are there supposed to be?
Devin: It's just the same 4 guys, they're really fast. They keep healing when they're off screen
Kate: Seems like an infinite supply. Mutants!! Also Mike is still somehow always faster
Devin: Now I want an action movie where 3/4 of the way through you realize he's been re-killing the same 5 guys over and over and surprise! it's really a fantasy/horror movie!
Kate: That would be so good. Change the whole game. I do oddly think this would make a good porno with very very little change
Devin: It's cause there's so much standing really close while breathing heavily and the plot is basically just as thin
Kate: Yeah pretty much. It’s a male romance novel
Devin: Also there have been.....5 women? in this entire movie. 6, I guess. Wife, mother, secret service director, beehive, assistant cop, MI6
Kate: Assistant cop?
Devin: Black lady?
Kate: I don’t remember her
Devin: She was in the bullpen with not!Fringe guy
Kate: Ok sure
Devin: Oh, ok, and random lady who had a text label I didn't read
Kate: There was the turning 30 woman and one lady head of state.
Devin: Still, none of these people shooting right now? There's like 20 guys in this scene!
Kate: Nope. Can’t have women in harm’s way unless they don’t have a choice. Also no lady terrorists
Devin: Only lady terrorists allowed are dead motivation ones
Kate: Also I’m subbing lady because it’s faster to type than woman
Devin: Agreed
Kate: Omg. Whispered “Mike.” Straight out of a romance novel
Devin: What? Are you ahead of me or did I miss it?
Kate: Maybe? The president whispered it
Devin: No! I must have missed the Mike whisper
Kate: He should be really tired by now. He didn’t have dinner!
Devin: "Hear that? My boyfriend is coming"
Kate: He really should just kill the president. It doesn’t make sense not to
Devin: There is so much manly eye contact and face holding
Kate: So much
Devin: Like I'm pretty sure almost this exact sequence happened in Outlander
Kate: In the porn there would be a scene where the president seduced him, Mike walked in on it, and then they have a threesome
Devin: With the bad guy?
Kate: Yup
Devin: That seems like it would be out of place plot wise. Would the bad guy turn himself in or something?
Kate: No. Just random sex that doesn’t make sense
Devin: Weird. The sex should make sense!
Kate: It’s for real a thing that happens in porn, you get whiplash. Oh god. This is lame. Really?
Devin: One punch where he runs all the way across the screen. So stupid
Kate: Did we learn who the brit mole was?
Devin: Nope. They hacked the police station I think? Damn! Wheelchair guy didn't even get to make a speech about how bad America is. This movie is not even pretending to care about America's mistakes
Kate: Why didn’t he just shoot everyone?
Devin: Out of bullets?
Kate: He hasn’t run out of guns until now
Devin: What even is this dialogue right now?
Kate: Really dumb
Devin: "You fuck with America? OH HELL NO. WE BAT SHIT. WE WILL FUCKING MURDER ALL Y'ALL."
Kate: America’s not even 500. Witty banter!
Devin: "EVEN OUR PRESIDENT WILL PICK UP A GUN FOR MURDER TIME"
Kate: Also he’s not dead because you haven’t killed him?
Devin: Yeah you just punched him a bit and talked nonsense
Kate: Once again, another thing they wouldn’t have survived.
Devin: I feel like the porno version of this has them go back to their wives at the end with lots of meaningful looks and sly smiles between the two main dudes. Like "yeah, we'll do this again next mission"
Kate:  Oh no! But yes probably. Why was there a lock in an elevator?
Devin: Is the president the only one alive from this whole thing? They would definitely make out in this elevator
Kate: I think one other world leader survived? There was a missing link to the terrorist?
Devin: I guess?
Kate: Who sent a fucking video?
Devin: Honestly this plot is stupid Yeah he's def the mole. Also he's running away? Like he obviously did it
Kate: Are we supposed to care about him or her? Because I do not
Devin: They would have had sex earlier in the porno
Kate: Yeah. It would have made more sense. Just kill him already
Devin: Also she would have just arrested him. I feel like the porno would have less murder
Kate: It’s weird that normally I complain about too much sex? But this would just be better as a porn
Devin: Yeah our review is basically "this would have made a better porno"
Kate: How would you have found him?
Devin: Who hears "look out your window" and looks up at the ceiling? Oh maybe that's what the missing link was?
Kate: Also the VP does not have the authority to call that type of strike
Devin: What is this 10 angled shot explosion? Ok, we've got a baby
Kate: So it’s been at least a few weeks
Devin: No prime minister but I didn't realize it was his funeral so I feel like the president is close enough. Now knighthood
Kate: Sure. They don’t know how emails work? Re: is for replies
Devin: "Many people would say this is our fault, but we're america so fuck those people. we'll kill those people."
Kate: “Commence spending no time with my kid”
Devin: In the porno version we end instead with a mirror of the earlier DC lawn scene, with them sitting on a bench watching their wives/kids, and the pres saying something like "still want to quit?" and Butler saying "and leave you, sir? Never." And then meaningful eye contact. Roll credits.
Kate: Hahahah
Devin: Okay, so scores
Kate: Yes. Scores.
Devin: 3/10 for the movie, 6/10 for the porno
Kate: I go a little higher movie? Like 4.5 for the movie.  6 for porno though. I think we can agree that no porn should ever rank higher than 7
Devin: Yeah. Like, even amazing porn is still porn
Kate: Ummmm tropes? So many, “family as our motivation”
Devin: “America is terrible and we never learn anything”?
Kate: Which is so hypocritical
Devin: “One man assumes command of literally every other character without argument”
Kate: Hahahaha. So like 7 on the tropes? They all fit the plot really well
Devin: Yeah, I mean it had a very particular niche and it played to it
Kate: Exactly
Devin: I'm going to give the title an 8/10. Catchy and accurate
Kate: I can agree. Thematic
Devin: London did pretty much fall. Like an old lady in a Life Alert commercial
Kate: Better than Olympus has fallen
Devin: Yeah, plus how fucking pretentious is it to call the white house "olympus"?
Kate: Exactly
Devin: What would the porn title be? I feel like they're usually puns?
Kate: Pun for sure. London may fall but our guys stay up
Devin: kind of long
Kate: It could be the tagline?
Devin: Oh yeah, good tagline. My brain gave me "Banging Private Ryan" which does not fit but is almost certainly a movie that exists
Kate: Hahahahaha. Banging president something? Whatever his name was
Devin: No idea, I called him Harvey Dent the whole movie. London Goes Down?
Kate: London laid down? Cause laid. Get it?
Devin: H/o I have to see if there is a real porn title for this. NSA people monitoring my internet searches, I'm really sorry
Kate: Gives them some spice! A story to take home
Devin: Top result for "London Has Fallen Porn Title" is:
"London Has Fallen movie condemned as racist 'terrorsploitation' "
"London Has Fallen is gun-barrel porn"
Kate: Whelp. Yep. I feel bad for enjoying it?
Devin: "London Has Fallen Is The Worst Film About Our City Ever"
Kate: Oh no it was a piece of shit for sure. Super fucking racist
Devin: “Blowing London.” That's my official submission
Kate: Nice! “Blowing London” is great. I thought you’d actually found it.
Devin: Ok, any parting words?
Kate:  It was a dumb racist movie that I feel guilty for enjoying anyway? Which means we should have more action movies made with better plots and motivation. And female representation!
Devin:  Or more action movies that are just porn
Kate:  Or that. What about you? Parting words?
Devin: If you want to see a movie where Gerard Butler brutally murders everyone, this is it. Or, you know, go watch 300, it is less awful.
Kate: So true.
