His olive-green eyes always expressed what his mouth couldn't let go. Most of the time, especially when he wants to tell you something, he gets so nervous that he always choose to just look at you for minutes and minutes, trying to explain to you what he wants or wants you to know with his light attractive irises.

This was not easy for you, but it was not impossible either. You couldn't pressure him to talk to you about certain things, and you couldn't force him to open up verbally with you. Therefore, you did everything possible to understand his looks, his facial expressions, his touches.

It was as if you had learned another language, almost.

Nor was it as if he did not speak; He just had a hard time saying “You look so beautiful, Y/N”, “I want to cuddle, Y/N, come here”, “Kiss me, Y/N”.

But especially it was hard for him to say “I love you”.

Time stands still after those three words. He admires how your eyes open and closes slowly, amazed by his words; and he loves you very much, he loves how your lips part and your eyes moisten after he told you what you had expected to hear for years, loves the fact that you cover half of your face with your delicate hands, loves the smell of food you were preparing, loves how good the house feels with your presence.

Those words are stronger, now there are tears of fill with excitement and joy covering your cheeks; he loves how you stop cooking and how you walk towards him, loves how you look at him into his eyes, how your lashes look so shiny, how his hands start to clean your tears, how you smile so brightly at him.

“It took you long enough to say it, didn't it?” You want to sound challenging, but you end up sobbing into his chest, holding him tight. Iwaizumi hugs your trembling body, kissing the crown of your head with a smile. Just finished reading the first 2 chapters of adored 2 (or as i refer to it in my head ‘2 be adored’ because i love cheesy sequel titles) and it is e v e r y t h i n g!!!! Pat’s perspective is so interesting and i am completely obsessed!!! I love knowing the events that are coming up because i am always just like ‘ooh this is going to happen i wonder exactly what pat thinks of this’. The paris chapter was just amazing and i am so excited for the rest of this fic!! <33333

ahhh thank you so much!! I am also finding Pat's perspective so much fun to write, especially the Paris chapter where I felt he was a lot more in character than the first chapter (which was deliberate dw).

I've said to the patcap discord already but what I love about adored 2 - or 2 be adored ;) - is that it really is Pat's journey to realising that Cap is just...some guy. He's got flaws, but he also got feelings, like every other person on the planet and the only thing stopping them getting together is each other. God. Just, them ❤ I hate them and I love them.
