Grian remembers when it all started, it's a bit blurry, but he remembers well enough the feeling of teeth sinking into the flesh of his neck, clamping down on muscle and soft tissue. He remembers being terrified, and how difficult it was to breath. He remembers his dad, calling out to him, fear, shock, and sadness twisted together in a wail of agony.

Grian stares down at his snow white hands, deep in troubled thought as he waited patiently for something to come. His food supply had been running low, and he was in dire need for a restock.

SNAP "Fuck!"

It wasn't what he had wanted, but it would do.

He approached the dangling man calmly, looking over his catch with curiosity, it wasn't every day a human came out this far. The man scowled at him from where he hang from the tree branches overhead, their leafless fingers brushing and scraping the man's jean covered legs carelessly as the breeze was carried through them.

"well?! What are you doing standing around? Whoever set this trap is gonna come looking ya know!" The bearded man shouted angrily, displeased at the realization that his rifle lay on the forest floor. His thick plaid shirt fit well on him, showing the taunt muscle underneath, Grian pondered for a moment on what he should do.

He remembered the other day, when he had helped one of the Walking get out of a hole. He realized it was time to play for the other team, he would let the man go.

Grian danced through the crowd easily, dodging around and through the Walking with practiced ease. They cared little for him, their eyes and ears strained for the sight, smell, and taste of their prey.

He left the crowd, hurrying to a supply store, he knew that the clothes inside would serve him well during the harsher months, when it seemed as though his heart would freeze, pale lips turned an even paler blue. He stopped as he passed a broken mirror, shattered but still intact. His eyes traveled over his reflection, large baggy clothes hung over his small frame, smudges of dirt littered his face, his dark drown eyes staring blankly forward. For being twenty eight he was only the size of a sixteen year old, his body unable to age properly. His backpack lay heavy on his shoulders, the contents inside aided him with every journey he took.

He took deep ragged breaths as he continued onward deeper into the store.

The photo Grian held was old, he was only thirteen when it was taken, but remembered how happy everyone was, a stark contrast to the few survivors he met today. He stood in the middle, a signature red sweater engulfed him as he smiled brightly at the camera. His father stood to his right, a arm rest on his son's shoulders, the large x scar the man bore on his face was faint in this picture, it was a twin scar to the one his younger brother bore. Behind them sat their new home, his uncle had demanded they take a picture to remember it.

Grian stared at the photo lovingly, a fond yet sad smile on his face as he remembered his father.

It seemed so much longer than ten years, the last memory of his dad being of pain and blood. Grian was unsure that his father was still alive, it was a nice thought, but Grian could only escape reality for so long. The bite scar on his neck stung with the memory.

"Your alive!"

A shout had sounded from behind Grian, startling him into turning around, a terrible idea.

"Wait... Is that... But it's scarred?! How..?!" The man panicked, staring blatantly at the bite scar on Grian's neck, pure proof of infection had it only been hours old.

"Are you... Dead? Are you a... Walker?" The young man asked, his camo jacket wrinkled as he gestured wildly with his hands, staying a good distance away from Grian as if an attack could be sprung at any moment

"No." Grian replied calmly, knowing full well of the virus the survivors feared so greatly. Turning back to his task of setting up more traps, kneeling back down and continuing to tie knots into the ropes on and around the roots of the tree.

"But you've been bit by one?" The man ventured cautiously, as if thinking that Grian would become outraged at the very notion.

"Yes." Grian once again answered cooly, " many, many years ago."

"So your immune?!" The man gasped, staring at Grian with a gaze mixed with awe and hints of lingering fear.

"Not exactly." Grian said, standing up and walking away from the man, to a direction that he knew led to the city, the man followed eagerly, an easy kill, Grian had decided. He had no need for human flesh, but his half brethren did.

Oldest is ofc the first, maybe the mentally ill one (cause mumbo and grian locked him up in an island)

But might as well drop some lore while I’m at it

Oldest- Grumbot (OG from Season seven) “human” name: Luan Ronnie Jumbo (dreamslayer)

For his middle name I picked Ronnie because it means ruler (he pretty much parents his brothers) , and advice (literally his purpose), also Ronnie is such a good name tbh

Middle children- Grumbot Prime and Emperor Grumbot both from season 9, I made them twins since they don’t have a canon age difference unlike Grumbot and Jrumbot who were also made in the same season but have a canon age difference, grian literally saying Jrumbot was grumbots little brother. “Human” names: Parker Charles Jumbo (dreamslayer) for Grumbot Prime, and Emmett Oliver Jumbo (dreamslayer) for Emperor Grumbot

For the twins, their middle names correspond to who they are most like, so Parker is more like Grian and Emmett is more like Mumbo

Youngest- Jrumbot (also from season 7) “human” name: Archie Ryan Jumbo (dreamslayer)

Okay for the middle name he’s named after Scar because he is in fact the only jumbo kid who actually likes him, lazy ik but still

OKAY SO HOW THEY BECAME HUMAN:

No this isn’t the birds and the bees lesson because THEY WERENT MADE THAT WAY. So Xisuma started to notice how these MASSIVE robots were like conquering the hermitcraft multiverse (which apparently is canon) and killing a crap ton of people, specifically Scar, so he looked into it and turns out! They are Mumbo and Grian’s kids so he walked up to them one day and said, “take care of ya sons” so they go after them, or Xisuma forces them to, they fight and fight, and grian uses this BIG ASS spell that would turn the grumbots into their weakest form, which is human children (low key insulting to us humans ngl)

So they come back and Xisuma sees them like disheveled with like four crying little kids on them and he’s like, let’s take it one at a time mkay? So he takes the younger kids, and makes it so they won’t be ‘born’ until Grian and Mumbo Are ready for another kid because going from no kids to four kids in the span of 2 weeks is crazy

How does he do this? Well he genetically modifies them so that they revert back to just eggs that won’t hatch until exposed to heat, so he keeps them locked up in a freezer until the time is right

Ngl that sounds bad but trust me it’s not

Anyway grian and Mumbo soon realize they can’t really raise a kid none the less four on the hermitcraft server since there are no schools, hospitals, clinics, daycares, playgrounds, etc, and they panic cause they don’t wanna leave, so Xisuma adds a small sub server attached to the hermit craft server called, “the hermit suburbs” were people can live normal lives while still being hermits, and eventually more hermits and even some folks from empires and the life series go and live there and still go on the hermitcraft server.

So that’s where Grian and Mumbo raise the rest of those weird robot human hybrids

also after 2 years of Grian and Mumbo taking care of Luan, they are like, “yeah we can take another now” and then Xisuma gives them the twins and they are like “why are there two” and Xisuma is like, “I want this to be over with as soon as possible so I’m just giving you two deal with it” and so they just deal with it, but they soon realize how much more work it is, since the twins are VERY bad babies, what I mean is they cry all the time, don’t eat food they don’t like, don’t get dressed without a fight , etc, and so they wait 6 YEARS when they are almost teenagers to get the final egg, which is Archie, who is the best by far.

So that explains the age gap if you were wondering

I think i should make a hermitcraft camp au

AS A PERSON WHO HAS NEVER BEEN TO A CAMP, IT WILL BE INFLUENCED BY MY BUNK'D OBSESSION WHEN I WAS like 9, CAMP CAMP, AND MY OWN INSANITY ALONE!

Everyone will be like 14-17 and it will be VERY Found Family!!!! U can take the hermits being family to eachother from my COLD DEAD HANDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Xisuma is the Volunteer camp counselor, His parents said it'd be good to be out in nature and would be good for him!! Real Life Experience!! and they dragged him into the role. He did not want to deal with kids(elementary schoolers can be mean...) but he was pleasantly surprised to find people more his age(That being 15 at the time) He took to it well but he is slowly going insane, do not mistake that.

The camp itself is just, alittle illegal, like a camp counselor started at 15 and i don't think he should of been without adult supervision but whatever!

by the second year of camp most of the hermits had already joined the camp! I have few ideas but here's some

Joe actually did want to go to the camp! He wanted to be a camp counselor but didn't really get the opportunity to sign up so now he helps out Xisuma whenever he can! A quarter threw the first year He dragged Cleo out of the new arrivals bus and introduced her to their little friend group! Cleo really didn't wanna be there but she also really didn't like going through the summer without Joe, so now she's here. in the wilderness :]

Did i mention that the camp is a summer camp, cause!!!

S U M M E R!!

Bdubs was super enthusiastic about the nature part, he wanted to look at cool moss!!!!(me too, me too) and then forgot about the activities part of camp and for a solid month Etho had to drag him out of bed just to do something other then sleep. They'd find him sleeping in trees. I think he'd be an amazing tree climber. He'd only wake up for the forest related activities and has skipped every single swimming activity since he got there. surprisingly it's a 50/50 on if he shows up to a craft activity. one time they had a special animal-care activity and when Etho mentioned the horses the people had brought ONCE and bdubs jumped up and sprinted to them. He did not leave those horses side until they left and after that they got a stable in the camp and bdubs and etho take cake of the horses everyday together! I like them :)

He and Etho share a bunk!!!! They're in the same cabin and after the horse thing they made a little shrine and their other cabin mates... are scared.

Mumbo joined at the same time as Cleo(On the same arrival bus and everything) and was very much the youngest(like just turned 14? maybe) He was the bbabbbyyy... and also exploded something on his first day! :D

Tango, Impulse, and Zed disappeared one night and came back the next day properly unhinged and wouldn't tell a single soul what they'd been up to but after that they're seen together more then not Lol

And the next year they came back speaking of Impulses friend Skizz who they were trying to convince the parents of to send them to camp aswell! It did not work until the 3rd year! Jump for joy, they did!

Grian joined, not wanting to be there at all, having a terrible time and then well

He caused Chaos, left for a week, then came back worse and decided he'd rather be there, super concerning to the others but he didn't speak a peep about it and then went back to causing(now slightly less destructive) chaos! He and Mumbo become extremely good friends, they bribed mumbo's bunk-mate to switch cabins with grian and now they're bunk-mates! it caused confusion for a week and then became the new normal! lol. I think he'd have a digital camera and he'd take pictures of the others, but also birds, so many birds. he'd rush to take a picture everytime he saw a duck, which was everyday, because the camp was RIGHT NEXT TO A RIVER!!! ya.

He would take care of the very few chicken's, and he got the others to help make the coop better because parts of it were rusting and breaking and he was scared that the chickens were gonna get hurt.

I think he'd be a only new arrival for the rest of that summer(so like he arrived like, 2 months into the second summer? how long is summer again? IDK) With hermits that join in season 5 probably arriving during the first month of summer? lets say? ya.

The 3rd summer had two new arrivals which was Pearl and Gem!! They arrived on the same bus and definitely had known eachother beforehand(aka Pearl went "I'm going to this camp next summer, u should come too :3" and Gem said "well okay i guess")

I think Grian and Pearl are siblings(you couldn't take that headcanon away if u tried LOL) and Pearl arriving was wweeirdddd cause grian had missed them arriving and then everytime he saw pearl he did a double take like 'did, did I just see who i thought I saw??????'

aka Grian did NOT know their Parents were sending Pearl to this Camp aswell teehe

I think Joel would arrive and be tackled by Grian, they knooww eachootherr aswell!!! yiippeee, I also think Joel and Etho should know eachother aswell, like they'd been to the same school and stuff lol.

Skizz Arrives and Impulse promptly gives him the biggest hug because He missed his best friend!!!!!!! it's been months!!!! they're dramatic about it.

I’ve been thinking lately about how the mlp fandom had “creepypasta” (or just generally weird and evil) versions of all the characters and had an extended universe where they were all fucked up but still friends and I think that’s so funny and I think the hermitcraft fandom should do that too.

Skulk/vex Cub, Geminislay, dungeon master Tango, vex Scar, Ren the King, demon Impulse, jungle Bdubs, Zedeath/evil scientist Zedaph, eldritch horror Keralis, fucked up watcher Grian, Beetlejhost, etc should all come together and torment people as best friends forever.

If you know me, you know that I love Season 8 of Hermitcraft and that it was my favourite season because of the storyline. I have not felt all too well the last couple of days and used that to my advantage for a new short story about Tango and how I put a twist on his S8 ending because.. why not? :D If you want to, you can give it a read with the link attached above.
