For the WIP folder asks, can you share about ll coffee shop au and sx breakup? Also maybe merman aa meeting!
Of course!
ll coffee shop au: Song Lan/Lan Xichen. Hurt/comfort, falling in love
Song Lan is struggling over the very recent death of his boyfriend, Xiao Xingchen. It had been coming as Xingchen had been sick, but even knowing he had been dying, had not given Song Lan the time to deal with it. Its onlg been a month.
He works mutliple jobs, needing to stay busy. He's not doing well, doing the bare minimum to take care of himself. He hardly sleeps and he hasn't had a full meal since Xingchen passed. He's thin and haggard. Even Xingchen's younger siblings (his sister lives with Song Lan) cannot help him and are unable to even make him wat a meal.
In the mornings, he works at a coffee shop as a Barista. Its a small shop so there is only ever just him at the counter.
Lan Xichen has only just come out of a three year long seclusion. He lost his husband to a car accident and had locked himself away to deal with his grief and guilt.
Due to his brother and brother-in-law worrying over him so much, he had decided to try and open up again.
He begins to go back to the office to work instead of working virtually.
Every morning he goes to get himself a fancy little tea or coffee, as a treat and a reward for leaving his home.
When he meets Song Lan for the first time, he just KNOWS. He can see it in the exhaustion in his face, the sadness. Xichen has gone through it all.
He worries a bit as even he hadn't gotten to the point that this man was at, ghastly thin and looking like he hadn't slept.
Despite his own pain and mourning, Xichen begins to care for Song Lan. He let's himself focus on the younger man, bringing him vitamins and homemade soups. It helps him adjust as he now has something to focus on, someone to care for.
Song Lan begins to open up, almost immediately. Lan Xichen has a gentleness to him that reminds him of Xiao Xingchen, a caring nature and kind disposition. He starts to find reason in life as Xichen comes to have lunches with him and takes him to the park for picnic dinners so they can watch the sun set.
It will be a comforting and healing story where both men learn to overcome their grief with each other and learn to love again after such great loss.
sx breakup: SongXiao. Angst. Modern au.
Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen's relationahip is strained. Song Lan works long hours and often doesn't even come home. He wants to give his husband a bwtter life, so he works hard to do so.
Xingchen feels neglected. He would rather have Song Lan home with him than working. He allows a coworker to shower him in the affection his husband will not (compliments, flowers, nothing physical) and brings home a bouquet of roses to show Song Lan that he deserves these thinfs and that others will give them to him if he won't).
They have their first real fight and due to miscommunication on both sides, and they end up breaking off their engagement. Here is a little exceprt:
Song Lan’s head hurt. His chest was aching. “Why are we even doing this anymore Xingchen-? You… You obviously aren’t happy anymore- If you wanted to break up, you could have just said so- I would… I won’t stop you…” Song Lan was trembling. His ears were ringing and his lungs burned. Why am I saying this? The man felt like he was too late. He had already lost Xingchen and his affections. He knew he had been working too much but he was trying to get a promotion in his company. He wanted to give them a more secure future, to allow Xingchen to work less so he could spend more time on his hobbies. Song Lan felt like a fool.
Xingchen’s eyes hardened and he grimaced at the other man. “All you had to do was tell me that you were done with me! Don’t make it seem like this is my decision- If you don’t want me, then I won’t stay, Zichen. You only take me out for our anniversary or holidays- You only tell me you love me when you’re on business trips! You…” Xingchen swallowed, looking away from the man he had wanted to spend his future with. “I know what I’m worth, Zichen-” Xingchen felt his heart breaking. I want him to love me the way he did when we were younger. “You just stay with me because its easier than breaking up-”
“Xingchen, that’s not true!” Song Lan was trying to force himself to move but he felt frozen in place. “I love you! I never stopped! Please, can we just talk about this?”
“I’m done talking about this, Zichen…” Xingchen had turned away from Song Lan and walked over to their closet, pulling his suitcase from the top shelf. “You act jealous when another man gives me attention but I guarantee that you’ll forget about me while you pursue your damn job-”
merman aa meeting: WenZhou - Wen Kexing/Zhou ZIshu (Word of Honor/TYK/SHL). Crackfic, meet cute(?), comfort, comedy, modern fantasy au, alcohol and drunkness mentioned
This takes place in a fantasy version of our modern world.
Zhou Zishu is a mer, much like in Luca (has legs and a tail, can become human out of water). He had first left the ocean to get away from the pain caused by the deaths of his entire family. Humans. Pollution. He was the last of his bloodline alive and that was too much for him to handle.
He discovered human alcohol after overhearing fisherman talk about its numbing effects and quickly becomes an alcoholic.
Months pass this way and he is making bad life decision after bad life decision. Then, he is forced to go to Alcoholic Anonymous meetings by an old friend, Han Ying.
At these meetings, he meets a elven man that much like him, has been dealt a bad card at life. Wen Kexing, the prince of his kingdom; is miserable and his only reason for living is to get revenge on the human emperor that had killed his father. He goes to the AA meeting because he is trying to gather information on one of the Emperor's knights. Meeting Zhou Zishu just happens to give him something to live for and he is determined to help the mer stop his drinking habit and turn his life around.
There is only a few paragraphs of plot written so I do not have an excerprt for this, It has been in my drafts since 2023.

Some 3chen 🤍🖤💙 for this year's @mdzsrbb! Which @mdzs-rabbithole brought to life beautifully.
Song Zichen stands on a small, residential path in Cloud Recesses. The sunlight glints off of the crossed swords he wears, and Lan Xichen’s heart pangs with sympathetic grief. When their eyes meet across the bursting pink garden, the man’s expressionless face still somehow conveys concern. --- Lan Xichen is still in seclusion when he begins an unlikely friendship with Song Lan and the teenaged ghost who walks beside him.

For the shipping meme: Would you share your lanlan and songning thoughts with the class?
Ohohoho!!!! Those are my sleeper agent code words!
In my view for both of these, it’s quite a lot of “this person is the only person who understands what I’m going through”. That person is: Song Lan.
On the LanLan side: there’s quite a bit obviously to parallel. Both have lost people that they can never get back, even through reincarnation. Xiao Xingchen’s soul is so broken he removed himself from the cycle of rebirth entirely and both jiggy and nmj are trapped in that coffin so dead or alive or reanimated or what else have you, they’re gone. A huge chunk of what makes both so tragic is that aside from each other, in terms of having someone who can comfort you and knows what you’re going through? They’re alone. And for both of them at the ends of their respective stories it’s by choice!!!!! Song Lan goes off with xxc and aq’s souls and just… leaves! He could go anywhere and accompany anyone, and chose not to. There’s an interesting element of “walking off to his doom” present that makes the whole thing even worse. Lxc chooses seclusion and never comes out. This is, again, also by choice. I think from a meta standpoint, the only thing that could get him to come out is a heart to heart with Song Lan. Much as the twin jades love each other, Wangji can’t help him. I do honestly think the only way either of them could really move on is to move on together.
For SongNing, the thing that song lan understands is being a fierce corpse. And on a surface level it seems like a shallow comparison but it really isn’t. We Ning may have been initially created out of distress and wanting him back, but it does not change that before the timeskip and Wei wuxian’s character development, wen ning fills the same niche that sl filled with xy. He’s a tool. A beloved one, but a tool nonetheless. Wei Wuxian can protest much as he likes, but his actions have him used that way. There’s something very isolating about the idea that everyone you live is gone and you will outlive them not because of cultivated immortality but because you’ve been made into an abomination. You will always be permanently “othered” and ordinary people will always (somewhat justifiably) be afraid of them. Fierce corpses are dangerous! And the average person might not have the luxury of double checking to see if they’re sentient or not before having to run away. For wen ning, song lan is an opportunity for a companion that both understands him and won’t fear him.
Anyway we love parallels in this house 🥹
I’d do the questions but I’m too rambly about them also both are rarepairs so I’m not sure any option on either would have an element of “unpopular?” So yeah 🤍

AEUTDDUV 131

Okay. I keep seeing you talking about Tientsin Mystic. Can you give me a breakdown pretty please? What's it about? What do you love most about it? Should I watch it?
Pretty please with Foye on top?
the way i saw this ask and immediately SCREAMED caitlin my love how did you know i want to talk about tientsin mystic forever and ever???
OKAY THE BREAKDOWN:
Tientsin Mystic is about a corpse retriever named Guo Deyou, who is nicknamed 小河神, or the little river god, because he's so fucking good at finding corpses under the water. One night he finds a body under there but SURPRISE it's not a corpse but DING MAO the son of the president of the chamber of commerce in their town. why was ding mao in the water no one fucking knows but the next day Guo Deyou retrieves an Actual Dead Body from the water but it's DING MAO'S DAD :( ding mao is upsetti spaghetti about this understandably, and since he's just come back from Germany where he majored in forensic science, he decides he's gonna solve this murder case, and moves in to guo deyou's house so that he can annoy him into helping him.
they are joined by Gu Ying, a religious sorceress and guo deyou's best friend, and xiao lanlan, a newspaper reporter who keeps getting discriminated against because she's a woman. Eventually, they discover that there's a CULT HAPPENING and they have to stop the cult from kidnapping a baby that will make them immortal or something??? idk honestly after episode five you can really just skip to Season Two bc while Season One is fun, season two FUCKS
(non-specific spoilers for seasons one and two of tientsin mystic below the cut)
BASICALLY season one ends with them all in mortal peril and ur like :O what's gonna happen?????? and then season two starts and just explains everything that happened in season one in like two minutes and then says "yeah shit happened they solved it and now they're in MORE SHIT here we go!" guo deyou is in prison, gu ying is in the hospital having gone crazy from zombie juice, ding mao is now like the head of the city, and xiao lanlan is trying to start up her own newspaper. they end up having to solve MORE MURDERS bc the police force in town is just a Mustache Man and his harem so they're basically useless.
now i may be biased, but i am in love with season two because of what they chose to do with ding mao's character, and that may just be bc of my Personal Aesthetic Tastes, but they went OFF with that shit. basically at the end of season one (we never see this actually we just get Trauma Flashbacks) shit explodes and ding mao gets trapped in a cave in or something???? it is unclear but ANYWAY he permanently injures his leg so throughout season two he's like, finding new ways to work around his injury and how to keep up with his former lifestyle and his friends, and he has a cane with a SWORD IN IT and also guo deyou has a bunch of angst about this bc he couldn't save ding mao and it's just!!!!!!! really good for me personally. hit like all of my buttons (ding mao is also stressed as hell about EVERYTHING so there's a lot of him Not Sleeping and people worrying about him and I??? want to cry about it i love him). there's also mysticism and magic and all sorts of fun stuff! the plot moves along pretty well and the villain isn't nearly as batshit as in season one so i liked that more too. I also surprisingly really liked gu ying/guo deyou's arc in s2 as well.
i think a lot of people are turned off from season two bc the original guo deyou actor, li xian, was replaced by jin shijia (from Under the Skin), but i actually really like his portrayal of guo deyou. he's a lot more gritty and rough and like, down-to-earth, whereas li xian's guo deyou was more lofty and aloof, but season two really emphasizes the class differences between gu ying/guo deyou and ding mao/xiao lanlan, which was something that i enjoyed. i love both guo deyous, but i went into season two expecting to just tolerate him, but i ended up liking him the most.
OF COURSE THE HIGHLIGHT tho is ding mao, my baby mad scientist. he's extremely silly and just wants to do a good job but also does not want to do business ever!! he likes looking at things through his magnifying glass and cutting open corpses and he's just a giant Nerd!! zhang mingen is STELLAR in this role, especially in season two; the thing with injuries and actors is that sometimes they forget that they're supposed to be In Pain or inhibited in some way, but zhang mingen never forgets. this could be bc they costumed him with this giant clunky metal brace, but just the way he moves his entire body, even without the brace, is so different from season one, and he does a really good job of embodying that into his character. I also have a soft spot for characters who have disabilities but are still allowed to be badass, and ding mao is one of them. he kicks SO MUCH ASS but also he has to adjust for this new part of his life and hhnngngnghgghghgh it's so well-done it's just some really great details.
is it a good show? objectively i don't know. the villains are kind of cheesy and the stakes never seem to be that high, but the four main characters wrap you up in the show so well that you fall in love with all of them and their world anyway. i highly recommend if you want some silly hijinks and murder mystery solving, but be prepared that season two ends very abruptly and with no explanation as to the ending, and there doesn't seem to be a season three in the works unfortunately. i still think you should watch it bc if you're anything like me it will live in your head rent free for days and bring you endless joy :)
look at him in his lil outfit!!!
he’s so dramatic wtf
also the costuming on this show is absolutely bananas, no one’s clothes match at all ever
in conclusion i love them ok goodbye
#this show#i could talk about tientsin mystic forever i love it so much#tientsin mystic#ask tag#ding mao my baby mad scientist#guo deyou and his lesbian solidarity braids#xiao lanlan#gu ying

Post-Canon Song Lan/Lan Xichen Meet (by blowing up a ghost)
[EDIT: Now titled The Brightest Sparks That We Remember]
[Chapter 2] [Ao3 link]
[CW: Very brief child death and eating people mention]
Song Lan could feel the buzz of wards in the air against his deadened skin and stopped. Darting further into the bamboo, the ghost that had managed to stay maddeningly just out of reach during his entire pursuit heard his footsteps pause and glanced back over its shoulder. Seeing him stopped, it stretched its too wide mouth into a ghastly, bloody smile, laughed like a rusty sword and continued on into the shadows of the deeper woods.
For a moment, Song Lan hesitated, weight on the balls of his feet. He wanted to pursue. This thing had been terrorizing a small village deep in the remote mountains of Gusu and he had been hunting it tirelessly for 2 days now, running it ragged through twisting passes and across frozen peaks, giving it no recourse to continue its slaughter, weakening it considerably.
It certainly couldn’t turn around and feed on him--he wasn’t the right kind of corpse.
But now, he was near civilization again, apparently, and the single minded hunt of evil was ceding to the rules of the human world again. He had to consider things like land ownership and propriety, and if he, a fierce corpse of some considerable power, tripped the wards to some cultivation sect or Temple land, he would have to explain himself. If they even allowed him time to do so before trying to eradicate him.
His hand tightened on Fuxue’s frigid hilt in his hand, no warmer from his touch than the snow around him. The night was bitterly cold and bright, though neither made a difference to him, the full moon bathing the snow into brilliant midnight scintillation between the proud stands of bamboo. These wards were strong and old--he might even have chased the thing far enough to be near the Cloud Recesses. Of course someone would have been alerted to the thing's crossing and could deal with it themselves. However, it was rude to chase something onto another’s land and have them clean up after you. But one had to balance that against the rudeness of trespassing in the first place. And while his few interactions with Hangaung-jun had been…cordial, if unorthodox, there was no guarantee he would be met with anyone who knew him, if this even was the home of the Lan.
But this ghost was powerful and quick and had eaten several of the children in the village already and killed several men. Truly vicious.
Fuxue waited patiently while he considered. On his back and on his belt, Shanghua and the spirit pouches remained quiet, unforthcoming. Only sometimes did he receive a nudge from one of the 3, a vague impression or a fleeting emotion. He hoped that it was a sign that their souls were slowly condensing and healing.
Indecision kept him stone still, listening to the crunch of footsteps disappearing rapidly deeper into the bamboo, out of sight, now.
Until he heard a cry of fear.
Without another thought, Song Lan darted across the boundary after the ghost. Dimly, he felt the snap of the wards fizz over his skin, raising the hairs on his arms, the smell of ozone and a glacial tang flooding his nose. It did not matter. Someone was in danger.
Swift and silent as a shadow, he sped across the snow, weaving between the bamboo trunks--instead of fading, that smell of ozone and ice was growing stronger--until he broke into a clearing and found a man, surrounded by drifting snow.
He had his back to the moon with a long fall of black, unbound hair, ghostly, as graceful and distant as the moon. This pervading, lightning-struck scent of spiritual power was coming from him. Were it not for the vibrant thrill of yang qi Song Lan can feel thrumming from him, he might have thought he was the arrival of another, more powerful ghost. His hand was extended, long and elegant, a flake of the scattered snow lit on his fingers. No. Not snow, he saw, now; ash. The man had smeared it with his thumb, leaving a light gray streak across his fingertips and snow did not fall from an empty, star strewn sky.
It was when the man turned, sensing his approach, that brought Song Lan to a dead halt, frozen at the edge of the clearing. Had he breath and a heartbeat, it would have skipped, locked. His hand shot to the pouch hanging on his left side.
Xingchen? Xiao Zhen?
But then…no.
No. He saw, now, in the pouring of moonlight above them, though they were of a similar height, this man’s jaw was stronger, his shoulders wider, the slope of his nose wrong. And the broken soul beneath Song Lan’s palm still fluttered, weakly, like dying embers in its pouch. This man was tall and handsome, as he had been, but he was not his Xiao Zhen.
It must have been the regal sweep of the eyebrows, the celestial, remote sort of beauty both the men shared that had made Song Lan see…what he yearned for. Of course his love had not somehow materialized on some strange mountain peak in Gusu. Had some part of him truly been secretly clutching the hollow hope of his miraculous return? Since when had hope had a roost in him in these last 10 years? Even in the 2 he had finally been set free from Xue Yang’s control, he had not noticed its arrival. But now he certainly felt its wounding.
If Xingchen were to return--and even this was not certain--it would not be for a long, long time.
The man was watching him, silently. Song Lan sheathed his sword and bowed, using the movement to draw one of the talismans he had made from his sleeve so he could trace faintly glowing words in the air with his finger, lingering like ink through water. “Song Lan apologizes for troubling this cultivator with his affairs.”
The ash that had fallen had been what remained of the ghost’s soul after it was forcibly dissipated by whoever this was, the cry of terror and surprise had been its last breath, not a victim’s. All that was left now was to apologize for trespassing and be on his way. Since he hadn’t been attacked already, he may yet be able to handle this amicably as it was unlikely that whoever this was could not sense his true nature if he could so thoroughly destroy a ghost of that level without blinking.
There came a long silence as the man studied him without malice or chill, face closed and Song Lan bore his gaze stolidly. Finally, the stranger said in a low, hoarse voice. “It’s no trouble.”
He certainly cut something of an odd picture, standing there in the snow of the deep woods in just a few layers of white robes and unbound hair, not introducing himself and not asking why Song Lan has trespassed. Something about him was distantly familiar--perhaps someone he had met in passing during his life or someone who had visited Baixue Temple. No matter. The ghost was destroyed and his work was complete. Just as he was preparing to explain his farewell and bow, the strange cultivator suddenly turned his head as if hearing something from deeper in the woods, though Song Lan could sense nothing. Then, he turned back. “Please follow me,” he said quietly and turned to disappear through the gently swaying bamboo behind him.
For the second time that night, Song Lan paused, considering his options. The man had not glanced behind him to see if Song Lan was following and the boundary line of wards was not more than a few hundred yards across the woods in the opposite way. Whatever the man had sensed surely couldn’t be so fast as to catch him before he left if he himself hadn’t been able to catch wind of it yet. He could simply leave and be on his way, leaving this moonlit clearing and this odd cultivator behind.
Shanghua twitched. Startled, he automatically reached up and wrapped his hand around its hilt, opening himself up for whatever play of emotions or energy. But there was nothing. Perhaps it was just reminded of its master The Bright Moon and Gentle Breeze with the full moon so round and bright overhead. Sometimes he would imagine he knew what Xiao Xingchen would say in some instances, the memory of his voice keeping him company as the man had so long ago. Seeing Song Lan hesitate, now, he would have smiled serenely and said, Keeping a new friend waiting is rude, don’t you think, Zichen?
Song Lan supposed there was no harm. He could fight his way out if need be. He followed the man, slipping in through the bamboo after him.

(so the lanlan discord makes some excellent points,)
.
He meets Song Zichen in the hall surrounding the Easternmost courtyard, where the marble columns are carved around the base with cranes. Without Xiao Xingchen beside him Song Zichen does not take up enough space. There is an absence, palpable, separate an inside the larger loneliness of the Eastern courtyard at sundown. Good Lan disciples are eating their supper. Lan Xichen was not hungry. “Song-daozhang,” he says, and bows. A conflict of emotions has risen in him at the sight of the proud, so ill-used cultivator: respect and sorrow, sympathetic grief and lingering awe from the days when the accomplishments of the Cold Snow and Distant Frost passed through people’s mouths like a river of gold, impossible and wonderous. It takes a moment for him to feel the upward press of hands on his wrists, then. When he does, he looks up, and goes still. It was this very hall that Lan Xichen first raised Jin Guangyao (Meng Yao, then, A-Yao yet to become) from his parting bow, attempting to show the beautiful young man that here at least was one who saw him as more than his birth. How many times since then had he done the same—did his own hands feel so wide, so devastating through layers of cloth? Inescapable. Unearned. Why should Song Zichen raise him? There is a sharp sound: the echo of a child’s shout, and then the murmur of the subsequent admonishment. Lan Xichen claws his head above the water. He steps back. Song Zichen’s arms fall to his sides.
“Forgive me, I…was struck by a thought.” He is trembling. Song Zichen must be able to see it. It would be the height of ungraciousness to flee. Song Zichen frowns, throat working, righteous spine unfurling, and Lan Xichen does anyway.
-------
It is difficult to find a man who does not wish to be found, when that man is quiet, and makes wider groups uncomfortable. By the time Lan Xichen tracks Song Zichen to a secluded copse on the back hill, overlooking a thin ribbon of stream, he is almost frantic with the fear he has insulted the other beyond mending. As he approaches he slows. A Lan does not dawdle, Sect Leader least of all, but Lan Xichen—hesitates, unwilling to disturb the scene before him. Song Zichen looks so peaceful; his legs crossed, the swords he carries like solemn penitence yet sleeping, sheathed upon his back. The stream splashes, merry and young. Lan Xichen wonders if the little fish who gape their mouths along her stony bed know aught of the world up above, and if so who taught them, who took them from their gentle ignorance and thrust the cares of men into their fragile bodies. Song Zichen hears him. He turns, standing; the hem of his robe scrapes the grass. Automatically Lan Xichen begins to bow, and then catches himself, freezing in an agony of uncertainty with his head stooped (but not, oh not, with wisdom). Song Zichen too twitches forward, arms lifting, and stops. They look at each other. Song Zichen’s eyes are strangely wet. “I apologize,” Lan Xichen forces through his sandy mouth, and then like that were a dam dissolving the cavalcade of words rush after. “I did not wish to make you uncomfortable, or to give insult. It is an honor to host such a respected cultivator at the Cloud Recesses. My behavior was merely due to my own surprise over—a matter, but still my behavior was unacceptable.” He is winded, as from after running, further than a golden core can take him. Song Zichen is frowning again. His mouth moves, wordless, and Lan Xichen could strike himself across the face for his own negligence. “Here,” he says, rushing to pass over the ink and brush and wood-backed sheets of paper he brought for this very obstacle. “Forgive me, I should have begun with this.” The look on Song Zichen’s face is difficult to parse. He seems taken aback, but gratitude or consternation Lan Xichen cannot tell. He takes the implements. He is careful not to touch any part of Lan Xichen’s hands as he does so. It should not taste so much of disappointment. “Please do not apologize to me. It is I who overstepped.” “No!” The word bursts from him before Lan Xichen can moderate it, ringing panic through the trees. “I mean—no, please, you could not have known how I...it was a personal pain of my own, that I remembered suddenly. I did not think I would be so overcome as to make you feel unwelcome. Once more I apologize with all sincerity. You have no reason to defer anything to me.” Song Zichen is watching him with palpable discomfort, his shoulders uneasy under his robes. There is something in his eyes like guilt, and something else like understanding. The first makes Lan Xichen ashamed; the second makes him terrified. He takes a deep breath and folds his hands before him. “I am sorry to have a part in reminding you of your pain, even so.” The black strokes upon the crisp paper are sure, and lovely, speaking to years both of discipline and refinement. Lan Xichen curls his fingers so he does not reach out and take the paper for himself to study closer than Song Zichen is already showing him. He has done what he set out to do and yet—it feels like he is poised above a bridge of ropes, waiting to cross, or to fall into the yawning abyss. He does not wish to infringe upon Song Zichen more than he already has. He does not wish to be alone. Song Zichen’s touch—it had been the first, since Lan Xichen had left that crumbling temple—since A-Yao’s final, desperate push—that had not felt like it was wary of Lan Xichen’s cracks. “If it would not be too much of an imposition,” Lan Xichen says, carefully, through a throat that itself feels edged in sharp rocks. “I would be honored to pass an hour or so in meditation beside one of such integrity and renown.” Song Zichen tilts his head, sharply, like a bird. His mouth parts: not to shape soundless speech, this time, but in consideration. Lan Xichen resists the urge to tuck his hands behind his back and recite. He nods. There is always a space beside him. He moves, a single step like a mountain shifting, and there is space for Lan Xichen, too.

Post pictures of your first ever (fictional/celeb) crush to the latest one and tag five others to continue the game.
Ali tagged me, thanks. I guess 😘 @lanzhansmiles
A’ight so I’m simply taking this as an opportunity to show off my frankly impeccable taste 😌 *coughs into the crook of my elbow with my mask on and from a safe distance* More under the cut, godspeed!
I’m tagging uhh I really don’t want to expose anyone but uh. @morifinwes @ttaechwita @sunshine304 @treemaidengeek @flamingwell no pressure tho!!
Since 2006

Janina Fautz: Die Wilden Kerle, anyone?? Tbh i had a crush on quite a lot of the characters/actors but in hindsight Janina was and is the most influential one. Also probably my first ever girl crush (again, in hindsight bc it took me until 3 years ago to finally find out i’m queer lol)
Eva-Maria May: Yeah well I’m not gonna talk about where I know her from let’s say it was an incredibly bad soap opera my mom used to watch. She was one of the reasons why I went Yeah I Have Always Been Into Girls. I was pretty obsessed with her to the point where mini me secretly printed out a photo of her to look at lmaooo the signs have always been there and it’s truly amazing how I had been missing them for years
Amy Adams: Her as Amelia Earhart in Night at the Museum was also definitely a huge Thing to young me. Again, I had been completely oblivious about this crush for years
David Luiz: HAH! This is the point where we do NOT get into my football/soccer crushes bc this list would get WAYYY too long hahaha. I had to cut loads of people from my list for this post bc I develop a new celebrity crush every 5 minutes basically but yeah. David Luiz was definitely my biggest football/soccer crush out of..... everyone else
M*rvel

I don’t have a lot to say about any of them since I’m not into m*rvel anymore TFATWS makes me want to stick the tip of my toe back into m*rvel waters but otherwise NO THANKS
Sebastian Stan was, if my judgement of my archive is right, the longest highkey celebrity crush I’ve ever had. Mostly because I love Bucky a lot and he was so amazing in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I must’ve had a crush on him for as long as I had been in the m*rvel fandom
Recent Past

some celeb crushes from last year that were all more or less short-lived tbh
Ester Expósito: As it often goes I didn’t find her spectacular in the beginning but as Élite went on I started to develop a huge crush on her. I still find her pretty hot but I’m not invested in Élite so yeah..... I have no object permanence
Mina El Hammani: Got to know her through Élite, too. She’s so incredibly beautiful. Had a hard time choosing a photo of her bc I’d stare at every single one for ages. Wow.
Danger Days!Gerard Way: Hah! The ones of you who’ve been following me for longer might remember my posts about wanting to dye my hair neon red. Well, him’s the reason and also clinical depression. Ended up with natural red/ginger bc my hair is too thin for bleaching lel. ANYWAY
Maxence Danet Fauvel: Pretty short-lived crush from my Skam days
Ramy Moharam Fouad: So Ramy has a brother, Tamino-Amir Moharam Fouad, who makes INCREDIBLE music. Ramy made some of his music videos (directed them? not sure), that’s how he came to my attention. Idk man he’s just so incredibly beautiful.... gives me a hint of genvy, too......
Janelle Monáe: Became a fan when Make Me Feel came out, listened to the entire album for days and eventually inevitably crushed on her
Lera Abova: Saw her in ANИА and fell in love. I screamed to my friends for weeks about how she was the most beautiful human being I’d ever seen etc etc. Eventually my crush went away mostly, but I still think she’s stunning
Keiynan Lonsdale: Keiynan said FUCK gender and I said 😍😍😍 and that’s all you need to know.
Current

*deep breath* alright let’s gooo
Bright (Wachirawit Chivaaree): Crushed on him for as long as I watched 2gether/Still 2gether lmao. I still like him a lot and sometimes lose my mind over him but I’m not exceptionally Thirsty™
Tul (Pakorn Thanasrivanitchai) and Max (Nattapol Diloknawarit): If you search either of them on tumblr you will have to scroll for a long, long time to find seperate photos of them. However, I’m not patient enough so here we are. Re: Tul, actually I want to copy/paste what Ali said bc DAMN a man who is confident about his masculinity and sexuality really is kinda hot. Same goes for Max tbh. Also Max’ lips look so soft I [redacted]
Lukas von Horbatschewsky: Also known as Lukas Alexander. He did an amazing job in Druck and he’s just a person I admire in general. As one of the few out trans actors in Germany, he had a main role as a trans boy in Druck and also co-wrote Druck’s seasons 5 and 6. He’s just a huge role model to me and, apart from that, Big Crush Material (h i s e y e s)
Li Wei: Someone suggested him as Hua Cheng for the TGCF live action and my life hasn’t been the same since. While I’m open for whoever will get that role in the end, I could look at his face for hours and not get bored. Major Genvy, too.
Li BoWen and Liu HaiKuan: I will have to deal with these two in one paragraph bc LanLan bc they have the exact same effect on me which is. that they’re not 100% my type but I WILL go absolutely feral about them at regular intervals, if you know what I mean
Song JiYang: ohh honey. oh honey.......... hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I have a natural affinity for aquarius ppl and this one lives in my heart rent free. I’d even make him soup if he’d ask.
Wang YiBo: WELL HOLY SHIT. listen. LISTEN! the hype around him is 100% justified imo he really is That Bitch and I love him so so much for it. Fucking ICON
Honorary Mentions: Gender Envy

Here’s to the People I Thought I Had A Crush On But Not Quite until I learned the word Gender Envy:
Zhu YiLong: Man, this is the person who’s mainly responsible for me finding out AT ALL about not being entirely cis. The POWER he holds!!! His performance as Ye Zun in Guardian was like a breakthrough point for me which. certain people witnessed in real time hahaha oh I love this fandom!!
Zhu ZanJin: HIM. AAAH!! He’s literally so beautiful and whenever I see him I just go ZANZAN!! in my head and in the tags bc. well. hIM.
Xiao Zhan With Long Hair: Look, Xiao Zhan is always amazing but BLESS the person who made these manips. I can finally rest.
Wang YiBo: uhh what’s he doing here again?? Tbh YiBo is one of the few, if not the only person that gives me Major Gender Envy that I would also [redacted] if they asked. Do I want to be him or be with him? The answer is Yes.
I skipped the fictional characters bc I tend not to crush on them 👉👈 Instead I will just directly crush on the actors/actresses lol!
Thank you for bearing with me. As a prize, you can choose between a ladder supported forehead kiss, or a bowl of homemade soup. ❤
#[brother this took so fucking long]#[it was fun to reminisce but please never ask me to do this again ❤]#[sorry if anything doesn't make sense. i'm very tired my sleep schedule is fucked up and i have a major headache ❤]#[thanks ali for the tag it was really really fun!]#[also i think it's kinda sexy of me not to be ashamed of any of these. does therapy work? maybe so]#about#tag game#ali tag#r.txt

PROMPT 8: Talismans
It was really a miracle that Song Lan had gotten pregnant. The pair had literally cultivated a baby into existence. It hadn’t been planned. Of course, they had talked about someday having children, but they had always assumed Xingchen would be the one to carry their child .
Xingchen’s eyebrows scrunched together in worry as he watched his very pregnant cultivation partner-husband continue to make talismans at the table. Song Lan had already cleaned Fuxue and Shuanghua, dusted and swept their little 3-room cottage, and now he was making stack upon stack of talismans. Xingchen was so, so exasperated with his husband and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it. “Zichen, the physician said you need rest in order to avoid complications. Please, take a break and have a nap baobei.”
Song Lan hated being idle. He was not comfortable with doing nothing, besides he needed a distraction from the cramping pain in his lower belly. “Xingchen, I am not allowed to accompany you on night hunts nor am I able to practice my sword forms. Making talismans is all I am good for in this state.” He had not looked up from the paper until he had finished his stroke. The man had a big frown spread across his lips. He was wearing only a pair of soft linen trousers, feeling much too uncomfortable in the many layers of his normal attire.
He set the brush down and then put both hands to his bare belly, lightly rubbing. He was feeling sore today as he had been having false contractions for the past three days. The pain was not unbearable, but he was not able to rest and relax. Adding onto that, his baby seemed to be very interested in martial arts. They had been kicking all morning.
Xingchen came over, pulling a chair out next to Song Lan and sitting down. He knew Song Lan was feeling a bit miserable these days and he would do anything to make him feel just a little better.
Gently, Xingchen placed his hand over Song Lan’s. He looked down at his belly, smiling as he saw movement beneath Song Lan’s stretched skin. “They seem rather active today.”
“They are. They’ve been kicking all morning. With the cramping from the false labor… It has been a bit much.” Song Lan was tired, it felt nice to have Xingchen near him like this.
Xingchen reached up and stroked hair behind Song Lan’s ear, pressing his lips to Song Lan’s temple. “Let me take care of you A-Chen…” He moved his hand to lightly massage circles into the underside of Song Lan’s belly. “How does this feel?”
“Great… Can we move to the bed? This chair is hurting my hips…”
“Of course, love.” Xingchen gently helped Song Lan stand, supporting his weight and then wrapping an arm around him to escort him to their bedroom.
After a massage and some rather sleepy kisses, Xingchen had wrangled Song Lan into his arms for a nap.
PROMPT 11: Warm Hands
Song Lan was still feeling winded, panting as he watched the flurry of movement around the Hanshi. His ears felt like they were stuffed with cotton and his vision wasn't focusing. He had never felt this exhausted and weak in his entire life. People were speaking, but he couldn't hear them above the pounding of his own pulse.
A damp rag was being wiped across his neck and chest, cooling him down. He could feel someone gently wiping his hands and blotting his face. He felt sore and a bit empty but none of this concerned him.
Someone supported his neck and a cup with cold water was pressed to his lips. Song Lan relished in the relief as it quenched his parched throat.
He was starting to regain his senses. Worried silver eyes came into focus. A man clad in white and blue was holding his hand, stroking sweaty hair from his forehead. “Lan'er? Sweetheart, can you hear me?” A warm hand was placed to his cheek. His husband, Lan Huan was holding him. He had been here for all of it.
Song Lan felt safe, smiling at his husband weakly. “The babies… are they okay? Are they healthy?” He had yet to hold them. He hadn't even seen them or heard their genders. Song Lan had lost consciousness after giving birth to triplets.
Xichen gave him the sweetest smile, kissing his knuckles and then nodding. “You did so well, Lan'er. They're all healthy…” He looked away from his husband, calling a midwife to bring the three children to Song Lan's bed. He then put his attention back onto his husband. “You are so, so strong.” Xichen pressed a kiss to Song Lan's temple and it made the man smile wider. “Are you feeling okay?”
“Please, please can I hold them…”
Xichen hesitated. “You really… You need to rest, love. The birth was so, so hard on you sweetheart.”
“Please…” Song Lan squeezed Xichen's hand. “I need to hold them…”
Xichen couldn't say no to him. Song Lan let his husband stuff plush pillows behind him, groaning as his abdomen throbbed.
“Easy, Lan'er. You've over exhausted yourself.” Xichen settled himself next to Song Lan on the bed, giving him something steady to lean against.
Three midwives brought the little bundles over.
“Two sons and a daughter.” Lan Mengshi said, smiling as she placed one of the bundles in Song Lan's arms. “Your eldest.”
Song Lan stared down at the baby boy. Tears burned behind his eyes and he cooed, nuzzling the sleeping baby softly. “A-Huan…” He looked to his other children and the tears began to fall.
Xichen was holding the other two babies, smiling brighter. “You did so good, Lan'er…” Their other son was also sound asleep but their daughter was staring at them with wide eyes.
“W-we need to name them.” Song Lan was trying to keep himself from crying anymore tears right now. He needed to save his energy.
Xichen nodded, leaning in and kissing his husband's sweaty forehead. “What do you think?”
Song Lan stared at his first born, stroking his chubby cheeks and pressing his lips to the crown of his head. “Lan Xingchen… He is made of stars… Our little star.”
Xichen's heart nearly swooned. “Its perfect…”
Song Lan turned his attention to their second born in his husband's arms. “Lan Yang, Yang as is ocean.”
Xichen nodded. “Its fitting as a reminder for where we met. Our precious A-Yang.”
Song Lan nodded. He then looked back up to his husband. “You should name her. I've named both sons.” .
Xichen had in fact already chosen her name. “Lan Qing. Qing as in bamboo. A-Qing, our beautiful little sprout.”
Despite the pain and exhaustion, Song Lan couldn't be happier.
PROMPT 20: Sweetheart
Song Lan had woken that morning feeling a little congested and with the beginnings of a headache. By mid-afternoon, he had a low grade fever and was coughing so much that his throat was raw and burning. He had been napping most of the day, having called off from work to try and sleep off this sudden onset illness.
Mingjue placed the mug of hot water and honey onto the tray and then made his way back to the bedroom where his husband was resting. “Lan’er,” He placed the tray on the bedside table, sitting down next to Song Lan. “I brought some remedies to try.”
The man tiredly sat himself up, Mingjue stacking pillows behind him to make sure he was supported. Song Lan rested a hand on his very round belly. “There isn’t much we can do… I just need to-” His rough voice was broken off by another round of harsh coughing.
Mingjue gently rubbed between his shoulders, grabbing the mug and holding it until Song Lan could take it himself.
He sipped, sighing as the heat soothed his sore throat. “Honey?”
“Wen-yisheng gave me a list of things we can try. Hot water with honey, a humidifier.. There are some medications that I can pick up too. You can also take some Tylenol to help with the symptoms, we just need to make sure you don’t take too much.”
Song Lan frowned more, setting the mug down and then rubbing his belly with both hands. His eyebrows stitched together in worry. “I knew I should have been wearing a mask when we went out last week… It completely slipped my mind…”
Mingjue frowned, hating when Song Lan fretted like this. “Lan'er, you couldn't have known you'd get sick…” He pressed his lips to his forehead. The man felt a bit warmer than earlier and Mingjue debated on getting the thermometer. His husband was already a nervous wreck over the situation. If his fever had gone up, it might really send him into a spiral.
“Here, take this Tylenol.” He handed Song Lan the medicine and held a glass of water up to his lips after he swallowed it down. “Good…” he stroked the man's sweaty hair back.
“Mingjue, what if… what if this affects the baby? I am due soon and… and I am just…” hr was staring down at his stomach, cursing under his breath as tears built behind his eyes. These damned pregnancy hormones!
Mingjue kissed his temple, taking one of his hands and squeezing. “Sweetheart, the baby will be fine. Wen-yisheng said that the placenta is protecting them. There won't be any complications and everything will be okay.” He smiled reassuringly. “You need to rest so you can get better. Why don't you try and take a nap?”
Song Lan frowned more. “How can you be so calm right now?” He sniffled, reaching for a tissue and dabbing at his eyes, frustrated over his tears.
Mingjue smiled lightly, placing his hand on Song Lan's big stomach. “Huaisang was a sickly child. And teenager. Well… He still gets sick easily. I know how to take care of him and taking care of you is no different. Though…” He fondly smiled at Song Lan's belly. “ You are a much worse patient. Stubborn and a worry wart…”
Song Lan sighed and gave a small nod. “You're right…” He rubbed his belly again, soothing himself. “Will you stay…? I feel… more stable with you here. Less afraid…”
Mingjue nodded, kissing Song Lan's temple again. “Of course, sweetheart.” He climbed under the covers, Song Lan moving closer to the middle of the bed. Mingjue wrapped his arm over Song Lan, pulling his back to his own chest. He then placed his big palm over Song Lan's on his belly and held his husband until he managed to fall asleep.
