Outside, the amber glow of the parking lot lights shimmered through the mist, reflecting off wet concrete—a strangely comforting sight on a hot summer night. You fumbled for the keys to your Jeep, unlocking it just as Josh swept you into a whirlwind of a kiss.

The raindrops on the passenger door chilled your skin, but his lips were warm—hot, even. His breath flooded into your mouth, and a shiver ran through you, every proton in your body zapping to life. Josh was electric.

Tears were in his eyes. “I’m just glad to be with you right here in this moment…finally.” he whispered.

Joshua’s eyes always spoke the most emotion. Right now, they were vulnerable. He was looking to you for reassurance—for something.

Reaching over, you kissed his cheek, your fingers tangling in his curls, still matted with hairspray. The orange glow of the streetlights cast deep shadows over his tired features. The fine lines around his eyes looked deeper. He’s drained.

You stared at him for a long moment. Then, a teasing grin tugged at his lips.

He always did this—turned everything into a joke, even when the air between you was thick with something deeper.

The rain pattered softly against the window, a rhythmic hush filling the small space between you. Who is.... Xuân Cao Mạnh | Karma? - A Reading Guide

Xuân Cao Mạnh is an X-Men affiliated character from Marvel Comics first introduced in 1980. Xuân is a Vietnamese refugee who parents both died on the passage to America, leaving her in the care of her uncle and in charge of herself and her younger siblings. Xuân's family is very important to her and drives much of her story. Xuân is most commonly associated with her first team and close friends, the New Mutants, and spends a considerable portion of her appearances with them. Xuân is also a lesbian and an amputee!

Despite the heavy importance of her heritage to her story, it was not until 2023, some forty-three years after her introduction that her name was officially changed to something recognizable in Vietnamese. This interview, with Vietnamese comic creator, Trung Le Nguyen, who had the opportunity of writing Xuân in 2023, does a great job of breaking down the issues with the spellings we see in earlier comics. While the change has been made to correct her name now, for most of the issues in this reading list you will still see the unfortunate old name of Xi'an Coy Manh and the nickname "Shan."

Wait, how have I already reached 100? There aren't even the quirky films (like TiMER) or the fun horror trash (my love for Deep Blue Sea is endless). Didn't dive into European films (Amélie) or specific German stuff (bandits). I can do a 100 list for horror alone easily (omg not even The Haunting on here).

Anyway do not question how my mind wandered from title to title, also there is zero ranking involved. Damn, there are five on the list that I don't own on DVD or BD. hmmmm... What does favorite movie even mean? Who knows. In any case for the past few months I've gone back far more to stuff I already know instead of watching new things (that I plan to watch some day, but well, it never felt right).
