Abortion was already heavily restricted in Poland before this week.  Then the highest court issued a ruling that was a near-total abortion ban. The law now bans abortion even in the case of fetal abnormalities. This means, that abortion will be legal in only two cases: rape and when the life of the pregnant person is endangered. Stało się. Zostaliśmy pozbawieni wolności i możliwości decydowania o sobie. Zostaliśmy, nie zostałyśmy, bo wiem, że wielu mężczyzn również stoi murem za kobietami. Nie wiem w jaką stronę idzie nasz kraj, ale na pewno nie w dobrą. Zaczyna się era strachu. Kombinowania. Bo przecież kiedy ktoś będzie w ciężkiej sytuacji, to co będzie mógł zrobić? A no właśnie nic, bo noszenie martwego płodu nie ma wpływu na psychikę. Już nie mówiąc o tym, jak wpływa noszenie płodu, którego się nie chce na kobietę, która nie tylko przez 9 miesięcy będzie tę ciążę nosiła, ale też w wielu przypadkach przez resztę życia wychowywała. Płód, bo ustalmy jedno, to nie jest jeszcze dziecko, nie ma żadnych czynności życiowych. Nie rozumiem jak można być tak bezdusznym, egoistycznym stworzeniem, żeby decydować za los miliona kobiet. Nie rozumiem jak kobieta może zgotować kobiecie taki los. Nie rozumiem dlaczego facet ma decydować o tym, co się dzieje z osobami płci przeciwnej, o których tak naprawdę nic nie wie. Masz kutasa między nogami to się nim zajmij i przestań wpychać go tam gdzie go nie chcą. Tak samo jest z Twoim zdaniem. Dopóki sam nie staniesz przed sytuacją podbramkową, jedyne co możesz zrobić to spisać swoje myśli na kartkę, a później wyrzucić, bo nie masz prawa dyktować ich innym.

Wygrało życie, które i tak się skończy. Przegrało te, które przed sobą powinno mieć cały świat.

OK, I don’t know how to start this off, but I just want something to go out somewhere about this. Please excuse any ignorance that I may have. "Abort the Government"

Thousands of women are currently protesting against Poland's new abortion laws in cities across the country. A court ruling on Thursday banned almost all abortions - with exceptions only for cases of rape, incest, or where the mother's health is at risk. 

 Abortions carried out when the foetus is malformed, which accounted for 98% of legal terminations last year, have now been outlawed. Poland already had some of the EU's strictest abortion laws. Fewer than 2,000 legal terminations are carried out each year. But women's groups estimate that up to 200,000 abortions are either performed illegally, or abroad. 

 Protests were held in Poznan, Warsaw, Wroclaw and Krakow, among other cities, on Friday. It marked the second night of protests in the country, where strict measures against coronavirus ban gatherings of more than 10 people in most major cities. 

 In the early hours of Friday morning, protesters clashed with riot police outside the Warsaw home of Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski, who heads the governing Law and Justice (PiS) party. Police said officers used pepper spray and physical force when some protesters threw stones and tried to push through the cordon around the house. 

 Protesters gathered near his home again on Friday night, carrying signs with messages such as "This is war" and "You have blood on your hands". Police in riot gear blocked them from reaching the house. 

 Elsewhere in the country, demonstrators gathered in main squares, near churches and outside PiS buildings. Magda, a 34-year-old protester in the northern city of Gdynia, told journalists: "Women are not respected in this country. No-one is listening to us." 

 "It's a disgrace from the Polish state towards half of the population, women. We'll never forget it," said Krystyna Kacpura, head of the Federation for Women and Family Planning.

Polish constitutional tribunal has 15 members. Out of this 15 members 13 of them are men and they just decided that all women in our country cannot have power over their own bodies. I am disgusted beyond belief.
