whaaa??? or i just don’t get it

my “i just don’t get it” times are increasing. i did academically well in school,but...for those of you who might remember the sra reading test modules...i always tested lower on comprehension. it’s funny,because sometimes i understand things a lot of folks don’t, but don’t get the more basic things. i’m far from being a genius though...there is so much stuff i just don’t understand and is too advanced for me. i might be able to learn,but i don’t always want to. so,i think my comprehension is slow,but not low. 

my youngest sister is the most like me,and we are both autistic,and she wants a tshirt that reads ‘i don’t know what you mean’. we are both getting better at asking for clarification when needed and not feeling bad about it though.

like probably lots of folks,i worry about my brain health because of aging (i’m sweet 64) and because of covid’s potential effect on our brains,not to mention the anxiety of current times. and it’s not easy keeping up with cultural shifts because things happen faster and faster. still,i’m glad there are things i don’t know and i can still learn.

People against piracy fail to realize that no, I can’t just ‘buy it.’ They stopped making DVDs and Blu-Rays. They’re barely offering digital copies for download. I am not spending money I could use for food or bills to pay for a subscription service just so I can always have access to a beloved piece of media. Especially not when the service will remove media on a whim without concern for how the loss of access to that piece will make its artistic conservation nigh impossible.

For example, I recently learned that Disney+ had an original film called Crater. It’s scifi, family friendly, and seems cool - I would love to buy it as a holiday gift for my little brother! But: it’s exclusive to D+ and THEY REMOVED IT LITERALLY MONTHS AFTER ITS RELEASE.

The ONLY way I can directly access this film is through piracy. The ONLY available ‘copies’ of this film are hosted on piracy websites. Disney will NEVER release it in theaters, or as something to buy, and it may NEVER return to the streaming service. It will be LOST because we aren’t allowed to purchase it for personal viewing. If I can’t pay to own it, I won’t pay for the privilege of losing it when corporate decides to put it in a vault.

So yes, I’m going to pirate and support piracy.

The audacity to still publicly support Israel's actions even after the horrific bombings these last months and then turn around to say that the ones who oppose it are violent anti semites is just baffling

i really dont understand how you can grow up your whole life hearing stories about holocaust survivors and maps of giant family trees of hundreds of people where only 2 or 3 survived or families that were separated and had to leave people behind to die and not empathize with palestinians and instead have the complete opposite reaction and say none of this is happening and that its not a genocide... i fucking hate the world so much
