fluff 5 and suggestive 1 with megumi pls
give me some luck !
m. fusiguro. | my drug, my addiction.
cw: fluff, foul launguage, established relationship, canon-divergent, gn, civilian! reader. wc: 572. notes: i love him, also, suggestive will be posted seperately, probably in a couple days!
Every morning was the same; routine. Wake up together, get ready together, eat together. But today was different.
Work called, pleading you come early to make up for an empty seat on a project meeting you weren't particularly interested in taking. Neither was your boyfriend, who was glaring you down as you scrambled around your apartment. You were late, so was he, not that it was stopping him. His arm wrapped around your waist, tugging you in,
"Hey, I've got a mission today."
"Yeah, honey, when don't you?"
You laugh, raising a brow at him. He rolls his eyes, tugging you close as he leans in. Kissing his cheek, you try to pull away, thinking that was all he wanted, a little morning fix. But he doesn't let you, sharp eyes pouring into yours. His fingers tapped against your blouse, expectant. Megumi's arm didn't relax, holding you closer. You smirk smugly,
"You gotta' talk, Megumi."
He huffs,
"Come on, doll, it's a special grade today,"
You couldn't help but roll your eyes, swooning as he coyly batted his lashes at you. Megumi couldn't help but adore the playful smile on your lips, burning the light of his world into his memory for him to carry with him. Your eyes stared up at him innocently, brows raised in expressive curiosity and humor. He loved it, loved how you showed all the emotions he struggled to piece together so fluidly. Smiling, enjoying the meaningless banter, he leaned closer to you, breath fanning down your collar.
"I need some luck, yeah?"
"Mm... and I thought you were so skilled?"
You teased back, smiling as the two of you chuckled, his hand patting your back pleadingly.
"And I thought you would wanna give me a little—oomgh."
"Megumi!"
You laughed at his... interesting choice of sound effect, still held tightly against him. It didn't matter that the clock clicked because, between the two of you, no amount of time could make each other's company anything but the best. You knew you would get some scolding for clocking in late, as if you weren't going out of your way to come in early, but it didn't matter. Not when he was standing in front of you with that stupid half-smile. You wanted to grab his face, pepper him with kisses, but thats too easy and no fun. Grinning up at him, you chuckle,
"what the hell is that?"
"No comment. Please, baby, just give me one more kiss?"
Megumi pleaded, groaning when you just laughed again, pulling away from his gentle arms to grab your purse. Bumping your hip into his, you couldn't help the laugh that bubbled from your lips, making Megumi's phony pout break into an adoring smile. You two still stood at the front door, ready to get to your designated jobs, the rush hour of the bustling city audible through the walls. But it all fell away, like the sound of your laughter was a music sweeter than the honey you always put in his breakfast. His hands run up and down your back, wanting more of you all over again. His eyes glazed over your face, demanding as he tried, leaning forward, to get your lips to meet his skin again,
"C'mon!"
"Better watch out, or Nobara and Itadori are gonna find out how desperate you are~"
He laughs, leaning close, your noses brushing together,
"As if they don't know I love you."
notes: gege could never stop me from loving you. ty for the request!!

the greatest - s. gojo
gojo satoru x gn!reader ; gege give me that mf pen, ANGST ANGST, spoilers for the manga, mention of death, no y/n used, and reader is a little bit rude to shoko at first, 2.6k words
summary ; i wanted to write a more fulfilling ending for gojo because i feel he deserved it and gege i will never forgive you
melon’s recommended melody ; my love mine all mine - mitski
Waking up, hearing the chirps of life outside your window telling you it was a new day. Brushing the spot in bed next to you, only for it to feel empty and cold. Feeling the spot next to you became a habit that was hard to break. Getting up to brush your teeth, seeing the other toothbrush occupying the slot beside yours. Washing your face and feeling the chilly water hit your face. Heading to your living room, ironically it didn’t feel like it was lived in much. Opening the fridge not expecting much because you haven’t been to the groceries in, who knows how long? Sighing, not feeling hungry but knowing it wasn’t smart to leave yourself unsatiated. You go to the pantry seeing all kinds of sweets left untouched, you reach out to touch them but not grabbing one.
Feeling yourself tear up, you never had a sweet tooth and now thinking of something sweet made you sick to your stomach. How can you want something sweet when everything around you feels bitter? You felt nothing, saw no potential, you can’t even recall the last time you left the house. No drop of color, the world that was once made up of red and blue became black and white. You close the pantry wanting nothing more than retreat back to your bed for the rest of the day. Grabbing a glass from the cupboard, pouring yourself some water. Drinking it, feeling the burn from the coldness hitting your dry scratchy throat.
Placing it down in the sink filled with glassware, not worrying too much about the piling dishes. Heading to the door, cracking it open just a bit to feel the sun heat up your freezing house. Stepping out to sit down on the porch stairs, hugging your knees. Looking around at your yard, glaring at reminders of what used to be. Your vegetable garden withered, planting those to joke around with Satoru. Reprimanding him, saying just because he was the strongest doesn’t mean he could eat nothing but sweets. You look at your flowers, specifically forget me nots, lining the house now lifeless and devoid of any color.
You march to the flowers angrily picking them up and stomping on the remaining garden. How dare they die, didn’t they know you were going through enough already? It’s not your fault that you couldn’t stop them from growing, it’s not your fault you had to wake up everyday to make sure they lived. It was selfish, it’s not like you wake up and someone makes sure that you’re alive. In fact no one reached out to you anymore, not Shoko, not Iljichi, and certainly not Utahime. You didn’t expect them to but for them to not even acknowledge Satoru’s body or death? To not even let you have a funeral for him.
You wonder if anyone even cared for him beyond his title, you knew Geto did. No one else cared for Gojo the way you and Suguru did. You don’t blame them for not checking up on you, Shoko hated confrontation, Iljichi was always scared of Gojo, and Utahime hated Gojo with her whole being. Part of you wanted to think he was finally at peace with his best friend. Knowing they were together brought you some sort of peace in this meaningless world. Another part of you wanted to scream, were you not enough for him to stay here. Were you not enough for him to win the fight and come back home to you.
Going back inside looking back at the mess you created in your front yard. The mess representing the muck that was going on in your head, ever since that day. That stupid day he went to battle the “King of Curses”, only for him to lose. Satoru was not the humblest person, you always told him that would be his downfall. Of course you thought Gojo was the strongest but your Satoru was still a vulnerable human. Slamming the door, attempting to run to your room. Only to trip on shoes at the front door, looking behind you to see Satoru’s loafers. The ones he would wear to teach, he loved teaching so much.
He wanted to be everything he hadn’t received as a student. Knowing that his teachers never really considered him to be a kid more like a mere prize. A prize saying I taught the strongest sorcerer and nothing more. His students and him were close but at the end of the day he was just their teacher, nothing more. Yuji and Yuta tried reaching out to you, coming to your house to knock only to be met with nothing. Yuji and Yuta admired Gojo, they knew what it meant to be the strongest. How being the strongest came with all kinds of burdens to bear or how being the strongest meant having people admire and hate you.
You feel your breathing getting heavy, you were never the strongest. You were known to always break down, being the crybaby of your family but you couldn’t help it. Yet, you haven’t cried since Satoru’s death was officially announced. You suddenly had no ounce of tears left in you, opting to just shut everyone out instead. Crying was stupid anyway, why would you cry? Crying wouldn’t bring him back, crying and screaming at the top of your lungs wouldn’t stop him.
Part of you wondered if he knew he was going to die, if he knew that he was going to lose against Mahoraga. Or better yet lose to Megumi, you knew Satoru didn’t have it in him to kill one of his students. If he couldn’t separate the two souls then that only left one option. However, the past can’t be dwelled on too much because it can never change, you slam your fists on the ground in agony. Feeling your ankle hurting but also feeling everything you had in you hurting too. Wanting nothing more than someone to pick you up off the ground, that someone being Satoru. Damn you Satoru, even in death he had an eerie way of sneaking back into your life.
It’s not like you wanted to forget about him, he was your entire life. You stayed awake some nights reminiscing on the future you both had planned, looking forward to getting married.
“You think when were married you’ll still have that dingy blindfold on?”, you laugh, messing with his hair. Satoru places a hand on his chest, gasping dramatically. “One, it’s not dingy. Second, obviously not. I’d probably choose something more stylish like sunglasses or maybe a tinted monocle.”, you groan in disgust. “You will absolutely not wear a monocle at our wedding. You’ll look like the monopoly man.”
You lay on the ground, soaking in the feeling of the pain from your ankle. Hearing a knock at your door, choosing to stay quiet not wanting anyone to see you in this state. “I know you’re in there you know, your garden wasn’t this ugly when I stopped by yesterday.”, you wince trying to pick yourself up. Funny how she chooses right now to finally show up, “Leave Shoko. I don’t need anything.”. She sighs knowing grief probably made you bitter, “Then why are you wincing? Open the door so I can fix whatever mess you got yourself in.”
“It’s open, let yourself in Leir.”, you lay against a wall preparing to let someone see you at your worst. “What happened?”, her clothes and breath smells like cigarettes, you wondered what got her back into the habit. “What didn’t happen, is what you should be asking.”, you roll your eyes. Shoko looks at your ankle, checking if it’s anything serious, chalking it up to only being a sprain. “I came because I have something to give you.”, you look over to her shaking your head. You didn’t think you could handle anything more than what you have on your mind right now. She hesitates, not wanting to upset you but also wanting to get everything off her mind. “I cleaned up his body. If you want to do a proper burial for him. Or if you just want to see him one last time, give you some closure you need.”, she hears your breath falter.
Knowing she’s pushing her limits, “Why would I host a burial when no one cared for him like I did.”, you angrily glare at her. You feel your breath quicken, it starts picking up as your thoughts become more rampant. She stays silent, feeling that if you have to spew your anger at anyone, she’ll let it be her. You look at your now swollen ankle, your messy house that no longer felt like a home, and messy kitchen. Wondering when this all happened, why did you let it get this bad?
Shoko hands you a letter, “I know you’re frustrated and even bitter with what Gojo’s decision was but he never stopped thinking about you even in his last moments. I know I've been an absentee friend but I cleaned him up because that was the only thing I could do. Send him to the afterlife being the Gojo you and I both knew.”, you feel all the pressure and pain that festered in you slowly crack. Knowing that even though you were painting everyone as the villain, the only true villain was fate and time.
Your lip quivers, apologizing to everyone in your head knowing they’re all suffering in their own way. You lift up the note, opening it up to see a messily drawn Satoru in the corner. Everything that’s been withheld these past couple of months finally breaks, looking to the top seeing the words “my love” printed. Taking a deep breath before proceeding. “Don’t be so hard on yourself. There’s nothing you could’ve done to stop me from trying to defeat that cocky old bastard.”, you roll your eyes knowing how he hated Sukuna but still decided to fight him. “I sent my best students and Shoko to come check on you, can’t have you losing yourself over me, right?”, you choke on your own tears.
You stop reading halfway, scared to continue. Scared that if you continue, you’ll lose the last thing that has Satoru’s last traces on it. Shoko sits by you letting you rest your head on her shoulder. “He wanted you to read it. He gave one to Megumi and Nobara too, keep going for him.” Nodding, pacing your breaths scared you’ll start hyperventilating, “I know it’ll be lonely without my overbearing personality but I’m not gone. I’ll be watching over you or looking up at you, whichever you prefer.”, you laugh through the tears as you feel your bittersweet smile slowly appears on your face. “I know I left before I could fulfill my promise about our future but the ring I wanted to use is in my drawer hidden under my blindfolds. I knew you wouldn’t look there since they’re so dingy, right?”, your tears fall as you get up slowly.
Shoko gets up, reaching out to help you, as you start limping towards your room. Opening the dresser, scavenging for a box, looking in the corner to see a velvet box. Sobbing violently as you open it, seeing G.S. engraved into the inside of the band. Slipping it on before reading the rest of the note. “Living will feel harder with me gone because I know I would feel empty if I had to live without you. I want you to live, live and never forget me. You’ll surpass me in time and age but I'll be waiting for you no matter what, It’s not your time yet. When we meet again I will just be Satoru, not the strongest but only your Satoru. Make me proud, my love, till we meet again. P.S. Nows a good time to tell you, I finished all your chips, whoopsies!”. “I knew it.”, you laugh while crying. Shoko watches you feel the writing on the paper as if it was him.
Gently caressing the last thing he touched, the last words he engraved just for you to feel at ease. You lay against the bed, feeling everything within you give out, he’s actually gone. Shoko pats your back, letting you know she’s here. Even though she knows you only want Gojo right now, no one else even existed within this moment. People thought Satoru was selfish only caring about himself, when in reality he spent even his last moments scraping up letters to put others at ease with his decision, that was your Satoru.
“Will you show me him, one last time, please.” You look over at Shoko pleading. She nods, “I have to take you there to heal your ankle anyways”. You get up to get in her car to make it back to Jujutsu High. Fiddling with your ring the whole way there. Asking to see him on impulse, not even thinking about your appearance. Not really caring anyways, who do you have to impress? Shoko helps you out of the car, being cautious of your ankle.
She first treats your ankle, you slowly catch your breath. Anticipating seeing Satoru for the last time. Shoko guides you, “I cleaned him to the best of my ability. The stitches are kind of gruesome but it was a last minute call to action.”, you trace his face. Seeing the scar from his forehead, disgusted that the last resort was using Satoru as a weapon. You see your tears fall onto him, wiping them away. Shoko excuses herself, letting you have your last moments with him. “Satoru, you’re not in pain anymore, right?”, naively waiting for his answer. “You look so handsome my love, even in your last moments.”, crouching down to grab his hand. “I’ll never forget you as long as I live, Satoru Gojo.”, you kiss his cheek, feeling his cold skin on your lips.
“I’m so mad at you. I wish you could come back to life for just five minutes so I could reprimand you one final time.”, silence hanging in the air as you take in his appearance. Combing your fingers through his hair, “Damn it Satoru, why couldn’t you be selfish just this one time.” Even though he was in front of you lifeless like your flowers, a part of him still felt so alive. His love for you never died, not even beyond death, that was all you needed to live on. You let go of his hand, walking towards the door. Leaving the room, looking back at him one last time, “I love you Satoru, that’ll never change.”.
Even though living without Satoru was difficult, you felt him all around you. Going outside to water your beautiful garden varying with blue and white flowers. Going shopping and getting something sweet to commemorate his unbeatable sweet tooth. Teaching at Jujutsu High, to continue his legacy. Visiting his gravestone to tell him about your day, buying a meal for you and him. The pain never went away but you found comfort in it. His belongings were still placed in your home, never having the heart to put them away. You leave a spot open in your bed for him, touching his pillows softly before sleeping. Putting his shoes away neatly and even polishing them. Getting his mug to place it right next to yours in the morning, feeling comforted by the traces of himself he left behind. He was gone but he’s still existed within you, within his students, and within his legacy. He was loved and he would never be forgotten.

hello it's me again not sure if it's alright to request one more (literally just ignore this if not) and its also not y2k but i'd like to request work song by hozier for nanami especially "no grave can hold my body down, i'd crawl home to her" angst with a happy ending during/post shibuya (no dying please) and reader is also a healer like shoko
thank you so much and congrats again 🫶🏼
Work Song
No grave can hold my body down, I’ll crawl home to her
Pairing: Nanami x f!reader
Word Count: ~1.6k
cw: mentions of d*ath, bl*od, burn injuries, canon-divergent, set in the canon-universe during the Shibuya Incident Arc, MAJOR spoilers up to Shibuya Arc, angst, hurt/comfort, established relationship, happy ending
Summary: You’re a healer working with Shoko inside the medical tent at Shibuya Station while Nanami, your boyfriend, is in the line of fire for the battle ahead. After an especially life-threatening attack, Nanami, on the brink, runs into an old friend, who helps guide him back home.
Author’s Note: @75songs thank you so much for sending in another request for the y2k karaoke party, always appreciate your love and support! I ADORE this song and have honestly always thought it was perfect for Nanami. I am an anime only and am not caught up with season 2 yet, so I didn’t want to read too much into what exactly happens during this arc, so some of the details may be inaccurate, just a heads up. This one got me in my feelings. I will forever hold a grudge against Gege for what they did to Nanami. Anyways, likes, reblogs, and/or comments are always appreciated! Thanks so much for reading! Divider by @/saradika.
October 31st. Maybe in another timeline, another reality, you and Nanami would be celebrating Halloween tonight, passing colorful candies and decadent chocolates to kids going door-to-door across the neighborhood. You’d force him to dress up in a silly costume, one that matches yours, despite his reluctance at first. Deep down, you know he likes this; domestic bliss, especially with you. The idea that the two of you could live a peaceful life together, away from the dangerous world of curses and Jujutsu sorcery. You discuss it constantly, dream about it, strive for it. A few more years, he says, and he’ll retire. There’s still more work to be done, people to be saved.
You’re inside the medical tent beside Shoko, helping her set up the cots, anticipating injured sorcerers to arrive soon with the battle underway. Masamichi Yaga, Jujutsu High’s principal, stands guard outside, determined to keep the medical team, especially Shoko, safe from any posing threats. There’s no way to know what’s happening until people start arriving, in need of medical attention. You’re a healer too, but not nearly as skilled as Shoko, your mentor. Still, she encourages you to join them tonight, needing all the help they can get.
“Are you feeling okay?” she asks, setting up the last bed. Observant as ever, she notices your quiet demeanor.
You nod, giving her a weak, unconvincing smile. “Yeah.”
“Nanami is going to be fine,” she assures you, sensing the root of your anxiety. “When this is all done, the two of you should take a vacation together.”
Relaxing a bit, you reply, “We already have our trip to Malaysia planned in a few months.”
She smiles kindly. “There you go. Something to look forward to.”
Her words ease some of the tension, but there’s dread settling in the pit of your stomach, and it won’t go away until you see Nanami again in one piece.
The waiting game finally ends as soon as the first wounded sorcerer shows up in the tent, initiating nonstop chaos. You assist Shoko diligently, making sure everything is prepared for her to perform her Reverse Cursed Technique for those who need it, and patching up those who don’t, with less severe injuries. You’re constantly on the lookout to see a familiar face, trying to get an update on what’s happening out there. None comes, until you see Kiyotaka Ijichi limping towards the entrance, blood spread across his shirt. You and Shoko rush towards him, carrying him over your shoulders, leading him to an empty cot, gently laying him down.
Shoko, showing panic on her face for the first time all night, inspects him carefully. “Ijichi, can you hear me?” She’s always had a soft spot for him, often telling you how endearing she finds him, always a nervous wreck in front of her. Seeing him like this is surely jarring, even for her, who’s as tough as nails.
He nods weakly, mumbling something incoherent, blood sputtering from his mouth. You remove the shattered glasses from his eyes, wiping his lips with gauze. Shoko starts to work on him, directing you to check on the other patients. Before you can follow orders, you feel his weak grip on your wrist. You turn to face him, focused on his lips as he quietly utters, “Nanami.”
Your ears perk up at the mention of your boyfriend’s name, leaning in closer to hear the rest of what he has to say, taking his time through labored breaths. “He…saved…me…”
You do your best to keep your composure, nodding at him silently, blinking away the tears welling in your eyes. Unsure how to respond, you leave them, going to the other side of the tent to check on the remaining sorcerers.
With everyone else in stable condition, you take a minute outside the tent to sob into your hands, praying that Nanami is still alive. Unaware of your surroundings, you’re startled when Yaga approaches, his large figure sitting beside you. “You alright?”
You wipe away your sniffles on your sleeve. “Just…nervous.”
He crosses his arms over his chest, sighing. “Yeah, I get it. But Nanami is one of our strongest sorcerers. I don’t think you have anything to worry about.”
Again, more words of comfort, but not enough to ease the nervous flutter in your belly. Yaga recognizes this and adds, “Nanami would fight through the fires of hell instead of letting himself die. Not because he wants to live for himself. But because he wants to live for you.”
You face him now, processing his statement. He chuckles, lifting his sunglasses to meet your gaze. “That man has never been so smitten in his life. He’d crawl out his grave just to be with you, I guarantee it.”
~~~
The last thing Nanami remembers is desperately wishing he was in Malaysia with you instead of at Shibuya Station right now. He wakes up, sitting in one of the seats on the platform. It’s eerily quiet with no one in sight. The distinct sounds of trains on the rails or the hustle and bustle of people moving along is strangely absent, and it occurs to Nanami that this may be a dream.
He's sure of it when he feels a nudge to his side, turning to face Yu Haibara sitting next to him. There’s a warm smile on his boyish face, dressed in his Jujutsu High uniform, exactly as he was many years ago when Nanami last saw him, alive and well. The same bright, earnest eyes he remembers vividly of his best friend. He swallows hard, an uneasy feeling surrounding him. Is he seeing a ghost? Or is this the afterlife?
Haibara laughs, and Nanami is snapped out of his reverie and taken immediately back to 2006, when he first met his friend during orientation. He can’t help but grin, happy to see him still so lively. “Well, aren’t you going to greet your old friend, Nanami?”
Nanami does, hugging him, astonished to feel him in his arms almost like a real person. Almost. “What are you doing here?”
“Just came to visit you, that’s all.”
Nanami lets him go, studying him carefully, looking for any signs of decay. When he spots none, he asks him, “Am I dead?”
Haibara shakes his head. “Not quite. But you’re pretty damn close.”
“I am?”
“Yeah. So you better hurry and get home quick.” Haibara points towards the railings, now illuminated at one end by a blinding flash of light. “Yuji’s waiting for you.”
“Itadori? How do you know – “
Haibara then says your name with a big smile. “Yeah, I know her too. They’re all waiting for you, Nanami. You don’t want to keep them waiting any longer, do you?”
It takes a while for Nanami to get up, and when he does, he’s off balance, legs wobbly, body unsteady. Haibara helps him, offering his shoulder, the two of them walking slowly towards the light. “I really like her, you know. Your girlfriend.”
“You do?” Nanami asks, hobbling beside him.
“Yeah. She’s really nice, really pretty, and she eats a lot, especially with you,” he chuckles. “You know how much I like that.”
“Yeah I do.”
“And I’m a good judge of character, so I think she’s perfect for you. If that means anything,” he says, proudly.
“It does. It means a lot.” They’re near the edge of the platform now and Nanami will have to hop down to reach the end of the tunnel.
“Are you going to marry her soon?” Haibara asks, pausing just before the edge.
Nanami nods, grinning. “I’m planning to propose during our vacation in Malaysia.”
“Good. Good.”
He’s tempted to stay longer, wanting a few more moments with his friend, but he knows that time is ticking. He hugs him again, squeezing him tight. “Take care, Haibara.”
“You too, Nanami. I’ll be looking out for you.”
His chest constricts, jumping off the platform, landing roughly on the railings, blinking away the tears in his eyes. It’s sweltering now, the light emitting an intense heat from within. He gives Haibara one last glance, cherishing the happy expression on his face as he waves goodbye to him before walking into the light.
Seconds later, Nanami wakes up with a gasp of breath, vision blurred, a droning pounding beating against his ear drums. It soon fades and only Yuji’s panicked voice yelling from behind him is heard. He’s being dragged by the armpits, away from the battle. Smoke radiates from his entire form, and he can barely move. In fact, he can barely feel anything at all.
They reach the medical tent, Itadori yelling for help the whole way. Yaga is the first to reach them, his usual calm demeanor wavering at the sight of Nanami, body half-burned from the explosion. They carrying him delicately inside, resting him on the only empty cot left. He wants to close his eyes; he’s so exhausted, and sleep is the only thing to bring him peace right now. That, or you.
As if his prayers were heard, you appear at his side, truly a vision, even while you sob for him, holding his mangled hand in yours, begging for him to stay with you. He can die happy now, seeing your face, knowing that you’re here, alive, heart beating, surviving. Can he do the same? Can he survive this? All he knows is that he’s trying with every fiber he has left in his being. He won’t leave you, not like this. Not without experiencing life on the outside with you.
It’s in this moment that he vows to endure. Even if he has to crawl out of his grave to do it, he’s determined to be with you again.
~~~
November 1st. Maybe in another timeline, another reality, Nanami is gone. Not in this one, though. Instead, you sit beside him, healed and in one piece thanks to Shoko, fingers laced with his, careful not to squeeze too tightly. Yuji and Ino are at his other side, talking animatedly about how amazing Nanami was the entire fight, and all he can do is lay there, smiling. Happy to be alive. Happy to be with you.

I don’t think Gojo died dissatisfied, or with any regrets.
Just a personal opinion that I wrote on twitter/X but I also wanted to capture and put into words here.
I can see how and why it can be interpreted that he did die with at least 1-2 regrets. However... as I read and re-read and thought about it to the point of being overthunk (lol), I have come to conclude (for myself at the very least), that he died with peace in his heart.
First we see him grumble about being wrong about dying alone because he told Megumi this. Then, he said he had unfinished business with informing Megumi about his dad, to which being a largely accepting/stoic person (kinda like the “resignation man” thing again that Gege described him - not necessarily in a negative way) really helps, because he readily accepts that he left it to Shoko and would be taken care of on his behalf.
So with that regard, he was at peace.
Next, Gojo admitted that he couldn’t reach Sukuna, and for that, he was apologetic/sorry/regretful (Not so much disappointed, due to the usage of the phrase 申し訳なく which conveys more of a sense of humility and responsibility, rather than feelings of being let down).
This is an important one for me... because if we understand how human bodies work in real life, and also if we subscribe to some form of faith/spirituality (in this case maybe Buddhism), the physical body actually takes time to die and the soul therefore takes time to depart the body.
We see Gojo smirk at the end of Sukuna’s speech saying that Gojo had “cleared his skies” and would be remembered by him for as long as he lived.
This can be interpreted in two ways (or both) - one, that those words were conveyed and Gojo heard them, understanding that he did reach Sukuna in some way. And 2nd that he smirked knowingly that he could “bet on the future” / the next generation, with what Yuta would do with his body…
Which also aligns with his soft reaction to what Nanami said about betting on the future. Gojo did his best with his students too.
So much so that he jokes with Yaga that he was wrong about sorcerers all dying with regret!
So with the body taking time to die, I see it as something similar with what happened with Jogo and Choso - their last moments took some time to happen.
As Jogo was burning, he met with his friends and had his send-off / acknowledgment from Sukuna that he was strong, that it was fun, and that he could stand proud. Jogo died feeling he had worth and believed he would reunite with his friends.
As Choso was shielding Yuji (I’m still not recovered from this btw) he also had his send-off at the long table with Yuji. He died protecting his brother, which gave him absolute meaning and purpose as a human being and not a curse. Similar situation at the end can be said about Nanami (arguable whether the process of dying was beginning to happen with his hallucinations of being at the beach) with his brief send-off with Haibara standing before him. They were consolidating their lives at their final moments. Expressing any regret/sorry’s helped them pass on peacefully. I’ll spare you the picture of mortally wounded Nanami 😢
Another one I won’t put a pic of would be Hajime’s death where he and Sukuna have an exchange too. I don’t know if he died with regret or not, but he got his answer at the very least - what he was searching for.
As for Nobara, we see her with the chairs, her thoughts and reflections - saying her farewells / apologies, and finally concluding that her life wasn’t so bad 😢
Those with mortal wounds to the head seem to die a little more immediately, so their vision of salvation / death dream / whatever you want to call it - appears to happen a little bit earlier. But it doesn’t stray too far from the theory that a “good death” comes to some of the characters in the jjk world and it exists in a space... uhh... we can describe as “between dream and reality”??? 🫣 idk about what/who is right or wrong. We know different characters have different theories about things - just like in real life I guess. Nevertheless I (as a reader) want to believe there is some kind of afterlife.
Back on topic: Gojo’s other “disappointment” was that he wished that Geto was there to “pat him on the back”. He would have been satisfied if Geto was there.
And now, well, Geto was there. Flowery speech bubbles and all. So I think the fact that he was with him as a soul, reunited, was enough of a pleasant surprise.
Enough for Gojo to go into “husband is home from a hard day’s work - time to let go and grumble” (lol). And Geto wasn’t a flower because Gojo wanted him to understand him, so I can see how this was satisfying for Gojo, who felt he wanted to catch up to Geto.
Narratively/Thematically it also makes sense that Gojo was at Geto’s end (sending him off), and Geto was at Gojo’s end (picking him up). You know... “you’re late”x2 “you’re early”? “I was left behind”x2 “I have to catch up?” (These two were just busy chasing each other).
Yeah. It wouldn’t take away the satisfaction over all that happened just because Geto wasn’t there to pat him on the back - because then dying would leave him behind. And crucially, Gojo prayed that being there at the airport wasn’t a dream. So he was satisfied with being reunited and being there with everyone.
My conclusion is basically this: I think that Gojo fully died physically when he smirked. A human body left to bleed out with a wound like that would take time to stop functioning. But we know that mercifully he was mostly dead, which was why his consciousness was at the airport. Arguably, where his soul needed to be. He would’ve internalised Sukuna’s message as his body physically died, which could explain why it reacted.
So if we believe that it wasn’t just a hallucination and there is an afterlife (there are many reasons to believe there is, with talk of soul resonance, reincarnation, etc.), just as how Geto knew Gojo fought Sukuna, the souls in the afterlife have awareness of what goes on in the world of the living.
I’m pretty certain that one way or another, Gojo would have received the knowledge that Sukuna had praise for him, even if he couldn’t reach him with his humanity. So there were essentially no “regrets”.
Gojo was satisfied with having left the information for Megumi for Shoko to deliver, with how he died in battle to someone stronger, that he was able to satisfactorily go all out & felt he had fun, that Sukuna acknowledged him, that he could bet on the future, and that he was also reunited with Geto & his friends from his youth.
Yes, so… I believe that Gojo died satisfied.
🥲 RIP Gojo Satoru. I hope you and Geto have a good time in the afterlife.

MARTYRDOM (satoru g.) !
features: satoru gojo
contents: MAJOR SPOILERS (236 to 261). death. major character death. heavy angst. grief. crying. blood. bile mentioned. self-inflicted wound (knuckles). set in sukuna raid. hurt no comfort. some fluff if you go blind. i'm sorry. 1.8k words
notes: i'm actually gonna commit i hate gege so much. @saexy because ur my fav and u have to suffer with me! <333
the december air has always found a way to work it's chill deep into your bones. it makes your teeth chatter and a trill run up your spine. but there was an unusual heat burning in your sinuses.
sitting in the observation deck, huddled around a projection of the battlefield with the few people who understood what was actually happening in the world. your eyes burn, having been too devoted to whatever image was displayed to take a second to breathe. lungs stuttering and beginning to claw up your throat for single shred of air.
but you don't move.
no.
you cannot move.
there's a faint ringing in your ears, pounding louder and louder until a scream rips through the deafening silence. you don't even recognize it as your own, nor do you feel your kneecaps colliding harshly with the stone floor.
there he is. satoru gojo. the man you have loved for as long as you can remember. unmoving.
oh.
wait...
he just moved.
false alarm. it was just the top half of his body falling from the world-cutting slash that sukuna had just used to kill the strongest sorcerer of the modern age.
hot tears run down your face as your body moves instinctively to try to shatter the screen, held back by the clammy hands of kusakabe. your chest heaves in a gasping breath, only drawn in to fuel the wails erupting from your throat.
out of the corner of your eye, you can see yuta wincing, eyes drawn away from the scene of you crumbling. no one speaks, seemingly just as shocked as you. yet no one else cried.
it feels as if you are the only one left out of an unknown message, a warning that foretold of the events playing out in front of you.
because why would they tell you?
weak, pathetic, non-sorcerer you. you who can only see cursed spirits when in high stress because of an unfortunate accident with a sorcerer as a child. you who has no cursed technique, no ability to even harness your own cursed energy in basic imbuing. you who was possibly the weakest, the only one crying for the strongest.
teeth scrape against your tongue as the metallic taste of iron begins to fill your senses, going limp in kusakabe's hands. he lets go. your ears ring, the sounds of their hushed, urgent whispers escaping you.
you see yuta leave out of the corner of your eye, it doesn't register. you watch, numb, as kashimo and hakari charge into battle. the electric reincarnation is killed like fodder the second sukuna takes flesh.
for a long while, your sight is blurry, phasing in and out of reality in moments, recalling everything you loved about satoru gojo.
"satoru, who do you always wear your sunglasses when your not at work?" your voice asks, much softer and higher, a memory of youth. the two of you are maybe nineteen years old: young and stupid.
the white-haired man's blue gaze peeks over the rim of black lenses, confusion evident. then he remembers that you aren't like him, you don't know what it's like to constantly see filth crawling the streets. sweet y/n who doesn't even know that there's a flyhead buzzing around the room like a gnat.
you're untainted by this world, not ruined by jujutsu. you know it exists, only because of him and a run-in with a sorcerer when you were eight. but you don't know what it's like, and you never will: which is the greatest blessing satoru could ever wish you to have.
"i just like how they look, i am a natural beauty after all." he hums, eyes rolling as a grin parts his pink lips. because if he could help it, you wouldn't ever have to know what the world was truly like.
a clamor disrupts your thought, hearing shoko rushing out of the room. your eyes widen, stumbling shakily to your feet, catching your balance against the wall. maki mumbles something to try to get you to say, but you don't hear her.
chasing after the sound of peach-heels clicking against tiled floor, you catch a glimpse of white hair under a bloodied sheet. then a stainless steel door is slammed shut.
"shoko, please, let me see him..." you plea, hand fumbling with the knob, only to find the exam room locked. tears burn hot behind your eyes, sweaty palms pressing against the cold metal: fogging it up. your heart stops as you realize the possibility that gojo planned for his death.
deep down in your heart, you knew he wouldn't let himself rest, even when his life had long-departed his corpse. it makes you desperately knock against the door, mind remembering the pseudo geto that had trapped satoru in the prison realm.
"shoko, you can't do this to him, you can't just use him like this. you of all people should know what this means..!" your voice is shaky, panic rising in your veins as you remember the night staoru shared his broken heart with you.
"what kind of question is that? you can be both." your voice is older now, aged twenty-seven. white hair is strewn over your thighs, deft fingers carding through snowy tresses. satoru hums, eyes closing.
he reaches up, finger flicking teasingly against your forehead. "no one but you thinks that, angel. to the world, i am either 'the strongest' or 'satoru gojo.' that is simply how it works for me." his tone was even, nonchalant even. as if this was a reality he had co,e to terms with through a long life of turmoil.
a pout curls your lips downwards, looking into pools of serene blue as satoru stares right back up at you. a sigh puffs from your lips, hunching over to press a kiss against his forehead, pushing strands of ivory out of your way.
"to me, you'll always be my 'toru..."
memories fade away like dust in the wind when the clatter of metal jars you back into reality. it'ls likely shoko setting her instruments against her steel tray, likely preparing to operate on the corpse of the man you have never been able to love as much as you wished.
"shoko, please. please let him be human before being 'satoru gojo' or 'the strongest,' let him rest." the words fall from your lips like a prayer, desperation dripping in your tone. sinking to your knees, back pressed against the door, head in your hands. "you know i can't do that, y/n..."
the world moves to fast to allow grief to process. and fate was a cruel mistress. she had a penchant for kicking the weak while they were already down. which was why yuta okkotsu was being rushed behind the door you were restricted from entering: a large laceration running diagonally along his stomach.
the same wound that killed satoru, simply shallower.
but the difference was that yuta was conscious and alive.
he met your eyes for a moment, a weak smile on his face. and that same steel door was slammed against you once again. but you heard what the boy had said before it clicked shut and locked.
and the words shattered you further, if at all possible.
"i'm sorry, y/n, i'll try to bring him back to you in one piece."
it was so quiet, so faint, so soft that you just barely heard him. but it sent a wave of heat through your body, fists pounding against the steel with a reckless abandon, no matter the blood smearing over it, nor the pain pulsing from your knuckles.
deep down, you knew what was about to happen.
a part of you knew the second they retrieved gojo's body. you weren't enough of a fool to think it was simply for a proper burial. but the foolish part of your heart wanted to believe it so desperately.
you didn't need to speak, heavy sobs coming out of you, throat rubbed raw from screaming far too much in far too little time. they were going to stuff a child: yuta into your sweet satoru's body. like some sort of marionette puppet. just so the man could die for them twice.
"why did you start teaching, satoru?" again, younger, stupider, twenty five and beginning to thrive. he looks up from the small stack of papers in his hand, legs kicked up on his desk: the least teacher-like way to sit.
for once, he's serious, blue eyes looking straight through you, as if you weren't even there. it sent a chill up your spine, frozen in place. the man hums, eyes closing in thought and you can finally breathe.
finally he speaks, voice certain and doubtless. "i am going to teach the next generation of jujutsu, so that they will never have to bear the burden of being the strongest alone. and one day, they will succeed me. no one should be allowed to take youth away from young people."
you recognize the familiar look in his eyes, one that trancended this plane: that went beyond his own mortality. satoru gojo had never once been afraid of death, as if the concept entirely was foreign to him.
he doesn't react when he burns his hand on the stove, just running it under cold water and returning to what he was doing. he doesn't see a crash and think how it easily could've been him. he doesn't feel his throat begin to close up when death is narrowly avoided.
it was as if satoru gojo had known he would die a martyr since the moment he was born.
and there was a possibility he did.
footsteps without the click of a heel sound behind the door, sending bitter bile up your throat that burns against the rawness from your wails. tears well up instinctively, as if to blur your vision to prevent you from seeing what you knew was inevitably coming.
the lock clicks open, and you nearly die.
there stands satoru gojo, the same as before he left this morning.
but everything is wrong.
the way he stands. the rhythm he draws breath. the order his eyes scan over your face. the pattern he steps in. the way his hands feel when grasping yours.
"i'm sorry, miss y/n, but the fate of the world rests on this."
it was all wrong.
you couldn't even bare to look satoru- no. yuta in the eyes, knowing you'd have to see yourself in those crystalline irises, and you'd have to see the state that the world's treatment of your one and only left you in.

You placed Satoru in front of you, hoping his figure would shield you from view. Of all the clubs in Tokyo, why did you have to run into that jerk here? You nervously bit your thumb, trying to come up with a plan to avoid being seen.
“Birdie?” Satoru tilted his head and looked at your face.
You sighed. That was true. You and Satoru were about to cross a line that had no turning back, but seeing that person threatened to ruin everything.
"Huh..." You looked at Satoru, trying to make the situation lighter. “No big deal.” You mumbled, shaking your head.
But Satoru saw through you. “There's someone here you don't want to see, right?” He deduced, his tone soft but insightful.
Your heart sank. How did he know?
"How...?" You started, before he interrupted you.
"Your face dropped when you saw someone behind me and positioned me to protect you.” He explained calmly.
You blinked in surprise, amazed at him. How could he be so observant? Despite your attempt to hide it, Satoru saw right through you, leaving you feeling exposed and vulnerable. You swallowed hard, feeling a mix of relief and apprehension wash over you.
You raised your gaze a little to face Satoru's. “I… Yes there is someone here I would like to avoid.” You admitted nervously.
Satoru's expression was replaced with one of concern. “Do you want us to leave?” His voice sounded worried.
You were conflicted, a part of you wanted to leave, the atmosphere had become somewhat uncomfortable knowing that that person was there. But the other part, the part that wanted to continue enjoying with your friends, that wanted to continue dancing with Satoru and that felt safe being close to Satoru's presence, wanted more than anything in the world to stay there.
Taking a deep breath, you shook your head and smiled. “I want to stay.” You said firmly.
“Okay birdie, but if you want to leave, tell me.” He said, leaning down to get closer to you. “Let’s go where everyone else is.” He grabbed your hand once again, just as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
As you and Satoru walked side by side towards where the basketball players and the girls were, you felt a pang of reluctance as you let go of his hand when you reached the group. It was like a part of you wanted to keep holding on to him, not ready to let it go.
Quickly sitting down next to the girls, you tried to distract yourself from the feeling of emptiness. Starting a conversation with your friends helped you momentarily, but your thoughts kept returning to Satoru and to that person.
Looking at Satoru, you found him immersed in a conversation with his teammates, his smile illuminated his features. A bittersweet pain settled in your chest as you realized how much you enjoyed his company and the warmth of his touch.
“Something happened?” Kyoko whispered in your ear. You clenched your fists on your knees, Kyoko was the only one that knew about that guy and you knew her well enough to know that she would start to worry incessantly, so wanted you to avoid telling her.
“Don't worry, you know that my battery wears out after drinking a little more than the usual.” You smiled, not giving any signs of importance.
Kyoko looked at you unsure as if she should believe you or try to get out of you what you were hiding but she ended up nodding and trusting your words. The conversation flowed normally up until Shoko announced her intention to step outside for a smoke, you rose from your seat, claiming the need for fresh air, you followed her lead. Satoru's concerned gaze followed you, but you reassured him with a simple gesture, telling him to stay calm.
Stepping out of the club, the cool night air greeted you, washing over your cheeks and your uncovered legs. As you took a deep breath, you felt a sense of relief flood over you.
Beside you, Shoko lit her cigarette, the glow illuminating her features in the night. You stood in companionable silence for a moment, simply enjoying the tranquility of the night and the gentle rustle of the breeze.
“You want?” Shoko shook the pack of cigarettes in front of you.
“It’s been a while since I smoked.” You told her.
“Oh you left it? Shit I shouldn’t have offered you.” She said, putting the box away.
“I quit when we were in first grade, Kyoko hated that I smoked and helped me quit.” You explained.
“When did you start smoking?” Shoko asked you. “If you want to tell me, of course.”
“I think I was 15… I was dating my first boyfriend at the time and he was a heavy smoker, so he kinda dragged me in.”
“Shit that’s awful.” Shoko gasped. “I was 17 and it was due to stress of not being able to get into college.” She let the smoke out of her lips. “At the end I got in but didn’t gave up smoking.” She shrugged her shoulders. “Now that Suguru and Kyoko are dating, maybe Suguru also quits smoking thanks to her.” Shoko smiled. “So you and Kyoko have been friends since the first year?” She said, taking another drag on her cigarette.
“Yeah, she was the one to approach me and ever since then we have been together.”
You smiled remembering how Kyoko approached you that late spring when you were sitting on a bench alone eating a sandwich. She came at you like fresh air, like the morning sun heating your face. Kyoko entered your world to shake it completely.
“You care for her a lot right?” Shoko said.
You nodded still with a smile on your lips. “A lot, she is a sister to me.”
“She also cares a lot for you.” She rested her back on the wall. “When I met her, that time you were sick, she talked so dearly about you.” She smiled. “She even made Satoru sweat just by using her words.”
“Why would she?” You tilted your head confused.
“Oh you know, well it doesn't matter...” Shoko smiled. “Let’s head back.”
As you walked alongside Shoko, you suddenly felt a strong grip around your wrist, causing you to wince in pain. Surprised, you froze when you heard your name being called and instantly realized who was holding you.
Turning to face the source of the grip, your heart skipped a beat as you met the gaze of the unwanted individual you had been trying to avoid all night. It was him, the person you least wanted to meet.
"Hey, where do you think you're going?" He scoffed, squeezing his wrist.
You tried to pull away, protesting against the pain coursing through your arm. "Let go." You demanded, voice strained with a mix of fear and defiance.
Shoko looked back, worried about etching his features as she watched the scene unfold. “Let her go.” She intervened firmly, approaching you.
The unwanted individual's gaze flickered between you and Shoko, with a smile on his lips. “She and I need to talk, don't we?” He insisted, with a possessive tone.
Panic surged inside you as you struggled against his grip, the weight of his words sinking in. “Naoya, you and I have nothing to talk about, let me go.”
Naoya let out a throaty laugh and looked at you. “Come on doll, you quit the bar without saying anything, you completely broke my heart you know?”
Naoya Zenin, your former boss. As his grip tightened around your wrist, a flood of memories returned: the days of working under his rule at the bar, the constant fear and anxiety that plagued you every time you set foot in that place.
When you started working at the restaurant, Naoya seemed like a normal guy, who treated you with respect and care. But as time passed, his true colors emerged, revealing him to be a complete macho asshole who harbored an unhealthy obsession with you.
The fear of running into him at the bar became one of your biggest nightmares. The weight of your debts hang over you like a dark cloud, threatening to engulf you if you didn't continue to put up with Naoya's harassment.
Fortunately, Kyoko came to your rescue, offering you a lifeline out of the toxic situation. Now you only worked in the grocery store and you didn’t have to worry anymore about that asshole.
But there he was, once again in front of you looking at you with those sick eyes.
Shoko called you out and you looked back at her. “You know him?”
You clenched your fists and nodded as you turned your gaze to him. “Unfortunately.”
“Hey!” Shoko spoke. “If you don’t want to get in trouble, let her go and stay away from her.”
“And what will a filthy woman like you do?” He smiled arrogantly while still holding your wrist.
“Oh don’t worry. She will take care of you.” And she pointed behind him.
Yuki was outside the club and was standing right behind Naoya. He laughed ironically and Yuki with a half smile grabbed the hand that he was holding tightly to you and moved it away from you, causing a sharp scream to escape from Naoya's lips. Shoko on her part grabbed you by your arm and pulled you closer to her, moving you away from him.
“Show me your wrist.” Shoko demanded, so you did as she told you. “It's red. It hurts?” You nodded slowly. “We better put some cold in it. That bastard.” She said, bracing you against her. “Yuki…”
“I’m done.” She smiled. “Get near her again and you will see.”
As Shoko and Yuki took you back to the club, you felt a mix of relief and apprehension swirling inside you. Naoya was left laying on the ground, mumbling incomprehensible words.
Shoko walked up to the bar and asked for some ice to put around your wrist so the redness would go away. When the ice touched your skin you grimaced in disgust at the feeling of the cold hitting your skin.
“What happened?” Kyoko appeared right next to the three of you.
“Kyoko…” You whispered, surprised she came that fast. “Oh this!” You pointed to your wrist. “It’s nothing I tripped outside and hurt my wrist but it’s okay.” You smiled.
“Ugh…” She held your wrist carefully. “You need to be more careful.”
“It’s okay, Shoko and Yuki were there.” You tried to calm her down. “Now go back to your boyfriend.” You winked at her. “He is waiting for you.” You said and Kyoko turned to see him and then back to you.
“Are you sure you will be okay?” She insisted again.
“Super sure. Now go!”
Once Kyoko returned with Suguru, you begged Shoko and Yuki to keep the incident a secret, fearing unnecessary worry and complications if Kyoko and also if Satoru would go find out. However, their solemn expressions told you that keeping it secret was not an option.
"I'm sorry, but we can't hide this." Shoko said softly, her voice tinged with sadness.
You understood her concern, although it weighed heavily on you. Knowing that Kyoko would start to worry only increased your distress, but deep down, you realized that they were right.
"If they ask us, we will have to tell them." Yuki added, his tone firm but compassionate. "It's best that you tell them yourself, for your own well-being and safety."
Reluctantly, you agreed to talk to Kyoko and Satoru, promising to address the situation but choosing to wait until the party was over. You didn't want to ruin the night with those news and preferred to enjoy what was left of the night.
You went back and sat with Shoko and Yuki while Kyoko enjoyed her time with Suguru. Briefly you saw Satoru speaking with the same girl you saw him that time he was acting strangely and something inside you stirred. You clenched your fists and looked away from where the two of them were laughing. You knew you had no right to be angry because you and Satoru were absolutely nothing, but you still were. You were completely jealous.
You grabbed your new drink and took a big sip, feeling how it burned in your throat. You looked pathetic, with your drink in your hand, the alcohol rushing through your system and your gaze fixed on a person who was absolutely nothing of yours.
You wanted to get up from where you were, approach them and take Satoru away, to a place where only the two of you could be, where you were the only one who looked into those eyes and they looked back at you. A place where only you could see his smile.
Oh fuck you had actually passed the event horizon and fallen into the black hole that was Satoru Gojo.
There was no turning point.
There was no escape for you.
You watched her lean towards him, close, too close for your liking. You wanted to scream for her to get away from him. You stood up from your seat and felt the world spin slightly. But with clumsy steps and through the people you made your way to where Satoru was. When you were close enough you grabbed his arm and pulled him towards you.
“What…?” You heard him say.
“Satoruuuuu.” You stretched out his name, while you hugged his arm tightly. The alcohol was causing you to do things that had never occurred to you but there you were.
“Birdie?” He opened his eyes when he laid his eyes on you. “You are drunk?” It was a question but sounded more like an affirmation. “How much have you drunk?” He said with a worried tone.
“Hmm…” You tried to think. “Like three… or maybe it was four. But I’m not drunk.” You smiled. “I’m just happy.” You rested your face on his bicep. “You told me you would accompany me drinking, but I'm alone.” It was a lie, but you wanted him to come with you.
“You are clearly drunk.” He looked at you with a serious face. “Come on.” He put his hand on your back and you started walking. “Mei Mei we'll talk about it.”
So her name was Mei Mei. You had never heard of her, but certainly for the only two times you had seen her she was someone with money and who moved in the same world as Satoru.
The same world as him. You were far from that world, in fact it was impossible for you to even think about touching it with your fingertips.
“What are you thinking about birdie?” His voice once again taking you out of your own thoughts.
“Just… nothing.” You said with a sigh.
You both sat once again in the spot where you were just a few minutes ago. This time Shoko and Yuki and everyone else were gone. It was just you and Satoru.
You felt them grab your wrist and you quickly pushed them away, scared by the sensation. “Birdie…” Satoru spoke.
“Sorry… I fell and my wrist still hurts.” It was true, Satoru didn’t know.
“You fell?” He said with worried eyes.
“Just tripped and fell, nothing to worry about.” You tried to laugh it out.
“Let me check.” He insisted.
“It’s pointless, Shoko already treated me.” You said showing him your wrist.
He checked your wrist carefully and then looked up to you. “This doesn’t look like you tripped. Birdie what happened…?”
You looked at him and then to your hands, it was pointless to lie to him, you were going to tell him anyway. “An asshole grabbed me, but Shoko and Yuki helped me out.” You were leaving a lot of information out.
“Which asshole? Why?” His voice tone was serious. “Birdie, look at me.” And you did. “Tell me the truth. Are you really okay?”
You took a breath and then let it out. “I was scared at first, but now, I’m okay.” You could see he was not convinced with your words. “I swore Satoru, I’m fine. I’m okay. I’m here with you, so there is nothing for me to worry about.” You gave him a smile.
He hesitated but ended up nodding. “Alright but if you see the asshole nearby, just…”
“Yeah yeah, I know…” You shook your head. “Now let’s go for something else to drink.”
“No way.”
“Why?” You protested.
“Because you are starting to get drunk.”
“I am not drunk, just…” Jealous. But you couldn’t tell him that.
“Just what?” Satoru tilted his head.
“Nothing, it doesn’t matter.” You looked away. “But c’mon Satoru, let’s have one drink together. I’m not that drunk anyways.” You stood up and started walking towards the bar.
“You are not going to stop, right?” He whispered to your ear.
“Nop, until I get my drink with you.” You said, showing off your smile.
He laughed. “You better not throw up on me again.” You grabbed your cocktail and looked at him offended.
“I was sick, you know?” You drank a bit. “You are not going to order anything?”
“No, it’s enough drinking for me.” He shrugged.
You linked your arm with his and rested your head on his shoulder as you walked back to where you had been sitting. The alcohol and jealousy were giving you a courage that you wouldn't have thought you would have at the start of the day.
When you rested your head you felt Satoru tense up, did you make him nervous?
“Being drunk makes you incredibly clingy, you know?” He said when you both sat back down.
Maybe or maybe I want to be with you like that.
You wanted to say it out loud but even if you were a bit, just a bit drunk, you didn’t have the courage to do it, so instead you remain silent, listening to the loud music playing and feeling Satoru’s heat next to yours.
“Don’t sleep on me, please.” Satoru whispered to your ear.
“I won’t.” You said, although you were a bit tired. “By the way, did you come here by car?”
He shook his head. “I came with Nanami.”
“Oh… the tall blonde guy Haibara’s friend.”
“Yeah the one you said was handsome.” He challenged.
“Your feelings are still hurt, Gojo?” You tease back.
“Nah because I’m obviously more handsome.” He flicked his head backwards.
“Sure…” Yes you are Satoru. “I haven’t seen Haibara…”
“Oh I think he was busy.” Satoru said, looking away from you. “Let’s play a game.” He looked back at you with a smile.
“Play a game?” You tilted your head. “What are you 16? You want us to spin the bottle so you can kiss me or something like that.”
You watched Satoru swallow as you said the words ‘kiss me’ but then he shook his head and a smile appeared on his face once again. “No, I want 7 minutes in heaven with you baby.” And he winked his eye.
Oh you did have a crush on him for sure but he was still an annoying pain in the ass. “In your dream Satoru Gojo. Now for real, what game?”
“20 questions.”
“20 questions? Oh for real you hit your head and turned back time to when you were 16?”
“C’mon birdie. This way we could get to know each other better.”
“Are you going to ask me what my favorite color is?” You said teasing him.
“Maybe, but listen to make this more fun, every time we don’t want to answer something we have to drink.”
“You don’t even have a drink.” You pointed out.
“I will buy one now. But c’mon birdie it will be fun.” He pouted.
“I thought you said I was drunk already, now you want me to drink more?”
“If you don’t want to drink more then you will have to answer honestly.” He smirked.
Ugh that stupid, handsome smile.
“Deal.” You said. “Go for your drink, I won’t be nice with you Satoru Gojo.”
“I hope you aren’t because neither I will be.” He winked and went for his drink.
As you watched Satoru approach the bar counter, a whirlwind of emotions swirled within you. Despite the occasional urge to strangle him, his playful antics and teasing comments often testing your patience, you couldn't deny the genuine affection that had grown in you over the course of these weeks.
His company had a way of lifting your spirits, casting a comforting glow even in the most challenging of times. And as you reflected on the night's events, a soft sigh escaped your lips, mingling with the ambient sounds of the bustling club around you.
The two of you had shared intimate moments on the dance floor, lost in the rhythm of the music and the warmth of each other's touch. And yet, in the midst of the euphoria of the night, the shadow of Naoya’s presence had caused you not to take a step forward, a tricky step that could have complicated your situation with Satoru.
When Satoru returned to the couch, his smile radiant and infectious, you felt a surge of warmth flood your chest, erasing any doubt or hesitation that lingered within you.
“Okay.” He put down his drink. “You wanna start?”
“What an honor.” You smiled. “Okay Satoru, hmmm…” You thought for a moment. “I will be nice and ask you something easy, cat or dog person?”
“Cat person, definitely.” He nodded. “Wanted to adopt one but I think I’m not ready for that responsibility.”
You nodded. “Okay now it’s your turn.”
“Favorite color?”
“Definitely a question a 16 year old would ask.”
“C’mon birdie, answer.”
“Red.”
“Is that why the dress?”
“Yes and because it makes me have nice tits.” You smiled with all your teeth.
“Definitely.” He said looking down.
“Hey!” You snapped your fingers on his face. “My eyes are up here, you pervert.”
Satoru blushed a little bit and then he chuckled. “Yeah… I was just corroborating your point.”
“Sure…okay my turn I guess. Why did you chose this degree?”
“Easy. When I was a child, the stars and everything related to space intrigued me greatly. And I always wanted to find an answer to each of the questions that arose in me, so I decided to study that career to be able to answer the questions of my inner child.” You could see how his eyes shone when he said all that and how a wide smile spread across his face, showing some small dimples that you had not noticed until that moment. “How about you? Why did you decide to study this?”
“My mother used to be an astrophysicist, when I was little she would take me to the garden of my grandmother's house and talk to me about the different stars and constellations in the sky.” She shrugged, feeling nostalgia course through your body. “I guess our reasons are a bit similar.” You looked at him smiling.
“I guess so.” He smiled back. “Go ahead, it's your turn to make a question. We still haven’t drink a bit, you know.”
“Alright…” You paused and thought about what you could ask him, and there was a question that had been on your mind for a while. “Who was that girl you were with before?” You clenched your hand, making your nails dig into your palm.
Satoru looked around. “Who? Mei Mei?” You nodded. “Mei Mei is an old family friend. Her family runs a company and we usually meet each other at business parties and stuff like that.” He explained as if it was nothing. “Why? Don’t tell me you were…”
“I was just curious.” You cut him before he could say any other word. “You seem to get along with her. That’s all.” His gaze was on you. “C’mon your turn.”
“Why don’t you practice taekwondo anymore?”
Oh. That question. The answer was quick, you had broken your tibia and fibula, the reason was because it was more complex and you didn't feel ready to tell Satoru. Not yet. So you grabbed your glass and took a sip. Satoru looked at you strangely.
“I’m not ready to talk about it.” You told him, to which he nodded. “Have you and Suguru ever had anything?” You asked him, causing Satoru to choke on his own saliva.
“What's with that question?” He exclaimed.
“Don't blame me, the whole first year Kyoko and I really thought you two were dating.” You shrugged.
“No, nothing has ever happened between us. We are best friends." He said.
“Okay jeez, you got really nervous Satoru.” You teased him.
“Whatever.” He rolled his eyes.
“But would you?” You kept on teasing him.
“Jesus birdie! Suguru now has a girlfriend and I…” He shut himself. “Those were two questions.”
“Oh c’mon.” You cried.
“My turn.” He smiled cockily. Oh this was going to be a good one right? “Why do you hate me?”
“Hate you?” He nodded. “I don’t hate you Satoru.”
“Then why did you avoid me?”
“Oh that… I guess you don’t remember it.” He looked at you confused and you sighed. “The first day you dumped me, I fell to the floor and well you didn’t even look at me.” You said.
“I… I did that?” He said.
“Yeah… then I found out you were the rich kid from the Gojo clan and I guess, I didn’t want to have anything to do with you.” You shrugged.
“Shit birdie, I don’t… I don’t remember it.”
“Doesn’t matter, you were on your phone, angry and besides you turned out to be a pretty decent guy, unless you are faking all of this.” You raised your eyebrow.
“I would never pretend to be someone I’m not with you.” He looked at you with the most serious look and you believe every single one of his words. “You believe me?”
“That’s another question already.” You said still looking at his eyes.
“Then ask me another question, birdie…” He whispered and when you felt his breath touching your skin it was when you realized how close, once again you were from each other.
Your eyes indirectly went down to his lips and then returned to his eyes, you salivated as you noticed how your throat had gone dry and you took a breath. “How many shots would you need to kiss me?” Satoru stared at your face and you felt that the seconds it took him to respond turned into minutes.
“None.”
Notes: Someone commented that every single Gojo fic has a Naoya on it to make the reader suffer, but let me tell you something I was going to put Mahito first but I needed someone with money for future events, but don’t worry he got get into Gojo’s and Birdie’s business 😊
Also, another cliffhanger lol and this time you will have to wait until the 30-31, I have exams next week and I’m also seeing Taylor Swift, so I won’t be able to post anything.
Anyways, I hope everyone liked and thanks for the comments and kudos ❤️

Shadow's Embrace ch.7
Sukuna x Reader
Disclaimer:
This is a work of fanfiction based on the universe of "Jujutsu Kaisen," created by Gege Akutami. The original manga, anime, and characters belong to their respective owners and creators.
Notes:
This story unfolds in the Jujutsu world, set in a slightly altered universe where Sukuna inhabits his own vessel distinct from Itadori Yuji's body, making him a separate entity.
Summary:
Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, becomes fascinated with a female sorcerer rich in potential but lacking control. Initially seizing her for his destructive plans, Sukuna aims to bind her abilities through a contract. Yet, as he tries to dominate her, he finds himself intrigued by her strength and determination. Over time, his interest evolves from strategic advantage to a deeper, personal connection.
---------------------------------------------------------
CHAPTER 7 – A Twisted Scheme
You opened your eyes wearily to the gentle sound of birds chirping through the tiny basement window. Usually, that sound brought you a sense of peace, but right now it felt like a cruel mockery—a reminder of the freedom you were being denied.
A sense of unease washed over you as you realized that you must have fallen asleep in Sukuna’s presence the previous day. Scolding yourself for letting your guard down, you quickly scanned the room. Sukuna was no longer there; you were alone.
The thought of escape crossed your mind, but it was quickly struck down by the subtle hum of cursed energy emanating from the concrete walls. Sukuna had erected a powerful barrier again, trapping you with no means of escape.
You let out a deep sigh, exhaustion weighing heavily on you from the entire ordeal. Yet, you knew this was far from over.
Recognizing the futility of dwelling on your captivity, you resolved to take action. Mustering your remaining strength, you hoisted your battered body up, determined to make the most of your current circumstances.
With a focused mindset, you began to practice your jujutsu skills, channeling your cursed energy and honing your techniques. Despite the aches and pains that lingered from Sukuna’s previous onslaught, you refused to let your physical limitations hold you back. You had to keep the fire burning within you; if you didn’t, he would break your spirit in a heartbeat.
After about an hour of intensive practice, your focus was abruptly shattered by the sound of rattling at the door, followed by the distinct click of a lock being opened.
Instinctively, you tensed, anticipating the arrival of Sukuna. But to your surprise, someone else entirely stepped through the threshold. A tall man with thin, black eyes and long dark hair, partially tied back. A monk-like garment draped over his body. Despite his commanding presence, a surprisingly friendly smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
You regarded the man with caution, your eyes narrowing as his gaze met yours.
“I apologize for the abrupt intrusion,” he began, his smile unwavering. “My name is Geto. I’m an associate of Sukuna’s.” Despite his charismatic demeanor, his association with Sukuna made you instinctively wary.
“Sukuna has tasked me with escorting you somewhere...,” Geto explained, scratching the back of his head with a sheepish expression. “He found it tedious to bring you himself, claiming you’d never keep up with his speed.” His tone held a silent apology for Sukuna’s demeaning words, but the tiny smile playing on his lips betrayed a hint of amusement.
Despite your lingering wariness, you couldn’t help but feel a glimmer of cautious optimism at this unexpected turn of events. Perhaps this was an opportunity to gain some leverage, or even a chance to escape. It was a risky gamble, but if it could lead to your freedom, it was one you were willing to take.
So, you agreed to go with Geto, and straightening your posture, you followed behind him as he led the way.
Getting a better sense of the building and possible escape routes was valuable in itself. It seemed Geto had noticed you scrutinizing every turn, door, nook, and cranny. His face showed a hint of curiosity at your desperation.
Finally, the last door took you outside. The air was crisp and refreshing, not oppressive and thick. It was a welcoming change, and one that immediately lifted your spirits a little.
As you turned the corner around the building, you were met with an unexpected sight. A massive, four-winged, pelican-like creature stood before you, its energy clearly betraying its nature as a curse, despite its rather harmless appearance.
“This,” Geto said, gesturing toward the peculiar curse, “is our ride.”
“A curse?” you inquired, your voice laced with skepticism.
Geto’s lips curled into a faint smile. “Trust me,” he said reassuringly, though a glint of something more sinister flickered in his eyes. “This curse is quite docile and will take us to our destination swiftly and safely.”
With some apprehension, you allowed Geto to assist you in climbing atop the massive creature. As you settled onto its back, you couldn’t help but feel apprehension, your mind racing with questions and concerns about the nature of this 'trip.'
As the creature’s large wings began to flap and the ground steadily fell away beneath you, your focus shifted. The world below unfolded before your eyes, a tapestry of rooftops, streets, and greenery stretching out to the horizon.
For a moment, you were captivated by the breathtaking sight, your worries and fears momentarily forgotten.
Then, Geto’s voice broke the serene silence. “It’s nice, isn’t it?” he asked, his tone charismatic and friendly.
His charming demeanor gave you pause. His words and manner were disarmingly pleasant, a stark contrast to the overwhelming presence and cruelty of Sukuna.
Yet, you couldn’t shake the suspicion that Geto was concealing his true nature. After all, he claimed to be an associate of the ruthless King of Curses, and his involvement in this'trip' was at Sukuna’s behest.
As you scanned the landscape below, a familiar sight caught your eye, and your heart skipped a beat. The narrow, winding streets, the lush green rolling hills, the small wooden houses with tiled red roofs—there was no doubt—you were hovering above your hometown.
A nervous feeling rose in the pit of your stomach, your mind racing with questions and concerns. What were you doing here? Was this merely a coincidence, or had Sukuna somehow discovered your personal information?
Your parents still lived in this town, and the thought of them being caught up in Sukuna’s machinations filled you with a deep sense dread.
Turning to Geto, you met him with a piercing gaze. “Why are we here?” you demanded, your fingers curling into fists as you fought to keep your composure. Geto ignored your question altogether, steering the pelican towards the ground and preparing to land atop a hill below.
The sudden drop in altitude startled you, and you gripped the feathers tightly, bracing for the impact. With a loud thud, the beast landed, and you hesitantly hopped off, your eyes immediately drawn to the imposing figure of Sukuna striding towards you from the distance.
Geto waved casually at Sukuna, who acknowledged him with a brief nod, his crimson eyes fixing upon you after, with a predatory intensity.
Being in your hometown should have brought about a sense of nostalgia and comfort, but instead, it felt terrifying to be here without knowing Sukuna’s intentions.
As Sukuna approached, his imposing figure casting a shadow over you, he casually addressed Geto. “Great job dragging her here,” he said, a satisfied smile plastered on his lips. Geto responded with an equally casual tone, as if this were a mere errand rather than a hostage situation, “Ah, it was no trouble at all.”
Your stomach churned as Sukuna’s attention turned toward you. “And you, little sorcerer,” he purred, his voice low and menacing, “if you so much as think of escaping, I’ll snap your neck without a second thought.”
The threat hung thick in the air until Geto’s mocking tone cut through the tension. “Ooh, that’s scary,” he quipped, earning a pointed glare from Sukuna.
Sukuna then ordered you to follow him, and you knew you had no choice but to obey his command. Besides, you needed to know why he had brought you here, what his twisted schemes were. The uncertainty was too agonizing to bear.
As you trailed closely behind Sukuna, you glanced back briefly at Geto and saw the faint hint of a smirk on his lips, as if he were privy to some hidden knowledge that you were not. It was unsettling, to say the least.
Walking through the streets of your hometown, a flood of memories washed over you. The bakery where you used to enjoy Saturday morning treats with your parents, the lake where you had spent carefree summers with your friends, the karaoke bar where you had shared laughter and songs with Ayumi—these places, once filled with warmth and joy, now felt tainted by Sukuna’s looming presence.
Sukuna, however, was well aware of your uncertain glances; he felt your eyes on him and smirked. He knew he had you in the palm of his hand.
With each step, you drew closer to your parents’ house, and the idea of them being caught up in this sent shivers of terror down your spine.
You tried to glance at Sukuna to discern his expressions and thoughts, but he walked quickly and remained in front of you, so all you could see was the back of his head.
Just as you approached the familiar street leading to your childhood home, to your surprise, Sukuna took a sharp left, steering you away from the residential area and towards an abandoned construction site.
The sudden change in direction caught you off guard, but you felt a twinge of relief wash over you. Perhaps Sukuna had no intention of targeting your family after all.
You remained vigilant though, your senses heightened as you followed him into the desolate, construction site.
Towering steel beams and weathered concrete surrounded you. It was completely silent except for the sound of your footsteps echoeing through the area.
Until suddenly the silence was broken as Sukuna’s voice pierced the air, “Hey ugly monster, you can come out now,” he called, his tone arrogant, but with a hint of anticipation.
Was he gonna have you killed here? You wondered. You instinctively took a step back, your eyes darting around the abandoned site, searching for any signs of the looming threat.
Then, the sound of movement reverberated through the area, accompanied by a low, guttural growl.
Emerging from the shadows, a large cursed apparition materialized before you, its head barely attached to its grotesque body, hanging on by the barest of threads.
It’s presence somehow made you want to scream and bawl your eyes out. Your legs grew shaky, as you were overcome by what you could only call a primal, visceral reaction, a revulsion so intense that you had never thought it possible.
Sukuna’s smirk was a clear indication that this was going exactly as he had planned, “Ah, there you are,” he said with contentment.
Turning his attention to you, Sukuna’s expression shifted to one of casual indifference, “This curse is particularly cruel” he began, his voice chillingly calm.
“It’s renowned for selecting its victim, severing their head, and then placing it outside of the home of the person they called out for in their final moments. Quite horrific, don’t you think?”
Ayumi
The realization hit you like a crushing blow, the memories of Ayumi’s severed head, found in a pool of blood right outside your porch, flooding your mind. The horror, the anguish, the grief. You’d felt traces of that same aura back then, that must by why it revolted you so now.
You could not speak, could not think, could not even blink, as the weight of Sukuna’s revelation bore down upon you. It ignited a rage so intense that it threatened to make you vomit.
In that moment, you were consumed by a single, all-encompassing desire – revenge.
Revenge on the monster that took Ayumi from you.
“You might say it’s even more evil than me,” Sukuna then added, with a twisted sense of satisfaction as he could read from your face that his plan was having the desired effect.
“I can kill it for you right now, with just a flick of my fingers,” Sukuna offered as if he’d anticipated your vengefulness. “I can get you your revenge,”
He paused for a moment before continuing “But... only on the condition that you forge the pact with me- the binding vow to obey my every command.”
You could barely process his words, your mind consumed by the singular desire to destroy the dreadful curse with your own hands. To watch it suffer as much as it had made your beloved friend suffer.
Yet, even as the rage coursed through you, your body refused to move, as if paralyzed by the sheer weight of your emotions.
Sukuna’s brow furrowed, a flicker of annoyance crossing his features as he watched you zone out, unresponsive to his manipulations. He had expected you to break, to lash out in a frenzy of anger and grief, but your stunned silence seemed to throw him off balance.
Sukuna flicked your forehead, his voice laced with irritation. “You still there, brat?” he asked, his crimson eyes narrowing as he studied your reaction.
Meanwhile the powerful curse stirred, its movements erratic as it prepared to use this vulnerable moment of hesitation to unleash an attack.
But before it could strike, Sukuna’s arm moved with lightning-fast precision, severing the creature’s limb in a single, fluid motion.
As its arm dropped to the floor, the creature’s agonizing screeches echoed through the empty construction site, the sound seemingly bouncing between the steel pillars.
Sukuna’s gaze remained fixed upon you this entire time.
"Woman, I need an answer now" he demanded, with impatience, leaving no room for argument. "Bind yourself to me and I'll kill it."
"This curse is at least a grade 1, it's far too strong for a weak sorcerer like you," he continued, his tone dismissive.
The truth of his words struck you like a physical blow. You knew, deep down, that the cursed spirit’s very presence had paralyzed you, rendering you powerless.
And yet, the need to make it pay for what it had done to Ayumi burned within you, with an intensity that refused to be extinguished.
So with all your might, you commanded your body to move. Gritting your teeth, you thrust out your palms against the invisible force that seemed to hold you back, summoning an enormous bolt of bright cursed energy that appeared to crackle with the power of a thunderstorm.
You vowed to yourself then and there, that this revenge would be yours, no matter the cost.

if you have a rules post where this is answered, sorry, i totally could not find one, but.
how do you feel about yandere!reader? you typically write them with a bleeding heart even though they're all very realistic, which is awesome for immersion. but i have kinda a soft spot for reader who gets so sick of everything they start Partaking Of The Insanity sdkhfjgdg
eldritch gojo though... Not Normal Gojo who is 100x more developmentally stunted/twisted than he appears... gojo who sees so much about the world that he legit thinks he's on a higher level of existence, because "in a world where all men are blind, the man with one eye is king".
soooo much of my attraction to gojo at first was wanting to eat that man for breakfast and force him back down to reality. when i saw hidden inventory and learned he LITERALLY GOT MURDERED and that made him MORE FULL OF HIMSELF instead of less,,, god it takes a special kind of crazy to take away what he did from a near death experience. but god do i love him.
ughhh you dont understand i read this amazing fic where gojo was an eldritch horror and it was the best thing i ever read and i wanted to eat it and i now am in love with this interpretation of gojo. eldritch gojo is THE best version of gojo i said what i said.
but there are just so many different facets of gojo and i think thats a huge reason why ppl love him so so much! like ive never read a gojo fic where i feel like hes ooc.
hes just such a mystery, right? i rlly hope gege never confirms gojo's childhood, or his personality, or anything like that because part of gojo's character is that you're never gonna understand him.........ugh he's such a tragedy omgejergjrij-
ngl i HATE yandere!readers with a burning passion. im sorry i just never got it. like irl im obsessed with gojo why would i wanna write about real life????? also, it has a lot to do with the fact that i try to make my reader-inserts as blank and stale as possible. as little as personality, no description of looks, just so more ppl can relate. if i wrote a yandere!reader im gonna have to make them an active character, rather than a passive one and it'll be hard to do that to keep them a blank slate.

Here I'll give JJK a satisfying ending, why not?
See the question of whether Yuji saves Megumi, in terms of JJK's themes, if I wrote it, I would have it refer back to Yuji's original internal conflict, the one with which he first conflicted with Megumi:
Should he save someone, even if that someone could hurt another in the future?
Before, this referred to Yuji himself, and he decided it wasn't worth it, he wasn't worth it, but continued to live for Megumi.
Now here's where I think we could get some wonderful thematic pay off for Yuji.
My addition: Yuji cannot save Megumi without also 'not killing' Sukuna. If Yuji were to save Megumi, Sukuna would lie dormant, but still there. Everyone would live under the constant strain, the pressure of Sukuna resurfacing... so wouldn't it make more sense to kill Megumi and Sukuna?
Wouldn't it?
For Yuji, he has the mentality that he is a cog, a cog meant to kill curses, and if Megumi now has a curse, if Megumi is now the vessel Yuji once was, the vessel he opted to dispose of if it was himself... then....?
Here's the decision to make. And here's what gives Yuji's decision to save Megumi thematic weight. (I'm not gege)
Yuji will save Megumi. Yuji will save Megumi, even if he's just a cog meant to kill curses. Yuji will save Megumi, even if the world's proven him wrong over and over and over again. Yuji will save Megumi, even if there is the potential that Sukuna will resurface. Yuji will save Megumi, for Megumi, the one who he could save, the one he lived for.
And Megumi - tired, hollow, his life left barren from Sukuna - asks why Yuji saved him.
"You told me to."
Megumi would smile - something broken and messy, something loving, something he choses to live for - and he laughs.
(and around them, the world burns.)

Okay, so I know that we're all mad at Gege, and for good reason. But I don't agree with the fandom that he's wasting good characters by killing them off.
JJK is an allegory for the terrible pressure placed on people to be the best, or to be useful, which makes people stop seeing them as a fellow humans. And the characters in the show represent that.
For example, Gojo is labelled as the strongest, and as such, no one sees him as a person other than Geto. They always either put him on a pedestal or find him to be a nuisance that they deal with because he's useful to jujutsu society, such as the jujutsu society elders. Even in death his body is used as a tool.
In Geto's case, the honor of being powerful enough to save humanity from curses was dashed because he saw how the non-sorcerers they were trying to save treated them, in spite of the sorcerers facing heavy casualties. Jujutsu society didn't even send someone to check up on him, and he just spirals after the failed mission. After realising that this society didn't care about him, he tries to create a society that does care about sorcerers, at the cost of normal people, the same people who didn't care about him.
Yuta was sentenced to death because of the dangerous curse that was attached to him. Jujutsu society dehumanized him because of factors that he cannot control, same with Yuji.
Gojo sees this and realized that he can't let them be dehumanized like Geto was, gotten rid of if they were deemed pests or used until they were broken if they were deemed useful.
Yuta himself adopts this view in this chapter, risking his life so that they can defeat Sukuna. Yuji also adopts this mentality when he declares himself a cog in the machine that kills curses.
Hakari, Maki, and Noritoshi, are all an exception to this rule, as Hakari refused to let himself be merely a tool and have things decided for him. He enjoys passion and passionate people, while jujutsu society may admire his cursed technique, they don't respect him as a person. Maki and Noritoshi only achieved their full ability after cutting ties with their respective clans.
The Zenins viewed Maki as useless as she was both a woman and had no Cursed Energy. While the Kamo clan only viewed Noritoshi as useful for being male and inheriting a powerful cursed technique.
Megumi had a lot of potential with the ten shadows technique but when he gave up, the elders would have had him executed in order to kill Sukuna.
Sukuna himself stands in opposition to all of this, seeing everyone as equally worthless in a world where the strong have every right to make the weak suffer. In this sense, him and jujutsu society share the common view that only strength matters.
Yuji and the rest of Gojo's students stand in contrast to both Sukuna and jjk society here. They spend more time trying to save Megumi, because they see him as their friend. They spend more time protecting the people close to them not out of some sense of duty or usefulness, but because they genuinely care about each other.
Yuta takes Gojo's body not out of a sense of duty to kill Sukuna, but because he cares about Gojo and doesn't want his sacrifice to be in vain. Gojo died not by doing his duty, but by trying to care for his students.
Gege is saying that following orders and doing your duty until you burn yourself out isn't good, and neither is making yourself out to be better than everyone else because you think that the world revolves around the logic of "survival of the fittest". Which is Sukuna's line of thinking.
I think the story is going to end with only Yuji surviving and him beating Sukuna not because he's just a cog in jujutsu society, but because he's Yuji and he loves his friends and family.
The curse of "die surrounded by the people you love" from his grandfather is reversed as Yuji learns to live for the people he loved.
He's saying that people work best together, but not when they are forced to for some nebulous idea of duty or justice, but because of simply caring about each other.
That's why Gege made us care about these characters in the first place, so that we can fully understand the injustice that these characters are going through.

welcome home .𖥔 ݁ ˖ nanami kento x reader
warnings ➜ cw: pre - shibuya incident, spoilers
notes ➜ gege akutami when i catch you.
songs of the morning hummed into the quiet of your humble apartment, light sneaking through the sheer curtains of the tall window panes. you never woke up before kento but today seemed to be a special case as your eyes riddled with sleep found your fiance's sleeping form, soft snores of slumber falling from his lips. he looked so peaceful, so rested—a rare sight to see from the amount of times he'd come home with aching muscles and bruises, sometimes even going as far burns and scratches.
"don't worry, i have it all figured out," he would tell you, accompanied with a chaste kiss to your forehead. but worry is something you can't not do, knowing the dangers of jujutsu society. him coming back home to you was never guarranteed, never a sure thing, and will never be established as a routinely happening whether you wanted it to or not.
kento was made for great things, you knew that much. he loved to help. he hated the perils of being a sorcerer but always threw himself into every assignment like it was his lifelong passion, like he was born for it—like the stars forced it unto him. nanami kento is the most selfless person you know, even going so far as to keeping yuji under his wing like a father would.
you've never seen a person more perfect, so unbelieveably unreal and you still need time to process the fact that this man was yours and you were his.
"go back to sleep," he mumbles into the pillow, stirring slightly with his eyes slightly cracked open sleepily. a smile etches on your lips when he presses closer against you, your skin on his. nanami always felt like home. your hands run through his blonde tresses, warranting him to lean closer than ever.
"we have things to do, kento," you giggle quietly.
"things can wait. i'm leaving for shibuya tonight," he grumbles uncharacteristically, like a child asking for extra time to stay tucked into the safety of the mattress. but despite the childish surface, the way his voice was unleveled... it tipped you off albeit you pay no attention to it.
"do you really have to?"
a beat of silence passes the both of you, thick with uncertainty but he manages to croak out an answer.
"i do."
it's merely a mission, nothing too different than the last. of course.
but why does it feel so dreadful? why now? why do you feel like you need to physically cling onto him, like all else will go wrong if he steps out into the world?
you tilt your head up to see his face, before pressing your lips on to his own. the familiar plush of it starting to calm the rumble of worries that flood your mind.
"come back to me, okay?"
kento smiles, before reciprocating. he felt like home. home was where kento is.
"for you, i'll try."

He LIVED Bitches!!!!
Long post ahead
First thing first... I love this starting pallet (i'm definitely overthinking)
Not complete white not complete black with prominent shadows, because every major character in the show is grey and one half of each partnership likes to lurk in shadows...This just highlights that things won't always be merry and colourful, but they won't completely be helpless...
Now to the episode itself...
We knew Aya was going to jump... Glad she was oh so delicately caught by Aku... I didn't think it was possible to clear everything in one episode, but expect the unexpected i guess...
And the main part of Dazai being alive and kicking...No but really, this is such a relief...
I kinda had the whole thing in the back of my mind that they can't kill Dazai, he is necessary for the plot armour to plot armour and all that shit...
But there was equal chances of Asagiri taking notes from Isayama or Gege and just decide, fuck it... let's keep him dead....If not the confirmed dead thing, then the dead till stated otherwise route that Hori took.
But i'm soooo glad Asagiri didn't do that!!!
Also, glad to know he is still as cocky as ever
AND AND AND
I screamed!!!! My fam started looking at me for two whole minutes like i've just gone crazy!!!
Because we got the prettiest boy speaking!!!
The look on Fyodor's face when he realised he was played by the one he had completely under his control (or he thought he had)... I think he realised the 'shallow bond' comment haunted him in this moment
I will deep dive into what exactly happened in those seconds in a later post, but i just wanna say
This is soooo damn funny!!!! Like you have this big bad mafia boss who has been MIA for the whole part of world destruction and his precious city being in the centre of it all (lets face it mori loves Yokohama more than he loves the whole world, he would gladly let the world burn if it means keeping that damn trouble-magnet city safe!) - BUT BUT BUT, then when things start to look up you only get a mention of the said boss and that too with a goofy fact such as he glued in vampire fangs to one of his executives! Don't tell me it's not an embarrassing dad thing to do, because it is!!!
I just know he, Hirotsu and Koyo has a hell of a time getting teenage soukoku to adulthood alive!!!
I mean -
WHAT DO YOU MEAN SIR YOU USED TO DO THIS ALL THE TIME???
No one's doing it like them!!!
Plus i just know Manga coming out is going to be even more gay than the anime, there will be more explanations and more fruity moments!!!
On a sad note...
Fyodor actually seems to be dead ( even if i don't believe it)
It hurt so bad to see Gogol man going - i wanted him dead, no i didnt, but maybe i did. His voice alone mad me sad...
But you know what i'm not sad about???
Getting rid of Fukuchi!!!
I'm not going to pretend that i felt even an ounce of sympathy for him, his whole 'i did this so you can bring peace' or 'some sacrifices are necessary for greater good' thing seemed forced to me. Like a desperate attempt at ending his character arc on a forgiving note, positive note...
But like i said, most characters in this show are grey... But there was none of Fukuchi's shade, and i didn't like it, even if in the end he wanted peace.
i do feel sad for Fukuzawa though,
He will have to live with that curse...
Plus i don't think Fukuchi is completely gone...
Decay of angel's may be over, but the mess they have left behind is not, there is still the other side of the page and whatever the fuck went down in those two hours...
But i'm glad that atleast Aku and Atsushi are on same side this time...
and this looks so much like:
So yeah, it's just another start!!!
Plus, You remember Soukoku came to fame after final battle of Dragon Head conflict?
The Finale of Decay of Angels will the foundation of Shinsoukoku's journey...
The two of them against all the threats to come...
We sure are in for a treat!!!
#there are so many things i want to add#but i'm sleep deprived already#any more and i'll collapse#lets discuss more when im a bit more coherent#i love the fact that bsd is trending for two days still#bungou stray dogs#bsd#chuuya nakahara#bsd spoilers#dazai osamu#soukoku#bsd dazai#bsd manga#bsd chuuya#bsd anime#bsd season five#bsd season 5#bsd s5 ep 11#bungo stray dogs spoilers#shin soukoku#akutagawa ryuunosuke#bsd akutagawa#atsushi nakajima#bsd atsushi#bungou stray dogs atsushi#decay of angels#nikolai gogol#pyrrha nikos#bsd nikolai#bsd fukuzawa

Fic Finder
~*~
1. Hi I’m looking for this specific fic:
I remember there’s mpreg and lan Zhan is the one pregnant.
It’s a modern day AU where they’ve been hooking up in hotels. So friends with benefit to lovers to husbands eventually. Lan Zhan quits his job eventually to be a stay home and there’s conflict of interest between their two jobs.
Thank you so much!
//
Hi I’m looking for a fix where lz can get pregnant and eventually does. I recall it’s a modern au where they’re in rival companies. LZ eventually leaves the company to be a stay home dad for their kids. They meet up in hotels to have rendezvous frequently before their relationship was open.
They got eloped as well.
Thank you!!
FOUND? sweet as cherry wine Series by cicer (E, 81k, WangXian, Modern AU, Business rivals, Intersex, Mpreg, Barebacking, Pregnancy kink)

2. hello! for fic finder, may i ask for a great tumblr meta that i cant find anywhere? (i feel like i should disclaim that ppl should read what they find hot. i just saw a recent mxtx interview that said like the exact same thing as the meta and thought it was cool)
the meta talks about how mxtx specifically choosing to write lwj as a top WAS the gnc option. i think op was just frustrated about some people insisting that switching/top wwx was 'less heteronormative' (as a justification for liking it??). i think op mentioned that this seems like a western take on mdzs?
basically, in the meta, they expand on how lwj is gnc-coded. like how touching lwj's headband equals staining his honor like how a cdrama man kissing an unmarried woman would be (this is what mxtx also said herself in the interview), and a bunch of other things (handling money, etiquette, lwj keeping track of wwx's tastes as opposed to wwx buying him spicy food, the incense burner domesticity, and idk more stuff i cant remember)
i *think* they wrote something like "all mxtx couples come with the gnc already built in" which was a cool point imo (one example is hc flipping the gege kink), but i tried searching for that and i couldn't find it for the life of me. thank you! (Huh, I feel like I remember this one faintly 🤔 ~Mod L)

3. Hi there! I appreciate all the work yall do 🥰 I'm trying to find a fic where LWJ has to do an ascension trial in the moral world and WWX accidentally fucks it up. WWX has to break LWJ's heart in order for LWJ to still pass the trial. I remember that WWX takes the option to forget the trial but LWJ doesn't. Might be a foxxian fic? Thank you!!! @la-voce-to-me
FOUND! Keep Me on Your Pillow by catbrainedschemes (E, 42k, wangxian, fantasy au, pillow book au, high immortal LWJ, red fox WWX, pining, angst, fluff, eventual smut, slow burn, feelings, first meetings, misunderstandings, happy ending, sharing a bed, first kiss, oblivious WWX, oblivious LWJ, sexual tension, hero worship, falling in love)

4. A) This fic is a modern au, I think that both LZ and WY are cultivators, WY specifically is kind of a witch (?), he messes with dark magic and lives in a haunted town or something like this. There's a reencounter between the two (I don't know if by chance or if LZ tracks WY) and at some point LZ gets worried that WY is sorrounded by ghosts/resentful energy, but he is aware of the situation. I think WY even has a pet crow/cat, but I'm not sure. And the plot may envolve him being isolated, running away or being expelled because of his methods of cultivation. Also, I'm pretty sure there's a fanart featured in the story that has Wangxian and the haunted place WY lives/takes care.
B) The second one is also a modern AU, LZ father is very sick, almost dying and stays in the hospital all the time, but LZ refuses to visit him because of the resentment caused by the situation with his parents. He meets WY in this same hospital, I don't remember if he works there, but I think it has something to do with Yanli. They connect through this situation, LZ eventually goes see his father and I think WY has some part in convincing him to do so.
C) Another modern AU, Lan Qiren is a priest/owns a church, the Lans are very religious and that includes LZ. WY is kind of a delinquent, he starts to go to the church and begins a friendship with LZ, who is very upright and frigid like in canon, plus the super religious part. I think LQ even says WY is a bad influence bacause of his behaviour and the things he did/does, but LZ realizes he is not that bad and there's probably some toutoring/disciplining envolved from his part. They are both teens or young adults and I specifically remember a scene when the two have sex inside the church with LZ being on the receiving end.
Thank you in advance and keep up the awesome work!

5. Hi! I love your blog and I have found it really helpful in the past. I was wondering if you could help me find a fic? It does have wangxian as the endgame. With wwx and lwj being opposing generals on opposite sides of a war. However, they both respect each other and have worked together to save innocent lives in the past.
In the end the Lan win the war and lwj takes wwx under his protection as a sort of war prize. This fic is very heavy on the Jiang and Jin bashing and in the end I think the Jiangs and Jins have to stand trial for their crimes during the war. While wwx is under lwj’s protection and never committed any crimes thus is not punished. I don’t think it is terribly long and I thought it was finished or almost finished at the time when I was reading it. If you could help me find this fic I would really appreciate it! @kjwaikiki

6. 👋 I am looking for a time travel/kid fic among thousands. This one LWJ travels back to being a kid, rescues his mother and they escape cloud recesses. 7. Hi for the next ficfinder please help with this request. This came as a random thought that refuses to leave my mind. I really only remember one scene. Which is someone, I believe it’s lan xichen, remarking that lwj would walk all over jyl. Not in a bad way just that he was more assertive and her being more demure i guess. It was a wangxian fic though. Not sure if it wasabi. Please help @lilly-420

8. hiii it's me again I'm sorry I can't seem to find anything rn and you guys are literal lives savers I'm looking for a fit where lwj was raisin A-Yuan and I just remember that they were talking about wwx and lwj compared him to a butterfly going in a dark forest to bring back treasures for other but each time he made the trip he lost some of his light until one day he couldn't come back. that all I have can you help ???🙇🏼♀️ thank youuuuuu✨✨ @ihaveasoftspotfora-yuan

9. Hi, thanks for your time! I'm looking for a(n older), well-written fic where wwx takes the wen away from the cultivation world after breaking them free from qiongqi road. Lan Zhan decides to follow after them. They settle far away, I think, on a mountain. Living conditions are harsh, at some point I believe mud floods washed their crops away and they had to move them elsewhere. Wwx was quite weak for some time. At the end of the fic was a grand scene where wwx and lwj destroy the tiger seal together, almost dying while trying. They don't rejoin the cultivation world. Any idea? @kesterling

I understand you do not find blogs / posts but if you know anything any account like that i would gladly appreciate it .

12. Hiya, im hoping you guys can help me find this fic? The only things I remember is it was canon setting, lwj pov, where he kept hiding/fidgeting with his hands in his sleeves and the author kept bringing attention to it to show him being nervous. It was also complete and definitely longer than 10k at least. Thank you!

13. Hi! I’m looking for a wangxian fic about right-hearted and left-hearted people. In the story, hetero couples have men with hearts on the left side and women with hearts on the right side of their bodies, and gay relationships were either both on the right side or a combo. I just remember that wèi yīng had a right sided heart. I remember that wèi yīng and lán zhàn got together before it was revealed that wèi yīng was about to be in an arranged marriage. I think wèi yīng turns the girl down and she shoots spiritual energy to his right side in an act of rage and almost kills him and because he and lán zhàn had, like become mates(?), he is the only person who could save him. I’m pretty sure it’s not a/b/o, and it is in the canonical time period. Thank you! @fries-n-salt

16. Hello! I’m looking for a fic and I can’t for the life of me find it… I believe the plot was branching off after qiongqi path or nightless city, and it’s wwx running away from the cultivation world and lwj pursuing him. And while this is happening wwx meets xiao xingchen and lwj meets song Lan on the way. And it goes along with song Lan and lwj tailing wwx and xiao xingchen hoping to find them and explain everything and make up. I know wwx and xxc end up at baoshan sanren’s mountain and that lwj finds mo xuanyu during this and takes him with them. I remember the detail that a-qing brings song Lan to Lan wangji bc she knows they’re looking for a cultivator dressed in white with a white cloth “over his eyes” and she mistakes the forehead ribbon for that description. Any help is appreciated I have such a hankering to reread!

One day he got caught sneaking into Cloud Recesses while helping to pass messages between her and LY. 19. Hello! Please help! 🙏 I've been going crazy trying to find this fic. It's post-canon, married wangxian in wwx pov, where lwj is under a spell/curse which makes him emotionless (i think its a long one-shot). I remember a scene where wwx thinks lwj just fell out of love w/ him in the beginning until he sees lwj interact with sizhui and a very robotic sex scene that ends with wwx feeling very uncomfortable. @littleladysilver
I just read #19, I wanna say it was on a recent fic finder ?? it was a 2 part fic, I think it was tagged for curses rather than amnesia
FOUND? Does anyone even read work titles? idk what to call this by Nighttdust (M, 14k, WangXian, Curses, Hurt/Comfort, Angst, though not to much, Both get hurt both get comforted, Established Relationship, Post-Canon, Happy Ending, Protective WWX, Insecurity, a bit only)

20. Hi!
So i read a canon divergence fic long time ago that wangxian were betrothed to each other since young and wei wuxian always had to wear a mask and besides the jiang family no one was allowed to see his face, also he lived in a mansion in yilling with mian mian and xue yang, plus wei wuxian and lan wangji were pining hard in this fic. Also for the sake of her family wen qing married lan wangji. I feel like it was deleted from ao3 cause i searched a lot but i wanted to get help from you guys too.
Thanks!
20 might be a deleted fic. I've seen people asking about it before, but I can't think of the name.
FOUND? I think #20 might be Price to Pay by Wangxianist and unfortunately it is a deleted fic. I also don’t think it was ever finished.

I have a question why Toji wanted to be a hitman he was handsome, strong and intelligent could he be something else I never understood that
The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth. - African Proverb
Kishimoto and Gege seem to have the same mindset on how much love and empathy or the lack of them can impact a person. Think about how Kishimoto wrote Gaara and Naruto.
Gege said Toji became unstable while living in the Zenin household due to the abuse he suffered. He received his scar when he was young after the Zenin clan threw him into the disciplinary pit of cursed spirits. He was also told by the Zenin clan that his life had no value and this idea stayed in his mind and became the curse that haunted him for the rest of his life. And we must remember he had no one when he still lived in the Zenin household unlike Maki and Mai who at least had each other. So he suffered both physical and psychological abuse as well as extreme isolation. Toji only had a brief period when he was a bit more mentally sound due to meeting Megumi's mother. After she died he relapsed and ended up the way he was.
As we see Toji had a gambling problem and he was terrible with money, so he went from woman to woman before Gumimama (how Gege calls Megumi's mom). He also asked his work partner Kong to help with Megumi when he was still lost after the death of Gumimama. He did love Megumi and he tried to take care of him but unfortunately it was not enough. He thought Megumi with his talent would be better off in the Zenin clan than with him. His actions generally aren't the ones of someone normal. That's also why he forgot Megumi when Kong asked about him.
It's not that hard to understand Gege's storytelling and paneling and that Toji copes with thinking he doesn't care, repeating this thought over and over again. But it did hurt him that he wasn't fit to take care of Megumi. Both times when he died, his last thoughts were about Megumi. Gege also made two scenes in the same arc where someone who is not in control of his body comes to his senses for a moment because of their strong feelings towards someone who is alive. With Geto, who strangled Kenjaku after Gojo told him to wake up. And with Toji, when he recognised Megumi. He was happy finding out Megumi was a Fushiguro and not a Zenin, and killed himself so he wouldn't hurt Megumi. Even his eyes went back to normal and he smiled.
Just like he loved Megumi but didn't have the ability to take care of him in a way which would have kept Megumi in normal condition, he didn't have the ability to live a normal life like getting a normal job. He was simply too damaged and mentally unsound.
Toji was also known as the Sorcerer killer, and this has to do with how he was seen as not having any worth by his clan due to his lack of cursed energy. His brutal actions as an assassin result from his dejection towards the jujutsu world as he attempts to spite it. So he defied fate by killing sorcerers who were supposedly better than him, to get back at the Zenin clan. Even after his fight with Geto, he mocked him for the fact that a "monkey like me" could defeat him and Gojo. As I mentioned, after meeting Gumimama Toji stopped gambling and also stopped hunting sorcerers.
Gojo as the strongest, the six eyes, represented the world that had shunned Toji since his birth. During his fight with Gojo, Toji's instincts were telling him to run away, but his pride and his intense need to spite the jujutsu world and the Zenin clan made him ignore all of it, and this cost him his life. In the end, he lost to his inner demons and wasn't freed from the Zenin curse. However, him entrusting Megumi to Gojo paid off. Finding out his son was a Fushiguro, he found some peace of mind. And we know Maki took care of the Zenin clan as a sort of a second Toji.
The only time we see Toji express himself in a way that has nothing to do with violence, it's towards Megumi. Praising Megumi for being able to free himself from the Zenin clan. During his last moments, he was always thinking about his child, his 'blessing'.
