Y'all the amount of posts from "liberal" men on Reddit crying about how women are being too mean to men after the election is making me want to commit a war crime.
"Men are being radicalized by online misandry" I know man vs. bear tweets hurt your feelings but you will never be at risk of bleeding out from a miscarriage because doctors were too afraid of anti-abortion laws to save your life. You are not the victims here.

More Perfect Union | CNBC's Jim Cramer raises alarm over United Auto Workers' President Shawn Fain: "I find him frightening." He thinks Fain and the UAW are going too far. "The notion that shareholders are fat cats... that's class warfare. And it's very shocking to hear class warfare."

Landless Rural Workers and Indigenous peoples take joint action in reforestation activity in Brazil
The activity, part of the Landless Rural Workers' Nature Day, was joined by Minister Sônia Guajajara
Tumblr media
In a joint action, the Landless Rural Workers' Movement (MST, in Portuguese), Kaingang and Guarani Mbya Indigenous peoples airdropped three tons of juçara and araucaria palm seeds. The activity in Rio das Cobras Indigenous Land in the state of Paraná, southern Brazil, is part of MST's Nature Day.
The event held on Tuesday (4) was attended by the Minister for Indigenous Peoples, Sonia Guajajara; the head of the Presidency's General Secretariat, Márcio Macêdo; and the interim Minister for Agrarian Development, Fernanda Machiaveli.
Indigenous leaders from different regions of the state came to personally hand over their demands to federal government representatives. This is the first time Sonia Guajajara has visited an Indigenous land in Paraná as minister.
In a document drawn up after a meeting of Indigenous leaders the previous night, they demand the demarcation of lands, public policies to promote agriculture, policies for access to housing and improvements in Indigenous health and education.

New article: Is Dropshipping Indie Selling? (No.)
There has been a recent influx of social media accounts made to advertise The Wonders Of Dropshipping on any post mentioning ecommerce. Many of these seem to be bots, but a real person must be behind them -- so our very own Alex R. of @handmadehazefromtheheart decided to write up an article responding to the idea that these ecommerce "guru" types overlap with our member base of online indie sellers.
Excerpt:
To a consumer, the process of buying from big name versus indie online storefronts is the same: see the pictures, read the description, click “purchase,” and wait for a package. That standard makes it pretty easy for another kind of online seller to present you with a product on an original-looking webpage, accept your money in exchange for the promise of shipment — and then turn around and give (some of) that money to an actual supplier that sends you your purchase. [...] Ultimately, the Indie Sellers Guild seeks to be an online extension of the labor movement. In capitalism, things are often divided into a working class and an owning class, and we’re here for the working class. [...] [D]ropshipping is a way to claw at the benefits of being part of the owning class: gaining profit for nothing more than inserting yourself into a transaction that doesn’t need you to operate fairly. We don’t condone that, and we don’t represent that.
View it in full here.
For some insightful thoughts on print-on-demand selling -- something that we don't all agree falls under "dropshipping" but does overlap -- you'll find a link inside to another article by Valerie of Artisans Cooperative.

Today is Larry Itliong Day! Itliong was a Filipino-American labor organizer who is remembered as one of the “fathers of the West Coast labor movement.”
Itliong is best known for co-founding the United Farm Workers Union with fellow activist Cesar Chavez in 1967. He was also key in launching the 1965–1966 grape strike and boycott in California, which led to increased workers’ pay and protections.
We honor Larry Itliong and all who have tirelessly fought for the rights of farm workers, immigrants, and Asian Americans.

Why won't the studios just make a deal with the writers and actors already? We know they can afford it.

glorious 25th makes me think again about that one idea i once had for a discworld spinoff set in the future that would deal with the natural conclusion to the industrial revolution arc: communism comes to discworld

i generally keep my mouth shut on the Israel Palestine conflict because there is nothing I can say that is of any value, but saying that all striking actors deserve to be replaced by AI and don't deserve fair pay just because you don't agree with the SAG president's statement on the conflict? it just proves that you never cared about the strike in the first place and only supported it for clout.

The solidarity movement between American labor and international activists is nothing new. The American Federation of Labor (AFL) boycotted Nazi goods in 1933 and the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. In 1984, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 10 stood up against apartheid in South Africa and refused to unload South African goods for eleven days. In 2023, as the mass killing of Palestinians in Gaza began in earnest, the former head of ILWU Local 10, Larry Wright, said, “It’s really important that the unions come out and oppose this terrible violence on the Palestinians.”
...Mancilla clarified why the UAW in particular would care about this international issue: “Our union has a long history of being very vocal against human rights abuses and wars and foreign conflicts. And the reason why is because we are directly implicated. And then our taxpayer money pays for political backing and weapons and military sources that a lot of states that infringe upon human rights commit.”
...Similarly, Parul Koul, the president of the Alphabet Workers Union, observed that, after months of watching videos and seeing photos of IDF killings in Gaza, Americans seem to be slowly re-learning the importance of international solidarity. “In the United States, we’re often fed this narrative that what’s happening abroad isn’t really related to us,” Koul, who helped organize tech workers at Google, tells The Progressive. “But over the last nine months, people have just had so much education about how the United States’ political machinery is funding the genocide and in doing that, neglecting people’s needs here at home.”
