Okay I love wordgirl found family as much as everyone else in this fandom, but I would like to mention somethings.

Becky has little support when it comes to her superhero stuff, Steven is gone, Miss Power was grooming her to take over the world with her, Huggy's obsession with keeping their identities' a secret being more intense then Becky's. And Scoops & Violet & Rose can help him out, but they are kids and don't know much about being a superhero like Steven or Huggy.

I want to explore the fact that she is leaning onto the villains for support because of how little of it he lacks: Rhyme & Reason really shows it when she admits to being forlorn after helping them become friends again even though it was a way to stop Rhyme from destroying everything and they attack her! She just goes over to the two villains she just met and leans on them for support!

Her villains take to him surprising well; I wouldn't be surprised if they suspect that she's a kid due to them being around it more often and may haps experienced something similar so they are trying to help him out! Which is good, but my goodness as seen in the paragraph above this does not bode well.

And if someone like Amazo guy were to come down to help her, it would not trust him due to The Rise of Miss Power and the incident with Squeaky & Steven which most likely ruined his idea of other superheroes helping train her which JEAHNXNYDS

Also him and the villains are similar to each other, due to neurodiversity, behavior, or just their issues being similar which oof.

I also think about crossover AUs (looking at the Multi-verse Mix-up fic) which with what was stated above is. not. going. to. bode. WELL. outside of Fair City the villains are not going to help her, they will most likely end up either

and may be something else but this is the top three reactions to her leaning on them for support and also other superheroes are going to notice that she doesn't trust them or just straight up dislikes them. I do not really interact with superhero media outside of out of context clips, or some kids shows (Wordgirl & Powerpuff girls) but from what I know she will avoid superheroes like Batman and Deadpool the MOST (correct me if I am wrong idk much about anyone else)

Im imagining an oc to give Dr. Two Brains/ some angst, maybe he had a relationship/engagement with someone before he turned.

I have this idea b/c he has a photo of him and a girl next to his bed and mentioned a niece. I like to think he's next to his sister, his side of Steven trying to value broken pieces of his personality covered by Squeaky and Two Brains, which he is shown slowly becoming when he became Wordgirl for that one episode (and after all that, he still wants to be a hero!) So, that means he still valued relationships in a way, right? This shows he had a relationship with someone (my hc his sister, he values them being siblings). He must have SOME recollection of the people in his life.

Anyway, just imagine that. All his forgotten relationships, he probably had a spouse/partner.

Imagine that spouse/partner going angry after this as an eventual villain. Not for Wordgirl, but for Dr. Two Brains. They feel betrayed, hurt, and will do anything to avenge their ego and self esteem after Dr. Two Brains seemingly forgot every relationship he's had in life, familial, friends, etc. especially them. His partner!

I think it would be an interesting dynamic to help his character not only grow but flesh out! I wish we saw Steven come back!!

I hc Steven knows Becky's identity, but Squeaky doesnt. So when they both see Wordgirl and try to recognize her, Squeaky probably dominates that. Steven can't even get a push or fight in saying no to fighting her, which is why when he went into Wordgirl's body, he finally wanted to help. Asking her if she knew what it meant to be hero still.

I recentrly realized that one of the WG's comic showed that Professor Steven Boxleitner actually knew the identity of Wordgirl, so I star thinking...We know that Steven created the "The super heroes and you. A practical guide" book and thanks to it Wordgirl is the superhero that we know.

So, what if Steven actually made WG's costume? I dare to think about this since Becky is not the best with crafts.....Otherwide she could have foud it on her ship, buy idk, this headcanon is more cute and I like to draw Steven so...yes.

Hi guys, the one post got 6 notes, so I’m doing the context for my sad Whammer art

Basically, I got attached to the headcanon that Whammer temporarily dropped villainy after Can’t Touch This.

At first, no one noticed, before Wordgirl suddenly realized “hey wait, I haven’t seen the Whammer in a while.” It wasn’t just that she hadn’t seen him commit crimes, she hadn’t seen him out and about on the street like she usually does with other villains.

When she gets the chance to, Wordgirl heads over to the Whammer’s ‘home’ to go talk to him. He’s half dressed, and even though his home is usually messy, something about it seems extra unkept.

So they talk for a bit, and the Whammer just seems off. He still smiling and upbeat, but the second he thinks he’s not being looked at, he just looks upset. Eventually, Wordgirl tries to stop beating around the bush and question where the Whammer has been this whole time, and Whammer just tries to admit that hes just in a creative block for crimes (which was clearly a lie). Despite some pressing, Whammer doesn’t budge with the cover up.

Eventually, Wordgirl tried to not so naturally shift the topic to stuff in the Whammer’s horribly organized base. While it’s mostly filled with random crap, Wordgirl stumbles upon the Whammer’s plushy collection, which was interestingly filled with a lot of the villain plushies. She tries to question just why he owns so many, and that causes him to break.

He completely breaks down and goes on a half coherent, sob-filled, wham-filled rant about how after the events of Can’t Touch This, he’s convinced no villain, not even the ones not involved with the EVA, will ever take him seriously again because they thought he was lying before. In reality, yes the villains assumed he was lying and were annoyed with him, but they’ve pretty much got over/forgot it. Yet in the Whammer’s mind, they all hate him now. It doesn’t help that he already isn’t friends with that many villains because most of them think he’s loud and annoying. He owns so many of the villain plushies because he genuinely admires the rest of the villains so much, and tries to find some mutual affection through the plushies.

After awkwardly calming him down, Wordgirl gently suggests that he actually goes outside instead of holing himself up in his house and stewing in his poor mental state. After some convincing, the two of them have a fun day to cheer him up.

It takes him a while, but the Whammer does get back into crime.

Look man, if your main character ain't putting on a happy and people pleasing facade while going thru more shit than anyone should ever go thru and having a hero complex that at the same time gets constantly reinforced because they keep being some people's only chance, I don't want anything bout em. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHS (IM DYING NOOSOSOSK) FINALLY SOMEONE CALLS ME OUT, BUT YEAH, THAT'S INTENTIONAL.

That's the charm of the tobecky family, like I'm sorry, but my favorite gag that I have is a lot of people not believing the kids when they say Tobey is their father since that's the parent reveal most other characters know about. But don't worry, there's a lore reason for this!! Lexiconian genes are hella strong (think freaking goku in Dragon Ball with his kids khhgfgjs), so it makes sense that the kids would inherit more of Becky's side of her Lexiconian family. But, even though it doesn't seem like there's no McCallister in them, it's pretty subtle to know that they sure are his kids, especially when they all need to wear glasses (even Luis and a young Tori but they refused). The smoking gun is, of course, the cowlick they all have, and when they scowl or make faces, that's total Tobey coming through with his generational sass. I'm actually thinking about updating Matilda's design a bit, and with her, I think it's more obvious that she's more McCallister.

Is there a meta reason why they are like this? Yes, actually! ---

One of the reasons is the melanin, I can't help but increase it, we all know this, both because it's easier to color in and pleasing with the colors and designs I like to use, and yes, also out of pure spite for fandoms complaining on such things.

There's a meme about how a lot of people's first drawings of their ocs are pale as hell (mine too), but when you learn more about character design they reflect a lot more on your chance to diversify especially if you're POC yourself and want to reflect that with your ocs.

And it's not strange that they aren't exactly perfect combinations of Tobey and Becky. Mixed kids are very diverse, and it's probable to look more like one parent than the other, even with the Lexiconian lore reason, irl that's the case, and I like to represent that. Also with other genetic traits, this is the case with my family, like all three of us (me and my siblings) look nothing like our mom and we got dad's side of the family in our faces khnkhgs, to me i look a lot like my grandma.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for the ask I really appreciate that and it really makes me so happy to know people love my Tobecky ideas both from Canon ideas and from my AU stories, especially the latter since it's what I'm most passionate about.

uhm uhmm reworking my lore/headcanons for who I think Tim's mom was guys,,,,

Rant below!!!

Basic facts: I named her Rosanna Botsford (working on a maiden name), she's Dominican, TALL (she's the one who gave Tim the tall genes LMAO), dons a green sweater and grey skirt, and wears black shoes

Info: As the title suggests, she's Tim's late mom, and Bampy's late wife. She was a really sweet person, constantly cooking up Dominican recipes for her family, originally made beans a la botsford (It is good, Tim just butchered the recipe lol), and would do fun things with Tim a lot, like joining dance competitions with him. Aside from her sweetness, she had a taste of mischief from time to time and would pull small pranks on her loved ones and people around her (That's where TJ got his mischievous side from). Unfortunately, she suffered with illness for almost her entire life, and it got really bad in the early 70s. This ultimately led to her passing away from a sickness when Tim was about 15-16.

Tim and Bampy coped with her death very differently. Tim, when faced with the anniversary of her death or the memory of it, either quickly does something to take his mind of it, no matter how outlandish it is, or disassociates, staring blankly off, usually needing someone to snap him out of it. Tim was a HUGE mama's boy, so when Rosanna died it hit him hard. He uses avoidance as a coping mechanism

Bampy is the complete opposite. He does stuff to remind him of his wife, like putting up roses in the house, and cooking the meals she used to make. He accepted what happened, but also takes the time properly mourn her, sometimes visiting her grave to place flowers. He misses her, but all he can do now is remember her, and let her memory live on.

Tim did not tell the kids what happened to Rosanna. It hurts him too much to say, so he avoids the topic whenever asked about it. Despite their close relationship, Tim tries to avoid Bampy on the anniversary of Rosanna's death because he knows his dad would do the things stated above, and Tim is completely avoidant on talking about it so they don't clash well on that day.
