O que gosto imenso na poesia é esse silêncio que fala... e a poesia de Wislawa nos permite o espanto. Nos surpreende, com miudezas da vida e com os horrores da realidade. É poesia do assombro. Inquietação de estamos aqui, nesse mundo de coias e causas. Nós e não os outros. Consciência de começo-fim. Inconsciência de Ser ou não ser. Acabar por acabar somente. Ninguém é o centro de nada e o mundo não precisa de nós, mas dependemos dele. . . Pularam dos andares em chamas -- um, dois, alguns outros, acima, abaixo. A fotografia os manteve em vida, e agora os preserva. acima da terra rumo à terra. Ainda estão completos, cada um com seu próprio rosto e sangue bem guardado. Há tempo suficiente para cabelos voarem, para chaves e moedas caírem dos bolsos. Permanecerem nos domínios do ar na esfera de lugares que acabam de se abrir. WOMAN

Through the fabric of her being, she is woven with intricate complexities.

Intuitive wisdom passed down as a gift,

from her ancestral Queens.

Woman understands without need for clarification,

her light being the illuminator,

shining into soul to help you see parts, where you dared not go.

Magic lives within us as mothers of the world

with children born and unborn.

As givers of life, the dawn of creation lives within,

our internal palace walls.

The divination of our cycles reflecting the cycles of our existence;

We are the prophecies of our grandmothers’ portals.

How can anything be compared to Woman?

Recognise her celestial power, without comparison to her male counterparts.

Celebrate her in her own right; in the glory of her own magnificence.

We are told that Woman came from man’s rib…

Yet daily man is delivered from WomBan’s Queendom.

Blurred are the boundaries of the emotional and physical;

Nurturing and nourishing with our hearts, with our bodies.

Our full selves are given,

our souls hear;

they listen.

A woman’s first call in life is to LOVE.

Born from the womb of the universe,

These cyclical Goddesses rise.

With a force undeniable,

life on earth is not viable,

without Woman to tie and pull.

the bows of life, high and full,

It is a feat indescribable.

For she is not to be mansplained;

She is to be felt.

It is in this way I celebrate all of the phenomenal women in my world and around the world; you are the closest thing to God on this planet.

I salute you,

I honour you,

I praise you,

I admire you

I aspire to, see Gaia through, the divine feminine –

The HIGHER you.  

Happy International Women’s Day to you my sisters; you give me strength and you stoke my fyah. It’s time for us to continue coming together, to rise even stronger, as humanity needs women now more than ever.

I leave you with something my mom has always said and still does to this day:

“People often say it’s harder to be a woman, because they put their focus in the wrong place; you are so lucky to be a woman, for you get to experience the world through your heart.”
