Wolf Lineart: Upgraded

Soooo... a friend @sinspark4 got me into playing this wolf game, and one of the cool things you can do is make custom gear for the game if you have a premium account.

And... they have some GORGEOUS Artwork for their wolf bases.

And... and then they have The Female Beta Pose.

The Beta Female pose. Like by itself it's pretty nifty like DAMN. COOL. But... BUT WHEN COMPARED TO THE OTHERS, IT'S SO SAD.

Sooooo... After my friend and I were talking about the art and blah blah i somehow got it in my head that i could try to Make It Better.

So I did!

Behold, the art I spent Way Too Many Fucking Hours On as a dual gift for my friend, a gift to the game's playerbase, and fulfilling my own personal desire to the wolves to all be equally badass XD

Ngl not much changed on the alpha poses. They were already super well drawn and were my reference goal to match the other poses to.

Omega Male:

Heh... I had to remove the rock I put in there that was hiding this crappy little blob. The original shadow of this wolf was. just. fuckin'. You could see the artist just used a single round soft brush and did a dot and one line and then called it a day unlike how they blended the beautiful alpha shadows REEEE. Anyhow, i just had to suffer with the silly dot. Fortunately, it doesn't show up on most backgrounds in the game.

Omega Female:

Honestly, this one's my favorite :'D

What got me into writing FanFic?

I wasn't allowed to have social media until I was in my late teens, so it was my friend group telling me about fandom and fanfiction. We roleplayed on Pinterest, Google Hangouts, and I even dabbled on WolfPlay 😅

What series got me to start creating?

So, I only ever really absorbed fan content through Pinterest due to the aforementioned no-social-media thing, so I started creating fan content before I was really able to delve into Fandom! I wrote Hetalia OC fanfic on notebook paper in middle school, then branched out to Supernatural OC fanfic, publishing that on Wattpad

What is the hardest thing about writing fanfiction?

CHARACTERIZATION!!! I am constantly worried I have written a "he wouldn't fucking say that" LMAO 😆 That and actual plots lol. But also, I gravitated to fanfiction because I SUCK at world building, and with fanfics, you already have a pre-established world and characters to play with and expand upon! It's a big old sandbox and I'm out here with fancy buckets and water making castles 😆🥰

The art on this site is all over the place. I can't even blame the new artists because of how inconsistent the gear art has been for YEARS. Especially now that it looks like Eve will just let anything be submitted as custom gear.

To me, it feels like Eve may have gotten tired of paying artists real money, so she allows art of a variety of qualities so she can benefit off of the unpaid labor of artists in the community.

Yes, people who design custom gear get paid in mush/apples whenever their designs sell, as well as the 10% royalties when their custom gear is sold player-to-player, but you can't pay rent or buy groceries with mush or apples. Unless the artists are also selling said currency for real money. Which is rule breaking. If they are, then good for them!

Some custom gear cost apples, and other players pay real money for apples to buy custom gear, which the artist never sees. But Eve does. And Eve also sees the money that may come from the artist to get their design submitted and put on the market.

You have to have a Premium account to submit custom gear designs, and then you must pay 10 Apples to get your design on the market if it is approved, so there's a not-zero chance that an artist may have had to have paid real money to get their art on WolfPlay.

What a grand scheme, to get an artist to pay you to get their art up on your website, and then have other players pay you some more to get access to that art! I wonder how much some apple-priced custom gear has made Eve? If it's anything more than what the artist made (which we know is zero dollars), then that sucks.

I think it's pretty scummy.

My first art of my OC Nimune i did back in 2019 as a pfp for Wolfplay. I had a poll to decide her name (i was og gonna go with Pristine, but Nimune won, so that’s what she ended up as. i think she would be. hella different character if her name ended up as pristine lol.)

and at one point its like wolf 1 intertwines their tail with Asmodeus

and then a few things later its like wolf 1s mate curls up with Asmodeus
