#Wolf Quest

I don't even have the words to describe how I'm feeling about wolf quest saga being out for public beta. Imagine you're 8 years old and so lonely but at least you have this game to play and you're waiting for the rest of it to be out and you check and check and check every single day for an update. And then you grow up and forget about it for a while. And now you're 24 and you're not so lonely anymore but this game you loved so much as a kid is nearly finally completed over fifteen years later by a group of people who love these animals just as much as you do. A wonderful beautiful project of passion that was never meant to be this big or this loved. Bursts into tears.

Avalanche was no runt, but he had always been the smallest of the litter. Though his father was insisting on getting him to eat, the sick pup only ignored him with heavy lidded eyes, and laid down for a nap. Soleil felt his chest filling up with thousands of apologies and regrets. He could have been a better parent, he should have tried harder.

The young father laid down next to his son, holding him tight as if it was going to fix anything, and stayed still until he felt the small body exhale for the very last time.

I am surprised it lasted for as long as it did; it always felt like its days were numbered. So sad to see it finally at its end... gonna miss checking in on it.

You know, I feel kind of bad for killing this wolf in a territory skirmish. She was one of the rival pack leaders - 1613F. According to the game, she was only 3 years old. Most likely a dispersal that 1000M recruited to replace his fallen mate.

She was caught up in a conflict that she barely understood, and it ended up taking her life.

Sometimes I think to myself, "I don't take their land, I don't kill their pups," but then I remember that I have infringed on their territory before, and I have killed a couple of their young hunters in wolf fights just because they were weaker than their older packmates.

I realize we've both done the unforgivable to eachother, and this blood feud will only end when one clan eventually falls.

...Anyways, Wolfquest's saga update has been making me feel more than I expected to. 😅

god i am in awe of wolfquest. i love wolfquest. making a pretty-realistic-for-the-time educational game that helped raise a generation of wolf kids and improving and growing it over time and eventually completely remaking the game to have as much realism and features and details they could do now, but couldn't 10 years ago. they added dog packs to lost river dude
