Release: DemoDemo PlayStation Volume 16, 1996 March (PCPX-96025)
Download Link
DemoDemo Volume 16 is probably the sparsest yet in terms of actual features in that it only has playable content and videos to watch, but it’s got one of the better demo lineups to make up for that. You’ve got your choice of stuff like Jumping Flash 2, Bust-A-Move Again, Asuka 120% Special: BURNING Fest., and even the Japan-only port for freaking Zork I (yes, that Zork, the old text adventure one). There’s also a sweet pachinko demo by way of Sankyo Fever: Jikki Simulation in case you just felt a hankering for some free simulated pachinko or something.
Anyway, here’s what you can expect to find on this disc in full:

Arcade Game Gallery: Wolf Fang (aka Rohga: Armor Force)
The following is a translation of the Arcade Game Gallery article from the May 1992 issue of Micom BASIC Magazine, which features concept artwork and the backstory for the 1991 Data East arcade game Wolf Fang: Kuuga 2001, released overseas Rohga: Armor Force. The article contains concept art for the four main mechs and some of the bosses, the backstory of the game and the official names of all 64 mechs that can be constructed by the player (which are not in the overseas version of the game), and a cheat exclusive to the Japanese version. There’s also a translation of every voice sample in the game, but I deliberately left this part out, since the lines are already in English.
Development History of the Armored Soldier
The development of the Armored Soldier started in 1997 with the aim of assisting the XF/AV-series of fighter jets (the Silph, the Valkyrie and Seylen), but it could not be put into real use due to problems with the balancer and power transmission. With the feedback obtained from enemy technology during 1999′s Operation Ragnarok, four prototype combat suits were rolled-up in 2000.
Since these four prototypes were made by different teams, they each had their pros and cons when it came to their external forms and performances. A certain engineer proposed the idea of combining parts from each of the four prototypes in order to create an Armor Soldier suitable for any sorts of task or environment.
The 64 Armored Soldiers that ended up being created were each given a codename by the engineering team led by the man who came up with the proposal.
The four prototype mechs (Soryu, Tenrai, Ryu-oh and Rasetsu) along with the unnamed Hero and Heroine who pilot the Armored Soldiers.
The Enemy Combat Vehicles Who Obstruct Your Path
Stage 3A Boss: Heavy Armored Soldier Prototype
Stage 3B Boss: Heavy Ioncraft EB-1
Stage 4A Boss: Heavy Destroy Jotunn
Stage 4C Boss: Heavy Submarine Stingray
Stage 5C Boss: Múspell
Stage 5A Boss: Hrungnir
Secret Mode
To access the Secret Mode, insert a coin at the title screen and then hold A and C while pressing Start. This allow you to choose between Normal Mode and Special Mode. Special Mode is a story-less campaign where you can go through all of the game’s stages once without having to play the campaign multiple times. [Note: This cheat only works in the Japanese version, as the overseas versions lack any multiple paths.]
