So, every Winter Solstice, I do a simmer pot to enliven my space, cleanse the air, and enhance happiness and luck for the coldest months of the year. It's also a solid offering to my spirits, giving them a nice boost of energy at this time of year.
I always try to make the simmer pot edible also. I like to be able to drink the results!
This year, I'm switching things up a little bit. I'm gonna be experimenting with ingredients I don't usually use to see how it goes! I'm also doing this in the morning instead of in the afternoon to make more time for feast preparations!
Here's what I'm putting in my pot and what it's for:
Enough water to float everything safely, adding more as it evaporates throughout the morning
Sliced apples - Love, happiness, luck
Sliced oranges - Happiness, sun energy
Lemon juice - Cleansing, joy, sun energy
Cranberries - Health, protection from illness and misfortune
Cinnamon sticks - Happiness, fire energy, wealth
Cloves - Warmth, fire energy, luck, protection from misfortune
Brown sugar - Sweetness, happiness, love
If I wasn't planning on drinking some of this, I'd include pine needles -- I don't love the taste, and I want to enjoy this!
The idea is to fill a pot with water and gently add all the ingredients. Then, bring it up to heat and let it simmer on low heat for as long as I like, adding water as it evaporates. Once it's nice and steamy, I'll take a cup of it and carry it around my apartment to flick small amounts of fragrant water here and there.
And even if it's cold, I'll open up the windows for a few minutes to let the air flow. It's so important to keep air moving in the winter; otherwise, it gets stagnant and stale, and it makes me feel worse.
I don't usually, but I think this year, I'll also use it as a wash for my front door. We could definitely use a boost in luck and protection and joy for next year!

I made a spell jar for Yule.
Tumblr media
This Yule spell jar is beautifully crafted, blending herbs, salt, and charms to represent warmth, protection, and prosperity during the winter season.
Materials you'll need to prepare a spell jar for Yule
A clean glass jar with a cork lid
Sea salt (base layer for purification and grounding)
Dried rosemary (for protection and clarity)
Orange peel, dried (to represent joy and solar energy during the darkest time of the year)
Cinnamon sticks, broken into small pieces (symbolizing warmth, abundance, and luck)
A snowflake charm (to embrace the winter solstice's symbolism)
Twine (to tie around the jar for decoration)
Instructions
Use sage, palo santo, or your preferred method to cleanse the jar and set your intentions for the spell.
Pour in a base layer of sea salt to ground and purify.
Add rosemary, orange peel, and cinnamon pieces in layers, focusing on your intentions with each addition (e.g., warmth, joy, protection.)
Close the jar with the cork lid. Secure it with twine, tying the snowflake charm around the neck of the jar.
Hold the jar in your hands and say a prayer or affirmation, dedicating it to your intentions. Place it on a windowsill at night and charge it under the moonlight.
Place the jar on your Yule altar, near a candle, or gift it to someone to share the blessings of the season.

12 wishes of Yule 🎄✨️
(This is a manifestation ritual)
Do whatever it is you do to personally prepare to manifest then:
Write down your wishes on individual slips of paper and place into a jar. Give it a good shake, and each night, begining on Yule, burn one slip of paper at random per night by candle for 11 nights. On the 12th night, take the last paper and unfold it. That is your responsibility to work on. The others will get help from the gods above and the universe (or whatever you believe in)
((If you can't burn them, dissolve the paper in water, burry it, or just toss it away))
Blessed Yule witches
Or Alternatively, you could stick 11 wishes into a pinecone and burn it all at once on this solstice night.(( Just saying lol ))

Embracing the Magick of Yule: A Guide to Winter Solstice Rituals
Tumblr media
As the winter solstice approaches, practitioners of magick find themselves drawn to the mystical energies surrounding Yule. This sacred time, marking the longest night and the return of the sun, offers a powerful backdrop for connecting with the unseen forces that shape our existence. Here's a guide to practicing magick during Yule to enhance your spiritual journey.
Honoring the Winter Solstice:
Yule, occurring around December 21st, marks the winter solstice—a time of deep reflection and rebirth. Begin your magickal practice by acknowledging the significance of this celestial event. Consider creating an altar adorned with symbols of the season, such as evergreen branches, candles, and images of the sun.
Casting a Yule Circle:
Embrace the power of sacred space by casting a Yule circle. Use candles in colors associated with the season—deep green, red, and gold—to define your magickal area. As you cast your circle, visualize the energy of the winter solstice flowing through you, connecting you with the universe.
Rituals for Renewal:
Yule is a time for personal renewal and transformation. Craft rituals that align with the themes of rebirth and the returning light. Meditate on areas of your life where you seek growth and positive change, channeling the solstice energy to fuel your intentions.
Invocation of Deities:
Connect with deities associated with the winter solstice, such as the Sun God or the Winter Queen. Invoke their presence through prayer or meditation, seeking guidance and blessings for the coming year. Offerings of herbs, spices, or seasonal foods can enhance your connection.
Candle Magick for Light:
Tumblr media
Light candles to symbolize the returning light of the sun. Focus on the flame's energy, using it to banish darkness from your life and bring clarity to your path. Perform candle magick spells aligned with your Yule intentions, infusing the wax with your desires.
Divination for Guidance:
Yule is an opportune time for divination to gain insights into the future. Use tarot cards, runes, or scrying methods to seek guidance from the spiritual realm. Pose questions about the coming year and trust the wisdom revealed through your chosen divination tool.
Feasting and Communion:
Celebrate Yule with a festive feast, honoring the Earth's abundance and the return of light. Incorporate seasonal foods and beverages, sharing the meal with loved ones or, if practicing solo, offering gratitude for the sustenance provided.
Closing the Circle
Conclude your Yule magick by thanking the energies and deities invoked. Close the circle with intention, expressing gratitude for the blessings received and carrying the solstice's transformative energy forward into the new year.
By embracing the magick of Yule, practitioners can deepen their spiritual connection, foster personal growth, and align themselves with the natural cycles of the universe. As the wheel of the year turns, let the energy of the winter solstice guide you on a journey of renewal and enlightenment.

Help me witches, I’m setting up a section in a local shop with some witchy wears, I’m doing it based on sabbats, I did these little write ups to go with my items for Yule but do they read ok? Do they make sense and do the spells sound ok? Been along time since I’ve sat down and written out spells properly.

Tis the season.
So when I first came out of the broom closet It was because this friend of mine was so vocally open about how they were a witch. (He also helped me come out as trans but that's a story for a different day.) We never really became the closet of friends but I have always carried the parts of him that he gave me with me. In honor of the season and my friend Toby here is a self love hot coco.
Ingredients:
You're favorite hot coco. Whatever mix or homemade recipe you want or whichever one that makes you feel the most joy.
Whipped cream of choice
cinnamon
Step one: You make you hot coco how you normally wood. This time however you think about all the warm and comfy memories hot coco can bring you. Think about those nice feelings carrying over into the rest of your life.
Step two: Pour the drink into any cup really. If you want to add some color magic then I'd pink a red or pink one.
Step Three: If you like cinnamon this is where you can add some to the coco. While adding this I would think about the abundance of love I have in my life for/from my husband, my dog, and my bestfriend.
Step four: Add whip cream on top to add some sweetness to your life.
Step five: Using more of the cinnamon make a heart shaped ring around the cup and have it rest in that "circle" when not actively drinking from it.
While it mostly depends on my mood I usually dispose of cinnamon heart by collecting it and then using it like a soap to wash my hands to promote abundance.
