-> okay, here's my first attempt at writing nick miller fic. it's very short, as i said they would be, but i hope you enjoy! i'm nervous lol

it's the eighth wedding of the season. you and the loft family: winston, schmidt, jess, and nick are all sitting around your table, a little bored, and very much wanting to go home.

jess taps you on the shoulder, and you blink rapidly, realising you had been dozing off, "huh? what?"

"they're doing a wedding party photo," she explains, "come on."

"let's get this over with so we can get the hell outta here." winston comments as he rushes out.

you follow your group of friends out onto a field outside, where the entire guest list is shuffling around, finding their spots for the photo.

you end up wedged to the left of the bride, a couple of heads back. the photographer announces loudly that he's ready to start taking shots, and that's when you get up on your toes, trying to get your head in over the taller people in front of you.

tip toes aren't enough, so you try jumping whenever the photographer yells, "aaaand, 3, 2, 1..."

the jumping doesn't help either, so you grab onto schmidt and nick's shoulders. "guys, can you boost me up a little?"

schmidt doesn't hear you amongst the chatter of the guests, but nick looks down at you, confused.

"why?" brows scrunch as he looks down at you.

you gesture pointedly at the people blocking you from being in the photo. "i'm too small." you laugh.

"i gotcha, shortie." nick glances around, then smiles, "i have an idea."

your eyes widen when you suddenly feel one of nick's arms wrap around your waist, while his other slides under your legs. he hoists you up bridal-style. "oof! there we go."

the new height means you can see above the heads in front of you. "uh– thank you." you reply, trying to ignore the butterflies that swarm your stomach at the contact — your arms wrapped around nick's neck, his holding you up with ease.

the photographer yells, "alright! last one, let's make this a fun one!"

you glance at nick, and he nods at you encouragingly before turning back to the camera and sticking out his tongue. you wrap one arm tightly around him, then throw your other arm in the arm, grinning at the camera.

a few days later, when the photos are posted on facebook, you stop on a particular shot. in this photo, nick had just picked you up, and your eyes are locked onto each other, while the rest of the bridal party is looking ahead. you click save.

- id like to imagine you holing up in your room for a while, and them trying to figure out what to do about it.

- like nick keeps sliding fruit roll ups and gushers under your door, jess just sits outside and talks to you through the wall, schmidt keeps playing music really loudly in hopes it’ll convince you to make a dramatic entrance. winston puts furguson’s little paws under the door bc he knows you think its adorable.

- when you do come out and tell them what’s going on, they all really want to just start going door to door and threatening people until they give you a job. you have to talk them out of it

- nick gets on a kick about making you ‘dinner’ so you surrender and sit with everyone else on the couch for a movie night. you havent done laundry so you borrow some shorts from jess and and a t-shirt from schmidt that says “i <3 models”

- it turns out to be a three course meal. first course is a box of kraft mac and cheese with croutons on top. second course is slightly burnt chicken nuggets and your sauce of choice. third course is vetoed by schmidt for looking “radioactive at best”

- winston takes over and makes a genuinely impressive batch of brownies for the third course. you spend the night revising your resume with everyone and coming up with ways to stretch the truth.

- jess insists that the next day is going to be a break day, that you guys are going to do nothing except relax and try to feel a little better

So, I was rewatching 610 (lighting strike arc my beloved), and in the episode there is a storyline with Hen and Denny. Denny takes an interest in baseball and it is revealed he is in contact with his father.

This is the start of a storyline that continues for Hen. But most importantly? this is a Wilson storyline. And you know the thing about this particular episode? Karen isn’t in it.

Karen - aka Hen’s wife and Denny’s Mom. She’s not in the ep - but she is in the ep where they fully deal with it (as this ep more so introduces the SL).

And no one after watching that ep was saying how Karen not being there clearly meant Henren were heading for a divorce.

So - even when in eps the presence of a recurring character does make sense, their absence is not the sign for their exit some people believe to be. As has been previously stated, recurring actors have x number of eps signed in their contracts.

Sorry for going back to a heavily discussed topic, but I thought 610 is a perfect example for what we’ve all been saying lately.

It is a great example!

The "problem" is that we currently have two couples that are as mains: Madney and Bathena. So, of course both will be involved in each other's storylines.

Then we have two couples that include one main and one recurring character: Henren and Bucktommy.

To make another completely romantic main couple just wouldn't work and that's why Gavin is a main because Eddie has Christopher and that relationship is important in it's own right.

It's like New Girl, which bestie boos love to use for 911, you have two couples made up of mains: Schmidt and Cece. Nick and Jess.

Then you have Winston with Allie (a recurring) and even Coach with May (a guest character)

There's just not enough time in the show. If Connie would have stayed on for 911 the two main couples would most likely be Bathena and Buck and Abby. But Connie left and Jennifer was brought in as Buck's sister, thus eliminating Buck from ever having a romantic relationship with another main

BIOGRAPHY:

For the first few years of his life, Ozan never really wondered about his father or why he wasn’t around. Those first few years, he also didn’t wonder why his mother was never around either. As he grew older though, he began to realize how alone he was and other kids asked how he could do anything that he wanted, how he could stay over at other houses and never get into trouble. The answer was easy though, he was alone. Before, his mother would show up everyday, eventually she showed up every couple of days with a new boyfriend or a new job that she promised she would keep, most times though, she'd disappear for days or weeks. He didn't know any better, could not understand that he needed a parent to watch over him, to take care of him,

But he began to wonder why when his bicycle broke, there was no one to fix it, or why there was never anyone waiting at home for him with warm hugs or hot chocolate after running home from school. Ozan sometimes felt so heartbroken that he couldn’t sleep, or sometimes showed up at his best friend’s home with a blanket because his house was too cold and scary, when he became a teenager, he took advantage of it.

Parties became a daily thing, with it, a child that had one found a home in school and homework, eventually became familiar with drugs. To forget it all. To finally stop thinking about coming home and instead running around with his friends, crashing parties and shoplifting or any sort of thing that would make him feel more than the emptiness that he had always felt. His mother eventually found her way back home, but trying to rescue a young man that had never learned to respect her after years of neglect and ignoring his cries for help would never be easy. It wasn’t until he got arrested for stealing whiskey from a gas station that his mother decided to take matters into her own hands. In her words, she did what she should have done from the moment he was born; send him to the United States, to finally meet his father.

His father was a warm man, owned what was back then a small vineyard in Covington and to his benefit he looked genuinely surprised when a bitter Ozan showed up on his doorstep with only a backpack and a letter from his mother, a one night stand that he’d had in Istanbul when he went on vacation with his friends sixteen years prior. Percival never questioned if they were father and child, he did, however tell him that he would have two jobs now: school and everyday he would show up to the farm and spend the rest of the day there. Ozan hated it all and he tried to run away twice. English was impossible to learn, he couldn’t make any friends, he hated school.  Not to mention, the withdrawals were stronger than him and there was no way to get his drugs without knowing anyone, with no money. He did everything to push the man away, but instead his father only pulled him back in.

After a year of arguments and back and forth, and a failed school year, Percival persisted, giving his child structure and discipline where necessary. If he didn’t want to finish school that was fine, but he would work for him and he would earn his money, his food and whatever else he wanted. If you ask him now, Ozan cannot tell you when he and his father became a family, but he assumed that the early mornings taking care of vines, washing barrels and picking grapes slowly turned into conversations, eventually into sharing a cigarette and finally into hugs. It made him realize that, perhaps, feeling at home wasn't a myth.

His routine became erratic; get high, show up to work, go out with friends he eventually made, hooking up with people he barely knew, going home to sleep barely enough to wake up and do the same thing all over again. Again and again. A few years down the line, the vineyard turned into a famous spot for weddings in the region, visited by celebrities, by tourists and weekend crowds curious about their wines and though he didn't have much to do with the success, Ozan felt on top of the world. 

Everything came crashing down when Percival was diagnosed with MS almost five years ago. Suddenly, the only caregiver he had ever had, needed Ozan's help. And Ozan, although loving and now an adult, was so lost in his addiction that he didn't know how to even start but regardless, made it his mission to help his father as much as he could. He took his father's spot at the Vineyards, knowing that it meant the world to his father to see his lifetime work continue to thrive and grow despite his condition, moved back into the family home and turned his entire life around in a span of a year by embracing his now busy life, making so many decisions and cleaning his act up.

It’s been the best five years of his life, but also the worst years of his life. Sobriety is not easy to achieve while surrounded by parties, events and people with means. He was sober for two years, then again for a few months and now it’s been a year of sobriety, but it’s something that he struggles with and Ozan honestly doesn’t know if he will ever be able to fix that part of himself, but he tries. Now more than ever, he tries for himself though. He tries to be the man that he wants to be, wants his father to remember as a good man and not as the lost kid he'd met twenty years ago.

thank you all for your love and support!! it genuinely means so, so much to me and i could not be more grateful. watching mamma mia! for the first time honestly really inspired me and i've loved ABBA for a while now already, and i thought it'd be fun to make bots inspired by the songs!! (and yes there are like 3 or 4 songs not included, i know)

i decided to do them split up based on the fandoms i am apart of, because the songs (i feel) are versatile and I don't think that there are characters from a single movie/show that would be able to be used for every song. i would've loved to do abba/mamma mia x challengers, but not every song can be applied to tashi, art, and patrick, which is why i did characters from different movies/shows :)

and i do need to give some credit to @voidsuites because really, maya did it first with her brat x challengers bots (which you should go check out/use if for some reason you haven't yet).

“This is a completely different level of weirdness that I don’t know if I can handle.” Cece looked up apologetically, then pointed at Nick, starting to fight for his innocence. “From you two, not from him. Jesus!”

Nick was conflicted. On the one hand, he should have known that they’d go that far. On the other, he really did wish that he’d had the opportunity to have one single conversation as an adult that didn’t include Schmidt. Especially with the woman he was in love with. Still, choking down a laugh behind a very stern face, Nick pointed toward the wide open door and yelled, “Get out of here, guys!”

It was still very strange to experience the post-workout Jess. She easily uprighted and pushed two grown people toward the door. As she and Schmidt were being ushered out, Cece called over her shoulder. “Tell him, Jess.”

“You’re not in this!” she countered. It wasn’t like she wasn’t going to. She had learned a long time ago that when Nick was on a roll with his feelings, it was best to let him ride it out. She didn’t want to interrupt him. Nevertheless-

Cece threw her whole body in the door, with Schmidt shouting and reaching over top of her. “You told Schmidt I love him and now we’re married!”

“Did not !” Suddenly, they were back to teenage Jess and Cece again. Both of the men in the room looked at her incredulously. She wilted, then focused on the floor between her feet, “I told Nick.”

That was all it took to set off the lightbulb for Cece. “Yeah, okay. Loophole! Schmidt,” she said, clearly looking at Nick, past her husband’s shoulder, “Jess still loves Nick and seeing him with Reagan was driving her crazy and she was trying to push them together because she thought that’s what would make Nick happy.” She shook her head and squared herself on Schmidt, spilling out all the things he already knew for NIck’s benefit. “It was even part of the reason she and Doctor Sam broke up. She thought he was going to propose, said no, and when he asked why she wouldn’t have been able to marry him, she said that she didn’t know but he said he did. It was Nick. It’s always Nick.”

Nick had stopped looking at Cece and begun to stare at Jess. That was weeks before. He wasn’t even supposed to be home for another 5 weeks, based on the original plan. Was she just never going to tell him?

“The only thing she wants more than his happiness is him.”

The room fell silent. Nick hadn’t expected that. There was no way in his mind that Jess could still feel that strongly for him. Sure, they’d remained friends, but that…

That was love.

More than love, that was exactly the way he felt about her. The do-anything-for-ya, sneak-into-a-party-at-Prince’s-house, stick-my-finger-in-a-car-lighter, fly-across-the-country-as-soon-as-possible-to-be-back-with-you kind of love.

“Is that true?” he asked quietly.

“I-”

Nick moved the few steps to her, ending his chase for the night. “Jess?” he asked, no need to add anything further. What he wanted was to hear it from her. To hear something from her on the matter.

Wrapped up in the warmth of his eyes and the gentleness of his voice, Jess could feel herself beginning to fold. She wasn’t done with the conversation, but she needed to chase out the onlookers. She leaned forward, bridging the hardly-there gap between them, and kissed him in return. This time, he kissed her back so forcefully she had to bend backward. In her mind, she could only imagine that they looked a little like the picture of the sailor kissing the woman in times square on V-J Day, except that Jess was clearly enjoying herself way more than the poor, unsuspecting dental assistant in the photo but it just wasn’t the time for her mind to be getting angry over a 60-year-old photograph. She and Nick were kissing.

And Schmidt and Cece were cheering, not leaving.

If they didn’t shut up soon, Winston was going to wake up and it would all be over. There’d be a loft meeting and they’d be made to hash out things they hadn’t even discussed yet in front of their roommates. Instead of waiting for that to happen, Nick broke the kiss momentarily as he remembered that they were being watched and turned to his best friend. “You guys can go now.”

“I’m just so happy,” Schmidt croaked through happy tears. He moved into the room and flung his arms around the pair, kissing each upon the top of their head.

“ Schmidt .” Jess winced and ducked. It was just in time, too, as Nick swung over her head, pressing his best friend’s face away and smacking at him with the other hand.

When he was finally subdued, all he could manage was a sheepish and totally inauthentic, “Sorry.”

“Come on, honey,” Cece shushed, ushering her husband out and waving over her shoulder.

Nick moved back to Jess and placed his hands on her waist, pulling her in closer. Jess, with her ridiculous hearing to make up for how woefully blind she was without her glasses or contacts, held up a finger to Nick one more time. She glanced toward the hallway. “I’m going to put heavy cream in his oat milk.”

“You’ll do no such thing, Jessica!” their roommate and resident drama queen yelled, bursting back into the room from where he’d been pressed against the door jamb.

“Leave!”

“Get out of here, Schmidt!” Nick yelled, this time meaning business. He moved toward the door and slammed it into his best friend’s ass, then shoved it shut.

Through the closed door, Cece teased, “You know she did that to smoke you out, right?”

“I know. And I fall for it every time,” Schmidt yelled, more at himself than anything else, stomping as they retreated.

“I know you do,” Cece placated as the door to their bedroom finally closed on the opposite side of the loft.
