“the three lovely sisters from hexeons, yes? you could say we have much in common. it’s always a joy to partner up with them during science classes.

however, i must admit i’m rather jealous of them being sorted into the same dorm. some may scorn the idea of being in the same dorm as a sibling - it depends on the person, of course! but i adore the idea of being physically close to family.

winona has my respect. no one deserves to be the dorm leader of hexeons more than her, especially after how she made the dorm into such a supportive and familial community. i couldn’t agree with her values regarding family more. had the mirror not assigned me to pomefiore, i would’ve hoped to have been put into hexeons.

malvina is a dear! perhaps i should pay her a visit some time soon. she’s the one i’m the closest to, as we both possess a great love for potions. i always look forward to the exchange of our latest experiments and concoctions. she may make a few peculiar expressions at times, but she’s rather enjoyable to speak to nonetheless. it’s a shame that it seems others don’t share the same opinion, though...

as for the youngest sabrina, she’s quite a free spirit. a little eccentric, but that only adds more to one’s charm, no? so far, she’s been nothing but a friendly companion to me. her specialty involving potions has piqued my interest as well. i do wonder if she’d be willing to lend any she’s made. i’m always looking to expand the collection in my cabinet and mithridatism to different types, after all.”

BIOGRAPHY

Nancy was a surprise baby to the Austin family and the youngest as well. For the first couple years of her life, this made the apple of her father’s eyes, but the fact the girl was more rowdy and active compared to the sweet, dress-wearing daughter he was expecting, this quickly changed and she started being shamed for wanting to climb trees or play in the mud instead of dolls and wanting to be like the other little girls her age. Her mother, however, encouraged her behavior and wanted her to have the option of doing whatever she wanted and this was luckily the parental voice she listened to.

As she started elementary school, Nancy was quick to show just how smart she was by getting to be the top of her class in just Kindergarten and staying that way all throughout. However, she didn’t just stop at academics and did play sports as a kid; going from basketball to track. This continued to make her father angry and finally, her mother had enough of it and soon her parents were divorced. She stayed mainly with her mom while her brothers often switched where they went. This all changed, though, after her mom got cancer and passed away; leaving Nancy under her father’s care full time.

While she was mourning, her father upset her more by forcing Nancy to be what he imagined his daughter should be. She was forced to quit the sports she was doing and take up other classes like home economics and cooking. Her clothes that she preferred to wear were also thrown out and replaced with dresses or skirts. This made her angry and all she could do was count down the days until she could be out of his house.

It was during high school that she heard of the foreign exchange program and started looking into it. Luckily, she was still the top of her class and had great scores academically so when she applied for it, Nancy was able to and while she was hoping for some far away country to get a lot of distance between her and her dad, she ended up going to Vancouver, Canada. She was happy with the distance, though, and felt like there she was able to be more herself with her host family. She spent the last two years of high school there and remembers it to be the best time of her life. She had an amazing boyfriend, great friends, and it was the first time in so long she felt truly happy. 

After graduation, she ended up back in Bridgeport and ended up going to a university in Bar Harbor so she could live in the dorms. She got her business degree while there and met her future husband. After graduating from college, her and Don got married and settled down in Bridgeport before having a son, Hal. Nancy spent the first few years of his life being a stay at home mom and having a daughter she named Shelby, but after he started going to school, she started working as a manager at a local store; putting her business degree to good use.

Things were good for a while, but as she got older, Nancy realized that married life and being a manager of some store wasn’t exactly what she wanted to do. She wanted to own her own business and be the woman she always wanted to be. So, her and Don got divorced and she moved into her own place with the kids before using the money she saved up and got from the divorce to buy a bar, Nancy’s Tavern.

Opening the bar was a great thing for her. For a few months, it was slow, but once she got her regulars, things were perfect. It set up nicely and eventually, she went to buy the house attached too and the family moved there. She took care of her kids and when time came for Hal to go to college, she was sad, but supported him as he went off to Boston. Things were once again fine as they adjusted to this new life until one Christmas when she got the call that Hal had been in an accident.

Nancy raced to Boston and sat by his side until he was finally able to come home. She let her staff run the bar while she worked on taking care of her son and focusing solely on him; causing strain on her relationship with her daughter. YEars passed and things got easier, but her worry about Hal and even Shelby were high and she always wanted them close. She’d make sure they’d text or call if they were going somewhere and check in every hour for a while before it just became every two. She became very protective, overly so, but she just wanted her babies to be okay.

Ten years passed and this was still the case for Nancy. She continued checking in on her kids while also running the bar and that was her life. Rarely would she spend time with friends, but she would with her kids and nieces when they came by. However, her protectiveness caused a riff between her and Hal and they ended up fighting. The fight led to them not talking much, despite him working at the bar, and it tore Nancy up. Around the same time, her ex-boyfriend from high school showed up and the two started reconnecting so at least a little happiness was there.

Things changed when she woke up on her birthday and Hal was nowhere to be found. No one could get a hold of him and days passed without anything. The mother started panicking and as the days turned into weeks, she was turning into a broken shell of herself. She just wants her son home and safe, but more than anything, wants to know he’s alive.

Since Ceridwen tutors Meliora as a favor, I will say that they're really good at getting Meliora to pay attention because they do the same tutoring thing for their siblings at home, so tutoring Meliora is easy for them, and they see Meliora in the same light as their younger sibling's somewhat!
