Ecco come affrontare queste situazioni:

Event Info & Rules
WHUMPTOBER is a month-long, prompt-based creation challenge (think: Inktober, but whumpier). There are 31 official themes this year - one for each day of the month - which can be used, skipped, or combined in any way you’d like. They are meant to serve as inspiration without being taken literally (e.g. you don’t have to include the exact wording of prompts into your work). Feel free to run rampant on interpretation. For example, if the prompt is “flame", you could create something with reference to a candle/campfire, your character could have suffered a burn, or the flame could be a reference to an ‘old flame’ - an old relationship. It’s truly down to you!
In total, there are 4 prompts for each day. These are optional suggestions and can be used in conjunction with the theme, or as options/alternatives. We want to give everyone as much creative freedom as possible, as well as increase event accessibility for folks with triggers and squicks. There is also a list of 15 alternative prompts that can be subbed in for any day, again to give participants as much creative freedom as possible.
Creators can PRODUCE work in any media they choose, including but not limited to: writing, visual artwork, photo/video/audio edits, paper crafts and elaborate recommendation lists (not just a list of links). Creators can PARTICIPATE as much or as little as they want (i.e. you don’t have to do ALL the prompts if you don’t want to) and prompts can be used in any order. They are also free to use even after the event ends.
When uploading Whumptober content to your blog, be sure to tag it with:
#whumptober2024 …..(the event tag)
#no.1, #no.2, #no.3, …..(theme number)
#bruises, #stabbing, …..(the theme or specific prompt you chose)
#altprompt …..(if you use an altprompt, tag the post with the number of the prompt you replace)
#fandom or #OC, …..(ironman, original content, oc, etc.)
#medium …..(gifs, fic, podcast, art, etc.)
#teeth, #etc …..(trigger warnings & any additional tags. Keep in mind not to add “tw” in front but only use the word/trigger itself)
#nsfwhump …..(only for nsfw content)
#your own tags go here
PLEASE BE DILIGENT WITH YOUR TAGGING. Only properly tagged posts are considered for archiving on the official @whumptober-archive blog. They must be tagged in the order above. An elaborate post about our tagging system can be found [here]
Unfortunately, due to the sheer number of participants in recent years, we cannot guarantee your work will be archived. A random selection of properly tagged posts from all genres will be reblogged each day.
Whumpers who produce content for 31 total theme days are considered event completionists and will be tagged in a masterpost at the end of the month. A form will be published at the beginning of November asking you to tell us if you completed. This is based on trust and we will not check this.
Frequently Asked Questions
Please read this before you send an ask!
TIMELINE
July: Trope voting form released. Late August: Prompt list is released for at least four weeks of preparation time. Tropes cannot be posted earlier than August 25th because of Moderator obligations in real life. (But, you know, go ahead and start writing/drawing, and add the themes in later, if you want!) September: Do as much or as little on your works as you want. You can prepare everything in advance or let September go by with vibes and start working in October. It’s up to you. October 1st: Challenge begins! A storm of whump breaks upon us all! During this time, some posts will be reblogged to the whumptober archive blog. We open the yearly AO3 collection for posting (optional). November 1st: The challenge is officially over! Completionist form opens for those who want to be included in the hall-of-fame. Early November: We release completionist and participant badges, solicit feedback, and post a hall-of-fame list of completionists by the 10th.
PARTICIPATION AND COMPLETION
Q: What counts as participation? Create or continue at least one work inspired by one of this year’s prompts. Q: What counts as completion? Creating work(s) inspired by at least one prompt from each day (or alts), for a total of 31 unique prompts. Q: Do I need to create 31 works? No. You can, if you want. Or you can create one work that you add to every day with a new prompt. Or several works that combine prompts. You can also update an existing work by adding new material with the current prompts. Q: Do I need to post my works somewhere to be a completionist or a participant? No. Q: How do you know I actually completed the challenge? We’ll take your word for it! Q: Do I have to finish my work(s) to be a completionist? No, you can post WIPs. And you’re not obligated to finish them in October, but if you want it to count towards being a completionist, you must have completed 31 prompts by the end of the month. So for example, if you’re writing a long fic and you fit 31 different prompts into the writing you did in October, it’s okay if that fic isn’t finished by the time October ends, you’ll still be a completionist. Q: Is co-writing/illustrating allowed? Yes, absolutely, and it would count towards being a completionist for both/all of you. Q: Is there a min/max limit on word count for written works? No. Q: Is there a min/max limit of quality for art? No. Q: Do I have to do something each day to be a completionist? No. You can skip days whenever you want, and as long as 31 daily prompts (or alts) are in your works done in October, you can be a completionist. For example, if you wrote a 1000-word ficlet that covers prompts in days 2, 3, and 17, you can check all three days off your list even though it’s only one work. Q: Is this challenge just for fics? No! Artworks, GIFsets, headcannons, rec lists, poetry, moodboards, or any other creative work is encouraged. Q: Can I combine Whumptober with other creation challenges? Absolutely, as long as the other challenges allow it too.
PROMPTS
Q: How do the prompts work? There are FOUR prompts per day: a theme and three ideas. You can use one, two, three, or all four prompts for each day. If you don’t like any of the daily prompts, you can substitute one of the ALT prompts instead. Q: How strictly/literally should we interpret the prompts? As literally or as figuratively as you want. For example, if the theme is WATER, that could mean drowning, waterboarding, raining, swimming, take place underwater, be lost at sea, construct a metaphor about a character’s mood that changes like a flowing river, crying, or whatever else you can think of that fits that theme. Q: Can I combine prompts? Is there a limit on how many? No limit and combine as many as you’d like. If you create a work that checks off multiple prompts, that work will count for a fill of multiple prompts. You need to address 31 different prompts to be an official completionist, but you don’t have to produce 31 separate works.
WORKS
Q: What’s whump? Hurting a character, whether that’s physically, emotionally, intellectually, psychologically, or any other way you can think of. Comfort afterwards is optional. Angst is emotional whump, so it counts. Q: How do I know if it’s whumpy enough? If your character is just mildly inconvenienced, it probably needs more whump. However, no participant has to prove whumpiness to the mods. Whatever you write is up to you. Q: What kind of characters can I create for? Anything. Generic “whumpee,” OC, PC, NPC, major characters, minor characters, or whatever you want. There are no limits. Q: Does it have to take place in a specific fandom? No, you can create works for your own worlds or for fandoms or for both. You can also create more generic or pan-fandom works. You can do cross-overs or use OCs, whatever you want. Q: Can I create AI-created works? We will not reblog or promote any works we know to be generative AI-created. Q: Is there anything we’re not allowed to write? As long as it contains whump and is based on our prompts, it’s fine. Please courtesy tag your works if you post them so people who follow the #whumptober2024 tag can filter according to their preferences. Q: What about sex, minor characters, and potentially disturbing content? You can create whatever works are legal in your country and post them accordingly. Please courtesy tag anything you think might be objectionable if you post to Tumblr so people who follow the #whumptober2024 tag can filter according to their preferences.
POSTING
Q: Where can I post my work? Post where and how you want. You don’t even have to (cross)post it to Tumblr. Just keep in mind if it’s not on Tumblr we will not be able to add it to the blog archive. There is an AO3 archive for Whumptober 2024, as well as the parent collection for works completed outside of the event. Q: Can I start posting early? You can, but this is an October event and wouldn’t it be more fun with everyone doing it at the same time? We won’t be reblogging any work predating October 1st. Q: Can I post late? Yes. For the sake of our hardworking Post Fairies, only a day’s themes will be reblogged to @whumptober-archive each day of October. But you can post whenever. Some of us are still working on and posting Whumptober fics from years ago. Q: Do I have to use your tags? Only on Tumblr and only if you want us to reblog your work on @whumptober-archive. Q: How do I have my works reblogged to the archive? Properly tagged posts will be reblogged to @whumptober-archive. If you want the official archive blog to reblog you, post on Tumblr and tag correctly (see this FAQ link for more info on tagging). Please note not all posts will be reblogged each day. Q: Can we @ you? For questions and comments, of course. We’ll be getting a flood of notifications, so if you really want us to see something send an ask. Q: Can I cross post on other blogs? Yes, multiple platforms and blogs are perfectly acceptable, as long as they allow cross-posting (to us). You can also post different works to different accounts under different names, without posting them everywhere at once. If you post some works under your main and others under an alt blog, that’s fine for completionist purposes. Q: Can I upload/repost my Whumptober content to other social media platforms? Of course! We’ve created an AO3 Collection to archive any fics posted there, which can be found here. The blog is the official archive, so please respect the personal boundaries of any whumpers in your social circle (don’t out anyone as a participant who would prefer not to be outed).
Most importantly, have fun, create, and enjoy all the whump posted this October!

Re-Introducing the A.N.I.M. TTRPG Book Club & FAQ
Alright, so, we have this discord server called the A.N.I.M. TTRPG Book Club, and it’s exactly what it sounds like. A discord server, run by the A.N.I.M. Team, for reading, analyzing, and playing TTRPGs. It’s free to join, and at the time of writing this it has a community of nearly 200 members.
Also at the time of writing this, for a limited time, you can get a FREE PDF of the July 11th update of Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy just by joining the A.N.I.M. TTRPG Book Club! This is a huge upgrade over the free May 10th version!
Here’s how the book club operates:
Nominations. Members nominate RPGs they wanna play.
Voting. After we finish the current RPG, we vote on what the next one will be. You can vote for as many nominations as you want, and nominations with the most votes wins.
Reading. We encourage you to buy the winning game to support the developers, but if you can’t for any reason, we will find a way to get you a PDF. A rough deadline is set that will allow everyone to read the rulebook at a rate of about 10 pages a day, though reading faster or slower is okay.
Playing. We assign GMs on a volunteer basis, and players are assigned to groups with GMs based on schedule compatibility. Each group plays the same adventure module, so each group will have commonalities in their adventure that they can talk about and compare their experiences with, even with different GMs, players, and characters.
Repeat. Voting begins anew with the nominations that we have accumulated in the mean time.
A.N.I.M.’s current Patreon goal is also tied to the Book Club. If y’all can raise our Patreon income to $310/month, that will allow us to set aside manpower to carve out and organize a small additional space within the ANIM TTRPG Book Club server for other games which do not fit the nomination criteria for the main book club! At the time of writing this, it sits at $259/$310. Signing up to the patreon grants you access to monthly rulebook updates as we continue to finish the game, adventure modules, short fiction, and our patreon discord server.
Below is a bit of an FAQ as an attempt to quell any concerns or hesitations
“The Book Club games probably don’t fit with my schedule.”
They might! Because we assign multiple different groups based on schedule compatibility, the book club games are actually very very schedule-flexible! You might be surprised!
And if they still don’t, even just reading the rulebook and joining in on discussions is a valuable form of participation!
“I’m afraid to play with strangers.”
They won’t exactly be strangers if you hang out around them in the book club long enough! Yes we do get what you mean, but there’s nothing to worry about. The A.N.I.M. TTRPG Book Club is a safe community, and we have rules and, more importantly, procedures designed to make playing with relative strangers as smooth an experience as it can be!
“What if I don’t like the RPG that wins the vote?”
While we encourage you to step a little out of your comfort zone, participation in any given round of the book club is not mandatory, there’s no punishment for sitting out! It’s cool to just hang around in the discord server and discuss virtually anything if you want to.
Elegantly designed and thoroughly playtested, Eureka represents the culmination of three years of near-daily work from our team, as well as a lot of our own money. If you’re just now reading this and learning about Eureka for the first time, you missed the crowdfunding window unfortunately, but our Kickstarter page is still the best place to learn more about what Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy actually is, as that is where we have all the fancy art assets, the animated trailer, links to video reviews by podcasts and youtubers, and where we post regular updates on the status of our progress finishing the game and getting it ready for final release.
Beta Copies through the Patreon
If you want more than just status updates, going forward you can download regularly updated playable beta versions of Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy and it’s adventure modules by subscribing to our Patreon at the $5 tier or higher. Subscribing to our patreon also grants you access to our patreon discord server where you can talk to us directly and offer valuable feedback on our progress and projects.
The A.N.I.M. TTRPG Book Club
If you would like to meet the A.N.I.M. team and even have a chance to play Eureka with us, you can join the A.N.I.M. TTRPG Book Club discord server. It’s also just a great place to talk and discuss TTRPGs, so there is no schedule obligation, but the main purpose of it is to nominate, vote on, then read, discuss, and play different indie TTRPGs. We put playgroups together based on scheduling compatibility, so it’s all extremely flexible. This is a free discord server, separate from our patreon exclusive one. https://discord.gg/7jdP8FBPes
Other Stuff
We also have a ko-fi and merchandise if you just wanna give us more money for any reason.
We hope to see you there, and that you will help our dreams come true and launch our careers as indie TTRPG developers with a bang by getting us to our base goal and blowing those stretch goals out of the water, and fight back against WotC's monopoly on the entire hobby. Wish us luck.

8. Is TNP going to be a series?
No, it's a stand alone book.
9. What is your NSFW policy?
I do not take any NSFW questions or prompts on the blog (unless I state so & specifically ask for them). I’m not comfortable with unsolicited, anonymous NSFW questions/messages. However, the game is 18+ and there are already explicit scenes within the game - I understand people will probably be making explicit content, and I have no problem with that. I also have no problem with genuine questions about the sexual content within the game. In general, I try to keep the blog SFW but I may occasionally reblog mild NSFW/nudity and I will tag it as such.
10. Do you do RO reacts?
Not really. They are time consuming and generally the prompts are OOC or do not align with the tone of the story. Occasionally, I may reblog prompt lists here and will accept them for a brief window of time but otherwise I do not typically respond to these asks.

Secret Admirer (Peter Kavinsky | To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before)
Summary — Your best friend has been keeping a secret.
Warnings & Other Tags ➳ Fluffy fluffiness; friends to lovers because it’s one of the only ways to live; some lowkey, classic mutual pining; Peter being a secret poet (not really); nicknames like ‘babe’ and ‘sweetheart’; Lara Jean being a very supportive (but slightly annoying) friend; literally one curse word.
Notes ➳ ‘Can’t Stop the Love’ Event (7/14) ➳ Word Count is 1,357. ➳ Reader is gender neutral (they/them).

The smile that lit up Lara Jean’s face nearly made your heart stop. Her eyes twinkled with curiosity as she bent down to pick up a small, folded piece of paper that fallen out of your locker.
“You got another one!”
“Yeah, I can see that, nosey,” you replied, quickly snatching the note out of her hands before she could become too interested in its contents.
“I just wanna know what he said!” she whined dramatically.
“Wanna know what who said?”
Looking over your shoulder, you were met by none other than your best friend, Peter Kavinsky, hands shoved into his pockets with furrowed eyebrows. Lara Jean immediately grinned in excitement. She spoke before you could, loudly exclaiming, “Their secret admirer!”
“Lara Jean!” you scolded, shoving her shoulder. “Seriously?!”
“You’ve got a secret admirer?” chuckled Peter. “What do the notes say?”
“Nothing—!”
You felt paper being ripped from your hand. Glaring half-heartedly at Lara Jean, you watched as she began reading your letter aloud, “Your eyes burn into my soul like a candle in the dark. My hands long to tangle themselves in the fabric of your shirt. And your lips—”
“Okay, Covey,” you laughed, once again retrieving the paper, “that’s enough.”
Peter watched with a deep chuckle as you shoved the note into your back pocket, “You never told me about this. Do you like that kinda stuff? What he’s been writing, I mean. It seems... sappy.”
You scoffed, closing your locker after retrieving a textbook, “Just admit you’re not romantic and go, Kavinsky.”
“Alright, alright! Take it easy, babe! I’m not judging!” he rolled his eyes with a smile, tossing his hands up in a defensive manner. “Seriously though... Do you like what he writes or...?”
If you had only spared a glance in Lara Jean’s direction, you would’ve noticed her narrowed, suspicious eyes as she stared at him. Your attention, however, remained on Peter, whose nickname for you sent your heart aflutter.
“I mean,” you shrugged, “the notes are really sweet. Who wouldn’t want someone to talk about them like that?”
Peter gave you a small smile just as the school bell rang. His eyes followed your figure as you disappeared into the crowd. His trance was brought to an end, however, when a small fist punched his shoulder. Rubbing the sore spot, he glared down at Lara Jean, who had her arms crossed with an irritated expression.
“Grow a pair, Kavinsky,” she glared.
He scoffed, flinching as she sharply turned away, causing her classic ponytail to hit him across the chest. Little did she know, he did ‘grow a pair’, as she liked to put it. He just needed to wait for you to read your newest letter for yourself.
You looked down at the note in your lap. You had already turned off your car, leaving you to sit quietly in the dark. The only light on the street came shining through the glass doors of Corner Café.
All the kind, endearing words of your most recently received letter had been concluded with what should have been a simple choice: ‘If you want to know who I am, meet me at Corner Café at 10.’
But now that you were here, you weren’t entirely sure if meeting your secret admirer was what you really wanted. Your mind kept going back to the one person who always knew how to make you smile, who sent butterflies into your heart. Every thought led back to—
Knock! Knock!
You gasped in surprise upon seeing someone peering through the passenger’s side window, “Peter!”
He gave you a nod in greeting and gently tugged at the door handle. You immediately unlocked it, allowing him slip inside your car. He settled into the passenger’s seat and closed the door behind him.
“I didn’t realize this place closes at 10,” he said, “so I got us each one of these before they started shutting things down. Sorry about getting the time wrong.”
‘These’ meant two milkshakes, one chocolate for him and one strawberry for you, both topped with whipped cream and a cherry. Your favorite. Aside from the cherry. You always gave yours to Peter since he liked them so much.
Once he was comfortable, Peter seemed to finally notice your surprised silence. He tilted his head at you and took a sip of his drink, eyebrows furrowed in confusion, “You good?”
You unconsciously accepted the strawberry milkshake, still staring at him as you asked, “What are you doing?”
Everything seemed to suddenly click within Peter’s mind. He cleared his throat, and then said, “Right. I guess I should’ve opened with—uh—I’m your secret admirer. Surprise!”
A glare set into your expression, “That’s not funny, Peter.”
“Not the reaction I was expecting, but alright,” he nodded slowly. “Is the fact that it’s me, like, not okay with you?”
He watched as your features softened with realization. The way you looked at him was entirely new. With a quivering lip, you whispered, “You aren’t kidding?”
He exhaled with a small smile and shake of the head, “No. I’m not.”
Peter felt a swirl of emotions coursing through him. His palms were growing more and more clammy by the second. You really knew how to stress him out sometimes. However, he couldn’t stop a grin from spreading across his face when your response finally came.
“I’m glad it’s you, Peter.”
“Yeah?” he practically giggled.
You nodded, smiling wide, “Yeah.”
Peter reached out to take your free hand in his. He raised it to his lips and pressed a gentle kiss against your skin. You could feel a cozy warmth spreading within you when he did so.
“I just have one question,” you said, taking a sip of your milkshake.
He hid his face behind your joined hands with a loud groan, “Oh no!”
You couldn’t stop yourself from laughing at the sight of him. His cheeks were slowly becoming red with embarrassment. Peeking over your hands, his eyes twinkled as he asked, “What’s the question?”
“Did you really write those notes?” you asked. “Or did Lara Jean help you? Everyone knows she’s a total romantic.”
His face morphed into a shy grimace, “You’re close. I didn’t write them on my own, but Lara Jean wasn’t the one who helped me.”
Your eyebrows furrowed, your head tilted, and then you asked, “Then who did?”
He finally let your joined hands fall into his lap. His thumb traced patterns against your skin. With a sigh, he muttered, “Internet generator.”
You burst with laughter, nearly dropping your milkshake. Peter groaned again and leaned across the center console to hide his face against your shoulder. His hair tickled your skin as you rested your cheek on top of his head.
“Shut up!” his muffled voice demanded. “Don’t make fun of me!”
“Dude,” you shook your head, “not a single person in the world could’ve gotten that information out—!”
“Hey!” he interrupted, abruptly shifting to meet your eyes. “You can’t call me ‘dude’ anymore!”
“What?!” you exclaimed. “Why not?!”
“Because,” he scoffed, as though the reason was obvious, “you can’t go around calling your boyfriend that! I’ll never hear the end of it from Trevor if you do!”
A grin slowly spread across your lips, and then you asked, “Who said you’re my boyfriend, Kavinsky?”
Any sign of happiness instantly disappeared from his expression. His hand grew tighter around yours and he leaned in. His eyes stared into yours with a whole new sense of seriousness.
“I don’t think that’s negotiable at this point, babe,” he muttered. “You think I’m gonna let you go when I just got you?”
“Oh, really?” you asked, trying to contain your smile. “Well then, I have one condition.”
“And what’s that?” he asked, eyes momentarily glancing at your lips.
“You, Mr. Peter Kavinsky,” you smirked, “have to show me your fancy internet generator.”
“Shit!” he groaned, bumping his forehead against yours and closing his eyes. “Fine! But only if I get to kiss you right now.”
You feigned a look of deep thought. Your actions made Peter roll his eyes at you as he waited for a response.
“It’s a deal.”

❥・• Warnings and FAQ
Pretending to obediently stay in the palace, I explained the details of the curse to my father.
However, —
King: Are you saying that you have an illness and will die soon? There is no way I will believe such a ridiculous thing!
King: Poor girl… you must have been brainwashed by that wicked fairy.
Kate: No…! Please believe what I’m telling you…!
King: You are forbidden from leaving your room, until this mess is resolved. Do you understand me?
My father refused to believe my words, and locked my room door with multiple locks.
(This won't do… I need to escape this room and find a spinning wheel.)
Tying a few dresses from my closet together, I secured them to a pillar and opened my window.
…
Meanwhile—.
Inside a cell in the palace’s dungeons, the prisoner leisurely takes a few puffs on a cigarette, making the prison guard panic.
Warden: W-Where did you get a cigarette from… who lent you a fire to light that up!?
Guard: I- I didn't know he had a cigarette!
Jude: You’re making too much noise over a little cigarette.
Jude: Instead of fretting about something this stupid, you’d best get a spinning wheel ready if you truly cherish your princess.
Guard: What are you talking about?
Jude: Your dear princess has an incurable illness that your incompetent royal doctors won’t be able to cure even in a thousand years.
Jude: Once her curse takes effect, time will stop for her body. During the time when she’s asleep, I’ll treat her illness.
Jude: I wanted to say the same thing 10 years ago, but those useless bastards refused to listen to me.
Warden: He’s merely spouting nonsense to save himself! Ignore him!
Jude: *sigh*...
Jude let out a deep sigh with some purple smoke and pressed his cigarette butt onto the cold prison floor.
Jude: All of you are asking to be beaten to a pulp.
…
Kate: This should be where the textile mill is located…
(It’s impossible for me to break into it with all these barbed wires.)
(I’ll be caught by the security if I enter through the main entrance… I don’t have time for that.)
Kate: At this rate, I’ll have to break my way through the barbed wires and end up covered in blood—
???: I didn’t think “Thorn Princess” referred to a princess torn to pieces by thorns.
Kate: …!?
I was startled by the sudden sound of someone’s voice, and turned around to see a man with mint-coloured eyes who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
Kate: W-Who are you…? If you’re one of my father’s acquaintances, I’ll have you know that I won’t be returning to the palace. Please, leave.
Fox: I’m merely a lying fox.
Fox: And I happen to know where to find what you're looking for. Now, am I lying or telling the truth?
Kate: …! How did you know what I'm looking for?
Fox: Who knows? Let me get this straight, you’re looking for a spinning wheel to prick yourself on its spindle so you can fall into a deep sleep.
Fox: When that happens… you won’t be able to return to your original world for the next 100 years.
Fox: If “that guy” fails to find a cure to your illness, you might even die in your sleep.
(This man… he seems to know everything about my situation.)
He could be a similar existence to Victor, the man I met before being transported into this fairytale world.
I looked directly into his mint-coloured eyes.
Kate: — Even so, that doesn't matter to me.
Kate: Because he’s only trying to keep our promise.
Fox: Hmm… then I shall take you to that thing you're looking for.
…
The fox guided me to a clock tower overlooking the whole country.
Kate: Jude…!?
Jude: Tch… why aren’t you in your room?
Kate: How did you escape from prison… or rather, how did you break into my room!?
Jude: Your palace is guarded by a bunch of monkeys with worms for brains. No wonder the princess who grew up there has absolutely zero crisis management skills.
Kate: What…? But, Mr Fox, I was looking for the spindle of a spinning wheel, not Jude—
Kate: … Huh? The fox isn’t here…
I looked back and realised that the man with mint-coloured eyes had vanished.
Jude: Talking about foxes and whatever, have you lost your mind?
Kate: N-No…!
Kate: After we were separated— I made a promise with you from the past.
Jude: Ah…? What are you talking about—
Jude: — Are you saying that the present day “you” made a promise with “me” from the past?
Kate: It appears so… I don’t understand how I was transported into the past either.
Jude: If there’s magic that can stop time, perhaps there’s one for something like this too. I don't know for sure, though.
Jude muttered in a dismissive tone and frowned.
Jude: … I get it. I thought you’ve already forgotten about the promise.
(I thought I did, but…)
– Flashback Start –
Kate: You’re the fairy who cursed me, aren’t you?
Kate: I apologise for the sudden visit, but I’m here to speak with you in regards to lifting the curse.
Jude: … Ah?
– Flashback End –
(Could it be…)
Kate: By any chance, were you mean towards me at our first meeting because of that assumption?
Jude: I don’t remember things that happened a long time ago.
Jude: So now you know why you’re cursed?
Kate: Yes… and that’s why I’m looking for the spindle of a spinning wheel.
Jude: Then I have one here.
Kate: Wha… what!?
Jude pulled out a sharp needle from his pocket.
Kate: Why do you have that with you…?
Jude: Of course it’s to prick you with it.
Kate: I-Isn’t that too sharp to be a spinning wheel’s spindle…?
Jude: A blunt one would be useless.
Kate: I asked the same question to you from the past, but…
Jude: Tch… you have too many questions, young lady.
Kate: Why do I have to prick my finger on a spindle…?
Jude: Maybe it’s just the way you look, who knows. Besides— you seem to enjoy pain.
(... Ah, just as I expected.)
(That boy was indeed Jude.)
My chest felt warm.
It was as illogical as falling for the person who kidnapped you—
I was attracted to this man.
Both the “me” who came from London, and the “me” who lived in this world were.
Kate: … Please tell me one last thing.
Jude: It won't be the last. I said I won’t let you die.
Kate: Why are you doing so much to help me…?
Jude: …
Jude: Because I hate owing someone. It’s just in my nature.
(... I see.)
Kate: … Fufu, that’s so like you.
Jude: Ah, also…
Kate: …?
Jude: That day I met you in that back alley… you were the type of person to jump into trouble without thinking it through, then yell at some kid you just met.
Jude: Even though you spent your life confined in the palace and your life was hanging by a thread, you were a tough princess who knew to bite back.
Kate: … Are you mocking me…?
Jude: I’m praising you.
Jude: But — now I think about it, 100 years of my life isn’t going to come cheap.
Kate: Huh…?
Jude: Although both acts count as “saving a life”, you coincidentally being in that alley and saving me isn’t the same value as me spending 100 years to find you a cure for your illness.
(Did I unknowingly dig my own grave…?)
Jude: Let’s say what you did for me is worth only 50 years of my efforts—
Jude: After I successfully cure this illness of yours and you awaken from your sleep, I can use the remaining 50 years to conveniently have you do hard labour for me.
(—!)
Kate: Does that mean we’ll still be together after I wake up…?
Jude: Tch, you made that sound creepy.
Jude: Make sure you properly return the favour, got it?
Kate: Understood… I promise to compensate you in full for the 50 years!
I never expected myself to feel that happy before falling asleep due to my curse.
Kate: … Please go ahead and prick me.
I heard the soft rattling of the chains on his clothes—
The spindle slowly sank into my skin.
Kate: … nn… ugh…
Heat rose from the site where he pricked me, and gradually spread throughout my body.
The sensation was like being poisoned, and I felt a little afraid…
(Remember… this pain and curse are from Jude—)
Jude: … Feeling good?
Kate: …!?
I opened my eyes to see Jude laughing at me.
Jude: As expected, you do like pain. … You’re a nasty woman.
(Ah…)
I felt my consciousness slipping away.
It was as though I was slowly falling asleep, feeling slightly fatigued.
Kate: J-Jude…
Jude: — Good night, Princess.
After I heard his gentle voice, my consciousness faded into darkness.
And then — the time between losing consciousness and feeling a bright light shining on my face felt both instant and like forever at the same time.
…
I slowly opened my eyes.
I was in neither the clock tower nor the palace. Instead, I found myself in a quiet castle shrouded in thorns.
Ellis: … Ah, Jude, Kate is…
I looked in the direction of the approaching footsteps, and a man wearing a sadistic smile was looking down at me.
Jude: Awake at last, sleeping beauty?
Kate: … Am I dead?
Jude: What?
Kate: Because… 100 years should've gone by, but you and Ellis haven't aged into old men.
Jude: …
Jude: Stupid.
Ellis: Fairies have the ability to manipulate time, so they can also control the physical age of themselves and even other people.
Ellis: As long as they don’t get fatally injured, they won’t die from old age.
Jude: Did you learn nothing about fairies despite locking yourself in the library for days to study, idiot?
Kate: … What about my illness…?
Jude: I had 100 years, of course I cured it.
His triumph and haughty smile made my heart ache.
“I won’t ever break this promise, even in death.”
Since 100 years ago, I knew that he meant what he said.
Kate: Thank you, Jude.
Just like he did 100 years ago, Jude hooked a finger under my collar and pulled me closer.
Jude: I’ve done my part, now… time for your part of the debt to be paid.
Kate: Okay…!
The budding feelings of love I felt in my heart 100 years ago came back to me.
Aware of my growing feelings, I nodded enthusiastically.
I still didn't know what was missing from this twisted fairytale world, but…
(... If possible, I want it to remain undiscovered forever.)
Because, in this world, I had fallen in love with him.
— There was no returning to my original world.

Debugging Complications
Sometimes a bug is easy to catch. You do some normal set of inputs and the aberrant behavior appears. Sometimes a bug is difficult to reproduce. Here are some of the qualities that can make a bug difficult to nail down:
[Build-specific] - The bug only shows up in release or final builds.
Platform-specific - The bug only shows up on a particular platform (e.g. PS4, Linux dedicated server, Windows 10 service pack 2, etc.)
Random timing - The repro steps are always the same, but the bug doesn't always happen when the steps are taken
Frame-specific timing - Specific inputs must be made within a specific frame window to cause the bad behavior. Bonus difficulty if you have to reproduce the bug on a debug build with a low frame rate
Silent failure - The bug doesn't actually trigger any error messages or logs or anything, it just fails silently without a trace
Requires multiple players to repro - Happens only on a dedicated server with multiple squads all playing at once! Player A must do the action to Player B, and the bug appears on player C's screen!
Requires a long time to reproduce - The bad behavior happens only when leaving the game on for multiple hours, like via a [smoke test]
Live Environment Only - This bug only ever shows up in the live game
Even more fun, there's nothing stopping more than one of these complications to happen within the same bug. A build-specific, platform-specific, live-only bug that silently fails and requires a bunch of players that only happens after many hours? Fun!

It’s almost time for Cobra Kai Sapphic Summer!
What:
A month-long event exclusively for F/F Cobra Kai content, with prompts
When:
August 4th - September 3rd
What can we make?
Art, fanfic, edits, whatever appeals to you!
How many prompts are there?
There will be two prompts per week, so 8 prompts total. Feel free to take your pick of either prompt each week. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can totally submit a project for each individual prompt and/or even combine both prompts into one project; but that’s certainly not expected.
In fact, the event is designed the way it is to try and help people to take it easy and not get overwhelmed, which is always a possibility when you’re trying to create in a short time frame. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself!
During the event, when you’re ready to submit your art, fic, edit, etc, simply @ us here at @ckfemslashnetwork and tag #cksapphicsummer and we’ll make sure your work gets reblogged to our blog.
Calendar
Week 1 (Aug 4 - 10)
Prompt: Heatwave / Golden
Week 2 (Aug 11 - 17)
Prompt: Lakeside / Sleepover
Week 3 (Aug 18 - 24)
Prompt: Barefoot / Undercover
Week 4/Rarepair Week (Aug 25 - 31)
Prompt: Campfire / Starlight
Week 4 is Rarepair Week, which we’re defining as any F/F CK pairing with less than 30 fics; so, basically anything besides Samtory and Carmanda. Popular M/F or M/M ships that have been genderbent also wouldn’t count (bc of the ‘popular’ bit).
We encourage you to try creating for a ship that doesn’t get a lot of love, or that you yourself haven’t had a chance to make something for before. (If you end up making something that isn’t for a rarepair, we’ll still post it, but it just won’t go up on the blog until after Rarepair Week itself is over).
Sep 1st - 3rd: Last Call/Dealer’s Choice
Missed a prompt you had an idea for? Needed some more time to finish your piece? No problem! The last three days of the event offer a window just for that.
We’ll be posting more in-depth rules and faqs in the coming days. You can follow us here @ckfemslashnetwork and also check the tag #cksapphicsummer to keep up to date on info.
Questions? Our askbox (and dms) are open. Hit us up!

Warmer Winters Ahead
This week, we’ve experienced some fantastic weather in the Guelph area, and it has been enjoyed by many. The sun has been out, there are no buckets of snow being dumped on us, the birds are chirping, and even some bugs are reappearing. Personally, I enjoy being able to open up the windows in my apartment to air everything out, letting the fresh air in without turning the space into a walk-in freezer. It feels as if we are already deep into April given the weather being so springlike, however we aren’t even halfway into February. Normally, I would be the biggest supporter of warm weather, as snow is not my biggest fan, nor am I a fan of it. However, between this class ENVS*3000 (Nature Interpretation), and a course I took last term ENVS*3010 (Climate Change Biology), it has impacted my way of thinking dramatically, and I am growing more concerned about the world around us and how nature will change due to the effects of climate change.
In 2023, it was determined we would experience El Nino, which brings forth warmer, wet weather that could also bring more extreme weather patterns with it (ICL 2023). Its opposite, La Nina, does not commonly impact this part of North America, however the two tend to swing back and forth (ICL 2023). Together, they interrupt the natural atmospheric weather patterns and seem to only become more aggressive as the effects of climate change continue to grow more apparent (ICL 2023).
While all these changes in weather and temperature are explainable through science, the impacts it will have on our environment are still unknown, which makes me very fearful of what our natural spaces will look like in the future. For us to have such a green winter this year, it makes one curious about how this will impact the health and survival of all of those found within our green spaces. How does this type of weather disrupt their mating season? Will the species of plants still blossom and sprout when needed? Would they be able to survive the cold fronts that unexpectedly appear?
While this seems like an odd thing to think about, I am concerned about what nature will look like in just 10 or 20 years from now. What native species will no longer be able to live here? What will the forests look like years from now if events such as drought or wildfires become the new normal? Will we still have winters with the buckets of snow that we all loved as kids? As aspiring nature interpreters, I think it is our due diligence to be asking the big questions about the nature we find around us. I think it is important to live in the present, and enjoy what we have, but also look to the future and protect the environment for generations of nature interpreters to come.

How to Connect Cricut Machine to Computer via Bluetooth?
Here, I want to focus on the steps to connect Cricut to a computer. Many crafters, especially beginners, can face difficulties while connecting. So, I’ve made it easier for you.
Below are the steps to connect Cricut to a Mac and Windows using a Bluetooth wireless connection:
Windows
The first thing you need to do is keep your machine at an adequate distance, about 10-15 feet from your computer. If you are using Explore models, you should insert the wireless Bluetooth adapter.
Now, check whether you have enabled Bluetooth. To do this, go to Settings and then move to the Devices option.
Then, you can enable Bluetooth by clicking on the toggle button.
Next, click on the Add Bluetooth or other device.
So, you will have to wait until your Bluetooth finds your Cricut machine.
Afterward, select the machine from the available list.
Finally, you have successfully paired the machine.
Mac
The first step would be the same as the above.
Then, you have to hit the Apple menu and select the System Preferences option from the given options.
Look for the Bluetooth option and check whether it is enabled or off. If it is off, you should turn it on.
Now, you will see your Mac Bluetooth is looking for an available device, such as your Cricut machine.
Once your Cricut machine appears in the list, you must select it to pair with your computer.
Once the pairing is done with your Mac, you are ready to setup your machine further.
Once you complete your Cricut computer setup, you can start making your projects hassle-free.
