I like to think that when it comes to dating, when it's early in the relationship and when there's no rage to act as a buffer as it was with Wade, Worst!Wolverine is an absolute dork. He wouldn't normally care. No, Logan isn't the type to act all special just to gain someone's favour. He's a blunt man, saying what he thinks when he thinks it, slow and mellow to a degree with a hint of disappointed sass. But you? You he wants to impress, you he wants to please and you he wants to like him.

And it's not that he is worried that you won't. There's self-doubt there of course but it's more of a sizzling anxiety that he might scare you away if he doesn't act his best. So for once he tries and man is he awkward.

Logan's planning out what he will say a while before he does so, repeating a slew of possible sentences as he nears your home to pick you up for a date. "Hey, so- no... would you like to- no." Chanting the words and growling at himself when they don't sit right on his tongue. He has never thought so hard about something like this and he knows he's acting like some smitten teenager. It doesn't suit him at all and yet he can't stop himself from doing such a thing. Running over a perfectly planned scene in his head.

He's an old soul too so of course he'd be old-fashioned about it. Logan knows nothing about the flowers he carries in his hand, a recommendation of the old lady that was selling them, other than the fact he has to control his grip lest he crushes their pretty green stems. Palms sweaty, his beard suddenly itchy. He dressed up nicely in an old suit that Wade teased him about. Shoes polished and hair styled in a way that screams 'Wolverine'.

Is it too much? Or is this not enough? Will this impress you or pressure you? He hates the ache of worry in his chest the more he dwells on it. He wants to rip it out of himself but how can he when he can't even swallow at the sight of you.

Whenever you're not looking he's pulling a face, scratching at his cheeks because 'shit he didn't mean to say that' and 'damn it why did he do that'. He was just awkward. Was it not for that low timbre of his voice he knows the words would have lodged in his throat in an embarrassing break. But it's okay, your laugh is worth it. And damn is his expression dopey.
